This is a spectacular tv! Very deep black close to oled levels and it’s very very bright close to 4000 nits you’ll need sunglasses. Comes out of the box ready for viewing because the color is so accurate you really don’t need to adjust it too much. That XR processor is the best in the industry IMO. Google tv is very smooth and fast. The only problem with this tv for me is that this 10000 dollar 8k tv does not play 8k videos from YouTube or from a usb stick. Sony has no real answer if this tv will ever be able to play 8k videos from YouTube. If that doesn't bother you buy this tv because you’ll be getting the best tech that the tv industry has to offer but for me I’m going to return it for the 83” a90j

I am blown away by this TV. I am going from the 4K Epson 6050 to this Z9J.. as well as owning the Sony X900H for the bedroom. Compared to last years models, the new XR processer adds a very beautiful uptic in quality. This TV paired with the Panasonic UB9000 with its HDR optimizer, its the most stunning image I have ever seen before. Popped in Sam Raimis Spiderman 2 on 4K and it felt like a brand new experience. Before I hooked up the surround sound system to the TV, I first tested the TVs built in speakers and I've gotta say its some of the best sound quality I've heard from TV speakers. The bottom frame of the TV is slighter larger than most and if you look closer you'll notice its due to basically a sound bar being built in... its got lows and high speakers built in which is insanely impressive. It also has binding posts on the back where you can actually use the TVs speakers as a center speaker with a AV Receiver. Highly recommend this TV!

Ultimately I was between the Sony Z9J and A90J. After using the TV for a few weeks now, it is safe to say I made the perfect choice for my daily use.

The brightness of this TV and overall picture quality are superb. It’s soo bright that at night I lower it to 0. It truly is an experience to behold. Not to mention the size!

I have tested most content (SDR/HDR/Dolby Vision&Atmos/Series X/PS5) and all perform exceptionally well. Dolby vision and HDR content looks clean and responsive.. at times I feel it gets too dark, which I didn’t expect from this TV, but is still a pleasant change considering how bright it always is.

Gaming is great, although there is no G&FreeSync (VRR supposedly arriving Dec). I tried both 120fps and Dolby Vision 60fps on Xbox and I honestly prefer Dolby on a game such as Gears and 120 for a fast paced game like call of duty. Another downside is that you can’t have both and you will need to change between the two depending on the type of game you are playing. PS5 is strictly set at 120fps as Dolby Vision is not a current functionality. Still great to experience ps5 games that allow 120fps on this tv. My wife was blown away at how good Ratchet & Clank:Rift Apart looks.

Audio is pretty good, but I use a 5.1 Sonos set up (Arc, 2 sides, sub), so I haven’t experimented much with the TVs audio.

Google interface is easy to use and responsive allowing easy access to all your apps. The TVs settings menu is straight forward and has info on what each setting does.

The remote control is one of the best I’ve used on a tv and the backlight is great when watching at night.

The design is a little bulky, but not surprising. 2-3in too bulky in my opinion. The back of the panel is sleek and has panels designed to hide all wiring, which allows for a light strip to be attached (Phillips Hue Gradient highly recommended).

All and all the Z9J is hands down the best TV I have ever owned. Future proofed with 8K functionality.

Couldn't be happier!! This is an amazing TV in ALL content. Netflix, Disney+ and all streaming looks amazing. 4k Ultra HD Blu-Rays are just stunning! Played COD Cold War on PS5 and the 120hz through HDMI 4 and the quick input lag led to many fkrst place rounds!

Took me some time to set up the settings but WOW! This TV is worth every penny I spent! Excellent performance, picture, upscaling. I installed my home theatre myself so it took months to understand all the settings I needed to set up. I also had to download and print the manual- for the money it would be nice if they would send one with the TV.

This TV is the mack daddy! We tried three other TV's and NONE compare to the picture quality on this one. This TV is a keeper!

I upgraded from a 75Z9D to this 85Z9J

The jump in picture quality not only from the 8K upscaling but also from the video processing is amazing. The brightness of the set has also increased as well making the set enjoyable in bright rooms where an OLED just wouldn’t keep up. Color saturation is also better and with less bleeding.

Please note that HDMI 3 in the only eARC input and is limited to 4K signals. The set then upconverts and processes them to 8K.

HDMI 4 is the only input that actually accepts native 8K but is NOT eARC

I find myself rewatching my favorite 4K UHD discs and being excited all over again because of the awesome picture!

The set also has speaker posts on the back if you want to use the tv speakers as a center channel. I did not test this as my audio is already a 5.2.4 system and has a high quality center speaker.

Love my Sony OLED tv. This is the best purchase I have ever made. The quality, features and refinement are without a doubt. Google tv is amazing. I still have my 2020 Samsung QLED tv but I simply fell in love with the tv as soon as I saw it in the store. Don't take my word for it. This is my gaming tv so the PS5 is hooked up.

This A90J has some great improvements over the previous Master series offerings and is certainly a eye opener in person.

I got the A90J hoping it would be as bright as a QLED TV without the downsides such as the terrible blooming and dirty screen many competitors have. And while it's not as bright as a top QLED nor does it knock down reflections as well, the improvement in brightness and addition of the hdmi 2.1 were the main 2 downsides to OLED. The third may have been the concern of burn-in which is to be helped with Sony adding the heat sink to keep it cooler.

The screen has no metal bezel like the A8H, which I'm not sure I minded and was a little peace of mind when it came to bumping it. The feet on the 55 and 65 are very far to the edge while the 83 has a wide and middle position, all can be reversed so that you can elevate the tv for a sound bar.

When comparing to QN90A, the screen was so much more uniform and there is obviously no blooming and dimming issues of the LED tech. The banding and motion are also better on the A90J.

Overall, the tv is 20% or brighter over the A8H, with cable and HDR looking far better than previous OLED TVs. Is that worth 2x the price? For me... yes, but that is what people will have to answer with their own budget in mind.

Great TV to switch to, I was always a Samsung guy till now.

Wondering which set should I purchase, this or the LG G1. No excuse, but the G1 was taking too long to be released so I went with this instead. Terrible reasoning I know, but I'm glad I did. The picture on this set is absolutely amazing! Quite thin so mounting on a wall won't be a problem. As far as calibration goes Sony did a pretty good job on standard mode for every day viewing but you still need to play around with settings to get that picture that your eyes will appreciate. As most are aware this set is not cheap, starting at $3000 for the 55 inch may turn some people off and if your budget is limited, going for the less expensive G1 may be best for you. Also, delaying VRR till Winter of 2021 could be a deal breaker for some and should have been ready right out of the gate for a set of this price. Not being a heavy gamer that doesn't bother me as well as having only two hdmi 2.1 ports could be a problem for some if you have more than one high end gaming console as arc/earc is on one of those ports you would want a soundbar that can utilize it plugged into that port so if you don't mind swapping. Bottom line, if you can afford at least $3000, for the 55 inch, you won't be sorry with this purchase.

This Tv is absolutely perfect. I will never go back to LED/LCD again. I use it for my PS5/Series X Google Tv / Amazon Video I also have cable hooked to it and it does a great job of upscaling the picture watching cable tv. 4K Blu-ray's insane feeling like you are in the movie theater. That’s just the picture. When it comes to the Sound now you will be blown away the sound is so good forget about that sound bar.

Ridiculously nice TV this far. I primarily bought it for PS5 and the HDMI 2.1 capabilities. Picture is amazing, refresh rate for gaming isn’t quite as good as a high-end gaming monitor but it is noticeably better than my 5-year old TV that I replaced. I love it so far!

I bought this this tv 2 weeks ago and man is it good .Ima avid gamer I have both the PS5 and X Series X and I had been skeptical of HDR and gaming and I was coming from a pretty decent tv. I previously owned the TCL R625 55 and the tv had brilliant picture quality for the price but the HDR when gaming was terribly dark awashed out no matter what I did to try and calibrate it .So I decided to buy this tv after looking at numerous reviews online and man the HDR when gaming is phenomenal I’ve never seen anything like it and movies and other content look great as well .Also the sound quality from the tv alone is like no other.The speakers are actually behind the whole screen and has a built in subwoofer at the back of the tv .I’ve never heard bass from a tv like this without a dedicated sound system it honestly caught me off guard the 1st time I turned the tv on lol . I know this tv is expensive but man if you can afford it I recommend 100 percent no doubt!

The quality of this tv is opulent - both visually and audibly, and it lives up to the legendary status critics have been saying in recent months since its release. The black levels are the deepest I've ever seen on any device, and the brightness can light up an entire room. Movies are crisp and sharp with good motion, and PS5 games play just fine without the VRR (for now). I've attached 1tb hard drives and USB flashdrives, and the media file formats work just fine. Although it does take a while for the tv to learn the various file formats you feed it, it does so without a problem. The sound quality is by far the best I've heard from a television right out of the box and needs no tweaking (in my opinion), however if your wondering if it needs a supplemental soundbar to add depth and layers to the sound, it does not. And although the Google interface is "different", its not to be under-estimated in its versatility and ease of use. The 83 inch version does give the viewer an unbelievable cinematic experience and stimulates the senses to captivate and envelop you, so if you're going to buy a television in 2021, or a "Forever TV" as I call mine, this is the one to buy.

I’m speechless. This TV has exceeded all expectations. I originally purchased the LG 86” 8K QNED and was disappointed with it’s pitch black home theater environment performance. Dirty screen effect, image artifacting, lack of detail in dark areas, blooming, etc. The A90J laughs at these obstacles and delivers the most brilliantly stunning image that has ever graced the inside of my home. But that quality doesn’t come without a pretty hefty premium. If you can afford this TV, you WILL NOT be disappointed. This is the benchmark that all other TVs should be compared against. It’s THAT GOOD. I almost feel guilty for owning a TV this breathtaking - truly spoiled.

Took a minute to get used to the color… coming from an Samsung 8k Qled… my original purchase got struck by lightning took the tv out… so it was a huge upgrade as far as pricing… make sure you put settings on vivid color makes huge difference but I’m in love with the tv now! I was nervous going from 8 k to 4 k but when you watched the two tvs side by side the oled gave that richness in color… and quality to me… I stared at them both for a while cause it was alot to spend 10k all together on a tv… but I’m happy with my purchase… it’s beautiful

Moved from a 75" Sony 4k to this 83" OLED and what a night and day difference. The blacks are deep and the whites are clean and vibrant. No hiccups or issues getting this setup with a very extensive surround system.

Yes, it's a pretty penny, but it's worth it.

I’ve been with my new 83” Sony Bravia XR OLED for a month now and gotta’ say my expectations have been exceeded. The TV is very intuitive and allows you to easily pair other devices like mobile phones, audio systems (Sony sound bar) etc. The viewing experience has not only gotten positive acknowledgements from our immediate family but by friends as well, and to their request have now led us to having Movie Friday’s. If you’re looking for the optimum viewing experience you’ll enjoy the Sony Bravia XR OLED for years to come, and so will everyone else.

The best OLED TV you can purchase! Worth ever but of the price, comes with all the top gadgets. I owned a LG CX 77 inch prior to this and that TV was great but since buying this Sony A90j 83 I don't think I'll be going back to LG any time soon.

We love our new Sony OLED tv. My husband has some vision impairment and can see this tv much better. Since the tv won’t connect as the center speaker with our Bose system we just rely on the sound from the tv, but it’s just as good as our surround sound. All in all it is a great tv, even though it’s so expensive.

So I'll start off with the 2 negatives of this tv for me. 1) it's Achilles heel which is brightness, after owning a Vizio, Samsung, and now Hisense for the bedroom tvs it is hard not to notice this tv doesn't get too bright. 2) tv corners of the screen are dark it can be highly noticable but i can deal with it with an 85 inch tv it is expected to not have 100% uniformity. Now the good part as far as watching movies, tv shows and live tv this thing is great. Colors are accurate and natural right out the box, and as I understand it almost needs no calibration. That being said the colors seemed muted to me for my viewing preference so i turned them up a bit in the settings to my liking. Motion on this tv is great and love that it is compatible with USB to Ethernet port to bypass the wifi limitations of the internet speed. Now to the most common thing I heard when considering to buy this tv, " just save your money and buy the 900h from last year it's the same tv". No this is not the same tv, they are very similar and share some components, but they have been refined on this model namely the gaming features. I have my PC with a 3080 plugged in at 4k 120 no perceivable issues. Also tried it on my Xbox series X both at 4k 120 and 4k 60 with Dolby vision as it is not capable of 4k 120hz Dolby vision at this time. With the PS5 it worked flawless. Vrr is not currently available but am sure this year's tvs will get it soon. Don't think Sony wants that headache of not putting it out. For the price this is the best bang for your buck at 85". Other alternatives are Samsung who doesn't support Dolby vision, or the LG 83 oled which is well over double the price as well as the x95j which will be better but idk if it will justify the almost 3k price difference with the 5 yr warranty. All in all for me at 3.5k with 5 years is a good deal for this tv.

Good tv. I don't know if it need an update. But its not as sharp and crisp with picture. Also motion is jittery. Like motion is coming on and off. So not sure if needs an update. Tv says its up to date. Picture does not pop like my samsung qled 80t. But ok tv.

The picture is realistic looking and the colors are also realistic and super clear. The sound is good. I have a POLK sound bar installed and the sound is superb with that.

I upgraded from my Sony 65inch (XBR65-X850E) to this bigger 85 inch (KD85X91J). The picture is awesome, very bright, colors are accurate, black level is very nice!!! I don't have any OLED tv at home to compare with that, but what I saw in the store and how picture looks in dark room I cannot complaint about it at all - black is truly black!

Have been on the hunt to replace my wall projection TV unit for some time, waiting for a Great Quality unit at a Great Value. Have the OLED at home too and debated on the 77”, but wanted to get the big screen feel. Deep blacks and crisp! The SONY did not disappoint, great picture quality and couldn’t be happier!

Beautiful picture. Easy to hang for a large tv. Plenty of inputs and outputs. Only issue was I added LED backlighting and have to turn those lights off and on manually. Could have spent less for lower quality or smaller tv but think it was worth it.

Anything bigger than 55 inches one should have a second person help hang the tv or even set it on a an entertainment center. The picture looks great not perfect but great. I don’t think we could have had purchased anything better for an entry level 75 inch tv. The sound on the tv is under par but if you are buying a huge tv, you shouldn’t be expecting huge sound from it. Get a good sound system to pair along with it.

WOW. I have never been able to afford anything like this before, and now that I worked so hard to have it I literally see exquisite detail and it blows my mind. Especially on y Xbox Series S in 4K. People and their skills continue to amaze me, thank you.

I’ve had this TV for a few weeks now and I’m not disappointed. I wish more channels and shows were in 4K but the picture is quality and they’re no problems to date.

I may change my rating later. I have only had this tv for a week. Picture is amazing, easy setup, etc.. The iss I have is it already has screen issues. The backlighting is totally messed up an is blooming in the bottom left, and top right, making it almost unwatchable. We shall see how it gets resolved. Once resolved I may update my review

Excellent picture quality for the price. Four stars because of the unstable table top supports...We had to add additional supports as the triangular nature of the built ins were within 1/8" of the TV stand we bought and if the TV moved, we feared it would crash to the floor or back wall. The stands should be flat to provide better stability.

Not a fan of Google TV and limited apps available, Roku 4K wouks well; however we can't control volume or on/off as we could with our Samsung.

Love my TV very easy to install. Picture is great very clear. When i look from the side view I can still see the picture clear. Speaker on the TV sound great. LG Nano remote easy to manage. This is my second LG nano cell. I have one in the living room and the other in the bedroom. Great picture with lights on or off.

I love the quality of the picture and the apps that comes with it

The date of this review is August 16, 2021, so we have only had the TV since July 22, 2021, which is less than one month. So far, so good. This is our 3rd LG TV so they all have worked well. We are usually hesitant about purchasing certain items after we have read reviews, but since we had two other LG TV's we decided to keep the trend going. We don't watch TV much, but we needed to move the 55" to another room and decided to purchase a 65" as a replacement. These "Smart" TV's are about the light behind the screen (i.e., NANO) which affects the picture. Sound and lighting are good on this TV; there are still some tech stuff we haven't dealt with yet like prompts to add this or that but we are satisfied. We hope this helps someone with their decision.

This TV was exactly as advertised! The different picture modes are a game changer, especially the Gaming Mode functionality. The only complaint (albeit minor) is that the sound quality could be better.

Not as nice as my OLED, but a great television. The picture is very crisp and clear and the television is easy to use. I am an LG fan and this tv just reaffirmed that. My only issue is the sound, it needs to be relatively high to hear anything an the bass is relatively low.

Nice new big screen tv for my living room in my new home. Picture looks good and the installation through best buy went smoothly with a very helpful and friendly staff.

We were looking for a new TV and after doing research and looking in person we decided on this Sony best choice we ever made and we do own this TV !! we had an LG 8570 and this just blows it out of the water.out of the box this TV is outstanding Google TV is smooth and quick easy to get around and use. we watch a-lot of movies and standard Blu-Ray are just perfect 4K blu-ray are mind blowing black level and dark scenes are no problem for this TV colors pop and no issues with motion. sound could be better but we have this paired with a Vizio elevate sound bar and no issues at all with sound cutting out they work perfect together.normal TV looks great to just depends on your source we don`t game so we can`t comment there.one negative would be the remote buttons are small and no back light overall this is a great TV the pictures posted are in a dark room notice the black level and Best Buy had a perfect delivery....Thanks.

I like it, but not the best...

While using the signal from an antenna to watch old TV shows in low resolution, the $700 Hisense picture is FAR BETTER than the $1,600 Sony. On high resolution antenna broadcast, like commercials, the Sony looks much better, but the Hisense still beats the Sony. I've spent countless hours adjusting the Sony and can't get anywhere near the picture quality of the Hisense TV.

Even while streaming 4K video, the Hisense picture is noticeably better than the Sony. The kick in the pants is... I retired a ten year old 55" Insignia LCD that beat both of these by a mile. It was impossible to miss the blatant differences in picture quality with all three TVs lined up next to each other.

The better picture is much less than half the cost.

The Sony is "Google TV" while the Hisense is "Android TV." I prefer the Google TV, but they're very similar and the capabilities appear identical.

One TV is used as a computer monitor for software development, while the other is for numerous video inputs. I expected to use the Hisense for the computer. Turns out, the Sony picture is fine for that while not as good for other inputs.

Conclusion? Buy the Hisense if your criteria is cost. The picture is probably better than your eyesight. Get a soundbar that costs more than the TV. Cheap soundbars aren't worth the money. Pretend it's the 1970s. Play your music loud enough to rattle the windows!

There's a hospital bed in my family room, with two bedside tables. It took a lot of work to set that up, but I can put any of seven inputs on either monitor (or both).

after 2 defective samsung q60a I changed to the x85j clean image and sharp colors I was unlucky to get a defective one, I also had a point in the image annoying for me to keep it, the a good tv if you get one without defects And you only want it to see a movie or programs, why to play, slow for me with delayed movements according to my experience since I play every day in a different brand,,If you look at the marked line you will see the dirty point there, the photo does not make the problem really clear as in person

Excellent quality tv and with Google integrated with it I can download the apps that I use and stream instead of the presets that most tv has, the voice control remote is a added bonus and with the price of the tv under $1000 for a 55in 4k smart tv it's definitely worth it plus the feet was super easy to install no screws or tools needed just slides into place

This is a fantastic television. The 4KUHD looks great on YT TV and Apple TV. I really like the remote. Picture quality is amazing. Smart feature are working well, and with just a bit of lag as I'm pushing the eARC on my Onkyo receiver. Playstation 4 gaming is great as well. I totally notice the difference in response time now vs my previous purple blob stricken 50" 4k tv I replaced with the Bravia. All set up functions including the ones for more experienced techies are great, but the auto sound and picture functions are great as well. Tons of features to meet your viewing needs. I feel really happy about spending the money and going with Sony and the trust I have this TV will last longer the my previous purple blob infected model from South Korea.

First Sony tv’s r the best! I have had one before & it was a great tv just getting older so wanted to upgrade to a larger tv. It’s colors in the picture r so bright. Great picture quality and the sound is perfect for all over my apt.

Bought the previous year's version in a larger size for the family room. Enjoyed all the aspects of the TV so much, bought this one for another room. Everything about it is great, but still getting used to how thin the remote is. Still need to try using the bluetooth connection to the Sony soundbar.

This is my 3rd Sony 4K, they have the best picture. I have purchased competitive 4K TV's, to give them try. Returned, and purchased Sony.

This is my first big purchase on a real 4K UHD Smart Tv (with most of the bells and whistles). So, for me it great! The picture is crystal clear and also has tons of settings to change to your liking. I like the auto “game mode” that caters to your gaming console. With variable refresh rates and HDR modes, this TV is loaded with high end features. I’m loving it.

Great picture quality and Next-Gen Gaming specs ready almost HDMI 2.1 - 4K - 120Hz - ALLM - HDR - besides that VRR firmware, Sony announced coming in the near future which I hope is this year - I’m looking forward to the update with this X85J series from Sony - Great colors, contrast and very good with input delay with gaming, also good for movies too!

sony blew it! this tv is the hardest one to setup ever. pictures were choppy on both satellite and ota. my $180 hisense roku tv was far easier to set up and adjust. sony should have used roku instead of google.

i adjusted picture and yet nothing took effect. i shut the so-called

faetures but it made no difference. i also took the advice of apreviuos poster and did not enable any google functions. google wants to sell you personal data to advertiserds, so enable their apps means you will get hit with tons of ads, more so after each " upgrade". i relied on my previous phone and computer experience and did a rest/reboot after shutting off all of the non-essential picture functions that sony added to this set. that helped a great deal. other than atsc 3.0, this tuner is less capable of picking up ota signals than m y $180 hisense tv is.

i owned sony tvs, vcrs, 8mm recorders, and camcorders back in the 80s and 90s, and beginning of this century , so i can say that this tv is a major downgrade from what they used to sell.

going with google instead of roku was ahuge error in judgement and it's too bad this tv is handicapped by the bad decision to use this software.

i can praise best buy as a regular customer of theirs, but if you are not tech oriented, either buy another brand, either fire tv or roku equipped, or ppay extra to get the geek squad to install and set up this tv for you. if you do it yourself, it will drive you crazy. under no circumstances would i encourage you to set up this tv with google instead of just using the basic setup.

there is also some bloatware on it that you can uninstall ( simba tv, annoyimng notices, various gooogle apps) or just disable . that will free up more ram/rom to use on more essential functions.

I upgraded from a 10-year-old 46" 1080p Sony flat screen. This is so much better. The integrated apps (including AppleTV) work great and reduced my external devices and simplified operation. I am able to use my existing old Sony video receiver (optical connect) quite satisfactorily until I eventually upgrade that as well. My existing BRD player works great, too. Picture and sound quality are excellent. It's easy to use. It also generates almost no heat as compared to the old TV. Very happy.

Perfect buy!!! Given Sony's high reputation for top of the line products, I am not disappointed. After thorough researching similar televisions in this price bracket, Sony has delivered. I enjoy the contrast and picture quality better than the x90j and the x80j. This is a solid television. Definitely worth the price. Sound quality is solid for a stereo tv setup. But, I have it installed to a 5.2 Denon home theatre.

This TV has some issues with my use. When using my Nintendo Switch the sound of the TV can just randomly stop at any given time, and the sound will not return at all (for any input or even the tv interface) until it is unplugged and plugged into power (I do not use sound from PC to TV, I have external speakers, so I cannot comment on if the sound will break here while in use, but can confirm that when it breaks it also breaks for pc and all noise from TV in general).

I use this TV 99% of the time as a PC monitor, and 1% for Nintendo Switch, (never watching actual TV programming on it), and even here the picture has issues. Some characters on the screen at 4k 120hz HDR have vertical lines on them, chopping the letters and numbers into pieces. When HDR is turned off this effect is greatly reduced to the point if you didn't know it happened on this TV you most likely wouldn't notice. The HDR brightness at full brightness is laughably dim, to the point where it was nearly unusable during the day, however when this is disabled the colors are more vibrant and the screen is very bright even when at 40/50 brightness. This TV really shines when playing video games on PC at 4k 120hz (no HDR), its very smooth (assuming the PC can keep up) and there is no distortion of the image. If the goal is to play video games on it with a PC, don't use HDR and your experience will be quite good.

Overall there is too many 'issues' with this TV to give a higher rating than average. If the HDR/TV didn't chop text into pieces and the sound didn't just stop working at random I would easily give this 4/5 stars. HDR I can do without as apparently I like the picture more without it, and I like reading the text on screen..

I bought this TV primarily for gaming and I absolutely love it! Orion V. at the San Luis Obispo location helped me with my purchase and I couldn't have asked for better service! Awesome TV. This TV is the same except thing as the QN85A which is almost $600 more! The only difference this Tv has 30 Watts Vs QN85A has 60 Watts and upward firing speakers. With those $600 I saved I can get a Much better sounding system!

It’s the same picture quality. Processing speed. Anti Reflective coating and etc. It’s the same TV! I owned the QN85A and returned to get this Bad Boy for $600 less! Worth It

This TV is incredible. I’m as picky as it comes with my audio / video gear and this Series is fantastic IMO. Unless you are in that 1% where your TV is literally your life, you don’t need to go spend the 4-6 thousand. This model is going to exceed the expectations of 99%. It’s simply a gorgeous picture.

All the smart features, the interface and processor speed are also top level here.

Lastly, the previous reviewer is correct - the 84a is exact same as 85a except for speakers - and who buys a TV at this level and issues the built in speakers? Save a few bucks and get the 84a while they are still in stock.

Purchased this TV on a pre-blackfriday deal for $900 off price. The Picture quality is amazing compared to my 5 year old 55" 4K TV. This thing has all the bells and whistles when paired with a new Q-series soundbar. HRD10+ 4K 120hz, adaptive sound. Only a couple TV's better than this one in their lineup. For the sale price I don't think I could beat it.

Comparing the products online I couldn't find huge variations between the Neo QLED products so decided to visit the store. Asked the sales rep at the store for differences between this model versus the 85 and 90 4K Neo QLEDs and the only answer I got was, "picture quality." The store did not have this model on display so I asked to estimate the picture quality of this product to all TVs on display and was told aside from the 90 Neo QLED and LG OLED, the picture on this TV is probably better than all others displayed. We decided to purchase and are very happy thus far. Colors are bold and crisp. My wife mentioned she could not tell the difference in pictire quality between this model and the displayed 90 Neo QLED. We put this TV in a 24x13 room and the sound from the TV alone is adequate without a soundbar or surround sound speakers. In my opinion, this is a great buy this holiday season.

A lot of reviews here are saying that this tv 84A is the same as 85A except the speakers..... FAKE NEWS

The other VERY important feature is the MOTION RATE, the 84A has 120 and the 85A has 240 and if you watch sports this is HUGE.

I had the 85A but had to return because it was defective and since they didn't have another 85A in store I was told by a BestBuy representative that the only difference between the 2 are the speakers which was a LIE and I ended up with the 84A. The Motion Rate, the Speakers, the LED and also the procesor is better with the 85A, right now I'm waiting to get the 85 back in stock and switch it back.

The 84 is still a great TV but for only $100 the difference I'm sticking with the 85A.

The TV itself is pretty good. Wish the OS was a bit better. Seems like Samsung didn’t put a whole lot of thought into the OS. Setup was easy using the Samsung SmartThings app.

Jaw dropping display, amazing sound tracking, easy to use UI, and an amazing price. I have no complaints about this tv.

Great picture and love the size. I like the app features.
