I needed it right away. Could have got it cheaper on Amazon. I looked on Best Buy’s web sight. They had one in stock. I finally found the last one in the phone section of Best Buy. I took it home, formatted it and installed it in a new outside camera. It’s been working ever since. No problems what so ever.

Man, can you imagine showing this to someone in 2005? I guess the idea that a single game could be over 100 gigs would be mind blowing too...

Anyway, this works as storage and fits in a micro SD slot. What more could you want?

Digital space is always at a premium. Even though the standards regarding hard drive space have drastically changed - even in just the past five years - digital device users always seem to find a need for more space. One of those reasons is to save gaming data from game systems like the Nintendo Switch. The Switch happens to have an expandable memory option in the form of a Micro SD card slot, which is located under the pop-out stand. SanDisk, a trusted brand for memory cards, has a special edition of microSDXC cards made specifically for the Nintendo Switch.

This card is 128GB in size and boasts write speeds up to 90MB/s and read speeds up to 100 MB/s. The card is compatible with both the Nintendo Switch and the Switch Lite. It’s designed to work in hard environments and can even withstand water, high temperatures, airport X-ray machines, and shocks. This particular card is a special edition for the game Apex Legends. It has a logo emblazoned on it that indicates its connection to the game.

As one would expect, the card is packaged similarly to other SD cards. It’s in a cardboard-backed retail package that for some reason, I always have trouble opening. There is a dotted line that is meant to be cut so that the user can pull the card out of the container, but even after cutting directly across that line, I had to rip into the package in order to get the card out. The card does not come with any sort of carrying case. To use it, you simply insert the card into the Micro SD card slot and follow on-screen directions on the Nintendo Switch. I ended up having to complete an update on the Switch before it would recognize the card.

As far as the Apex Legends game goes, I was a little confused if the card itself provided any sort of special download option for the game, but as it turns out, the game is free to download (with in-app purchases) from the Nintendo e-store. I started the download and it ended up taking around 2.5 hours to complete. The game was saved directly to the microSDXC card and took approximately 19.2 GB of space. It’s worth noting that you must have a Nintendo account in order to play the game since it’s online-based. I have multiple users on my Switch and two of them do not have online accounts. As you start up the game, you will find that you also need an EA games online account, too. Other than the branding on the card, it does not seem as though the connection to the Apex Legends game affects the operation of the card at all. There are actually other versions of the microSDXC card that provide different capacities and feature different color/branding designs.

To access the storage options of the card, navigate to System Settings on the Switch and select Data Management. Here you will be able to see how much System Memory and microSD card space is remaining. There are menu items that allow users to move data back and forth between the two storage options, manage software, and screenshots/videos that are being saved. Without changing any of the defaults, the Switch automatically started saving data to the microSDXC card. I didn’t notice any slow downs during gameplay because of this. To test the copy/transfer option between the system memory and card, I transferred all the screenshots (11 in total) from the system memory to the card. The transfer only took about 2 seconds.

To test the read/write speed of the card itself, I connect it to my computer via a USB-C dock. The card appears on the desktop as an attached hard drive and you can access the contents. Items like photos and videos can be opened or copied to your computer if you wish. The game data is also visible as files, but it’s not a file that your computer would likely recognize. Using Blackmagic Disk Speed test I verified the read/write speed of the card. I ended up with a measurement of 82.8 MB/s WRITE and 89.9 MB/s READ. These readings are about 8% and 10% less than the maximum write/read speeds that are reported in the specs of the card. It’s important to note that card speeds could have been affected by the USB-C connection between the dock and the computer.

The microSDXC card is a very good option for additional space on the Switch. I’m glad that it's an option that Nintendo included on it’s gaming device and this seems to be a good partnership between SanDisk and the gaming company. The cost is reasonable and the card seems to be a robust storage option for the gaming system.

SanDisk has long been a very reliable name when it comes to Micro SD cards, and when my son asked me if he can get a new SD card for his nintendo switch I got the opportunity to get him this card that has some other interesting features.

it is 128GB which means he can store a lot of game saves on it, it is water, shock, heat, and airport X-Ray resistant meaning it will have a longer life cycle and it supports up to a 100 MB/ second for read and 90 MB/ second for write which is fast...very fast. it also supports 4K UHD video play (depending on device, internet speed, and file size).

and most importantly, this is the Apex legends edition which meant that my son can now play his favorite game on Switch as well beside playing it on ps4 and PC. the game was free to download and playon Nintendo e-shop.

I am very satisfied with this product and the price is right as well.

Good SD card for the Nintendo Switch. I haven't noticed any performance decrease over the games installed in the SD card vs the system memory. I choose this one because of the Apex Legend branding, so keep in mind you are paying for the looks too.

I received this Mini SD card at no cost for an honest review. It has fast read speeds and at 128GB, it holds plenty of games. I added 50 gigs worth of content and my Switch is running without a hitch. Just realize that your read/write speeds may be limited by your hardware (like your PC/Laptop) if you are transferring files but in the Switch, it will work optimally. This card can of course be used in any Mini SD card application. It states it is waterproof, but I don't intend on testing that feature. It is also appropriate for 4K contenting case you'd like to use it for video recording or photos. A little disappointed it didn't come with an SD adapter card for the computer but luckily I had some spares. I recommend it. It's also a Nintendo Switch branded product so that's cool. You will have to format it before use but your Switch will automatically do that when you put it in the system.

Got the memory card to compete the accessories for my Nintendo Switch Lite. I love the red color and the Nintendo logo. It makes it look legit and very cool thing show to your friend. It reminds me the red memory card for the N64. If your a big fan of Nintendo you got to have it.

This card turned out to be the red version with the mushroom head on it! I was super pumped to see that when I opened the package. I won't ever need to purchase another card, this thing has more than enough space, especially for someone like me who basically only purchases physical versions of games. Installing it is simple too, just place it under the kickstand on the back and then follow the instructions to update your system, poof you're done.

With only 7 MB of space left, I got the 128 GB on sale and was excited to finally download the games I bought but didn't have the room to play but unfortunately this Sandisk seems to be defective.

I turned the Switch off, put in the chip, and it said that it needed to be formatted (gives the option to do so right after), it then restarts the switch and the same formatting error pops up. I tried doing it through systems, taking out the chip, restarting the device and waiting for a while before trying again and the error still pops up.

Looking around online, this error has happened to several people with this particular SD chip; the problem can be remedied by getting a new one that wasn't apart of the faulty batch.

I plan on exchanging mine since the price was so good but I recommend skipping out on this one and getting a different SD altogether to avoid the chances of getting a broken one.

These work great. I bought my twins the Switch a few years back. They barely used them. Well, now they want to use them all the time. I was unaware the memory in these are enough for maybe a game. So I was off to find storage. I bought some other scandisks unaware the one for the switch has to be a micro! Returned the others and was referred to these. They are made especially for the switch. Nintendo branded stuff is nice, but this SD card is overpriced, if you are a mega fan then I guess I can understand you wanting this but you are paying a premium for a painted version of a cheaper product. I think it’s awesome to have a nice looking SD card but this is something you would occasionally look at, with that said it’s a good reliable product, this is one of the best micro sd companies so it is a good product, but you are paying for the branding.

I'd say, if you can afford it, bypass any smaller SD cards and jump to this one or something of a higher size. If you plan on buying lots of digital games on switch, this is definitely a must.

the nintendo switch is a very good console, but storage is something it lacks. It comes with 32 GB of internal storage, to get more you must buy an SD card. I got this card on sale for 60$, and man is it worth it. I highly reccomend these while they are on sale, as the more expensive ones can be up to 100$ off!

If you play and download a lot of games then this 256GB memory card will be more than enough. I don't like having to deal with the hassle of deleting games just to make room for new ones. Also I bought this so I wouldn't have to keep switching different memory cards and I can just manage all my games in one.

I bought this memory card for its flexibility of use, and good past history with the SanDisk brand. I have used it mostly in a camera, where it has been reliable and quick to take data transfer. Because of its capacity, I can also use it in cell phones, and in tablets as needed. It has been a good value because of its speed and reliability.

When I purchased this memory card I really felt like I was getting a huge bargain at the price I paid because SanDisk is a well known good product and with 32GB of storage , that's a good size amount. The memory card has worked out perfectly and I would buy it again.

great little (32GB) memory card - works well and priced right

I've had this memory card for more than a month and so far I haven't had any problems with it. I was able to transfer all my data from the old memory card into this new card without any issues. Nintendo support provides useful instructions on how to do it, also YouTube contains videos with helpful instructions for those who are visual learners.

This card was used for my GoPro and originally for my photography school project. Not only did these photo get me an A in the class but I have used the Camera for photos of my grandson swimming. I never ran out of storage space, and didn't miss a moment.

Thank god I got the Red & Gold Extreme version, even thought it was a little bit more than the other, but it was worth it since the Read & Write is Super fast.

As I was importing the GoPro footage via this MicroSD, it completed it so fast that I thought that it really hadn't transferred since my older ones took a good 5 minutes to transfer if not more...

If you have the new 3+ Black edition of GoPro you will want this one since you can do 4K footage.

I bought this for my cars dash cam and it works flawlessly. I am able to remove the mini card and install it into the SD so I can download footage.

This microSD has been a great purchase. I dropped in water and thought I ruined it so when I went to reread the package noticed it was waterproof, thank god it is still in perfect condition.

The card was easy to insert into my PC, which recognized it immediately, therefore no setup time involved and no compatibility issues:) File transfer time is fast indeed and the card has more than enough size to accomplish what i need it to do. excellent memory card for camera & class to take and store photo's

The memory card was larger than what I needed, but the smallest size I could buy in-store. It works just fine, and with it being larger, hoping I won't need to buy another one anytime soon. I'm using it for my old GPS unit that sucks to my car windshield - wanted to update it for a trip north. It told me I didn't have enough memory to update (that's a first!), and told me what size memory card to buy and install. Did that, and did the update, and no problems, so hoping it will continue for a few more years - I really don't like tossing electronic items away just bkz they get outdated! The memory card was a perfect solution!

Bought for use with my new Switch (OLED). Works great and can store tons of games and data. Nice not having to worry about game cartridges and a worthwhile addition if you’re looking to own to a digital game library that goes wherever your Switch can. What can I say? It's SanDisk, it's high capacity, and it's adorable, even if you never see it. I bought it because it's Animal Crossing themed and I had a rewards certificate I needed to use which covered over half the cost. I will be unlikely to run out of space!!

The switch immediately will prompt for update once the memory card is inserted. It’s amazing how much space this had. I’ve loaded dozens of titles and still have plenty of space.

This is a really good flash drive. It is really fast at 30mbS write speed and works in older devices that can only support up to 32GB disks like my camera,tablets,phones and computers and works great in an adapter for the other slot types too. I bought several if these when on sale on recommendation of friend another customer. SanDisk makes great products and always happy with them.

Working as it should be! So far it's working smoothly with the decent speed I would expect on my Samsung Note 20 Ultra 5G.

This card does not perform anything close to what it claims. I compared it to Sandisk Extreme 128Gb card, which I planned to replace with this, and it only performed marginally (a hair) better than the Sandisk. On the MAC I ran the AmorphousDiskMark (equivalent to CrystalDiskMark) and the Blackmagic Disk Speed test. The two were just about identical. The Sandisk claims 160/90MBps vs. Samsung 160/120Mbps. I was looking for the higher write speed. However, they both did approx. in the range of 91/81Mbps (see pics). So from a write speed perspective, the Sandisk was on the money, NOT the Samsung, even with its claim of Pro Plus. Disappointing with the Sandisk is quite a few years old and the Samsung was recently released. Sandisk is cheaper and has better write performance overall (in fact, the 256Gb Sandisk may be better?). I will get that tomorrow.

I bought this card for use in my Nintendo Switch. It has been working perfectly and I didn't pay extra money just so the card could say Nintendo on it.All you have to do is format it which is very easy because the switch will prompt you. This card is hanging up with the computer memory stuff and when I asked the salesperson for the micro sd cards he took me to the more expensive ones in another area. When I specifically asked for this one he showed me where it was. A word to the wise "Always check the website first" people seem to "forget" the sale items when you ask for help.

My old memory card in my Galaxy S20 finally gave up the ghost after use in 3 other phones. I installed this card and it was an amazing upgrade from the one that died. It is faster than my other one even when it was new. I had no problems transferring pictures between my phone and computer. Wish I had upgraded it sooner.
