    Worth every cent!

Picture blew me away!! When I got home with it I watched the final two episodes of Squid Game on Netflix and can’t even count how many times I said Wow! I love the super low profile and how it hides all cords and looks amazing on my tv stand. This tv is so good my roommate came in after I setup and we watched the new trailers for Bond and Free Guy and he left my room saying he wanted to buy one. I’m just beyond impressed with how good the picture looks how quick it responds , the google tv is perfect. The sound is amazing and great amount of bass and how it reflects off the wall is impressive. I have 0 complaints about this tv . Just can’t wait for it to get the VRR which they are promising is coming. 10/10

    In love with this OLED

Love this tv. This is my first time buying an OLED TV and I realized now why there is such an big hoopla about picture quality of OLED vs LCD tvs. I have next level of admiration for 4K content through this TV now and colors along with intensity of black on screen is mind blowing. After buying this TV I am not sure I will ever go back to an any LCD tv, and yeah not even to those Samsung neo qleds. This TV is way ahead of the competition.

    Great OLED TV

I love this OLed tv. I did a lot of research and I decided on this one. Right out of the box the picture is phenomenal. I have had the TV for about three weeks now and so far I am very happy. I decided to take the extended warranty just in case. At first I was looking at the a90 but it was just way out of my budget and the A80 the picture was great I’m very happy with it so far highly recommend. I love my Sony.

    Great TV for wall mounting

Great image, great sound, but the stands are very low if you want place a soundbar in front of the TV. But if you are going to hang the TV on the wall that won't be an issue, but use two people to place it on the wall.

The most immersive experience I've had so far

So I bought this tv a while back and I'm only now doing a review just because I was so busy just watching and enjoying content on the tv that I couldn't work up the will to interrupt my experience to make this. It truly is that impressive.

First, I'm going to start with the smart features. Google tv with Sony is truly a match made in heaven.

As we all know, previous android tv versions haven't been the most responsive and fluid experience so I was really shocked and impressed by just how nicely it runs on this set.

In all the months I've had it, I've not once experienced an app or OS crash and only once did I ever experience something taking an extra second to respond to a click. Truly a leap forward in this experience and kudos to Sony for optimizing as well as they have with the chosen chipset.

Moving into the meat of the review, the picture quality, this is definitely one of Sony's best showings I've ever seen. They've really gone all out in ensuring this is the next viewing experience you're ever going to have.

The pictures I've attached don't do any justice to the real life experience of watching content. It really is one of the most immersive experiences I've had.

The ability of the display to show all of the detail in the source is really remarkable it's something that you really need to experience.

The scaling is so good that when I'm watching YouTube videos I don't even check the resolution anymore because it always looks so good. I don't know how many times I've been watching a video thinking that's it's 4k only to look and see it's actually streaming in 480p (darn YouTube auto setting).

The color is also outstanding on this set, you don't get any of the forced saturation or not quite right hues that you can get from other tvs but that doesn't mean it doesn't pop out and make itself known when it needs to, it's just uses a balanced approach that ensures everything looks good and you don't get any artifacts or banding in the image.

The same goes for the brightness of the set. If you really push it this thing is a light cannon (just switch anything to vivid mode) if you want it to be but it's brightness is best served in the controlled method that is usually Sony's preference. Rather than just having it always be "ON" it makes much more effective use of saving it where it will make the most impact and provide the most detail in the image.

Motion is the last picture quality element that I wanted to touch on. I've felt with the X1 ultimate chipset that motion had taken a step back in some regards compared to the X1 and X1 extreme especially with the removal of the cinemotion high and low toggle with it just being an off or auto control and I was never able to reach a happy medium.

I'm very happy to report this is no longer the case. The finetuned algorithm with the XR chip is very impressive and much more realistic to me especially with the restoration of the cinemotiin settings to really allow you to find what settings make you the most happy.

I personally generally leave the smoothness and clearness motionflow settings at min and cinemotion on high so the cinemotion does all of the conversions and frame interpolation/blending but I've also enjoyed having smoothness at 1 and clearness at 1 to take advantage of X motion clarity so feel free to experiment and see what you like.

Taken all together, one can't help but to marvel at how natural and pristine the image really is. They've really taken the holistic approach and revisited all of the pillars that make a Sony one of the best in the business. Watching shows, movies, videos on YouTube or playing games on one of the next gen consoles is always just super enjoyable.

Regarding sound, it as always on the OLED models is really good especially with the new room calibration feature they've added for this year. If you don't have a soundbar or some external sound system, you don't generally need to rush out and get one (especially for those that want clear dialogue this tv excels at it) but for those really wanting to experience Atmos or DTS:X in all it's glory you will want to consider adding at least a soundbar on.

Speaking of which, I had mentioned this before in one of my previous reviews as something that they should consider for the future but Sony has finally provided a way to allow the TV's to act as the center channel in a home theater system.

When using one of the new Sony sound systems for this year (HT-A5000, HT-A7000, or HT-A9) you can connect it to the S Center Speaker input and have them work together as some other brands do with their TV's and soundbar. I'm really glad that Sony was thinking along the same lines I was and worked on making this feature because it does add that much more value to the package.

Input lag when gaming is excellent. It's very fluid and there's no hint of any perceivable delay which is great.

Really the only negative I have regarding the tv is that only 2 of the 4 HDMI Inputs are HDMI 2.1 compatible. I thought after the original hurdle that HDMI 2.0 provided we would've been past this but for HDMI 2.1 it's the same split experience.

It's 2021 and this isn't the first year that HDMI 2.1 has been out nor is it the first time that a revision has happened in recent history so imo there is no excuse to only have 2 compatible ports ESPECIALLY when one of those ports is the eARC port so if you happen to have a sound system as well as a PC or more than one next gen console, you're going to have to make a compromise somewhere.

All in all, I'm very impressed with the performance on offer here and truly do think it's one of the next experiences you can get.

I can't declare it the definitive best because the A90J does have the heatsink for allowing higher peak brightness (although the A80J gets you about 90-95% of the way for 1k less in price in general) and as I reside in the states I can't speak on top-tier OLEDs from other brands (especially Panasonic who is also legendary in the industry) but taking all of the above performance for the price on offer I believe the A80J occupies the sweet spot that makes it the overall best pick and it should definitely be a top contender for anyone's purchase list.

    Gret TV for the price

Glad I went with the Sony over the comparable LG. Didn’t think I was going to use built in app. But I basically only use them because of how seem less everything is. There is a lot of settings which can be good and bad. But overall I am impressed with the PQ and all the features for the price point.

    YES

The best TV I have ever owned. If you can spend a little extra, pull the trigger on this one. Gaming is unparalleled, regular content looks fantastic, and movies look amazing. The only con in my case is the included stand makes it almost impossible to use a sound bar (on the same surface level). However, the stock speakers sound great.

I have seen a few review about how this TV may not be a good idea for a bright room, but it looks great in my bright window filled living room. I have been using the Apple TV 4K and the PS5 mostly for content and it is just amazing. Enough of this love fest, I need to go watch AEW Dynamite. Love y’all.

    OLED FOR LIFE

This is the life! So the upscaling from a DVD or Blu-ray disk is absolutely incredible, dvd looks like a blu ray content, a blu ray looks almost like a 4 k disk and a 4K disk looks real life! I had the CX OLED n the C1 is so much better, brighter, better upscaling. Check my YouTube channel for a review on content and I also have a video demonstrating an XBOX SERIES X, I love it and will never buy an LCD tv ever again, OLED FOR LIFE

    Best TV Ever!

I finally bought my dream tv this year when it went on sale for $1799. I am so happy with this TV. I honestly didn't calibrate it and just turned motion smoothing off and the Game Optimizer setting. PS5 games looks incredible and plays so well there is zero input lag. I have never seen video games with such detail and vibrancy! Movies and TV shows in HDR looks phenomenal as well!

Sound quality is pretty good especially if keep it on the TV stand. It loses a bit when you wall mount it.

LG OS is good as well but I barely use it since I watch most of my shows on the PS5. So not much to complain about.

Overall I am super happy with this TV. I am glad I caught the sale and I will probably be satisfied for at least 3-5 years!

    Great TV

This TV is top of the line in my book,. The OLED picture is incomparable. The Smart TV features have been great to use.

The only downside I've run into is weak written documentation, both for setup and operation. The multi-language pictographs included for setup were incomprehensible. The online help wasn't much better. The downloadable operator's manual is better, but hard to find.

    Gaming tv

This is my first OLED and this tv does not disappoint. If you combine your next gen gaming with a quality sound bar like the Sonos arc the sky’s the limit. I’m not a fan of webos but if you get a 4K fire stick makes for a smoother OS experience.

    Great

I like it for gaming and regular tv watching. It has great colors, although it needs to be calibrated. I did a simple calibration I saw on YouTube by turning it to vivid and turning off the blue light setting. The blue looks nice too though. I was playing a Ps5 game, assassins creed black flag. Older game. And it was a noticeable difference switching from my older qled to this oled. Definitely recommend this tv.

These are a few pics from YouTube I just took on my phone for the review lol. It definitely looks better in person. But I hope this helps a bit. =)

Fantastic TV - But you need friends to install it.

This is the first new TV that I have bought in 10 years.

I researched this TV and purchased it because it is currently the best set for next generation gaming with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and four HDMI 2.1 ports. The input lag is minimal as well. Playing a game like Thumper which requires quick actions was no problem.

The picture quality is excellent and the set is very premium as it should be for the cost. Even in a lit room, the picture is still sharp with minimal glare.

I went to calibrate it using the THX optimizer and there were minimal adjustments to be made.

The speakers on the TV don't get very loud but I do have a Soundbar that connects via ARC so that I can still get premium sound without losing the benefits of HDMI 2.1

The UI on the TV is pretty sluggish and I only use it to switch to gallery mode to protect the screen while it's on (OLED is prone to burn in so you want to take care of your TV set) I do wish that you could use your own images instead of the provided ones.

The installation process was a bit tricky since the TV is so large - the included mount is designed to have the TV fit flush to the wall however getting the two small bolts on the back of the TV to fit into the wall mount was tricky even with two people handling the TV.

Also it's not really said in the manual, but you will need a recessed outlet box for the TV to fit flush with the wall. I put all my cables through the wall for a very clean finish- the TV looks like a picture frame. I do wish that I had set the recessed box a bit lower because the HDMI cables do bring the TV a bit off the wall, but when I put other framed art around it, it shouldn't be noticeable.

Overall - I would recommend this TV to anyone who plans to mount to the wall - if you are using a TV stand - I would go with the C1 instead since the G1 does not include a stand.

    Worth the money.

Hanging perfectly on the wall, this 65” TV was an excellent choice. Our previous 40” was an LCD and ten years old. Yes it is expensive, relative to other TV’s probably just as nice for most viewers. We wanted the latest, greatest, with very good reviews on the internet for our replacement. This G1 fit the requirements. We’re hanging it like a picture on the wall, not with a swivel mount. It’s sort of difficult to accurately attach the TV to the bracket, even with positioning tape markers included. Be prepared to ask two friends to help you: one to help hold and the other to stand on a ladder, looking over the top, to help line up the TV into the bracket locks.

Please realize that what you see on the store demo, is generally TV’s set to the brightest, contrasts, sharpest picture settings. We were unsure how standard HD would look “up rezed” to 65”. I was amazed! If you take some time and tone down the TV to reality, you’ll still appreciate the depth of detail in both the blacks and whites. I started with the “cinema” setting, went network to network, and played with the individual settings within “cinema” to give me what I wanted in a TV. I’m in the TV production business. My viewing requirements might be very different than your’s. If so, you’ll still be happy with this TV’s preset picture settings.

    Beautiful TV GORGEOUS PICTURE

Best TV I’ve owned by far period end of story. This is my first oled tv and I couldn’t be more happy easy to use and understand. The no gap wall mount included in the box plus all the other goodies this TV offers did it for me, my decision was between this and the A90J from Sony. Both great but this one is almost a 1000 dollars cheaper so no brainer. Definitely recommend it 100%.

Best TV for Your PS5 or Xbox Series X

This tv is top of the line when it comes to quality. You can game 4K with 120 FPS. As well it is a must that you choose to watch your streaming apps through your this tv. You can see the difference when you watch Netflix through the app of the tv apart from a fire stick or even your gaming console. As well it’s great that HBO Max is finally available to download. If your looking for a tv that is great for this generation of gaming then look no further than this beauty.

    LG G1 is Perfection

Don't get fooled with Sony and Samsung's "Trick or Treat" gimmicks. I purchased the Flagship Sony A90J 55inch and was sooooo let down with pretty much everything it offered that I returned it for an even bigger Upgrade the Flagship Qn900A Samsung 65 8k set. I very much love Samsung and never had any problems with any tvs over the years until this 8k set. The 8k is amazing, its the best picture quality hands down. But there is limited 8k content and the Screen had this Strange yellowish circular ball that was offset in the center of the screen That ruined the TV for me and for anyone else that would get this model. Plus it had this strange dimming feature that was never active but yet the screen would dim itself so low yet dim itself so low out of nowhere it was only on a few settings I believe it was standard in cinema and I made sure that none of the ecosystems were on and they were off! I had nothing adjusting the brightness but yet the glitch of the TV would automatically adjust to the room so that was another reason to ditch the TV. Then I got the Best overall Tv ever the LG G1 65inch. Its perfection in everyway possible. It takes your breath away every time your watching or using the TV. After adjusting a few settings the TV was perfect! Plays Call of Duty the best out of all the sets Sony would be the 2nd best. Films and movies on the G1 are are so amazing that when compared to Sony and Samsung it destroys them even but together it will destroy them the overall picture quality on the G1 is something to behold if you are gonna spend any money on upgrading your TV and you're thinking about the Sony or Samsung trust me you want to get the LG G1 you will be disappointed in fine errors and Sony and Samsung sets like I did. I didn't want to find any errors on those sets but they were flawed. Plus the Sony TVI purchased didn't come with the flagship sticker that's on the TV which I thought was very strange considering watching all the reviews of the T v's on YouTube that every TV had the flagship sticker on it and since mine didn't and I even called Sony and then never returned my phone call and the guy on the phone told me that that was very strange that every TV that you buy should have that flagship sticker on it and since it didn't that I was gonna get a phone call back that never happened I never have received a phone call from Sony they must not care about their customers because they don't care about me at all They never even called. Thankfully Best Buy and the Magnolia team handled everything so well that made my experience so much more greater than it could be. I had major problems with both of my tvs (the Sony and Samsung) I went in there and Matt and the crew handled all the returns so well that I would recommend buying anything from those guys and if you ever had any problems with anything you can trust in the team there! Great job to the Bestbuy and Magnolia Crew for helping and being great at what they do.

    Freaking phenomenal

I mean, just look at this picture. It looks that good, or even better, in person. When art is showing, I often just stop to marvel at how good it looks.

This TV saved our marriage. I seriously didn't want some huge black square taking up this part of the living room. I wanted art instead. My wife, though, absolutely wanted a TV here. Technology caught up at exactly the right time.

Our wall above the fireplace has a niche for the bracket. With this model, that actually isn't normally necessary because it comes with a flat bracket that mounts on the top center. BUT, our wall doesn't have studs in the right place. So the installers (who were amazing) figured out a way to use an alternate bracket that fits in the niche and can mount to the studs.

    Fantastic!

I was the proud owner of a 55" LG C7. This TV replaced it and I do not regret it. The picture is stunning on anything on it from 4K down. Wall Mount is small so I hit one stud on the left side but had to use wall anchors for the right. It does not come with Hardware you need to mount it to a sheet rock wall.

First power on setup was easy, it found everything hooked to it on it's own, it has more features than my C7 had. Plus more steaming services built in.

Sound: It is very weak and not up to the standard of the TV. Either buy a good soundbar ($1000+) or hook it to your Home theater. That is what I did, I have an LG SJ9 but it had HDMI issues connecting to the ARC port so I was constantly having to change the input on the soundbar. The TV ARC is connected to my Marantz reciever, turns it on and off when the TV turns on and off.

I had my C7 professionally calibrated. Now this TV comes with preset video setting from ISF for both light and dark rooms!

The C1 is a great TV for the price but if you want to go a step up then get this TV. It is worth it and you will get a lot of enjoyment out of it. Feed it a good signal!!!

    They Got It Right!

I originally walked in to Best Buy with sole intentions of purchasing the LG CX 65 inch, but a funny happened, I spoke with one of the video representatives. As I was trying to gear up for the next gen consoles, and I realized the pricing on all these great televisions including the Sony’s. And realized that LG CX was geared towards gamers.

Not that I’m not a gamer but I’m an occasional gamer I’m not into online game play deeply. I’m more into cinema I love movies, broadcast football games, etc.

And I currently own an LG C8 which has an incredible tv by the way, and absolutely no so-called burn in or image retention issues AT All!!!

I get so tired of all this the sky is falling fear mongering about OLED TVs they fantastic televisions! I used to sell them at HHGREGG!!!!

But I’d been keeping my eye on the Sony’s for sometime and so when they started advertising they’re Black Friday prices I said whoa!!!

And I swerved into this Awesome A8H!!!!!

And my God!! The picture quality along with Sony’s processing has to be experienced to believed!!!!

I hear a lot of people complaining about it’s lack of 2.1 Hdmi and the 120 hz for gaming, I game but I’m not one of these Call Of Duty hardcore gamers.

The set suits me just fine!

I’m a realist, I know exactly who this television was meant for, and it is for people like myself who enjoy films and HDR content at its best!!!!

Oh almost forgot the incredible absolute black levels!!!!

And I thought the C8’s blacks were awesome!!!!

My C8 LG is a 55 inch by the way.......

I’ve been wanting a 65 inch OLED forever so this incredible set of coincidences to be able to purchase this colossal set!!

These televisions in my opinion are well worth the price because of what I get for my money and that just an amazing consistent picture!

    What are You waiting for!!!!

Sony the one and only !

I bought the LG CX and kept it for several weeks .I was no stranger to LG Oled ‘s had one previously .

Everytime I went into Best Buy I was drawn to the Sony, I could see more detail, the LG had a little more pop to it, but I prefer more detail.. I ran into the Sony Rep who there.. great guy ! He pointed out a few things and confirmed my opinions on the Sony... 3 days later the Geek guys delivered my new Sony and it’s a difference. Paired with the Panasonic

UB 9000, it is a sight to behold, Blu rays look like 4K discs. Just buy it, you won’t regret !

I pulled the trigger and got the best!!!

I purchased this item in the 65 inch size for my living room. I bought it on March 16 and didn't have a way to bring it home with me so I ended up picking it up on March 19. My brother had bought the same TV from Best Buy in Holland an hour before I bought my TV and I didn't know that until I called him to tell him that it was on sale. I took him to Best Buy on Alpine almost a month ago and showed him all the different TVs that they had and explained what to look for. I explained and showed him the cons and pros of every manufacturer and he kept going back to this XBR65A8H saying that he never saw such a perfect picture. Before I went to Best Buy to purchase this TV I called my brother to tell him about the sale price and he laughed telling me he was getting it out of his truck about ten minutes before I called. He said to give him a couple hours and he would try to make time to come over and I said to him just have fun and we could pick it up Friday. My brother helped me Friday and we picked up and brought the item home in the back of his pickup. Once we got to my house we took my 12 year old LG 60 inch plasma TV off the wall mount and put it standing up in the truck's back seat strapping it in good so we could use it in the party area of the garage at his place in Holland. I took the rest of the old wall mount off the wall and put that in the truck also. That plasma screen TV was heavy for this old man since I'm damaged and handicapped but the box that had the Sony in it was quite a bit lighter. We brought that in the house and slid the box off of the top and he had it ready to pick up from the rest of the box in a few minutes. He already did his Tuesday so he already knew how to do it all since he had experience from doing his TV. My brother told me how to pick it up and gave me the stand foot for my side and explained how to insert it. I was amazed how easy it was to put the stand up into the unit and we had it on my TV stand below where I was going to mount it when my mount arrived. We had it plugged in on the stand in less than five minutes after we brought the box in the house. I ended up unplugging all the HDMI cables from my Onkyo receiver since it was too old to pass 4k and plugged them into the new TV along with a simple Toslink optical to connect it all to the Onkyo. I sat down with the remote control and turned off the Onkyo since I knew it would take time to get the surround system sorted out again with the new TV and decided I would do that later. I turned on the TV and went through the steps it wanted to do and it surprised me that my 1080i feed from my Uverse looked worse than it looked on my old plasma set. I switched inputs to my Roku Ultra and went to HBO and pulled up a 24k movie and started it and the picture was amazing!!! I didn't even do any adjusting yet and the settings for colour and picture was still out of the box settings and that picture was as fantastic as the feed at Best Buy looked on the display unit. All I could say was oh my gosh wow as I watched part of the movie and knew I bought the best TV I would probably ever buy. I went back to the Uverse feed and started watching a game I had on the DVR and about an hour later I suddenly noticed something really amazing. I still hadn't touched any settings and what I suddenly noticed was that the feed had slowly gotten better and it was already better than my plasma. The lower resolution AI had already started learning and changing the feed slowly upgrading the picture past the original and it was better than 1080p but not really 4k and that only took an hour. WOW!!! Now it's Saturday and I'm watching games from my Uverse DVR 1080i feed and they are simply amazing looking on this fantastic Oled TV and it hasn't even been a full day yet. Not 4k but between 1080p and 4k and I am so happy I purchased this XBR65A8H because I have the most amazing viewing that is so much better than my crystal clear plasma set and I still haven't even touched any of the settings. I can't attest to the longevity of this item but for what I paid which was 2 grand I couldn't have bought a better TV at that price or even a higher price. I don't like the facial tones on the Samsungs and think that they really are kicking the pooch on that because they just never look right on their TVs. Not even the newer ones do they ever look right and even the displays have that problem and that's why they always show cartoon movies I guess when the display is on. The LG Oleds do better but the shadows have slight steps as the grays go to black and the Sony A8H do not have those steps. They are perfect actually for my old eyes to watch and study so the LG CX was out of my list because of that. All my statements are my OPINIONS only and I don't use special equipment to check this stuff out and only use my eyes. But for some reason my brother agreed with everything I showed him at Best Buy a month ago and he picked this TV as the best for his eyes also. My brother is honest when we are discussing things like this and he never paid over $400 for a TV in his entire life and he's almost as old as me!! But he paid $2000 for this TV and the day the price fell he was waiting at the door for them to open up so he could by this expensive TV. I was surprised that he was watching the price EVERY day and he told me that later while we were talking. This unit impressed him that much and this was the only TV he planned to buy and he planned that soon as I showed it to him at Best Buy. I'm going to let the TV just have the colour and settings that it wants to have for the first week and then I will start investigating the settings. All I can say is if this TV impresses you as much as it impresses me and my brother then you should buy it. If you can't afford it I would say to save your money and get it because you will really like it when you own one like I do and my brother does. I'm so very sorry if my review is so long and boring but I just wanted to let some of this amazing stuff out of me. I do have a Onkyo 7.1 surround system that I bought in 2011 and it still works perfectly. I have Klipsch R-625FA front speakers that have Atmos speakers built into the top of the towers and I have never been able to take advantage of that since my receiver doesn't have Atmos. I bought the front speakers about four months ago and bought the R-52 center speaker at the same time. I got the new sides and rear speakers a month later and they are the Klipsch RP-402S and they are absolutely amazing. I purchased the Klipsch R-112SW which is a 12 inch subwoofer with a 300 watt RMS amp built into it and that can shake your house apart!!. I plan on pulling the trigger and purchasing a new receiver that can pass 4k signals with all the best new sound and Dolby Atmos. I will need a 9 channel receiver this time since I will be making use of the Atmos speakers on the top of my front towers finally!!! I studied all about TVs and what I wanted for most likely my final TV for over a year and this XBR65A8H Oled ended up being my dream TV and I can tell you I wasn't wrong about it a bit!! IT IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and I haven't even started playing with it or adjusted it to perfection yet. All I can say is get which one looks the best to you while playing at a price level that you can live with. Take care and have a fantastic week my friend!!

    Beats a LCD Anyday

I use this for my home theater and in a dark room and it performs flawlessly. I was really surprised at the out of the box color accuracy. I have a 75" X950H in my master bedroom and though its a nice TV and larger. LCD's just do not compare to an OLED in a dark room. I usually only watch TV at night and perfect contrast that OLED's have and no light bleed makes it perfect.

    Great tv!

Great tv, very good sound, bright enough also, but i did notice alittle gap behind the tv where the screen and plastic meet. Nothing is wrong with the screen itself it could be a minor defect. Check out picture. Called sony they basically told me nothing they can do. But other than that small defect tv is great. I returned the 950H & purchased this yes the 950 was brighter but this tv is bright enough and the sound is alot better. Also for the amount of money this tv should have no defects at all.

    Great OLED and Picture Quality

Bought this tv with the 5 year warranty during the sale to cover burn-in while having piece of mind. The colors and picture quality are top notch and does not disappoint. This OLED is going to pair well with the PS5 releasing in a few weeks. If you plan on grabbing this set do yourself a favor and get warranty as insurance for piece of mind. Overall nice set.

    Worth every penny!

Best TV I have ever had. Even streaming from Disney + I can’t wrap my head around how truly awesome the picture is. I had this wall mounted over some ship lap and relocated my outlet to hide the wires. 100% happy with this purchase!! I am glad I listened to the Best Buy employee because I was about to buy something else haha! The TV does draw a lot of power so make sure your outlet is set up for that! I flipped my breaker plugging the vacuum in while the tv was on but I installed a new outlet and all is well now.

    Absolute best gaming TV ever!

Let me start this review off by going right at everyone's fear that want to buy an Oled TV but fear the word "Burn in" by stating the history of OLED TVs I've owned. I am a heavy gamer and my tv is on for over 8+ hrs a day between my little one, my wife and then myself gaming at night. I had a C6 that developed burn in after 2 years (roughly 8000 hrs in) gaming heavy and not understanding the whole "burn in effect". My warranty replacement was the C8 and I gamed even longer and harder on this set and had 0 burn in effects. The company has made huge strides in helping almost eliminate this from happening. Can it happen if you leave a static image on screen for hours upon hours, weeks after weeks, months after months? Yes! But knowing this and just in generally speaking, not many people watch the same thing every day for hours on end without mixing it up? It's very rare with these current models because of all the tools LG added to the TV like Screen shift, Screen saver, Logo Luminanve Adjuster and Pixel Refresher. You do not have to worry about burn in with these new sets.

First off, the picture quality is top notch. I dont think there is another tv on the market (especially at $2800) that produces this level of on screen beauty. Color accuracy, pure black levels really make the colors pop off the screen, amazing contrast, etc... Anyone who says these tvs dont get bright enough have not sat in front of the tv. Its blinding! The HDR is beautiful! The upscaling is the best this series has ever had to offer. I believe they stressed the new A9 gen 3 chip was heavily focused on improving the upscaling, and you can really see it with this model (especially coming from a C8). The AI Picture and Sound features are huge upgrades and the great thing about them is you get to see a first hand example of their effects in the tv setup options. The AI picture mode really does a great job with human faces. The AI sound mode really helps single out the talking over the loud background sounds. In general it makes the tv so much louder at lower volume settings.

Now on to the reason I wanted this TV so bad and what makes this tv the best in the business. It is designed to be a gaming tv. Usually when you think Oled, you are thinking about a high quality 4k movie watching tv. Well now not only is it that, but now it's a top notch gaming tv that easily rivals the best gaming monitors out there. It is fully future proof for the new systems coming. The tv has HDMI 2.1 which the new systems will take advantage of. It has insanely low response times with 4k 120hz BFI (Black Frame Insertion. It comes with built in Nvidia G sync and VRR. The Xbox X currently let's you use VRR and auto low latency on this tv along with 1440P 120 if desired.

Graphically it's the best looking tv I've ever gamed on. The HDR lighting is much improved from my C8. I think because this set gets a bit brighter than my C8. It also has Dynamic tone mapping which adds a beautiful little extra brightness to your game picture quality (if you prefer it). And it also has HGIG but as far as I understand, not many games use it currently so I notice the lighting still looks better with Dynamic Tone Mapping alone without the HGIG. Also I notice in faster moving games that I have more control. Like in NHL Hockey 20 and Call of Duty, I can actually feel a difference in what I assume to be the better response time with VRR and Auto low latency checked on. I'm not sure what exactly technology is working here but all I can say is what I physically feel. And it's an improvement from my C8. (More control) I cant imagine how it's only gonna get better as the new systems are improving these areas.

I must apologize for all the things I've left out, like the amazing operating system WebOS which is silly smooth and fast controlled by the magic remote (which is like a Wii remote you point and click). Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, HDR 10.

All in all, I highly and strongly recommend this tv for anyone looking to upgrade. If you are a movie buff or a gamer, this tv is a no brainers. The best part is it is close to $1000 cheaper than its usual release price. Kudos to LG for getting it out with a great price point. Get this tv and enjoy its beauty!

Pictures I post dont do it justice. My camera cannot capture the detail and it add blooming that is not visible on my tv. Black is black!

    Love love live this tv

Had been using a Sony Bravia x900e 49" tv for the past year or so but i didnt like the halo effect i would get on a dark image. Decided to upgrade to an OLED and omfg i love this tv. From the look to the images this tv is a beast. Legit two other people in my family have now bought this tv after seeing mine. There's nothing to think about just by it. You will need two people to get it in place though. Screen is thinner than a pencil so an extra hand is a must. You will no regret your purchase you have my word. I honestly regretted the sony the entire time i had it. Send the 2,200 and save yourself an extra tv upgrade. I will not need an upgrade until 8k is were 4k is now. Only suggestion is maybe wait till February for the 2021 line up and the CX should be at least 300-500 dollars cheaper

    Totally happy!

More amazing than the reviews. And when people say thin, we’re talking like those cartoon fish that turn sideways and the you can’t see them thin. It is quite sturdy, and my wife and I got it hung without incident. It’s literally an inch or so too big for the space we have and we’ve both plowed into the side of it without damage to the tv. You’re not buying this model for the sound quality so do invest in a sound bar. No idea why reviewers complain about the mouse function on the remote. I find it works great.

My only complaint is of the malcontented guy at Best Buy who brought out our tv. He refused to put it in our car because it would be in its side. He told us to rent a truck! We put it in our car ourselves and guess what? It was packaged appropriately to be driven home. I hope he’s found another line of work.

THE BEST GAMING TV EVER!!!! (4K DISCS TOO)!

WOW. I've had a high end Samsung LED QUHD TV for four years now and after turning this baby on, WOW. You cannot get better than this. I popped in God of War on my PS5 and was blown away. LoTRs in 4k looked amazing too. The blacks are black as night. This TV just disappears in dark scenes and the contrast with brights and colors - WOAH. I waited/searched for 4 months until this TV came back in stock and let me tell you - it was worth the wait. 12/10!

The Best TV Of The Year!

If you want deep blacks and infinite contrast with the best viewing angles than any other TV, This LG CX is a beauty to watch; I’m loving it. Let me add to this; it has 4 hdmi 2.1 ports at 4K 120hz with Freesync and G-sync, Dolby Atmos/Vision and as well HDR, Apple AirPlay and smart commands with Alexa and Google. The LG CX is fully loaded.

    Amazing!

This is an amazing TV. Perfect color and blacks. Have had for over a year now with no problems. Use with a Firestick 4k. Very scary to install. Screen is so thin. We ended up placing the base on a stand then lifting the panel into place. Still married :-)

    Must buy

There is no doubt this is the king of TVs in America. To think I was going to get something else! Everything from the ease of use and setup to it literally being ready for PS5 out of the box was phenomenal. LG has really taken a lot of steps to prevent burn in across all content, too.

    Great Contrast, Awesome Picture

Moderate to Easy setup, nice speed on Android Operating system.

Disney Plus looks Great - Menus seem to be off in color, but the movies are excellent.

Amazon Prime - Works Awesome, Netflix Awesome - (Try "Our Planet" on Netflix).

HDR Content looks great with Dolby Vision, HLG and HDR10.

Mounting to the wall was great as Sony provides screws for the TV.

Remote is a bit long for me, but very functional. I still need to figure out how to get the remote to control the Bose System for Volume.

Just a tad expensive, when compared to Vizio and Samsung QLED (different format, but almost comparable)

    Picture keeps getting stuck

So upset as this TV is rated as the best. This is the second Sony TV in 10 months. The A8 was making electrical popping noises while it was OFF, after watching tv for several hours plus some other issues. Since I had Geek Squad warranty, I exchanged for the best 65” Sony the A9. The picture gets stuck while another station is playing in the background. I’ve had it for less than a month.. Sony tech support are heartless people and can hardly understand them as they’re outsourced. Now I have to contact Geek Squad yet again. On a final note, products are not as good as they use to be. Customer service in various companies have a don’t care attitude and only a few remain. Just my two cents.

    The messiah of OLED’s

The tv is astonishing, I just got it ISF professionally calibrated and I am at a loss of words. It’s as if you are looking through a window. Only downside is that tv sits right on the tv console and you cannot run wires to the back of the tv, you have to run it in front and around the tv to make any connections other than that the tv is well worth the price.

An industry-best panel plagued by LG firmware

Simply put, the panel in this TV is one of the best on the consumer market right now, but if you're reading this, you probably already know that. The GX models are exactly the same as the CX internally, with the main difference being the physical exterior. These GX displays are very thin and designed to fit flush against a wall. We purchased the 65 inch model (and also the matching LG GX Soundbar, reviewed separately).

The aesthetics of this TV once wall-mounted are stunning (see pictures). Of note, is if you don't want to wall mount it, you need to purchase the legs separately (which I believe also contains the back panels for the cable management compartments, not included in the main TV box). Even though the TV is thin, it's very heavy and requires two strong people to safely wall mount. The proprietary wall mount is also rather confusing to install. If you're installing into drywall with studs, know that the mount is made for 16 inch studs, with almost no adjustment for deviation, so if you're trying to center it somewhere, take that into account. The cable management in the back is also not great. If the TV would have included the cable comparment covers for the back panel, it'd be much less frustrating. If you have 4 thick HDMI cables, it becomes challenging to run the cables in such a way that the TV still sits flush on the wall.

None of that is my reason for knocking a star off, though. LG's firmware issues they had with last year's models have continued into this year's. Specifically, as you can find with some Google searches, there is a whole host of problems with getting G-Sync to work correctly when hooked up to a PC at 4k 120hz (using an RTX card), and requires a LOT of configuration and tweaking both on the TV and GPU driver (it definitely doesn't "just work"). I've also experienced a lot of inconsistencies using this TV's eARC implementation with the matching GX soundbar, where input changes can cause audio to drop completely, requiring a full power cycle.

Speaking of eARC, this is my main reason for knocking off the star: the X models do not support DTS decoding in ANY capacity, INCLUDING ARC/eARC passthrough. Which renders the benefits of eARC (mostly multichannel 5.1+ sound) void for a very big use-case for those of us with a large media collection (ahem, if you're a Nolan movie fan, better find alternative audio streams or a blu ray player that can decode/transcode the DTS stream for the GX!).

Our particular OLED panel did come with a decent amount of vertical banding in the 5-20% greyscale range. However, it has improved over time, with it now only being apparent up to about the 10-15% range. This isn't necessarily a negative, as all OLED panels of this physical size suffer from some kind of vertical banding visible in certain greyscale ranges. Also worth noting is to not necessarily fall for the Dolby Vision marketing. This panel is nowhere near capable of producing the 12 bit color depth to even worry about it -- it's all marketing.

As for the positives: the picture on this thing with 4k HDR content is truly breathtaking. Even more so once you get it working with some games beyond 60fps into the 120 range. The perfect contrast on this thing completely makes up for (and exceeds) any color depth shortcomings with competing Samsung models. The actual experience of watching content on this screen simply can't be beat - this is the pinnacle of normal consumer TVs right now.

The gallery app that displays art is a very nice touch. It would be nice to see more customization options with it though. All other apps and smart TV functionality works incredibly smooth.

Another surprising positive is the quality of the internal speakers. For a TV this thin, they have a lot of depth in sound. External speakers will of course be better, but I was not expecting the GX model speakers to be this good out-of-the-box.

Overall, one of the best TVs your money can buy right now. For me, however, the peculiarities with LG's firmware, G-Sync and eARC issues, and complete lack of DTS passthrough, significantly takes away from what is otherwise a perfect consumer TV for the aesthetically-conscious.

Wall Mounted and Beautiful!!! Oh happy day.

The picture quality is amazing. I was able to put the TV in "gallery mode" and display beautiful pictures of fine art that appeared to be actually hanging on the wall. Although this TV needs to be professionally mounted since there is no other way to display it, it is less than an inch from the wall and looks gorgeous. The inputs are on the back of TV and there are no visible wires so there is a clean look. There is a always-listening microphone and virtual assistant that uses ‘Hi LG’ as a wake phrase and includes a built in tuner with bright saturated colors and very dark blacks with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 making contrast levels seem more vibrant with ambient light sensor to optimize the content for your room. I have had the opportunity to test all the LG available apps and I absolutely love this ability. I have used my TV for streaming and watching regular TV. The picture quality is mesmerizing and the audio is cinema worthy.

    Well worth it!

Amazing picture quality! The LG - 65" Class GX Series OLED 4K UHD Smart webOS TV is a beautiful product and well worth the price. If you are sitting on the fence trying to decide between the BX, CX, or GX model, stop waiting. The GX is worth the extra price point and you will not be disappointed. The TV is super thin and comes with it's own wall mount that allows the TV to sit flush with the wall as long as your outlet is not in the way. The functionality of the LG Smart webOS provides access to all the popular streaming services and the setup user friendly and easy to follow. I was also concerned about the size, wondering if I could get the 77", but by using the measuring guide offered by Best Buy, we made the right decision. I highly recommend this model and size. When not watching amazing content that looks way to real, we enjoy the picture gallery function as well. Again, it is well worth it!

BEST TV IN THE STORE. If you want to spend somewhere near $20,000 then you might get the same picture quality. I went to the store and I am mediately knew that this was the TV I had to have. I walked around and couldn’t find any TV that could compare, especially in this price range. I wish they made it in a larger version so that I could have one for my basement. Get ready for an Immersive Experience!!!

Spectacular, astonishing, beautiful, breathtaking, are just a few words when describing the LG BX 65 OLED. It was time for us to upgrade our LG 30-inch LCD TV from 2008 and due to our great experience with LG we decided to stay with the brand. So, the next question was LCD or OLED? We knew the OLED had the top state of the art technology where each pixel produces its own light hence successfully delivering excellent clarity and picture detail. And, the panels are extremely thin. We also wanted a big TV that accommodates the allocated space and so we decided to go with the LG BX 65 OLED TV.

The TV was delivered to us on a pallet. Since the large size of the TV, I had my son help me with the unboxing of the TV. Assembly was easy. Initial setup was quite simple as well. My 8 year old daughter insisted on setting it up and was simple enough for her to follow the on screen steps (did help her with the wireless configuration).

The LG WebOS menu is easy to navigate. It has all the apps that you will need. There is no need for an external streamer as this is one stop for everything. And, with Apple’s Airplay system I was able to mirror my iPhone photos and videos without any glitch. Love love love the LG’s magic remote. The pointer makes navigation through the apps a breeze. Also, the voice control makes this a superior remote from its competitors.

You will enjoy the Filmmaker mode as the cinematic experience is out of the world. Finally, we get to enjoy movies as they are intended to be watched by the filmmakers. Hat’s off to LG for this experience. And when watching movies this mode is automatically activated. We got to firsthand experience it while watching Mad Max: Fury Road. It was jaw dropping. Everything on the screen felt so realistic. We were also quite impressed with the TV’s AI features to upscale a lower quality homemade videos that were take few years ago.

Viewing BX from any angle is not an issue. The picture quality does not degrade when viewing at an angle. I love it as I can watch the TV from the kitchen while I am cooking (viewing angle is about 55 degrees from location of the TV).

The base of the LG BX is quite low. Connecting our LG SL10RG soundbar was easy. Everything sounds so much better with this sound bar. To prevent cutting the bottom part of the TV you will need to elevate the TV or mount it.

We are so happy that we had got this amazing TV

I bought my OLED television 5 days ago and I'm very happy with my purchase I previously owned the 2020 QLED Q70T television and I can definitely say the OLED has a much better picture quality.

Makes visiting the movie theater irrelevant.

Sony - 65” Class BRAVIA XR A90J Series OLED 4K

I’ve owned a series of TVs over the past two decades that have been considered best of the year. So, that means my most recent TV was an LG OLED. It’s hard to believe that this SONY OLED, using LGs next generation panel could be so far advanced. This is a breakthrough. Before I break down some features I can assure anyone using the first few iterations of the LG panels that this one is a huge leap ahead. You need decide if it’s worth the considerable expense, but perfection does have a price.

PICTURE: Out of the box, using the CUSTOM PICTURE MODE, and following the advice of a few of the online TV review gurus for a few settings, the picture that results is stunning. Rich saturated colors stand out and contrast that ranges from velvety blacks to almost blinding highlights set the goalposts for the competition impossibly high. You’ll read some online reviews complaining that you really need XXX number of NITS (measurement of brightness) to be really able to exploit HDR programing. Good grief. Unless you want to wear sunglasses to watch your favorite shows the SONY is startlingly bright enough. Shadows are handled perfectly and variations of shade in dark scenes as well are areas of brightly lit sky have smooth gradation, zero stair-stepping, and a range of contrast that can not be matched by most other TVs.

ANDROID OPERATING SYSTEM: I’m a huge fan of both the APPLE OS and the ROKU OS for managing streaming and live programming. This SONY implementation of the ANDROID OS is very easy to get used to. I can prioritize and reorganize my favorite streams and receive a very easy-to-use programming management controlled by the well designed remote control. Visually and logically, SONY has matched the best TV operating systems out there. Operational speed and fluidity needs some work.

The SONY manages my attached audio system via the remote and some eliminates the need for supplemental remotes. The operating system hesitates occasionally and seems sluggish compared to my other streaming OSs, but I’m going to predict SONY will provide some updates.

SUMMARY: I don’t think the SONY Bravia XR A90J can be bested by any other TV on the market this year. I’m betting it will be difficult for SONY to improve on this TV’s picture quality for another few years. This may be the only TV I’ve owned for decades where I’ll forgo a professional calibration. It’s spectacular as is. Easy to recommend if you want the best TV on the market in 2021. This is a TV that makes movie theaters irrelevant, unless you prefer coughing, chattering crowds. Sit closer if you want your field of view filled. These Sony XR TVs are spectacular.

    A JAW DROPPING, STUNNING MASTERPIECE!

I've owned several oleds from LG and Sony and this one is by far and away the best for SDR, HDR, Dolby Vision, 4K, Cable TV, Sports, TV Shows and movies. The XR processor really improves the image, especially from subpar sources such as cable tv and low resolution content. HDR is very bright for an oled. It is 1300 in the useless vivid mode and about 825 nits out of the box according to my colorimeter and using the Calman software in the accurate "custom" mode. With a couple of tricks that are available in the forums and on youtube, I was able to reach over 900 nits without sacrificing any accuracy at all which is simply amazing! This translates to the best HDR experience ever. Yes, LEDs can get brighter but perceived brightness starts a full black which no LED can ever do. The combination of the perfect black level, class leading brightness, pixel level light control and stellar shadow detail thanks to the XR processor result in the best HDR image ever seen in a consumer television. There are a couple of cons with this tv, such as the built in youtube app does not display the proper color space in certain HDR clips. The auto color space setting gets stuck in BT709 and you have to manually go in and change it, but thankfully this is only an issue with the built in youtube app. Another issue there is a Dolby Vision mismatch with a couple of external streamers such as Roku, firestick and chromecast. However, most external streaming devices and 4k bluray players wont exhibit this issue, as apple tv, nvidia shield, Panasonic ub820 4k blu ray player all have flawless Dolby Vision with this tv. Despite these minor flaws, I am still giving this work of art 5 stars since it currently offers the best available picture quality on the mark, and furthermore, all TVs will have minor flaws or quirks here and there. There is no such thing as a perfect TV, but this is as close as anything has ever approached in my honest opinion.

Go All The Way with The Best of The Best 100%

I made the best of the best choice with my 65 Inch A90J. I am fortunate enough to be a very close friend of the Top Reviewer on YouTube for Video and Audio. He was in the middle of doing a side-by-side Live comparison of the two OLED Flagships from Sony and LG. The A90J and The LG C1 and the Sony Bested the C1 **HANDS DOWN** in Total Picture Quality, Brightness, and Dolby Vision performance in color depth and incredible details in shadow areas. The Sony AI Engine Powered by Sony’s Cognitive Processor XR chip is simply awe inspiring. The gaming experience is a little better in the LG but when the picture quality is the focus *and it should be* it is no contest in all facets of the richness of color, color depth, and clearness and sharpness of shaded areas with unimaginable highlights. The Upscaling capabilities of The Sony AI XR chip has never before been experienced on this planet. You really need to see the content that will practically make you cry in its Ultimate Refined Glory. Such content can be found in the latest 4k UHD Dolby Vision release of Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, simply stupefying to watch. Oh, one last thing is the sound of the Sony Godzilla of TV’s is also almost too dam good for a TV another Stunning Sony achievement. So AJ90 = Godzilla, LG C1 = King Kong, and as you know A King can never best A God!! *Please keep in mind my picture is not representative of the Sony as I am not a cellphone camera picture taker pro...really I am pretty terrible at it...at best!

    Truly a master series TV

Absolutely impeccable, everything about this TV is top notch. Be weary of anyone claiming the a80j is close in performance to this TV with the only difference being brightness. If you know how to use the settings on your TV to take advantage of the xr processing this TV blows everything else on the market away.

For all the talk about LG gaming features no one ever mentions just how big of a gap in picture quality Sony has over LG this year in gaming.

Believe the hype! Worth every penny. The picture and sound are amazing, especially in a darkened room. There is no need for a soundbar as the speaker sound in this unit is far better than my previous Sony with a soundbar. The apps are easy to use as is the remote. I could not be happier.

    OLED picture, subpar processing

I’ve been in the AV industry for years, and this TV is great, but could be better. This is for people who want an OLED but want the cheapest one possible. The black levels are there, the colors are there, but the 60Hz panel just makes the picture look awful. This was professionally calibrated and the skin tones just look off. I recommend this if you want an OLED but can’t justify the few hundred dollars to upgrade to the C series. I have both, the C series blows this one away though!

    Best all round viewing experience

Hands down, one of the best TV flatscreen pictures out there! Comparing the picture and angle of view with other comparable units, the LG OLED is just an awesome viewing experience, regardless of whether you are watching standard or 4K levels. Be sure your room doesnt expose the screen to bright lighting as you may find the picture darker than usual. The only thing I am hesistant on saying is great is the thin viewing screen above the electronics of the TV. You dont want to flex the screen if moving it and I am sure if it toppled, the top of the screen would break off...Hey who has children or animals that may try to see if they can move it. Seriously, its the only thing that gives me pause but the TV is absolutely great!

This tv is good, is as thick as a cardboard (same flexibility).

You cannot use with tv stand. Is kind of weird. Is probable very good for rooms with no much space

Great television but wish LG included the ribbon cable extender with this model. This is the best TV I have ever owned and the thinness makes the TV more immersive. Once you start watching on this TV it would be hard to go back to any regular OLED. The price is steep but this is a piece of art.

It's a beautiful TV, but it's got some quirks.

I've had this for about a month, so here's some opinions:

    The Good:

Amazing picture. I'm coming from an HD LCD TV, so I was expecting a big improvement, and I wasn't disappointed. It's beautiful, even from very far off-axis (which is critical for me given my living room layout).

Amazing form factor. So thin, so little bezel. To misquote Crocodile Dundee, "That's not a flat panel TV. THIS is a flat panel TV." It really looks like the screen is just pasted on the wall.

    The Bad:

The mechanical design is a bit ... odd.

One issue is that the ribbon cable from the panel to the main unit is exceedingly stiff, enough so that I'm afraid to try to bend it in a radius tighter than six inches or so. This means that there is very little flexibility about how to position the main unit relative to the panel. It worked out fine in my case, with the main unit sitting on a hutch a foot or so below the panel's bottom edge, but I had no freedom about how far forward the main unit would sit on the hutch. Seems like this could be a big problem for other layouts. Maybe the optional extension cable would make it better ... but if the extension is just as stiff, it's not going to help much.

Another thing to know is that there is a panel that gets screwed to the wall and then the display just attaches to that with magnets. I came *this* close to destroying a $5K TV before I'd had it fifteen minutes, by pulling slightly too hard on the ribbon cable while trying to reposition the main unit. Fortunately the magnets caught the display again after it'd slipped down a few inches, so everything was fine, but geez that was scary. I'd say that this TV is an absolute non-starter for any household with small kids in it.

    The Ugly:

Given that the main unit is obviously a wannabe soundbar, I'd figured I would not need any external audio hardware. The sound is indeed fairly OK for a TV, but: where's the subwoofer? There is none, and there is no way to attach one, which seems like an incredible oversight. If you want to upgrade the sound, the only option AFAICS is to buy a duplicate soundbar, which is silly; plus the main unit is taking up the only reasonable place to put one. And the only available audio output is an optical digital audio port, which limits your selection of soundbars.

    The Bottom Line:

Gorgeous TV by any visual standard, well worth the price, but OTOH the sound definitely does not measure up to the price tag. I don't regret this purchase by any means, but if high-grade audio is something you care a lot about, you might want to go for a different model.

    Wow!!!

WOW!!!! Were the first words out of my mouth when I opened the box and took my first look at this tv. This is the slimmest, aside from the bottom half of the tv, I have ever seen. So, to be honest I was never a big fan of Vizio Tv’s. I had always seen great deals on their products but nothing ever attracted to the brand, until today. Today I received my first VIZIO OLED TV and boy was I wrong. The colors, the blacks, the design, and the sound, vizio has won my heart with their OLED series TVs. So, lets go over some of the features of this tv and what it has to offer.

    Unboxing and Setup-

***BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU UNBOX THIS TV, IT IS SUPER THIN SO BE VERY CAREFUL WITH IT*** I would definitely two or more people to do the unboxing and setup. The top half of this tv is just glass, and the bottom half potion is the housing for the speakers, motherboard, inputs and the power. The back has two removable panels where you run all your cabling and cover them back up for a nice clean look. The tv also comes with a solid metal stand. The stand alone weighs about 10lbs. I ended up mounting my tv on the wall but all accessories are provided for mounting the tv, except for the mount, or using the stand. Once the tv was properly mounted on the wall, the setup process began for the tv. The setup is fairly simple, select your location, connect to WIFI, search for local channels, connect to either Alexa or Google home and your done. Your tv is ready to go.

    Colors, Blacks and Screen Resolution-

The colors and blacks are really amazing on this tv. The colors are vibrant, bright and really pop out, kind of giving you that feeling of actually being there and the blacks are deep blacks, as if the pixels in the area turn off. This tv really has sensational contrast, colors and blacks and really give some well-known brand name TVs a run for their money.

The TV supports 4K (2160p), HDR, HRD 10, HDR 10+, and Dolby vision. Unfortunately, I was unable to experience the full pro gaming engine of this tv due to the fact that ps4 pro does not support free sync therefore unable to use the variable refresh rate. Overall, still a solid gaming experience in 4K.

    Sound Quality-

Vizio didn’t leave anything out when it came to this tv. This tv supports DTS Virtual: X sound technology. DTS Virtual X, for those who don’t know, is a new audio technology that provides a 3D surround sound experience without the need for surround sound speakers, moving sound around you as it would in real life giving you a more immersive experience.

    Smartcast and Apps-

Now this part I was not very impressed with and was a lit lacking, although the tv comes preloaded with a plethora of different apps you can use for entertainment and the option of casting your iphone or android to the tv, but that is pretty much it. Unlike other manufactures that have their own app stores to allow to download and use like the internet browser or download games, this tv does not support that.

    Features-

    4 HDMI ports

    2 USB ports

    1 Digital optical audio

    1 Analog Audio

    RF antenna input

    Composite input

    WIFI / Ethernet

    VESA 300mm x 200mm mount

Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri

    30 watt speaker output

    120Hz Refresh rate

    71lbs with stand / 61lb without stand

Apple TV+, Disney+, Hulu, Netflix, Peacock, Prime Video, Redbox, Tubi, XUMO, YouTube

In conclusion, this is an awesome tv for the price, and I would highly recommend anyone looking for a tv to checkout this unit in person, because pictures don’t do this tv justice.

An Excellent Way To Enter The World of OLED

While I've been a videophile for the longest time, I never had the opportunity to purchase an OLED television due to the technology's price. As everyone knows, they're expensive televisions. I've seen several in-person comparisons between OLEDs and QLEDs in recent years, but this is the first time I've been able to pull the trigger and purchase one. I looked through LG, Sony, and Phillips for OLEDs. I went through several reviews on TVRtings.com and other credible sources. I ran into the issue where I wanted an upgrade from my 55" Samsung LED, but I also wanted an increase in size. While LG, Sony, and Phillips had great options for OLEDs, they put me in the bracket of another 55". But then I saw this VIZIO, which took me by surprise. I didn't know they had made an OLED Television. It wasn't a brand I wanted to go with, but with the 65" being on sale for $1500 and the reviews being solid, I decided to make the purchase.

Let me get to the point which I'm sure you're curious about: this television has EXCELLENT picture quality. With an OLED, you're getting pure black, you're getting the individual pixels with their own lighting, and you're getting an infinite contrast ratio. I use it specifically for 4K UHD Blu-Rays and watching films. I also use it for some streaming television shows here and there. The films I have seen have looked absolutely beautiful and if you've never seen an OLED you will instantly notice a significant bump in picture quality. Both films and television shows look absolutely gorgeous, especially when you're watching this in a dark room. With this television, you get the benefit of being able to take advantage of both HDR10 and Dolby Vision, which is an incredible benefit as most manufacturers take one or the other. The color gamut is outstanding and colors look natural and the contrast gives the image incredible depth. The television has outstanding grey uniformity and for the most part, will not present any issues for casual users. I've seen films like Aquaman, Tenet, Dunkirk, and The Dark Knight (all on 4K UHD Blu-Ray) and they have all left me in awe. It's like watching the film all over again. Overall, there are plenty of more pros than cons with the picture quality. It's quality that even videophiles should be absolutely pleased with. VIZIO did an excellent job fo this being their first OLED and I'm sure it's raised some alarms at LG and Sony.

However, no television has perfect picture quality. A common fact about OLEDs is that they don't get as bright as QLED televisions. When watching HDR content calibrated for an accurate picture, you're getting probably 550 nits, which isn't an incredibly bright image. It can hit a peak brightness of 800 nits, but you probably won't be getting an accurate picture with the footage. If you don't care about having an accurate picture (i.e. colors and content looking like the creator intended), it may not even be an issue for you. Finally, while this television does have excellent grey uniformity, but when testing it I did notice some very mild vertical banding (1-2 mild vertical bands). I have 50 hours with this television, so this may be something that goes away, but it is a common downside of OLEDs and you kind of have to play "panel lottery" when you make the purchase hoping you get a solid one. I have only noticed it very briefly when watching one scene Dunkirk, but this was literally two seconds. If you're a casual watcher, you won't notice anything. VIZIO has kindly introduced a screen refresher option and pixel movement to fix any issues with the image that may result from burn-in (an issue that is common with ALL OLED televisions).

The audio on this television is mediocre at best. It could be a lot clearer and a little bit louder. It's definitely not the best audio I have heard and it can be a bit discouraging when you're paying this much money. You'll definitely want to purchase some soundbar to accompany this television.

People have complained about the software, stating it is buggy or sluggish. As of January 2021, I have not had any issues with it at all. The interface is fast, snappy, and responds very well. I'm sure LG and Sony have a better interface as they've been in the game a bit longer, but I've not had any issues with the VIZIO software at all.

Finally, there has been a mixed response with the variable refresh rate (VRR) on this television. As you can see, several of the reviews on this site alone cited frustration with not being able to play games at 120hz. However, as of January 2021, I've seen several people state that they've been able to play games on the new consoles at 4K at 120hz. I've also continued to see people who say they can't. I have a gut-feeling they don't have their inputs set correctly on the television or console. If some people are able to play it, it must be a functionality that can be accessed. Prior to all the firmware updates, I fully acknowledge people could not do it. Several of the reviews on here were correct at the time they were written. While I'm a gaming enthusiast and have a gaming PC, I have not used this television for any gaming as I primarily use it for my home theater. So if you want this for gaming, you may want to do more research to see if the VRR is fully functional. I'm thinking at this point it is, but please double-check.

Overall, I would rate this television a 4.5/5. I kindly rounded up and gave it five stars on here due to the excellent quality, excellent price, and awesome implementation from VIZIO. I've had it for two weeks and there have been no significant concerns. Videophiles should be pleased and casual viewers will definitely be blown away. I'm looking forward to seeing what VIZIO does with OLED in the future.

    Great Tv

Everything works great and the tv looks even better. I haven’t really tried the 4k @ 120 yet but I assume it works fine. I wish the stand was a little sturdier but that’s only issue I have with it.

    Stunning

Stunning picture, it puts my standard LED tv that’s just a few years old completely to shame. Bright colors, insane contrast, pure blacks.. I couldn’t believe it when I turned the thing on for the first time. Literally said “oh my God, wow.”

Prior to buying the tv when looking at the reviews, I read people not favoring the SmartCast interface because of lag. It’s definitely been updated, I have NO lag at all. It’s pretty dang quick if you ask me. Yes, you can’t add or download apps, but good lord there’s already all the apps I can think of added to it already. On the off chance what you want isn’t there, you can easily stream whatever it is from your phone or iPad. It feels more like you’re getting to use your device as the remote and you get to watch whatever it is on your tv.

100% would buy this tv over and over. The television itself is a beautiful piece of electronics. The stand is solid high quality metal, it’s got some heft to it and it’s strong. Love the back compartments with covers that hide wires, it satisfies my OCD to a whole new level.

I can’t say it enough. This is a REALLY nice tv for a great price. Just take a second and look at the price of other OLED TVs. You’ll circle right back to this one.

Luxury OLED TV performance at a bargain!

This TV has been a colossal improvement in visual entertainment quality for me. It has turned my living room into what feels practically like a movie theater experience combined with the quality and image fidelity that only OLED TV’s of this caliber can offer. Vizio has truly knocked it out of the park with this TV.

The unboxing: The unboxing process with two people was incredibly explained and intuitive to follow, set up was easy considering the side and cumbrance of this TV! There were even labels like ‘grab here’ ‘don’t grab here’ etc. The unboxing and initial assembly steps were easily accomplished between just my friend, myself, and one phillips head screwdriver.

The set up: This TV was as I expected given the price range it falls in. Everything was plug and play. I plugged in my Dolby Atmos sound bar via the labeled eARC HDMI port, my ethernet cable into the ethernet port, my Playstation 4 HDMI cable into one of the HDMI 2.1 ports and everything turned on a performed just as expected with no hassle. The soundbar in particular was automatically detected and I am even able to control the volume of the soundbar via the remote the TV came with! Smooth. This TV also offers next level cable management. The picture I took was poor with my flash, but the cable channels in the back of the TV perfectly and smoothly stow away all of your cables and route the down and out the back of the base, really enhancing the professional and high-end look of this TV!

The user interference (UI): In reading about this TV before I received it, one of the most common complaints I ascertained was that people felt the UI was choppy, laggy, or not very high quality given the caliber and price of this TV. The TV updated its firmware when I first booted it up and connected to the internet. With the update completed, I feel that Vizio has addressed the concerns of many of the early reviewers. I felt the UI—while lower quality than that of my previous LG TV—was sufficiently easy to navigate and did not seem choppy or laggy at all in my view! The only thing that I saw is that the icons on the Home menu where you can navigate between apps did not look very polished, so perhaps that is what is confusing people.

The remote: Thankfully, this is a relatively small knock given the whole of how awesome this TV is, but I just can’t stand the remote. The ergonomics of it feel wrong and it lacks the excellence and advanced features of other companies remotes like the Magic Remote from LG. I also tried the Vizio smartcast remote app on my iPhone and found, much to my irritation, that to utilize the full features of it you have to do monthly payments or pay a one-time lifetime payment to utilize it! I was not happy here. A quarter of a million dollar Lamborghini should not have a crappy steering wheel—a TV of this caliber and price should not have a remote worthy of a TV 10% of the cost!

The sound: As I mentioned earlier, plugging in my HDMI eARC sound bar was easy as could be and the TV automatically connected, utilized, and even controlled it with the remote! This is good, because boy do you really need an external audio device with this TV. The built-in speakers vibrate terribly at certain volumes and have little to no base. For example, the TV vibrates with the Stranger Things theme above volume 60. Alas, in this era of making TV’s thinner and thinner, there has to be comprises somewhere, and I feel that the speakers probably drew the short straw. Accordingly, though, I think that most people expect or want to buy soundbars, so this is not the worst thing.

The picture quality: As advertised, the blacks are truly so deep and rich as to be expected with an OLED device. To further enhance the image quality, I recommend going into the picture settings in the menu and changing the picture mode to ‘Sports’. This yielded the best contrast and brightness settings I felt. I will be awaiting Tom’s guide or someone else to be coming out with specific calibration settings, but I feel the ‘sports’ setting is sufficient to my needs for now! I have owned 4K TV’s for a few years now, and this one just does seem to blow all the previous LED and nanocell technology TV’s out of the water with this gorgeous OLED panel!

Altogether, I highly recommend this TV. Vizio has delivered an incredible OLED TV here that is ready for the new gaming consoles coming out at a truly, crazily competitive price in this OLED high-performance TV space. This TV has transformed my living room into a gaming and TV watching haven and I am sure it will do the same for you!

    A Software Nightmare

It has a great OLED panel. Thats about all it has going for it. The actual software is a nightmare. All major apps break, sometimes they don’t even open, and the tv shuts down unexpectedly. I purchased in late July, and it’s already clearly a terrible $1300 purchase. I have to hard boot and unplug it every week to keep my wife from getting frustrated.

Either spend more money for an LG or Sony, or just get a good LED panel for the same amount and have a tv that actually works. The price may look appealing but please save yourself the headache. I will try getting an external streaming device to save myself the pain soon.

    Best value for OLED

I purchased the 65 inch after doing research for a week. I like the reviews and decided to pull the trigger. I purchased it on sale for 1800 and it dropped in price literally the next day to 1500. Best Buy price matched with no troubles. This tv has a beautiful picture. The contrast and blacks on this tv are unmatched but by other OLEDs. It has VRR and since it also has hdmi 2.1, that means it also supports the new consoles at 4K 120FPS. I have my Xbox Series X hooked up to it and it looks amazing. If you see this tv on sale and you’re on the fence, scoop it up. It’s a no brainer for 1500. The only downside is the Vizio Smartcast feature. I’m not sold on it for the simple reason that you can’t add any apps besides the ones pre-installed. You can “cast” or stream other apps through Android or iOS but it’s not as easy or intuitive as just pressing a button on a remote.
