It does everything and More. went from stock bluetooth radio. and this one has so many options. i cant complain.

HUGE. I didn’t realize it would be so large. Ten inches really looks much bigger than expected. This is a great unit. Nice sound. I’m going to have to look into getting a factory flush mount because I’m not crazy about the floating screen look. But the colors are great. Great layout. Easy to use. Does everything I need it to. I can’t think of anything missing.

I absolutely love this stereo, it is a big screen but I love that it has Apple CarPlay. I love that it works with steering wheel controls for my jeep.

This HU was installed using the wiring harness and Steering Wheel Controls (SWC) along with the mounting and trim hardware from SpiralAudio.com to retain OEM functionality and appearance.

Also installed a Pioneer ND-BC8 backup camera which I tucked up under the trim piece above the rear license plate. Routing the cable safely inside the trunk lid and through the existing flexible wiring holder, around the convertible top mechanism, under the passenger door sill trim, behind the glove box, and into the HU cavity was the most time-consuming task. The Pioneer ND-BC8 has both an RCA Video plug and the ground and 12V fused feed at the dashboard end of the cable.

Standard the 2007 Saab Aero comes with two amplifiers, one for the FL, FR, RL, and RR speakers, the other for the 12-inch woofer behind the back seat for a total of 300 Watts. The Pioneer HU was unleashed latent sound quality and amplitude that just was not there with the OEM HU!! IT’S LOUD!!

Overall, the head unit is exceptionally good and has great functionality like HD Radio, iPod integration, Android Auto, 2 camera inputs, and so on.

My only criticism that cost the review one star is that the screen just isn’t bright enough, especially in a convertible.

I bought this HU mainly on availability, most HUs are out of stock/on backorder due to the pandemic-induced supply chain issues, and I wasn’t going to spend $800 on a $199 list price HU!!

Apart from the lack of screen brightness, this is a great HU and camera duo.

I LOVE this radio! My car is over 10 years old and i feel like I have a new car with this new gadget. I bought it mainly for safety. I no longer have to look down at my phone to change a song or illegally read a text. Siri does it all for me. Great investment.

Great headunit, With HD radio, the main reason i choose this model from another model that was cheaper. Carplay is a game changer. My kid loves the ablility to watch movies from the usb port.

I installed this into a 2007 Honda Element. It fit perfectly, the features all work very well. CarPlay is flawless. The interface is good. It’s easy to navigate. I’m really happy with having bought this one.

Great head unit that added the style and sound I was looking for in my 2013 Wrangler. For the price, you can’t go wrong! Graphic EQ is user friendly and allows easy ability to get just the right sound. Love how responsive the touchscreen is. Would highly recommend!

Really happy with this unit! The display is super clear, much better than the alpine I had. Volume controls are great and easy to use. Can’t go wrong with unit, especially for the price.

Fantastic unit, great screen and picture. Apple Carplay works flawlessly. The 13-band EQ is nice and the overall use is easy as the interface is very intuitive. The touchscreen is smooth and responsive. Sound quality is good, but I do have all speakers on amps so I only use the RCA pre-outs. This is night and day better than my old Sony AVX-1000AX.

FINALLY installed this on my truck. Sounds great and looks great!

A couple of things to note:

1. This radio says "XM Ready" which means you MUST buy an XM receiver in order for this to have XM capabilities. Once you get the receiver installed, it works great...just realize that this does not come with the receiver.

2. Also, if you are new to these, go research the parking brake hookup as well and do what you need to do.

3. If you want your steering wheel controls to work, you need to buy a thing for it as well. It was a pain to put in, but I got my working just great!

Overall it sounds great, and it has tons of cool features. Very happy!!!

Good solid radio. Unit is fast and very responsive. quick start up time. Bluetooth connects fairly quickly. Only downside is if you want to go to the settings, you have to set your parking brake. The touchscreen is the same material as like an iPhone, so it will get smudges on it pretty easily.

I like most everything about this stereo. One of few that fit my car, I chose it over the ILX-W650 because the screen could be customized. The interface is clean and it is easy to operate while driving. I do wish they had left the equalizer from the 650, this only has 5 bands and after playing around with it the equalizer and tone controls are weird. Turn the bass up, the treble goes down. Turn the treble up, the bass goes down. But, if you use the preset equalizations the sound is pretty good overall.

Love this radio. Touchscreen is super responsive, audio quality and ability to fine tune is fantastic! So happy I bought this. Geek squad did an excellent install as well

The Kenwood radio I bought is a fine radio. The highlight of the purchase was the installer. Alfredo did a magnificent job, very friendly and knowledgeable. He even vacuumed my car when he was done. Alfredo is an asset to BestBuy.

Wireless Android Auto/Car Play is worth every penny. I had the same exact radio(Minus Wireless features) Installed by bestbuy 3 years ago. I purchased this solely for the wireless upgrade and was able to simply swap it out myself since best buy had already done all the wiring.

great receiver... does all the things I needed it to do... made my speakers and the sound in my car much better... Android auto works great although the cables for the USB ports MUST be USB 2.0 and nothing else or they wont work..

Good quality

Only downside is that I have to manually activate Android Auto upon every start of my pickup. That may be a limitation of my smart phone though, we'll see whenever I decide to upgrade my phone.

Amazing unit for people that don’t have room for a double din stereo, or simply don’t want to destroy the dash to put one in. Love my 2006 BMW 325i, it just needed to be current with technology, and this stereo completed my wish! Some people might complain about the screen, but we have a couple of 2015 cars that have the same type of screen. If you want an “IPad touch feel” than this is not for you as those are twice the price! If you just want a screen that can go in when you want or out, then get this radio! Apple car play and Bluetooth work amazing! I don’t mind plugging in the wired connection as anything is better than what I had before. I am so excited to have Sirius XM as before I had the portable XM radio with all types of wires all over my car and now with the module connection to the back of this radio I have no wires on my dash! I often find myself excuses just to drive around now, I love it!!

This radio had everything I was looking for: Bluetooth, USB port for charging and Apple Car Play function. Everything else is just a bonus. It has hands free calling, reads your text message, you can verbally reply to the text message and say"Send" and it'll send it. Yes, I know it has a DVD player/CD player but I wasn't interested in those features since this was a gift and the person using this radio doesn't listen to CD's and I was uncomfortable splicing into the parking brake to have the DVD feature to work when the car is parked. If you don't want to modify your dash, or a double DIN radio just doesn't fit but you want modern features, this is the solution. The car that I installed it in looks like it always belonged in there.

Bought this radio because a double din would not work in my application but still wanted a bigger screen. So far I am very happy with my purchase. Bluetooth is easy to connect and just as easy to switch between when multiple devices are connected. Android Auto works flawlessly with my galaxy s10. Most importantly the sound quality is excellent and adjusting the eq is simple with a wide range of frequencies. The only reason for the 4 star rating is because of the price compared to a comparable double din.

when I first got there I was told my purchase was missing parts and I had to contact the manufacturer to get them. Turns out the parts came to $60 dollars with shipping..at that point I wasn't happy.

But the installer and the manager Made me happy by covering the costs of the parts AND the shipping.

I have a 2005 Toyota Matrix and I love my car but did not like being without Bluetooth for my phone and my Apple Music play. I also purchased a backup camera and I feel like I’m driving a brand new car. It works flawlessly and sounds great with my original 6 speakers.

Had installed in my 16 year old daughter’s 2011 F150 and works great. Really updated the truck with Apple car play for easy streaming of favorite music, maps and SIRI. Especially like the added backup camera since truck did not have one from factory.

Bought this as an upgrade from my stock stereo on my Nissan Sentra. The Apple car play itself is worth the upgrade, system works smoothly and have had no issues

Love it! It works great and the led colors make it even better on my 2007 Hyundai Accent.

The deck pairs seamlessly with my iPhone. It’s so cleanly designed and it’s completely non distracting while driving. So nice to always have navigation at the ready and CarPlay cleverly allows instant access to your three most used most recent apps. So switching between podcasts, music and maps is a breeze.

Pretty good receiver to replace original unit in an old Lexus

I had my doubts when I ordered Plantet audio. Doubt no more this thing is amazing. Did self install little over 1 hour with no problems. Didn’t purchase cameras until I made sure radio worked will be ordering those soon. I’m a cheapskate so for me to say it’s worth every penny says a lot.

It’s a good product. Matched perfectly with my car. My only issue is with the audio sound adjustment, it’s not complicated at all , you just can’t adjust your presets without the system making you adjust ALL the sound moving all presets to 0. Sorry, I’m not an audio technician, feels like I’m adjusting sound constantly. Outside of that, it’s awesome.

I love this head unit so far. Favorite feature is Apple CarPlay & android auto. I haven’t had any trouble. I drive a Jeep so the removable monitor is a plus when the doors are off. I do wish the equalizer had better settings but no biggie. If you’re installing a back up camera as well only turn on the review camera power and review camera options turning on “review camera view” flips the image.

Well I was expecting much from this. I installed it into my sons truck and was blow away. I thought it was a lower end radio, but the quality of the product absolutely surprised me. Plus the sound was loud, clear and so much better than the factory radio. Plus it’s option packed. Do not hesitate to buy. It’s totally worth it

I have been using this Planet Audio Receiver for around 4 months now and love it! It installed easily and is a good fit in my 2002 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD LS truck. The screen is large and bright. My iPhone connects via Bluetooth with no issues and Apple CarPlay works well when plugged in to the USB port.

I really like this unit. My vehicle wouldn't allow a double din so this is cool. Wish i could buy another one for my other vehicle

This review is what I love about this radio. It has am/fm and SiriusXM. You can connect through Bluetooth or usb cable. The USB cable allows you to use Carplay/Android Auto. It has customizable backgrounds and accent light colors, an equilizer, and Crossfader controls. If you have a subwoofer, you can control the sub independently from the other speakers. There have been a few instances on Bluetooth where certain songs I played on Google Play had no sound. I have not yet found the cause of this. I suspect it may be the new Android 10 update. I had this issue for about an hour, then it would not replicate. I am so happy with my purchase. I decided between this and the Sony XAV, choosing this because of the high customizability.

I love this stereo a lot due to the convenience it provides me with CarPlay. However, I’m not good at adjusting how the music sounds. Thus, all the audio settings it has is super confusing for someone like me. I eventually figured it out after a couple weeks. That’s the only con I have found about this stereo so far.

Fits like a glove. Finally have hands free and a backup camera in my 20 year old truck. Fantastic unit!

DMX7706S-Kenwood 7" Android Auto/Apple CarPlay-Bluetooth-In-Dash Digital Media Player, exactly what I wanted and performs even better than expected.

This JVC Radio is amazing! Many features. Such a clear touch screen. No Glare at all. I had it installed through Best Buy in Oakdale, MN. The customer service was great! They installed the radio and it looked amazing. I did have to go back, but they went above and beyond to tryin help find a solution. I had this unit installed in my 2019 Jeep Renegade. The issue was, none of my climate controls or settings worked on the radio even with Maestro iDatalink connected. This was NOT the fault of Best Buys installers. This was an FCA issue. So please note: If you drive a Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Chrysler or Fiat, you will need to take an extra step to make any touch screen with iDatalink compatible radio fully functional. I took my Jeep to the dealership, and they have to do what's called a Proxy Alignment to configure your aftermarket radio. The alignment doesn't always work on the first try, make sure they try at least a couple times, it should work. Im sure prices vary from dealership to dealership, but I paid $199, thats with tax, to have this done. You can buy an OBD MX+ and do the Proxy Alignment yourself if you feel comfortable and knowledgable enough to do so. Hope this helps someone out.

Incredible unit. I first installed the Jensen Car1000 and started having issues with it freezing up and crashing constantly, so I returned it and decided to splurge on this JVC instead. There were features missing on the Jensen that I had in my old vehicle that I missed. Top among them were wireless android auto (vs wired), hd radio, satellite radio, and an hdmi input. This JVC also has a much higher resolution screen. I love the fact that the screen has some tilt adjustment available after installation. Android auto wireless works great, though setting it up on the unit wasn't as intuitive as other units i've tried. Just mess with it a bit and you'll figure it out. While I prefer a volume knob, (like this unit's sister unit under the Kenwood brand) I do appreciate the large volume up and down buttons. My previous pioneer had tiny volume buttons. Also, I was able to retain my steering wheel controls using only a PAC adapter. That was a much cheaper optoin to retain steering wheel controls vs the idatalink maestro setup that would have cost an extra 250 dollars. I don't get all the fancy vehicle info, but all I wanted to was steering wheel controls. So look in to that cheaper option if you're curious. May not work on newer vehicles though (I drive a 2010 F250 Lariat). I did have an issue with the hdmi input not working at first, while trying to use a 4k hdmi cable. I swapped out that cable for an older hdmi cable, not 4k, and now it works. So if you're having that issue, try and older hdmi cable. They're supposed to be completely backwards compatible, but obviously not with this unit. Also, don't forget to add the little black trim piece or the screen won't turn on! All in all, this thing is responsive, has the best screen available right now in car stereos, and has all the features you could ever want. I absolutely love it despite the pretty ridiculous cost.

Cannot say enough about the awesome screen. Of course it's big, but the clarity is great too.

I installed this unit in a 2015 Toyota Camry. The Best Buy fit guide said it wasn't compatible, but another site said it was, so I took a chance. With it adjusted so that the emergency flasher button is not covered, the top of the screen is slightly higher than the vents. Air flow still reaches the driver and passenger with no problem.

Installation is as easy or difficult as any after market head unit. If you install with the iDatalink Maestro, which I did, you have some soldering to do, but you retain steering wheel controls, and gain system information screens.

We connect Android Auto with a Google Pixel 3xl, and a Samsung Galaxy S21 5G. Both work seamlessly wired and wirelessly.

After a lot of research I decided on this JVC 10.1 Inch Model. I’m very pleased with my final choice and the great installation and 4 year warranty program offered by Best Buy. The Geek Squad Installers and the Sales people and were very helpful, knowledgeable and efficient!

This infotainment center does it all! I love it. It will make a factory set of speakers sound like customs. You can install 4 cameras including backup. Android Auto, usb or wireless. Iphone same thing. Hdmi input.Etc. All you need is a standard 2 din opening to install it. The 10.1 in screen IS HD! Newer android phones will project wirelessly just like chromecast. It has up to 50 watts PER SPEAKER. I could go on and on, but just pick up an advertisement

Well worth the price like they say you get what you pay for but the price increase I can see why it’s hard to purchase it

The form factor of this receiver is nice,Apple CarPlay works great this version came with the SiriusXM radio tuner in the box so no need to buy separate if you like satellite radio, has an hdmi connection so alls you have to do is hook up and hdmi cable and get the right mirroring adapter for your phone to watch movies you’ve downloaded to your phone whether it be google play movies or Netflix offline downloads where there’s no service, no need for a DVD player or CD player when you can download tons of stuff to your Phone. The free installation and price matching is a bonus to get a great deal at Best Buy. I would recommend getting a parking brake bypass installed so you don’t have to have the e brake on to change certain settings and it will allow you to watch videos while the car is in motion if that’s something your interested in.

I haven’t had much time to enjoy it yet since I’m a contractor but overall I’m satisfied as for as the quality of sound and features!! I love it

Even though this probably supposed to be a step “down” from my Pioneer, this runs much better.

I love having the voice option button I can press to get to Siri at any time. This is in case the volume from the speakers is too loud, or if there is a lot of sound in the cabin.

I’ve noticed Siri works better when pressing the voice button, however, this appears to be on the Apple side after iOS upgrades as I noticed the same issue with my Pioneer.

Some might consider this a drawback, but you cannot access the settings unless you are in park with the parking brake on. However, if you download the tune it app, you can adjust all the audio settings there such as the EQ, and most everything else related to that without having to use the brake.

I would HIGHLY recommend going on YouTube and learning the user interface before buying this unit so you know what to expect. I’ve owned several Alpine units in the past, all single DIN, and this is a more time consuming user interface than I’ve dealt with before.

At this price point it would be nice for most people to have more than nine bands for the EQ, but it also lets you adjust the Q level to how much you want it to adjust the surrounding frequencies. Most head units don’t offer that. For ease of use, I’d recommend using the tune it app where it will categorize the nine bands into bass, mid, treble. It also lets you choose different frequencies instead of being stuck at one frequency like most head units. This is a parametric EQ as opposed to a graphic EQ. The difference is in the eye of the beholder and there are lots of online forums and videos that go over the differences.

I use a separate Alpine H800 DSP/EQ and found I needed to adjust the bands on it more for this unit than the Pioneer, but the Pioneer I replaced was one of the worst car audio investments I’ve made in almost 15 years. I sent it off for multiple warranty issues at once after only a few months of ownership. On the warranty site, they give a list of specific issues to pick from and my unit had more than one of the specific issues. So, I’ll take that trade off.

CarPlay is excellent and easy to see. I mean, CarPlay is a standard interface regardless of the unit, but some manufacturers take longer than others to navigate through the menu. I’ve noticed after having mine installed that I have to wait until after the unit finishes booting before I can hook up my phone and have it switch into CarPlay mode. Otherwise it seems to just charge it. However, disconnecting and reconnecting the cable fixes that. There may even be a firmware update available or down the road that addresses that.

I like how the physical buttons on the head unit are simple to know the functions of. Alpine has made some improvements over what they have done in the past where there were so many buttons that it would involve a higher learning curve to figure out what they all do. This unit includes a button that brings you directly to navigation mode within CarPlay (or Android Auto if you use that). That’s a big time saver.

Even with the identical back up camera installed, that’s a vast improvement over my 8200nex. The picture is clearer and it doesn’t cut out.

Make sure you read the description and specs for this head unit. This doesn’t come with an optical drive for CDs or DVDs, but the Lightning to HDMI adapter more than makes up for that.

I’ve had no issues with glare at all even with full sunlight. Not blinding at night either.

I had this installed by Geek Squad as part of the package deal.

I didn’t have the tech install the satellite radio, so I can’t speak to that feature for this specific unit. Long story short, the AIFF files from my iPhone 7 Plus sound better since it isn’t an over the air source and they won’t drop out during bad weather. I don’t want to potentially relive the bad customer service of satellite radio I had in years past.

I had used Alpine almost exclusively until someone recommended the Pioneer and I’ll never go back.

An added note, before the 8200nex, I also had a 4200nex that had identical issues, and also ran slower. From my personal experiences, it could just be that whole year of that NEX series had issues as other reviews mention it as well. They may have improved the performance within the alphabet soup of the names of newer models. But when the flagship model became a sinking ship, I decided I was done throwing away money on the Pioneer units and was ready to go back to ole reliable. But, at this price point, I’d recommend getting the protection plan regardless of what brand you buy.

I love this stereo receiver! I wasn’t sure if I would like it or not, being an aftermarket product and all but it is perfect. It doesn’t look like an aftermarket product at all. It fits in my 2013 Jeep Wrangler flawlessly. Love having Apple Car Play and being able to send and receive texts via voice commands. The only downfall is that in order to use Apple Car Play, you have to have it connected by USB cord. Otherwise, you can still use bluetooth and handsfree calling wirelessly. I HIGHLY recommend you let the geek squad install it. They know what they are doing and it takes them essentially no time to install it. You won’t be sorry.

I’ve been installing car audio for 30 years now as a hobby. I’ve exclusively used Alpine head-units for the last 25 years. This is bar none the best hu I’ve had out of the lot of them. That’s saying something considering the quality of the old school Alpine stuff. It functions very well with my iPhone with 16,500 songs! The handsfree is a must in today’s overly distracted driving world. Install was simple and I don’t intend to watch videos so I simply wired the parking brake to a ground wire for ease of reaching the tuning features. At $599 it’s a bargain!

Perfect mid rage deck if your a sound guy. Alpine offers a parametric EQ on this unit which if you don't know what that is look it up it makes all the difference when tuning and to my knowledge isn't offered on other decks in this price range. Easy interface, double touch for volume and track selection hands free for text and calling all in all excellent choice Cons: 4 volt pre out (c'mon Alpine this one is huge for music guys) and one monitor input (you have to buy Alpine expansion for multiple) it is worth mentioning this deck has HDMI in and out ports for mirroring entertainment

I already had kicker speakers installed in my Toyota Corolla. Andrew installed this radio today and I thought I would have a lot of highs and would need a amp to get some bass. Boy was I wrong! This radio sounds amazing. I like my music loud and I honestly don’t think I need a amp. Still getting use to the controls. I really don’t care for the microphone. You have to yell at it but I really don’t care about that to much about that after I heard my radio. Display is pretty basic. Nothing too fancy. I like the apple car play. Plugged my phone in and BOOM it was there. I wish you could hear my car! Those kicker speakers sound Amazing compared to the stock radio. The installation was quick and looks great. You really can’t tell I have a aftermarket radio in the dash. This radio even hooked up to my factory back up camera and the steering wheel controls still work great. Very happy with my purchase and the customer service I received at Bismarck Best Buy. Thank you Andrew!

Nice Upgrade on 2007 Ford F150. Makes older vehicles look modern. I needed to upgrade speakers as well OEM speakers didn't have the clear sound I needed. Android Auto works perfect had my daughter do Apple Play as well they both work fine. Bluetooth works perfect although a few times pressing Pandora on Radio displayed not connected. Quick fix was to link phone up through Android Auto USB then everything synced back together.

This Pioneer consistently amazes me. It is so feature packed, that it took me a while to learn all it can do. This is not to say that it's hard to learn, just that I usually do not lean a feature, until I need to use it. The Apple Car Play, Rear Backup Camera, DVD/CD, Reception, and Sound is phenomenal. The interface with my steering wheel controls works seamlessly, and the SirrusXM had fantastic reception. With everything this unit offers, it is one of the best deals period. Add on top of all of that, Free Instillation, it's hard, if not impossible to beat!!

Bought a JVC 6.8” unit that died on me after just a few months. Best Buy swapped it out with this unit and it works 100% better than the JVC. Screen is a little smaller but I actually like the side panel with physical buttons. A+ Head unit!

I love it, Pioneer always been my choice for car stereos, this Deck does it all, The only issue i have with it is when you watch Youtube videos on it it buffers alot and can be glitchy.

This fit perfectly in my 2000 4Runner and works great! I love all the options and the sound is incredible. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a reasonable Apple Car Play stereo! Don’t forget to buy the mounting bracket and plug adapter!

This system has nice, sleek design but I wish the volume buttons were a little bigger. Nice size screen and sinks well with phone for hands free talking.

My old 2005 minivan is now almost as good as having a new car's media center. Apple Car Play is great. I can also listen to my favorite podcast. Good value for the price. I would have done it long time ago if I know there is such good value product.

I am enjoying my DDX9707S. This is my first car stereo with a touch screen. After a two months, I have discovered how to use the secondary functions on the buttons, a great way to put less use on the touch screen, and using the buttons is easier and less distracting while driving. I have the feeling that the longer I have this unit, the more I will like it. Wireless Android Auto works quite well, and if I am going on a long trip I can use the wired Android Auto and it will keep my phone charged. I had my installer replace both cigarette lighters in my car with USB ports so my phone can be plugged in easily and inconspicuously for a long trip. I use the CD player, but not as much as I thought I would. When I can ask Google to call up any music, it seems senseless to fumble around with my CD case, but it is nice to know that I can still listen to my CDs in case have to drive through an area with no 4G or 5G cell service. I got the right Car Stereo for me, after a lot of online research. The DDX9707S has more capabilities than I am using, so I am looking forward to discovering more as I add on to it.

Absolutely love, love my DDX9707S Kenwood stereo. There is also the nearly identical DMX9707S that may be a better fit for some if DVD support is not required. All other features are the same minus the DVD player.

I bought this stereo as Kenwood has a series of radios that support the Maestro iDataLink ADS-MMR module. This interface, besides providing me the standard steering wheel support other interfaces provides also talks directly to the autos computer systems (canbus) so that factory features can be displayed on the radio. For example I can have my tire pressure, climate controls and parking sensors displayed on the radio.

I've also provided a picture of my dash as the Radio communicates to it as well. You'll see that the song "Feel it still" is shown both on the CarPlay display as well as on my deluxe dash.

First off, if you have not experienced "wireless" CarPlay or Android Auto (spouse has Samsung phone), you have no idea how free you feel when you don't require a cord. In addition, sometimes the cord can be a source of problems for your CarPlay or Android Auto experience. USB support is certainly available. Unfortunately (but perhaps a future firmware upgrade) iPhones do need to use their lightning cable if you want USB Mirroring. Android phones can wireless mirror and my spouses Samsung works great.

The radio has excellent audio capabilities and has 4volt outputs for separate car amplifiers if you are really tricking it out. Has full crossover controls, so external crossovers are only optional for subwoofers and the like helping to reduce future expense.

There is the ability to support 4 camera inputs (as well as a video output, more on that in a moment). Seriously considering the Kenwood DRV-N520 dash cam, as it'll plug directly into this and the DMX9707S radios with extra features. It's nice having my factory review mirror camera integrated into the car radio. While not a cable you can get from BestBuy, I was able to purchase a cable that allowed that connect and also keep it working on the review mirror).

Something very interesting about the Radio is the ability to support Zones. Instead of just the radio through the entire vehicle, you can have the front be CarPlay, SiriusXM or whatever, and have the DVD or other source in the back. With a companion display the fam can be watching a DVD in the back seat along with headphones while the parents listen to music or anything else.

Each car installation is different depending on make and model, but for reference I have the following along with my Kenwood DDX9707S on my RAM 1500:

*Maestro ADS-MRR Universal Radio Replacement and Steering Wheel Interface

* Maestro HRN-RR-CH3 Plug and Play T-Harness for CH3 Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep Vehicles

*Maestro Acc-USB-RAM Media Hub USB Port Adapter Kit (retains factory AUX and USB connectors in console seat)

* A Fakra Z to DIN radio antenna adapter (RAM radio had strange small radio connector).

When planning to retain the factory features, be certain that you request the iDatalink feature, steering wheel interfaces are available for cheaper installation but do not retain the advanced features. Maestro ADS-MRR or ADS-MRR2 are required to retain these features and has two specific ports on the back of the radio for these.

I did have a slightly lower value on my DDX9707S as I've found that we don't use DVD's as much as we thought we would. The DMX9707S may be a better value, but depends if you'll want to use movies for the back seat zone.

Overall happy that the unit is wireless apple and android and also has wireless phone mirroring! Perfect. Only thing that keeps it from 5 stars is the screen image quality is not like HD and not as bright as a cell phone screen. I felt like the screen should glow just a tad brighter.

Terrible service at the Best Buy install garage however. I have a G-Wagon and they could not figure out how to install it. I had to go to a independant audio shop for install.

But besides that I recommend for the price for what you get!

This is a replacement radio as the one we purchased kept shutting off. The repair shop has been very accommodating with this ongoing problem and they upgraded the radio and charged us a small amount for the difference! My daughter has not had a problem with the current radio and we are very pleased!

The CD player does not read or display the song title or artist; the radio stations are difficult to set as favorites. Not user friendly to move from screen to screen for other features. Need more detailed user manual.

I just had this radio put in a week ago. So far I really like the radio, but it takes a little to get to know all the features. Compared to the OEM radio, most defiantly glad I had this put in.

Very good head unit but I bought it by mistake did not have the DVD player like I wanted will be returning it.

Access to Spotify alone makes this purchase worth it. It's as much fun as getting a TV for the first time. I can choose what bands want to listed to -- things I'd never hear on terrestrial radio like: Dispatch, Lucky Boys Confusion, The Czars, Australian Country Music Artists, almost anything you can imagine!

The user interface can be tricky though. You cannot easily input a new GPS destination EVEN WHEN STOPPED because the car is worried you're driving. I usually have to pull the jack out or speak loudly towards the microphone --several times in a row-- to get voice activation to work.

Still, this is so much more enjoyable than my factory head unit. I can't wait to take even a grocery store trip so I can listen to Spotify.

I bought this item on 9/16/2020, I was able to get it installed 2 weeks after 9/16. I waited 2 weeks for a harness and interface to fit a 2012 Malibu. Literally a week after installation, CarPlay quit working. I got a message and took a picture of it. I called Bestbuy, and unfortunately I don’t have their extended warranty, so they didn’t help me. I called Pioneer Electronics and that was a total disaster. They have no idea what this product even existed and I thought that was strange. I am dealing with it now, and for those that do not care about Apple CarPlay or the USB connection, take your shot but you’ll probably have a better experience with this product than I did. But, if I can go back, I would have got a different brand. Pioneer electronics are not very helpful.

I installed this in my 2009 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited to replace the factory radio. I also installed the iDatalink Maestro module to retain all of the factory original features and was required in order to control front to rear fade as I kept the factory Infinity amplifier. The Maestro also gives me an engine gauge screen on the new Pioneer, tire pressure, door status, battery voltage, and engine error code display/reset via the ODB connector. I also replaced all of the factory speakers. JBL Harman components in the front, JBL coaxials in sound bar, and a Pioneer low profile sub in the rear. Finally I also installed a backup camera which is displayed on the Pioneer screen. So far I love the Pioneer head unit. Amazing sound quality, great features. I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Android Auto is really cool. Allows me to run Waze navigation and other apps like Pandora when my phone is plugged into the Pioneer USB port. My only complaints, thus the 4 stars: (1) Wish there were two USB ports, keep switching between USB thumb drive loaded with music files and my phone for navigation. (2) Control buttons on left side are rather small. Overall a great radio and great price! Was $450 but got it on sale for $299. TIP: The Metra dash install/trim kit I used has very soft/cheap plastic, cracks easily. I've read that Scosche makes a better quality one and will pursue that brand for future installs.

So far- so good. Really nice unit with capability to do so much. I plan on adding on the Maestro feature this spring, along with cameras. That’s what I like about it....if you can’t afford to do everything at once, you can add features 1 by 1. I’ve never been a pioneer fan, I usually like Kenwood. But, after seeing a review on the Money Pit feature on Donut media’s Facebook page- pitting pioneer against the exact Kenwood model I was contemplating, it won me over. Granted....the unit they reviewed was a 1500 NEX- if I went with a more expensive model it should be just as good, if not better. The call quality on both ends are great. After seeing mine - I have friends and family looking to upgrade.

This head unit is NOT wireless AA or CP and while searching online for product support, what I got instead was that this deck is apparently a European model.

Now that stuff is out of the way, the XAVAX3250 does not suck. It is far superior than the paperweights Boss is putting out and the sound quality is just a little better than a comparably priced JVC. Which is crazy to me since JVC is Kenwood and Kenwood is about as good as it gets.

Crazier still is that Sony has achieved this with about 4% of the audio tweeks offered by JVC, with a rudimentary graphic 10 band equalizer (+-6db with Sub +-10db), bass improvement settings of off, 1 or 2 and that's it.

I'm in the, "give me as many knobs and settings or curves but preferably all of the above," camp so my first thought when I saw the anemic amount of settings, was if I had saved the packaging for the mounting screws because I was going to return yet another deck to Best Buy.

All things considered, I think I'm keeping this slimmed down and straight to the point deck with better than average sound quality. Though there's no "appropriation of stage acoustics", the Android Auto works exactly as intended: quick to start up, plays music and provides the geographically handicapped lines to follow when lost. Again.

The XAVAX3250's simplicity is kinda endearing and it's nice not having so many menu's of settings upon settings and a settings menu that takes you to the place that tells you how to get to the settings.

I miss the settings and it's only been twelve hours but I think a quick meeting and perhaps coffee with my sponsor, I'll be back in a sans settings state of mind. A serene, happy place where I will have all but forgotten the subdued nuance of changing the mid frequency by tenths.

I just installed this myself last night. I am pleased in the sound quality. This unit made my JL audio c2 650’s come to life! Dont ever settle for less by keeping your stock head unit! The backup camera actually LOST quality conpared to my stock headunit. That doesnt make sense to me since the backup camera is the same. The sony headunit has a much higher resolution screen. My camera looks grainy with this new head unit. I bought my wiring harness from crutchfield. Maybe thats the culprit to bad image quality.

Installed this on my 17 Forester XT. Able to retain factory camera and steering wheel controls. Android Auto/Carplay/Note 9 mirroring all work flawlessly. Sound is definitely an upgrade from the stock head unit.

One note is the screen is resistive and not capacitive as noted in the description. However, the screen is still responsive and fast.

May not have all the bells and whistles of a more expensive unit, but I just wanted AA/Carplay at a decent price. Limited to 18 preset saved stations though. Overall, this is a good value, especially given the shortages with head units.

Existing ax7000 opener. Bought this unit for my wife’s 86. Everything works as good as expected. We are very happy about this purchase especially in this days that almost nothing are available. We just want something simple and a decent screen with CarPlay so she can use Google map and for phone calls.

I put this into a 2005 mustang, which isn’t exactly a recommended vehicle in some places, but it works really well so long as you mount it a little deeper in the dash by making new screw holes. Mounting the back unit flush will mash your knuckles shifting gears. With this modification, the thing is a dream. It modernizes the car beautifully and it’s a joy to drive it. My biggest complaint is that radio presets are a pain in the hindquarters to switch between in the interface. I will be watching and hoping for firmware updates on that one. Otherwise, it gets my highest recommendation.

This is such an amazing radio. I love it for my iPhone, yet wish it was a way to add more apps. Having the free installation included was helpful for upgrading the car radio in my 2015 Nissan Sentra.

Ordered this 10-19-21, received on 10-21-21 and setup the free installation online for next open slot near me for 10-24-21 online night of purchase. which didnt save for my location oddly, after a hour on the phone with bestbuy, and multiple reps...i am told they cannot honor the free installation and i would have to pay for the installation...as my purchase didnt qualify but as of today 10-21-21 it still has free installtion on there. Not the reps fault...but maybe someone needs to take down the "free installation" if it cannot be honored. I cant say how the device works since i cant get it installed.

Ended up returning this radio because it was too big for our Nissan Rogue.

Installed myself and it works great. Screen is big and crystal clear. I am very impressed with this head unit for the cost. I ended up mounting about an inch back to avoid the screen sticking out too far.

Was looking for a new car stereo and this meet all of its needs at a great price.

The screen thou low res is fine for maps and the few apps this unit works with. The problem is apps. Only a few of my android apps work/display on this head unit. In fact the few that do work are missing features/selections on the screen vs when displayed on my galaxy s9. It's beta mode at best but my music app works as does google maps so im can live with it. The position adjustments for the large screen are good and allow my shifter just enough room.

I purchased this stereo because of the look and the volume knob. I am overall very satisfied with it but I have faced/facing two issues. The mount bracket that is recommended for this stereo is not quite compatible with it, especially in SN95 Mustangs. However, the geek squad employee who installed the stereo on my car did a custom work on it to make it fit better in my car. The second issue is that the radio goes off and on by itself (not a lot, maybe once a month). The stereo may itself not be responsible for this problem, it may have something to do with my car's battery. But let's see if I can make it go away by doing something with the battery cables and terminals.

This is really quite a nice unit. The display is very sharp and clear and having the USB port right on the front is very convenient for using CarPlay. I'm happy that Geek Squad was able to retain my steering wheel controls and backup camera in my 2015 Toyota Corolla. One thing to note, if some of your steering wheel controls don't work like you want you can customize them within the settings of the stereo.

Really love the ease of use of this unit. Plug in your iPhone in and it only boots up as Apple Car Play. The Sony interface is legit and I'm very happy. All I can say is if you are planning on replacing your factory stereo with a Smart upgrade this is the one

I bought this stereo to replace my 1999 stock stereo and i love it. I mostly use it for CarPlay, so i have maps/navigation, spotify, and hands free calling/messaging. I have a 1999 camry and installed/wired it myself using a harness connector off amazon. Would definitely recommend

Kenwood has done it again. Another fantastic product and performs flawlessly. The touch is very responsive and layout is eazy to navigate while driving. A ton of sound options as well as custom accents. A great radio. Graphics are 4k tv quality.

The stereo worked great for the first year. Now it will not connect to my phone. It cuts in and out on music. Attached is the picture that happens when I plug the phone in. I took a lot of time looking at and comparing stereos.

Pros: Clear screen, lots of functions, clear screen when playing DVD's

Cons: instruction manual lacks android auto setup, no remote.

Purchased this unit as an upgrade from a previous Kenwood. I really like the touchscreen. Its clear to see on the brightest days. Also there's multiple functions including dvd player and backup camera capability. I've tried to setup the android auto function on my own since the manual doesn't mention it, but I haven't figured it out as of yet. Not a big deal though. There is no remote which would make it alil easier when driving.

Overall, this is a pretty good unit and would recommend it to anyone who's looking to upgrade.

I have a 2004 F-150 pickup, which until yesterday had the factory radio....pre-MP3, pre-Bluetooth, pre Android, Pre-Iphone/pod/pad.....it had Am/FM and played CDs.

Bought this last week to come out of the dark ages, and learned at checkout the installer had just quit. Tried to call the next nearest Bestbuy (65 miles away), but no answer for 3 days.

Woke up yesterday and decided to just throw it in myself. Soldered and shrink-wrapped all the connections to the wiring harness, ran the microphone wire, and voila....21st century tech in my 15 year old truck.

Sounds great, Android Auto integrates everything in.....navigation, Bluetooth phone and music, address book, etc. very impressive. Download the whole manual...it comes with the quick start guide but the real one is 108 pages. It even updated the time automatically. Capabilities are almost overwhelming.

I was going to spring for the one with onboard GPS, but this is actually better because my phone and Google Maps are always current, and I’ve used the phone for years for navigation...now I can just have the map broadcast onto the dash screen.

It has extra LED colors to choose from, the extra base adjustment is awsome. Could used a wiring diagram but most can figure it out. Word the the wise, jnstall when you have time to fiddle with all the options.

Reviewed and bought the best Kenwood marine receiver for my boat. Kmr-d765 just plain sucked. Could not see display in sunlight at all. Hard to set up. Sounded awful. Paid several hundred for it and 2 years later it wont turn on. Shut down. Display says send to tech. Not having time to wire a new one in i ordered this cheap deck kmr-d375. Surprise! Wired differently. So emergency rewire project day before leaving for camp. But worth it. White background with black lcd display easily visible. 10 band eq tailored sound awesome. Blows expensive model away. No comparison. Hope it holds up longer than 2 years

Bought this receiver for my boat to replace an old unit. It was a little tricky installing, but quite satisfied with the unit overall. Delivers a decent amount of power and clear sound quality. The bluetooth option, as well as XM, Spotify and Pandora give you great music selections.

Stereo works flawlessly with my 2017 Toyota Highlander w JBL system factory setting with the meastra , only issue is the birds eye camera and backup camera are a clear downgrade form my stock stereo. Way more blurry. Also when on Bluetooth/apple CarPlay calls you have to turn the volume ALL THE WAY UP to hear the person speaking.

I bought the Kenwood DMX 1037S 10.1 Floating screen car audio. It's amazing!

Technology is only as good as it’s reliability and usability. This unit isn’t only packed with features, it works! Reliable and seamless. Wireless Apple CarPlay works great and the screen size is just right. Fits perfect in the double din of my 04 Silverado. I went with this unit because I like the screen size, having a volume knob is nice, and it also has some “quick access” buttons at the bottom of the screen, not a fan of only all screen especially when you’re driving. Very happy with the purchase!

Best 10" radio out there. Wireless carplay, full sized hdmi in the rear (compared to others that have micro hdmi that breaks), excellent audio features. By far the best radio sold by to date. 10" screen makes navigation through carplay a breeze, and I love the large volume knob and dedicated rear camera activation buttons. Screen is fully adjustable in/out and up/down to fit most vehicles. I could never go back to a standard 7" display. Well worth the cost.

This is my first Kenwood head unit (and product too) and I ended up returning the Pioneer 7600nex 9” floating display because it was too glitchy and I wanted to give Kenwood a try as I’ve had only Pioneer head units in the past.

The Kenwood is much more reliable in terms of glitches over the Pioneer (it’s not perfect but better). I also like the features it had like slideshow gallery (the pioneer allowed you to upload only a single personal pic as background).

Overall I’m very happy I got this product and don’t have to deal with Pioneer glitches (which I’ve experienced quite a bit with an iPhone and the 4500nex).

Great product. I highly recommend measuring the space where the radio will go before purchasing since it may end up covering vents and such.

I did have some issues with sound breaking up but that can happen when using wireless android auto in areas with a lot of signals.

I have the excelon model with navigation aswell nice but it loads up slow thjs model her is a few hundred dollars less and it loads faster due to no built in navigation the wireless carplay works like a charm on both units add the Maestro to get the ultimate experience this large unit is the Best ..

Great unit only thing that I noticed is that when you're using your Android phone through Bluetooth it drops a lot hopefully they can fix that with an update

You won't go wrong with this as long as you aren't looking to play DVD or CD's. Love the navigation; it's more accurate than Google Maps. Now my 2003 Dually is up to date with the backup camera and I'm also installing a front camera next week.

Very impressed with the quality of the receiver. The built in navigation is great for using on long trips. The ability to change the look of the screen is an added bonus.

Replaced the factory Bose system in my 2008 Porsche Cayman S. I chose this unit because of the completely flush front face, i didn’t like the other double DIN units that had a “button chin” at the bottom that ruined the flush look. The touch sensitive virtual buttons along the bottom work well, but my only complaint is that there is no forward & back track/seek buttons. There is the option for plugging in a adapter to use factory steering wheel controls, but my car is not equipped with any. I can use the on screen controls to adjust tracks, but when connected to CarPlay and using navigation, i would have to switch apps, to change songs, then switch back to the navigation app. I’m hoping iOS 13, and updated CarPlay interface will solve this problem.

The other complaint is that this unit often will display that the phone connected is not recognized, or is incompatible. I have a iPhone X, running the most up to date version of iOS. I have to power cycle the radio, and power cycle the phone to get things working right again. My Hyundai Kona, with the factory Hyundai CarPlay interface has never had such problems.

Save time and read for tips if you have a Jeep Wrangler JK (2018) with premium audio (with factory OEM amp). First, you will lose the front to rear fade with the ILX-W650, regardless of whether you use the iDatalink Maestro RR or the PAC RP4-CH11 to retain factory features such as amp or steering wheel controls. Many sources suggest you will retain the front to rear fade if you use the Maestro, but this only applies if you use a head unit that supports the iDatalink protocol (such as the ILX-207). The ILX-W650 does NOT support the iDatalink protocol so you will lose front to rear fade regardless...not a big deal really. So which should you use...Maestro or PAC? I learned the hard way that the Maestro will NOT support steering wheel controls on the ILX-W650 contrary to what some retailers recommend, even iDatalink's own website. At best it'll work intermittently. I troubleshooted 4-5 times via phone with iDatalink support and finally took a volt meter to the 3.5mm jack output coming from the Maestro and discovered it was only outputting 1.2V when steering buttons were being pressed, which apparently isn't enough to trigger the Alpine to recognize commands. For comparison the PAC RP4-CH11 outputted closer to 1.5V on button presses and consistent always triggered the correct commands on the ILX-W650. iDatalink phone support was friendly, but they could not figure out why their Maestro wouldn't send proper steering wheel commands to ILX-W650 even when consulting an engineer. So save yourself time and don't bother with the Maestro. It seems like a nice piece of hardware, especially with the ease of programming via computer, but it just doesn't play well with the ILX-W650. Again though, the PAC RP4-CH11 functions perfectly with steering wheel commands on the ILX-W650. On a side note, when I initially hooked up the RP4-CH11 the volume/gain going to speakers was so loud there was a constant clean "hiss" even at a volume level of 1 (only disappeared with mute). On a volume scale from the ILX-W650 from 1 to 30, anything past 12 came close to blowing the woofers with extreme distortion. The audio quality was really disappointing initially. Furthermore, a volume setting of 1 was still very audible, and no where near the old volume scale with OEM 430 radio. The problem was as if the RP4-CH11 turned the amp gain to 100% all the time regardless of volume level, causing a very loud volume scale. This problem was fixed by using the ILX-W650 RCA pre-outs (front) and connecting to the rear inputs of the RP4-CH11 harness, meaning none of the speaker outputs on the ILX-W650 were used in the end. You use the rear inputs on RP4-CH11 so that you hear assistant and nav commands since factory OEM amp only has two channels between head unit and amp. Making the change to RCA pre-outs was a HUGE improvement. The sound quality was restored along with a normal volume scale, in fact I think the overall sound quality ended up being better than the OEM 430 unit (keeping same speakers and amp). So definitely use the RCA pre-outs instead of speaker outs if you have the factory amp. All the other connections on the RP4-CH11 work flawlessly including the e-brake, reverse (I have MT), and remote amp turn on. I was able to use the included Alpine mic and place it in the same location as factory OEM by carefully unsnapping existing MIC (within A pillar trim), but leaving the factory OEM grill/rectangular trim cover for a clean look. I did try to retain the USB port within center console by purchasing a female mini USB to standard USB adapter (the connection is just behind HVAC controls on a gray box), and while the connection physically worked and supported charging, Android Auto would not load stating "incompatible device" with my Pixel 3 XL, so I suspect the conversation adapter lost something required in newer USB 3.0 protocols. But, you can easily run and tuck the Alpine included USB cable direct from ILX-W650 along center console and have cable exit between seat where it isn't seen. I was able to tuck the USB connection/joint (USB to USB-C) toward the front of center console on center floor by the small bump out storage by right driver foot for easy access to swap different USB cables if needed in future. I could not be more pleased with the RP4-CH11 and ILX-W650 combo. For under $430 with all parts needed it brings a lot of upgrades for a budget friendly price to Jeep Wrangler JK owners. Top features are Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, clean OEM styling, clean OEM similar menus and colors on the screen. It's also super easy to add an aftermarket backup camera with the existing camera input on the ILX-W650. Highly recommend this upgrade to JK owners.

I bought this unit to replace my stock Infiniti system in my 2011 Wrangler unltd. and I could not be happier! The stereo is a perfect fit in the dash and looks like a factory unit but sounds much much better. I bought it because I hated the Uconnect phone system that was horrible sounding and unusable and i wanted to install a backup camera. I lost factory nav but gained Apple CarPlay which works better anyway. The unit is simple and easy to use but has great sound and more power. It works seamlessly with my factory powered sub and was fairly easy to adjust the bass levels to mix perfectly. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and as usual, BestBuy did an amazing job with the install. My only con if you wanna call it a con, was the extra money that it cost for the adapter plugs and install kit to make it work with my steering wheel controls and USB port (that is located on the back of the stereo) were pricier than expected. Also one annoying thing is that you cannot change any settings or switch between phones unless you stop and pull the emergency brake first. A safety feature that I would love to bypass but you cannot. For the price, $299 with fee installation and 0% interest it is the best deal hands down!

Bought this double din radio to replace my single din bluetooth head unit has wired Android auto and Carplay works flawlessly with my setup has a wvga lcd resistive touch screen responds to inputs pretty well for a resistive screen dims at night and has very small bezels has a nice clean appearance. Installed on a 2004 Chevy Blazer with factory double din opening with parking brake bypass module.

Nice toner installers were excellent what is the surprise for my wife and she loves it with the Apple CarPlay helps very much for navigation

This product is perfect, and of good quality, they installed it in my Ford expedition truck, and it did very well and fit very well.

I got an adapter cable and custom mounted this into my motorcycle.

It it a cheap marine grade deck with a nice EQ.

Bluetooth range leaves a lot to be desired. It doesn't even connect well when my phones in my pocket and I'm driving my bike when the head unit is mounted in the fairing.

The display is bland. But is nice and bright so its visible in the sunlight.

All in all it works for the price.

Add a few issues with the purchase in that I was sold the wrong radio. It was not Sirius/XM capable. The MOD was very helpful and the installer who detected the problem was extremely helpful. His name was Ky. Between the two It took a little patience but all is good.

So far works as advertised, still waiting on how it performs in the elements as its on a harley. But small and performs really well. Little pricey for the size and linited overall functions but not alot of options in the stores.

One of the best cd players we have purchased. Used this one to install in a RZR XP1000 with a waterproof case. Awesome and works perfect. Bluetooth is exceptional.

Receiver was great. Built in Alexa was an added bonus. Loved the silver look compared to the boring black finish on most receivers. The only thing was due to the chip shortage, I could not buy this with HD capability.

Purchased this for a 1987 BeachCraft boat. It fit correctly in the slot and had all the wiring needed. Happy with the upgrade and love the bluetooth capability. I connect it to my phone, no issues.

Great upgrade from my 2011 Camaro's stock radio. The only "wish" I had was volume control when using Android Auto. When using the radio you simply make circles on the touchscreen to increase (clockwise) or decrease (counterclockwise) the volume. In Android Auto mode, you have to use the tiny volume up/down buttons. Other than that, everything is great. Matched with Kicker CS Series speakers all around.

Android auto was awesome but it stopped working a few days ago due to my battery being trained and adding steering wheel button converter for the head unit I'm assuming because those are the last things I did before it stopped working but before that is great

JVC My 1 St I like all the things but if you have it on GPS I did not find a way to play the radio. I find it a bit hard to use and I did not have Boynton install it it take two weeks so went to an other store grate install fast and clean but did not spend any time on how too use it. Day I boat it getting help is just bad like if you are at Walmart I did get the rune a round had to get a MGR to get me help never can get help at this store and I spend $$. This time I was sold all the parts for the install.

We bought a used 12 lincoln navigator and the stereo in it was just outdated. The navigation system was clunky and hard to use, and the bluetooth wasn't the best quality. We upgraded to this stereo and the calls are perfectly clear, the apple carplay works perfectly. We are so happy.

Replaced a stock radio on my Tahoe. Has all the features I wanted.

Installed it myself, with the purchase of the PAC harness and dash kit. Install was about an hour, retained all my steering wheel controls. Absolutely love the fact that this is totally hands free calling and text. GPS runs through the phone but does reflect on the unit. Great radio for the price.

I have an older large SUV and wanted to replace the existing radio with something more modern. I decided on this unit because of the price and the fact that it works both with Android and Apple phones. It also can be connected to a backup camera, which is another item I had installed on my SUV.

It fits perfectly in my SUV.

It works great but there is one flaw that drives me nuts. The mute button doesn't actually mute the radio receiver. I have to manually set the volume to zero. The unit does mute the radio if I get a call on my phone but if someone else wants to use their phone, the mute button lowers the volume but doesn't actually mute it.

It is for this reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5.

My radio went out and decided to get a new one with apple CarPlay. They were out of the one I original wanted but suggested the Sony, and I couldn’t be happier. I love that it’s simple and easy to use. I don’t have any unnecessary features and so far I haven’t had any issues with this product. I would highly recommend this radio if you’re looking for CarPlay or android auto. Backup camera works great as well. This one was less expensive than what I was going to go with, so it’s a win win!

Coming from a stock 2005 f150 radio to this is night and day. It sounds great, looks great, and adds too many features to mention. I really like the screen, I played around with some other cheaper units and did not like their plastic resistive touch screen, this one has a glass (or maybe rigid plastic? not sure) capacitive touch screen that works flawlessly.

this thing has some flaws, mostly it bothers me that it doesn't auto dim. it's pretty bright at night, and the only way to dim it is to go through several menu options to the dimmer page.

display is crisp-ish. does support movie file play back, but only at lower resolutions. Tried to play some HD content, but only got 5 or 6 frames per second on it. making the movie very choppy and totally unwatchable.

Capacitive screen is the way to go. Good audio quality. Great look. Easy to navigate menu. Very happy with my purchase. If you're considering this over the 3000, don't hesitate to get this one. The screen difference is a big deal.

First, I am grateful for the polite and caring Geek Squad guys in the mobile department of the Cumming, Georgia store. This is my first aftermarket radio (at least in modern times), and was impressed about the systematic way it was installed - a great job! I thought this item would be a good idea for safety (and legal) reasons - in Georgia it is illegal to be grasping a phone while driving, and I am a long time Spotify, Pandora, Podcast client, etc user. A good idea, but was also expecting for this to be a compromise, because first of all, I thought it would not look that good. I thought there would be a big bezel appearance to fill up the dash hole, and that would scream AFTERMARKET, and I like the original look in my cars; however, that did not happen, it looks very much like it belongs, and it takes up most of the space formerly occupied by the Ford Shaker 500 double din stereo in my 2007 Mustang. Another reason for apprehension was some reports of glitchy operation. I have had virtually all smooth operation, This may be because I am benefiting from the fact I acquired a new iPhone right before the radio, and perhaps the Sony plays nicer with the more recent handset. Third, I thought the sound quality may not be as good. I always liked the stock radio’s sound. Happy again, because the Sony is just as good, to say the least, and I think it sounds better when playing loud material. I highly recommend this item.

Loved this unit when I first purchased it. 30 days after I had it installed Android Auto no longer works. There is no way to get it to connect! Did ALL the trouble shooting stuff suggested on the internet. Checked my phone's settings, tried different USB cables, deleted and reinstalled Android Auto, and NOTHING. Just error messages!! It never connected again. The main reason I bought it was for the interface with my phone which is the one thing that doesn't work. Going to try to return it ASAP!!

This was the best decision we could have made! The installer was very professional and knew exactly what he was doing. He did a great job of explaining exactly how to use the Bluetooth stereo!!!!! I was very impressed!!

for starters, I'm comparing this to the pioneer avh 500ex and the 1550nex.

the JVC holds its own with sound.. rich, full music. It has a more detailed equalizer with double the sound options... This radio is fluid, ita controls make sense. the android auto is great, bluetooth works well also.

the pioneers In this cost range sound good but have terrible functionality. They are 'android compatible' but that means their Bluetooth works and thats all.

My ONLY hangup with this radio is the volume led lights are blue and the pioneer is whatever you want. the jvc screen is nicer, its apps work, literally no reason to go with any other radio in this class.

I really enjoy this indash it's easy to use just like using your phone I use it with android auto and it work great, google maps with navigation, spotify, Waze, bluetooth, radio, less distracting then using your phone while driving highly recommended to do modifications to your car. Purchased to replace my Honda Ridgeline factory head unit. This stereo is feature packed and so easy to use. Installation was easy with it having a small chasis.

Bought as a gift for my boyfriends ‘03 Trailblazer. It was definitely a huge upgrade from his stock radio. It makes the sound so much cleaner than before. The picture is nice. The Carplay works wonders. He can just speak to text people instead of being distracted. Highly recommend. Good quality for the price and brand.

I installed this in my 2011 Cadillac Escalade to replace to stock Navigation unit that was outdated. I used the Maestro module and harness to retain all factory functions. This maintained steering wheel controls, and this harness allows you to customize the steering wheel controls to do what you want, retained seperate video function for both rear tvs and even wires in to the OBD2 port to read check engine lights and other live data from the vehicles computer(tire pressure, intake temp, RPMs, and a ton of other live data).

Had best buy install it in my vehicle. Nice when it works. Only used it less than a month. Fits bade in the vehicle.

Doesn't always work in reverse (back up camera). Wireless android auto drops out 1 foot away (it says to move closer?)

Mode switch on steering column doesn't work with stereo, eventhough I bought extra accessories to make that happen I was told.

Now it's locked up with my dvd stuck in it. I have to put it in reverse to see the home screen. At all other times it's a blank screen. Now with the virus thing I have to wait for best buy to get up and running to take it out. Not a good experience.

Overall it's a good investment so far. Too of the custom options don't work. Won't allow you to remove warning signs for construction or props for gas stations. Otherwise works fine.

This Puoneer Avic is a Grady full capability unit that looks and works great but was tricky to install in a Mercedes due to fiber optic cabling best to have a professional do it!

This is a near perfect fit for the opening on a third gen Tacoma. Offering wireless Carplay/AA, this unit outshines most competitors with it's performance, display quality, ease of use, and ability to retain steering wheel/information cluster communication. While this unit is indeed expensive, the pros out-way the cons in my opinion

** You will need to buy additional accessories to have this unit communicate with your vehicle successfully. Do research before you buy.

Pros:

- Wireless Carplay/AA is amazing, using Waze (with it actually being accurate) is awesome.

The UI that Pioneer created is streamlined, unlike the complex mess the Joying was.

- I have OEM speakers, and they sound REALLY good now compared to the older Entune unit.

- The provided Mic seems to also work well, I've called a few people and the consensus has been positive so far.

- The display is gorgeous, large, and really fits in well with the truck. The screen glare is also not as bad as some other units I've seen.

Cons:

- I really hate not having a volume knob anymore, and that's something I'll just need to get used to the more I use this.

- This is a very expensive upgrade, I feel like the price should have been a few hundred dollars less.

- Getting the firmware update to work was annoying at first.

- The CarAVAssist app isn't designed well, and I'd expect a more intuitive and informative app for the premium price point Pioneer offers. Apps are always subject to changes, so I'll keep my fingers crossed that they have something lined up to improve their app.

Wanting a bigger screen, wireless Apple Car play, and retain all my functions from my factory radio, I researched a lot of forums and FB pages. There are a few other alternatives out there, but you end up spending about the double the price. This Pioneer performs stellar, has all my factory radio options (temperature, gauges, etc.) and much more.

Very inconsistent. Sometimes it works properly but mostly it does not. The CarPlay is always malfunctioning so Navigation and music is not available. It’s an expensive radio or Bluetooth receiver at most. The functionality is also horrible and not user friendly at all. Coming from a highly savvy technology user.

Most cost effective option that I’ve seen when it comes to head units with Apple car play and Android auto. Highly satisfied.

Its a very nice radio. I had mine professionally installed and i cant a bad word about it. It makes a car ride so much nicer, especially the long trips. When you have to professionally installed all your apps that you have on the phone are compatible with the modes in the car.

Love this radio. Connects with my iphone and makes it easy to listen to my music and reads my text messages for me as I'm driving.

It does all the basics. I like the glass capacitive touch screen Vs the plastic resistive touch screens

Apple CarPlay works well however it does lose the wired connection on occasion may 1/10 times using it. But a simple unplug and plug back in fixes the issue every time. Sound quality is decent but not as good as higher end units. At first the clock would not stay correct but a firmware update from kenwood fixed that issue.

By far this stereo is amazing! Kenwood never seems to let me down! The Apple car play feature is very useful, especially when using Apple Maps. I recommend this car stereo to anyone looking to upgrade theirs. The slim body is something I like as well, which takes less space. For the price it’s a great budget radio that works really well, the touch response is very accurate unlike some other radios out there.

Product is good and works great. The only flaw for me is that when you use the Apple car feature, the app freezes and closes sometimes. It’s an easy fix(disconnect and reconnect) but it’s does get annoying sometimes. Overall good product.

Nice radio, but the display is not HD. Haven’t figured out how to customize the boot up screen to add vehicle logo. Doesn’t have front camera input, so when adding a front camera through the aux input, you lose the audio from the radio or other source.

Radio has all the features that I wanted. Car Play works good and Best Buy installed for free with purchase. I would recommend this radio.

Holy cow. First off, I have an aftermarket stereo system on my Jeep Wrangler JKU and oh man, this brought power and quality that I never knew existed. Sounds like a freaking concert. I have also bought the Maestro parts necessary to link the cars computer to the Radio, that way I have all the gauges and information like RPM, MPG, Speed, all in real time. Thirdly, it comes with an HDMI input so I bought the alpine USB/HDMI accessory extension, a long with the Apple HDMI converter so I can screenplay anything on the radio from my IPhone. Fourthly, CarPlay is amazing, I have never touched my phone less in the car while driving, makes the music sound better as well. The design is perfect for making any older car look and feel amazingly new in the inside. There is a dim light on the very bottom making it obvious at night that the radio is floating in a futuristic style. I love it. The only thing I can say COULD BE BETTER, is the quality of the display. I believe it is a 480 but hopefully could be a 1080 in the future. Doesn’t bother me that much because the sound makes up for it by a million , and to me that’s why I bought this radio, for an all around good purchase for me, the driver.

finally finished installing the radio on my tahoe 07 and its insane! To get the most of it you have to be willing to spend more money to get the full features. xm radio, maestro link, etc.. do your decent research before buying the radio otherwise you will not be able to appreciate its full potential. You can also watch your firestick on it (using your hotspot).

This unit is unusable with Carplay or Android Auto. Maps, be it WAZE, APPLE MAPS, or GOOGLE MAPS, all display washed out during DAY MODE. You can barely see the streets you are driving on, unless the streets are displayed with darker lines (see image), which is clear an issue with the color contrast on the unit that cannot be manually adjusted. Forget about calling Alpine's technical support, as I did multiple times, but my experience was horrible. They basically said "That is what you get".

I wanted to swap my 8.4 UAQ UCONNECT on my 2016 RAM1500 so that I could have Carplay, but the tradeoff is way too much. Having said that, the unit clearly has tons of potential, but because you rely entirely on maps through CARPLAY, this unit is unusable. As such, I don't recommend anyone buying it.

Alpine hit a home run with this head unit for cars that didn't come with CarPlay or Android Auto from the factory. Installation was fairly straight forward, however, a word of caution regarding the "power plate" when doing the install you need to be careful as it seems like one could easily break the switch taking the plate on and off. I recommend putting a piece of electrical tape over the switch to hold the switch down as well as protect from when you put the plate on.

Bestbuy techician took his time and care in installation - John @ BestBuy Parkmeadows (Lonetree, CO). I was skeptical that the alpine Halo 9 inch HU could be installed in my 2012 Mercedes GL. The results are remarkable! Looks and operate like an OEM infotainment system with Apple CarPlay.

Free installation (parts extra) is a major plus. Other stores have quoted more than $500 as a custom installation.

I needed to upgrade my stock 2011 Golf, and this head unit modernized it in one swoop. It has every feature I can think of, and with the proper wiring and adapters, retained all my stock wheel controls, camera, and antennas. Go watch a few reviews or breakdowns on this unit on YouTube, I can’t even list all the features, to much to write. I also had a iLX-107 in my last car, and this thing blows it away.

I was skeptical about installing this in a older car, but afterwards I am so glad that I did it. It sounds phenomenal and it’s easy to navigate.

Put this in my 07 Caliber R/T. I'm a car mechanic so installation was not a do it yourself friendly. It did fit and when I finally turned it it was everything and then some. Used the maestro adapter to add even more functionality to my new infotainment system. This is my 6th Kenwood touch screen unit in 12yrs. I keep coming back because the head units are reliable and user friendly. This one is the first for me with apple car play and android auto. Really nice features to have. As always love the tunability of my audio settings to suit my listening needs.

Installed in a 2001 Jeep TJ of course I had to modify the jeep a little to get it to fit and I was prepared with the correct bezel and mounting kit and wiring harness for the TJ. After a flawless dash modification and Kenwood DNX577S install I also installed the Kenwood Dash Cam. I did have a problem configuring the dash cam to the head unit and with the Best Buy floor Mgr in Meridian MS we were able to solve the programming in the parking lot.

PURCHASE IN LATE MAY. HAD IT INSTALLED IN JULY BY BEST BUY. I HAD A NICE RADIO WITHOUT A CD PLAYER. LOVE THIS RADIO, BUILT IN GPS, CD PLAYER, UBS, BACK UP CAMERA, HAS A LOT NICE FEATURES. I HAVE GOTTEN USE TO DELAY IN UPLOADING. IT TAKES TIME TO GET FAMILIAR WITH ALL THE FEATURES.

I installed this in my 95 chevy van, and it works great. It has everything I want and more. Only draw backs are, the load time from when you start the vehicle is a bit slow, and navigation is a little difficult because of all the options. But overall I'm very happy i bought it!

This wasn't the original radio I had went with. The installation parts that was ordered by Best Buy was wrong but I was shown how the mistake happened. I didn't knock the person that placed the order because I understood how it happened. I could have waited for the correct parts to come in but decided to go with this, which worked with the parts that were ordered. I couldn't be happier with it. I'm kinda glad for the mistake.

Just had it for a week and it is a very nice system. Like everything so far. Like the hands free use of the system; a must have in todays connected world. SiriusXM is working as expected.

I have one concern and that is the Garmin NAV system. A major reason we bought the Kenwood. We use the truck it's installed in for RV travel. Normally I put together the next days route on my computer. In the old Garmin NUVI, I could use Base Camp and then just upload to NUVI. I don't find anyway to upload my maps to the Kenwood. Seems two steps forward and three back. Will keep looking for a solution.

The radio that came in my 2018 Ford F-150 did not have a GPS or was capable of playing Sirius XM. After realizing that in 2017 when I purchased the pickup new, I began searching for a replacement. To my dismay, there was no known radiio that had that capability. So in 2018,2019 and 2020 I continued my search. Now KENWOOD has such a radio that is a perfect fit in my dash with all the bells and whistles in addition to the GPS and Sirius radio; better yet it came with 3 months of free SiriusXM.

Between 12pm and around 4pm when the sunlight falls directly under the dashboard, it is really difficult to look into the screen. Although it is said to have antireflectant sticker or coating, I continuously have to tilt head to get a proper view of the screen. Thing gets even bad if wearing a polarized sunglasses. I do not have complains over the user interface. It is infact very minimilastic and serves the purpose.

Great sound, easy to use. It works happily with my infinity speakers and subwoofer. I thing I need to remind everyone who at is iPhone user and is looking at this unit. Quality of the lightning cable plays important role. With stock Apple cable, it works ok, just don’t expect too much out of your system. Once you swap the cable with something like an Audioquest CARBON, it’s like night and day kind of difference.

enjoying this stereo. great upgrade to my 2002 Chevy Suburban. immediately connects to the Apple phone. love the back-up camera, microphone, screen size & sound quality. BestBuy also did a great job installing the unit.

This radio is great. It pairs with my android phone really well and the ability to talk and get directions and tell it to find the nearest location and have it show directly on the screen is great. The bluetooth calling works very well and is clear. Highly recommend.

Would not recommend. Can't even keep the correct time. Keeps taking 43 minutes of the time. Why 43 minutes? Also, get pixelization when going into Android Auto. I have tried resetting the radio but doesn't help. Tying to see what recourse I have with JVC and Best Buy.

Works well exactly what we were looking and not as expensive

I must start this by saying that all I ever use is radios made by jvc. I was replacing a jvc double din that came out in 2016. This new unit didnt have half the features my old one did. To start the clock will not keep time. It constantly resets. The audio quality is terrible for music,podcasts, and especially phone calls. The mirror mode feature is a huge joke of a feature. 90 percent of the apps you want to use are block by the jvc mirror mode app you are forced to use. Android auto has high hopes but doesn't support many apps for music or podcasts. Also you are constantly stuck on google maps and can't exit from it. So it you have a data cap on your phone you will run through it quick. You cant touch the screen in a circle to turn up the volume like my last unit. Also if you have a song or podcast with a long name it will not scroll at all. Save your money and the head aches and dont buy this unit.Oh and the worst part was while trying to update the firmware the update failed and it bricked the unit. I searched for hours online till i finally found a way to fix it by luck.

I have been very disappointed with this radio. The clock time does not hold, and I end up correcting it more than once a day. The radio shut off and restarted itself while I was driving. I have also encountered the screen fritzing and showing only scrambled colors for multiple minutes at a time on more than one occasion.

This is on the M560BT unit. It looks nice in the car and I have not had any issues with it. I used the screen to change the volume and that works fine. I have no issue with the date changing as others have stated.

I added the steering wheel harness so I can change volume, mute the radio, seek preset up, and seek presets down. All this works fine

The screen responds well to touches and is clear.

Apple car play was easy to set up and I have used it most of the time.

Also installed a backup camera which it responds to with a great picture. It would be nice if it allowed you to reverse the picture as some backup cameras do not properly display the image behind you.

It is half as deep as other radios. This is nice as you have more space behind the radio to house your new harnesses in.

I struggled with the dizzying array of choices for double din head units, but I ended up selecting this one due to an open box being available at my local Best Buy.

That was an excellent decision. This radio has exceeded my expectations in every way. Typically I add an amp or two to all of my vehicles, and externally amplify all of my highs and add a sub. When I saw that this unit supplies 22w RMS x4, I doubted I'd be satisfied with the audio quality. I was proven wrong, with the factory 6 speaker system in my '08 Fusion, it sounds surprisingly good. Deep full bass and clear treble all the way up to 3/4 volume on the unit, from the tuner or over Android Auto.

Android auto seems to be quite worthwhile as well. I struggled with whether I'd use the features enough to justify the additional cost, but I will now that I know how well it works. It can understand me clearly, even with my phone inside the center compartment where I ran the usb cable from the radio.

If you're looking for a Double Din, touchscreen head unit with Android Auto, look no further. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Had employees install and it was great! Have had little to no issues so far & enjoy CarPlay on it. UI on actual radio is unattractive but if you plan on using it for(wired) CarPlay and android auto I can assure you it’ll be a nice purchase. Not sure how it compares to cheaper ones but this unit was nice!

This radio gets the job done, but there is 2 things that makes it not worth $300 +. one: is that when changing to different apps, or different programs on the radio, its kinda slow or doesnt do what its supposed to and not in mirror mode. Its when your using the radio itself. two: The clock ALWAYS CHANGES ON ITS OWN. Every time I need to change the time no matter what. This is extremely frustating for a radio that is, again, More than $300+ . I should have no issues especially with the time. i would not recommend this. unless it drops and it only cost about $100.

I was hesitant at first to but this one vs the similar ones around the $1100 price point, but this is really a great unit. Apple car play works incredibly well. The image quality is great. Overall I’ve been impressed with it.

Grate unit x the price

After looking at a few other more expensive options for a radio with a large “floating display”, I came across this one at a local sound shop. I was having a hard time justifying the cost of other more expensive name brand units when I was going to be using CarPlay almost exclusively anyway. After playing around with this radio at the shop, the only thing I was worried about was the sound quality, however after installing it and using it the sound quality is actually very good. I was really just hoping it wouldn’t sound worse than my stock radio, but it had turned out to be quite an improvement!

The display on this radio is very bright and vibrant, CarPlay works great, the screen is adjustable up and down and tilts left and right. My backup camera had no issue hooking up with it. I do have a company with the backup camera screen, there is a big yellow banner at the top the ways “check your surroundings” and it blocks a good portion of my camera image. I ended up tuning off the parking guide in settings, which removes this yellow banner, however you also lose the parking guide lines. I never really used them so it does not bother me, but it is something to note.

You can also turn off the “EULA” in settings so you don’t get that warning you have to agree to every time the unit powers up. And although it seems like a small thing, having a physical volume button is great, you would be surprised how many radios do not include this.

I also wouldn’t mind a higher resolution on such a big display, but that would not stop me from selecting this until again.

If you’re looking to add a large touch screen with CarPlay you cannot find a better unit

Horrible quality. It makes my Bose speakers sound like tin cans. I’m debating putting my stock 2003 audi radio back in because that’s how awful the audio sounds. The screen is equally poor in quality, you can count all the pixels on screen. If I weren’t an audio engineer I would’ve made the tech remove the radio as soon as I saw the EQ screen. The biggest issue is that I can’t enjoy my music at all.

Works perfectly with a lot of convenient futures a perfect size screen for a backup camera.

Great CarPlay unit. Got it for my 2008 Lincoln MKX. I’ve heard that boss is not a good company, but this unit is really nice for the price. The only bad thing is, is when you change the brightness, it doesn’t save and the annoying warning screen. Other than that, it has great sound and the calls are crystal clear. Love that it is adjustable. Also the glare is a bit much, but the brightness is enough.

Sleek design and sounds great. With CarPlay and auto android ready. I love the looks on my van and have a back up camera too. Price is awesome and it’s not expensive.

I am quite pleased with my purchase. Installed in 2012 Chevy Equinox. Wireless Android auto is great! The system overall it's pretty quick and snappy. The preamp in the unit makes the factory system sound non existent. Great unit great price!

I was so excited to install this head unit, and despite the negative reviews I wanted to believe mine would be part of the positive reviews.

The wifi and Bluetooth on this is beyond shotty. I’ll try to switch it to USB and it’ll take 10 minutes of unplugging, replugging and messing with setting before it recognizes there is a device connected. I spent ~$5000 for a stereo system and install on my Ferrari, and this thing is an absolutel JOKE!

The rest of my system is amazing. This unit does look nice, but it is severely lacking in functionality and actually very distracting while you’re driving.

I wish I listened to the negative reviews and purchased something else. Don’t make this mistake!

I bought this unit for the wireless carplay and sleek look, but the experience has been less than stellar. Saying that, when it works, it's brilliant. I haven't really bothered with any of the features outside of Carplay as the UI is extremely cumbersome and the hotspot setup is a pain. Carplay is where the trouble starts however, nine times out of ten it will not start automatically on boot-up, which leads to a trip through several clicks of the base system. I'd rather have saved my money and spent the time it takes getting to Carplay by just plugging into a non-wireless sytem. I also don't understand why these new NEX systems don't offer the ability to customize the splash screen, but that's not too much of a concern. Probably the biggest issue with this system are its touch buttons. In the event that you actually manage to hit the small touch window that activates any of the switches, there is substantial lag in any operation. Adjusting volume is an absolute nightmare and best left to the remote that comes bundled with the device (or steering wheel controls should you be so equipped). Otherwise the system is decent and gets the job done, the screen is bright and even in my convertible in direct sunlight is legible.

If you can do without wireless carplay, I'd save the money and get another unit. This simply isn't worth the premium for an otherwise lackluster device. Once they sort out the software bugs that may change though.

I picked this up as for a vehicle without CarPlay. I have the AVH-2550NEX wired CarPlay receiver in one of my other vehicles and picked this up in hopes of getting the wireless CarPlay experience.

Pros:

- Display is bright and easy enough to use. Compared to another brand and model I picked up to choose between the two, a Kenwood DMX907S, this screen appears brighter than the Kenwood and in terms of touch use, appears to be cleaner. For example, the Kenwood seems to get more "smudgy" than this one, so perhaps Pioneer is using a better screen coating to help with this. While I didn't have a way to measure it, visually, it appears the LCD screen of the Pioneer is closer to the glass than the Kenwood, which might explain its seemingly brighter appearance.

- Wireless CarPlay connects reliably so far and without issues. (v.1.30 firmware)

- HD Radio (love the clearer and fuller sound that comes with this)

- Wired CarPlay/Android Auto with a single port (Kenwood uses two separate USB lines for some reason, with each not playing nicely with the other standard).

- Fewer "buttons" or touch zones on the face (compared to the 2660NEX), making it less likely you'll press the wrong one while trying to keep your eyes on the road.

- Customizable home screen (within limits)

Cons:

- No mute/attenuate button, also my main gripe with an otherwise enjoyable 2550NEX. Really, Pioneer? Yes, you can press and hold a button for mute to take effect, but if you think about times in your vehicle with a traditional radio when you want silence, you want it to be as simple and reaching out and pushing or twisting the knob. You don't want to be holding a button for two seconds waiting for it to take effect. I know many newer vehicle will have such controls on the steering wheel, but mine doesn't and it's annoying to not have the immediate responsiveness of a volume knob or dedicated mute/attenuate button to remedy that.

- The new user interface on this model (and it's bigger siblings) is slow. The respective functions, for example, HD Radio, CarPlay, and settings, all tend to work well but the the home screen of the UI/OS takes longer than when it appears to be fully functional. For example, while boot time is about 8 seconds to get you to the warning and home screen, you're left with a bit of a Windows XP experience as you wait for the respective functions of the device to become fully functional. If you select HD Radio or try and adjust the volume up or down, you won't get a response for some time, perhaps as little as 5 seconds or as many as 10-15 seconds. I can appreciate Pioneer's efforts to create a fast boot time but if the system isn't actually functional when the home screen pops up, I would prefer a slightly longer boot time to yield a fully functional home screen.

-- Per the UI concerns, swiping to different screens feels and looks slow & is at times unresponsive. I'm not sure what the refresh rate is on the screen, but when swiping to another screen it seems as though you can see the sort of flickering you might expect of a slower refresh rate. Pioneer also tries to give that movement an effect, somewhat akin to a slow-close cabinet or dresser drawer. You can make a swift swiping motion, but the movement of the graphics on the screen slows that down with the noted "slow-close" effect. There are also times where multiple attempts to try and swipe to a different screen are needed to get it to do so.

-- UI Design elements: The home screen is okay and I like that you can move around and decide which "apps" or functions you want on it. For example, a workaround for not having a mute button is to have "Source Off" as a function on the "dock" of the home screen (though if you're in CarPlay or HD Radio and not on the home screen, you have to go thru a step to get there and make use of it). My main gripe with the 2550 and 2660NEX is that you're more limited in what you can change in the bottom and side docks in those UI's. That said, one aspect of the home screen that I want nothing to do with are the suggestions that come up in the main window for whatever is playing. For example, you'll get the album art or graphics for a given HD Radio station, but then it will show two small icons and information suggesting different stations or media based on what you're listening to. It clutters up the home screen and I don't see a use for it. e.g, You more than likely know which radio stations you'd like to listen to and have set as favorites for the radio. I have yet to look into it more closely, but I am left wondering, given the connected nature of the device, if it might also be collecting data to make suggestions for listening when streaming media. e.g., is the UI simply relaying what iTunes, Android, or Alexa are suggesting or is it doing a separate data collection in order to make suggestions? I ask because I imagine Pioneer has limits with what it can do with its own UI. For example, using widgets on the home screen of the receiver as an example, I've got my iPhone wirelessly connected to the vehicle, which pulls and streams all kinds of data to make CarPlay function, but I have to establish a separate hotspot connection to get the Pioneer weather widget to give me any information? Why not do this via the CarPlay connection or is this Pioneer's workaround for limits that perhaps Apple has put on the CarPlay interface? e.g., there is no weather app in CarPlay, likely to help keep your eyes on the road when you can just ask for the conditions via Siri, and, perhaps Apple keeps the iPhone's CarPlay data contained within its own apps. To boil it down, is Pioneer relaying recommendations from my Music app or is it collecting data from what I'm playing?

-- Last point on the UI: I wish there were a way to do away with the effects imposed on the UI. e.g., the "slow-close" swipe. Give us the option to turn off the eye candy, specifically when the eye candy seems to make the user experience a bit clunky. Just give me/us a smooth swipe that reflects the speed with which I'm trying to do so.

- The apps or widgets on the home screen have little utility, aside from the time and what is playing. It's nice to see the weather, but the receiver first needs to pair with your phone as a hotspot and this doesn't happen by default. I have to go into my settings on my phone, even though it is set up to be accessible as a hotspot, and into the hotspot feature in order for the device to become visible to the receiver and to make a connection, even after I have already set everything up with the password to do so supposedly automatically. I think it's an issue with iPhones, but still, if I have CarPlay (or Android Auto), I can just do a voice command to have Siri tell me the temperature or forecast. Additionally, having tried to simply remove the smaller widget for what is defaulted to sports, I'm not allowed to resize the clock widget to simply take up the space of both items. e.g., you're forced to have it blank or put a widget in the smaller space. Having a browser built into the UI doesn't make much sense either. I've got a smartphone with native browsers built in but I'm going to use a wifi hotspot and a likely slower response on my receiver for surfing? I'm not sure what Pioneer was thinking with these extra widgets, aside from thinking that if they threw some "chrome" on the UI, people would be attracted to something shiny and new. The one scenario where the data-driven widgets makes sense might be if your vehicle has a hotspot built in and would allow for such data to be pulled automatically.

- Volume buttons seem slow in response or unresponsive to multiple taps. e.g., If you wanted to tap the volume up or down a set number of times (something I do on the 2550NEX), there isn't a guarantee that you'll get that number of adjustments in the volume. If you have a relatively quick but steady number of taps, the first will typically register while others that follow are not guaranteed. Or to put it another way, the same types of pushes on a mechanical button on my 2550NEX, which register without fail, are not guaranteed when using this device's touch side bar. Ironically, if you tap one of the volume symbols on the side bar and then move your hand to use the volume adjustment tools that pop up on the screen, the adjustments appear to be much more responsive and reliable as compared to the side bar. Really, Pioneer, the on-screen volume adjustments are more reliable than the dedicated ones on the side bar? Touching back on my "pro" from above, it's only so helpful to have fewer touch zones to work with on the side bar, helping to avoid touching the wrong one, if the responsiveness of the side bar isn't what it needs to be. In terms of UI responsiveness, if you catch the system "thinking" when you press and hold a volume symbol on the side bar, it might take a second or two before it registers and begins to adjust. I did find that pressing and holding the volume symbols offered a consistent volume adjustment, but if there is a delay in response before you start hearing the adjustment beeps through the speakers, it might throw off how much of an adjustment you're looking for.

Why am I giving 3 stars and not lower for all the detailed "Cons" I've offered and likely to keep it? For my purposes, the noted issues are acceptable because my primary uses will avoid a number of them. Similar to my use of the 2550NEX, the majority of my use is done either in HD Radio or in CarPlay, or in CarPlay while listening to HD Radio. In this sense, the home screen is a launch point to get into those functions, but I'm not compelled when listening to the radio to leave that interface and continue listening on the home screen (and get annoyed at the cluttered suggested stations that pop up). My main functionality gripe in keeping it will be the unresponsive UI until everything is fully loaded. Hopefully a firmware upgrade will help.

For the money this was not worth it & I am returning it....it is not user friendly, the volume buttons were very small & the touch screen is not sensitive enough (you have to touch the screen many times before it responds) Also, the installer put the microphone on top of my dash. Didn’t even try to hide it. I went to another Best Buy to talk with someone & a supervisor in the auto section said that the microphone should have been placed in a different area. So if you are planning on having Best Buy install, pick a good one!

Great replace for my stock 2010 camaro ss radio. Been wanting to upgrade for years to a smart radio lol. I only wish they had a true android operating system on it but I have my Google chrome cast hooked up through the HDMI when I need it lol.

I bought two of these to replace the 1330NEX and 1440NEX I had in my vehicles. Both of those models were great and I never had any issues. The main reasons why I changed was because I wanted the better capacitive screen, the smaller chassis and the wireless CarPlay. My initial impressions were good. The screen is definitely better but the new interface takes a while to get used to, in fact it has a lot of stuff that I think makes it unnecessarily complicated. The new operating system also has a lot of glitches, as if they rushed this to market. The wireless CarPlay sometimes doesn’t connect and various systems disappear and reappear. I also don’t see the real need for HDMI since I can play movies from USB, and I’ll probably never use the Alexa.

I’m hoping they come out with future upgrades to fix the issues I’m having because I really like the appearance of this unit. Right now if you just want a better screen, don’t need a small chassis and can do without wireless CarPlay, I’d suggest the much cheaper DMH-2660NEX.

For the most part this Apple car play stereo is great. Connects with my phone almost as soon as I start the ignition. The issues is there has been a few times were it noes not connect at all. I think for the price of the unit all these bugs should be fixed . Maybe in a $259 unit I but not in something of this price.

Nice upgrade from my stock unit!

I shopped around for a while looking for a new touch screen unit finally decided to go with the JVC - 6.8" KW-V6660

It has everything I was looking for

Apple play, Android Mirroring,

touch screen, Bluetooth, CD & DVD.

Great unit, Great sound, had it installed by Best buy.. they did a awesome job installing it! It looks factory you would never know it's aftermarket, they even hooked up my backup camera and stirring wheel controls. My only complaint is some glare from the sun.

But over all! Good unit!

I am very satisfied with this JVC stereo/carplay. It is user friendly, which I really needed that. The screen is bright & clear. I chose this carplay because it had all the features I wanted including a cd player. It easily connected up with my phone.

Awesome radio great screen with dvds eq is also easy to use and great sound

After much searching for an affordable reputable brand stereo, I settled on this one. I had a few important traits I was looking for. It needed the ability to play CDs, be Bluetooth enabled, and to be able to connect to my phone to display GPS on the screen. Android Auto was the promised solution for this. But from the get-go it was flaky. While it will do Bluetooth to my phone for playing music and audio apps you have to plug into the USB port for GPS. After connecting to Android Auto after a couple of minutes it would crash and you'd have to start all over again. By this time you're now driving down the road and have to try to get it going again while moving which was presenting an even worse scenario than just using my phone only for GPS from the beginning. I don't know why Android Auto keeps crashing? Another minor frustration is it takes about 10-15 seconds to boot up which seems like a long time when you want to set music or book app up before you start driving.

Radio replaced 2004 GMC YUKON original radio. It gave me Apple Car Play (with hardwire cable). I thought the original radio was bad, but it turned out to be the original amplifier. I “think” radio crashed on me one time after 30 minutes of play, but I need more screen time to be sure. Not sure if sound is as good as original radio ??? (But it’s close.)

Love the radio, easy to use except for the volume. It’s kind of a pain to turn the volume up or down while you’re driving since you have to push the button. Just seems to be awkward to me. Wish it was a knob instead or had the switch on my steering wheel. Other than that it’sa great radio.

I purchased this to replace the factory nav unit in my 2011 Toyota 4Runner in order to bring it into this decade.

Pros:

-wireless CarPlay works great, sounds great, looks great

-used maestro to integrate factory backup camera and telemetry from the car. Works great, even shows tire pressure and temp in individual tires and which door is open which is something the Toyota doesn’t have a way to display stock in this year model. Maestro also integrates the factory amp and sub in this truck.

Cons:

-no multi-touch gestures…can’t expand maps by pinching or spreading fingers

-occasional random reboots, this has improved with a firmware update I performed, but it still happens but infrequently.

- 3 antennnas: AM/FM/HD, WiFi AP, & GPS. The Best Buy installer buried the WiFi & GPS antennas in my dash and it was causing navigation issues. I think it uses both the phone and headunit gps. I returned to Bestbuy and the problem was resolved with they moved the GPS antenna to the dash.

-In non CarPlay mode, the headunit is underwhelming, the touch screen isn’t as accurate or sensitive ans the HD radio function is only available here.

-Maybe there is a setting to control this but if I’m listening to HD radio and a phone is paired via CarPlay, if you open any app that has AV capabilities on the phone (Instagram, FB, etc) , the headunit automatically changes the input away from radio to the phone.

-Aside from a firmware upgrade, I’ve never gotten the Pioneer CarAVAssit app to work properly to customize wallpaper etc, it’s not straightforward or intuitive.

-gauges from maestro integration don’t look that great.

Summary: it lacks a level of polish I would expect for a unit in this price range. I don’t regret the purchase, it solved my issue of modernizing my paid for truck and staving off my urge to purchase. If I could stay in CarPlay mode is where this unit shines (I’ve never tried android auto and can’t speak to that.) if I could access all functions from within CarPlay (Including HD radio and car/engine telemetry) and thereby stay in the CarPlay full time, I’d be way happier.

Little hard to setup on your own, but other than that it’s a very good stereo.

Pioneer outdid themselves with this one Huge 9" screen crisp HD quality for android auto and apple carplay. Its a new unit with kinks here and there hopefully updates in the near future but overall a very great build!!!

I bought this through Best Buy but I ended up returning it after 30 days and bought a Kenwood 10.1”(DMX1037S) HD floating display. It has nice features like hotspot connectivity and Alexa, which my Kenwood does not,but the only problem is that I had it connected to my iPhone hotspot but I would always have to reconnect every time I restarted the car because it would lose hotspot connection.I like that the fact that the screen didn’t have a lot of buttons and didn’t take up too much space so you could have a 9 inch screen that was actually roughly around 9 inches (my Kenwood has a few buttons and a knob, so it’s much larger than 10.1”), so it doesn’t take up too much space in the place where you put it.

The OS on the Kenwood is much more reliable and fluid than the Pioneer, that’s why I suggest they improve the software with firmware updates, which I think will come along but I didn’t wanna wait for them. I also like the fact that Pioneer offers this model in a 9 inch and 10 inch version, Kenwood only offers this model so far in 10.1 inch.

Awesome radio installed on my 2021 kia sedona van. Stock backup camera looks awesome thru the big screen, sounds great everything works great except FM radio reception is next to nothing compared to stock, my kenwood, and jvc stereos i had in here. Sirius and wireless Android auto work great though.i also added the maestro rr2 for vehicle info etc

This radio is excellent. Seamlessly syncs with my phone for Android auto. Has car play for Apple as well. To use Alexa you have to have a Hotspot on your phone, but works great. You can access YouTube with the on board web browser, but need a parking brake bypass for it to work while driving. For those of you that have the bypass, you can access Netflix for those long drives via the browser. You simply set it up through your pioneer app. Simply has every option u could want including Sirius xm radio

Vehicle: Dodge Challenger (2010). Yes, it fits.

As a Apple user, I searched and searched for an aftermarket wireless Apple CarPlay system and this seemed to be the best.

Touchscreen: lag. That’s the only downfall. I updated the firmware for the first time (after connecting to my phone via hotspot and CarAVassist) but it didn’t seem to help. It gets really noticeable when you touch for the next track (Spotify) and you’ll wait for 2-3 seconds for it to play. Hopefully fixing that is a priority for future updates.

Wireless Apple Carplay: works great. Takes a few seconds to connect after the “do not operate when driving” screen hits. Initial setup requires you to plug into the phone via USB. You can have multiple phones connected, and depending on who’s the “default”, it will bring up their operating screen (Apple or android). You can swap users via the NEX software.

If the lag is fixed in updates, if possible, this would get a 5 star rating. Until then it’s a 4.

Had this done on my 2012 F-150. Best buy installed it and did a great job! Works well and it's better than I expected. Had to buy a harness, and some other components too. So beware of that. The radio itself may be $230, but the other components needed brought the total to about $500. Pictures show before and after. I use Android auto.

4 Stars. I Love my new system. It plus anything on my phone including Amazon and YouTube playlist. Makes driving better.

Sound quality is great! Pairs great with my iPhone. The screen quality is very bright. Fits perfectly in my Chrysler 200. I definitely recommend. I got this installed by the geek squad, and they were very fast & knowledgeable. I left very happy. I’m so glad I chose this car play.

Had two radios in my truck before this one, and I wish this was the first one I put it it’s amazing and would highly recommend it to anyone. Apple car play and a lot of eq adjustment and sounds amazing I love mine would definitely be during another one for my other vehicle.

Everything works amazing the only thing is on applecarplay . When i get a facetime call it on my end it sounds muffler but my friend says they can hear me perfectly cause of the mic it comes with so maybe its on my part other then that its really good

Installed this Boss BE7ACP in my 2017 Subaru Crosstrek and overall, I'm happy with it. It has a nice, intuitive GUI and the screen responds quickly. The sound is also pretty good and the unit has several preset equalizer settings allows for user settings. The main reason I wanted this was for the Android Auto and Apple Car Play. It functions quite well for this, however, I'm disappointed with the map resolution and brightness in Android Auto. In sunlight it can be difficult to see no matter how bright you make the screen settings. It also has an annoying habit of not going back to Android Auto after the back up camera has been activated. It returns you to the main menu and you have to select Android Auto again. Lame. If you have the budget for a higher end headunit, you should probably spring for it and get a better screen, but this isn't a bad buy at all.

I LOVE this system! I was a little hesitant to buy it because of some reviews, but so far I’m extremely pleased with my purchase. I did the install myself with the help of my brother. We snipped all the wires in my stock stereo which made the process so much longer, so if you this yourself I suggest just buying an adapter instead. However, if you wire it all yourself and have issues getting it to turn on with the car, I suggest wiring the “accessory” wire to the cigarette lighter.

This stereo works like a charm and I hardly notice that the screen isn’t “HD”. You have to look pretty closely to see any pixelation. The Apple CarPlay works awesome, too. I love that I can pivot and slide the screen up and down as well. It really allows you to get the screen in a comfortable position. I really feel like my car has been upgraded with this stereo. I installed this in a 2014 Jeep Patriot, btw.

Unbelievable radio for the price. If it connected with the full Apple car play via Bluetooth it would get 5 stars. It will play music without a cable.

Everything works exactly like I hoped for with the metra digital dash kit the was paired with the HU. Specifically for the 2013/14 F150 in my case. One of my favorite parts, wiring included steering wheel controls. With that being said, well worth the money.

Have this installed in a mustang and I absolutely love it. Install required a bit of customization but over all I love the unit. I have an alpine halo 9 in my truck and although that has a bigger screen, I think I may like this one a bit more. The resolution seems slightly better when viewing google maps through apple carplay. I like being able to match the button lighting to my cars ambient light color, and this is great for those that want a more flush look as the alpine has a more "modern" floating display.

Bought this about a month ago. Good features and pretty good sound. However the unit never worked reliably. Unit would beep and then shutdown and restart for no reason. No over temperature or anything. Began to be annoying. Also would loose voice command input; had to shutoff the car and restart the radio to fix the problem. Needless to say got rid of it; Best Buy sent it back to pioneer awaiting warranty replacement.

Beautiful display and responsive touchscreen. Looks great in my 2014 Ford Fusion. Allows you to upload custom wallpaper and watch videos via WebLink app. Gave it four stars instead of five because attaching the monitor to the base after installing in the dash takes a very steady hand and magnetic screwdriver to line up the screws.

This Sony receiver is pretty good for its price. Bought a vehicle that didn’t have CarPlay so I invested in this receiver and I’m pretty happy with the outcome. Pretty smooth and easy to use. Only thing I wish it had was HD Radio, but I mostly use Apple Music on CarPlay anyway.

It is not a good product, I think that a similar one that costs 300 dollars less would do the same job, a large screen if it is good, but during the day the reflection of the light does not allow you to see the screen, frequent connection problems, precuently failures, I would not recommend this product or the installation service very cost and poor quality

I was looking for a stereo unit that would give my C5 up to date technology like Apple car play and a nice interior touch. This unit didn’t disappoint! Well built with simple instructions on how to make it come to life. The screen is big but it was the look I was going for. I have gotten so many compliments on it especially with how smooth it transitions as you toggle through each option. This unit has changed my daily driving experience. Highly recommend it!

I seen a lot of mixed reviews. I did a little Research and it’s a pretty awesome deck for a cheap price. It has everything you need.I just wanted to add you may want to Inc. and additional amplifier for your speakers to give your system added sound. Which I’m sure obviously all you guys know.

I am normally a Kenwood/Alpine guy, and admittedly I hadn't previously heard about the BOSS brand before making this purchase. I was looking for wireless Android Auto and decided to give this unit a try, given the considerable difference in price from other brands offering the same feature.

The installation was straight-forward and relatively simple in my 2008 Tundra CrewMax. In fact, I think I spent about the same amount of time wiring the adapter harness to the head unit and the actual install. Fast forward to a completed installation, I fired up the unit and proceeded to pair the unit with my Note8, which was a breeze.

While I had no prior experience with Android Auto, I had no idea what to expect, and since I also have not used a BOSS product before, I wondered about how well it would perform. Well, over the course of my first week with the unit, I'd driven roughly 300 miles, half of which was a brief stint out of town over a weekend. The unit performed admirably throughout the entire trip. I experienced zero disconnects while playing music (using the built-in Samsung Music app) and making phone calls. Google Maps was equally flawless and worked just as well as it does on my phone. However, if I can have a complaint or two, it is slow to connect wirelessly to Android Auto, which is roughly 30 seconds. The display also easily gets drowned out during the day and is hard to see with sunglasses on. But In the end, the fact that I don't ever have to take my phone out of my pocket when I drive far outweighs any of my gripes.

The unit itself has all the base features I would expect to find in a head unit. EQ, speaker balance, subwoofer xover and trim, etc. You can adjust the various input levels/trim (speech, media, usb, etc.) to get just the right balance between sources, So when Google voice assistant or Maps interrupts music playback, you don't end up jumping in your seat.

I haven't yet added an aftermarket amp, but so far the internal amp is doing a fine job driving Pioneer 6x9s in my front, and Pioneer 6.5" in the back of my cab. I was half-expecting to get muddy sound and bass, but so far the bass is detailed, even somehwhat articulate, which i was not expecting at all. And while there is plenty of bass for me, I should note that I don't listen to particularly heavy bass music and listen to mostly Rock when I drive. While I will be adding an external amp (likely a mini) just to get some extra juice, I almost feel like I don't need one. This was a surprise as I didn't no what to expect from the internal amps, particularly from a brand that I've never owned.

Overall I'm very happy with the purchase, even if for the first time in years I now have an aftermarket head-unit that doesn't have the Alpine or Kenwood moniker.

Documentation is insufficient to deal with product quirks and detailed online information doesn't exist. Irritatingly, the radio insists on always starting with the car and WiFi apps used on Android Auto such as Google Maps can't be turned off easily to avoid data overuse. On several occasions, the volume automatically went to maximum when the car was turned off (the default is for the unit to remain on for one minute after removing the car key.) These difficulties may be solvable but there's nothing that tells you how to do it. Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing purchase.

Love my new radio. I love that i dont have to connect my phone with the USB at all. No cuts or loss of connection.

Has wireless Car Play. Other than that, the screen is high gloss so driving in any high light makes it difficult to see the screen due to all the reflection. While audio plays fine, car play phone calls are always quiet. You have to max out volume to just barely hear the other person. When you get your next call you have to remember to raise the volume again because it does not retain the volume settings.

Item has some flaws it disconnects from wireless CarPlay at random times and is a little spotty. It tends to freeze every so often and won’t work till it’s turned on and off again. Other than that it works great has good features and sounds good with regular speakers.

Boots up fast, Wireless Apple CarPlay connects fast. Overall speed on the headunit is great. Touchscreen is responsive. I'm overall pleased with this given the price. BOSS seems to have improved a lot in the last several years.

EQ settings seem to reset everytime you turn it off.

This little unit surprised me, right out of the box it was a clear cut install like all others, one thing I liked was the fact that it has power outputs for the cameras (front and rear), needed to replace a broken unit wanted some CarPlay action! Get it all buttoned up and paired Bluetooth and boom!!!! It automatically saw I had an iPhone and asked to pair wireless CarPlay. No extra steps nothing but fluid magic!! Touch screen is super responsive and clear ! My install was at night and let me tell you, the image from my reverse camera came in clear!! Boot times aren’t too bad give or take 10 sec and another 5-7 to connect to Bluetooth but in a pinch, radio on reverse selected camera on, no need for full boot for that ! Tweaked the audio settings a bit, got some clean sound and hooked up my bass amp and rolled with it ! Much better sound than my last unit!

Great stereo, not a very well thought through listing. My issue is not with the unit but with best buys website. It clearly shows this as a siriusxm ready radio, even in the filters. Unknown to me, i bought it from, "the tech experts" best buy, it is not in fact siriusxm ready. Does not have that capability at all. In fact planet audio doesnt even make them to be siriusxm ready. So why is it listed this way. Idk. After 3 hiurs on the phone with best buy customer service and being given the run around in the store i picked it up at, the inly thing they can offer is a return. Too bad i paid someone to install the radio and have to pay to get it uninstalled if i want to return it. So now im stuck without sirius, in which thats what i primarily listen to. Product description is completely wrong.

Where do I start with this unit this unit built occasionally lock and freeze on me. If I went in reverse the system would start to skip constantly until I cut the vehicle off to reset it. Occasionally just riding around it would start beating very loud it may not playing music or anything again until I cut the vehicle off. Luckily the technician at Best Buy allowed me to return this and purchase a different item.

Great buy! Car play works great, backup camera, steering wheel controls and Bluetooth all work perfectly with this radio. Highly recommend if your looking for an upgrade that’s not going to break the budget.

Sound started sounding terribly scratchy. Sounded great at first within 3 months its done for.

This rating and review are related to what Best Buy provided when I purchased the product. The unit is obviously used, the box is beat up and there are wear marks at the connection between the display unit and main unit. The box still has a barcode on it showing it being in Best Buy inventory 10 months ago. This is an item that has been back ordered for months.

Easy install. Lots of features. Very large and responsive screen. Sounds awesome!

I installed this head unit in a 2005 Ford F250. This was a major update to my delight. I can now see and read the screen. Handsfree is great with Apple CarPlay integration and Apple Maps is awesome as well. I love the Sirius/XM option so I can now listen to CNBC or whatever.

For the money there is much better options out-there.

Screen resolution sucks, viewing angle sucks, picture washes out in sunlight.

Hard to adjust angle need tools to do it.

Back up camera works but picture would freeze so is appears stationary but you are still moving.

No wireless carplay or android auto.

Returned after couple of days and bought pioneer 10.1" head unit.

Yes pioneer is more expensive but 100 times better than halo 11.

If you are spending 1K on a head unit i would expect better picture quality

The stereo I bought and played for a month prior to installing never showed up. A supervisor at the store went and got me one at a different store.

This mess up cost me hours of head ache. The system of ordering and getting installed is a huge pain!

The stereo its self does not work with my phone, though at time of purchase I was told it would. So the reason I bought this was wrong.

i feel i made a major mistake selecting this unit (INE-W977HD). i selected the best car stereo in the display; well the most expensive one ($1299.99). i assumed it was the latest & greatest. it has 7inch touch screen, built in GPS ,& ability to add a backup camera. it takes a few seconds for reverse cam to display on the screen, you have to wait again for the red,yellow,green lines to be drawn on the screen. maybe 1 out of 5 calls has a issue (most common, you can hear them, but they cant hear you. majority of settings are disabled when the car is not in park AND the park brake is engaged.you have to have the car in park. then engage park brake, release the park brake, then engage the park brake a second time. NOW the 'setting's icon is no longer greyed out. i understand driving while distracted is serious issue. but if you press the GPS button while driving you have to read and accept a full paragraph of terms while driving at any speed. this stereo came out in 2017. i wish i did my homework before this purchase

Had the Pioneer 8400 navigation radio system. Had wireless Apple Car Play. Liked the wireless Car Play since I use the navigation for work. Started acting up, navigation going out, so forth. So I exchanged it for this Alpine unit. I heard good things about Alpine from other people. This unit was $300.00 more than the Pioneer. Alpine stated Innovation. After they put it in, found out that it wasn't wireless had to plug in using the only USB cable that came with the unit. (Pioneer has 2). Have an older style ipod that I plug into the 2nd USB so I can play ipod through steering wheel controls. Can't do that with this unit. Just has the AUX. speaker jack that only plays when you put radio in AUX mode and have to setup manually on ipod every time. The Navigation is fair. Has multiple trip function that is a plus, but couldn't get it to work properly. Ended up going back to the Pioneer. Figured I might have just had a faulty unit last time. Alpine states innovation, HA. Not with this unit. Save your money!!! Seems that the 8400 is the only Navigation unit that I found for the price That comes with wireless Apple Car Play.

Unit seems to work well and the installation looks clean and blends with the dashboard. Unit however could use an update for the GPS system and can't get rid of the construction and gas station icons even though the unit shows that they are turned off.
