Great product. I will install. Delivery was set up 2 to 6 pm window for a specific availability reason. It was unknowingly delivered early at 1:29pm and left on our rental property front door stoop with two other parts. Not a smart decision but it ended well. I was left a text message regarding early delivery but couldn’t make it across town with short notice. Attempts to contact delivery person were met with ‘mail box not set up’ message. Oh well.

    Great dishwasher

This is a great dishwasher I installed it myself and it did take me a little while to set it up right... once that was done it's a bit confusing not your typical push button and let it run style... read directions and after 2 cycles my family and i got it down... little red dot displays on floor when it's in use and flashing red dot when interrupted no dot means it's done or hasn't started.... i found the app to be helpful.. and btw this is very quite.

    Best dishwasher I've owned.

I heard Bosch is the best. Family members have one and are very pleased.

So far i have seen many support and information resources to make the most of ownership.

I'm very pleased with the dishwasher performance so far and i can't even hear it operating.

My last dishwasher began to rust. This one is stainless steel and largely plastic so i won't have that problem.

Also the interior adjustments offer lots of cleaning versatility.

    Amazingly quiet

This is by far the most quiet dishwasher I’ve ever had. The sanitizing option is terrific and with it the plastic ware gets very dry. I could not be happier with my purchase. I also like the kick plate at the bottom that’s stainless steel. Looks very nice

    Worth every penny

Our kitchen is part of an open floor plan with our living room which is where we watch TV. We needed a quiet dishwasher and this one fits the bill. It’s so quiet that sometimes have to look at it to see if its on! Excellent dishwasher on top of being one of, if not the, most quiet in the industry.

    Outstanding Performance

Did quite a bit of research before deciding on a Bosch dishwasher and all reviews pointed to the quality. They were all correct. I used to rinse all my dishes before and now they go straight from the table to the dishwasher and come out perfect every time.

The "softwater" feature seems to make a significant difference on glassware and such as we have extremely hard water where we live and, even with a rinse agent, glasses had some spotting but no longer.

I viewed an online installation video and decided to attempt installation on my own and that turned out to be easier than I thought. Just make sure to get a "dishwasher installation kit" and you will have everything you need.

This unit is a bit pricey but if performance is what you are looking for, it's hard to beat this Bosch unit!

Great quality... but long delivery time

We finally got the dishwasher, delivery time was almost a month. Our area stores didn't have any in stock so it had to come from a warehouse. So be aware if you have an urgent need for a new dishwasher.

The dishwasher itself is very quiet and it feels well built. So far the dishes have all been perfect when the cycle ends, even with basic detergent (using unscented powder detergent).

Having the special salt container for water softening really helps in our area with hard water, no film or spots left on glasses or cutlery. And you can buy the salt for very cheap online.

My only complaint, though very minor, is that the "auto" cycle can take quite a while from start to end, usually at least 2 hours. To be fair, there is a specific "fast 60min" cycle too, but I assumed the "auto" cycle would be on the shorter side too, it isn't. But hey, I'd rather wait a bit more and have clean dishes than fast cycles which require re-washing half of the load (like our older dishwasher).

One thing our installation tech told us is that the drying requires rinse aid to work well, since it uses a steam system rather than the heating element found in most machines, and the system requires the rinse aid for the water to "fall off" the dishes. It's a bit counterintuitive to use steam to dry dishes, but that's why the rinse aid is critical to getting good results. From what I understand, having the all-in-one balls is not enough, you need the actual liquid that goes in the machine itself. (which we use)

    A significant improvement

We bought this to replace a Frigidaire purchased about 3 1/2 years ago. With the Frigidaire we had several problems including residue, especially on plastic and silicone, undissolved detergent, and finally an electronic issue in which the pump would come on unless the door was open. I did a lot of internet research on different models and chose this model because Bosch dishwashers have a better water heating system (not an exposed coil like most), this model has a water softener (we have moderately hard water), and there is an on/off switch (unlike the Frigidaire). It was installed by a pleasant Geek Squad guy. We have had it for less than a month, but so far it is great. I mostly use the “automatic” cycle. It cleans things we used to have to soak without soaking. It leaves almost no residue on plastics and they actually look shiny. I love the third upper rack for utensils and small items. It is very quiet and I like the red indicator light that shows it is running. The middle rack is easy to raise and lower and I have found this very usefull when I need to wash mixer and food processor bowls, which are tall. I do a lot of cooking and baking a need to run the dishwasher every day, sometimes twice. It is great to know the dishes will be thoroughly cleaned. Very glad we made this purchase. One thing to be aware of: this model is a special order through the website and takes longer to get.

    Worth The Wait

I have waited over 10 years to buy a dishwasher, yes 10 years. My old one broke and I just couldn’t find what I wanted. The main thing was the water softener because I always would get spots...not anymore.

So incredibly quiet and 2 opinions for putting in silverware 3rd drawer or basket and the basket removes if you need more room on the bottom rack.

Installation can be done by hard wire or plug (it’s located at the bottom of dishwasher)

Love it, Love it, Love it!

    Best Dishwasher I’ve ever owned!

I researched this purchase via online reviews and friends recommendations. Bosch came out on top for sanitizing and quietness, both important aspects for a dishwasher! I couldn’t be happier with our purchase. The third/ top rack is great for larger utensils and knives and there’s still plenty of room for glasses on the second rack. Overall a great product!

    The best dishwasher we’ve had!

We love our new dishwasher thanks to Best Buy! We had originally ordered a similar model directly through Bosch 5 months ago only to find out the model was discounted after waiting for 3 months! We cancelled and ordered from Home Depot to also be disappointed by them when they informed us that our delivery would be delayed by 3 more weeks. Thank goodness Best Buy had this one available! It is so quiet and cleans our dishes so well with so many options. It also dries all of our dishes including our plastic containers surprisingly well using CrystalDry without the use of heat. The third rack for utensils is also very nice! We are very happy with this dishwasher and hope it lasts much longer than our short lived Maytag and Whirlpool ones we’ve had in the last 10 years.

    Best dishwasher!

It was so worth waiting for the Bosch 800 series dishwasher to be in stock. This dishwasher does it's job of cleaning very well and the glassware and dishes are completely dry and spot free. A great feature is that this dishwasher is really quiet; you can't hear it running even when you are standing right in front of it. A pleasant surprise was how useful the third rack is for large utensils, flatware and ramekins. I'm so happy with this purchase!

    Absolutely BEST Dishwasher EVER!!

I did a lot of research before I finally settled on this Bosch 800 series dishwasher. When I finally decided to purchase it, I went EVERYWHERE to find it, and no one had it in stock in February 2021. I was told it was due to the pandemic, and there was a 3-4 month waiting period.

I was disappointed that I had to wait...but I am so glad I did!!

This is by far, the BEST dishwasher!! It has so many wonderful features, not the least of which is how quiet it is. I can start a load at any time if the day, (not just at bedtime!), and can actually stand right next to it and carry on a conversation with my family.

The dishes come out absolutely sparkling clean, and because there is no heating element element I can put plastic ware wherever it fits without fear of it melting or warping.

So quiet! Top of the line

Yes the cycle is a little long but worth it. It's virtually silent. Everything comes out spotless and clean with no water spots. Red light is super handy as you can't hear when it's done. Only thing to watch is red light goes off before it's done drying. So give it a few after the light goes off if u want completely dry. Was happy with best buy install. worth every penny! Was deciding between this and Samsung and glad I went with the Bosch. Only thing I dislike is it's not fingerprint resistant. So I have to windex evey cpl days. I don't mind though, it's worth it for a great dishwasher.

    So Quiet!

So much quieter than our previous dishwasher. Dries well for us, a bit of water left over on the tops of coffee cups (upside down), but that’s about it. Amazing cleaning power and can tell that the machine is built to last. Beginning to see why Bosch is a highly recommended dishwasher brand!

Love my dishwasher! It’s is so quiet sometimes I have to put my hand on the door to feel if it is running. There was a bit of a learning curve on running it. It could be me since I haven’t had a dishwasher in over 30 yrs. Loved opening the door for the first time and saw how shiny everything was.

    Best Dishwasher Ever

This is my first Bosch dishwasher and I’m completely impressed with this brand. It is so quiet that I have to look at the panel to assure myself that it is indeed running. The top rack houses those large cooking spoons, tongs etc. The middle rack height can be adjusted to 3 different positions to accommodate the loading of taller items. The bottom rack has partitions that can be folded flat to accommodate a variety of items. Dishes, pots and pans, plastic and silver wear come out clean and dry. There is nothing complicated about operating the cycles...it’s pretty straight forward and intuitive. I love the cleanliness of a stainless steel interior. What’s not to like? It’s the best dishwasher ever.

    Great machine and experience

Our 5-year old Maytag stopped working because of an electronic issue that could not be repaired even after replacing two electronic components. The Maytag bit the bullet. We shopped around for a Bosch, but no one had the 300 or 500 series models in stock due to the pandemic; the 800 series model was our only choice. Best Buy delivered it in 3 days, installed it, and took away the old one. If it took 45 min from start to finish, it took a long time. We are happy with the buying and installation experiences and performance.

    Great Dishwasher

This dishwasher is fantastic. It is replacing our first Bosch dishwasher and it works as good as I expected. We had our previous one for 20 years and it was only getting loud when we first started it otherwise it still worked great. I fully expect this one to be just as great. Bosch products are typically expensive but worth every penny when you compare to the other brands. All our kitchen appliances are Bosch !!

Great despite not being the one we originally orde

Sales and installers were great. Terrible stock we always wait and wait for deliveries. We gave up on cook top and ordered it elsewhere. This time the unit we ordered when it arrived leaked and flooded the kitchen! There were none to be found to replace it. Instead we got a similar model. Not what we wanted you need to stock your inventory

dishwasher working great. Installers were quick and did a great job. Paul Ellis from Best Buy Pasadena was very helpful. Came to my home to make sure the new dishwasher would fit in the same space as the old one. A Real Great job from start to finish. Would recommend them to others.

    Researched and researched before purchase

I'm one of those that does my research on any major purchase, especially mechanical one's. Well, let me save you the research, this is amazing!! It exceeded my expectations in every way. I know the biggest complaint is the fact that since it doesn't have an actual heating element it doesn't leave plastic items super dry! NOT the case if you use the correct rinse agent. When I first got it I used Finish that came with it. It was alright, but honestly not so great. I was still okay with it because my heating element dishwasher left plastic items wet at times as well. The trade off for a fabulous dishwasher that you can put plastic on the bottom rack to me was worth it. BUT ALAS I found the new Finish Jet Dry Ultra Rinse Aid | Dishwasher Rinsing and Drying Agent – with Etch Protector!! It is magic, everything comes out sparkling, spotless bone dry! So with that overall only complaint about this taken care of, you will love it.

Also I do prefer the controls on the front. Sorry just because it is the "Thing" you can't see them, I would rather see how much time I have left etc at a glance, and not have to go open the door stop the process. Just my liking, but I love it all!

So much quieter than our previous dishwasher. Dries well for us, a bit of water left over on the tops of coffee cups (upside down), but that’s about it. Amazing cleaning power and can tell that the machine is built to last. Beginning to see why Bosch is a highly recommended dishwasher brand!

It could be me since I haven’t had a dishwasher in over 30 yrs. Loved opening the door for the first time and saw how shiny everything was.

I Finally Feel Like an Adult

I LOVE this dishwasher. My whole life I have only ever had dishwashers that are broken or too old to wash anything without scrubbing first (which basically defeats the purpose of having a dishwasher.) I decided to test this one after we installed it by shoving a ton of dishes inside that had been sitting out longer than I will admit to in public, without rinsing or scrubbing them... and they came out SPOTLESS. My life has been revolutionized by a dishwasher and that is a clear indicator that I peaked in life a long time ago. Worth it.

    Love this dishwasher

Had a little over a month so far. Installers were great and efficient. I replaced a 15 yr old lemon. Read alot of reviews on this one and decided to buy. Best buy order process was awesome! Had installed by the weekend. This dishwasher is very quiet, cleans everything perfectly, even baked on pots/pans come out sparkling clean. And the crystal dry technology is fantastic. No wet dishes, simply put away! My only complaint is it doesn't put my dishes away in the cupboards for me after it cleans them (Just kidding!). Love this product so happy with my purchase and best buy.

    Bosch - 800 Series SHPM78Z54N

The reason I'm giving this dishwasher a 4 out of 5 is because despite replacing a dishwasher with "existing reusable hardware" we still had to purchase an elbow to connect the hot water and a rubber adapter to connect to the garbage disposal as the one provided was too small (see pics). The finish jet dry/drying agent helps but, I think my old dishwasher did a better job drying. Otherwise, it's extremely quiet the dishes come out very clean and the large red dot on the floor to let you know it's on is helpful.

There are additional accessories ( SMZ5000, SMZ4000UC ) (SMZSH002UC - should have came with it...) you can purchase directly from the Bosch homepage.

    Depressing installation process.

Im rating this a 1 star not due to the dishwasher being bad, the dishwasher is amazing. The fact Best Buy chooses to send out the installation team they do is ridiculous. The installation got canceled 3 times without notice after I took off work. I work 24 hour shifts and that's a lot of money to miss out on for someone who is not showing up and didn't even notify us they weren't. When the dishwasher installation crew finally did show up they were rude, they didn't wear a mask the entire time, they were incompetent with the installation and straight up insulted my home and kitchen set up. Multiple times the installer stated that my home was "wack" and that the set up was all wrong. My wife had to point out easy ways to overcome "obstacles" for eas of installing a dishwasher in a spot that already housed the same size dishwasher. At one point one installer entered my home with a partially lit cigarette and found that to be no issue at all. I have 2 toddlers in my home and its smoke free. I purchased the dishwasher online and have been trying to get this resolved through the customer service but we always either get transfered without notice or hung up on. I don't understand why buying a dishwasher that is this expensive was so difficult to get installed in my home. Also to top it off the instal team caused a leak that had water running all the way to my basement. That issue is finally being processed but outside of Best Buy. Highly disappointed in this process.

    Family of 7 Review

We’ve run about 120 loads in two months, so I feel reasonable writing a review.

Replaced our 10 year old Bosch that started to make our dishes smell, despite cleaning the filter religiously and running empty loads to clean the basin. No smell in the new dishwasher.

Even with the 3rd row, All our dishes fit great, including large pots, bowls and 9x13 pans. We do not have wine glasses, can’t speak to that. Sometimes when extra room is needed, I remove the utensil cage on the bottom rack (using top rack for silverware) and it provides a ton of extra space. I actually rarely use the bottom rack utensil cage.

It takes longer to load the 3rd rack with silverware (than traditional baskets at the bottom) but I like that my crawling infant can no longer reach the utensils at all while I’m loading/unloading (you know what I’m talking about if you have kids). Plus, it’s nice not to have to bend over to load/unload the utensils, and I bet they come out cleaner.

Everything comes out clean, and our glasses look as clean as they smell.

Drying works great. Never had a problem with wet plastic dishes beyond places where water naturally settles (like the underside of mixing bowls with a raised base). Sipping cups and plastic kiddie cups are dry and ready to be stacked in each other in the cupboard. I do use Jet Dry, though.

Front of dishwasher shows ALL fingerprints, but ours is on an island facing the stove, so it isn’t a concern for us (image shows fingerprinted dishwasher- not terrible, but not great).

With the emphasis on how quiet this is (and it is quiet), I thought it would be even quieter than our 10 year old Bosch. It’s the same. They are both significantly quieter than the Kitchenaid we had before that.

Our previous setup was for a wired dishwasher (not a plug in). Installer said this dishwasher came with a plug, but also included what was needed to convert to a direct wired unit- in case that helps anyone.

The Sweet Spot of Bosch Dishwashers!

The sweet spot of Bosch dishwashers.

At least once a week one of us stops while we are unloading this thing and we say that we didn't think we'd ever actually like a dishwasher. The top drawer (for utensils, etc.) is fantastic. We thought it might be a waste of time but it turns out that we can fit all of our utensils in it and we don't need the utensils basket at all. The organized approach to that utensil drawer makes unloading super-fast. The 500 series includes the utensil drawer that can be adjusted to fit things like finger bowels, spatulas, etc. The 300 model doesn't have the same drawer. This is one of the useful upgrades that I think makes the 500 worthwhile. [Photo is of the drawer, as if you pulled it out of the machine and looked down at it.]

The 500 also hits the sweet spot in terms of drying. When the door pops open, it just needs 90 seconds to release bunches of the humidity in the unit. We generally leave the door open until we unload the washer, but we sometimes close it (when we're actively using the kitchen at the time). Either way, we've never had a problem with wet dishes and there's never been an odor.

We were used to pre-rinsing the bejeezus out of our dishes and this thing will have none of that. It's super-quiet (I have a 45 db hearing loss and often don't hear it running - the red light that it beams on the floor is a perfect way to know it's running.) Emptying filters requires no special tools, which is great.

We keep waiting for this machine to disappoint us, but it ain't happening. It makes sense that we had to wait for this model - it's a great balance between the various Bosch models. We didn't want/need the drying process of the 800 series, but the 500 offers an eco-thoughtful approach to improve drying.

    So far so good

One month in. Super quiet. LOVE the 3rd rack. Racks all seem strong and slide well. No bad smell as referenced by others (mostly for 300 models) but we always do the airdry option.

Plenty of room if you pay attention to how you load the dishwasher and with the gargantuan silverware basket removed. We use the 3rd rack for silverware. Depending on how tall your glasses are, you can adjust the 3rd rack down for bigger ladles, etc. same for the 2nd rack depending on the size of your plates.

My only complaints would be the drying and run time. SO thankful I chose the model with Auto Air. First time I ran it I chose normal with Auto Air. The racks and interior were still wet. Might have been better had I not checked it right after the door popped open. Now I run normal+sanitize+airdry. Problem solved; but, the run time is ridiculous. Wish the EPA hadn’t done away with heated drying.

So buy the 500 over the 300 for the air dry. Skip the 800 or higher. I can’t imagine the difference in quietness could be so profound to warrant $200-$600 more.

    Wish I’d Bought it Sooner

So quiet that we doubt it’s on half the time. Leaves dishes very clean, which is most important.

Only negative (and it might reflect my lack of research rather than the product) is that the ‘auto air’ dry feature has to be set each time you turn it on.

Very happy. Wish I’d upgraded earlier.

    Great Product

After doing some extensive research I choose this model of the 300 series. I can not be happier with the purchase. It is really quiet and the design is sleek and modern. I do not have a problem with the drying. In fact I was a little hesitant but so far it has dried all of my dishes well. I use auto, sanitize, and open air. The open air feature must help the dishes dry well because I have run across that problem. It also has plenty of space.

    Love This Dishwasher!

I had a Bosch for 20 1/2 years before I needed to replace it so of course when I saw that the Bosch 300 was best overall I didn’t hesitate to get it. It’s even better than my old Bosch because of improvements and also the 3rd top rack that I personally really like for big utensils. I am able to get more dishes in this one too. My only issue is what others have said about some water left in it. The dishes are still sparkling clean. I just use the extra dry and it helps a lot. Because of how much I like how well setup this is and how well it cleans, I can overlook that with no problem.

quiet, works well, wait b4 opening for best dry

Very happy with this dishwasher. I checked Consumer Reports and read lots of reviews. This seemed to be a mid-range model that met my major requirements: quiet & cleans well. The more expensive ones are supposed to be even quieter, which seems pointless because most of the time you wouldn't know it's running if not for the light it shines on the floor to tell you. Now and then it makes a sound you can hear, but not loudly. I can be in the kitchen happily having a conversation while it's running.

The next more expensive models also had a "delicate" mode which I felt no need for - there were really few differences. I chose the "scoop" handle because I didn't want it to stick out like the towel-rack style handle (though for some that is useful). The recessed handle would also avoid sticking out from the edge of the counter. The scoop handle also makes you open it from the center -- the installer told me that other models make it easy to grab/open near the sides and that can damage the door if you're not careful and skew it - the door does have a little bit of flex to it.

We've run it a number of times now and it cleans well. I use the "regular" cycle (which appears to use fewer resources than "auto") with no extra features like extra dry or sanitize for extra hot. Your results may depend on the details of your usage, but the reviews were good and our results have been good as well. We only run it every few days, so counter to the manual which says don't bother to rinse, I do give dishes a quick rinse before they get dry and crusty. The CR test put them in fully dirty and then left them for a day to dry out and get really crusty before running it, and they said it still cleaned well. I haven't tried that but I'll take their word for it.

I was wary of the drying, as a few reviewers complained about it, and it has no heater/drying element (it does heat the water very hot). Based on CR I went for it anyway. What I found is that if I open it immediately after it's done, it's still hot and steamy inside and some items are still wet, and I've just let a lot of the heat out. So I give it at least an hour after it's done before opening it to put things away. That's worked fine. I haven't tried "extra dry" but that might reduce the wait time - not important to me. I also haven't experimented with shorter times so I don't know the minimum. When I open it there's still some water on the sides of the tub, and if any bowls or glasses have concave bottoms then they'll hold some water, so you need to watch for that. I load our bowls at an angle so they cannot hold water in their concave bottoms - it runs off. The manual advises unloading the bottom rack first, which is good for avoiding any bits of water dripping down from the top to the dry & still-loaded lower rack. Bottom line, a little attention is needed here: don't unload immediately and unload from the bottom up. With that MO I've had no problem at all.

A few other things of note: (1) it has no grinder and there's a filter you need to manually remove and rinse out once and a while, not often for me but maybe every couple of months if you put a ton of gunked up dishes in it. (2) It uses a "rinsing agent" to improve drying, which was new to me. They strongly advise against skipping this. I filled it with the sample provided, and I've already changed the setting to reduce the amount used with no negative effect. Because I'm a little mistrustful of chemicals & such I'm buying an eco rinsing agent for when it needs to be refilled, still on a minimum-use setting. (3) I was intrigued by the extra top rack -- a shallow rack for loading flatware. It works well and I've found it much easier to load and unload (and faster to unload) so I'm happy about that.

After picking a model I liked I comparison shopped on-line, and Best Buy had it on sale plus both free delivery *and* free installation. I think January was a good month to buy this! I paid another $30 for an "install kit" and $20 to haul away my old dishwasher, all good. The installers were fine and overall it was a good experience with a good result.

Summary: quiet, cleans well, but wait a bit before opening to let it finish drying

    Great Machine and SOOOOO Quiet!!

Very nice! If you're looking for a great looking, super-quiet dishwasher, this is the one. This washer replaced a 15 year old Whirlpool that I had quite a few problems with over the years. Replaced two main boards on it as well as the heating element. Luckily, I'm a big DYI-er, so I was able to replace them myself saving tons of $ for labor. First off, I must say, Bosch has AMAZING customer service. After ordering this dishwasher, I received two separate calls from Bosch letting me know the details on how/when my new dishwasher will be delivered and installed. Very kind. Comforting to know in the event I need to contact them in the future. Second, the installation co. was courteous, professional, reliable and efficient. The first thing I noticed after running the dishwasher for the first time was that it's SUPER quiet! After pressing the START button, I literally could not hear the water filling into the tank. Very strange at first. I actually pressed the Stop button, and then started it again to make sure it was actually running. WOW! After the load finished, I was quite pleased with the cleaning results. So far, we've done about 4 full loads using Finish brand Quantum packs. The dishes come out clean and smelling fresh each time. I've noticed (like my old washer) that it's best to use the Extra Dry setting if you want glasses and plastic storage containers to come out more dry after the cycle is done. -- which I'm fine with. The drawers have a good amount of room for dishes, and I love how the height of the top rack can be adjusted up/down a few inches to compensate for taller glasses. It also has a slim rack above that which is great for flat items like additional silverware or larger cooking spoons. The buttons are "push-button" style, which I prefer much more over the "touch" display type. Initially, I was thinking that the timer indicator was showing long washing times (2+ hours), but recently discovered that the timer includes the drying time as well, so the actual wash time is only about 1.5 hours - if that. I'm very happy so far. Functionality, operation, ease of use, etc. Another big plus is that it looks absolutely beautiful in our kitchen. Very nice "flush-mount" design and the stainless finish looks durable and sleek. Give this one a try. It would be hard to say anything negative about it. After all, it is a "Bosch." From what I hear, they are the best in the biz when it comes to dishwashers. Looking forward to having this one for many years to come

TLDR: clean dishes, no smell, quiet, flimsy door/b

We bought this about a year ago. It cleans dishes perfectly. Even corningwear pans with dried, baked on sauces come out perfectly clean. I can count on one hand the number of times I've had to redo a dish (which was usually due to user error). We use 7th Gen detergent. The third rack is great for serving spoons, lids, etc. It is quiet enough not to be a disturbance in our continuous kitchen/living room area. You can hear it, but it's minimal.

Cons are the door feels flimsy and cheap, but this does not affect function. The buttons/settings are also flimsy, cheap feeling, and finicky. It can be confusing at first on whether it is on or not and on how to reset the settings. But I set it to "auto" 99% of the time so it's not a big deal once you're used to how the settings work. But the door and buttons make this feel not at all premium considering the price.

It has remained perfectly clean and smell free with weekly cycles on normal/sanitize with Oh Yuk brand dishwasher cleaner. The filter is easy to remove and clean. The stainless steal is difficult to maintain, but that is what we get when we buy stainless with 3 kids under 5 in the house.

We have had no mechanical problems.

Overall highly recommend. Best buy protection plan is also recommended. We haven't needed it with this purchase, but I've always found them quick, responsive, and they will replace items without much fuss. Dealing with Lowes with our last dishwasher was a nightmare.

Omg. It’s soooo quiet!! The faucet that’s next to it is louder that the dishwasher! My baby will never wake up from the noise of this dishwasher. He’ll wake up if I snore from the next room, but never from this dishwasher!

so far, dishwasher has performed as advertised

Product is fine, installation was very difficult because advertising, literature, or salesperson did not inform us that the height of the opening had to be taller than our existing dishwasher. Installer could only go so far with his effort and I, as the homeowner, had to alter the height of the opening and complete installation. If I did not have the experience and skill to do this, the installation would have cost us much more.

Worth it.

Worth the purchase, worth the read

I would give this a 5 star except im of the opinion all appliances are created with good intentions back pretty lacking in 1 way or other. Nothing is built at 100% so im unwilling to rate it at that.

HOWEVER. I come from having fell for the beauty of a Samsung 1 year ago. 4 weeks in, parts broke and destroyed my house. Not once but 3 times during restoration. Fast forward 1 year, the dishwasher was pulled out to have 1 small part repaired the it fell apart. So it was junked and I purchased this Bosch. I've had it 1 week now and here is what I have found.

People mainly had complaints about the racks and loading. The bottom where plates go is a little awkward bit a couple spots lay down and helps alot with pots and pans. The utensil holder is deep and fits a ton. The wrack on top fits taller glasses without having to adjust it up and down and honestly loads fine. The top rack is pretty descent too and has a deeper area to one side. Crystal dry well that doesn't mean 100% dry but it does a heck of alot better than the Samsung air dry. The doorflies out of my hand as im closing it so ai have to hold it so it doesn't slam. I do feel like for the cost they could have some how shown you how much dry fluid is left so you know when it fill it back up.. It's a pretty expensive dishwasher and with the pandemic not a ton of options. Its been worth the money. Hopefully it holds to being a good purchase.

    Bosch dishwasher

This is our second bosch dishwasher we have owned. I gave our old one to my parents since theirs went out. They love it and said it cleans better than any dishwasher they have had and they have had a bunch. The only complaint I have is if you open door to put something in it during wash you have to hit start button where the old one once you close door it started back up on its own. This is also the quietest dishwasher I have ever heard. You can not hear it running.

the dishwasher is all it is advertised to be. The third shelf is gives room on the middle shelf. It holds small bowls, silverware and cooking spoons. I do wish I could see the progress of the washing cycle but it is on the top. It is really not a big deal because of the light at the bottom of the dishwasher. I really like the handle because it does not stick out from the front of the dishwasher.

    Quiet and good capacity

Kind of soothing when it runs, sounds like a light rain outside. For an 18 inch unit it holds a surprising amount of dishes before you need to run it. The third rack for silverware also works great, my silverware is always spotless. Only shortcoming is full size plates may be a bit too large, unless you adjust the second rack to its highest position.

Value w stainless steel tub from Bosch at Best Buy

We were looking for a good value with a stainless steel tub. This Bosch had great reviews but was more costly. We bought another brand at Home Depot then noticed Best Buy put this one on sale and it was available. Quickly got a refund at HD and bought it online. It is very quiet and cleans well. Best Buy installers were fast and well worth the cost. Removed our old unit installed the new one in 30 min. Love the look and holds a lot of dishes.

can't go wrong with a Bosch

We bought this Bosch to replace our 20 yr old Bosch that was cleaning magnificently but was leaking. The new one is much quieter, delay wash is a nice option, cleans just as well as the old model, the new rack design is much better than the old one... So far so good and I'm loving my clean dishes. Only think that I don't like about it is, that the entire tub is stainless steel but the bottom.

    Perfect Dishwasher

You open the door to sparkling clean, dry dishes, and the Bosch is so quiet about it!

I love that I can put plastic items in the bottom rack. In fact, I recommend it. Bosch has the best racks for fitting everything in so it stays safe, gets clean, and drains dry. I love the long knife tray. I have washed stemware, a heavy Cuisinart pot, plastic lunch containers, and dinner dishes all at the same time with great results. I always push "on", "auto", "start"; it couldn't be easier. I also love that a light will let me know when I need to refill my rinse aid, and that you can set it to release less rinse aid if you want to. The key to dry dishes is simple, use a rinse aid and unload the bottom rack first. I enjoy the clean simple profile of the Bosch in my small galley kitchen.

    Works well, Quiet

Old DW was a noisy old thing so decided to look for those with good quiet noise ratings and read Bosch were very quiet in general. We had a KA in a previous house and found it did a great job of cleaning and drying but was not quiet enough for the new house due to proximity of kitchen to the family room and bedrooms. Our son has a Kenmore Elite at the house they recently bought and it is very quiet - so we looked at Kenmores, KAs and the Bosch. After a good deal of research, we decided on this model for several reasons - the sloped silverware tray aids in washing and drying, the height adjustable middle tray is helpful for different height items, the adjustable supports in the trays help to add flexibility in supporting different types of dishes, bowls, etc, stainless liner for long life and durability, no exposed handle to stick out from face of cabinet, front facing control panel allows for seeing progress at a glance, large removable utensil bin and it was within our price limit and best buy offered free delivery within 3 days. Honestly, Kenmore and KA both have very comparable machines. Lowes has the same basic model at same price but theirs is a specially modified version that takes swaps out the 60 min cycle with a 30 min cycle. Frankly, we did not feel a 30 min cycle would be useful where this one with 60 min cycle seems much more realistically useful for small loads. Only thing I needed for installation was the water inlet fitting and a section of flexible supply line. The old drain and power cord were re-usable. The height and level adjustments were easy, all done from the front. It fit perfectly into the old space and the under counter tabs fit pretty close to the previous. So far it has performed well. I agree with others who complained of the odor - definitely a musty odor from water used for testing before shipping and/or certain plastic parts. After several uses now, the odor seems to have dissipated. I'd say the extra dry cycle is pretty regularly used - it seems energy conservation may limt the heating power of newer machines - our old KA seemed to heat up much more. But then its not a big deal and probably safer in the long run for plastic utensils. Our old machine did ruin a plastic burger press that said it was dishwasher safe but apparently not safe from those that put out more heat. We have not tried all cycles - the 60 min and auto seem to be working fine for our needs. In general with only the two of us, we run it once a week. Since dishes tend to sit for a while, I tend to rinse them well in the sink first to avoid having stuff dry on and be difficult to wash off. Of course there are times we crank out more dishes and are less fussy about rinsing when we know we will be running it that night. In all occasions so far, it has performed well.

    Looks good, works great

Even quieter than our last Bosch which I replaced after 7.5 years but kept for use in an upstairs apartment if I can fix a water supply issue. Called a repair place, they said it would likely be $500 to fix so I got a new machine.

My only complaint is that Bosch completely changed the back end shape, and the water and power connections. I spent most of a day doing carpentry on the inside back of the cabinet so it would fit, making new holes to route the hoses, and wiring an outlet for the three-prong plug instead of the direct electrical and water connections on the front underside of the old dishwasher.

    Great Upgrade !

Wow, dishwashers have changed in 19 years :)

This Bosch is great, more storage and much quieter than our old POC !

A normal cycle takes 2 hrs and 15 minutes.... that's 75 more minutes than our old machine, but they claim it saves water and electricity - we'll take it (if true). We like the control panel on the outside with digital red lights... no guessing if the machine is running because it's soooo darn quite.

We've been running just over a month (25+ washes ?) and do not have any complaints.

Shoutout to BestBuy and their install contractor. We purchased with free delivery and free install and both companies did not disappoint. Free was free, timely delivery/install and haul away of old unit with no mess behind was a pleasure to see !!!

Thanks, we'll definitely do business again w/Best Buy !!!

    Amazingly quiet

Purchased this dishwasher to replace our loud dishwasher that came with our home (62db GE). I requested only delivery and did my own installation. I did purchase the installation kit but really didn't need anything other than a new water line which I could've bought from a hardware store. Once installed I ran a test rinse run and at first I didn't think it was powered on, that is until I heard the water draining through the air gap to the sink.

The 3rd rack utensil tray is perfect for our larger utensils and have plenty of capacity for our dishes. One thing of note, I did not receive the free junction box that was supposed to be included with the washer but ultimately didn't need it because didn't have a hardwired connection and the supplied power cable was all we needed.

    Good but outdated dishwasher design.

I previously had Kitchen Aid dishwashers which I enjoyed greatly but thought the cleaning power could be a little better so I decided to give this Bosch a try since I hear rave reviews about how much better the European cleaning cycle is. Well, its not any better from what I've used so far but drying performance is definitely better. Overall though the competitors seem to have caught up and well surpassed the Bosch while they seem to have not changed their design at all. Definitely not a bad dishwasher but I feel there are better models out there.

    Pros:

    - Exterior door fields really sturdy and nice to open/close. This is probably the best part about this dishwasher.

    - Zeolite "CrystalDry" means I don't have to worry about bottom plastic items melting. I can put plastics on any rack!

    - 40 dBA this thing IS silent and more quiet than my previous 44 dBa KitchenAid KDTM384E (another home)

    Neutral:

    - Roller rack design is VERY sticky/rough and hard to slide in and out compared to competitor glide in/outs. I noticed it in the store demo models too but was hoping it was a demo issue. Nope its exact same in my brand new one. After 3 months of usage this has loosened up a bit.

    - Stemware loading pattern is not obvious with 3rd rack installed.

    Cons:

    - "drying" I still get puddles of water on top of cups so it doesn't get it all out.

    - No interior lighting for a $1500 dishwasher.

    - This the highest end model with the new "3rd rack design" but racking layout / tines is okay but feel it can be better optimized when you have a variety of tall/medium bottles.

    - Lacks any type of bottle wash

    - Washer spray pattern is lacking. Top spray is just a little spigot with an impeller type spray, middle spray only sprays up with few holes in the bottom. Bottom spray pattern is the same as middle. All spray arms feel cheap.

    - You have to manually turn on and off the dishwasher at the start of a cycle or at the end, vs. just pressing a cycling letting it finish and closing. Otherwise it beeps at you constantly. What is this the 90s?

    - My parents has a early 2000s Bosch 300 series model and its literally the same thing, I'd expect this out of a $300-500 dishwasher not a 2020 $1500 model.

    - No "Finish light" only has a red light when it is working. Wish it was a dual light design (Red for working, White or Blue for finished cycle). There's no way to tell that its done.

    - 21st century and no WiFi, no IoT connectivity. Every other appliance in my home has WiFi, but not this. Come-on Bosch.

    Bosch 800 Series

Tp preface this review, we had to replace a dishwasher that was less than 5 years old that we purposely put a warranty on as we bought it as an open box price item and received less than stellar performance from it. The warranty allowed to replace into this much better dishwasher from which we expect superior performance that we wanted in the first place. Moral of the story: start with a Bosch.

    Disappointed!

We spent the extra money on the better model and the top rack has not open correctly since the day we got it. The top rack opens half way if we pull; However, gets stuck and falls off the track if we push it in. There was also a broken piece of plastic we found in the bottom oh the washer the day it was installed. This washer is a waste of our money! We’re completely unsatisfied with this purchase and would not recommend to anyone buying one.

    Double check the height!

I really wanted this dishwasher but unfortunately the space was too small for this one by less than an inch. My house has wood floor under my dishwasher, which shrinks the overall space available. So do yourself a favor and double check the available height before purchasing I had to return this dishwasher and get an ADA Dishwasher instead. Bosh does make ADA dishwashers so keep looking!

    Great Dishwasher

This was my second bosh. The first on was a 500 series. After that installation, a leak was discovered. I exchanged that unit for a 800 series. It took 3 months for me to get the replacement

The 40 db unit is very quiet and the running light is required.

The dishes are clean as expected and dry. The drying technology is impressive and with no heating element the plastic items will not melt on the bottom rack or if they fall into the tub. .

    Very satisfied .

    Excellent Product - So Quiet!

We previously had a nice dishwasher but had to leave it at our house when we moved. Having roughed it for a few years with a "builders' special", it finally gave up during the Covid lockdown. I immediately checked out reviews and Consumer Reports to see what was recommended, The Bosch dishwashers were ranked very high but they had not reviewed this model. I took a bit of a chance but so far, am very happy with this one.

Best Buy delivered it as promised, with the extra install kit and the part Bosch make for American, hard-wired connections. I thought I could get away with not using that but when I tried the standard plug, it did not work - likely the circuit was incomplete where I had removed the old dishwasher (hard-wired). Using the Bosch kit which Best Buy thoughtfully supplied took care of this problem.

The dishwasher is not too heavy for two people to move but would be for one. We had a dolly handy to move it from the garage, where Geek Squad delivered it but ended up not needing it as two of us (husband/wife) were able to carry it in the house once it was unpacked.

Install took some time as it was the first dishwasher I have ever tried to install myself but it went very well. Removing the old dishwasher was very easy and installing the Bosch had a few irritating moments but was mostly ok. Adjusting the height on the dishwasher feet was poor - you need a combination of a screwdriver and your strength to turn the feet clockwise or anti-clockwise. I felt this could have been made easier. Adjusting the rear feet was way better - you just turned a screw in the front that made small adjustments to the back and I wished they had that for the front.

Once installed, you can set the dishwasher up on your Wi-Fi network. You don't have to but it would defeat the object of buying this model if you did not and you can get a cheaper model if you don't want this feature. I found the Wi-Fi setup a bit clumsy and I work in the I.T. sector. I did get it figured out fairly quickly though and since then, it has been robust.

The display on the front of the dishwasher is nice when a program is running as it will show you the part of the program it is on (with basic graphics), the time it expects to finish or how many hours/minutes left and a line graph of where it is in the program.

The control panel is hidden at the top of the door and lets you start a program fairly rapidly. You don't push the buttons so much as gently touch them. If you push, you can get no response but if you gently touch, you hear a corresponding beep. It takes a bit of getting used to but works fairly well.

You can start a program remotely, from the app but you still have to put a tablet or detergent in the dishwasher and press a button to permit remote start which on the control panel. I suppose this stops any false starts and would be useful if you want it ready to go but don't want it to start until you go to bed.

Having said that, there is no reason you can't run the dishwasher whenever you want. It says it is 42dba - I haven't measured it and that is likely an average of its entire cycle but I think it is super quiet at all stages! It almost makes us whisper when it is on as we are much louder than the dishwasher, even on the main wash part of the cycle. It is absolutely covered in noise reducing insulation and probably has other tricks up its sleeve as well.

The drying feature works well but is not miraculous. It does better with plastic than any other dishwasher I have tried but still leaves some puddles on the top of glasses or plastics, if there is a rim and they are not angled. It is a good effort by Bosch though and something I can live with.

The auto wash is excellent and we were very impressed with how it dealt with all kinds of stuck on foods. It seems to use the Rinse Aid correctly and everything came out of the dishwasher with a nice, clean sheen. You can adjust how much rinse aid is used in the settings either on the dishwasher or in the app settings.

The dishwasher has the other optional wash settings as well, such as sanitize, 1 hour and half load. I like the feature you can turn on that shows an estimate of how economical a specific wash and options is in terms of power and water you will use.

The Bosch 800 series dishwasher seems to be very roomy with two main racks for crockery, pots. pans and glasses and a little tray at the top that can accommodate cutlery or other specialty items. The tray can be angled on the sides to allow some deeper items and the rack below that is adjustable to three heights as well.

I find this dishwasher to a great step up from the previous one we owned and I hope it runs well for us, for many years to come. I would definitely recommend it.

    Washes well with shortcomings

This dishwasher does a good job washing dishes. Unfortunately, two of its most prominent features are substandard.

The is a smart dishwasher. It's Wi-Fi enabled and works with an app. In order for it to work, you need to enable remote access from the dishwasher. But if you do so much as open the door, remote access is disabled. In other words, to use it remotely, you need to press a button on the dishwasher each time. If somebody opens the dishwasher to put an extra fork in, and closes the door, it's no longer enabled for remote access.

Not only is remote access disabled, the dishwasher doesn't restart like other brands when the door is closed after opening it mid-cycle. So if somebody adds a fork and doesn't know to press two buttons before closing the door, not only is remote access turned off, but you need it the most because the dishwasher won't resume.

The other problem is noise. Bosch advertises it as quiet. It's incredibly noisy. Before, I had an Asko and it was incredibly quiet. Companies cheat by measuring the sound of the dishwasher while running without any dishes in it. Once you load up the dishwasher, this becomes way too loud. It's possible that the motor is measurably quieter than my old one, meaning you won't hear the motor in either one but can see the difference with a meter. In the real world, nobody cares how quiet a dishwasher is when run without dishes. This one is not well insulated.

If you want a dishwasher that does a great job, you don't mind the noise, and you don't care that the automation features are impractical, get a Bosch.

    Bosch Dishwasher

Hands down, the BEST dishwasher I have ever owned. My dishes come out sparkling clean and dry, and it is so quiet, I had to check to make sure it was running the first time I used it. Bonus: Bosch dishwashers are manufactured in the USA.

One thing of note, I did not receive the free junction box that was supposed to be included with the washer but ultimately didn't need it because didn't have a hardwired connection and the supplied power cable was all we needed.

    unbeatable value

In the category of custom panel dishwashers, there are few options available. In past years, even with Bosch appliances you started at the $1000 price point to get a panel ready machine. The competitors started at $1300. I've installed 3 of this new generation Bosch dishwashers, and while it does seem like lighter duty construction than it's predecessors and competition, I've yet to have any complaints in it's functionality. The speed 60 wash is fantastic- rinse your plates close to clean, and they are in and out in 70 mins. At an $800 price point, the price of this machine makes it easier for me to sell the custom panels at a price that keeps me out of the red, and keeps the customer happy. I put one of these in my own kitchen, and I'm very pleased. I'd prefer the blue LED glow of the service indicator as seen on the Viking and Asko units, but at the end of the day given the price point of the Bosch, it's a small thing to overlook. The functionality of the racks is acceptable. I miss the days of old, where racks on high end machines didn't wobble around- but it seems like a tall order today to find a machine with runners that don't wobble. Perhaps it is an issue of functionality? Despite the seemingly wobbly racks on this Bosch and other high end panel ready units, the cleaning performance is still excellent. At the end of the day, I think this machine is a really good buy.

The dishes come out sparkling clean, but you do need to make sure you are using rinse aid. The indicator light is a HUGE help! I love the 3rd shelf on top, which I thought was completely ridiculous and wouldn't clean my silverware and/or flat utensils well at all being all the way at the top with how dirty they are before I actually run the dishwasher. I was completely wrong. My silverware is OLD and they come out looking POLISHED! I love this dishwasher!

Leaves Water After Wash & Poor Bosch Phone Suprt

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS DISH WASHER IF YOU ARE NOT READY TO WIPE THE WATER IN THE DOOR AFTER EVERY WASH OR LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN WHICH COULD BE A TRIP HAZARD. I TRIED ALL SETTINGS IN THE DISH WASHER WITH JET DRY BUT DID NOT HELP …

2 Stars – Expected A Better Product & Customer Tech Support Service

    Main Reasons for Rating:

1 - Washer leaves behind lot of water in the door after every wash - no matter what type of liquid and jet dry I use. I tried all modes of wash…See attached picture…taken after wash cycle is completed

2 - Customer Service / Tech Support for Bosch is horrible and RUDE on phone ( NOTE - Best Buy Tech was Awesome but Product has issues) - The girl @ bosch said that all their washers have this issue and Bosch does not make heat dry dishwasher any more...strange... When asked to Bosch tech support for a better model with heat dry – they replied stating none of their washers have heat dry – She also replied rudely in a UK accent stating I just can not return because I do not like the dish washer ( of course I can but I choose not to since it’s a time consuming process to get a return / replacement done…even though Best Buy would suppor it..).

I WISH I HAD KNOWN THE ABOVE POINTS AND I WOULD OPTED FOR ANOTHER BRAND OF DISH WASHER WITH HEAT DRY AND BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE...

Except for above 2 concerns Bosch dish washer is quite and does clean the dishes well except leaves a lot of water in the door after every wash.

    44db dishwasher for 50db price.

Had to adjust to the layout of the lower rack, but I’ve been really pleased how this dishwasher works. I was really focused on getting a quiet dishwasher, and the normal wash registers 42-45db in my kitchen. This is more than half as quiet as the one it replaced which was hitting almost 60db. It’s really easy to get caught up in spec analysis. I was torn between this model and their 300 series (44db models), but I ultimately chose this model for the cost. Aside from looks and the optional 3rd rack, I couldn’t justify the $300-400+ difference in price in my mind. Glad I went this route.

Installation is easy enough, but the instructions do not identify the location of the ports. The discharge hose and clamp can be quite stubborn, so make sure it’s secure. This does not come with an adapter to connect to the standard 3/8” supply line hoses. I’m pretty handy, but I give this 4 stars for install.

    Completely Satisfied

I am completely satisfied with our Bosch SHE3AR72UC dishwasher, which we purchased and had installed a month ago. Having the display on the front, including the time when it will end, is very helpful...especially since it is so quiet. Our dishes come out clean and dry. The silverware baskets have plenty of slots to place our silverware and shorter spatulas. The top "shelf" for longer utensils is very convenient. My sister purchased this same Bosch dishwasher over a year ago and highly recommended it to me. This was an excellent purchase!

    Dishes clean and dry

A very well designed and made dishwasher. I installed it myself so I got to see how it was made and I was pretty impressed. In use, we have always used the auto wash setting with the sanitize setting and the dishes have come out spotless and dry. Of course, if you have glasses with a concave bottom. they will collect a little water and that won't dry. I have never seen a dishwasher that will dry that! Bottom line, great dishwasher at a great price. Consumer Reports gave it a great rating and I would agree.

    LOVE this!

I've had the Bosch Ascenta for a month and am really loving it. It replaced a 24 year old GE dw that was on its last legs. Initially I had some qualms about the Euro tine design -- would my dishes fit -- but I find I'm able to fit MORE dishes in than before. And they come out really, really clean! Like another reviewer noted, my mugs had tea/coffee stains but after a couple of washes in the Bosch the stains are gone! And I haven't had any problems with pulling the lower rack off the track. Maybe if you were a burly strong guy that would happen (I'm a reasonably fit woman). As for noise level, the motor is very, very quiet but you do hear the water sloshing around. I think the marketing stuff lead me to believe you wouldn't hear much at all, so at first the water noise bothered me. But then I realized it's a dw, of course there's going to be water sounds, and I got over it. When I watch TV in the next room while running the dw I no longer have to turn up the sound. So the dw is really very quiet. I'm glad I paid a bit more to get the model with fold-down tines on both top and bottom, and two fold down stemware racks (instead of one). Really adds to the versatility. I use a lot of little custard cups for things, and they fit on top of the stemware racks when folded down, which really boosts the capacity. Bowls haven't been a problem. I put them in the top rack, usually where the tines fold down, and also on the bottom. Oh, and I love the sanitize feature for my cutting boards. Finally, the cutlery caddy is fine. I've used it both with and without the 'grid' and things get clean either way. Bosch really nailed it with this dw, it's a great value IMO.

    Quiet, performs well,

We have found the washer as quiet and washes well. Concerns are that the bottom drawer is very light weight and gets off track easily (irritating.) Also the installation materials do not cover up gaps on the sides and and top well so that a washer on an outside wall lets in cold air rather than being insulated within the cabinet.

Be happier with a different dishwasher

We've been using this dishwasher for one year now. When it runs, it cleans our dishes well. Also, it hasn't required any maintenance in the past year, which is nice. However it is a frustrating and unremarkable dishwasher.

The layout of the dishwasher makes it difficult to fit our regular dishes. It sometimes feels like playing the least fun game of Tetris getting everything in there. This dishwasher often doesn't start washing when we click start and it seems to go through Rinse Aid very quickly. The soap dispenser door will sometimes get caught on dishes too if the dishes overhang the top rack the slightest bit.

I was happy with our previous Bosch dishwasher, which led me to purchase this one, but I'd be happier with a different dishwasher now.

Easy to operate, runs quiet, cleans dishes

I love this dishwasher. It is so quiet that we have to be quiet in order to hear it running. The dishes come out so clean. I wasn't sure about the no disposer. It's great with the high power wash. A friend of ours just bought one for his house too.

    Great Dishwasher! Quiet and stylish

Very happy with this dishwasher and Best Buy prices and delivery and installation. Looks great and is VERY quiet. It has a short cycle that runs just 30 minutes and is adequate for our purposes because we pre-rinse our dishes. Let me address some of the complaints I saw on other reviews. 1) Some people have said it has a bad odor. I suspect they previously had a dishwasher with a self-cleaning filter (I did) and they have not cleaned the filter. It is very easy to clean periodically and should stop any odor problem. 2) No dry cycle. True. My prior dishwasher had a dry cycle but if you are sure to keep the rinse aid filled and let the dishes remain in the dishwasher for a little while after the cycle ends most will be dry, the exception being the tops of items that are concave like some glasses or bowls. An indicator light reminds you to refill the rinse aid when it is low. 3) Low capacity. I will admit it takes a little practice to load efficiently. It will accept many dishes, but bowls are a little tricky because of the close placement of the tines, although some fold flat. My only complaint is there is no signal that the dishes are clean once the cycle has completed. It does beep but once the beep stops there is no indication as to whether the dishes inside are clean or dirty. My old dishwasher had an indicator light that stayed on until you opened the door. I read that some Bosch models have a red LED that shines on the floor but this model does not. All in all a very nice dishwasher for the Best Buy price. Recommend

    Excellent dishwasher

I bought this washer model based on the Consumer Report rating and I concur with their recommendation as the best machine in the $500-600 range. I have used it for over a week, 3 times already and my dishes , utensils, vita mix container, pots, pans and lids, etc. all came out clean & shine., and dried. I did not have to pre-scrub the dishes. I used Finish quantum detergent and its dry jet rinse aid as the manufacture suggests. I adjusted my rinse aid to level 2 as my house has hard water so that my plastic things do not show white residue of mineral on the surface.

    works well

There are still always some things ( a knife put in crowded with other items, or a serving spoon with rice stuck to it) that need a hand-finishing-touch, but overall does a good enough job. We got it on a slight sale. Was recommended by Consumer Reports. We have NOT had any problems with any odor (as I had seen in other reviews) - just have to know to remove and rinse out the filter in the bottom (it does not have a "garbage disposal" built into it.)

    Nice Bosch !

First time used, appears to be ok.. Delivery ok. Could not be installed immediately because I had a hardwire for previous dishwasher. Needed a secure outlet box. Installation kit was purchased with dishwasher but was not necessary because plug and electrical connections were packed inside dishwasher . My electrician installed the dishwasher, Best Buy / Geek Squad never phoned back for installation date.

Nice and quiet, clean and dry.

This is the first “high end” dishwasher I’ve ever bought and was little skeptical about the fitting of items with a third rack but I will say this is a really nice dishwasher. Especially since shipping is free for Bosch products so that definitely helped with my decision.

I’ll try to break this down to the 4 most important parts and one honest con that honestly isn’t that serious imo.

    Room:

It’s roomy enough to fit a number of pots and pans (strategically) on the bottom. Mason jars, coffee pot, bowls on the top and large utensils, Ramekins, silverware on the third rack. I wouldn’t recommend just throwing dishes in there Ike the beat up one we replaced so it can thoroughly cleans everything. The third rack can be removed as well for larger top items. Overall. Very spacious.

    Cleaning:

Not going to lie, this thing is a beast when it comes to cleaning, especially with the extra dry setting. Oh man, I don’t care if it takes an extra 30 minutes I’m always pressing that. I generally rise my dishes and my wife just throws them in there and combined they both still come out super clean. Just remember that placement factors or it’s just my OCD. I use the HE pods and Jet dry, I would fully recommend you follow the directions to keep the dishwasher well maintained for longevity.

    Loudness:

I forgot the DB on this but it is SUPER quiet and I enjoy the red light as a indicator that it is running. Initially I kept putting my ear to it to make sure it was it was actually running. I feel spoiled Cause our 10 year old beat up washer sounded like a Jet engine from a 757 whirling around in the house.

    Settings:

We mostly use normal with extra dry, takes about 2:35hrs which isn’t a bother for me. If your quiet and can clean the hell out of my dishes, take all the time you need. There is a 60minute setting that I’ve used with small amounts of dishes but the extra dry automatically adds 30 minutes. Settings are straightforward and the look is clean with having no buttons in front. Very seamless and clean.

    Honest Con:

My only one con is that if dishes sit in the washer for a period of time as you are adding more waiting for it to be filled it does start to grow a smell, internally though. It’s a small con but I think it’s because of interior material used. Food on dishes, etc. it’s to be expected but once a week I run the sanitize mode and it’s gone but that’s about it.

Overall I would absolutely recommend this dishwasher, especially for the free installation. We love it.

    Damaged dishwasher

We needed a black dishwasher quickly. After talking care with the install we noticed the front was damaged it look like screws from when is was manufactured it slipped through quality control.

Im hoping Best Buy will contact me about this i didn’t want to spend hours on the phone trying to talk to a human.

Excellent design/style in an affordable dishwasher

We purchased the Bosch 100 Series Dishwasher to replace an older malfunctioning dishwasher when we had a new kitchen counter installed. We don't use the dishwasher often, so we didn't want to spend a fortune, and the 100 Series was the perfect blend of value, features and style. The racks can be configured in multiple ways, and the 100 Series is quiet and efficient. In addition, Best Buy's installation crew was efficient and neat, and removed the old unit for recycling. Only caveat: starting the dishwasher wasn't totally intuitive.

    LOVE this dishwasher!

I did my homework before buying this dishwasher. I have no regrets going with the Bosch 100 series, I LOVE it!

It's so quiet, I can barely hear it.

The third drawer is amazing! I never had a third drawer before and I don't think I can live without one anymore. The adjustable second drawer is great too! There is soooo much space compared to my old dishwasher!

I used to always rinse my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. Bosch promotes not rinsing before, so I did a test and did not rinse any of my dishes and I couldn't believe it - Sparkling Clean!! My old dishwasher always left food on the dishes if I didn't rinse them well.

The only thing I recommend, use Finish Powerball detergent. I used to use Cascade detergent and I noticed a lot of water spots. Bosch recommends Finish Powerball detergent, so I made the switch and what a difference!

    Poor installation

Because of the supply chain, this Bosch 100 was one of three choices available to replace our Kitchen Aide dishwasher. I give the Bosch 4 stars because it has excellent cleaning but does not dry well. We would have spent more money to get a Bosch that dries better, but choices are limited.

While the installation was fast and the third-party installer was courteous, the next day we noticed that the installer had drilled through the back of the cabinet! If this drilling through the back was the only option, we needed to have a short discussion before the screws went through the cabinet. This is POOR. Therefore, our overall rating is 1 star.

QUITE and CLEAN...is it worth the extra detergent?

Cleans very well! We don't have to rinse before dish washing.

Very Quite! We can talk and run the dishwasher at the same time.

The notification that the Jet Dry is out is useful, never had that.

Our only complaint is the basket organization. Everything is too close. There is no place to fit Corelle Everyday cereal bowels. Tall plastic glasses have to go on the bottom. We still haven't found a way to wash dinner dishes and the pots and pans that created the dinner at the same time, causing multiple loads!

It is QUITE and it is CLEAN... is it worth the extra detergent / Jet Dry? We did not return it.

    Solid washer, very quiet!

Very quiet and does a great job cleaning. I like the top third rack for silverware but not crazy about the lost space below. I can just fit regular sized dinner plates. Also don’t like how you have to purchase a rinse aid to not have dishes covered in water spots. Never had an issue with that on any previous dishwasher I’ve owned. But overall it’s a good washer so far.

    Bosch - 800 Series 24" Top Control Built-In Dishwasher

During our kitchen remodel our old Bosch was badly damaged - so we decided to get the new version. Boy are we pleased! It's the same size, but it holds more dishes and it seems to get them cleaner than the last unit. Very impressed!

And the Bosch folks even sent someone out to look at our dishwasher when it was originally damaged - it was 8 years old and they didn't hesitate. There's no other dishwasher in my books!

    Great, with a catch

I have had the unit for two weeks. It is super quiet, cleans and dries very well (I have only washed with the Crystal Dry setting), is simple to operate, and looks great. However, I found the bottom rack difficult to load. The bi-directional setup always seems to make the loading awkward with too much wasted space. And some of the rack holders protrude up and interfere with placement of the dishes.

    Happy with my new DW

I’m very happy with my new dishwasher. It replaced a 17 year old series 800 model and I like the innovations they have introduced. My only negative is that it can be hard to open. Specifically the force required to open door due to tension of the door is significant more and you just fully open door or risk having the door slam shut.

    Great dishwasher as advertised

So far this has been a great dishwasher. We love the time projection on the floor, the the rack, the adjustable middle rack. The dishes are dryer than with our old dishwasher which had a heating element. This dishwasher is so quiet that after the install my wife asked if i was going to run it and it was already running :)

    Ok, does not dry dishes

This dishwasher has not been a great buy. It does not dry dishes well at all. Called Bosch support and they explained that it uses condensation, and I should add Jet Dry. I have added Jet Dry drying liquid agent to the drying dispenser, but that still does not help. I need to keep the door open with the ceiling fan on for at least an hour to get it dry. Also, I wish they made a model that is NOT ADA. The inside of the tub is shorter because of that, and you loose space inside. I feel I cannot load as many dishes as I did in my older 18" dishwasher that wasn't ADA. Although my older dishwasher didn't dry very well, it dried a lot better than this Bosch. Disappointed in the amount of money I spent for these 2 issues.

Super quiet top of the line dishwasher

This unit is amazing. It's replacing a Kenmore Elite that is also a 38db noise level washer.

The Bosch is whisper quiet, has a water softener, super high quality ball bearing racks and a robust build quality.

This unit is unique in that it's built in Germany and not North Carolina where the rest of Bosch's line are manufactured.

It was either this, a Miele or the top of the line GE Monogram washer and I am very happy with the Bosch. It's extremely well built (120+lbs) and looks great in my kitchen.

    Failure

This dishwasher has been nothing but trouble. It’s never worked more than 2 months. The pumps keep failing. We are on our 3rd one. I’m glad I bought an extended warranty, but unfortunately they won’t admit it’s a lemon and replace it. So we go weeks at a time with no dishwasher while waiting for repairs. When it is working, it’s a nice dishwasher, but I think there’s some kind of flaw in the filter that leads to frequent pump failures.
