    Reminiscing with my Records

This Victrola has performed well, though in my area I don't get many FM stations (it does have an antenna). My main goal was to play my old records and the many CDs that I can't use in my new car. The unit is attractive and well-made. Good value.

Now and then, you need one!

Every now and then, you find an old record to play, and you need a working record player. This did the trick, and gave better quality sound than I had with the old needle.

    A NEEDLE ON A HAYSTACK!

    It just makes sense!

This will be my second Audio- Technica stylus the first coming with the record player that I purchased during summer. I been listening to records old and new and this (needle) has stood up through playback of some of my scratched and dirty vinyl. A few of my records are scratched but I wanted to listen to them anyways because I they are music I listened to growing up. It played them perfectly fine and let me tell you it still does.. so 'it makes sense' to stick with what works! I bought this one to put away for when the stylus that came with my Audio-Technica player does go bad. It seems it very well may be a long time and if not I have this one ready to play the next hundreds and hundreds of hours of music enjoyment.

    good replacer

works immediately, I put it on and it started to work within minutes, only issue I had was when my dog keeps thinking my record player is a toy whenever I play stuff and he'll bark at it the whole time which is pretty annoying so I don't know if that's something inside the replacement or just my dog but either way just kind of annoying but would recommend this for replacing old needles, thumbs up two

Unpack. Setup. Play. It's that easy.

I've got an old record collection that I've been wanting to play again but I wasn't up on the newer turntable technology. I'm a video producer so I'm familiar with Audio Technica microphones and took a gamble on the AT LP 60XBT turntable and couldn't be happier. Set up was so easy I didn't need the instructions. I just paired it with my Bose speakers and heard the deep luscious sounds of vinyl beaming from the 50s, 60s and 70s tunes. The AT LP 60XBT has a small footprint and fits in my record cabinet well. The cushioned feet help keeps possible bumps from damaging my records. If you're researching, do look for this feature, it's worth the added price. And since they are old, some of my records are scratched and skip or get hung up in spots and all I have to do is gently press a finger on the turntable's arm to get it to continue on. (Like in the old days!) I didn't care for the look of the suitcase turntables and from reviews I noticed users didn't like them because their lids didn't fully cover the record. This is important to note because besides your records, you don't want dust to get into your turntable or needle. For the price, this is an excellent starter turntable. The only thing I wish is that it had some sort of "stop gap" mechanism to prevent the arm from operating when there isn't a record on the turntable. My grandson is fascinated with the turntable and keeps turning it on to play! When there's no record on the turntable the arm will still automatically activate when the "start" button is pressed and the needle drags across the turntable as if it's playing a record. But I don't think any turntable has this option, although some do have a latch to lock over the arm.

Everything you need to play record vinyls are provided by this turntable. Everything from support for both types of vinyls, 33RPM and 45RPM. It also doesn’t bend the disc such as the Victoria I had bought before this. It supports analog and 3.5mm output.

    Absolutely Amazing!

This record player is simply amazing for the money! I’m new to the vinyl world and im sure there’s better record players on the market, but I didn’t necessarily want to spend hundreds on a record player. The sound quality of this unit is mind blowing and functionality is smooth. This paticular model has bluetooth, so it paired up to my samsung surround system in seconds and no loss of sound quality compared to old school rca’s or 3.5mm aux. This unit does have those outputs as well if you choose to be hard wired, but the benefit of bluetooth is you can have this unit anywhere in the room as long as you have a power outlet nearby. If you’re on the fence like i was about which record player to choose, do not hesitate and pick this unit up! You won’t regret it!

Though that is a very solid player, the PQ isn't as good and the sound isn't as good either, and no DV (dolby vision). The X800 has a better build quality with more metal but that's where it stops.

After hooking up this player, I threw in Baby Driver, which the first chase scene with his red car looks and sounds reference. I've also watched The Office on blu-ray and the upscaling on this player is second to none. It upscales blu-rays and makes them really look close to 4K. Next we watched Prisoners and having seen this movie several times on blu-ray, it was easily the most detailed and crisp it has ever looked.

The network streaming is also right on track. I have the Simpsons and Seinfeld ripped to my network hard drive (don't worry I own the discs) and both look great. Now it's standard definition but the network interface is nice and works just fine.

I would recommend this to anyone willing to spend a little extra to get the best audio and picture quality for your 4K set. I have a TCL 55" that does DV and it just looks so sharp with this player. It also upscales beautifully.

    Highly recommended!!

One of the best UHD BR players

It is one of the best BR players from Panasonic but, but have some issues for example: all movies in Netflix streaming are converted to Dolby Vision and this affects the original quality of the movie. If you have a decent AV receiver and good speakers then the sound and surround is amaizing.Super UHD TV+DPUB 820k+Surround System and you don't need to go out to the theater.

Watching BR movies is also amaizing to almost 4k.

    Best 4k blu ray player

Picture is better than any 4k player I ever seen or purchased. It especially looks best on the the 4k blu-rays. But you have to play with the settings of the player for the collars to really come out. Once you get everything set up the way you like it looks excellent for reals. It's a real keeper for reals. I can not be happier for reals. Thanks for everything bestbuy.

Main Unit Fine, Remote Almost Unusable

This 4k UHD Blu-ray player is fine except for the layout of the remote control. It absolutely defies one-handed operation. The layout places the most common keys back over the middle of your hand and the thumb can not bend in that direction. The solution is to hold the remote so close to the butt end that it is uncomfortable and easy to drop. Or use two hands. To heck with that! This seems like a petty complaint, but this is flat out the most uncomfortable remote I can remember ever using. It's bad enough that I am focusing my review on it.

I imagine I will get used to holding this remote but, right now, it makes me upset.

    Picture quality is great

Well I here everybody saying good things about this player so I bought it. And my Sony x800 player stopped working after 3 years. First thing the shipping was bad my box was beat up when I got it. So I'm not sure if thats why I had problems with it. I played 7 movies in it in 3 days. 2 movies locked up and I had to start it over and the one movie locked up 2 times. Then the last movie I played in it the sound cut out half way through the movie. So I decided to return it I had enough. I had them reorder a new one for me so I will see if I will have the same problem with the next one. If so then I guess I will try the high end sony. But the Sony doesn't like my anthem the well. I'm not sure what else to go to. I will say picture quality top notch. Functionality could use a little work for a higher end play to play disk better.

Took a while but it grew on me

At first I didnt really see much difference between this and my Sony x700. I mean, both do look amazing and I recommend that one if you dont wanna spend this much on a player.

The best is that it auto switches to Dolby Vision. The x700 made you manually turn it on and off. Sometimes I couldnt find details on the disc packaging to let me know if it even had dolby vision. If it does, you wanna watch it that way. Of you dont care about DV or your tv doesnt have that feature it's no big deal to you.

The UB820 has this awesome HDR button that allows you to brighten the HDR more if youd like. It has like 4 settings. Now, you're probably thinking that's something you can just adjust on your tv. It's not. I tried to do that and mimic thos feature bit no settings are the same and if they are it's way too many different adjustments compared to one button push.

This HDR button also works on streaming 4k sites like Amazon and Netflix.

You can also change the wallpaper on your homescreen which is cool. I have a Halloween one on mine right now.

I do wish the image of the movie appeared when a disc was in. My Samsung player does that and I love it. Shows a picture or mini poster of the movie.

The bad is really just that it doesnt have many apps. It's a shame too because I think it would make this player stand out more. I use the built in apps or firestick most of the time bit then I cant use the HDR button. Also I wish it had an input to run something else thru it.

Great player and the price is a little higher than I'd normally go bit if you're ok with it you shouldn't be disappointed.

And yes, I still do use that HD-DVD player in the picture.

    Advanced Technology or Sorcery

There is this ancient thing called AM radio on this device which you can hear sounds come from. I could not find AM on the internet to stream so I am thinking that it might be sorcery producing it through the stereo. I was thinking about calling in a priest to help get rid of this strange phenomenom but I have decided I will just live with it and try to decipher the messages being sent through it.

    Hello 80’s. I’m back.

My wife bought this for me for our anniversary because I’ve been wanting Vinyl records again. Yes, I was around the first. I have a Sonos wireless speaker system I wanted to connect this to. Sonos recommends a $400 model but this one works perfect. It has a built in Pre-Amp so I can Line In connect to my Sonos Play5 and transmit it wirelessly to all my Sonos speakers. It has a slight plastic feel but the quality is great. Now my kids can play their video games while I’m rocking out to Van Halen,..cause it’s my house. My only gripe; why does it only have a quick guide and you have to go online to get a full owners manual?

    Loving this Victrola Record Player

It’s been a while since I’ve had a Record Player so my wife and I decided we wanted a new one. We love Stardew Valley so as soon and the Stardew Valley Vinyl Soundtrack became available we order it and this player. We also had a 21 Pilots Blurryface on Vinyl that someone gave to us as a gift agile ago and now we can finally listen to it. As far as sound quality goes the system gets pretty loud and fills up our garage apartment pretty good. It doesn’t have a lot of range (not a lot bass for those song that have it), overall not still pretty decent sounding speakers for an all-in-one system. You can hook this system up external speakers for a better sound quality. We have ours hooked up to our Samsung Soundbar for those times that we want the better sound but for the most part we still listen to it with built in speakers since they are still decent quality. I haven’t tried out the Tape player (I have dig those out of storage) or the CD player yet. But overall for the record player this is a great player for those that want something nice for their house or apartment. I recommend this player for those starting out and want something simple and good sounding.

    Won't play TELARC DVD-Video discs

I have some Telarc DVDs that are 2-sided, One side is DVD-AUDIO, the other side is DVD VIDEO/DVD ROM. This Panasonic model will NOT play either one. For example, TELARC-DVDA70541 Tchaikovsky 1812 Overture, The liner notes say "A DVD-Audio player is required to play the high-resolution surround and stereo programs on this disc. This disc will NOT play on a CD player. This disc also contains compatible DVD-VIDEO programs." The disc can play in dts surround and dolby digital surround. As expected, trying to play the DVD-Audio side results in the DVD displaying a message to flip the DVD over and play the DVD Video side. Done. Guess what? "Cannot read disc." Even after firmware update. The disc is not damaged, it is in pristine condition, and these aren't cheap. My old cheapie Sony played the DVD-Video side. R.I.P. If you have a collection of discs like this I suggest you keep shopping. I am forced to decide if I recommend this item. CONDITIONAL yes. NO if you have a collection of discs like mine.

My only problem is with the remote. The arrow buttons are too close to other buttons. If I’m not looking at the remote there is a good chance I may accidentally hit the wrong button. Other than that, I love this player!!

I'm very pleased with this Victrola. I've had a stack of vinyl albums in the basement for years. After back and forth with my wife about what to do with them, she decided to surprise me with this audio system for my birthday. Not only do my vinyls sound great on this, it also has FM radio, CD and cassette, although I didn't save any my old cassettes so I can't attest to that feature. I also love the dark wood look and the vintage feel. Very, very pleased with this purchase.

Features, sound, quality, value. Whats not to love

I purchased based on multiple positive reviews and was not disappointed. Plays well and sounds fantastic when hooked to my receiver. My receiver does not have a dedicated "phono" slot, so I just used the CD one instead, since I never use CD's anymore. Works fine. Put the whole setup on my desk, as shown in pictures with this review.

This is not a bluetooth version, which is fine, as I just connected directly to my receiver as shown in the photo. Be sure to have some headphones to bring out the sound correctly.

I especially like the automatic button control that is missing from the more expensive Audio Technica turntable. Just push a button to either stop or start and the unit returns the tone arm once album complete. Also has a separate button raise and lower the tone arm to stop and start as well as place anywhere on the record and lower safely.

Note that this plays 33 and 45 speed but not 78, in case you want to play very old vintage records (which I don't).

Its been years since I have listened to music with "cracks" and "scratches" inherent in old records and I love it!

Don't let the low price scare you. This is a quality machine and super easy to use. Plays well with no adjustments needed.

A great turntable for an even better price. The stepup from the ATLP60 is even better, and truly is great for the price. It’s a great record player for someone who isn’t new when it comes to records, but isn’t exactly a “veteran” either. A very good record player. This turntable sounds surprisingly good for the price. It was quite easy to set up, basically plug and play. I have a large vinyl collection, mostly LP’s I bought 40 or more years ago. This turntable has brought this old recordings back to life. After hearing only digital music for long, vinyl sounds so refreshing. What a great sound for $100.

Sony Adds BT Tech - Updated Stereo Turntable

To begin with, I have an extensive collection of vinyls dating from the early 60's to the present. I am an avid music lover, and, consider myself an audiophile since I was always fascinated with sound reproduction, amplification, and sound equipment. I started building stereo systems for friends and family back in the late 50's. Collecting records was a culture for me back then, and still is. I go through my record collection often, and, play records at least three or four times a week. Vinyl, analogue records capture full and complete sound waves. There is nothing better then to enjoy outstanding audio from analogue recordings as they were meant to be enjoyed. I prefer the dynamic audio quality of my vinyls over any of my sound-modified, digital CDs. I have a high-end, 'old-school', and costly turntable. But it has no pre-amp, nor does it have Bluetooth technology, or a USB port, for digital conversion of my vinyls using my computer with the appropriate software. So, when I had an opportunity to review the Sony Stereo Bluetooth Turntable – PSLX310BT in exchange for a comprehensive review, I was excited to see what technology could offer me in this updated turntable.

These are the features of this Sony Stereo Bluetooth Turntable, which strike me as the most outstanding:

** Design & Build – Overall this Sony BT turntable is designed for simplicity as an 'entry-level', bargain-priced, record player. The cabinet is made of sturdy plastic in a flat, black, matte finish. It is an attractive looking unit and fits into my home entertainment unit quite nicely. There are four cushioned, round feet on the bottom of the record player, which are designed to absorb shock and prevent vibrations from degrading the playback. This Sony turntable features a hinged, removable, clear plastic dust cover. It is thick enough to provide protection against unwanted sound vibrations from nearby speakers, and dust and debris. The total weight of this unit is under eight pounds because of the lightweight plastic cabinet and aluminum, metal turntable and tonearm. I was impressed by the belt-driven, aluminum, die-cast and balanced platter. It also comes with a foam cushion, 'slip-mat' to keep my vinyl records stable as they are playing. This Sony unit is single-record-play only. However, it will play either 33 1/3 LPs or 45s. The 45 adapter is stored in its slot on the right side of the player cabinet housing. This turntable has a highly sensitive, newly designed 'straight', aluminum tonearm. It is very different from the standard 'J' styled tonearms of the past, which consisted of counter weights to balance them. This aluminum tonearm is programmed to find the beginning grooves of my records and automatically returns back to the tonearm-rest at the end, ready for the next 'Start'. If you are new to vinyl records, or, just want a Bluetooth updated turntable, this is the ideal unit for you.

** Controls – The unit has a Power/ON/Standby Button on the back of the unit to turn the turntable ON/OFF. Topside, on the main deck, are three user, selection knobs. These knobs allow me to choose the size of record (7” for 45s) and (12” for 33 1/3 LPs), speed (33 1/3 & 45 rpm), and for Bluetooth pairing. At the right-front of the unit are three push, selection buttons, 'Start', 'Stop', and 'Up/Down' (for tonearm re-positioning). Pressing the Start Button initiates the auto-play and the tonearm and stylus will play whatever size record I have selected. The Stop Button will halt the record playback and return the tonearm back to its rest. The Up/Down button allows me to pause the playback, and, or re-position the tonearm to a different part of the record by hand. Pressing the Up/Down Button after the playback is paused or re-positioned will automatically lower the tonearm to continue play. On the back of the deck are selection switches for output selection and 'Gain' selection. The 'Gain' Selection gives me three options, Low (-4 dB), Mid (0 dB), and High (+6 dB), to match the overall volume of the record I am playing. When the Output Switch is set to 'LINE' the turntable's audio signal passes through the built-in phono pre-amp. I set this switch to 'LINE' when I am using the BT connection. The Output Switch also provides for phono (out) selection, which bypasses the built-in pre-amp. It allows me to connect the phono (in) on my amp receiver using the provided RCA audio cables. The RCA audio cable is only 52 inches long and I needed approximately eight feet of cable to connect to my amp-receiver. Also, I wanted the audio cables concealed. So, I purchased a pair of RCA Plug Couplers and a longer audio cable at my local Best Buy to get it done. These user-friendly controls are explained in detail with illustrations in the 'Operating Instructions' included with the Sony turntable.

** Bluetooth Pairing – This feature was fascinating to me because I have several quality BT speakers, but, was never able to use them playing my vinyls. I went from my turntable to my amp-receiver using RCA audio cables and that was my only connection. This Sony turntable has a built-in phono pre-amp. So now, I can take advantage of my weatherproof speakers with BT technology and enjoy my vinyls while listening outdoors near my pool and hot tub. WooHoo! I can also pair this turntable to my sound bar or headphones without having to use RCA audio cables. Pairing is very easy. The Bluetooth Pairing Button will flash blue when depressed. When it pairs successfully the blue light will remain constantly ON. If I disconnect a paired device the indicator light will turn orange, and, go into standby mode until reconnected to a BT device. This turntable can pair up to eight different devices and remember that information as it registers them, so you don't have to pair them again. But only one device can pair at a time for playback. This Sony uses the following codecs, aptX and SBC. I found that my BT speakers also support the same codecs. Having the aptX codec brings the music alive with near CD quality over BT. WoW! What I also love about using my BT speakers is they have a mobile App for my Smart Phone. The App allows me to control the volume of the speakers, choose pre-set EQs, and, or, user-adjustable EQ settings. How cool is that? I do all of that with my amp-receiver too, however I have to connect the turntable using RCA audio cables and switch from 'Line' to 'Phono'.

** USB Port – On the back of the deck is a USB, type 'B' port for connection to a computer for conversion of the analogue sound tracks to digital through the appropriate kind of recording software. This is a 'must' for me in the coming weeks as some of my records are now over 62 years old. I have approximately 400 all together. I am going to evaluate the existing software available and get started on this project soon.

** Set Up – Out of the box it took me approximately 30 minutes to have this turntable ready to play records. Installing the platter and drive belt takes a little patience and finesse. I have large hands, so I asked my wife, who has much more manual dexterity then me, install the drive belt.

** Vinyl Record Care – To achieve the best sound playback possible vinyl records must be as dust, debris, and smudge free as possible. All vinyls should be cleaned thoroughly with a dampened microfiber cloth, dried, and stored in a controlled environment. Vinyl records are a dust magnet due to static electricity and an anti-static record cleaning brush is a valuable tool to have for cleaning the micro-grooves. Because fingerprints can damage vinyl I started handling them with gloves after cleaning. I also started to store them in polypropylene record sleeves along with the cardboard outer sleeve to preserve the original artwork and artist information. In time vinyl records increase in value, so they need to be protected and stored properly.

** Maintenance – From my past experiences: Keep the deck, stylus, and cushioned slip mat as dust-free as possible. Keep the hinged dust cover in place when the player is not in use. I found having an extra stylus and drive belt is good practice. These are the items in your turntable that will eventually wear out. Sony has Parts Distribution Partners listed that you can order these items from at their 'Support' website.

** Summary – Over the past five years Vinyl record sales have been increasing while CD sales have dropped off. New generations of folks are now discovering the energizing and full bodied, analogue sounds that only vinyl records capture. Love my vinyls! This Sony Stereo Bluetooth Turntable – PSLX310BT can be your gateway to linking the past with present day technology. I highly recommend the purchase of this unit for your own personal use, gift for a family member, or special friend.

Great for those new to Vinyl

I admit, I'm one of those guys that prefers all the music in my pocket and subscribe to a streaming service. But my parents gave me some old vinyls and I thought it would be cool to give them a try. I am admittedly not a vinyl junky, and in fact, I've never owned or probably ever operated one. But I must admit there's something magical about them, hearing the needle hit the record and just the way it sounds. Plus, when you buy vinyls, you aren't going to buy everything (maybe you will) so your collection better represents you and your tastes.

This turntable was nice for me, because it has Bluetooth. It doesn't look special, it's a big hunking square piece of plastic, and while I prefer to hardline my speakers into an amp to play, I appreciate the flexibility of streaming to a soundbar.

    SETUP

As a person who likes electronics, I generally skip past the manual and figure it out myself. However, I've never put together a turntable before and while there isn't much to do, I would recommend reading the instructions as there was more to it than I expected (I assumed it would literally be ready to go out of the box).

You simply connect the "rubber band" to the gears, put in the metal plate, snap on the hinges for the dust cover (which was hidden in the styrofoam) plug it in, and you're off.

Setting up red/white audio connections is easy. If that's the route your taking, you simply plug it into your amp. Bluetooth on the other hand, was a bit of trial and error. Normally you would connect a Bluetooth speaker to your phone and you can interact with a screen, but obviously the turntable doesn't have one. But I found the process pretty simple. You hold the Bluetooth button down on the turntable until it starts blinking blue and amber and then you put your speaker in pairing mode and they should connect. It took me a couple of tries, but it was pretty painless. I keep my turntable on (there's a hard switch in the back) to maintain that Bluetooth connection to my soundbar to limit connection issues. I have yet for it to disconnect while the turntable is on.

    SOUND QUALITY

Obviously, sound is really only as good as your speakers. I'm no audiophile, so I don't have an elaborate system for playing music. I usually listen through my soundbar. What I was impressed with is that the "old timey" (for lack of a batter descriptor) sound came through the soundbar. It sounded like I was playing a record and creates an wonderful listening experience. All in all, I don't think you'll be disappointed with the sound.

    EASE OF USE

So this is where my ignorance re turntables came into play. Using it. There's a cover to protect the needle, I removed it, but every time I tried to place the needle on the record (after turning it on and the platter began spinning) the needle kept going back to its position. Well, it's motorized. This make it easy to operate but takes a little fun out of it. You don't even have to press the needle. You simply push the start button and the needle goes into place on its own. It's a nice feature, but I sometimes like to place the needle on it myself.

    CONCLUSION

As a vinyl newbie, this is a great turntable. It's easy to set up and operate, although I assume most are, but it has the added convenience of Bluetooth that I know most turntables don't have. If you are looking for flexibility in your setup (I'm thinking keeping your turntable far enough from your audio equipment that would make it difficult to hardwire it to your receiver) then this is your best bet.

I guess the only downside is it's footprint. It's pretty large although most are. Sony could have shaved off some of the plastic on the sides but I assume it's to keep the standard width of home audio components.

    Modern take on vinyl

Having gotten back into listening to my old record collection, my old record player with built in speakers wasn’t cutting it. I have Google Home speakers in my home and they sound terrific with streaming audio. I wanted to extend this listening pleasure with my records. This Sony record player seamlessly connects to my Google home or any other Bluetooth speakers.

    Pros:

    • Easy to setup

    • Super easy to use

    • Looks great on your bookshelf

    Cons:

    • Unused AV cord is not detachable

    • Button actuations feels a bit cheap

I was looking for a replacement record player and I knew Bluetooth was the route to go. Bluetooth speaker’s sounds 100x better than any built in record player speakers. Setup was a breeze and it auto pairs when I hit the play button. What I love about this record player is that once you set your vinyl on the platter, close the lid and hit the buttons on the front to start playing. No need to manually place the tone arm. Hit play and it will automatically play the first song. Hit stop and it will put the tone arm back to the resting position and turn off. There is also a button to raise and lower so you can choose where to start on your vinyl. Once the record is done playing, the tone arm automatically returns home and stops the vinyl from spinning.

I would recommend this record player to anyone looking to use your better sounding Bluetooth speakers to listen to your records.

    Simple, Elegant, Functional

True vinyl aficionados have never accepted digital reproduction. Analog sounds better, they say, and always has. I cannot agree or disagree with that premise, since I haven’t listened to my LP's for more than 30 years. Another consideration is that I am not a person of means enough to invest in turntables that cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars, and esoteric cartridges that require another huge cash outlay. But I had an ample collection of those LP's languishing in the closet, with many titles that I had not listened to in years, and along came this Sony with a belt-driven platter and a Bluetooth radio to boot. How could I resist the temptation? I couldn't, of course.

    An Initial Challenge

This turntable is elegant and understated. The tone arm is shipped battened down to the it's rest, and the stylus is protected with a cover to secure it while you assemble the turntable. You must physically install the aluminum platter onto the spindle, and thread the belt which spans its inner diameter over the motor spindle. The instructions guide you through the process, but I mistook a vinyl appendage under the platter for the motor spindle. When I powered up, nothing happened. I quickly fixed the problem, found the motor spindle (it's metal), threaded it, and applied the black rubber mat to the top of the platter.

The literature states that the cartridge is of moving-magnet design. The stylus is replaceable, but the instructions do not indicate that other manufacturer's cartridges can be installed, which is understandable given the price of this device. With its dust cover installed, the assembly is quite attractive, and its all-black color will neutrally blend into virtually any home environment.

My receiver's low-level phono input had never been used until I attached this turntable's phono plug connectors. There is a three-level switch to adjust the output to suit your amplifier or receiver's sensitivity. I was pleasantly surprised at the sound. The records I played had been well cared for over the years, and, on most there was little groove noise, and relatively few pops and crackles. But some were present. Such is the nature of the interaction between grooves, vinyl, dust, styli and time. If you don't have a phono pre-amp on your receiver or amp, the turntable can also send a high-level "line" signal to one of your available inputs.

I would describe the "sound" of the Sony cartridge as neutral and well-balanced. I listened to several classical pieces and the imaging was precise. I just sat back and enjoyed the music, just as I would have so many years ago when LP's provided virtually the only high-fidelity sound source available in the home. I did have some initial reservations about the isolation provided by the turntable's feet. The Sony sat on a five-foot-wide hardwood enclosure which holds my other components. The floor is hardwood glued to a concrete slab. A 12-inch powered subwoofer is about twelve feet away. I listened at moderate to high volume without issue, so perhaps my reservations were unfounded. Still, in using this or any turntable, the user should be careful to protect the delicate stylus and careful to have the volume turned down when initially playing a record.

When the start button is pressed, the platter begins to turn, and the arm lifts and moves to the initial record groove, without the user having to touch anything but the button to initiate the process. If you want to pause, another button is pressed to lift the arm off the record in place. The upward and downward movement of the arm is nicely damped. Pressing the Stop button causes the arm to lift and return to its reset. The arm also returns to the rest if the entire side of the record is played through.

    What about Bluetooth?

I have the diminutive Sony Bluetooth speaker, the SRS-XB21, sitting on a shelf on the other side of the large living room where the turntable is placed. I never thought I would be using it to listen to an LP on a turntable, but in a few minutes, I had the devices paired. The turntable will allow up to eight separate devices to be paired with it. The sound was just gorgeous. I was able to take the speaker into the next room to enjoy the music playing on the turntable. I have never understood how such rich sound can come from such a little speaker, but the input from this turntable was perfectly reproduced. I have another practical reason for using the Bluetooth feature which I will explain in more detail later.

    USB Transfer

This turntable also has a USB output, but the cable is not supplied. I have one and connected the turntable to my computer to make a digital copy of one of my disks. I can't speak for all, but I am thinking this use for the turntable may be a significant purchasing reason for vinyl owners like me.

A Little Work, But It's Fun

"Ripping" LP's, of course must be done in real time. It requires the use of the Audacity software which Sony refers you to in the turntable manual. The audio runs from the phono amp on the turntable, through the USB cable and into your computer for processing. Depending on your operating system, you may need to adjust some of its audio-handling parameters to receive and process the signal from the turntable and monitor the signal while you record. Since I wanted to convert the tracks to mp3, Audacity required me to download a codec to accomplish that. In making the conversion, Audacity allows you to add the metadata from the song such as the artist, title, track number, etc. Once converted, Audacity also provides a means to edit the digital file, if needed, to trim it or to add fading, as the user may desire. The sampling rate selection affects both the audio quality and the ultimate size of the outputted file.

I was very pleased with the sound quality of the ripped mp3 files. Now, I suppose I am going to spend hour after hour listening to some of my long forgotten, but always-loved vinyl tracks while they are converted to digital form. It's a tough job, but somebody must do it, and I'm the man. Thank God, I have held on to those records after all these years. I am going to be having some great fun for many hours.

    Bluetooth revisited

One issue that I had was deciding where to place the turntable. I promise, the design is beautiful, but all my existing audio-video equipment made permanent placement a challenge. My stuff is in a cabinet directly under a large flat panel tv mounted on the wall. To fully enjoy all the features of this turntable, it needs to be in proximity of both my computer and my receiver. But after I ripped the tracks for this review, my wife did not like the placement of the turntable on top of the audio-video cabinet I was using. I disconnected it and moved it to a built-in bookshelf in another part of the living room. Instant wife approval! From that location, I can use the Bluetooth connection to enjoy the music from the records, and simply move the turntable temporarily back to the audio-video cabinet for ripping sessions. I have a man-cave upstairs with an amplifier and computer set up which might also furnish a permanent resting place for the turntable and future ripping chores, but for now, the little black beauty stays where it is.

    Wrap-Up

As you may have surmised, I very much like this turntable. It is affordable, physically attractive, practical, and has been a joy to use. And now my track-ripping duties are going to keep me busy for a long, long while. Oh, the torture!

    Sleek, Wireless, Fully Automatic

    Brief

This is a solid choice for an un-complicated consumer grade turntable, which is fully automatic (One-button start and stop) and an integrated Bluetooth interface that works great, connecting automatically upon start.

    Pros

    - Minimalist design.

    - Full-automatic operation: Three buttons up front: Cue List, start and stop. Inside the console, speed :33 1/3, 45 RPM, Size selector, and Bluetooth Control.

    - Phono or Line output with gain control.

    - USB audio output for converting to digital.

    - Bluetooth listening.

    Cons

    - Belt Drive: Turntables can be either Belt-driven or direct-driven. Most consumer turntables are belt-driven, which produces stable speeds with less vibration, but the belts eventually wear out. It's very easy to replace with no tools by lifting the platter, but will need to find a replacement, fresh belt when the time comes.

    - Bluetooth: It supports Bluetooth 4.2 with codecs SBC and Apt-X. It doesn't support AAC (which is used by Apple and others) and it also doesn't support Sony's own LDAC for high-definition Bluetooth audio, which is baffling considering the purpose of playing from a Turntable is to maintain audio fidelity. To be honest, the SBC codec is sufficient for playing with smaller speakers, but differences can be notable with headphones.

    - Instead of providing RCA posts for audio output, it has permanently attached cable with RCA connectors. I have no idea why they would do that.

    - The power supply is an external brick adapter. I find this very inconvenient.

    - There is no lock on the arm, so if you need to move the turntable, the manual indicates the user needs to tie a string through the arm. Every turntable I used has a clip to lock the arm, except this one.

    - The power button (standby) is on the back, which is the only way to turn it off completely.

    - Likewise, the gain control is also on the back of the turntable. Gain settings can be adjusted when playing different records.

    Observations

    - Because it's a consumer turntable, it doesn't have strobe speed control. Not an issue for people that just wants to listen to music.

    - The arm is very minimalistic. Very nice and lightweight. It works very well, but again, as a consumer turntable it doesn't provide weight adjustments.

    Audio

    - This is a proven mechanism that's very similar to previous Sony models, with a redesigned arm. The base of the plate is cast metal, which provides a stable foundation. The phono cartridge is Sony's MM type.

    Comparative listening

Playing the same record: Pink Floyd's The Dark Side Of The Moon, 2016 Remaster, which is a fine quality remaster in a heavy vinyl pressing, versus the 2003 CD, in my personal opinion, the LP produced warmer but detailed sounds. CD had more clarity but also more metallic sound. The turntable was able to produce the detailed background sounds this record is famous for.

    Overall

While this is not, and does not pretend to be a pro-grade turntable, the overall design and appearance is very nice, with a fully-automatic mechanism to keep it a pleasant experience, and Bluetooth transmitter to make connecting the turntable as simple as possible, but there are obvious design flaws, although small, that would've been addressed in a better way.

Excellent Vinyl Record Player for the Digital Age

Vinyl has been making a comeback for years now and nothing is more evident of that than Sony putting out new record players like this one. So far, my experience has been pretty solid!

    PROS:

    - The player is really nice to look at. It has a matte black look with a slight speckle to it and the dust cover is nice. Overall this is a very modern yet simple looking player.

    - Set Up is pretty easy. If you have or haven't used a vinyl record player before, it's easy to set up and the manual gives a lot of insight.

    - For playing music you either need a Bluetooth speaker or a speaker you can plug the component L/R wires into. Straight forward music playing set up.

    - Once you have it set up and connected to a speaker, playing music sounds excellent! I was really impressed with how good the sound is and overall operation of it is straight forward and not complex at all.

    BLUETOOTH:

    - I put Bluetooth in its own category because it has pros & cons. Once Bluetooth is connected, the record player works really well and is smooth, but getting to that point seems outdated. Basically, you need to hold the button on the speaker in pairing mode and hold the record player's Bluetooth pairing mode button at the same time until they connect. So it's not that it does not work, it just seems a little too basic for how expensive the record player. It maybe would be nice to have some sort of display screen to select which Bluetooth speaker you want to connect to or something like that.

    - Regardless, it works well connecting! It just doesn't feel as nice as it could be.

    CONS:

    - It would have been nice if the player had a built in battery for portability purposes. Just would be an added benefit given how it already has Bluetooth capabilities.

    - I really do not have issues with this vinyl speaker overall, very happy with it!

    BOTTOM LINE:

    - If you are looking to upgrade your current record player or buy your first one, you will not go wrong with this one. It looks really high end, has great ease of use, and the Bluetooth functionality is a great benefit!

    Great turntable

I bought this turntable so I can enjoy my records again, old turntable and speakers just not sounding good and found out it would cost alot to fix and not worth it. I did alot of research about bluetooth turntables thinking I could modernized and connect to my nose or the sound bar. Compared this with the audio technica turntable and opted for the Sony as they seemed comparable and the Sony was IN STOCK at Best Buy near me!

I found this easy to assemble. Connected to my Bose speaker via bluetooth after a couple of tries. Sound was much too quiet for my taste however. I was unable to connect it to the sound bar, may have needed to disconnect it from the tv which I was unwilling to do to my family. I opted to buy some bookshelf speakers (Edifier) and just use the RCA cable. Voila! Great sound easy to use. Just had to get used to the power button on the Sony turntable being in the back and make sure the output select is on

"line" and gain select is on "high".

    I definitely recommend this turntable!

Replaced an older Sony explod, primarily so I could add BT and XM built into the head. I was able to install myself in my RV and it fit well in the old harness. One thing that is constant amoung most of these style units is the poor user interface, and that is no different here.

    Good product

Bought this to match the brand of the turntable I bought. Only listen to records casually. Generally buy from secondhand or record stores.

This product has helped clean quite a bit of 'gunk' off of the ilder records Ive found. To be honest, you can only clean off so much previous, caked ok residue before you have to actually get a little more pressure on the record.

This product, though, can get the general grime and what not off of the record and helps shine it up. Disclaimer: i always take a soft cloth (or microfiber) to the record before to get the all of the loose hair and dust before using this product

We experienced a lot of damage to our record collection which was down in the basement, from Hurricane Ida. This product made our records look brand new and was so easy to use. We haven't played them yet so I don't know about the sound quality but at least they are clean.

    Album Cleaning Kit

Getting back into vinyl and figured I needed new cleaning kit. Used it as directed a few times but didn’t think velvet got moist after the 5 minute wait time. Now just put three drops directly onto velvet and clean album. Works much better.

    Make records sound wonderful

This is a wonderful kit and works wonders on how my vinyl records sound. Many years ago, I never heard of anything like this. Then after I bought my new Audio- Tecnica turntable, I heard about this. When I first bought the turntable, I just played my records as is. But then after I bought this kit, it was like night and day.

    Seems to Work Fairly Well

I’ve used this to clean some old (40-50 years) albums that had been in my parents’ attic. You can see all the dust it picks up. It’s not a deep cleaner per se but for surface dust & light fingerprints it seems to do the trick. I use this & an anti-static Boundless brush before spinning most of my records as it doesn’t take much time to let them spin a few times for a quick cleanup before dropping the needle. If you’ve got some heavy duty cleaning to do you might look into some other methods but this is a good option for a light, fast brush up.

    Vynil dust brush

I only Gave 4 Stares, product a bit pricey for a 2 oz bottle of fluid.

Like the idea of fluid goes in the brush itself instead of a spray bottle. There are two ports on top of or backside of brush to inject fluid.

    Excellent in Every Way

My old JBL radio that came with my 2003 Toyota Avalon stopped playing CDs completely and would rarely play radio music without heavy static, so I knew it was time to replace it. I searched the Best Buy website for a replacement and this seemed like the best option since it would fill up the space once my old radio was taken out.

I am so glad I chose this receiver because it plays CDs and I can also connect my phone via Bluetooth or AUX cable and play music from my phone. It comes with a microphone that Geek Squad installed above my rearview mirror so I can take calls using the receiver while my phone is hooked up in its holder on my dashboard. You can also install the JCV app and use your phone as a remote for the receiver, which is very helpful if you're parked and you want to control the receiver without having to press anything on the receiver.

Overall, this is an excellent receiver and it's very easy to use once you read the instruction manual. I highly recommend this product!

    LOVE it.

I love this stereo. I installed it myself (a single mom of 2 toddlers) and its actually pretty easy. Even the rewiring was easy to do. No problems with the bluetooth connectivity, love that the light is dimmable, on the actual radio the date and time are always displayed, when using other audio inputs just press menu to see the time. My phone automatically connects and i can use the stereo to control and make calls from my phone. Absolutely recommend.

    Great car stereo

This car stereo is amazing it’s a upgrade from my factory stereo that was missing a up button and the CD changer was jammed. So far Bluetooth was amazing for music streaming, I can skip a song without touching my phone. Same thing as using the USB port. The radio sounds great and so is the CD player. I haven’t tried satellite radio yet. The best part of the stereo is it have radio data system so it will show the artist and the name on the song playing on the stereo through the radio station on AM, FM and satellite radio, USB, Bluetooth and sometimes CD.

    Radio

This was a great purchase. However, please make sure you have the wiring that work with the car radio. These are things that you are unaware of when trying to install it. This will cause a installation delay if the parts aren't available at the store. Please call the store in advance and inquiry on the wiring that you will need. This will eliminate the back and forth of going to the store and have to reschedule because the parts are not there.

    I love it!!!

I have a 2002 car and it had a really old radio you couldn’t put CDs in and the channels were kind of iffy. So I decided to go with this one because I wanted to be able to listen to CDs connect to my phone, call from my phone, have a better signal, and just have a better experience overall. I Really really enjoy this new stereo

    Decent Double Din

Pretty good functionality, the only thing is sometimes the BT connects and plays but is mute. I have to turn the source to AM and back to BT before it works again, does it every so often. Possibly not the fault of the stereo but an install issue? Not sure but it works fine aside from that and enhanced my speaker output.

Best fully automatic turntable for the money

I would describe myself as a budget audiophile, I try to look for the best sound for the money without going broke. While I do have some expensive speakers and amp the rest is based on value for the buck that is why I bought the Denon Turntable. I have had it for two months and I will now write a review.

I give this turntable 4 stars it is the best fully automatic turntable on the market. 4 stars because the turntable is hardwired instead of having RCA jacks so you can put on better quality cables

The instructions on adjusting the tonearm are vague in one area, luckily there is an excellent U tube video that shows exactly how to set it up. I also purchased a scale to measure the tone arm weight this allowed me to measure what the actual weight, and it was .5 grams off of what the dial said on initial set up now its spot on.

The cartridge that is standard has a Conical stylus, this rides high in the record grove and does not providing good high frequency response because it cant go down further in the grove. plus its harder on your vinyl, at the price point of this turntable the cartridge is the weakest point. I tossed it, and added a higher quality Grado Green with and Elliptical stylus. This is the only fully automatic turntable with a user replaceable cartage on the market, you can put on just about any one you can afford. All the other fully automatic turntable that I looked at did not have this feature so not worth the money as the cartridge is what produces the sound.

I got rid of the rubber platter mat and exchanged it for a cork mat in order to reduce static and increase the sound quality which it did.

I found out that both the phono preamps I had, the one built in my AV receiver (I am using my AV receiver as the preamp for a higher power amp in my system in order to drive 4 ohm electrostatic speakers.) and the one built in to the turntable did not supply a high enough output as I had to turn the volume up on the AV receiver to maximum to get it to a good listening level. I ended up purchasing a high gain phono preamp that increased the level from 40db to 60 db and it works perfect now.

The turntable places the stylus on the record very smoothly no sodden drop, no wow or flutter or turntable rumbling. I cant comment on the sound as it would be discussing the upgraded cartridge and preamps sound.

Simple, very nice turntable. Easy to assemble.

The assembly for the turntable is easy, you just have to follow the simple instructions and it’s ready to go. This is my second record player but my first one over $100. The design is simple, yet sleek and sturdy. It has some weight to it, which is good. This definitely has more to it than my previous one. I still need to read all the instructions to get the best sound and use but overall I am loving this turntable.

    Pretty good value

Pretty good turntable, however the cartridge appears to be inferior. I am basing this on the sound quality I was used to from my old B&O, so this may not be a fair comparison. I will purchase a better cartridge shortly and that will take care of it. Otherwise I am happy with my purchase

    Great Turntable

This turntable works like a champ (at this price point). As my first turntable it is easy to set up and I love the auto off feature it offers. The only inconvenience part is the length of the phono cable. I definitely recommend it if you look for a solid turntable at a affordable price range.

Great radio for cars with limited space!

Amazing unit for people that don’t have room for a double din stereo, or simply don’t want to destroy the dash to put one in. Love my 2006 BMW 325i, it just needed to be current with technology, and this stereo completed my wish! Some people might complain about the screen, but we have a couple of 2015 cars that have the same type of screen. If you want an “IPad touch feel” than this is not for you as those are twice the price! If you just want a screen that can go in when you want or out, then get this radio! Apple car play and Bluetooth work amazing! I don’t mind plugging in the wired connection as anything is better than what I had before. I am so excited to have Sirius XM as before I had the portable XM radio with all types of wires all over my car and now with the module connection to the back of this radio I have no wires on my dash! I often find myself excuses just to drive around now, I love it!!

A Great upgrade from a factory radio

This radio had everything I was looking for: Bluetooth, USB port for charging and Apple Car Play function. Everything else is just a bonus. It has hands free calling, reads your text message, you can verbally reply to the text message and say"Send" and it'll send it. Yes, I know it has a DVD player/CD player but I wasn't interested in those features since this was a gift and the person using this radio doesn't listen to CD's and I was uncomfortable splicing into the parking brake to have the DVD feature to work when the car is parked. If you don't want to modify your dash, or a double DIN radio just doesn't fit but you want modern features, this is the solution. The car that I installed it in looks like it always belonged in there.

    Excellent choice

Bought this radio because a double din would not work in my application but still wanted a bigger screen. So far I am very happy with my purchase. Bluetooth is easy to connect and just as easy to switch between when multiple devices are connected. Android Auto works flawlessly with my galaxy s10. Most importantly the sound quality is excellent and adjusting the eq is simple with a wide range of frequencies. The only reason for the 4 star rating is because of the price compared to a comparable double din.

    Great but beware . . .

I just installed in this in my 2002 F-150. Fit well with little modification. Had wanted a double DIN but too much modification was needed to the dash. Love everything about this radio - sound quality, Bluetooth, hands free calling, etc. Can be a little tricky to operate at first. The only disappointment is that the specs say it has "selectable color illumination". This model does not. Now I have blue illumination on the stereo with green everywhere else. Not a huge deal but it is is disappointing when specs are incorrect, so beware.

Fantastic addition/replacement player for my truck

Great player that allows for hands free calls in the vehicle. Has both FM & AM with the ability to program lots of channels, and the CD player works great. There are lots of features, and I'm still working through those because all I really wanted was anew CD player in my truck- the rest have been bonuses. The only thing that keeps me from giving this 5 stars is that it goes into demo or ad mode (showing what it does on the screen) after it plays for a while. It might be me and I haven't figured out how to get that to stop (besides pushing the display button on the remote).

    Stereo

It’s a good radio with some good options: Bluetooth pairing of your smartphone so no more audio cable, although it does have one jack just in case. It also has a usb charger port so you can use the cigarette lighter port for charging another phone. Two other settings besides the standard AM/FM and aux, which I have yet to use are the Spotify and Pandora modes. A lot more power than the one I had before, so the sound quality is nicer, cleaner.

Takes me back to the 80's

I've read the past reviews, and took the risk purchasing through Deal of the Day. I will tell you I have people offering the full price if I would sell it to them. Needless to say, I've kept it and continue to enjoy this flashback boombox. Although not the quality of sound like the new generation of systems like Bose, Sony, and other brands of the like, the sound quality is pretty good. Obviously, the quality of digital music nowadays is a lot higher, so it is a step up from the analog music played through the original boomboxes.

Overall quality is fairly good. The knobs are cheap plastic, and not the quality as found on the original boomboxes, but if you can look past it, you will enjoy. The only thing I would've appreciated would be having the VU meters rather than the light show, like the ones installed on the JVC and Panasonic boomboxes of yesteryear that I owned as a teenager.

Overall, I am enjoying the boombox, and further enjoy the reaction people have when they hear it playing "old school" rock and R&B.

    Very good sounding "retro" boombox.

It was nice to find a modern version of a "retro" boombox like in the 1980's, that plays CD'S and

is up to date to play MP3's with a USB Flashdrive

input and bluetooth too from an external music

player, as I can from my smartphone.

The digital aspects, in red, are useful for showing

the mode chosen, etc. The Peak Sound displays

and blue backlights on the speakers are colorful.

However, the Peak Sound levels are quite sensitive

to the recorded levels, and they reach peak easily.

The Bass and Treble tone controls are helpful.

The AM and FM reception are moderate in their sensitivity, failing to pick up and separate weaker

AM stations, and FM Stereo reception requires a

fairly strong signal. It would be nice to have these

Frequencies in a digital readout, which have been

    available for over 30 years.

There are not any recording capabilities such as to

CD's not Flashdrives, which would be nice, but

    probably at a greater cost.

So far the internal rechargeable battery seems to

    power the unit well.

    Great pick for the price.

This is a great system for the price and wattage. Very loud. Im very pleased. Has great bass for $200. Holds a strong bluetooth connection with my phone. I turn the volume to 26 and it shakes my deer park 16oz water bottle. I can hear clearly on both floors of my house and i live in a 3 bedroom. Every room. I can feel the bass in my chest in the same room and in the walls and floor on the second floor. Depending on the song i can even hear and feel it outside when letting my dogs out.

The LG XBOOM is truly an awesome system. I added it to replace an old SONY system with Subwoofer, and added the LG Soundbar with Subwoofer, along with the LG SPK8-S Rear Surround Speakers. I did that to replace my old Yamaha Surround System. Now the sound I'm looking for is back to normal. It goes well with the LGTV. My favorite brand for 11 years now.

    Disappointing Audio Quality

Flat, Muffled sound from most audio sources and songs due to poor quality speakers and lack of equalizer adjustments. Everything else works fine. It's just pointless to have poor sound. I had a portable boom box from decades ago that sounded way better than this. If you're a mechanic or machinist in a noisy shop, it might work for you. Don't say I didn't warn you. Read other negative reviews. Upgrading to Sony.

    Straight Up AWESOME!

Ohhh, how I had HOPED this system was at least as good as the reviews said: it ISN'T, it's BETTER! I am soooo happy with my music, whether it's on a CD or the radio! Both have excellent quality of pure, rich, crisp sound. And the bass? Forget about it: wonderful! Of course, the bass is truer and richer on CD's that are made in the last 25-30 years. Old Beatles music pre-Sgt. Pepper isn't as rich bcs of the production value. But! It still sounds great! That said, my Gregorian Chant, Lila Downs, classical cello solos, Joni Mitchell, Rolling Stones (late 60's upward), Aretha (need I say more?), the Killers, movie sound tracks, New Age beta music, Keith Urban, Sting, etc, sound PERFECT! Heaven!

It was easy to set up, too. And it's not a small unit, either, so think about the space it'll occupy before you get it.

The unit came very well packaged. No damage. And, the system is attractive and doesn't look like a gaudy spaceship. It's Adult. I have no problems with operating it or reading the dials. The FM antenna needs to be moved around sometimes depending on the strength of the signal, but what else is new? They're all like that. Plus, there's an awesome Christian FM station that I love; I thought they were only on AM! I am blessed with this Champ of a system and I'm still pinching myself!

Wonderful piece of entertainment from the past

Love it. Picked it up at the local BestBuy. No damage. Everything is just awesome. Sound quality on a scale of 1 to 10 is about 7 or 8. Radio works great, so does CD. Bought a couple of LPs and the sound quality is better than expected. A great piece of entertainment gadget with a dose of nostalgia. Transferring old audio cassette tapes from the '80s was a piece of cake after I connected it to my laptop via a simple USB cable and installing the software Audacity that came with the player. The only reason I am giving it a 4 stars out of 5 is because the cassette tape can only be manually forwarded but not rewinded. If you wanted to rewind the tape, you'll have to use forward all the way to the end and then flip the tape. Another feature I wish it had was a counter for the audio tape. Other than these two minor issues, the unit is a wonderful piece to own. If you are like me who just wants to listen to old tapes and vinyls with better than decent sound quality, I say go for it. I placed it on a wooden table I already had and it looks great!

Nice audioentertainment system for a tight budget.

This unit doesn’t have the greatest speakers, but it does a decent job of playing my vinyls as well as my cds. The radio plays much more clearly than my old one did. There is also a slot for playing cassette tapes. I got rid of all of mine because my last player wouldn’t play them, so I haven’t used that feature. The blue tooth feature will allow one to play music from other devices over its speakers, but doesn’t allow blue tooth speakers to enhance the sound coming from it. All -in-all this system is quite versatile and and does an adequate enough job, so that I am very satisfied with it.

Not my favorite but gets the job done!

This is a really nice radio. I love the functions it has. What I don’t like is the set up. The buttons on the left are so small and so far over that once it was installed I can’t push them easily bc of the piece that had to be installed to hold it in my Durango.

The "Free" Installation was NOT Free...

I love the Kenwood! However I had issues reguarding the "free" installation. When I purchased the radio I was told the free installation would cost around $30. I went to my neighborhood Best But and was told as I purchased the radio they couldn't schedule my install because the installation center would get mad. So I called and scheduled the install myself. I then visited the store where the radio was to be installed. The gentlemen said I would cost $230 to have it installed. They said I needed a $149.00 module that was suited for a newer car and they would might have to cut things to make the Kenwood "fit". I then called Kenwood and they referred me to Crutchfeild.com. They told me I needed and cheaper module. I spent $100 on parts including panel removal tools and soldered the connections myself and installed it myself in 45 minutes. Not cool Best Buy installation guys...

No coordination between BestBuy, Geek Squad and me

Would have given 5 stars if not for the poor coordination between Best Buy, Geek Squad and me. When i arrived at my installation appointment, the guy told me i needed more parts for the installation and he also needed to charge me $30 more for adding a power wire??? Wheres the free installation?? I went into the store and they didn't have all what i needed. I had to order parts and reschedule my appointment more than two weeks out. I wish Best Buy would have coordinated better. I didn’t know exactly what they needed and they didn’t tell me to come back and order specific items ahead of time. Coordination between BB, Geek Squad and customers needs to improve. So, i finally got what i needed and showed up for the installation. It went well, except that the guy installing my new stereo lost my user manual, so now i have to look it up online and print one. I have 2007 Ford Mustang GT.

    Nice vehicle stereo

The aftermarket stereo in my 1998 Ford F150 finally died. 26 years old (I installed it from another vehicle) This stereo had all the features I wanted, with a few more than I thought I needed, but I like them now. Installation went according to plan although the instructions for the kit required to install this stereo into the truck could have been a bit more clear. Overall this is a good install and a very nice stereo.

    Perfect radio for me.

I love this radio. I have a 2000 Honda Civic I just bought which needed a Bluetooth Radio. I have 24/7 Geek Support on my computers so installation was free if one has this. The salesman was knowledgeable and helped me pick out just the right one for my needs. I am old school and am still listening to my CDs so wanted a CD player. I have been a city girl for 30 years and hadn’t had a car until I bought my Honda so I really knew next to nothing about them. The technicians were on-time, friendly and gave me a great demo after installation. This radio hooks up effortlessly when I get in the car. The colors look cool. I am very happy with this purchase. No downside for me on this radio. This was a win for me from start to finish.

    What a good purchase!

So far, I'm really enjoying this radio. Xavier at the Buckhead store did a nice job of working with me to find a good radio that would fit. This radio actually has buttons that you can press, which I appreciate because I couldn't seem to apply the right amount of pressure to the screen on the previous one I had. This one also fits nicely with my Toyota Corolla, 2010. Further, the buttons light up in different colors, very slowly. I'm quite pleased!

    Satisfied Customer

I recently purchased the Kenwood DPX504BT Built-in Bluetooth-In-Dash CD/DM Receiver- Black receiver. It was installed by Geek Squad in Henderson. I really like the performance and particularly the USB port. On my vehicle there would be a loud POP in the speakers every time the radio was turned on. I was advised of this when I picked up my vehicle and was told I need to provide a 12voly to 5 volt step down resistor and they would install it at no charge. I did get the resistor and they installed it as promised. The loud POP is now gone. Perfect.

    Freakin' Awesome!

Access to Spotify alone makes this purchase worth it. It's as much fun as getting a TV for the first time. I can choose what bands want to listed to -- things I'd never hear on terrestrial radio like: Dispatch, Lucky Boys Confusion, The Czars, Australian Country Music Artists, almost anything you can imagine!

The user interface can be tricky though. You cannot easily input a new GPS destination EVEN WHEN STOPPED because the car is worried you're driving. I usually have to pull the jack out or speak loudly towards the microphone --several times in a row-- to get voice activation to work.

Still, this is so much more enjoyable than my factory head unit. I can't wait to take even a grocery store trip so I can listen to Spotify.

Apply CarPlay & USB Connection Not working

I bought this item on 9/16/2020, I was able to get it installed 2 weeks after 9/16. I waited 2 weeks for a harness and interface to fit a 2012 Malibu. Literally a week after installation, CarPlay quit working. I got a message and took a picture of it. I called Bestbuy, and unfortunately I don’t have their extended warranty, so they didn’t help me. I called Pioneer Electronics and that was a total disaster. They have no idea what this product even existed and I thought that was strange. I am dealing with it now, and for those that do not care about Apple CarPlay or the USB connection, take your shot but you’ll probably have a better experience with this product than I did. But, if I can go back, I would have got a different brand. Pioneer electronics are not very helpful.

Overall Awesome Head Unit For The Price

I installed this in my 2009 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited to replace the factory radio. I also installed the iDatalink Maestro module to retain all of the factory original features and was required in order to control front to rear fade as I kept the factory Infinity amplifier. The Maestro also gives me an engine gauge screen on the new Pioneer, tire pressure, door status, battery voltage, and engine error code display/reset via the ODB connector. I also replaced all of the factory speakers. JBL Harman components in the front, JBL coaxials in sound bar, and a Pioneer low profile sub in the rear. Finally I also installed a backup camera which is displayed on the Pioneer screen. So far I love the Pioneer head unit. Amazing sound quality, great features. I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Android Auto is really cool. Allows me to run Waze navigation and other apps like Pandora when my phone is plugged into the Pioneer USB port. My only complaints, thus the 4 stars: (1) Wish there were two USB ports, keep switching between USB thumb drive loaded with music files and my phone for navigation. (2) Control buttons on left side are rather small. Overall a great radio and great price! Was $450 but got it on sale for $299. TIP: The Metra dash install/trim kit I used has very soft/cheap plastic, cracks easily. I've read that Scosche makes a better quality one and will pursue that brand for future installs.

    Nice Unit!

So far- so good. Really nice unit with capability to do so much. I plan on adding on the Maestro feature this spring, along with cameras. That’s what I like about it....if you can’t afford to do everything at once, you can add features 1 by 1. I’ve never been a pioneer fan, I usually like Kenwood. But, after seeing a review on the Money Pit feature on Donut media’s Facebook page- pitting pioneer against the exact Kenwood model I was contemplating, it won me over. Granted....the unit they reviewed was a 1500 NEX- if I went with a more expensive model it should be just as good, if not better. The call quality on both ends are great. After seeing mine - I have friends and family looking to upgrade.

The fine print and proximity to each other make it difficult to operate. It was purchased for use in a group home with developmental challenged individuals and is unlike that it can be used independently and some staff mentioned difficulty in operated, even those with advanse degrees

A little shoddy, could be better

The DVD Player isn't too bad but is shoddly made. The controls for the DVD Slot takes several times to open and close, I had a large fan about 4 feet to the right of the Player and when I would turn the DVD Player on the fan would start working as well. I would have to manually to off the fan. I have since moved the fan. It still works but not as well as I hoped.

    Does its job

Sure glad I kept the remote from my old one (on the right)! Apparently Panasonic intends this for the kid's room-very little kids-you know, with tiny little hands! And the old one has tv volume buttons!

I found setting it up a little confusing, but it does what it's supposed to do with no bs!

    A very, VERY, simple player

I thought I wanted a simple Blu ray player. And this indeed delivered. Delivered great 4k quality. The menu is lightweight with no bloatware. Panasonic commits to bringing updates to it over time. Not flashy in anyway.

Unfortunately, it was so simple it didn't fit my use case here at home. I wasn't able to use it to access my digital copies of my Blu ray collection. So I am upgrading to the magnolia version of this one.

    Totally worth it!

Wow, this 4k player is awesome! Standard DVD's are upscaled, Blu Ray are also upscaled and 4k movies are like your right there on set in real life! Excellent price plus I had a coupon, this player can do it all, no need to spend way more than you need to, this is it for me. Pictures included in review. (Some say the remote is way to small, it's the exact same size as my new 4k tv. I have zero issues with the remote size)

    Bang for your bucks!!!!!!!!

Money well spent! For the price I paid for this player it provides just what needed. The picture quality and Dolby atmos puts you definitely into theater mode. The only tiny thing I don’t like about this is the fact it doesn’t have the digital audio output it just have the orange optical. And yes it’s just basic! No Netflix and YouTube here but who needs that anyway. I have plenty of devices to replace for those apps. But all in all I love this player so far and I forgot to say how quiet the player is not like that loud garbage disposal Sony.

    Great product!

This works great. Besides just being an UHD Blu-Ray player, the front USB port will also work with external hard drives. I rip my DVD and Blu-Ray collection down to hard drive for convenience, and I can attach my USB hard drive to the front port and watch the DVDs and BluRays through this player. The USB port on my TV will *not* support USB hard drives, only flash drives, so this was a nice discovery that this player works with USB hard drives.

Excellent! No need for fancy features. This works.

I do not need a fancy player with features my tv or streamers already have. I just need a box to play a disc and pass the signal to my tv and sound system unfiltered and unchanged. This worked perfectly for my HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos, and etc etc. No need to spend money on extra "features" when I only want a disc read and data passed to TV (unfiltered and unchanged). Worked perfectly with my 2021 "top of the line" Samsung model. I recommend. This review is after 3 months of use, and well evaluated.

    Christmas CD Player

I love the music quality. It is nice to have a cd player, radio and cassette player all in one. My only problem is that I can not find a power button on the actual unit. Usually your first set of batteries come with the remote, but since they didn't I have not been able to find the power button. I love the unit other then that. I have even hooked up the Bluetooth to the device. The surround sound makes it sound like the bands are right in the house with me.

Can listen to 5 CDs one after another.

It has been so long since I 've been able to get lost in my music. But with the 5 CD changer I am in music heaven. Being able to play 5 CDs was the reason I purchased this item. The system does a lot and it has taken me a bit to get familiar with all the buttons. ECO will turn off main display. Have not figured out to keep the time on the display....but I will. And the music plays on.

This is not what I expected.

I purchased this stereo system, it was not what I expected. Without raising the base to level five sound sounds like crap. So you have to raise the base level to level five and it still sounds like crap you have to push the button for extra bass in order for you. To hear the sound that you should normally here at level five without extra bass. When you hit the button for extra bass it’s still not loud enough. When you hit the button to lower the volume level of the base level it will not go back down to level one it stays locked. And when you hit the CD open up the door for city one it opens up and closes instantly before you can even put the CD in. The font lettering on the stereo system is sooooooo small in print Font you can barely even read what it says the stereo system it’s not worth the price that they’re selling it for very disappointed also you cannot store your favorite radio stations with a remote control. You have to search for your favorite radio station. System is hard to set up for Bluetooth. Very unhappy with this product As you can see in the pictures you can’t even see the font lettering even up close in the picture. This is a crappy product. Not worth $219 with taxes

    Works fine.

This stereo has all of the features that I was looking for. I can load 5 cds and start them playing. They will play progressively on their own for a long time while I work. I also have a large collection of cassettes from the 80s. It can play them too. The fm works ok. I will add a tv antenna and cable, which will plug into the back. There is one thing that I really do not like about it. You have to use the remote to 'boot' it up. Tell me what if the batteries corrode in the remote.

    Performance Excellent for Mini Stereo

This Sharp mini stereo is just what I wanted. Compact but performs like a larger system. I have tested all components and have been satisfied with it.

I suggest that before you operate this mini stereo that you read the instructions and the online Q&As. This definitely helped me to avoid issues since I was aware of setup and became familiar with the main unit and remote prior to using it. A lot of buttons to push but taking the time to learn the mini stereo system was beneficial.

Great Value and an Easy way into Vinyl

I never had a Vinyl record player before, so this was my first shot into it. The outer case is a good quality and the suitcase form factor makes it super easy to transport anywhere you would need in your house or to a friend's place.

As someone who doesn't know anything about record players, the instructions were easy to follow. More or less, put the record on, put the needle down and away you go. Sound quality is good for the price. The Bluetooth feature is super nice and convenient too. I also just love the way it looks. It's a very good looking piece in any home or apartment.

I'm definitely going to keep investing in more vinyl. It's a fun and inexpensive way to listen to music for anyone just starting out!

    Great starter turntable

I’ve recently gotten into purchasing, listening to and collecting vinyl records. They say the best way to experience a music album is by listening to it off a vinyl record. It’s so true! I get lost just listening to the music and sitting there watching the record spin. That being said.. I’m still an amateur when it comes to turntables, but I think I know just enough to understand what a good turntable should have. The most important thing that this turntable does not have is a counter weight on the arm. It has this plastic block on the end of it but it hardly weighs anything. The arm is also very lightweight, not sure if its a good or bad thing yet. Problem with it not having the counterweight is that it will be prone to skipping and slight warping sounds when in use.Even though it has a vibration dampening mat, It skipped on me a couple of times when my gf walked by, it also kind of made this weird chopped and screwed effect also lol. She has heavy feet when she walks though, so your mileage may vary lol. I think you could easily solve that problem by putting the turntable on a heavy and sturdy surface though. Perhaps a heavy table or dresser, and away from high traffic areas in your home. Is it a deal breaker? I don’t think so. This turntable has enough good things going for it to make it worth buying in my opinion. It is very lightweight. has a removable dust cover, the built in speaker sounds decent at low to middle volumes. At max volume, I feel like it sounds too tinny, and it kind of hurt my ears. When playing at about 50% volume, everything sounded quite nice to my ears. Treble and Mids are well balanced and it has just enough bass to sound pleasing. I decided to listen to Femia by Purity Ring for starters because it has a nice mix of tones to test a speakers quality and in my opinion it sounded very pleasing.I think the built in speakers sound good enough for casual listening and I will be using the built in speakers to listen to my records but If you aren’t 100% satisfied with them, you can always connect your own speakers with a aux or rca cable or bluetooth. It also has the ability to play music on the built in speakers from your phone if you choose to do that also. Pretty cool! All in All, I think this turntable is an excellent value for anyone just getting started with their record collection. It has plenty of useful features, it is light and easy to move around the house and the speakers sound pleasant.

    Pros: Lightweight and portable

Pretty Good sounding built in speakers

Many ways to connect your speakers

    Very Affordable

High quality and Replaceable Audio Technical needle

Cons- Could use a counterweight on the arm. Not a deal breaker though

    Interesting features, some small concerns

This isn't your great-grandfather's Victrola, that's for sure. This turntable is enhanced with the 21st Century technology of a 3.5mm earphone jack and Bluetooth. You therefore have four options for listening to output from your records: the built-in speaker, your external amplifier/speakers through an RCA line out, earphones or headphones from the 3.5mm jack, and a Bluetooth speaker, headphones, or earbuds. Furthermore, if you want to stream Bluetooth audio from another device like your phone into the Victrola to one of the other three outputs, that is easily accomplished as well, although I am not sure why you would want to do that.

I have a few small concerns about this turntable, although none of them are deal-breakers. The first is its small size. On the one hand, compact is good, but this turntable is so small that a 33 LP will hang out over the left edge and back. This means that the plastic cover has cutouts on the left, back, and front edges so that it does not come down on top of the LP if you want to put the cover down. If you compare this in the picture to my vintage Pioneer turntable, you'll see that the cover on the Pioneer comes down completely over the record and also protects the turntable from dust when not in use. I also discovered such a small margin of clearance for the back edge of the VTA-73 lid that the lid has to lean slightly forward, or it will hit the record (see other photo). The spring-loaded hinges for the lid maintain that perfect slant, but if you accidentally lift the lid to 90 degrees, the back edge of the lid will hit an LP on the turntable.

Another small concern is that, normally, RCA output from a turntable goes to the phono input of an amplifier, which provides the proper amplification. However, the VTA-73 apparently has a built-in preamp, so you do not want to plug the RCA output into your amplifier's phono input. Instead, run it into an auxiliary jack of your amplifier.

Here is another small oddity. Normally, when you ask for one form of output from a device, it shuts off the others. And this is the case when you plug in earphones or ask for Bluetooth output: this will turn off the built-in speaker. But if you use the RCA output into your amplifier, sound continues to come out of the built-in speaker (naturally, at less fidelity than your external system). I'm not sure why you can't turn off the built-in speaker when you are using external output.

Other than these small concerns, I am satisfied with the performance of this little turntable. The documentation is excellent. It can play 45s with an adapter as well as 33 and 78 records. All of the features work as advertised. It is lightweight and therefore very portable. The Bluetooth functionality is cool. The fidelity isn't quite as good as the turntables I purchased in the 80s and 90s but is acceptable. I can recommend this product.

    conflicted on this turntable

Ok, let me get my biggest issue out of the way with this Record Player, the Victrola - Eastwood Signature Hybrid Record Player should be bigger. The footprint of this unit requires you to keep the cover open (at a specific angle) to play full size LP records. I found this to be a limiting factor in where I could place the unit (for instance on the top of other audio components in stack fashion) or on a shelf (since it requires a least a foot of vertical clearance. The only situation where I would find the smaller size useful is if I wanted to use this as a portable unit (secure the stylus arm prior to moving), with the inclusion of speakers and connectivity that opens up that possibility for that reason I upgraded this unit rating by a single additional star.

As for the turntable itself, if you can deal with the above limitations, this is a versatile unit. It features small built-in speakers for playback, a headphone jack, RCA outputs and most importantly these days, Bluetooth connectivity (both to and from other devices). So, you can play music through the unit’s speakers from a phone, tablet or any other Bluetooth capable playback device. My favorite feature was to be able to output the turntable to Bluetooth speakers and headphones. Being able to do this allowed me to blast my LP of Loudness – Thunder in the East through my huge Sony SRSXP500 Bluetooth Portable Wireless Speaker, quite the 80’s parking lot scene.

As for operation of the turntable, it is manual affair which didn’t really bother me except I reminisced about the skill of track queuing. The stylus provided good playback characteristics and seemed to be a step above the normal bundled version, it was no Shure or Audio Technica, but now I’m dating myself again.

If you want a versatile record player this is a good fit, with basic featured record playing mechanism with the added features of Bluetooth in/output and built-in speakers.

    Pros:

    - Versatile connectivity

    - Built in playback speaker

    - Decent stylus cartridge

    - Nice design and aesthetics

    - buttons on front panel for controlling playback from Bluetooth input devices

    - Small footprint

    Cons:

    - Small footprint/platter placement requires LP records be played in the open cover position (and a specific angle).

    Small enough to fit anywhere

Vinyl just gives the right ambiance. There is nothing like sitting in the living room just relaxing and listening to some high-quality music. My youngest (almost 3 now) is entranced with watching the record go around and around. His friend wanted to be a DJ so we closed the top and he still had access to the edge or the record so if you have young ones that like to touch things they aren’t supposed to this doesn’t fully enclose the record which may be important to you. The size is just right for those that aren’t looking for a centerpiece but instead a player that will fit on any side table. Now beside the analog portion of this there are a few bonuses on the technology side. There is Bluetooth in and out. This is where you can miss out on quality if you aren’t careful. Not all Bluetooth is created equal, if you have it right next to where you want to listen privately your best bet is to use the Aux input that is on it. But if not for Bluetooth in your device and app will determine the quality of your music and any hope of getting it to vinyl levels. My wife’s iphone 12 couldn’t take advantage of HD quality Bluetooth but my z fold 3 could, we also needed to use a HD capable music app such as TIDAL or Amazon Music and a HD song.

Side Note: An HD recorded song is all about how many samples were taken for each second in order to convert the song that was being recorded into a digital format. The best way to explain it is watching a move in DVD quality versus 4kUHD quality… depending on the content, where you are, and how much you care DVD quality might be good enough, but if you really want to be immersed you want that 4k version.

Back to the Bluetooth portion of the review… If you are in an apartment and this is your only speaker then using spotify, yt music, itunes, or whatever other sd music app for normal listening will work just fine, but if you are hoping to get almost as good of quality out of this as with vinyl then you’ll want a pretty new phone (Bluetooth 5.1 support) and an app that has HD music.

The Bluetooth out is in the same boat except a little simpler, you will want to make sure your headphones support Bluetooth 5.1. The sound is pretty awesome this way and depending on how good your headset is it might be even better than the built-in speakers, but once again your Bluetooth device is instrumental to the quality that you end up with.

Do you need all this to connect, absolutely not, but I guess I just feel like if you are going to go through the trouble to selecting a vinyl putting it on and turning it (vinyl is not a set and forget for the rest of the day) then you’ll want the best sound quality you can so I included how to get it. Overall, I love this device, it is just the right size for us and it has some tech built in that is fun to play with and may even come in handy.

    A Blast from the Past

I grew up with my parents listening to records at home. Billy Joel, Frank Sinatra, Christmas music, Journey, etc. I am obsessed with music in my daily life. My family has subs for Spotify, Amazon Music, and YouTube Music, but there is something special about being able to hold your favorite albums. I was looking for a great record player, and this Victrola knocked it out of the park.

    / Setup /

Setup was a breeze, take of the protective wrapping, plug it in, read the little quick start guide, and remember to take off the needle protector. I was a bit worried the first time I went to place a record on it, it seemed like it was not going to fit, but that is just the style. I think it looks great with some of the ends of the record spinning off the player. Connecting a Bluetooth speaker was also simple, but honestly the built-in speaker is plenty loud and clear to fill up our living room.

    // Sound //

Let me preface this by saying that I am not an audiophile so I am sure there are systems you can pay 10x the amount for that would give you clearer sound. That being said, for someone like myself that spends all day listening to music in quality headphones, car, and through a nice soundbar; the sound that is being produced by this little player and the built-in speaker is terrific. All 3 of my sons really like it, and my wife has even started going out and buying some older records she enjoyed. The sound is warm, clear, and has no problem filling our home. We started listening to Christmas music now that we are off for Thanksgiving break, and the Vince Guaraldi Trio – A Charlie Brown Christmas album is beautiful played on here. We’ve all listened to some Garth Brooks albums, some Motown hits, and some Beach Boys, and every genre sounds amazing. A real time traveling experience to my childhood.

There is a mode that allows you to use the great speaker built-in to the Victrola as a Bluetooth speaker to stream music from your phone, but I haven’t tried that. I would imagine the sound would be great as well. I did connect the Victrola to another external speaker, but like I said the speaker in the Victrola is great. I don’t think I will be using the external speaker again.

    /// Conclusion ///

There is something nostalgic about playing records. I like that my sons are now getting that same experience I had when I was a kid. I love holding some of my favorite albums or looking at the album art while we listen to it. For anyone looking to get into listening to vinyl this would be a terrific place to start. Setup is simple, sound is rich, and the added features of being able to stream to the built-in speaker or connecting to another external speaker is just bonus. This is an easy recommendation.

    Nice sounding modern Vinyl player

I’ve always been wanting a Vinyl player for our home. I do still have my CD’s and subscribe to Apple Music, but once in a while, I want to listen to a Vinyl record. I just never pulled the trigger to get one because of our limited space in our town home, I did not want to purchase separate speakers for our home.

Setting up was simple, but then we were getting very faint sounds from the speakers. Upon reading the instructions, it states to not have the Record Player anywhere near other electronic devices. I initially had it placed next to our iPads charger, so I moved it across the room to an end table that had the perfect area footprint for the Victrola. Immediately the music started playing really loud and clear.

So I ended up getting the Victrola Eastwood Signature Hybrid record player. The built in speaker is what sold me and I wanted to see if it would be sufficient without having to invest in separate speakers.

Setting up was simple, but then we were getting very faint sounds from the speakers. Upon reading the instructions, it states to not have the Record Player anywhere near other electronic devices. Immediately the music started playing really loud and clear.

I bought two of my wife’s favorite albums (Ed Sheeran’s Equal and No Doubts Tragic Kingdom). This built in Victrola speakers sound amazing by themselves especially with these songs that we enjoy and love.

Like any typical record player, it’s pretty standard set up. You have the option to choose either Phono or BT (Bluetooth) sounds where you can play music from other BT devices from the Victrola. I tried to connect it to a Bt speaker and it was more of a headache to connect with my iPhone. The Victrola changes to the next song pretty seamlessly, although you do have the option to press Forward or Backward. There is also a BT Out option to other speakers. There is also a 3.5mm headphone Jack if you wanted to listen quietly in your home. To the right next to the needle, is the speed gauge where you can play your records at 33, 45 or 78 RPM.

Overall, it’s been a joy having a record player in the home and showing my children (ages 12 and 11) how they work and the noticeable sound quality difference to what plays on the iPhone. I’m now going to be hunting for some more LP albums to play on this.

Brings Legacy Vinyl To The Digital Age

This Victrola record player is a great choice for casual lovers of vinyl that want to listen to records wirelessly. It performs admirably and does a great job of bringing the legacy format of vinyl into the digital age. Connected to quality headphones or speakers, it produces warm and impressive sound.

This compact and versatile player is easy to use and place. It can be placed anywhere you have room, as long as it is near a power outlet. It has the capability to play over speakers built into the player, wirelessly over Bluetooth, or using cables. I really appreciate the ample connection options that Victrola has provided!

My personal preference is to use the Bluetooth transmitter to connect to a pair of reference quality over the ear headphones. The Bluetooth connection was rock solid, and I had no problem connecting and maintaining a connection. To share music with others, I was also able to easily connect to an external Bluetooth speaker. I found the sound quality of the Bluetooth connection to be excellent. It is virtually indistinguishable from a wired connection and superior to using the internal speakers. The sound quality of the internal speakers is adequate, but do yourself a favor and use quality headphones or external speakers, you won’t regret it. Records offer a unique sound quality and need quality sound drivers to really shine.

I also tested the player with the headphone jack and as expected, the sound quality was excellent. I won’t use the unit that way often because I don’t like being tethered to the player, but the headphone jack can be connected to any speakers that have a headphone audio input. There is also a pair of legacy RCA audio outputs on the back of the unit.

While not being marketed as portable, I think the small size makes the player easy to transport. The dust cover protects the player, but can also be removed to facilitate being placed in areas that have a tight fit.

Victrola put much of the engineering effort into the really important aspects of this player. It features a quality Audio Technica AT-3600LA magnetic cartridge that really makes a difference. There are better record players out there, but only for much more money. If you are looking for a nice entry level Bluetooth record player, look no further.

    Nice Phonograph!

The Victrola Eastwood Signature Hybrid Record Player is a nice unit and has some great features. Following are what I have found to be the pros and cons:

    PROS:

    - This is a nice looking record player, with dark wood (Espresso color) and a textured grey finish. It looks really nice on my TV stand under my mounted TV.

    - It is very easy to set up and operate.

    - I love the fact that I can connect it to my external Bluetooth Speakers via the Vinyl Stream Bluetooth Out feature. I have connected it via Bluetooth to my TV soundbar and subwoofer and also to an external Bluetooth portable speaker. Connecting it to a nice speaker or soundbar/subwoofer is where it really shines, as the sound of my vinyl is great when played on the Victrola Eastwood and paired to one of these devices. I have played multiple albums from different genres, loud and soft music, acoustic, male and female singers, etc. They all sound great!

    - You can also connect it to an amplifier as it has an RCA line out. You will need to purchase the RCA cord, but this will easily allow you to play it through your amplifier.

    - It also has a 3.5mm jack to listen via wired headphones, or you can also connect to any wireless headphones through Bluetooth from the record player.

    - The record player has the ability to play 33, 45 and 78 rpm records with a slide switch to select the speed and there is a 45 rpm adaptor included.

    - There is also a switch that allows you to select either manual or auto stop. This allows you to choose between the player automatically turning off at the end of the record, or continuing to run until you manually turn it off. I have mine set to auto and find this to be a nice feature.

    - It has a cue lever to raise and lower the tone arm slowly.

    - You can also use the record player as a Bluetooth speaker without playing vinyl. Just pair it to your phone or other Bluetooth playing device and you can play music from your phone through the record player speakers. Upon pairing, there are then controls on the record player that allow you to play/pause, skip forward or backwards, and change the volume.

    - The unit comes with a silicone slip mat on the turntable to reduce any vibration.

    CONS:

    - The only real con with this system is the sound of the built in speakers. Obviously, based on the small size the speakers have to be to fit into this unit, I wasn't expecting a big sound. The sound of the internal speakers was muddled, didn't have much bass, and with much volume it also starts to distort. However, as previously mentioned, by pairing it to an external Bluetooth speaker, you can get whatever type of sound quality you want based on the type and quality of the speaker you are pairing it to. Once paired with an external speaker, the built in speaker turns off. Since sound is important to most people who play vinyl, you may be disappointed if your only option is to play your music through the built in speakers. I highly recommend pairing to a good external Bluetooth speaker or connecting it to an amplifier and home stereo setup, as this will give you great sound.

    - Likewise, while the ability to connect using the built in speakers from your phone to stream music via Bluetooth is a nice added feature, if you hope to use this as your only Bluetooth speaker system, the sound of the speakers may not be what you are looking for if you want any kind of volume or like a heavier bass sound.

For my purposes, I really like the Victrola Eastwood, since I pair it with some external Bluetooth speaker options and get great sound. I would definitely recommend this record player in that type of setup.

For good sound you will have to hook up to a bass amp and 2 stereo speakers. It has a turntable to play vinyl records, a cd player, am/fm radio. plays cassette tapes, and best of all you can play your ipod. It has Usb ports, earphone and microphone jacks. It has the look of a 1940's radio.

    Perfect Simplicity

I love this unit for several reasons. It allows me to play my LPs, some of which are from my high school days and still in perfect condition, my CDs, tapes (YES, I'm "one of those people") AND/OR listen to my favorite radio stations all in one unit that doesn't take up a lot of space and has excellent sound quality. I don't like a lot of separate components or bells & whistles that I don't understand to start with. It's SO easy to use any of it's functions and I do - a lot!

    Audio system

the system is great so far. When I bought this for my husband for Christmas, when we open the box there was 1 of the feet missing. I contacted the manufacturer for a replacement. They said we don't have replacements, take back to the store for another one. When I went to buy this it was backordered till after Christmas, but they sent an email and said it was in. I just hope we did not get a return. My husband did not want to return it, so I guess we are one without a foot. I gave a no to recommend as I did not feel the manufacturer was very helpful. I am sure Best Buy would have been more than helpful, but I did not know how long it would be before we got a new one.

Don’t buy this record player this is the second time the product arrives defective. The first time I returned it to store and re-ordered, and picked it up today. I was think this was gonna be a 1 time thing, but it came back damaged at the same spot and looked dusty. I really think they repackaged the same item and gave it back time. Will be returning ASAP

    Good starting off point.

For someone who just got into collecting vinyl but not too serious about high fidelity audio or just wants to have a fun way to hear music this is good.

The speakers tend to fall apart at the high end of the volume setting and they don't grab highs and lows very well. And they aren't very loud. But it's fun to just sit in front of the thing and play some records.

I was a bit disappointed because I thought you could use the Bluetooth to transmit sound to another source. But it can only be used as a Bluetooth speaker, like if you sync your phone to it and listen. But I have it near my TV sound bar and run those red and white audio cables to it and it sounds great. Or you can use an AUX cable to use any other speakers.

As far as durability, I haven't a clue because this sits in the living room and I don't plan on taking it anywhere. It's pretty light and portable if you need to take it anywhere. Just be gentle with it like any other piece of electronic device.

Obviously the sound isn't going to sound as rich as a CD even if you run it through better speakers.

(I know, I know, it all depends on the quality of vinyl and from what sources the specific record was pressed from but overall) You lose a lot of bass. Even when I turn on Bass Mode on the sound bar, it's not good. but for the price I'm okay with it. I'm glad I bought it and I have so much fun using it. It's a good starting off point and maybe I'll invest in a better player in the future. But for now I'm good with this.

    Great for the price.

Great product for the price. It delivers as advertised. Takes a little time to set up but once in place it is super easy to operate. Had Geek Squad do the installation and the technician was very helpful in doing the set up. As other reviews have stated the clock is very small. The multi-colored lights are cool but make it hard for old timers like me to see the display. So I set it to use only the white light and it is now easy.

    Eventually I'll figure it out.

This unit has a great sound and the installation went quickly. The biggest issue (and hence the rating of only 4 stars) is the lack of a useable instruction book. The one that comes with the unit is extremely basic and there is not much online that is remotely helpful. If you have time to sit and tinker it can be figured out but my time is a bit more valuable than that. There is a question in the review here "Would you recommend this unit?" I answered "no" for the reasons just stated but that might seem a bit unfair or harsh.

    All Aroud Good Choice

Small box but big sound. Good reach for local FM radio stations. We found it good for listening during power outages since it runs on batteries also. Since it has an 'aux in' jack we can use it to hear our LP record player which has no speakers. We still have a big box of CDs which we love to listen to with battery power on picnics. All around good choice. The display is big enough and it is clear to read in any light.

    Insignia boombox a booming success!

Bought Insignia Boombox for playing CDs at trade show in the outback of New Hampshire. We weren't disappointed. Clear and crisp sound of the CD player in the field. Clear as a bell FM radio station pickup back at our accommodation next to a lake. Only problem was the two-prong connection for AC electric to play the radio provided difficulty by unexpectedly coming loose and disconnecting. This was corrected by using some tape to hold the cord connector onto the back of the radio. Had to do a little figuring on using for CDs. Played for hours at show and accommodation. All in all, a good value for the $ and type of use. Used it June 19 through 27.

New Boom Box for a Friend

This boom box was actually for my elderly friend. Overall she like the small size as it was easy to carry from one room to another. The ability to place batteries was a plus which she didn't have to carry the cord around the house. The sound was great for her as she stays in a one bed room. She enjoy the display as it was bright and the print on the display was easy for her to read. The only thing that she said could have been better were the buttons they were a bit small and prove to be a slight challenge to use when changing the station or changing a song from her CD.

I can take my music with me throughout my house without

distrubing my husband, who has cancer.

I bought an extra one for my great grandsons to learn how to speak Spanish...a wise investment that was is quite cheap. My great grandsons call me "MeMe".

    Adorable

This was perfect for the steampunk decor in my son’s room. Works great so far but I haven’t tried the record player yet. The only con I have about this product is that you cannot the power on through the remote. You have to actually physically do it at the item

Fun Victrola 8-in-1 and a true Classic

It's my pleasure to give my new Victrola Navigator 8 in 1 Classic Bluetooth Record Player with Turntable style and tone that is terrific. Brings back so many of my childhood and teen years listening to my 45s, 3-speed LPs, CDs and Cassettes, radio + so much more. The modern technology with a classic nostalgic design is perfect in my living room. Plus, it's a fun conversation piece when people find out I can listen to my old cassettes too.

A perfect gift for a music lover of all ages and so happy I purchased it for my birthday. Receiving it right after my birthday and enjoying (especially during the Coronavirus).

    Stereo radio

So far this has been a perfect addition to my home. Wish there were preset options for the radio but I guess that would potentially take away from the appearance.

    Great product overall

Love this!! I was a little disappointed because the description says it comes with an 8GB USB thumb drive, cleaning cloth and three replacement needles, but they were not in the box. Originally I had purchased just the turntable and that did come with the extra needles, etc. Wondering if someone had this before me and kept them?? Anyway, I do love it, great sound and able to listen to all of my old albums and CDs!! Would highly recommend!!

good once the remote got replaced

Considering the remote did not work at all even after putting new batteries in it 3 times, when I contacted the company they sent me a new one which is completely different than the one that came with my player. I would recommend that you check your inventory for wrong remotes. Now that it works properly, I really am enjoying it.

    Vintage

Works wonderfully as advertised. Had an awesome vintage look. Only issue I have with product is that it came with the top lid scratched with an indentation as though it were dropped. Other than that it deserves 5 stars.

Love listening to my old LP’s.

Have been very pleased with the unit. Easy to operate. The sound leaves a bit to be desired on the bass but then so did my original record player. Also wish the tone arm was fully automatic but at least the turntable stops when it reaches the end of the record.

    Love that it is compact.

I love this Victrola. Since its our first try at a record player its fine. However, the top will not close with a 33 record on it. And its not a big deal to do it by hand, but the needle does not automatically go back after record is finished, it will just sit there until you put it back manually.

    Mother loves it

I bought this as a birthday gift for my 83 year old mother and she loves the simplicity of it. She wanted a record player, but I thought the old style record player with the Bluetooth capability would suit her just fine.

    Nostalgic for vinyl

Has radio, CD player and phonograph. Love playing my old 33 and 45 rpm vinyl. Only thing missing is it is completely manual. No auto needle place or auto return at end.

    It’s versatile

I like the unit it functions well, however their app for my phone is too hard to get connected and requires you to plug it in to the unit at first to get it to work. Instead of just working with full functions via Bluetooth. Once you get that to work it’s not too bad. The sound is average and it being a DVD player means a lot can play on it. There is another annoying thing is when you put in the usb and are searching folders the folders are not what you named them. Instead they are a number and not in order. Too much to deal with when you’re driving.

    Perfect for what I need!

It's been MANY years since I went shopping for head units, mainly because stock systems are so great these days. However, I picked up a 1992 MR2 and it definitely needed modernized.

I was pretty surprised to see how much bang for the buck this unit is. It connects flawlessly with my phone and does a stellar job. I also like the fact that it has an actual knob. Many (most) do not these days.

    Super-happy with this one.

Great head unit, with a few set backs!

I bought this head unit because it was a lot of features you were getting for an awesome price. Sound quality and EQ are the best part about this head unit. It connects very fast via Bluetooth and the video quality on the h/u are great quality. The things that aren't the best are the phone call quality and connection. When a phone call comes in or is sent out it will connect the call 90% of the time, 10% of the time it will not connect and I will have to re-dial or answer on my phone itself. After the call ends if I am listening to music through Bluetooth the music takes 2-4min to re-connect and even then I sometimes have to press play on my phone before it starts to play again. Another con is the volume dial is very small and depending on how the dash kit sits it is a pain to get to, I had to purchase a remote on amazon to make it easier.

Also...if you add a backup camera to this unit be prepared to have a 1-2 second pause (blank screen) while it notifies you to "look at your surroundings before backing up", this only happens if your h/u had just started with the vehicle. This message and pause do not come up if your h/u has been on for more than 5min.

It is a nice h/u but it is frustrating when you need to make a call and it wont connect and your music wont re-connect after you have completed a call. Some are okay with these issues but it sucks when you are driving and can't really mess with anything. Hope things work out better for you!
