    Excellent mirrorless camera

This really is an amazing camera, with a lot of options. It was different to get used to, coming from using Nikon's. Still learning all the tricks, but so far, I love the feel, weight, image color and focus from this camera. The flip/touch screen is really awesome for different projects as well. I just got back from a trip to the PNW, and didn't mind bringing this along on long hikes!

    Another Great X Family Camera

I love the Fuji Ecosystem. I have 2 other Fuji X cameras (XT30 and XE3) and love the interchangeable lenses, film simulations, and the overall image quality. This version, while the "highest end" doesn't compromise on size and portability. Love it!

    Amazing all the way!!!

Amazing camera! If you are thinking about it, just go for it. The image stabilization makes a difference, specially if you like having manual lenses, it help a whole lot.

Aside from that the new filters are beautiful, camera runs smoothly and the sound of the shutter it’s just perfect.

The only downside that comes to my mind is maybe the grip, could have been wider, but nothing you can’t fix.

    Substantial Camera

Looked everywhere for the silver version of the X-T4 and Best Buy was the place of in stock. The camera has great image quality and has some heft to it. One of the few downsides is the battery compartment door feels extremely flimsy. Good thing it can be recharged directly from the camera.

    Great Fujifilm camera

I already had X-Pro3 when I bought the X-T4. In my opinion X-T4 is a much better camera and practical to use. I like everything about this camera. Seamless switching between still and movie mode is excellent. Battery life is amazing. The new flip screen is something that I have to get used to but I see it will be very useful. There is nothing that I don't like about this camera. This time Fuji has provided a great professional-quality camera strap with this camera.

Easily portable capable of images like the bigs!

The summary just about says it all. The only knock I could give it would be the low light performance. Higher ISOs can get a bit noisy. This said, the overall image clarity and quality all other times for the money are fantastic. For the money it’s definitely “bang for your buck”. I’ll put some sample images of photos taken with said camera!

    Satisfied purchase

Great purchase. One of the associates helped me out a lot too. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the kit lens (because of what I specifically needed to record/capture) but I was also able to purchase the 50mm 1.8 which all works great together. My ONLY drawback is that I needed to buy the adapter mount but again, it’s all a great investment.

    Fantastic camera!

As a photographer who was looking for something small and light for daily wear with the family I stopped and looked at this. Months of research led to this purchase. Fantastic little camera, and I love that I can stick it in a diaper bag to take on the go with my littles. HOWEVER, there is one thing that I don’t like. Proceed to a shoot that I thought I might let this one have it’s legs stretched. Put a flash on the hotshoe....AND IT GOT STUCK. Canon wanted $200 to remove the two. Thankfully I got an old lock picking kit and got them separated. Nowhere in months of research did I read about this problem. Just be aware about putting a flash on. Even if it’s canon brand. All around in love with this camera minus the crappy hotshoe.

    Excellent, compact mirrorless camera

The A6400 replaced an A6000, which I was very pleased with. I upgraded to the A6400 because of the advances in AF, mainly the addition of tracking and both human and animal eye focus. The animal eye focus feature does, at this point, require a simple online firmware update.

The pros with this camera are it’s compact size and light weight, its excellent Sony APS-C sensor, very usable EVF, very good low light performance, and overall fine image quality. That, plus the advanced AF features, make for a formidable little camera.

The downside is that it may be too small for larger hands, and definitely does not balance well with larger, heavier lenses. Although improved, Sony menus are not what I would call intuitive. The manual that comes with the camera is very basic, and really leaves much to the new owner to figure things out. Also, as with most mirrorless designs, battery life is relatively poor.

So, if you're looking for a carry camera that doesn’t require a padded shoulder strap because of its weight, and want the image quality of an APS-C sensor, the A6400 may be a perfect fit. Just expect to spend some time with the menus, and a lot of time online figuring out how to set it up so you can take advantage of its many features.

Perfect for beginners and what you want

My favorite purchase to date! I know it’s just a beginner camera, but I rarely ever leave home without it. The moments in life that can be captured are unreal. The parts of nature that no one else ever pays attention to: those are the things that light my heart on fire and this camera brings those pieces of time to a split second for me. This camera and all the lenses I’ve bought for it take those precious moments and capture them for me to hold onto. I love my camera and I’m sure one day I’ll upgrade but this one will always have a piece of my heart. Perfect for people starting out just like me and perfect for what you want in the beginning.

    Great Camera and Quality!

This is my second Nikon Camera and I love it! It is easy to use and offers a variety of features. My favorite thing about it is the ability to directly connect to my iPhone through WiFi so that I am able to get the photos immediately. This camera also has video which is nice, you have to have very steady hands for the video though (if not it easily appears shaky). The screen is touch screen which makes it easy to view and zoom in on photos. Also the ability to flip the screen in both directions is nice for times you want to maybe take a selfie! I love this camera and think it’s great! I am still learning some of the features.

Not reliable with WiFi nor Bluetooth

Got this camera and had to return it immediately, after investing hours trying to make the WiFi/Bluetooth Connectivity work.

I was so excited when I got home with my new camera. I went with this one because on paper it had everything I needed, which was mostly and aside from picture quality, the WiFi/Bluetooth capability.

The camera wouldn’t connect at all, although it did say it was connected. I was never able to observe the pictures on my phone, which was the main purpose.

After hours trying and dealing with the low budget app, Snapbridge, I gave up, returned it and got a Lightning to USB cable to just use my old non WiFi/Bluetooth camera.

Disappointed... I really wanted it to work.

    Good but not great

Camera is good. I like the grip and features. Not worth how much it is to buy.

    Second Sony mirrorless camera.

I had the Sony 6000 and loved it. I do a lot of hiking and take it on all my walks. It is lightweight and takes great photos. You can easily send the photos to your phone. I updated to the 6100 due to an unfortunate accident while hiking. I took quite a fall and the camera stopped working properly. I am. Very happy with the updated 6100

The Sony αZV-E10 (Model: ILCZVE10L/B) is custom tailored for vlogging, both in its controls and software, but it is also an extremely impressive still camera and is an outstanding piece of equipment, overall.

The Sony αZV-E10 offers a stellar array of features and functionality and excellent specifications. This mirrorless, interchangeable lens, APS-C sensor camera is terrific. It is a robust and flexible camera with outstanding hardware and excellent interchangeable lenses.

The αZV-E10 is compact in size and light in weight, making it easy and convenient to carry and use.

The Sony αZV-E10 vlog camera takes the best features and functionality of the Sony ZV-1 fixed lens, 20 megapixel vlog camera and incorporates them with the backbone of the Sony α6100 interchangeable lens, 24.2 megapixel camera. This new hybridized model is refined and customized with additional, specialized features for vlogging, delivering much of the best of both models.

The αZV-E10 sensor is a 24.2 megapixel, APS-C, Exmor CMOS sensor measuring 23.5 x 15.6 mm (not full frame). The αZV-E10 has powerful and outstanding Auto-Focus and Auto-Exposure functionality and offers vloggers and photographers complete exposure control with more than a dozen exposure modes, five focus modes, thirteen picture effect modes and seven creative style modes.

The αZV-E10 has an incredible array of digital imaging capabilities. The Auto-Focus system is fantastic; possibly the best available. With 425 auto-focus points, real-time eye AF (human and animal) and real-time tracking that genuinely performs as described and as expected, it truly excels, and exceeds most other cameras. Exposure control with the 1200 zone evaluative metering system which operates in center-weighted, spot metering and full-screen modes is absolutely outstanding. The αZV-E10 has Sony’s advanced image processor, the Bionz X, which is the underpinning of the excellent image rendition, with accurate color rendition, including skin tones.

The αZV-E10 image formats range through 14 bit (compressed) RAW providing for excellent post-production editing capability. The αZV-E10 shoots video at resolutions of up to 4k (oversampled from 6k), and offers a wide range of frame rates (allowing for a variety of slow or fast motion shooting), image sizes and compression schemes. Video functions also include multiple cinema profiles including HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) and S-Log3/2. The αZV-E10 includes a dedicated Still/Movie/S&Q button to shoot 4x slow motion video, or 60x quick motion.

The αZV-E10 also features a dedicated top panel button to control background blurring. This button instantly toggles between a clearly focused background, and a defocused, blurred background (bokeh effect). A unique new “Product Showcase” feature has been added for vloggers. One button depression toggles the feature which instantly shifts focus from the vloggers face to whatever object (product) is extended directly in front of the camera for close-up. Occasionally, this feature required a few attempts before it would shift focus to relatively small items.

Audio quality from the three capsule directional microphone on the top panel is excellent. Sony thoughtfully includes a “dead cat” (synthetic fur) wind screen which is helpful when shooting outdoors. The Multi-Interface Hot Shoe supports digital audio with external microphones, as well as flash units. There is also a 3.5mm input jack for an external microphone, and another 3.5mm output jack for headphones to monitor audio recording. The mike jack is behind a plastic door which candidly appears very delicate and feels as if it will break off quite easily.

I miss the built-in flash of the α6100. For still photography flash is essential in low-light conditions, but it is also extremely important in marginal light conditions and shadows where having fill-in flash is invaluable.

The αZV-E10 is equipped with an articulating 3” TFT, LCD touchscreen which rotates from the left of the camera body. While it is essential for vlogging, it is also valuable for low-angle shots and high-angle shots. The αZV-E10 also supports shooting video in vertical orientation. In addition to the red tally light on the camera body, the touchscreen illuminates a highly visible red border when recording, which is perfect for vlogging.

The only performance deficiency that I encountered was that of minor rolling shutter effects, particularly during fast pans in 4k, which is common with CMOS sensor cameras. Touchscreen functionality is still limited and is not available for the multilayer menus.

The αZV-E10 lacks the electronic viewfinder that I enjoy on the α6100. Although a viewfinder may not be considered a necessity for vlogging, it is extremely useful in both still photography and some videography, particularly when using long lenses. Handheld shooting with a telephoto lens benefits from the more stable shooting platform achieved when the camera is supported at three points including hands and face, with bent arms braced on the photographer’s body. This is particularly important when framing the shot, and in holding the frame. An electronic viewfinder (EVF) is also essential when checking or correcting focus and when manually adjusting focus.

If your intended use of the αZV-E10 is exclusively for vlogging you may not miss the flash or viewfinder, but the αZV-E10 is much more than a single-purpose vlogging camera. It is an incredibly powerful, flexible and competent digital imaging video and still camera.

A strap is included, but a rear lens cap for the kit lens and a body cap are not.

The memory card specifications for on-board image storage is SDXC UHS-I or II, V30, U3, C10. The αZV-E10 has 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth for file transfer, remote camera control and integration with the Sony GPVPT2BT Shooting Grip with Wireless Remote Commander, which is a versatile and useful accessory that I use for both handheld shooting and for tabletop tripod functionality.

The addition of the αZV-E10 to my gear locker has enabled me to undertake dual camera videos. I have both the αZV-E10 and the α6100 mounted to GPVPT2BT Shooting Grips. Both cameras can be stationary on their GPVPT2BT tripods, or one can be stationary with the other utilized handheld, and either can be easily and quickly transitioned between tripod and handheld.

With the customized controls and features which are tailored for vlogging, and the additional benefit of electronic image stabilization (not IBIS), the αZV-E10 is my primary camera for handheld shooting, while the α6100 shoots B-roll from its tripod.

The controls and software are very robust, with many options and settings which afford complete creative control over this very powerful, yet compact camera. The online documentation and help files are excellent and comprehensive. The PDF “Help Guide” is an impressive 577 pages.

The αZV-E10, is compatible with all Sony E-Mount lenses. The kit lens is the SELP1650, 16-50mm (35mm equivalent focal length 24-75mm), f/3.5 – 5.6, power zoom lens with Optical Steady-Shot (OSS) image stabilization which is further enhanced by the cameras digital zoom. Zoom can also be controlled with the dedicated zoom lever on the shutter button, and programmable zoom speed (range 1-8).

My new favorite lens to carry as my second lens is the outstanding Sony SEL70350G, 70-350mm, (35mm equivalent focal length 105-525mm), f/4.5 – 6.3, OSS zoom lens. With this excellent zoom telephoto lens and the kit lens, a great range of shooting environments are accommodated with only two, compact and relatively lightweight lenses.

The αZV-E10 is supplied with one NP-FW50 battery pack, which utilizes in-camera charging. An external battery charger, and additional battery packs are available as accessories. The in-camera recharge time is approximately a couple of hours, but battery life is excellent.

The αZV-E10 can run hot during lengthy video recording sessions. The internal thermal protection sensor shut down the camera after about 50 minutes of 1080p recording, and after about 30 minutes of 4k recording.

Sony Alpha cameras have proven themselves to be excellent, well-respected cameras. The Sony αZV-E10 is just such a camera.

I am genuinely enjoying using the αZV-E10. The feature set and exposure controls are so extensive and robust, that any videography / photography utilization is very well supported. In automated modes, the αZV-E10 is in virtual control of the photography and can be trusted to produce excellent images and videos of professional quality, with simplified, automated ease of use. The αZV-E10 will fire at 11 fps, bracket exposures and shoot with a 1/4000 sec. shutter speed. Low light shooting is excellent. The ISO standard/normal range is 32,000 and an expanded ISO range of an incredible 51,200 is available.

Video capabilities are beyond extensive, including Cinema Picture Modes. The customized vlogging controls, features and functionality tailor this camera for optimized vlogging.

The camera hardware seems to be high-quality. The lens mount is metal, and lens lockup is solid. The αZV-E10 body is plastic but is not fully dust and weather sealed. It is sleek and elegant, and feels good when handled.

The Sony αZV-E10 is really an excellent camera. It is extremely capable and produces excellent videos and photographs. I am enjoying the αZV-E10 immensely. The size, weight and outstanding features and technical capabilities of the αZV-E10 really make it an excellent camera for many applications, and render it the perfect, optimized vlogging camera. Of course I recommend this impressive camera very highly!

    Great Camera for Video Creators!!!

So I've been using the ZV-E10 for a few weeks now and since I also have the Sony A6400, I am relatively familiar with the core functions and user interface as the menu is exactly the same on both cameras.

I'm going to try and break this up neatly into different sections so you can skip to the part you're interested in. Let's get into it!

Usability - The ZV-E10 is extremely easy to use especially if you're just starting out. The camera has 3 main modes and will cycle through these modes at the press of a single button.

On the top of the camera you will see a button with a camera/video/S&Q icon. This is the mode button and will switch from taking photos to videos and also that buttery smooth slow motion setting (slow & quick). I think this is great because by default the camera is set up for automatic in each of these modes so if you're not familiar with manual settings of cameras, Sony has you covered here. Just press, select and shoot!

The ZV-E10 also has way less buttons to worry about with a simplified approach, I really dig it. There is a button for everything you NEED, and you can also customize a bunch of buttons to be shortcuts for your favorite features. So I think less is more here,,,,

Swapping out different lenses is also very easy to do with the press of a button and a twist of the lens, you're off to changing your entire outlook on what you can capture depending on the lens that you install. This is another great feature and is also what separates it from being an all in one point and shoot, which are great cameras but are limited in their capabilities.

Now even though I believe this camera to be great for beginners, it's also a great tool for intermediate to advanced level users.. I personally will be using this for B-Roll and a Second camera angle while shooting my YouTube videos. It's honestly perfect for that.

    Quality -

The ZV-E10 comes with Sony's 24MP Mirrorless Crop Sensor that is tried and true. The image quality is crisp and clean and performs very well in low light situations providing you are using the correct lens for low light situations. I also have the Sony 35mm f1.8 lens and if you're looking for a great all around lens that has exceptional low light capabilities as well as a walk around portrait lens to pair with this camera, then I highly recommend you pick up this lens. Its perfect size and capabilities will bring the ZV-E10 to life when it comes to that amazing background blur and excellent low light capability.

The video quality again just like mentioned before with photos is exceptional for a camera this small and light. If you're looking to start a YouTube channel or use it for social media, perhaps just as a second camera for B-Roll, then for the price and what you get, you can't go wrong.

Other things to note is the Auto focus is ROCK solid!! This comes with eye auto focus for both human and pets, in photo and video mode!!!! That's awesome especially because my A6400 does not have these features in Video mode. Another reason why I will be using this for video over my A6400.

Audio - There are 2 parts to this!

1- The onboard microphone and the onboard speakers. Just to be quick the onboard speakers are just good enough for you to hear what was recorded, but not good enough for you to tell the quality of what was recorded. Luckily Sony has you covered with a headphone port on the side of the camera which is an AMAZING feature in a camera of this price. This will allow you to monitor your audio levels while recording as well as playback your videos to hear the audio. This is a game changer! My A6400 doesn't even have this feature!

2- The other part of the audio is the On-Board Mic. On the top of the camera you will see this large perforated square and this is where the microphones are located. Now being that sony is marketing this to a vlogger type customer, they have specifically worked on this part of the camera and I can tell you that compared to my A6400, the audio is actually surprisingly good straight out of the camera. Of course you also have a microphone jack on the side of the camera to plug in an external microphone to get the best sound possible.

    Screen -

Now what everyone has been waiting for!! The new fold out screen is a new feature on a camera in this price range, and sooooo many people have been waiting for this! Especially content creators…. I have been using the A6400 and while I love that screen because it flips up and I can properly frame myself, I LOVE< LOVE >LOVE this new flip out/swivel screen. It's just nice and easy to operate and maneuver to get certain shots. I feel like all of the Sony cameras going forward should ( and probably will ) get this new feature. Now the screen itself is very nice and the colors are true to what your eyes see , and I generally had no problem with it until I took the camera outside. Using this camera outside in the sun was very difficult. There is a brightness option to increase the brightness to max brightness, however it was still difficult to see and being that the camera DOES NOT have a viewfinder, taking pictures with this camera is almost impossible in sunny bright situations. So it's obvious sony is aiming this camera at people who make videos over those who primarily take pictures. Just keep that in mind.

    Battery Life -

Okay so battery life is pretty good with this camera. I would say on average with what I get with my A6400, maybe just a slight bit better because it's newer and possibly has some optimization done to its processor. I'm just guessing here.

It's hard for me to give a battery life estimate on the camera because I use it a little here and a little there. I haven't used it constantly until the battery depletes, but I would say it's probably going to be good for most people, and if you're a power user you will already know to grab some spares to keep in your bag.

    Stabilization -

So while Sony is gearing this camera towards Vloggers, I would say not to count on the in body stabilization, as it is only electronic and in my testing doesn't really work that well.

In the days of using it I noticed that it has a significant crop factor ( zooms in on you ) to the point where it's very difficult to get your surroundings in the frame with you when shooting. I also noticed that when using it, it creates a small blur every-time a foot step is taken. To me the constant blurring of the person is worse than the slight shaking of the background with the electronic stabilization on. I prefer to turn off the Active Steadyshot stabilization which gives me a larger frame to shoot my video in as well as no blurring of my face when I'm walking. AND if you walk gently with the included 16-50 kit lens, you will be fine. Those who will be filming from a seated position or moving around minimally, such as panning shots, you will be completely fine with the steady shot set to standard which will turn on the steady shot in the lense that you're using. In my case the kit lens which has it built in.

    Sony Shooting Grip -

Now I want to throw this in there for those of you who are looking to VLOG with this camera or anyone who is looking for some type of control of the camera while holding it in one hand.

The shooting grip is surprisingly GOOD. I don't think I would have ever bought one but now that I used it, and with this camera, I can see the value in it. It makes holding the camera much more comfortable as well as giving you one finger control over the recording, shutter, and zoom functions of your camera using a low energy bluetooth technology. It's also great for when you find a seat to place the camera on a table in front of you to continue shooting your videos.

If you're looking to VLOG I would say to really give the Shooting Grip a look. You might just love it!

    Final Thoughts -

There's so much more to this camera, and if I sat here and wrote about it all, well it would take a looooooong time. I tried to structure this review and hopefully it will help you with your decision in purchasing a camera. I started with Canon and then used Sony, and fell in love with their cameras. There's something magical about them and I feel as if they inspire creativity in me. Maybe they will do the same for you!

    Perfect Camera For Content Creators

The Alpha ZV-E10 is the latest all new offering from Sony. As a budget vlog camera, with it's extremely generous asking price, abundant features and excellent quality, folks are in for a treat with this one. It's surprisingly lightweight and perfect for portability when not in use. The design is very similar to the previous ZV-1 model but with a few extra bells and whistles. Specifically this time around you have the ability to interchange lenses with ease and transform an already outstanding device into multipurpose powerhouse. As mentioned above this camera is tailored to vloggers with it's convenient flip out screen giving you selfie style viewing. As a beginner, one may feel overwhelmed by the plentiful settings and options so I recommend watching walkthrough videos online to give you a better understanding. However, if you're familiar with these types of cameras you should feel confident in your purchase. There is no built in flash so an extra attachment may be necessary, I didn't really have trouble capturing scenes in low light environments. The touch screen is just used for focusing which I would have liked to see other uses for. One of my favorite features though is the intelligent auto mode. This does exactly what it says, automatically adjusts the settings of your shot, which makes it easy for newer vloggers to get the best detail with no effort. I was very impressed to see high quality 4k video, clear crisp audio, as well as a setting to record in 120 hz making all of my videos ultra smooth and satisfying. And with that, if you download and install the imaging edge mobile app to your smartphone, you can easily transfer all of your photos and videos to your gallery within no time wirelessly. Overall you really can't go wrong here, Sony definitely came out swinging and dare I say hit a home run with the ZV-E10.

So who is this camera actually FOR?

So who is this camera FOR?

    - Sony E-mount

    - APS-C sensor (crop sensor)

    - fully rotating screen for “selfie” holding

    - Rec tally light and boarder (optional settings) to make sure you’re recording

    - powered zoom lens that works with sony vlog kit remote

    - easy switch to S&Q mode (Slow mo or time lapse) only 120fps slow motion though

    - Image stabilization (digital)

    - Face and eye auto detect focus and continuous focus

    - USB C charging AND webcam/stream option plug and play

    - On board mic is actually usable (especially with the supplied wind screen) . It's not gonna be great but you can use it in a pinch. More on this below

    - Headphone out jack!! THANK YOU SONY!

    - Face softening, one touch background blur, and creative style. These are not BAD, they’re just usually not practical to use. Basically bloat

    - battery is a bit smaller, which means you need some spares for long days or a charger.

    - no EVF (view finder)

Let me start by saying this is my 3rd Sony E-mount camera and officially gives me a “pro level big boy” a “smaller size high end shooter” and a “small travel size day to day shooter” that I can still trust to get good images and video with and all three use the same lenses and menus and accessories. If ever there was a good example of why you should stay in one ecosystem it’s sony E-mount. It allows you to grow and change without losing gear you already purchased.

For ME this meant getting the ZV-E10 over the ZV1. The ability to use my lenses I already had was a big push but I still needed a smaller vlog style camera for out and about days when I didn’t want to carry over 3,000 dollars of heavy equipment for a basic walk n talk. If you don’t have or plan to have more sony camera gear or lenses you may want to get the similar ZV-1 that does not have removable lenses.

So as I said, I’m not exactly new to Sony cameras and therefore, for me, it was pretty much business as usual when I opened that familiar orange box. I have the kit lens model so inside was the body and the 16-50mm powered zoom lens. Also inside is a strap, USB C charging cable and the usual paperwork. I charged the battery up and once it was full I started going over the menu and changing all the things I like to change and set in my Sony menu. Once I customized to my liking I started test shooting and thinking what uses I can get out of this body.

    SO WHO’S IT FOR?!!

I feel like the biggest question around this camera has been who is this for. It’s branded as a VLOG camera, and that’s cool, but really that’s just a word we throw around now because it gets the attention of youtubers and vlogers and the likes. But what it means is this is a simplified version of a really really good camera brand at a price that is reasonable for the basic, intro user. This is geared towards people who don’t really know how to shoot manual or use pro gear but they want better quality than an iphone video. That doesn’t mean people who DO know what they’re doing should pass on this. Like me, this is a great camera for pro use too and it’s basically the same guts as their high end lines. What it DOES do is give room for those newbies to grow and still be a useful camera as they learn and try to get off that auto setting.

If you are trying to up your VLOG game or you want to get better at shooting photos and videos or both, this is definitely the camera for you. If you see yourself growing and you’re ok buying more lenses and accessories for your camera, this is definitely the camera for you. If you think you’ll never buy another lens and you plan to use your camera once every couple months, maybe get the zv1 or a small point and shoot. The benefit to the ZVE10 more than anything is the e-mount. This will open your world to higher quality and an amazing range of good sony glass to get just the right image. In my opinion, that is worth the upgrade vs the V1.

So if you got this far, you’ve probably decided this may be the camera for you. So what can it do? A lot. Let’s start with the VLOG aspects since that is Sony’s target audience. Can you take this thing, out of the box, and start vlogging down the street? Absolutely. It won’t magically be awesome quality, but it will automatically already be better than stuff you see from phones, or low quality gear.

The on board microphone on this camera is actually really good. Like impressively good for an onboard camera. Usually I would say NEVER use the mic on a camera body for so many reasons, and the ZV-E10 isn’t completely different, but it actually can be used in a pinch and with a touch of work in post, you can have a good audio quality. At least for a youtube video. In reality, for me, I will use the onboard as a backup in case the main mic drops out, bad sound, etc. But if I was making a quick video for home use, I 100% would be ok with the on board mic, something I can’t say about any of my other Sony bodies. Throw the dead cat (wind filter) on and you don’t have to worry about wind noise either. I was hoping to shoot some video examples but I have run out of time but I’m sure there are examples on the internet somewhere to show you how the mic works. Here’s the best part though, as you grow and want to use a better mic you still can. With a mic input AND headphone out, you can use any other mic including a sony shotgun mount on the hot shoe or other accessories they offer and still be able to monitor in real time with the headphone jack. This really is an ALL IN ONE VLOG camera set up.

Image quality has been just as good as audio quality. For video, there is rolling shutter, this has been beaten to the ground, but here’s the thing; if you’re shooting video moving so fast that you see the rolling shutter, then you’re shooting the wrong way. Slow your movements, compose your shots, and use a lower shutter speed and you won’t have the dreaded rolling shutter issues you may have seen complained about.

Photos come out sharp and clean and the crop sensor really shows it’s skills over the older ZV1 which had a smaller sensor. The APSC sensor in the ZVE10 is the same as the 6000 series, one of sony's most respected line of camera bodies, and when I put on some higher end lenses, I was able to get just as good shots with this smaller camera as I can with my 6600. A Sony 50mm f1.8 performs amazing in controlled situations and I shot portraits that I would still be willing to show to clients. That’s saying something for a budget friendly VLOG camera!!

VLOG style shooting was just as easy to use, and the screen flipping around to “selfie” mode was very useful. I have the Sony remote I THINK they now call “VLOGER KIT” but it’s a bluetooth remote and small tripod with some button controls. This includes zoom control that works with the kit lens’ power zoom and the record button for video or photo, all at your fingertips. There is even a custom button. If you’re serious about your VLOG work and you need a good handle but can’t afford an expensive gimbal yet, you should look into the sony remote, it’s really useful and Best Buy also sells it. One last thought on my VLOG test, the REC tally light was useful but I eventually decided to turn off the red border on the display because it felt like too much and was a little distracting. Also if you crank the stabilization settings, you will crop in a considerable amount. So you may want to consider using medium or none and fix any shake later in post production where you have more control over crop and the likes. Also the stabilization is digital, so essentially it is just doing what your post processing software is doing anyway but with less control in camera.

I really like what Sony is doing with this Z-V series and I don’t think this is so much an update to the ZV1 as much as a second option in the same class. They are both great cameras with different features based on your needs. If you found yourself agreeing with me through this excessively long review, then you probably want to get the ZV-E10 but if you think that sounds like too much, go for the V1, sure. But remember they are about the same cost, if you see yourself growing in this field and want to really get involved in cameras and shooting, then get the E10. You’ll have an amazing starter camera that will grow with you for years and years. Or if you’re a pro level shooter and looking for something small and cheap that you can bring around but still want your pro options, this is also great and will work with all that glass and accessories you already spent money on!

    Insanely good mirrorless camera.

I've been taking pictures dating back 37 years to an old Nikon F3. I've recently gotten into videography and this little camera was too good to pass up. The price is extremely attractive and the Vlogging features along with the ability to be used as an interchangeable lens camera for photography seemed too good to be true. While it lacks many handy on-board controls for setting changes like a higher-end mirrorless or DSLR cameras might have, that is not the point of this camera - and I found, with a few settings in the quick menu, I didn't really miss them. Once you get it set up with a few personal changes to the custom buttons, this little camera can punch WAY above its weight class.

    - Image/video quality:

The ZV-E10 uses the same APS-C sensor that's used all the way up the A6--- line. With the exception of a standard Sony weakness for rolling shutter when taking videos and panning quickly or shooting very fast moving objects, the image and video quality are excellent. I was able to grab very high quality still images and stunning video that held up to post processing. 4K/30p video with log profiles and 8-bit 4:2:0 recording is certainly more than good enough for a blogger starting out and even held up well for getting a surprisingly clean key for green screen effects. I would have loved to see something like 10-bit 4:2:2 output over HDMI for the very best output quality but that really is asking a bit much in this price range.

This camera is the first tool in my starting toolkit as a vlogger. Let me tell you what I was able to do: Within minutes (literally less than a hour of testing!), I was able to take sharp video in selfie mode, test product mode (which isn't the kind of video I'll be taking but wow it works well to automatically switch focus from the presenter to a product and back), switch lenses and take 4K video of birds in the trees out the window into my backyard, attach the camera to my laptop and toggle the menu item for USB streaming and have an instant 720p webcam on my laptop for Zoom and OBS Studio. If you're worried about the resolution of the USB stream (I thought I was) don't be. The quality of the image is good enough to upscale to 1080p and, when compared to the output of a high-end 1080p-native webcam, still came out looking much better. If you want more pixels you can get an inexpensive video capture adapter to plug the HDMI output from the ZV-E10 into a USB port on your laptop and stream up to a glorious 4K.

The on-board microphone is incredibly impressive. No other on-board microphone sounds this clear for all around video. The clip-on windscreen is also a nice touch. To be honest, I immediately went to an external microphone plugged into the mic jack for flexibility but the point is I didn't have to to get some impressively clean audio even outdoors.

    Kit lens:

The included 16-50mm (24-75mm equivalent) kit lens is more than capable. It's compact yet manages a good wide-to-telephoto range that will keep a lot of users happy without having to swap. But the point is that you CAN swap. Focus is fast and nearly silent, so there's no hint of focus hunting or noise on your video. Zoom is loud and will be captured but I don't tend to zoom while I'm recording. If that's something you need to do, swap in a different lens with a manual zoom and go.

    Battery life:

It's not a big battery, but I was able to go a fully day of on-and-off shooting on one charge - but barely. I did invest in a power adapter that uses a dummy battery that plugs into the wall for longer video sessions, but the camera will also charge via USB when streaming. USB charging doesn't seem to fully keep up with power draw, but it will get you a few hours.

For my personal needs of taking a small camera along with me for everything from snapshots to getting amazingly high quality video on the go, the ZV-E10 could not be more perfect. My big DSLR hasn't come out of my bag since I got the ZV-E10 and it probably won't. I stream virtual performances for a local community theater using OBS Studio, do headshots for the theater and wildlife photography (thanks to a longer zoom lens I got) and am starting up my own (very small) YouTube channel - all with the same camera. I could not possibly be happier. I can't possibly recommend it enough unless you're doing high quality 4K broadcast footage... and even then I'll bet the ZV-E10 is up for doing your B-roll at a minimum. You won't do better without spending quite a lot more money.

    Almost everything I wanted

So... why did I pick up the ZVE10? Wouldn't my phone camera be enough? Probably. But I wanted the ability to have a more professional setup for some creative content that I plan on recording and some vlogging on outings, and hopefully international traveling in the future. It also had to be portable, light, and customizable.

It had been a while since I had a dedicated camera for photos and videos; the last was an old DSLR a few years ago that I had to sell to pay for school supplies. So when the ZVE10 came out, I knew that I had to give it a try and compare it to the ZV1.

So wait... hold up... you have the ZV1 at hand and wanted the ZVE10 too? Why? To give you a solid answer, I wanted to compare the use cases when choosing one over the other and why the ZVE10 won me over. Here's my breakdown of the ZVE10 as someone "new" to the mirrorless camera scene:

    - Product showcase setting: probably the biggest game-changer against all other cameras out there. Once turned on, the camera can automatically change focus from the subject to the closer object, which was always the issue with other cameras. This was a feature that I desperately needed when doing creative content and needed to showcase the tools I was using.

    - Rotating 3" LCD touch screen: other cameras had a stop screen view which the dead cat would have blocked. It is perfect for taking high and low shots. I also like that the screen frame turns red to notify that it is recording

    - The color profile is top-notch

    - The kit lens (16-50mm) is a great starter lens for someone new to the camera world. honestly would probably be my default lens for now

    - E-Mount: Switching lenses is easy (although the lenses can end up being heavier than the camera body)

    - A much better grip than the ZV1

    - Dedicated ON/OFF switch (on the ZV1, it can be hidden when you have the dead cat on)

    - Better video processing

    - For the price point, the image quality is superb

    - Stills are great even though this is primarily for vlogging, I use the Sony E50mm/F1.8 OSS for up-close still and it's flawless

USB streaming (720p), great for streaming and conference calls

    - Clear Image Zoom

    - Dedicated background blurring button

    - Audio quality is crystal clear and even better with the dead cat to reduce wind noise when shooting outdoors

    - 3.5mm input jack for external mic and headphones for recording

    - No sensor stabilization

    - Rolling shutter could use a lot of improvement, not a big deal on a tripod, but if you're shooting video while walking or doing anything in action, you'll notice the difference during 4k. Which I've read is pretty common with CMOS sensor cameras, so it's nothing new

    - Camera menus are uninspiring (this is across the board with all cameras, so if you haven't used a DSLR before, it can get confusing)

    - No built-in flash would need a dedicated external flash for low-light settings.

    - No electronic viewfinder

    - LCD touchscreen has very limiting functions

    - No, rear lens cap for kit lens or body cap (probably my biggest grip in terms of hardware provided)

    External gear I recommend getting:

    - Sony GP-VPT2BT Bluetooth Shooting Grip with Wireless Remote Commander. Although the grip on the ZVE10 is a big improvement to the ZV1, the remote makes recording and shooting a lot easier. I love that it is also a tripod and easy to carry.

    - As for lenses, I'm still exploring but the kit lenses and Sony E50mm/F1.8 OSS are pretty good to start

So that's all great and all, but what's the final verdict? Personally, as I plan to expand in this field, learning about the full capabilities, changing lenses, and taking amazing stills, the ZVE10 is perfect for me. But if I wanted something more pocketable for travel, I'd probably take the ZV1.

Overall, if I had to sum up, if Sony ZV1 and Sony a6100 had a child, ZVE10 would be it.

Great Camera for Beginners and Experienced Alike!

This is a very difficult review to write. Not because the Sony Alpha ZV-E10 Mirrorless Vlog Camera with 16-50mm Lens is a poor camera, (it most certainly is NOT a poor camera), but because I am having difficulty in determining from which angle I want to approach this review…from that of a vlogger, (which is why I got it), or from the view of a photographer, (which was the secondary reason I jumped at the opportunity to get this camera). Since I was looking for a vlog camera, I will write the review from that perspective. But since vlogging does indeed involve photography (and I am not a professional photographer in any sense of the word), there will be times the worlds of vlogging and photography intersect in this review.

Out of the box, the ZV-E10 comes with the “E PZ” 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS zoom lens, which is a Sony e-mount lens, AC adapter, rechargeable battery, shoulder strap, and a windscreen. The ZV-E10 is an interchangeable lens camera. I have to point out that I also got the Sony Vlogger Kit and the Sony SEL50F18 E50mm, F1.8 OSS lens.

To be quite frank, like most vloggers I was comfortable with using my smart phone as the primary means to film vlog videos. After all, a selfie-stick and it’s show time. But I soon came to realize how extremely limited my options were with that type of setup. So when I began to explore the ZV-E10, I was a bit intimidated. This is not a one-setting-does-it-all camera. But Sony put together an absolutely amazing online PDF user’s manual which made the learning curve quite minimal. In fact, it is to their credit that they were quite intuitive to the many questions users might have, and subsequently supplied quite an easy-to-search, easy-to-understand format. They deserve 10 stars for this alone.

I spent the first evening just going through the menu options, and test shooting a few photos to get a feel of the camera. The first thing I noticed was how easy it is to switch from still photos to video mode… just a push of a button. There are over 30 different menu screens with tons of options to choose from on each menu item. But again, anticipating that many beginners would purchase this camera, there is what they call “Intelligent Auto” shooting mode which does all the work for you. In my experimentation with the ZV-E10, I found this mode was able to handle 90% of all my shooting needs. With a quick read of the appropriate section in the aforementioned user’s manual, it was quite straightforward to get through the other 10%.

Now this leads me to this point. Because the ZV-E10 is not a simple cell phone vlogging tool, it would have been foolish to get it for a simple point-and-shoot vlogging camera with the intention of doing all the work later using a computer software program. This is a sophisticated camera, and it is well worth ALL the effort to learn the different controls and settings to take care of all the “hard work” upfront.

Even though I spent the first evening exploring the camera, I felt compelled to go outside and take a few night shots. I had heard that the ZV-E10 is a very good low-light camera, and I wanted to see what it can do. I live in a rural setting with very little light pollution, and I have been amazed at the number of stars I have been able to see with the naked eye. But nothing prepared me for what I was about to experience with the ZV-E10! As you can see by the photos, well, they tell all the story that needs to be told! I was dumbfounded and amazed by this camera’s ability. And this is a good spot to point out that the Sony ZV-E10 is a 4K camera, which makes for extraordinary results!

The next day I decided to try it out in the brightness of a sunny day. Using several of the camera settings, I was again amazed at the clarity and brilliance of the ZV-E10’s performance.

But for the important part (to me)…the vlogging aspect. As I stated earlier, I also got the Sony Vlogging Kit as well as the additional lens…both of which I put to use. The vlogging kit comes with a wireless remote shooting grip (as well as a 64GB memory card). This was quite handy since the ZV-E10 itself does not come with any memory card at all. The shooting grip has five function controls: 1. Photo mode 2. Movie mode 3. Background Defocus mode 4. Zoom mode, and 5. Lock mode. The lock mode is a lifesaver as it keeps you from inadvertently messing up a shot by switching settings…that is, once you have the remote set, you lock the settings, and you’re ready to shoot. IMPORTANT: The shooting grip connects to the camera via Bluetooth. In order to set it up, you have to go through a pairing process. I was unable to get the two to connect, and was really super disappointed that Sony would produce such a poorly designed device. BUT THEN…after CAREFULLY rereading the instructions, I discovered you must first go to the second screen of the “Network” menu and make sure the “Bluetooth Rmt Ctrl” is set to “On.” Worked like a charm after that!

As I walked around downtown, doing test vlogs, I intentionally put myself in various situations. From crowded stores and restaurants to the quietness of a bookstore. I was a bit concerned about the background noise that might be heard when I was recording in the crowded situations, and was looking forward to reviewing these when I got home. I also experimented with several different lighting scenarios from full outside sun to low-light interior settings. I made full use of the shooting grip during these practice situations. Here is what I discovered.

In every single scene, the video was extraordinary. This is indeed a truly versatile low-light camera. Without making any adjustments (using Intelligent Auto mode), I was able to make sudden changes in different lighting conditions with very few adverse affects on the video quality. There was a bit of noticeable transition as I went from bright outside to low-light interior and vice-versa, but it would be the same for any camera under similar conditions, so this is most certainly not a negative. One of the neatest things (IMHO) is what they call “Product Showcase Setting.” This lets you hold up a product you are showcasing and it automatically focuses on the product while defocusing the background. This lets you NOT worry about stopping and having to focus on the product and then refocus on yourself. It worked in every single instance.

The audio (using only the onboard microphone) was at times difficult to make out, but this was only in those situations where there was a tremendous amount of background noise and chatter. I was still able to hear my own voice, but not as clearly as I could under low-noise locations. The supplied wind filter worked quite well and eliminated almost all wind noise. However, I was surprised that any time I used the “Zoom” function while recording video, it was distractingly noticeable, and interfered with the main audio. It made the lens sound clunky.

I was able to connect the audio to my podcast recorder and craft some crazy great sound effects as well as amazing overall sound quality.

The next “test” came with the SEL50F18 E50mm, F1.8 OSS lens. I was able to quickly and effortlessly change lenses on the ZV-E10. Just a push of the button, a little twist, and off comes the lens. Then line up the dots (white dot on the lens to the white dot on the camera body), snap into place, a quick twist and it’s ready to go. How truly easy changing lenses on this camera turned out to be! Again, thank you, Sony!

    The Final Analysis:

Out of the box, the Sony ZV-E10 is ready to go, UNLESS you don’t have an appropriate memory card, then you will have to buy one. There is no onboard memory storage. When the camera is set to Intelligent Auto mode, you truly are ready to go. I SERIOUSLY recommend the Sony Vlogger Kit to make vlogging a lot easier. Although the camera does have image stabilization, stepping up and down curbs, stairs, and rocky terrain does tax this ability a bit which is greatly amplified when simply holding the camera in your hand, and not using the shooting grip included with the vlogger kit. If you are going to invest in the ZV-E10, then by all means spend a little extra and get the Vlogger Kit.

The Intelligent Auto mode is not the answer for ALL shooting conditions, so you absolutely must become familiar with at least the basic focusing functions of the camera, such as ISO settings, f-stops, etc. There is a small learning curve to understanding how these settings affect shots, but as I said earlier, the results are well-worth the effort. I emphasize this as there were a few instances when the Intelligent Auto actually interfered with a good shot, especially in nighttime shooting. But I was able to overcome this by being able to make manual adjustments to the camera settings.

    A modern a6100

There are no dials, but a single button for photo, video and S&O. It takes a little bit to get used to, but once you do, it's totally fine to get into the manual modes and controls. The photo quality is spot on, have yet to try out the video. I wanted to pick this up for the articulating screen (still has the 3 second self timer when in "selfie-mode" for pictures which I really like), the usb c, unlimited record time with software stabilization in-post using metadata. Overall, very happy with the quality, fit and finish of the camera. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a modern a6100 hybrid.

Sony Quality is phenomenal in many areas of electronics since 1972 (for me since the Vietnam war). Loved the Sony branded and Marantz equipment (Marantz was owned by Sony at one time).

I'm at a loss for words. So i'm this kind of indecisive person. I want the canon g7x mark iii then im like hmmm i havent tried sony. crossed reviews for weeks and could not come up with an answer.

until i read a comment that said JUST DO IT.

so like the programmed mind tends to do, OBEY.

I got it at a low price since the charger was missing but flex for me I unknowning had a charger at home and i could just use the usb if if i really had to.

    still testing out the camera.

this review was based on the experience.

It's okay if you don't have the money to buy the full brand new one. I took the chance and ended up getting a good deal.

I'm starting to like going to BB versus that other place online.

Support your locale brick and motars! we need them! where else are you going to get the best buy? my whole childhood would be ruined

Not just only a vlogging camera.

This camera is a beast of a camera for a “point and shoot camera” category. Having myself a Sony A7RIII and a RX100 VII this ZV-1 camera does not disappoint. Since this camera is very similar to the RX100 I may be comparing in this review one which each other. But first I want to thank Sony for providing a camera with fully articulated screen (Sony please provide this for all your future cameras for now on). For the money you are paying, this camera has the auto focus system of their most expensive full frame cameras which is the best in the market in my opinion. The camera body is made of plastic but does not look or feel cheap. It did not come with a wrist strap I know many people do not use them but for this type of camera that is very small I recommend buying one and use it.

This camera was design for vloggers in mind now with the fully articulated screen is better to record yourself. There are a few drawbacks regarding the screen. First you cannot see the screen if you are using polarized sunglasses. If you are going to record yourself using this camera, make sure you are using non-polarized sunglasses. The screen like all Sony screens for all their cameras is a touch screen that only works for focus, and focus tracking. It does not work to navigate thru menus (I hope that Sony implements menu navigation using the touch screen in future generations).

The ZV-1 camera offers some nice features for vlogging:

    1. Skin tone feature, this will smooth your skin of your face to reduce wrinkles.

    2. It has a built-in neutral density filter to reduce the amount of light hitting the sensor during video if you are recording outside. With this you shall be able to reduce the shutter speed.

    3. Background Bokeh option will soft blur the background while maintaining your face in focus. It has a dedicated button for this; however, you can achieve this by using the lens at 24mm at F1.8 aperture.

    4. Product Showcase, if you review products on YouTube this camera will certainly is a most for you. This feature will quickly focus on the product if you locate the product in front of the camera. Long gone are the days when you put a product in front of the camera and have to say, “lets wait for the camera to focus on this”. This feature work fast and smooth is impressive. One thing to mention is that when I was testing this the eye autofocus no longer works, it transitions to face autofocus. Also, make sure when you use this feature the camera focus at your face all the time if for some reason when you are recording yourself and the camera see your hands while you are doing expressions the camera will try to focus at your hands because your hands are closer to the camera than your face.

    5. It comes with picture profiles in case you want to adjust colors in post I usually do not use this but is there if you want to use it.

    6. Records in 1080p 24fps, 30 fps, 60 fps, 120 fps also records at 4K, 24fps and 30 fps.

    7. It comes with a microphone input jack in case you want to use your own microphone for audio. The in-camera audio I believe is pretty good in my opinion. The camera came with a dead cat microphone cover that you attach to the camera hot shoe to reduce wind noise if you are recording outside.

    8. Image stabilization.

I know there is more to vlogging for this camera. The list is long but those are some of the main features of this camera offers. If you are going to use this camera mostly for vlogging I recommend the “Sony Vlogger Accessory Kit, product# ACCVC1”.

Now, what about the photography aspect of this camera in case you are wondering if it is good for it.

This camera comes with a 20.1 Megapixel 1” sensor, similar to the RX100 series. The lens is a 9.4-25.7mm which is 24-70mm equivalent in full frame, with an aperture of F1.8 / 2.8. You can only use the F1.8 aperture only at 24mm equivalent. More than 24mm it will transition to F2.8 aperture which is typical for zoom lens. Sony said that the color science has been improved in this camera compared to previous generations. From what I saw there is a difference but to me is minimal, to me the colors on Sony latest cameras are great.

You have the option to save pictures as RAW and/or JPG. If you are a person that want to take advantage of all the quality and dynamic range that the sensor can give you use RAW format, if you want a quick picture you can share with friends use JPG format. You also have the option to save both formats to the SD CARD. RAW format is an unprocessed file (more like a develop negative from the old film days) and you need a RAW file editor program to process them, this can be Photoshop, Lightroom etc. I usually edit all my RAW pictures using CaptureOne Pro. At the time of this review the RAW format for the Sony ZV-1 was not supported. It usually takes a few months for CaptureOne to provide support for new cameras. This is typical, but if the sensor is like my RX100VII the dynamic range shall be pretty good. Not as good as full frame but very close to APC sensor cameras.

I’m pretty pleased with the quality of the pictures I got with this camera. While testing the camera I took a picture that I really liked and printed a 12” x 16” on my Canon Pixma Pro 10. See picture sample. The detail is there, I am pretty happy with the results of the print, and I am going to hang it in the wall.

Regarding low light performance I will say is ok. Anything above 1600 ISO is going to look a little bit noisy. However, having a F1.8 aperture at 24mm always helps.

The only drawbacks that I experience regarding photos is that to see the screen in direct sunlight you must set the screen brightness to “sunny weather”. Having an electronic viewfinder would be better for taking pictures under direct sunlight which this camera does not have. My RX100VII have an electronic viewfinder however the RX100VII does not have a hot shoe for a flash which the ZV-1 has. I was wondering if Sony will provide in the future an optional electronic viewfinder that you can connect to the hot shoe like the Canon M6 Mark II. That would make a lot of people happy. The lack of a viewfinder would not affect the picture quality of the photos but would give you more flexibility and a would make it easier to take pictures under certain situations.

Regarding battery life make sure you buy a few extra batteries because the battery wont last long. It will consume more battery during video than with pictures in my opinion. My recommendation is to always go with original batteries from Sony. The camera did not come with an external battery charger, to charge the battery, the camera came with a micro USB cable that you connect to the camera and charge the battery internally. Sony also sells an external battery charger if you are interested.

Conclusion, the ZV-1 is an excellent camera for vlogging but not just for vlogging it can also create great looking photos under good lighting conditions. It has one of the most advanced autofocus systems in the planet. Its small, lightweight, and very versatile. I definitively recommend this product.

    Sony ZV-1 camera system

Sony Digital Camera ZV-1 with Sony GP-VPT2BT Bluetooth remote/tripod.

The Sony ZV-1 along with the Sony GP-VPT2BT is ideal for Vloggers and other context makers. This camera system is equipped to transfer your movies to your telephone, computer. The excellent quality of video and sound make this system a must have for Vloggers. The 20.1 Mega pixel pictures are top notch. The 24-70 MM zoom is minimal, would have liked to have 150 or higher max zoom level.

The camera is completely adjustable; however, you would need to go online and download the large PDF file and read through it. I did not have any problems setting up the camera and taking movies and pictures.

The Sony GP-VPT2BT is a must have accessory. This unit comes with a button battery. Set up is easy following the enclosed directions. The remote also opens to a tripod. The remote has an on/off switch. You can push a button and turn the camera around 360 degrees. With a push of another button you can tilt the camera up and down. There is a movie button and a photo button. You also get a rocker switch for zoom.

The Sony ZV-1 does not come with a carrying strap or bag.

I would recommend this camera to family and friend.

    Cool looks with some flaws

Purchased this "beauty" because I am an Nikon user since the 70's and liked to try the Nikon's mirrorless technology. Also purchased the Nikon FTZ adapter in order to use some of the compatible lenses I own. For once I have to say that the stock lens included in the kit (16- 50) works very well for what it is. Using the FTZ adapter I was able to check the camera with my 16 - 85 G ED and the possibilities are limited only to my creatibity. The bad news, since the mirrorless system exposes the sensor each time to swap a lens the risks to get dust are out there. I swapped lens once, carefully and in a close room without a breeze, sadly, photos started to show dust since then. For a test, went back to the original lens but still the same, not worse. The final disapointmen came when I learned that this body does not have electrostatic sensor cleaner so you need to clean it yourself, that is not always a good idea. Won't recommend this camera unless you're going to leave the stock lens always there.

    Nikon F/C

This camera takes great pictures, even in low light. I bought it as a backup to my Nikon Z6 II and I am shocked on how good the pictures look. Shoots pretty fast and the clarity and sharpness is off the charts good. I used it at my nieces wedding and even the wedding photographer was shocked on how great the pictures looked. Old school looks but easy to dial it in and get great shots, looks wise looks like the film cameras of old but with the digital benefits. Once you put battery in and and buy the grip, it handles more like a DSLR, and can be used with one hand.

    Small Beast

Is this the 1st review ever for this camera on BB?

This is the perfect beginner camera! Honestly for a crop sensor it's pretty darn good! I wish Nikon had released this with a FF sensor, it would make it the perfect camera. The vintage look is lovely.
