Immerse yourself in the adventure with this Audio-Technica gaming headset. The detachable smartphone cable lets you take this headset wherever you go, and the leather headband and ear pads make it comfortable for long sessions. Use the 6-inch boom mic on this Audio-Technica gaming headset to stay in communication with other gamers.
Look, you want a gaming headset, right? Well for this price and being an Audio-Technica product, you know you're getting something worth your money. The ear cushions are great but not like the ones I am used too, for the M50x. Mic quality is NOICE. and these have their own headset splitter so I was happy about that too. You won't regret getting these!

Meet the unrivaled, everyday noise canceling headphone for people who want to keep it simple. Hesh ANC is engineered with just the right amount of added features to make your life a little easier without a lot of additional technology that you might not need.
The Skullcandy - Hesh ANC - Over the Ear - Noise Canceling Wireless Headphones is Skullcandy’s budget or as Skullcandy calls it “everyday” ANC headphones with the Crusher ANC as its top model and the Venue ANC in between.
Being its most affordable ANC headphones, it is expected that build quality is plasticky. But unlike the Venue, the Hesh ANC has a rubbery texture to compensate for it. The headphones are foldable so it occupies less space when not in use. However as another cost cutting measure, it does not have a hard shell evo case, it only has a pouch which is not really a big deal for me. The good thing about the pouch is that there are compartments for its usb-C charging cable and 3.5mm cable for wired listening.
It boasts of a battery life of 22 hours which definitely lasts more than a day. I haven’t really tried the 22 hours. But since I’ve received my unit yesterday, I have been using this headphones which came with 80% power and so far it’s been holding up. This headphones unfortunately has no battery indicator and I am just relying on my Android phone’s battery life measuring tool.
And since I’ve been using this the whole day, the headphones has a snug fit and it quite comfortable thanks to the memory foam ear cuffs and also the cushion in the bar on top. Furthermore, sound isolation is already good. And with ANC turned on by default, it gives good noise cancellation. I always use my kitchen exhaust as a benchmark since I seldom ride on a plane. And the Hesh ANC is just slightly below the top rated headphones out there.
It has four mics for phone calls. And I’ve tested it for phone calls. Call quality is good but not that good. Still a strong performer. Ambient mode here is also good but not great. And if ANC is off, battery life can be extended up to 30 hours AFAIK.
Lastly it has forty mm drivers to deliver a decent sound signature Skullcandy is known for. Mids and highs are IMO on the right levels. Bass is slightly elevated which I like but not to the level of the Crusher series and definitely louder compared to the Venue which has minimal bass. Unfortunately, this headphones do not have an app wherein you can control eq settings. But being a budget model, this is kinda expected. But it does have Tile integration like most wireless Skullcandy devices.
For those wanting a decent but affordable pair of ANC headphones, the Skullcandy Hesh ANC is a high recommend.
Jan 20, 2021 23:06--- SETUP ---
The setup for the Skullcandy Hesh ANC headphones is quick and simple. Upon unboxing, turn it on and your bluetooth device will recognize it. Pair it, and you are ready to enjoy.
--- FEATURES ---
The key features of the Skullcandy Hesh ANC are: 4-mic digital active cancellation, up to 22 hours of battery, rapid charge (10 min = 3 hours), built-in Tile, over-the-ear fit, collapsible for storage, call/volume control, and smart assistant activation (ex. Siri).
--- PERFORMANCE ---
These headphones are great at what they are supposed to do: actively cancel noise. If you’ve never used noise-canceling headphones (ANC), this is a great pair to get started with. My wife is a singer/vocal coach. As she was practicing and warming up, I put on the headphones without even listening to music and I couldn’t hear her even though she was in the next room. I walked over to her while wearing the headphones. Being right next to her, it sounded like she was very far away. Once I turned on my music, I couldn’t hear her at all. I wanted to test these in another loud environment, so I went to my gym where I was sure to find people grunting, weights hitting the floors, and machines whirring. As promised, the headphones actively canceled all noise and I was able to enjoy my movies while working out on an elliptical. With a quick charge of 10 minutes giving me up to 3 hours of use, these are now my headphones of choice for the gym in case I forget to charge them overnight.
--- EXPECTATIONS ---
The product exceeds my expectations. When searching for headphones, there are extreme audiophiles who want total and complete control over minute details of their sound. These are not that. The box itself says “wireless simplicity with noise canceling.” It is in that simplicity that these headphones surpass my expectations. These must be my 15th pair of headphones and I’ve noticed that while other headphones try to give one button multi-uses, these keep things simple and easy to understand. There is a button to turn off or on the ANC, the volume/track button, and the power button. That’s it. That is all you really need. I tried pairing them with the Skullcandy app, but as of this review, this was not an option. The thing is, sometimes, you just want something that isn’t convoluted, so the app isn’t needed to enjoy. These are the headphones for the person who wants to turn on their audio, listen to it, and forget about everything else.
Aside from that, they charge with the included USB-C cable and have a backup auxiliary cable in case you ever run out of battery or want to use them in an airplane. Using the auxiliary cable, I connected them to my Xbox Series X. Though the mic doesn’t work for that, I enjoyed my single story gaming content with these. They feel comfortable when worn over 3 hours and didn’t bother me even when wearing my glasses. Phone calls do sound phenomenal, as I was told by the family members I called and the ANC helped me focus on the conversation as opposed to the dishes I was washing. Finally, they have an embedded Tile, which is technology that allows you to ping them using other Tile customers in case they ever get lost/misplaced/stolen. Pairing with Tile was also a simple process and I feel confident that if I ever forget them or lose them, I can track where they are.
--- VALUE ---
The price for the Hesh ANC is worth the investment considering the amount of time you will get use of them.
--- APPROVAL ---
I highly recommend this product for people who want to enjoy their audio in loud environments or even want to drown out loud noises without listening to anything at all. Also, if you are the type to forget to charge things overnight, like I occasionally do, the quick charge feature is one you will quickly learn to love.
Jan 21, 2021 21:31Style and comfort: These headphones are lightweight and have a good solid fit. They are very comfortable when wearing them and the ear coverings are soft and do a good job of keeping out any ambient noise especially with the ANC on. The adjustability makes them a good fit for all head sizes and shapes. The one thing I found a bit cumbersome was the control buttons, but I assume that more use will give a better feel for those along with locations for each function. Sound: The sound on these headphones is impressive. I found that any media I was using, be it music, phone function, TV etc. was clear and crisp. The bass was deep and the mid-range and treble volumes had a good mix to make the sound pop. When using a media device with equalizer functions, you are able to really get some fantastic sound quality. Bluetooth and connect ability: This unit is very easily set up to any Bluetooth device and connected right away without having to go through numerous steps. To date, I have them connected to my TV, laptop, smart watch and mobile phone and all connected with ease. The voice notification is also a plus for any device using Bluetooth. I found the connectivity range to be well above average. I have had several devices in the past that lost connection only after a few feet, however with this set, I am able to walk around the entire house and yard without having the broadcasting device tagging along, meanwhile maintaining a strong connection. Exercising: As headphones aren’t necessarily the listening device of choice during outdoor exercise, I thought I would give it a shot during a couple walks/runs. I was fully expecting the headphones to jar off my head, but was pleasantly surprised that they held up well and I did not have to make any consistent adjustments. During my exercise, I usually deal with traffic noise. In the past of had to really crank the volume up in order to drown that out. The ANC on these headphones did not disappoint. I was able to keep the volume at a reasonable level without the background noise distractions. Design and functionality: I found the collapsible design to be a nice feature and the fast charging is great for quick recovery and reuse. The battery life seems to hold true to its specifications. Overall I am very pleased with these headphones. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion.
Dec 28, 2020 15:21Great product. I bought it for my husband and when I tried it at the store even before the music was on you feel the noise cancellation. My husband loves it.
Oct 30, 2021 15:33I was looking for a good pair of over the ear headphones with noise canceling and strong sound at a reasonable price. Noise canceling headphones can be an expensive proposition, ranging as low as $50 all the way up into the high hundred dollars. That's where the Skull Candy's comes in. Reasonably priced with strong sound.
As far as the sound the high end is crisp but not shrill or fatiguing. The bottom end is tight and full and not bloated. So many times I have found that after a long listen with other headphone I have a headache, this hasn't been the case with the Skull Candy's.
The fit is snug and secure around my ears with out any pressure on the crown of my head from the padded strap.
The set up and controls are logically laid out and easy to use without fiddling.
The headphone come with a USB-C charging cable, a mini jack cable to plug into mini jack devices and a rugged soft carrying case for storage when not in use.
All in all I have been very impressed and please with the sound and construction quality of these headphones.
Jan 23, 2021 11:09A little weird when it switches from phone call to music. Other than that a good product all-around if you don’t mind the weird process for when it switches from calls to music.
Oct 08, 2021 15:45I cannot be happier with my SkullCandy Hesh ANC Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones. First and foremost so thankful I cut the cord literally! These headphones are lightweight, allow me to do anything, they are so flexible and adapt with me. I use them inside and outside the house for many hours and the battery life is great for a long time. Also a great feature of these headphones which I have not see before is the ambient mode. Great feature that is super easy to toggle back and forth if needed. They really go and move with you -so portable and very lightweight. The nice carry case that comes with them really comes in handy, it protects them so you can put them in your purse or backpack and just take them out when you want to listen to some music. The sound on these are amazing. I listen to pod casts, playlists and audio books when I take my walks. It really is crystal clear and you will not be disappointed ! I received this product at a discounted price for an honest review.
Jan 19, 2021 09:57I am so pleased with these headphones! I've been a fan of Skullcandy since using their inkd earbuds. Those have set my standard for comfort and sound quality. Today you absolutely need to not be tangled in wires and most devices offer Bluetooth. It only made sense to upgrade to wireless headphones. I do own another brand of wireless earbuds but found them lacking in sound quality, ease of use and the earbuds themselves were too large for my ears. I was ecstatic at a chance to use the Skullcandy Hesh ANC headphones. They are well constructed with a smooth matte black color. In the box you will find they come with a carry bag nicely lined to protect them while traveling but I wanted to try these out!! I read the directions and saw a 10 minute quick charge was all I would I need. I quickly plugged them in and as promised that green light lit up! I have to say the quick charge has since become my favorite feature. My first impression was they were comfortable. The cushioning inside was comfortable and fit around my ears perfectly. The top adjusts smoothly, no clicking or a need to pull. The buttons on the earpiece are easily felt but it takes a few times to figure out exactly which one you're hitting and for what purpose. There is a cute English woman's voice that announces power on or off. As soon as you turn on the headphones the noise canceling is activated. The first time I had them on this threw me off for a minute and honestly I felt a bit dizzy since I hadn't experienced noise canceling before. I recovered quickly and soon went about the rest of my day cooking, cleaning & laundry. It wasn't until my dog jumped on me to get my attention that I realized I had them on for hours without being interrupted by anything. In fact I had had them on for so long my ears were damp with sweat. Since then I've learned to pay a bit more attention when wearing them but also when I find myself in a situation where I need some silence, say home schooling hours while I'm working, the Skullcandy Hesh save the day! I don't go a day without using these headphones. The second day of having these headphones I was still trying to figure out the buttons and I received a phone call. I hesitated at first as to whether I should take off my headphones or just try answering the call. Ultimately I answered it. Calls are easily accepted and crystal clear. There is absolutely no distortion nor tingy sound from these whatsoever. When I can't hear the TV from activity going on in the house I put these on and enjoy. When I'm solely wearing them to listen to music I am completely immersed in it. The quality is astounding! Unlike many other products you are able to get the volume up very loud. I honestly don't know what took me so long to make the switch to Bluetooth headphones. The Hesh ANC are so comfortable, lightweight, and easily adjust for when I’m wearing a hat or my hair in a different style that they always stay in place. Skullcandy has impressed me once again!
I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion.
Jan 12, 2021 12:32Convenience and performance are no longer mutually exclusive. With DragonFly Black any computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone can be used as a true high-fidelity music player, allowing music lovers to enjoy beautiful sound wherever they go, whenever they please.
AudioQuest never scrimps on quality... absolutely always the best.
I used MyBestBuy Rewards to purchase this DAC. I have been pining for the iPhone Dragonfly since it was just a quiver in AQ’s distant future, the day I first saw its predecessor!
Mine is connected to a little tube amp running a superb 2.1 with exceptional silk dome Hybrid Audio Legatia tweeters. This kit has exceptional detail in the mids and highs. The power tubes are JJ with a Sovtech preamp, and my normal source is Deezer at 44.1k/16 streamed through my iPhone 6S.
This has always been a sweet kit with just the iPhone internal DAC, but while the amp/speaker combo was open and buttery rich, the iPhone D-to-A was the weakest link, a bit brittle... just a little digital harshness.
Enter the dragonfly... it unboxes just as if it was an Apple product with first rate package internals and a beautiful manual. I skipped the manual and just plugged it in to the necessary Apple camera adapter (USB to Lightning - sold separately) and plugged it right into the little amp.
In your hand, it’s small like a five-stick piece of gum, and the Dragonfly and adapter will easily travel with you in your noise cancelling headphone case when you travel.
Once you connect it and have it close to you, the next unexpected WOW is the finish... This little device is an absolute Hot Rod, with what appears to be a true high gloss candy apple red metallic paint job. It’s not an adapter. It’s not a tool. It is a properly respectful contribution to the hedonistic joy that is premium audio.
The only WOW that truly matters is the depth and clarity of its work.
Sound, at last, is complete.
Jun 07, 2019 19:45Really made a difference with the sound quality coming out of my computer to my audio system. The headphone jack was very low and sounded kind of bland out of the notebook computer. Plugged this in and the quality and sound went up. Have the cobalt version of this too and don't really notice a difference so red is fine.
Nov 28, 2021 01:15I know this is a portable headphone DAC, but...
I needed a dedicated streamer and this makes my iPod Touch 7 rock! Now, I am over 60 and suffer from tinnitus so spending over $500.00 for something like the Bluesound Node 2i seem like an expense of diminishing returns. So if you have a device that streams like a table and access to HD music, the DragonFily is a great jumping off point into the world of HiFi Streaming!
May 22, 2020 08:21This thing appears to be snake oil on the surface and to some it might still be snake oil after listening on it. I have it paired with BW P7 (wired) and the Tidal MQA files I feed it, really shine. It's hard to explain the difference in sound, It's not immediately breathtaking or mind blowing. It's not like the first time you moved from standard def to 1080p, or 1080p to 4k. It's almost as if, when you hear it, you start to notice layers being peeled off the music, removing the compression middle men and putting you closer to the artist. The best analogy I have is the music we listen to now is like we are in the next room over from where the artist is recording, we can see them and hear them pretty well, but we are obviously not in the same room. This device puts you in the same room. Hi-Fi to me is all about getting closer to the original recording, and this does it for me.
I have a Devialet D120 and BW CM10S2. I wish this little device would connect to that system somehow, so I could enjoy the MQA experience on it, too.
Sep 11, 2020 08:17The build quality of this is stunning! These were driving my HD 560s with such power and clarity. It feels nice to the touch, and comes with a little leather pouch to keep it safe! Just be aware that this only comes with a 3.5mm jack in and a usb out.
Sep 30, 2021 21:41I am a Best Buy employee and I've been wanting a Dragonfly for a while now but never pulled the trigger due to lack of support for mobile devices. I never really listen to music from my laptop; it's always from my phone using headphones or in my car. Audioquest revised this device for customers like myself.
First off, I've had this for about an hour now and it took me a bit to start noticing the benefits. I'm currently using this on an S7 Edge with some V-Moda M-100s. There have been a few issues getting my phone to recognize the USB device. I'm running Spotify Premium and the first several times I plugged in the Dragonfly the music was super digitized and there were no highs. It was all bass and sounded like 16 bit music. I researched the Audioquest site and there will eventually be a firmware update client for the dragonfly, but currently the website says "coming soon." So that was no help.Through some more research on Head-Fi this is apparently an issue with Android Marshmallow. It works fine on Lollipop and iOS devices, but until Marshmallow gets an update, the USB audio support is finicky. The dragonfly does work on my phone but sometimes I have to unplug and re-plug it several times, or have a song already playing when I plug it in to get it to work. Incidentally, it has worked 100% of the time on my laptop.
As for sound quality, as I started to say, I did notice a difference right away, but I didn't notice how vast it was until I switched back and forth from the DF to the headphone jack several times. Each time I used the phone's built in DAC I felt it sounded more and more flat and closed off. The soundstaging with the dragonfly is vastly better in comparison. It wasn't mind blowing, but just so much more preferable than what the Samsung built DAC was putting out. Like I stated I use Spotify Premium which gives me access to 320kbps mp3s, and I don't have any lossless music to test. I may migrate to Tidal which is a lossless music streaming app. I've had it previously and LOVED the audio quality but was not satisfied with the performance of the app itself. I can't wait to try my dragonfly in the car, even though the quality difference won't be as noticeable. The best way to use this device is with headphones or through a good home theater amp and great speakers, playing some lossless music like FLAC (no mp3s). So far I am extremely happy with my purchase and I haven't even put it through it's paces yet.
Any music fanatic, or even just a casual listener should love this product. There is also a new Dragonfly Red that uses a more advance DAC with higher power output and a more controlled 1 step = 1 decibel volume control
Jun 26, 2016 16:52I’ve even using this exclusively as a headphone amp/DAC for my iPhone and it does make a big difference.
I’ve been using a set of Focal Spirit earbuds and a set of Sony MDR1AM2.
In the earbuds, I’m hearing much less distortion as higher volumes and don’t have turn them up as much. The lower end response is a little better, but it’s much more noticeable in the higher range.
I haven’t listened to the Sony set without it so I have no comparison to without the usage of this DAC.
May 30, 2021 10:26If you enjoy Hi Res Audio this device is for you. This really brings out everything great in music. After having a DAC i would never go without one. The red is great but the Blue Cobalt is amazing. You have to justify if the $100 extra for the Cobalt is worth it. I will say I couldnt get this to work with my Android Samsung Note 20 Ultra but the blue Cobalt works just fine.
Jun 18, 2021 15:46Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 deliver everything you expect from Bluetooth headphones – and some things you never imagined possible. It’s no surprise PC Magazine called them “The best active noise cancellation you can buy.” Eleven levels of noise cancellation feature a range of options to choose from. You can totally eliminate distractions or minimize noise cancelling to hear everything around you. Or choose from nine other levels in between. Active noise cancelling technology in Bose Headphones 700 monitors the sounds around you and instantly cancels out unwanted noise to let your music shine through. At the same time, the acoustic space inside the earcups is maximized to give your music depth and detail. With these noise cancelling headphones, it’s not just your music that’s clear, so are your calls. The unrivaled microphone system uses a series of microphones to adapt in real time to noisy and windy environments so voices sound crystal clear on calls. Voice commands are also captured with unprecedented accuracy. The stunning new design of Bose Headphones 700 features a streamlined stainless-steel headband and a lightweight, comfortable fit that’s perfect for all-day listening. With these wireless headphones you get up to 20 hours of battery life and time-based power information per charge. Bose Headphones 700. The wireless headphones everyone is talking about.
I am thoroughly impressed so far.
Packaging is simplistic and straight to the point with two peel back tabs that let you inside. From there, you will see the NCH 700's case which was smaller than I thought because they don't fold up like the QC35II's. The case fits in my work bag just fine. However, I do have say it's not as small overall as the QC35II's case. The NCH 700 case has a little magnetic flap inside that stores the audio and USB-C cable. No airplane adapter. Thank you Bose for going USB-C with the NCH 700's. What's left is manuals and warranty cards.
The feel of the NCH 700's is nice. It's a streamlined design that grew on me and looks very modern. Weight is slightly more than the QC35II's. Build quality is significantly superior with more metals being used and most importantly, the comfort is similar. I would maybe give the slight edge to the QC35II in comfort due to the lower weight, but the NCH 700's is still a very comfortable headphone. The headband adjustment is smooth and should accommodate a wide variety of head sizes just fine. Ear-cup openings is similar to the QC35II with the left and right labels inside the ear cups for easy notation on how to put the headphones on.
Controls are great and I can say the touch controls are very responsive and intuitive. Swipe up for volume increase. Swipe down for volume decrease. Swipe forward for the next track. Swipe backward for the previous track. Double tap to play and pause. Tap once to accept and incoming call. Tap and hold to reject the call. Tap and hold to go to a shortcut predefined in the app. The current shortcut available was to have the voice prompt alert you of the current battery life in which she tells you the estimated time until the battery is dead. There's 3 dedicated buttons on the NCH 700's. The two on the right is responsible for Power on/Bluetooth pairing and voice assistance/mute mic. The one on the left is to cycle between the 3 preset noice cancelling modes defined with the app. The right earpiece houses the USB-C port and the left earpiece houses the audio input port.
The app provides a lot of functionality control. You can on the fly scroll though the noise cancelling/ambient modes from 0-10. 0 being like having no headphones on at all and 10 being in your own little acoustical chamber. You can launch Bose AR apps and experience augmented reality with he NCH 700's. Pretty cool. You can select the sources that are connected and add a new source or remove an existing source. The NCH 700 can connect to up to 2 devices at once. You can set your voice assistant between Siri, Google Assistant or Alexa. You can set how much of your voice is heard during phone calls or voice assistant interaction. If you're familiar with the QC35II's Bose Connect app, it's pretty much similar settings you can control.
Sound on the NCH 700's is clean, open and balanced. No frequency really stands out so you get an accurate representation of your music. I would say they sound similar to the QC35II but with a tighter bass. The Sony WH1000Xm3 has this false stigma that they sound superior to the QC35II but that's because the Sony's accentuate the bass frequencies which to the untrained ear is more exciting and pleasing. This is not a better sound, it's a different sound that is not accurate to the source material. The Bose sounds more accurate, more like being in the studio. A flat sound will not sound exciting to everyone especially those with untrained ears. Sound is subjective overall so you can't go wrong with what you enjoy listening to. I really enjoy the NCH 700's sound. It's a smooth and clear sound that plays well with all genres. If you want a lot of bass, look elsewhere towards the Sony's.
Noise cancelling is insanely good on the NCH 700's. Probably the best I've experience, but honestly, the Sony WH1000Xm3 set the bar so high in terms of noise cancellation that the NCH 700 doesn't really wow me. I think they are about as equally good, but the NCH 700 takes the cake because I don't get those distortion artifacts when the ANC pressure within the ear cups is disrupted from sudden vibrations to the headphones that plagues the Sony WH1000XM3. For example this is caused by being on a bus while on a bumpy road or running with your headphones on. The ambient mode is very natural feeling on the NCH 700 and it's great being able to have awareness while listening to audio in situations where you don't want to blocked completely from the world. Wish it had the Sony's right hand palm over the ear cup feature where it seamlessly kicks in ambient sound and lowers the music volume so you can quickly hear someone or something and then once your hand leaves the right ear cup, everything reverts back to normal.
The mains reason the new NCH 700's are the new ANC headphone kings is the voice mic quality on calls and interacting with your voice assistant. It's amazing how clear your voice is projected onto the other line while using the NCH 700. These are killer for conference calls even if you dare take them in the middle of Times Square, NYC.
Overall, the NCH 700 is a welcome evolution to the Bose headphone line up and I'm sure these will win the hearts of many. Highly recommended!
Sep 15, 2019 01:21Bose 700 headphones arrived today; the headset system clearly spoke First Class. Upon opening the product box found a carrying case for the Bose 700’s that is both nicely designed and quite suitable for storing or travelling with the headphones.
The 700’s are both very comfortable wearing and the tactile sensation to the touch in your hand and upon your head is far removed from any headsets that I have previously reviewed/used. The texture of the ear and head cushions are the definition of comfort. The 700’s rest lightly on your head and are basically not noticeable when you put them on, after a few minutes you barely notice you are wearing the headset.
To setup the 700’s you download the Bose Music app and follow the instructions. Bose Music app will setup popular streaming music services automatically, cool. One item that caught my eye is your current music selection is displayed on app. The extra attention to detail app programming shines through.
First experience with noise cancellation tech, in a word, Wow. Turned on some James Taylor mid-range volume, put the headset on and at first did not realize that I could not hear an A/C unit just twenty feet from me. Only when I took the headphones off did hit me that all the sounds in the room had “magically” disappeared. You can program three settings from complete noise cancellation to mid and no cancellation, very nice.
Music is perfectly clear including the most subtle audio with extraordinary spatial environment, each instrument/vocal comes through stunningly. Fact is the 700’s are the best headphones at music reproduction that I have experienced. From a wide range of genres going back to the 60’s through modern and Rock to Phantom of the Opera it was musical bliss.
Fun Stuff:
- Controls are well placed and the Touch Surface Controls for volume and track selection are spot on.
- Battery life should easily deliver twenty hours of fun
- Conversation mode
- Built in Alexa - Simple easy setup – Great Feature
- Mobile call management
“Bose Headphones 700 feature an unrivaled four-microphone system that picks up and isolates your voice while cancelling the noise around you. You’ll hear and be heard like never before — even in noisy environments.” Good stuff.
Typically, not a big headphone enthusiast, I have now been converted with the Bose 700 headphones. Bose has covered all the bases in their new headset.
The 700’s speak class, performance and functionality clearly.
Aug 05, 2019 20:20Design/build: The design is polarizing with a minimalist and modern look. The earcups are plastic with synthetic leather earpads. Headband is steel with silicone padding and silicone covering the top. Some minor marring/scratches do occur at the adjustment point of the headband and earcups.
Comfort: The padding on the earcups and headband provide ample cushioning without getting too hot. The clamping force on the headband is stronger. You will also notice the added weight compared to the QC35II.
ANC: I find that the ANC is really good but I don't find it any better the WH-1000XM3 or the QC35II. I do like that you adjust the ANC level from 0-10 (hear through-max). I also did not observe white noise or cabin pressure. ANC performance did well in windy environments.
Sound: It sounds the same as the QC35II. The sound is clear but lacks detail, dynamic range is reduced as you increase volume, soundstage lacks depth. There is a delay between the video and sound, but not too noticeable. Headphone use SBC and AAC audio codecs, no Hi-res codecs such as LDAC or APTX HD
Controls: I do like that they separated the ANC and assistant buttons. Touch controls on right earcup work well however I feel that the touch area is too small and that the headband interferes with its function.
Mic/calls: Great improvement in the sound quality. One of the best headphones for making calls.
Connection: No Bluetooth issues when connected with PC and Android phone. Did not observe stutters while playing music or video. You can connect two devices at the same time.
App: New Bose app for controlling ANC levels, updating firmware or as a controller for your media. Currently you cannot control your EQ with app. You do need a Bose account to utilize.
Recommendation: Overall the headphones provide great features and convenience. It works well as an ANC headphones and is excellent for making calls. If you are looking for something with better sound, it's not there. At $400, I cannot recommend these when there are other competing headphones that provide the same or better performance at a lower price.
Jul 06, 2019 16:04I was torn between these headphones and Sony’s latest but ended up sticking with Bose. These are definitely an improvement on the Quiet Comfort 35 II. The headband is really soft and I like the way the ear cups attach. I miss that they don’t bend inward for smaller storing but that hinge proved a problem for me. The controls will take some getting used to for me but I like how easy it is to change the volume and track. The fact that they have a magnetic closure for the cord compartment of the case is a big plus and improvement.
I bought these when they were on sale for $300 which was a great deal.
Nov 20, 2020 13:45Bose - Noise Cancelling Headphones 700
Included- 20" USB-C to USB-A charging cable, 42' audio only cable, noise cancelling headphones, owner manual, and protective case.
I have owned a few pairs of Bose headphones, but these are my first noice cancelling headphones. I was so excited for these, knowing what Bose offers.
Packaging- the box that the headphones came in had a seal on both sides that are supposed to easily tear so the box will open. However, one of the sides didn't work so well and it took a chunk of box out of it. It's not a huge deal, but obviously I would have liked the box to not look janky. Inside, is a nice slim case that zips open and closed with a cloth interior. It holds the headphones and the cables neatly. It's great for storage and travel. That way they won't get damaged or dusty.
Design- the design is sleek and attractive. I like that they are not gigantic and bulky, which noice cancelling headphones can be. The headband is not wide, only 1" at it's widest point. The size adjusts by sliding the ear cups up and down the headband instead of have another joint to extend or contract. The ear cups don't fold, they turn or pivot flat. It keeps the integrity of the headband better this way. The ear cups and the headband are very comfortable for shorter periods of time. I don't think I'd want to wear any pair all day long.
I understand nowadays every product has an app to go with it. I also am slightly annoyed that it's required instead of an optional feature. You will have to download the free Bose Music app to proceed. You can customize a name or use a preset option for your headphones. It was easy to pair them to my phones. The app will display your battery life and what song you are playing. The app will not let you customize the sounds on the app. That is something that needs to be added. I expect that from this product and brand. I also wish Bose would consolidate their music apps. I have to have a separate app for their soundbars that I own.
Controls- Everything is by touch with taps or swipes or a simple touch of a button. It take a little bit of time getting used to but probably will require more If you are left handed since the controls are on the right cup only. I don't use Alexa or Siri too often but I find that Alexa understands me better.
Sound- I think the sound quality is excellent. I am not disappointed in the 700's at all. I am not a music snob though. I mainly listen to top 40 and it's great for me. The noise cancelling works great too. I love that there are different levels - 0-10. You can also make 3 different favorite settings if you have certain specific needs or situations. Anything to tailor it to your experience is great.
I'm so glad I have these. I do recommend these if you like Bose, need a wireless noise canceling pair and can afford them.
Jul 30, 2019 17:00My very first pair of noise canceling headphones were a Bose that I purchased 7 years ago. I still own and use that pair of Bose QC 15 headphones. Through the years, I have always considered upgrading but have never had a good enough reason to. Mainly because Bose is so consistently good with their headphones that all the newer models have been very similar in sound, comfort and function as my old faithful pair of QC’s. Well, I now find myself with a set of the new Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700 and I once again am impressed of how good previous versions of Bose headphones hold up even today. That said, the 700 do feel, look and sound incrementally better to me. Allow me to geek out over the details a bit...
- The Bose 700 have better passive noise isolation. The headphones block more ambient noise passively by just the cup and pad materials. The trade-off is that the headphones seem to be just ever so slightly more warm to wear than the previous QC15, 25 and 35 models.
- The active noise cancelation is slightly better also. Perhaps not better but different. The 700 tend to cancel out a few decibels less of the lowest sounds (airplane cabin noise) but then block more than before of the mid to high frequencies (busy office or coffee shop). Personally, I do not fly much so I prefer the noise canceling prowess of the Bose NC 700.
- The sound signature remains true to Bose’ custom but is ultimately better. The 700 seem to have higher impedance drivers. This means that it takes more electricity to move the electromagnet that moves the drivers which move air creating sound frequencies. Higher impedance drivers means a stronger bass that is more controlled and tight. The trade off to he high impedance speakers which take more energy to drive is twofold: 1) Listening to the headphones passively through the wire sounds significantly worse. These drivers need more amplification than the average 3.5 mm headphone jack provides. 2) Wireless battery life still remains near 20 hours. Personally, I prefer the slightly better sound over more battery life or better sounding passive mode.
- The 700 have slightly better imaging. Closed back headphones do not do imaging as well as their open back cousins. The soundstage is still within my head but the instrument separation is better than previous Bose. So great to imagine an actual stage in a performance theatre and to be able to hear exactly where each orchestra member is sitting. It just makes music that much more immersive.
- The highs are better! I read some reviews that say the sound of the higher frequencies such as symbols is inconsistent depending on how the headphones are seated on your ear and how good of a seal there is. I understand this, but to me the highs sound absolutely fantastic. They are not rolled off. A symbol finishes its ring until the very last vibration. There is also no harshness nor brittleness ever at higher volumes. The highs are very very nicely done for a noise canceling headphone. Now, if you wear glasses and do not have as good of a seal then your experience may vary.
- The mids such as voices are more present and transparent than previous generation Bose noice canceling headphones. I have listened to many very expensive headphones where the mids get lost in the mix. Not here. Bose managed to have sub-level lows and ear tickling highs while still maintaining the mids. Very great.
- The Bose QC35 first introduced us to volume specific bass equalization. In other words, Bose increases the volume of the bass at lower levels so that the it could be properly heard when it normally would not be present enough. The Bose 700 does the same! So great to hear the full frequency spectrum even when playing music at very low volumes.
- Unfortunately, to my ear Bose decreases the bass at higher volumes - like over 80%. I would rather have this than to have distorted bass yet the balance is thus off at these higher volumes. Thankfully I never listen this loud.
- The sound of my own voice during phone calls sounds more natural than ever. Really, this is hard to do because when wearing headphones our own voice sounds odd to us. Try plugging your ears and while you talking. It voice sounds like it is under water. It takes a lot of equalization in order to take what we hear naturally and pump in some of what the microphones are hearing on the outside and equalize it in a way so that it sounds natural. It is not perfect, but I am still in awe. I have never heard it done this well.
- The ear cups are taller than previous Bose headphones. This gives more margin of error and a larger sweet-spot when adjusting the headband. Good thing because it is hard to get the headband back to the exact location where it was previously. I miss the “clicks” of the previous models. It made it so easy to count the “clicks” to place the headband exactly where it was proven comfortable.
- At first I was annoyed by the physical buttons. They seemed too large and too openly placed in that I accidentally pressed them when just taking the headphones on and off. Now, they do not bother me at all. Muscle memory has me avoiding accidental presses. In fact, the buttons (both physical and touch) have grown on me. I appreciate how they disappear into the sleek design.
- The design to me looks very fantastic. So sleek with the steal headband with very soft silicones and leatherettes. To my eye, my QC 15 look dated and the QC 35 series now look like a tank.
- One final little detail. I love that the weight balance of the headphones allows the ear cups to automatically lay flat when I hold the headband. Makes it so easy to place the 700’s back into their case (see photo).
As you can tell, I have been obsessing over these headphones. Most of these details I have shared may go unnoticed by the average consumer. Yet, I can’t help to think that most anyone will appreciate the sum total of the parts. Most will probably acknowledge that the Bose NC 700 just sound good, feel good and work well. Now, to my fellow arm-chair audiophiles - consider that these Bose Noise Canceling 700 headphones are an all-in-one product. Bose has nicely paired their own custom drivers with their own DAC (assuming it is a proprietary DAC in there) and also an amplifier. All the while simultaneously pumping in sound that cancels out the ambient noise. Quite a feat! Of course, you can get better sounding headphones elsewhere but you will also need a great dedicated DAC and then an amplifier. All the while, you probably still will be settling for a headphone that is much less comfortable. And, you might constantly be experiencing hoping to pair the right DAC with the right cans and amplifier. When I look at it this way, the Bose 700 are worth the money and do have a place in my collection.
Aug 08, 2019 16:46decent sound and decent noise cancellation! I recommend for traveling and listening to music is just super!
Sep 08, 2021 16:04Works great in the start but I’ve started getting some problems with this head phones.. where do I contact for help? The Bluetooth kind of does not connect sometimes and the audio suddenly rings on the phone instead of headphones.. I want to replace this product!!
Dec 10, 2020 16:15Keep your favorite songs playing throughout the day with this Sony wireless headset. When connected via Bluetooth technology, the set offers up to 35 hours of music playback time and 30 hours of talk time. This Sony wireless headset provides a tight seal around the ears, letting you enjoy your favorite tunes and conversations without interruption.
Good, balanced sound for music and phone calls. Bluetooth syncs to my iPhone flawlessly. Holds power for a good amount of time..does not drain fast! Maybe, I should’ve upgraded to noise canceling feature. I don’t like hearing my voice and background noise during a call. It’s annoying! After approx 20-30 minutes, the ear cushions get uncomfortable and lil sweaty on ears.
Jan 10, 2021 11:58I only bought these headphones to listen to audio on my iPhone. I don’t know how they perform with anything else. I’ve had no problems with pairing with the phone. The audio quality is pretty good. The dynamic range is very good for this price range. The battery life is excellent. I’ve had these for a month with about 2 hours of use daily and they still don’t need charging. They are very lightweight and did feel cheaply made when I first opened the package but I’ve had no issues with breaking. Now… you may have read some negative reviews about the call quality, this is true. The microphone is highly sensitive. It amplifies any and every sound once the mic activates. You and the person on the other end can hear yourselves talking. If you want to use these for calls… DON’T. Consider something else. They work great for my needs which is just listening to audio.
Jul 02, 2021 16:57Good sound quality, very good battery backup but the material/plastic feels cheap although it’s lightweight, so that's a good thing too. Recommended.
Dec 04, 2020 16:33I bought these earlier this year and have owned them for a few months NO ISSUES AT ALL Sound quality/clearity AMAZING Very Comfortable NO RUB NO ITCHES NO RASHES The battery life Great Lasts a LONG TIME they look and feel great they feel like they are made out of cheap crap but they are very durable I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE HEADPHONES AND THEY ARE 110% WORTH THE MONEY THEY WONT LET YOU DOWN!!!
Mar 27, 2020 17:29Volume is great but when I finally attempted to adjust the headset, the earphone part broke!
Mar 21, 2021 07:23The materials feel cheap, light, and are truly uncomfortable after a short time. Sound quality is great though. Additionally, the buttons are too sensitive and hard to find specifically the "pause/play" button.
Jul 16, 2021 15:49These headphones are very painfully tight. They put so much pressure on my ears. Engineers didn’t even consider this?
Dec 21, 2020 15:52I bought these to hook up to my fire stick so I can watch movies through my projector. All I can say is you can hear everything like you are there. The battery life is very good. I must of watched 10 movies before I got the warning to charge headset. These are way worth it. Very easy to hook up to fire stick if your tv don’t have Bluetooth.
Aug 28, 2020 19:25Totally wireless Powerbeats Pro earphones are built to revolutionize your workouts. With zero wires to hold you back, the adjustable, secure-fit earhooks are customizable for extended comfort and stability. A reinforced design for sweat and water resistance lets you take it to the next level. Each earbud has full volume and track controls and up to 9 hours of listening time to fuel your training with powerful, balanced sound.
I originally purchased the AirPods Pro but they kept falling out regardless of what combination of size adapters I put. So I changed to these since I primarily use headphones for the gym. These are so far the best wireless headphones, they don’t fall out when I do any workout, even cardio. They charge in the case and the case charges with an iPhone charger and the case holds a long charge. They pair the same as any AirPods and show up the same way. Worth the purchase.
Apr 25, 2021 22:21I got these paired with a Samsung Galaxy s9plus. Sound quality is fantastic. I love the independent functionality of these, I am a bus mechanic and my normal days are 10 hours (hopefully). I only wear one at work for safety reasons. I start at 3:30 am and I have been able to get through my entire day listening to music and talking on the phone by the time I get in my car I still have 30% or better depending on how loud I had them I normally keep the volume i would say a little over 25% in volume for me to hear the music or calls. When talking on them the call sound quality is awesome.
Jul 04, 2019 09:50The quality is much better than the AirPods but not as good as most quality over the head - headphones .
I have both AirPods and beats solo three over the head headphones . Initially I was comparing them to the solo 3 sound quality and was disappointed . However , after realizing the purpose of the headphones , and understanding how difficult it would be to achieve the same sound quality in such a small set of earbuds would be extremely hard and much more expensive. They look better than the AirPods but are not as casual/convenient .
The beats are perfect for their purpose . Great sound for the size and portability , and great functionality for working out .
Side note:This isn’t for females with little ears tho. I let a friend who is about 5 feet with small ears try them and they were much too big.
Jul 19, 2019 15:59I received these about a week ago after pre-ordering them on May 3rd. Before this I owned a pair of the Bose Soundsport Free. I like listening to music and watching videos with these headphones. My Bose headphones had a noticeable lag when watching youtube videos. These headphones did not suffer the same fate. I also like how sturdy they feel on the ear and I believe the sound quality is the same or maybe slightly better than the Bose. I have an iphone so the Hey Siri function is nice too. The only thing that I may have liked better on my last Bose headphones was the way that the crescent shaped buds felt a bit less intrusive in my ears. Other than that these are a win!
May 31, 2019 16:21The bass, the immersion, and at the price point of Apple AirPods, I don’t see another better deal and bang for your buck. I sometimes don’t even notice they are in my ear while I’m walking, with music off that is. And I don’t think I need to tell you that these are not going to fall out of your ear no matter what. The case is a tad bit on the bigger side but you’re walking around with an extra 24 hours of juice for your beats on top of the 9 hours each earpiece.
TLDR: I enjoy these and will never look back to AirPods or Samsung buds.
Oct 21, 2019 13:51I own the first gen AirPods and after using them for a while they were great but because it’s one size my ear would normally ache after a while i would have to constantly adjust. Now the Powerbeats fit sooo much better an since they have different sizes they are actually comfortable. Now the sound holy cow is night an day. The lows, mids, and highs are far better then that of the AirPods as well! I highly recommend these if your struggling over comfort and performance
Now i will say a con is the size of the case which if you look from the pictures its massive compared to the AirPods
Jul 24, 2019 13:42I am very happy with this upgrade. I have owned other Beats products so I have high expectations. These headphones are so far what I expected the comfort and quality of the material are perfect. The controls on each being Symmetrical makes things very nice only having one side as a main wasn’t fun with other units I’ve used. The quality of the sound is what I’ve come to expect from Beats. I hope the battery life doesn’t fall off with age like other products I’ve used we will see.
Feb 06, 2021 06:57The volume was great when I first purchased but less than 2 weeks later I have issues with the volume/sound quality. The ear buds go in & out. Sometimes the volume is loud & clear & other times its low & people have a hard time hearing me. I'm not sure if this is a defective set but I had a much higher expectation for the cost & manufactorer. Truly disappointed.
Aug 08, 2019 10:02These Sony ZX Series MDRZX110/BLK headphones feature neodymium magnets and 30mm drivers for powerful, reinforced sound. Enjoy your favorite songs with lush bass response thanks to the Acoustic Bass Booster technology.
Family friendly. Can use for ages 10 and up. Im and adult and I don't need to pull the adjustment out. Kids use them in my car so I don't have to hear their video games on their Amazon fore tablet. This is my second purchase I bought white ones a year ago for the laptops and since they held up I got these for the car.
May 08, 2020 16:50So if your a music lover like me you want to listen to your music with good clear sound from your headphones. I've probably gone through 25 different kinds of headphones in the last couple of years and i have to say that these sony over the ear headphones have been the best ones I've used for only 19.99 so if your looking for good headphones and don't want to spend a fortune these are the ones to get.
May 07, 2016 04:51I purchased my new refrigerator online without actually see it with my own eyes. It was a bit scary for such a large purchase but the information provided on the Best Buy website was spot on and very accurate in the description. I'm extremely pleased and it fits perfectly and is beautiful! The delivery was on point and all Covid precautions observed by the young men. They both were very polite, respectful, and knowledgeable about the fridge and Best Buy practices. The refrigerator is quiet and spacious on the inside. I couldn't be happier with my experience and look forward to purchasing a new stove in the near future.
Apr 30, 2021 20:45I like these. They do exactly what I need them to. I'm glad that they for my head comfortably! They're lightweight and fold up easily for quick travel.
Nov 15, 2019 20:31Purchased this item to connect to my Vox AP2-CR amp for electric guitar so I can play it at night when I can’t sleep sounds great
Jan 09, 2018 09:32I bought this for my granddaughter who couldn't wear earbuds (kept falling out). They fit perfectly, and she loves them.
Apr 15, 2016 18:35I was looking for a pair of no-nonsense, easy to use headphones that would work with everything without having to install drivers or pair them with anything. I found them with this pair.
These Sony ZX headphones have excellent sound in all but the highest volume settings. When I turn the sound on my computer's Soundblaster Audigy sound card all the way up and turn the sound all the way up on my program that I'm using (such as Youtube for example), the bass gets to sounding just a little bit 'muddy' or distorted. But, if I back the sound card's volume control just a little (like back down to 90 from a maximum of 100), then they sound fantastic. I tested them out by listening to classical music like Mozart, Chopin and Williams (John Williams' movie themes) and they reproduced everything as well or better than my computer's Soundblaster brand speakers and just as well as my CD player's speakers. I also tested them out by wearing them while playing video games that use my sound card's ability to create a 3D surround sound effect such as Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas. These headphones sounded very good with those games and the surround sound worked quite well with them thanks to the way that the ear pads conform to the shape of your ears a bit, blocking out most background noise so that you really get the full effect of the surround sound. That's not bad performance from a budget pair of headphones.
They are lightweight, but don't feel fragile. I like that you can fold them up quite a bit so that they'll easily fit in a backpack or portable game system carry case like the one I have for my New 3DS XL that has several pouches inside of it. Not quite as small as my earbuds, but will still fit if I don't take all of my game cards.
The only thing I really don't like about them and that keeps them from earning five stars, is that the headband isn't padded. I thought it wouldn't matter since they aren't heavy, but after extended use (like watching a two hour movie for example), the headband gets to be rather uncomfortable. So, I wrapped a piece of felt around the headband and taped it in place with Gorrilla Tape (like Duct Tape only better). That has solved the problem.
I recommend these headphones for when you want a pair of simple headphones that won't be too big of a shame to lose, get broken or stolen since they didn't cost a fortune, but yet still sound decent. They aren't Bose level of quality, but they aren't Bose priced either.
Apr 23, 2021 18:07These sony headphones are excellent, I use them when I go to the gym and they allow me to listen to my favorite music without the noise of the other people in the gym.
Nov 29, 2017 00:09JVC Powerful Sound lightweight wired on ear headphones offer a comfortable solution for everyday use. The HAS31MB offers an integrated microphone and one button remote on the headset. One button remote allows users to control phone calls (answer/end) and stop/start music in additon to changing tracks forward/back. Soft ear pads provide premium noise isolation. The single sided cord offers a 90 degree 3.5mm analog connector. Voice assistant compatible.
I went to best buy willing to spend up around 2-3 hundred for a nice pair of studio headphones i ended up spending $20 on some regular jvc headphones and they work just fine saved me alot
Nov 09, 2020 11:28No complaints my son uses these for online learning
Jan 06, 2021 12:55I brought these home, unpackaged plugged them in, sounded great for the price! But, when I took them off the left padding essentially just dropped off , I have since put it back on with super glue, and seems fixed but was kinda disappointing. I’m sure it was one in a million, but disheartening none the less.
Aug 06, 2021 18:31I a school-based speech therapist and, thanks to Covid-19, have been forced to do teletherapy.
It is difficult to hear some of my students, especially, articulation therapy with high frequency phonemes. These headphones have helped to understand my students better. The background noise is significantly reduced. I highly recommend these.
Dec 09, 2020 20:37Purchasing this headphone was new for me as I normally buy the wired ewr plugged headphones. I like this headphone and appreciate how much noise it blocks (although not completely depending on how loud your environment is). At $15, this headphone was a great deal...although I have to be honest and share that it hurts my ears a bit after having it on for over 2 hours. If it wasn't for that minor issue, this headphone would be 10|10 for sure!
Dec 18, 2020 17:14I bought this for my 91 year old dad who is hard of hearing and much of his life is sitting and watching TV but he couldn't hear the programs he was watching. I bought him these headphones and he called them a "life-saver." They have helped find a little more enjoyment in life!
May 14, 2021 16:08Thank you Best Buy... Your well appreciated. will try and get friends & and family to climb aboard. I definitely enjoy items that i have received.
Again thank you all.
Nov 05, 2021 15:57Better than any Bose headphones I’ve used. Who would’ve thought that these phones would be better than even high end Bose, but they are. These can also help promote healthy hearing! Buy them now at your local Best Buy. Stay safe with our car side pickup!
Oct 24, 2021 16:05Meet Bose Frames. Bluetooth sunglasses with a soundtrack. The first audio sunglasses with built-in Bose speakers for an immersive audio experience unlike any other. A revolutionary personal audio experience hidden inside two classic designs, each enriched with premium accents and materials. Play music, take calls, and enjoy the sun with UVA/UVB protection. Bose Frames Alto feature a classic angular lenses, available in small and large size.
The Bose Frames Alto are very well built, have better than average sound quality, fun augmented reality apps, good battery life, and sharp looking! I was a little hesitant in trying these for walks around town but the sound quality is quite good! There are going to be a few occasions where the music will be drowned out, most notably for me was while walking down city sidewalks that also had road and building construction going on. This was one of the few times the music was completely drowned out, most of the time simply turning the volume up briefly would fix the issue. This is to be expected as there is nothing in your ear to block outside sounds out. The ability to hear your surroundings is a huge benefit for these sunglasses as it allows you to be more aware of your surroundings and be able to hear and respond without having to remove earbuds or turn off your music/directions. The augmented reality is still very new and I was only able to try out the apps with my significant other's iPhone (Android apps are still in development) but they worked well, the most helpful are the directions and location apps, especially Walc! Walc is a navigation app that uses landmarks instead of cardinal directions and distance to direct you where you are going. The Earplay app was interesting and weird, quite fun but I'm not sure how the replay-ability will be down the road. Overall The best part of these sunglasses is the look and sound quality, I do wish they would have shipped with other options for the lenses, like polarized lenses, but they are reasonably priced on the Bose website.
May 21, 2019 09:30These are amazing. I work in retail and not allowed to wear headphones or earbuds at work. I went to glassesusa.com and got prescription lenses in these. Now I have my own background music whenever I want! No one notices thanks top the subtle lack of branding. They also look great.
May 29, 2020 20:39It’s great to be able to drive down the road and just touch your glasses and not have something hanging in your ear and having that wonderful Bose stereo sound the only problem is that they slide down my nose a little and I wish there was a way to take care of that
Jun 14, 2019 16:49WOW what can you say but Thank You Bose. These are awesome to have i ride a mountain Bike play golf and Run and have to say these work and sound great. The sound is clear and at the right volume light weight and look good. It's nice not to have ear buds in and to be able to hear your music and people around you. These will last 2.5hrs they do charge fast. The mic is clear and people can understand you you don't have to yell for them to hear you. You will get some wind noise but you get that with every headset out there. The style is clean looking scratch resistant lens are nice. They don't squeeze your head and don't push down to hard on your nose. Just one push button to use and hold upside down for 2sec and they turn off.
You must download Bose App to use the functions and this makes it easy to connect and control your music.
The only bad thing about these is the charging cable its to short. That is the only thing i found bad. I wouldn't knock it down for that.
Clean look
Clear Sound
Good App
Nobody makes these out there that i have found. Just need to make some that are polarized lenses and maybe some kind of sports style.
May 23, 2019 03:51Dont think about it. Go get them. You can even switch lens if you want a different shade!
Jul 02, 2021 17:03Using the Bose Alto Frames has been a blast and I can’t say I have much to complain about. Inside the box came the Alto, a proprietary charging cable, a cloth bag, a sturdy magnetic case and the usual paperwork. The case specifically seems like it can take punishment and I have no doubt it will protect the Alto when stashed in your bag. The cloth bas is also very good at keeping the Alto clean and looking fresh.
Design wise, I am pleased with basically everything. I like the boxy, square-like lens/ frames that are both black and give off a low-profile look, not drawing attention to them. The frames have a matte finish and stainless-steel hinges finished in gold. From daily use I can tell that both the frames and the lens appear to be scratch resistant, which is always a plus. The lens are also effective at blocking out a lot of UVA rays and I also like that they are not really reflective. On both the left and the right arm close to where they would rest on either side of your head is the mini Bose speakers, positioned in an effective way to direct audio to your ears without anything actually being in your ear. On the inside of the right arm is the charging connector, while on the underside is a singular gold button that operates all the functions of the Alto.
How do they sound? Better than you would expect. I was pleasantly surprised the first time I powered them up and still am today. The sound it produces is clear and satisfying across a variety of genres that I tested this with. Interestingly my friends who were at times close to me while I used the Alto were at first puzzled then impressed when they found out why I was bopping my head, when I apparently wasn’t hearing any music. They were surprised at how they couldn’t hear anything while beside me (meanwhile I was hearing my music quite well) and well it sounded when they tried it for themselves. There is sound leakage yes but the way Bose deals with directing the sound directly to the user is impressive. It seems only at 80% volume and up the sound from the Alto can be heard someone other than the user. The microphone is also very decent as the person on the other end of my phone call could hear me clearly whether in a quiet room, or out walking around on a busy street. This will not appeal to bass heads or those who prefer their music totally isolated, but that’s not the purpose of Alto now is it.
There is an associated app called Bose connect, but I never used it much since I could use the Alto without using the app. The one gold button not only turns on and off the Alto but also operates like you would expect, with one quick press for pause/play, double press for next forward and triple press for previous track. It can also be used to answer and end a call with single press, and for long holds it can activate your assistant. With regards to the battery life I got between 3.5- 4.5 hours of use which varied based on volume output which I kept around 50%.
Overall, I had a satisfying and experience using these and would definitely suggest to others.
May 22, 2019 15:45Ever have a toy that you just have to show off to everyone you know? Well, these glasses are currently that toy for me. I love them. They could be better and I look forward to seeing where this technology goes, but as is: they sound amazing.
Of course they sound amazing, they’re Bose! Whether you are taking a phone call, listening to music, or enjoying the sound escapes of one of the many apps with incorporated support, you will never be disappointed in the sound.
The glasses look... okay. They honestly look a bit like something I would have expected from a 3D movie theater. Of course style is in the eye of the beholder. I think they look fine, but they won’t ever be confused with designer frames, either.
They aren’t always the most comfortable glasses. The glasses need rubber tips on the arms and some type of rubber grip for the nose piece. As it is, they move around a lot. These glasses are great for walking or enjoying a day at the pool / beach, but I find myself constantly adjusting them and they pinch my ears a bit. No deal breakers, but it could be better.
The app support shows a lot of promise. As an augmented reality device, there is a ton of potential. Imagine a relaxing scene with sounds that envelop you. If you turn your head, you can focus on individual sounds or change the course of an audio story. With some of the navigation apps, you can get information based on what you are looking at. The app potential is amazing. I can only imagine this technology at a zoo or incorporated into a motorcycle helmet.
The glasses are simple and intuitive. A button on the right arm wakes them up, plays and stops music, and answers phone calls. If you place the glasses upside down on a table, they instantly turn off and disconnect from your phone.
I wish there was google assistant integration built-in, but maybe that could be added later? We’re getting closer and closer to my own personal Jarvis!
In conclusion: I loved these glasses. There are things I would love to see improved upon, but as is, these are my new favorite toy.
May 22, 2019 01:17At first, I didn’t know what to think of the Bose Frames – it seemed like such an odd idea. I wear sunglasses almost daily, and always carry at least one pair of wireless headphones with me. As a Californian entering summer, I knew I was going to get a good amount of wear time in before making a judgement.
Pros: Let’s start with the best feature – the audio. I’m completely blown away by the quality and projection of these. It feels like the sound is in your head – or maybe a bubble of sound has engulfed your head. Either way, it sounds great without shutting out the outside world. I can still have conversations and hear the outside world. Imagine walking around with a sound track, that’s how these feel. Connectivity is solid, no complaints there. Package and presentation are also top notch. Finally, I really enjoyed the style of the Alto frames. They are sized well for me and have a classic “loc” style that I love.
Cons: Charging cable is a little short. They “feel” like cheaper sunglasses to me, but I guess they aren’t really the star here. Proprietary charging cable – not the end of the world, but just another cable I have to manage now.

Dec 18, 2020 15:49Got it as part of Deal of the day.. Made of cheap plastic and the place where volume adjustment exists is too bad.
Nov 20, 2020 23:42Thought it was kinda big. It was small for my daughter's ears.
Dec 18, 2020 21:12My kids love them. Looks and feels durable, can connect multiple headphones into one device. Good sound quality.

Feb 05, 2021 19:57With a noise-canceling design, these Sony MDRZX110NC/B over-the-ear headphones prevent unwanted outside noises from interfering with your listening experience. The Supra-Aural technology and 30mm drivers provide dynamic, clear tones.
I like the noise-canceling just what I need. I would recommend to others.
Jan 11, 2021 16:37The LINES on these headsets started splitting only after a couple of time using the headset, so to say disappointment would be a understatement!!! No I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THESE NOR PURCHASE THEM AGAIN. CHEAP LINES!!!!!!!
Aug 08, 2018 08:13I bought these for very occasional use while flying, and I really like them. They do a great job of cancelling out aircraft noise and enhancing audio for watching movies. I didn't want to spend a lot, and these were a perfect match for my needs.
Mar 24, 2018 10:26After using the headphones only a few times the wire at the connection area (where it V's) has exposed wires. We live 2 hours from a Best Buy, so returning them is not convenient. They still work, but they are obviously not good quality.
Sep 27, 2019 10:23Bought these 2 years ago, had to exchange it for a new one a few weeks after because a piece of the headphone fell off! Recently, the whole left earpiece cushion fell off -- poor gluing, I guess. Won't be buying another one.
Nov 02, 2018 12:57Good price, noise reduce very good!
Light, sounds very very nice!
I love the black color, it’s very beautiful !
I do recommend you also get one!
Jul 26, 2019 15:51Purchased unit at airport kiosk..disappointed to find it was missing the battery cover ...exposed. I've never seen this type of issue...seemed unit was used..or return item.
Mar 09, 2019 18:27The sound is great, has great base. The noise cancelling feature works like a charm. Glad I purchased this. Its adjustable and comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

Got these for my niece for online school, she’s able to hear her teacher clearly and she loves them and interchangeable stickers that comes with it.
Sep 17, 2021 18:05I purchased 4 pair of headphones for the twins and they would break them within a week. After a month of use the BuddyPhones are still intact.
Jan 02, 2021 09:23I purchase these for my grandchildren for their school work. I think it was really great price.
Dec 11, 2020 16:50Not very satisfied with the product. The earpiece broke just a few weeks after purchase.

Jan 01, 2021 16:35Got these for my 6 year old for school. She liked them at first and then complained about them hurting her ears.
Dec 26, 2020 08:49The product is much smaller in size than what appeared in photo and on line. Purchased as gift so unable to comment on performance
Dec 11, 2020 16:29They were tiny like for a toddler not a school aged kid. Shipping was ridiculously high for these little bitty wired headphones.
Dec 04, 2020 19:49Kids will love these adorable Blue's Clues Wired Headphones that feature furry dog ears on top! These headphones connect to any audio device and come with parental volume control for safe listening.

I got theses for my wife and she love them but two days ago the Wright one keep saying it’s on 1% and the other one is on 100% what do I do to fix it? If anybody know let me know Thanks...
Jun 27, 2020 00:55I was pretty shocked by the quality of the product. It was packaged as if it was new from the factory. The package had that fresh Chinese plastic scent which was pleasant to see. When I connected the headphones to my phone, they were called “Dads Powerbeats Pro” so that’s the only sign that they had ever been used. I wonder if that was a real dad or some dude calling himself dad. Either way for $99 it’s a big dub
Feb 20, 2021 18:38Perfect brand new condition overall sound quality and battery life is amazing and protective charging case is great I basically love these because AirPods and oem Apple pods that come with phone do not fit in my earlobes because the slip and fall right out these beats go over the ear so they and fit perfect

Nov 06, 2021 10:05I received on 3-23 and opened on 3-26 to notice the color was actually orange, maybe I missed something in the description but I know dang on well LAVA RED shouldn't look anything like orange or a tangerine color..very disappointed in the color, I can't imagine what the other colors describe actually look like in person. Shoot I thought I was color blind for a few minutes...view the pics below and be the judge for yourself
The sound and fit or perfect
Mar 26, 2021 21:01These are the best wireless earbuds I have ever owned. 119 $ referbished. Can't beat it. I guess I got lucky cause. They were like new. When I got them
Jan 01, 2020 21:25After sometime with the Powerbeats Pro,
I come across some issues that I thought only I was having. For starters, I bought mine brand new, if i'm not mistaken. The Lava Red, is not red, it's orange. It's a little misleading and makes it look like you have a hearing aide.
The first issue I had was after fully charging both pods, my phone constantly told me the right ear bud was at 0% but my mac said it was 99%. They often interfere with each other. I can't use my phone and my mac at the same time. If I'm watching something the mac and pick up my phone, it automatically switches to my phone. I know I can just turn blue tooth off, but this wasn't an issue when I had the regular airpods from apple.
The distance thing is weird too. With the regular airpods, I could roam about freely in the house without any cut off. These however are so weird. If I cover the bud with my hand, it loses connection. that's weird to me. Never saw that coming.
The PROS
I wasn't blessed with the best earshape so pods of every kind I've tried them all. These will stay on. I often lose my buds but everytime I fell asleep with them on, they're just chilling on my ear still. Dead battery but that's not the point.
I really like these headphones. I want to give it five stars but I just can't. The only 5 star thing about it is the buttons it has and the form around the ear. Everything else is just basic.
I still recommend this to anyone who don't use the phone much. Always on the road and has trouble keeping ordinary airpods on.
Oct 18, 2021 03:10Pretty great quality for being refurbished, I’ve had my Doubts but so far so good the beats work just like brand new and literally they look brand new I highly recommend it .
Jun 01, 2021 02:02Tune in to your favorite stations with this GPX portable AM/FM shortwave radio. A digital clock with a single alarm helps you keep time, while a 3.5mm jack lets you connect headphones for a quiet listening experience. This GPX portable AM/FM shortwave radio features a carrying handle for simple portability.
The GPX- portable AM/FM Shortwave radio is a fantastic radio. It has good reception of AM and FM stations as well as some of the shortwave stations that come in. The digital readout is great for tuning in precisely to the radio station you want. It comes with an adapter but can also be used with 3 size D batteries (not included). I am pleased with this purchase.
Apr 22, 2020 09:36I wanted a basic radio to listen to my local AM station, one that used replaceable batteries/AC adapter, and was larger than the pocket size radios. It seems to receive FM ok, and I haven't really seriously tried SW listening. It keeps good time. Have not needed it for an alarm. The rotary tuner provides a digital readout, but is kind of touchy. I prefer direct tuning, or at least, search ability, but I usually just leave the tuner on my local AM station anyhow. It provides the performance I expected for $20.00.
Sep 08, 2020 14:55I bought it for the drive in theater so I can be outside in my chair watching the movie and it worked out great for me.
Jun 12, 2020 17:05Nice, mellow sound for the AM/FM stations. Have been able to pick up 1 SW station; instructions with radio indicate that reception for SW stations can be spotty. Great, however, for AM/FM. Wish instructions had noted whether there is a plastic sheet over the power area on the front of radio; am leaving it although it looks less "shiny" than it should.
Jan 23, 2021 06:53Great radio for $20. Comes with A/C adapter as well.
Jul 08, 2020 20:06I wanted a radio that I can take outside and listen to local stations. This does what it should do. The digital tuning is simple. The sound quality is OK. On balance, this radio is well worth the low cost.
Sep 04, 2020 16:43This product was well worth the small investment. The excellent reception, ease-of-use, and AC adaptability, brought happy moments to a mundane environment.
Aug 20, 2021 16:32keep it for emergecies good price. Trying to figure out the shortwave function.
Aug 28, 2020 19:36Listen to your favorite albums and audiobooks on the go with this Memorex portable CD player. The 40-second anti-skip protection function for CDs ensures smooth, uninterrupted listening, while the dynamic bass boost system delivers rich sound. This Bluetooth Memorex portable CD player features an LCD screen and digital control buttons for conveniently choosing tracks and adjusting volume.
So when I got this product, I thought it was going to be a relive of my 90s days --- well it was more of a 90s reboot! Firstly, the anti-skip protection is way better than the old days. I don't think perfect skip protection can exist with actual CDs, but I do feel this is as good as it's gonna get. You also get the CD experience completely wireless this time around if you so choose.
Yes, this one is BLUETOOTH so I can play my old CDs on my bluetooth speakers, headphones, even in my car. Had some re-pairing issues, but I even have that problem with recent standard products too, like some other earbuds I have.
It also has the Bass Boost feature from before and this was a REALLY welcome throwback!
The cons? Just one for me --- just like the old days, it is battery powered (double As) and does not come with an AC adapter --- I would have to buy that separately. Nonetheless, the memories and the upgrade to the old style are worth the price for this fun throwback.
Apr 22, 2020 08:27Gas prices are under $2.00 and I'm reviewing a CD player. What year is it!?!? But, to be fair, this isn't quite like the CD players of the 90's. This CD Player has Bluetooth and far better electronic skip protection than my old CD players did back in the day. It isn't a flawless experience, but if you're looking to add a CD player to your car or want to connect without wires to your Bluetooth speakers and headphones, then dust off your CD wallet and prepare for a blast from the past.
Bluetooth: So, the big selling feature of this CD player is the included Bluetooth connectivity. With Bluetooth, you can connect this player to your portable speakers and wireless headphones. Connection isn't without problems, though. To get Bluetooth to work, you have to turn on the feature each time you start the CD player. It isn't enabled by default. Second quirk is I found myself constantly having to re-pair devices after I had either shut down the CD player or the Bluetooth device. It wasn't a consistent problem; some headphones stayed connected while some speakers did not. But it was a bit more difficult than turning on the devices and having a solid connection each time.
Features: Everything works well. Volume control is digital. The electronic skip protection worked well for my walks and car rides. The buttons on the top of the player are easy enough to use.
The player comes with 2 AA batteries, but no power cable. You can hook up a 4.5v AC adapter, but you will need to buy that separately. With the added feature of Bluetooth connectivity, it would have also been nice to have had a micro or mini USB power port, too. But, I guess that would have been asking too much.
As I said above, anti-skip works well. If you want, you could easily hook this player up to a car's auxiliary audio port. Many vehicles today are foregoing CD players in lieu of huge tablet like displays. If you are looking for an automotive solution, this worked well for me. I didn't experience skips, and the controls on the top of the drive were easy enough to access without taking my eyes off the road.
So, in conclusion, while Bluetooth works, it is a bit more quirky than I would like. As a portable CD player, the drive works well and Bluetooth does work if you are okay with constantly re-enabling and syncing devices.
Apr 17, 2020 13:26I’m what you’d call an “Elder Millenial” just old enough to have a vast CD collection that I started buying when I got my first job in High School. I hadn’t used them in a while, but it still is satisfying to grab a disc, load it into the CD player and press play. This Memorex CD player feels kinda like the ones I used to own and use in high school and in my
Early 20s. It feels sturdy yet flimsy. I don’t think it would survive a fall from waist height. So I don’t plan on jogging with this anywhere. I strictly use it while sitting at home playing video games or doing work on my laptop. It’s a great way to listen to an album distraction free. No notifications or phone calls and texts from my phone to interrupt my music. This is honestly the best part about having a dedicated music / cd player. The uninterrupted music experience alone is worth the purchase. I wanted to give it a 4 star rating because even though it has blue tooth, I could not get any of my Bluetooth headphones to pair with it. My headphones aren’t smart enough on their own to just connect to the CD player. However, I believe this would be great for someone who owns a car that has Bluetooth capability but no CD player. The CD player pairs easily with a cars Bluetooth system. This is a great and affordable way to have a CD player in your car. The CD player comes with a pair of headphones, they’re fine, and they work, but I always recommend using a pair of over the ear headphones for an immersive music listening experience. Battery life is fantastic. I’m going on about 5 hours of music listening with the same two AA batteries installed. There’s no mention of battery life. But this certainly runs longer than the CD players I owned back in high school. Build quality is as expected. Not the most heavy duty but not too cheap either. Don’t drop it though. The electronic skip protection works good enough to walk around with it in hand and I’m sure it’ll work great in the car too. I’m happy with it, I think you will be also.
Apr 18, 2020 15:47It was a pleasure to have time to listen to my CD collection on this very cool throwback CD player.
Call me old fashioned but I like to have devices that do what they were designed to do. A CD player or radio for music, a GPS for directions, etc. With streaming if I walk away, it stops playing music. But with this, the music continues to play. I really like that. And it plays mP3 files too, so that can give you much longer playtime than a regular CD.
Comes with nice earbuds that stay in!
Apr 17, 2020 10:44Great CD player, I know, in this day and age, CD's may not be what they were before, however some, like me still have a collection of CD's that you may still want to listen to. This portable player is very lightweight (I like the color too) and it has Bluetooth, a feature for these modern days! They include a nice pair of wired earbuds, but with Bluetooth, you can pair your favorite ones (or you can pair it to a set of speakers/home theater, if it has Btooth). I like the press on buttons on top for volume (no more spinning wheel on the side). They also include a pair of batteries. Keep some handy, because although it has port for a DC/car adapter, its not included (but you can buy it separately). Sound quality is great, and it has a boombost feature, but my guess is battery life would be less if you use it.
I highly recommend it for anyone that still wants to listen to their CD collection, albeit with a nice pair of bluetooth modern earbuds/speakers!
Apr 26, 2020 20:18It has been a while since I have not listened to my music CD collection -especially since I put them away in CD bookcases. So, looking at this Memorex Bluetooth CD Player was a very welcome experience.
The CD player is exactly what you would expect or remember. It has the stereotypical clamshell design and it is made of plastic. It seems decently well built. It is light and can be handled easily in one hand. I will say that, as it has always been the case, it would not be a good idea to drop it. It has a pleasant retro aesthetic with black and neon green trim. As far as portability, I would not say this is exactly the case, as it does not feature any belt clips or carrying case. It does include a 100-second anti-skip feature though, which is effective while moving it around. The player has a monochrome digital display that shows the usual information such as track, time, mode, etc. It has the usual tactile buttons such as play, pause, forward, back, stop, Bluetooth/mode, program, ESP (anti-skip) and +/- volume. They are responsive and feel very clicky. On the side of the player, there is the open slider, headphone jack, DBBS (bass boost), and a DC power input. I thought it was rather strange to have this DC input as the power pack was not included, and it may be a bit of a hassle to find one that fits. I think this should have been a micro USB input or something more modern as those can be found everywhere. It comes with two AA batteries.
Memorex included a pair of black headphone buds. While this is nice, in my opinion, they are terrible, and sort of detract the whole deal. They have ear fins and they fit fine. However, the sound was incredibly tinny and there is absolutely no bass. I thought that might improve with a different tip size. To my amazement, the whole head came apart simply by attempting to pull the tip off. This would have been infuriating, had I not reminded myself about the retail price of the unit (not an excuse).
So, the player works as expected. The lid opens easily by using the slider and stays open. It makes a nice click when closing it and feels secure. Discs fit well and do not wobble. I used high-grade headphones to test the sound and listened to different music genres. Being that these are actual CD’s, the sound reproduction should be of decent quality. The truth is that is was OK -at least to my ears. Personally, I would have liked more clarity, but it is what it is. Activating the DBBS extra bass boost adds much-needed excitement but also distortion at higher volumes. I found that playing music at about 15% or less was more than enough as these pump out very loud sound.
The player also features Bluetooth 5.0. Pairing is simple, although one must ensure to activate the pairing is being done at the same time on both devices. The sound quality is also alright. Unfortunately, the bass boost does not work in wireless mode, and so the sound depends on the headphones being used. The connection is decent since it did not drop or stutter at long distances -even thorough a wall and a couple of corners. I also tried it with my Bluetooth speaker and again, the experience was just alright.
Now, will admit that I have been spoiled by digital media, especially now that high-quality transmission is a thing, and the wireless experience is here to stay. However, the nostalgia was strong with this one; the same as when one is holding a book or magazine. The tactile feedback, handling (or dusting off) CD’s, and actually operating a machine, bring memories that many would think is certainly worth the asking price.
Apr 17, 2020 15:24Really Nice Low Profile Bluetooth CD Player.
It was really easy to pair with several audio systems, speakers and even a 2020 Toyota Camry which lacks a CD player as many new cars do.
In my test in the car the CD player provided a crisp clean sound through the speakers in the car that sounded perfect and the player played in any position and didn't jump, skip or flutter with a few vertical and horizontal shakes I did to simulate hitting a bump in the road. It is a little easier than putting the CD's on a flash drive and gives you the ability to grab other CD's at the last minute for a trip without putting them on your phone or a flash drive.
When my Dad rides with me, he likes to bring his own CD's to listen to and I really dont have any of that music (or want it LOL)
The headphones included are really mediocre in sound quality but probably par for the course in inexpensive earbuds.
My one wish for something it does not have would be the optional ability to use it powered from a power supply and not two AA batteries all the time
Apr 21, 2020 14:11I consider myself one of the first to always use and buy technology firsthand, but at the same time, I love, cherish, and miss to use old tech such as Sony Walkman, iPod Classic, etc. This Memorex Portable CD Player is literally made me happy, for the first impression when unboxed it, I felt so happy to use and listen to CDs tracks. I have many CDs and I still use them these days but on the shelf and power audio system. This CD player took me back to the '80s and '90s which is my favorites years. Build quality is acceptable, not high finish, 2 AA batteries-powered, 40 seconds anti-skip protection "ESP", the sound is good but not the best, quiet when the music being played, earbuds are useless and not comfortable but alternatively, I got the BT function to pair up my own Bluetooth-enabled headphones and boom! The music seemed amazing! compact and quiet with BT is all what I need. I loved it!!!
Apr 20, 2020 18:34Listen to your favorite music on the go with this Memorex armband radio. The digital AM/FM radio offers access to multiple stations, while an LCD screen ensures easy navigation across different frequencies. This Memorex armband radio has a built-in bass boost system for versatile audio options and a digital clock to keep track of time.
Memorex - Armband Radio MR700GN
Sometimes I want to hear new music, or stay connected to local or world events. The Austin area has some great radio stations and they offer a broad variety of programming for everyone’s taste. The memorex Armband radio is a really easy, cheap, and convenient way to work around the yard, or walk around the neighborhood while staying connected to local or world news or the music scene. My wife grabbed this before she went out to plant her spring garden, leaving behind her giga-dollar phone. She tends to be risk-aversive.
OPERATION: The included batteries should last for a long time, because there is no backlighting for the clock/radio LCD screen. Presets for the radio require you to manually scan to find and save each station by holding down the Preset button. It looks like 10 AM and 10 FM stations can be saved.
There is an included set of earbuds with 3 pairs of ear-tips for a comfortable fit. The earbuds have those odd "wings" which are very helpful keeping the buds in place. The volume is easy to find and adjust. There is no variable tone control, but there is a bass boost.
PERFORMANCE: This is over-the-air radio, delivered by earbuds. AM radio is no better and no worse than any other source (car, fancy table radio, boombox) I’ve ever used. It’s prone to severe tone limitations and some underlying noise. The key issue for most people with AM radio is reception, and the Memorex finds a lot of local stations.
FM ought to have much nicer sound quality and the Memorex does not disappoint. Most stations are quiet with a natural sound quality. It’s very listenable and the Memorex found every station I’m familiar with and had no trouble bringing in stations my new car could not. This is a strong radio. A number of stations popped in with full stereo signals, with NO hiss or accompanying noise. Very nicely done.
Not so nice was that Bass boost. It wickedly rolled off the high frequencies and the bass was excessive. I was perfectly OK with the sound unmodified, using the included earbuds. UPDATE: I experimented with a favorite, high quality set of earbuds in place of the included Memorex earbuds. Now I found the radio sound too bright and the Bass boost made everything sound normal, even improved. Make of this what you will.
Because the technology seems simple, I do wonder if the radio could have been even smaller and lighter. That would make it easier to lighten up on the armband which is a bit rough and stiff.
SUMMARY: This Memorex Radio is a bit of a throw-back in time, but a credible argument can be made for a simple, rugged, inexpensive, portable nice performing radio that supplies a limitless “stream” of music at no additional cost for the media. Yep. I can recommend this Memorex radio.
Apr 16, 2020 09:38I grew up with Memorex cassette players, CD boomboxes and even the old CRTs. Electronics have come a very long, long way since I’ve owned those devices, but sometimes a throwback AM/FM radio from yesteryear can come in very handy in this day and age.
This AM/FM radio does exactly what you expect it to do, and that’s to pick up your local radio broadcasts. It has an LCD display to present time, AM/FM frequency and preset station numbers. I found it very easy to navigate radio stations, volume and preset controls.
All buttons are rubber:
Tune Up/Down buttons, and tuning is manual press by press; if you hold a tune up/down button, it will seek until it finds the first signal broadcast.
BBS/Time set button; hold it down to set time using the tune up/down buttons, or simply press it to enable and disable bass boost
Preset/Alarm button for setting preset stations or setting a personal alarm.
An AM/FM button to toggle modulations.
An on/off/lock radio button
Volume Up/Down
It comes with a pair of 3.5mm earbuds. They are decent, but don’t expect high fidelity sound out of them. They do come with ear tips to best fit your ear canals and have a rubber hook that keeps the earbud in place. You can always use your own favorite pair.
You can also wear the radio on your arm with the included armband. The strap is an elastic band with a velcro closure. The elastic will help keep fitment comfortable during long periods of use.
Since the radio itself doesn’t have an external antenna, the radio signal may seem spotty at times. This is the only negative I can find. Otherwise, sound output is great once locked into a broadcast. The bass boost can be overbearing so I don’t use it as much.
This review is being written during an unprecedented time and many of our devices today rely on internet connections. During this uncertain time, it’s very comforting to know that you have a tried and true device that can pick up broadcasts from your local radio stations, especially if the grid goes down. Hear your favorite local radio stations and sports games (when they come back), and listen to your local government for any updates to your community.
Apr 18, 2020 20:03OK man, this thing is truly a blast from the past. I'm talking 1987, mulletts for the dudes and tall hairspray for the ladies. I'm talking cassette tapes, indoor malls, free Red Barn Farms (real name changed to protect the innocent) samples and then the Orange J drink place and the giant pretzel, bandannas and ripped jeans... And you remember the old smoking area's? Yeah, it's that cool!
OK, trip down memory lane done, lets talk about the unit. It's a lightweight AM/FM radio. I know, not very romantic, but totally 80's, so that IS romantic!
Very easy to use, multiple pre-sets, built in digital (yeah baby, you heard me, DIGITAL!) clock. You can use the included arm/wrist band or remove that and use standard belt clip. Oh, the technology!
It comes with batteries and serviceable headphones. Headphones are comfy and have the built in little ear-hook thingy that keeps them in firm place even under a decently brisk jog or gym workout.
The sound quality is decent. I mean its a portable AM/FM stereo radio, so it is what it is. An audiophile would probably find the sound disappointing, but this is not intended for that guy or gal.
I really like it for it's simplicity, function and blast from the past pure simple awesomeness.
In all, I would recommend it to a friend!
Apr 16, 2020 15:02--- SETUP ---
The setup of this Memorex armband radio is quick and simple. In the box, you get the main unit with the armband pre-attached, a separate pouch with AA batteries, wired headphones, instruction manual and warranty documents. Just insert batteries, plug headphones, and you’re set.
--- FEATURES ---
The key feature of this radio is that it has an IPX4 rating, which means that it is sweatproof but not waterproof. It has an alarm feature, 20 programmable stations, and auto-find station buttons. There is a removable strap that can warp around your arm. If removed, it can be used as a belt clip.
--- PERFORMANCE ---
The performance of the radio is fair. The strap is big enough to wrap around thick arms, but thinner arms may have a good chunk of strap flapping around when running. It feels secure and doesn’t slip down when running. Occasionally, I did get static when listening to various stations and sometimes, the autofind would land on a station that was very static-y and only one more find away from a clearer channel. All the buttons do feel like they are accessible while working out.
--- EXPECTATIONS ---
The product meets my expectations with a few caveats. It definitely works as intended but it is also not the best radio experience I’ve had. Though I appreciate the return of old tech in today’s world, a few modern conveniences would be very welcomed. For example, the LCD screen is very dim and often, I didn’t know if it was on or off, or whether I was in AM of FM. I would love this radio if it gave me the option to use bluetooth headphones and not just wired ones. If it had a speaker, it would also be amazing, though I understand that those additions would probably increase price.
--- VALUE ---
At the price point of this radio, it makes for a great gift for people who still prefer listening to radio without the nuances that modern tech brings with it.
--- APPROVAL ---
I highly recommend this product for people who have relatives that still listen to the radio and could benefit from putting it on their arm or even clip it to their belt. It is perfect for hiking and experiencing the world in the days of yore.
Apr 18, 2020 16:24Looking for something simple and priced economically to use while your exercising, walking, jogging, or going bicycling? Look no further. The Memorex - Armband Radio is meant for you.
For the size of this radio, it surprisingly packed a punch! When listening to certain radio stations with higher wattage broadcasting output, it has great sound quality. The armband radio is not only compatible with the earbuds it came with, but also your standard stereo headphones. I tested this armband radio outdoors as well as indoors. Being an essential worker, I took it to my job and the frequency was good. The radio comes with an LCD display. Like how the plus volume is on top and the low volume is on the side, which makes it easy in locating the buttons. You are also able to set the time. The armband is powered by batteries. For those that like to keep it simple and not mess with a bunch of fancy gadgets, this is perfect. The armband has velcro on it for you to wrap around your arm to secure it. I would like for the armband to have had a glow in the dark feature on the display or a built-in light. However, for the price point, you can't beat the price!
Apr 22, 2020 00:10I got this armband radio for listening to public radio and news outside during my morning walks or while working in the backyard garden. The box includes the portable radio, wire in-ear headphones, two extra pairs of replacement silicon earbuds caps, the adjustable arm straps, and a couple of AAA batteries. The earbuds work fine, and they don’t tangle very easily. The sound is surprisingly good, considering it is a small radio. Reception is good, especially when using outdoor. The tuner, volume, and other buttons are simple to use. Changing channels is quick and easy. I like the design that the radio can be detached/clipped while wearing the arm strip. It can be worn with the arm strip or with just the clip. Both arm strips and the clip can are removable. This armband radio is excellent and useful for many activities. Also, it is a good idea to own a battery-powered radio, especially during an emergency. It is an essential part of an emergency preparedness kit. Overall, this radio works very well for me, and I have no complaints.
Apr 20, 2020 18:07This wearable and portable AM/FM radio kind of reminds me when we wore a portable Sony Walkman in the late 1980 into the 1990's. That was the first wearable music player that we could take with us on the go: to use for exercise, meditate, or relax at a pool or beach with.
This portable armband radio came with, see attached pictures, a digital lime-green outlined black radio, 2 AAA batteries, a Velcro armband that was already attached to the radio unit, a belt clip, and a set of earbuds with 2 additional eartips so that there are small, medium. or large bud covers.
The radio is about 4.75" from east to west and about 2.5" north to south and very light weight. The earbuds have a very long cord so that whether you are short or tall, wear the radio either around your arm with the armband or attach it with the belt clip, it is plenty comfortable even if you are exercising or swinging your arms back and forth while running. . Additionally, I noticed that the earbuds are marked R and L, so there is no guessing as to which ear to insert them and they are very secure-fitting in the ear as the manufacturer claims. .
So, I am in a very rural area and the AM reception is so/so, whereas the FM is much better. The bass boost is a nice feature for such an inexpensive radio, it is nice that it has an alarm, but I do not know why it would need one, and the presets are also a nice feature.
I live on a lot of acreage and we mow about 5 of the acres around us. I plan on listening to this radio while riding around on my John Deere and since the price point on this Armband Radio is inexpensive, I will not be upset if this radio somehow got damaged while mowing or gardening versus using my phone for music or other streaming. This is also supposed to be waterproof so whether I would be sweating during a really hot summer day, or somehow mow through a watery area, that should not be a problem. However, the box shows the LCD display as if it were lit in the lime green color, but my radio does not display like that at all and can find anyway to make it brighter or dimmer. .
Apr 18, 2020 22:49A great radio for jogging! But the headset broke after 16 days, two days after the return policy allows for returns. This is the second time I've had trouble with the headset. Not hard to replace, just inconvenient.
Otherwise, a great radio to be used when exercising.
Nov 03, 2021 23:26Enhance your audio setup with this Pyle PT390AU stereo receiver, which handles up to 300W of power to drive 4 loudspeakers (not included). An AM/FM radio with controls allows you to enjoy your favorite music and talk programming.
was glad to find a receiver/tuner that didn't require a tv to set up, but this unit is sooo annoying to use.
when power on, does not go back to last selection/setting, rotates thru almost all options but never picks tuner which is my primary use. so have to manually select tuner, unit goes back to the bottom of the fm scale (which is not a station in my area), so have to manually select my preferred station. the unit also increases the volume to 2.5 times my previous setting, so have to reset that.
had hoped to be able to use the remote to turn on/off tuner from across the room, but power on/off button doesn't work on remote, though considering all the manual adjustments required just to listen to my usual fm station, a working remote is the least of its problems.
as mentioned in previous reviews, forget about using this as an am radio receiver.
on a positive note, the sound quality is good from the fm tuner and cd player
Jan 15, 2017 11:39Would have ranked Excellent, with the exception of no on/off power on remote, or no channel A B selector. But if you can live without those, this is a rockin little receiver!! We purchased for our garage, and couldnt be happier with the sound quality and price!
Jun 08, 2021 09:49This amp does well at high volume, Like I was up in the club. But when it turns on it starts at 20db and it’s too loud so I have to turn it down to 6. It’s got an annoying clicking sound and the amp itself is loud.. if you want to blast house music all night it does that but nothing at low volume.
Oct 19, 2018 17:25I was shocked at how good this receiver sounds for the price. It goes well Sony's bookshelf speakers and 115w subwoofer. It's a match from heaven.
Oct 31, 2021 10:39An excellent receiver for the money. Great price and great performance.
Oct 23, 2021 10:53Works perfect, just needed to read the owners manual and play around with stuff to figure out how to get it to do what I wanted it to do.sound is better than I expected.
Jun 19, 2021 06:37Doesn't have the power i thought it would have. Hard to program new stations. No range on antenna.
Nov 05, 2021 17:16Ver y nice product love it works very well need a cd player now
Nov 05, 2021 15:30Play your classic tapes with this GPX cassette player. The AM/FM radio lets you tune in to your favorite station, while the included stereo earbuds support private listening. This GPX cassette player has a built-in microphone, enabling clear sound capture when recording, and the analog volume control offers seamless operation.
I'm very satisfied with this product. I wanted an inexpensive tape cassette player and this also has a built-in AM-FM radio which was a bonus. It's not a high-tech item but it does the job I wanted it for and the radio was an added extra I wasn't looking for but glad to have it.
May 21, 2021 17:13Looks good but the sound is not good, the old one had better sound that this one.
Mar 12, 2021 15:54Basic cassette player, purchased it to play some of my 80s tunes. Good memories.
Oct 31, 2020 06:52I was disappointed with this radio - ONLY - because it does - NOT - have FM stereo - I am not talking about the 1 speaker on the front of the unit - I am talking plugging in a head set - THERE IS NO FM STEREO it is - MONO - I will end up keeping it around the house in case the power goes out - BUT STILL - 20.00 plus tax - NOT COOL -
Apr 18, 2020 12:38The day that I received this cassette player, I was so excited. The evening that I received this item, put in batteries, it did not play, I was sad, thought I would have to send it back. The next day before I boxed it up, I decided to try it one more time, it played and continues to play. Because it was cold, it needed time to warm up. I LOVE IT!
Feb 06, 2021 15:16Nice product- convenient size - ease of use - good price
Feb 12, 2021 16:28Cassette playets are hatd to come.by and best buy didnt dissapoint with ths am/fm combo.
