Love the set up by turtle beach. Makes flight sim 2020 a million times better. Great that it works with windows as well. Sucks that the price went up $30 for original but what can we do?

    Fantastic controller option

Excellent controller option. Works with many different things. I'm able to use this on my PC as well as the PS3 and the Nintendo Switch if I pair it with an Xbox controller and the Cronus Zen adapter.

    Perfect even on PS4

I use this with my PS4 since Sony doesn’t make one for PlayStation. It cost a little more than I wanted to spend to get it to work but it was worth it. If u plan on using this on PS4 ull have to buy a controller converter I bought the Titan Two which was around $100. But it’s plug and play and easy to connect. The Xbox adaptive controller lets u add whatever kind of pedal or button or trigger u want as long as it has the 3.5mm jack connection.

Add accessibility to any game for your console.

I needed to add accessibility for our video game console. Makes controlling the game much more manageable for my wife who has trouble handling the smaller standard controller. Easy to program.

    Color Splash

I’m a big fan of everything red, so I very much had to have this controller for my Series X gaming sessions.

It’s a perfect shade of red, feels well built and good in your hands. New features on this model include a share button, updated D-pad, matte finish on buttons and tactile dots on triggers for better grip.

My only two complaints are the red doesn’t apply to the backside, instead going for a white finish. And the buttons do click a little much compared to let’s say a DualSense controller.

The Xbox series x pulse red controller works pretty good for a pc gamer like myself. First of all it synced really well with the wireless bluetooth connection when I turned it on to my nzxt pc computer on my desk. Also the thumb sticks are pretty stable when playing games no drift problems at all since purchasing this controller since then. I recommend this controller to somebody looking for a good wireless controller for pc gaming.

    Better than a wired controller

I’ve owned this controller for almost a year now after getting it on Black Friday and it’s been great. I use it on my computer since I don’t own an Xbox and I didn’t have much of a problem with connecting it or keeping it connected. I find it much better to have one with bluetooth instead of one with a cable since I broke my old one by accidentally dropping it on the floor which caused it to not charge properly. It’s held up well over time and I’m expecting it to last a lot longer. Only complaint I’ve had was with changing out the batteries. Unless you get rechargeable ones, expect to be swapping them out every 40 or so hours of use, which still isn’t bad.

This controller is great. The colors are displayed exactly like in the photo. Just like any Xbox One controller, the buttons and joysticks are well put together, with no damage done to it upon its delivery. My son uses it everyday to play, and it hasn't broken since December of last year. I would recommend buying the controller with the 2-year protection guarantee.

This is a great controller a Microsoft brand controller will always be. Better than an off brand controller (except maybe scuf) it’s great if you don’t want to spend $150 on an elite controller( which I do recommend) and will last you good it has a 3.5mm headphone jack and Bluetooth cenectivity so you can use it on your phone or computer to navigate and play games this particular controller came with a bit of a sticky trigger but was easily fixed with some rubbing alchohol.

    Tough competition to Xbox controller

I can't believe I'm saying this but I love this controller more than my Xbox one. The only thing that I slightly dislike on this is the fact that it is not wireless. It comes with a 10' long cable (a braided USB-C to USB-A) which is more than enough for me but I'm accustomed to play with the wireless ones. So it was little hard for me initially to get used to it. Controller feels great and seems to work perfectly with my PC. The controller feels great in hand and buttons are solid. There's a lot of value in this controller with features such as textured grip, programmable buttons, Series X Share button, and the built in audio controls. Connecting this controller to my Xbox was a breeze and I was able to get it to work easily. It was practically plug and play. This controller has amazed me in it's quality and feel overall. The programmable buttons on the rear can even be programmed to a sequence of buttons rather than a single input as well! The vibration motors work great and it's super comfortable. It truly feels like an Xbox One controller (honestly better due to the grippy texture of the rear plate. It feels like mid-weight as it is not too heavy nor too light. Nice clicky buttons, good spring on the controller paddles. I used it to play Metal Gear Solid V game and I can't tell how many times those two buttons on the rear of the controller have come in handy. It's literally a game changer. I cannot speak for long term use and how well it holds up, but out of the box it feels super high quality compared to the cheaper controllers as well as the official Xbox and PlayStation controllers. The more I use it the more I fall in love with it. Turtle beach is a renowed company and it has lived up to its expectations. Good quality controller, sturdy, very responsive buttons... over all very nice quality. And this comes from an avid gamer, and one who has bought other 3rd party controllers online, which were usually subpar. Feels exactly like an xbox one controller except the handles are textured and easier to hold onto for longer periods of time. So far, I couldn't be happier with this. I waited an entire week and have used this controller pretty heavily before I could write a review because I wanted to be thorough. Well here you go, my honest opinion: 5 out of 5 stars!

Used for 2 weeks and issues already

I wanted to get some good playtime in on this controller before I sent a review. First impresstion is how light the controller is compared to others like it. Setting mapping in game to compensate playstyle is quick and effortless. The 10 ft cable is more than enough for me and the enhanced sound is amazing I can hear everything clear and crisp. RECENTLY I STARTED EXPERIENCING an issue where the controller will stop movement mid game still powered on and I will hear a high pitched noise and no game noise. I have to quickly remove the cable and then plug back in and everything works fine. This is only after about 2 hours of the controller being played with. I have slightly bumped the usb c cable or moved with my fingers and without removing the cable the controller will power off and back on immidiatly. I have had issues when mapping the left bumper where i am noy able to use the bumper and the mapped button below. Because of these issues i give 3 stars. Day 1 purchaser would recomend if bugs are worked out.

    Affordable and Powerful for Cross-platform

To get right to it, this is a great controller and a truly remarkable value at this price point. I’ve used Turtle Beach audio devices for decades and I’ve never been disappointed.

I’m mostly a PC gamer but I have an Xbox One S as well and I love having a single controller that works easily and with almost exactly the same functionality on both platforms. The only thing that doesn’t work on both platforms is the “chat mix” which controls chat volume separately from game volume. Not a big deal to me personally but worth noting if chat is a big part of your gaming.

    Highlights:

    - Cross-platform compatibility.

    - The integrated audio controls were the standout feature to me. Having the volume controls, EQ settings, and mic-mute all handy was fantastic.

    - The 4 EQ presets were basic but adequate (Signature, Bass boost, Treble-boost, Bass+Treble boost), especially for quick on-the-fly adjustments. I found myself continually using the “Signature” EQ preset, it was easily the most balanced sound profile to my ears.

    - Superhuman audio -- So far as I can tell this is more of a 5th EQ setting that highlights frequencies in the typical footstep/reloading/creaking/door range to draw your attention to them over other ambient sounds, its effectiveness will vary game to game and I personally didn’t think it helped much. But it doesn’t hurt to have the option.

    - The programmable buttons were useful to map to specific controller actions.

    - On a PC, the Recon doesn’t show as an audio device until you plug in a headset. Plug in a headset though and it’ll show up as “Headphones (Xbox Controller)” in a few seconds, and will become a separate audio-out selectable device. Not surprisingly, all of the Recon audio controls (EQ, Volume, Mic-mute) work even on PC. As noted above, only “chat mix” doesn’t work in Windows 10, and that’s documented in the guide so it’s to be expected.

The one thing: I loved almost everything about this controller except one thing, and this one thing is going to be pretty subjective so I consider it more an observation than a criticism. Although the controller is very similar physically to an original Xbox controller, there’s just enough of a difference that I found my hands starting to cramp during gaming sessions. I’ve compared it side-by-side with an original Xbox controller and the main difference to me seems to be that the original Xbox controller palm holds are slightly more meaty and simply fit into my palms better. It may well be something I’ll just get used to, and I hope that’s the case, because this is a powerful and affordable controller that packs a lot of additional convenient capabilities into the standard form factor and I would absolutely recommend this to anyone, especially cross-platform gamers.

Great sound and control in one

I’m using this Recon controller with a matching Turtle Beach Recon headset connected via the 3.5mm plug. Although I’m using the Recon headset, the controller works with any compatible 3.5mm headset. Sound is excellent coming through the controller to the headset and sounds just as good as if the headset were connected directly to the console or PC. The controller can adjust headset volume, mic level and also has EQ and Superhuman hearing features which significantly enhance sound quality when active. The Superhuman hearing amplifies overall sound while placing a heavier emphasis on ambient sounds. The EQ works with presets and offers four sound profiles that place emphasis on bass boost, bass and treble boost, vocal boost and signature sound. The others are self-explanatory but signature sound is more neutral and evenly balanced all around. It’s similar to an EQ with everything zeroed. The mic level controls how loud the mic projects the speaker’s voice. Gaming and music both sound terrific and it is nice to have volume and mic controls with visual indicators conveniently available right on the handset.

The controller looks and functions almost identically to an Xbox controller. Aside from a few minor visual differences, the only significant functional differences are the addition of the sound features, button mapping options and two additional “quick action” buttons on the bottom of the remote. The quick action buttons are mappable and although they may be useful to some users, I personally find them annoying. I have no use for the buttons but constantly find myself accidentally hitting them due to their location and the way I grip the controller. They aren’t currently mapped on this controller, so they’re not functional at the moment and don’t affect gaming but it’s still annoying because they are practically unavoidable. Quick action button issues aside, the controller has a comfortable ergonomic feel similar to the Xbox controller. The grips, triggers and buttons are a little more textured than the Xbox controller which makes them easier to identify during intense gaming. The buttons and analog sticks have good accuracy and responsiveness. The sensitivity of the right stick can be tweaked through the Pro-Aim Focus feature. The controller rumble/vibration also works well when activated.

The only thing that some may consider a con with this controller is that there is no wireless version available at the moment. With the controller wired to the console or PC and the headset wired to the controller, it can get somewhat cumbersome having two cables heading in opposite directions. Thankfully, the cables for both the Recon controller and headphones are lengthy and constructed of durable, tear resistant braided fabric. The detachable USB-C to USB-A controller cable is ten-feet long, which should be adequate length for most stationary usage scenarios. A wired controller may sacrifice some freedom but this particular controller offers added convenience in return. It facilitates headset sound control, mic gain control and on-the-fly button mapping all through the controller rather than being forced to use separate software and hardware for these tasks.

    Price to performance is amazing

I play a lot of pc games. But mainly I put the most hours in on Warzone and FPS games. So naturally I want to use the best controller possible. Normally I use my ps4 controller with the Sony back button attachment that I actually love. But because The ps4 remote is not made for windows like an Xbox controller is, I notice a bit of latency while playing. Not a huge lag. But I can just tell. So I wanted to try a remote that is tailored to work with windows (PC Games). This turtle beach while inexpensive is amazing for the retail price. Other controllers with these amount of features cost at least double. And this is ONLY 59.99$. We have come a long way. Because I love this controller. The difference is very noticeable over the ps4 remote. When aiming with the turtle beach Recon, it feels more so like a mouse while ADSing. Hard to explain but when you get yours you will see what I mean. I did start to see my average kill count go up by at least 2-5 kills in resurgence.

The rumble hits harder and more precise than the ps4 controller. This remote feel like your typical Xbox series x controller but more grip and lighter as well. Doesn’t feel cheap at all. I thought it might lack quality because of the price. But it’s great. Back buttons are maybe not are great as the back button attachment but work perfectly after you program them. Which is easy if you actually read through the user manual. Sound EQ is nice as well. Though with most new games you can tune the Audio for better foot steps. This has that feature built in and will be easier for most gamers. Volume controls and chat controls are also built it which I love. So nice to just click up or down and not have to do that on the pc itself. Awesome job there. Turtle beach has thought of everything. This uses a type C connection but I keep it plugged in either way as it is not wireless. I think that’s where they saved the Money to pass the savings onto us, the gamers. And I appreciate that with the way you things are nowadays.

I promise you will love this controller for both Xbox and PC. But especially PC gaming.

Please note: If you never tried back buttons yet. It’s tough at first but once you are used to it. You won’t ever go back. Turtle beach you have a winner on your hands with this product. Great job!

Enhanced audio and aim, at an affordable price

The Turtle Beach Recon controller for Xbox is a step in right direction for third party Xbox controllers. It’s compatible with the Xbox One, Series X/S and PC. Because it’s designed primarily with the Xbox in mind, the chat mix doesn’t work on PC, but all other functions are compatible.

So what’s different about this controller? The best features are the enhanced audio settings and the Pro-Aim focus mode. The audio presets offer four different EQ enhancements, boosting bass and treble frequencies. I preferred the first setting, which is their signature setting. You can also turn this off. In addition, there’s a Superhuman Hearing mode, that’s basically a mid-range boost, so that you hear enemy footsteps and weapon reloads better. It sounds a little boxy, so I prefer using the EQ boost. I can see myself using it in a competitive game mode, when I’m the only one left on my team and I need to hear everything. The nice thing is that it’s just a click away.

Another neat feature is the mic monitoring. I’ve always had this complaint about the regular controller, including the Elite controller. Not being able to hear myself talk makes me want to speak louder, so hearing my voice back in the headphones is wonderful. There are four volume levels, in addition to turning it off.

The controller has two mappable quick-action buttons. I typically map these to A and B, and that works nicely and it’s easy to change to any button you want. This controller also has the Pro-Aim focus mode. This is a new feature for me and I actually like it a lot. Simply explained, it slows down the aim dramatically when you push the right mappable button. It’s best to reset the button when using this feature, but you can use both at the same time if you’d like. There are four levels, but level 1 already makes a big difference. 3 and 4 practically locks the aim in place, but I’m using a medium/high setting, so you might find these useful, if you use really high aim settings.

The controller feels comfortable in my hands. The textured surfaces feel nice, although it’s an adjustment for me, since I’m used to the smooth surfaces of the first Elite controller. It’s more noticeable on the triggers, because I’m constantly pushing them in. I might prefer less texture there, because they feel just a tiny bit rough on my finger tips.

This controller requires a cable. It’s 10 feet long, so hopefully that’s enough for most people. My Xbox is pretty close to my chair, so the length is perfect. I use a cable anyway, so it doesn’t change anything for me.

I’ve used this on my Xbox One X and Windows 10 PC without any problems. I don’t have an Xbox Series X yet, but I will certainly use this controller when I get it, because it is fully compatible with it.

If you’re looking for better audio and more accurate aim for the same price as a regular controller, the Turtle Beach Recon controller is the one for you!

Great all in one Gaming controller

Turtle Beach's Recon controller really is a all in one gaming controller that should fit just about everyone's needs perfectly. What makes the controller so nice is the fact that you have access to all control necessary for gaming all within fingers reach. The fact that this is a Xbox controller means it fits perfectly for console and PC gaming.

Out of the box its pretty basic, you get the controller and usb-c cable to run the controller. Keep in mind this is a wired controller and is not wireless at least as of writing this review. The controller is well designed fitting comfortably in hand with side cooling grips which act to keep your hands free from sweat while the ridges add for extra grip. The backside of the controller offers two additional paddles which can be used to map your other buttons for quick access. While the front of the controller houses your standard Xbox set up with your X,Y,B,A buttons Turtle beach took it a step further by implementing a volume/chat button, super hearing button, mic mute button, equalizer button and mode select button. One thing to keep in mind is the equalizer is pre-set to four different settings and can not be adjusted, at least not that i could find that is. On the bottom of the controller you will find your 3.5 mm jack which serves as your access port for your audio/chat headset. Once a headset is connected you can then adjust volume and chat controls all via your controller. The volume button will raise or lower in game audio while the chat button will allow you to raise and lower your chat audio allowing you to find that perfect balance between the two. The super hearing button is perfect for those of you in to competitive gaming such as COD, battle royales or other such games. Once activated the audio will change allowing more emphasis on your mids and highs which makes footsteps more distinct. Believe me when i say it is definitely easier to pick up on foot steps or engine noises allowing you to not only tell when someone is coming but also pick up on the direction and distance on which they are closing in on you. The mode button allows you to switch between four different pre set profiles which all change your audio, equalizer and aim settings. Speaking of aim modes Turtle beach implemented a feature called Pro Aim Focus mode. When activated the little crosshair icon will light up on the controller letting you know that pro aim is on. What this does is adjust the sensitivity level on the right joystick based on your play or shooting style. Profile 1 will set the stick to the lowest settings allowing snipers to get a more precise shot while profile 4 will max out your sensitivity allowing run and gunners to get the advantage on the quick draw. One thing i want to touch on that i may of passed up is audio and chat quality. One thing i was worried about with using the controller as a piggyback for your headset was loss of quality. Surprisingly audio quality was very good during my play throughs of cutscenes on solo RPGs. All my mids and lows hit crisp and clean allowing me to feel every bass drop as explosions went off. While playing FPS (first person shooters) i was able to pick up on every footstep and noise near me allowing me to get the upper hand on my enemies. Chat was clean and clear allowing myself to be heard easily as well as allowing my team mates to be heard with no drop outs. Obliviously keep in mind all of this is gonna vary depending on your headset.

Here's my take away from this headset. This is a very nice unit to have, especially at the price point that this unit is coming in at. What sucks is i personally own units that are double and triple the price of this controller and yet this controller performs just as good if not even slightly better in some areas. The controls are very precise and almost no lag exist. Audio is crisp and clear with not a single drop out or latency issue. My only real gripe with the controller (its a small gripe) is the fact that there appears to be no customizable options for this controller. Meaning the joystick tops can not be removed to allow for wider cushions for larger hands. Basically the whole unit appears to be modular making customizable parts almost impossible to achieve on this controller. But that is a minor complaint and one just simply worth noting. Overall if i had this controller before hand then i can promise you i definitely would of never have bought a more expensive controller as this one performs so beautifully. Do yourself a favor and stop looking around and pick yourself up one.

    Bad

Honestly I love the grip in the back the slimmer ness than the x 1. But let me be real fr man I’ve bought 3 of these and each one last only a couple weeks. These new ones are cheaper than the ones before and mainly where it counts, the durability. Charging 60$ for these I don’t know how the Ps5 controller is but if it last longer than 3 months I’d rather buy a Ps5 before any Xbox series console. It’s a d shame.

    Windows Xbox Controller (Reasonably Priced)

Ultra-lightweight (without batteries) and a little less solidly built than the older XBOX PATROL controller. This is a Windows OR an Xbox controller. The older one has a rechargeable battery sealed into the controller which makes it feel a bit heavier. This model uses 2 AA batteries for a wifi connection. A headphone jack and a USB C input for an Xbox S or X gaming console. Happy Gaming!

Very nice for PC gaming. Previously use PDP brand controller but one of button stopped working after 6 months. Got this new original made by MS. Quality is way better and grip is superb. Also, it is plug and play with windows 10. if you need controller for PC gaming get this! Battery is not included but it gets power by USB cable.

Nice Improvement on the Xbox One controller.

    Improvements:

    - Not only did they finally get fix the d-pad, it now has inclined up edges on the d-pad that make it quicker to hit the directions. - There's now a nice textured gripping on the controller handles that used to be only on more expensive versions of the Xbone controller.

    - The Xbox One is forwards compatible so I can use it even now when the Xbox Series are impossible to find.

    Very satisfied.

    Good Controller

Zero problems with it since buying it after playing probably 100+ hours of action RPGs. No issues with drift or buttons no working. No issues with any of the steam games I have tried it on and the controller started working the second I plugged it into my computer. I am using it wired so no can't comment on how it is wirelessly.

    Quality seems good

Holds up just as well as the Microsoft controllers. That doesn’t necessarily say much because all the Microsoft controllers including the Elite series are not built like tanks. Stick drift is almost 100% inevitable. The question is just when. It may be a few days or a few years but most likely somewhere in between. Dropping these controllers seems to speed up that process so try not to drop them.

The back buttons are why I got this. I was moving from an elite 1 controller. Huge savings was number one reason. As far as stick feel this is just like the Microsoft controllers.

The difference is the feel of the buttons. They are not as responsive feeling, almost a bit soft. It’s just a matter of getting used to.

Another difference is hard to explain and I’m not sure if it’s just me or the way this controller is. It always takes two presses of the guide button when I want to go to the menu before the menu pops up. Or when I type the first letter of a message, some weird character pops up and I have to erase it before I can go on to type my message. This sort of thing does not happen in game. Only when navigating Xbox menus and typing messages.

For the price and if you’re going to use the back buttons, it’s worth it. Like I said, quality wise seems on par with the Microsoft brand. Take it from someone who’s owned MANY controllers over the years.

I thought it was a better controller than the actual Xbox controllers once I felt it. It's really nice to hold and the vibration is smooth. But with not even three weeks of use, the left thumbstick is drifting. It may just be a defect in mine which is why I gave it 3 stars instead of 1.

    The Xbox controller we needed!

Purchased for my freshly built PC. Unable to buy a Series X, I built a new PC and to complete the feel of having a new system. I purchased this, the brand new Series X controller with Windows adapter.

Works and installed as it should! Plugged in adapter, let it install itself and it’s drivers, I also plugged the controller into my old Xbox and updated the controller itself. I pressed the sync button on the adapter and controller and boom, it was ready to play!

The new features to the controller is just what it needed. The textured grips on the palm grips and triggers/bumpers are amazingly satisfying. The new d-pad is fantastic and the click is also just super satisfying.

    Happy With My Xbox Controller

I purchased the Xbox controller for my PC and so far I have not had but one small problem upon installing the batteries. At first, it would not power on and I think it was probably because the batteries were not getting a good connection. But after I fooled with It a bit it did finally power on. So with that, I am very well pleased.

Excellent controller. Good texture grip on the sides and the wi-fi adapter works flawlessly. I realize I paid a little more for it but it doesn't matter. I have been playing many different games through steam and the controller works with well with all of them. I recommend this to anyone who plays games that require a controller on their PC. Does it’s job, mostly

I have come across an issue where my connection between my PC and controller will randomly disconnect and try re-syncing. The main reason for this purchase was to have an adapter to avoid Bluetooth connectivity issues. I’ve mainly experienced this if I were to ever connect my controller to my Xbox and then switch to PC. Firmware has been updated, so this is just a pain at times. If not switching back and forth ever, the controller works perfectly. Guess I’ll just use this solely as a PC controller, which I have no issues with.

This is cost me almost $100 to get it here to my house from the store after taxes and all that and I would say it is worth it. It feels like a $100 controller!!!!!! I'd say buy if your into playing pc games with a controller. (It is kind of an experiment or experimental to use a controller to play pc games but this makes it quite the fun experience!) Also you can use it for a x/s series Xbox. I would say this controller beats the ps4 controller I have buy a 99.9 % margin. LOL. Anyway, buy it if you can afford it, it's worth it.

Great alternative to the Elite Series 1 controller

This will be an in-depth review of the Fusion Pro in comparison to the Elite Series 2. I used the Fusion Pro for about 2 weeks. (I never had the series 1 elite, so I can't compare to that, but I would honestly say that the Fusion Pro competes directly with the Elite s1 and not the s2 in terms of features and customization).

As for the Fusion Pro. I can honestly say that @ $80, you are getting a premium feeling product, as far as 3rd party controllers go.

Right out of the box, you are greeted with this big carrying case. I like the material it is made out of compared to the Elite case. You get a nice weight to the controller. Almost as, if not as heavy as the elite s2.

-The feel and texture of the controller is nice. (feels almost similar to the PowerA Enhanced controller). So if you held any PowerA controller before, then the shape is not very different from that. Nice soft finish in the front and a textured grip on the back, though doesn't feel as grippy as the elite s2.

-The sticks are made of qulality plastic and I wish it came with more swappable sticks. The ones with extra height are not that tall. They do add height for better precision, but if you were expecting to get kontrol freek height, then you will be disappointed. Kontrol freeks somewhat fit. I had plenty of times where the kontrol freeks came off the stick during heated battles in Apex. I guess to fix this problem, the stock xbox one controller sticks do fit on the Fusion pro since they are the same shape and have the same oval shape hole on the bottom (I tried it myself). Swapping the sticks and tension rings are not as easy as the elite controller, but easy enough. Just don't try to do it in minimal lighting.

-Stick tension is tighter than the stock xbox one controller. Feels more like the tension you get on the xbox 360 controller. (if you want to compare it to the elite s2 tension, then it will be like if the s2 was set to the first tension setting). The tension rings do a great job making the sticks feel smooth, just like on the s2.

-D Pad is clicky, but not as clicky as the elite s2, but is responsive.

-Buttons are the same, not as clicky, but responsive as well. Never got stuck.

-Bumpers sat a little higher than the elite s2, but was still comfy during gaming.

-Triggers were responsive and had no problems with it.

-As for the trigger stops, they do work as intended, BUT the setting difference between T1 (full press) and T2 (Half press) is very minimal and can't really tell the difference. I don't really see a use for having half press on any trigger stop. People either want full press or very minimal press. The T3 stop honestly feels like the half press when compared to the elite s2. That was one of the cons I had with this controller. I wish they did a better job of making T1 and T2 feel different and T3 having a very short press like on the elite s2 (where it becomes more like a button than a trigger, that's how minimal it is on the elite).

-The paddles are very clicky and are easy to press and work as intended. They are pretty long especially the bottom paddles (from the pics, the bottom paddles are visible in comparison to the elite s2. I think the placement of the paddles compares more to the elite s1, just because of their lengnth. Accidental presses with the top two paddles will be rare or will not happen at all, but my experience with the two bottom paddles, accidental presses will happen.

I'm what you call a "gripper" when holding the controller (using my ring and pinky fingers to hold the controller). So when I had the bottom paddles on, I couldn't hold the controller like I wanted, so I only played with two paddles. Mapping them to any button is easy and can be done while in-game which is nice. You cannot use the xbox controller app to remap/unmap the buttons and paddles. Another con, I wish PowerA sold the mappable pro pack seperately on their site. So in case you need extra paddles or need a replacement pro pack, you can just buy that seperately. On a side note, to combat the problem of long bottom paddles, I would have bought an extra pro pack and used the top paddles as bottom paddles. That way I can hold the controller comfortably w/o having accidental presses.

-Removing and putting paddles back on was not hard, but not as easy as one would like. If you can see on picture 6 (where the paddles are off the pro pack), the pro pack has white markings where you would put the paddles back. Since the pro pack is plastic and the paddles are metal, the repeated on and off of the paddles will bend the plastic surrounding the holes. So be careful when putting them back on.

-The included USB cable (mirco usb, wish they went with type-c), has a locking mechanism when plugged into the controller. I found it very hard to remove once in there. Had to really squeeze the side release buttons to get it off. This could either be a good thing or a bad thing, depends on how you see it. I always unplugged my controller after use, so the difficulty of removing the USB cable was a con for me. I just used the USB cable that came with my old PowerA Enhanced controller.

-3.5mm headphone jack gave me no problems after I updated the firmware. Volume was loud coming out of my headset, mic was clear to others.

To me, was the PowerA Fusion Pro worth $80? I would say yes IF I didn't have my modded xbox controller. What I mean modded is that I had the Collective Minds Mod pack (which made my controller wired and gave me 2 paddles in the back), and 3rd party trigger stops (which was mediocre @ best). Since I only used two paddles on the Fusion Pro, I felt like I already had the same features I was using in my modded xbox controller except the Fusion Pro had better build quality, tension rings, and somewhat better trigger stops. I did end up returning the Fusion Pro and kept my Elite s2.

Now for others who are just coming from a stock xbox controller, I say YES, the Fusion Pro is worth the $80 if you don't want to shell out $100+ for the elite s1 (that's probably out of warranty and is used). I don't want to say Elite s2 because like I said before, IMO the Fusion Pro competes more with the Elite s1 in terms of features and design.

    Good Quality

Bought this controller after I returned the 4th xbox contorller. Wanted to see if this one last me more than a month or two. The quality is good it's heavy as the elite controller the joy sticks are the same if not a tad stiffer than the oem xbox controller. We'll see after a few weeks or months. Programming the back triggers are fast and easy you can do it on the fly takes less than 5 seconds each button to map. A lot of people might not like it since its wired but I prefer wired over wireless.

    Works perfect!

I wanted to upgrade from my basic xbox controller w/ rechargeable batteries, so after doing research between PowerA Fusion pro vs elite series 2, I decided to go with PowerA. The most important reason why i chose this, is b/c its half the cost! The second reasoning is I don't have to worry about battery life anymore! PowerA practically has the same functionality with the elite series 2 but with some minor differences. If you're currently trying to decide between the two which is best for you, search on youtube. There are plenty of reviews in comparing the two together. For me, I didn't care for the wireless feature since I play and sit in front of my 24in gaming monitor. So being wired and not worrying about swapping or charging battery, it made more sense to have this instead. I no longer have to worry about battery dying during game play.

For gaming I primarily play COD Modern Warfare, this is my first time having a controller with paddles so it takes time to getting use. Instead of using all 4 paddles, I'm currently only using the 2 smaller paddles. And the reason why, the bigger paddles get in my way while holding the controller naturally due to having adult size hands (might be comfortable for younger kids). I've only had it for about a week and I'm still adjusting to muscle memory to use those paddles. I must say though, using the two smaller paddles made it super convenient during gaming. The other controller features that I do appreciate is swappable thumbsticks and the 3-way trigger lock adjustment for L/R triggers. It helped provide a more accurate aiming and faster response press to shoot my enemies down.

The only CON I have about having this white controller (even though its nicer looking IMO compared to black one) is that that joystick thumb started to change to a bronze color, probably due to the natural oils from the fingers. I don't eat finger foods while I play cause thats just filthy and gross hahaha. Aside from that one CON, everything else about the controller is great and is definitely worth buying over the elite series. I've read many complaints from other gamers who has/had elite controllers so I didn't want to bother with those problems in the furture, along with the expensive price tag!

So if you play in close range of your tv/monitor, I would suggest getting this wired controller. Don't have to consider buying regular/rechargeable batteries (extra expenses) or wait for the controller to charge whenever you want to play.

On side note, my 14 y.o nephew has the elite series 2 and their were times he couldn't play b/c his battery died and had to wait to charge a bit. Now he's having some other issues with it. Hearing his complaint about the controller and what I've heard from other users is what also made me decide to go with PowerA controller!

Good quality, great features, not fully satisfied

Very capable peripheral. Comfortable to hold, and the placement of the paddles feels natural to my grip. The connectivity options, settings app and battery are amongst my favourite features. It feels durable.

My criticisms would be #1 price. In my opinion Microsoft aren’t the only guilty ones but the whole Controller market is quite messed up with their prices. A regular controller $60-70? So you buy 4 of them and you are essentially almost buying another console… No controller should cost +$150, it doesn’t matter how many features they have. Personally, 100-120 is a more proper price for a controller of this caliber, though.

#2 Why aren’t you giving me the wireless USB receiver included? Add $10 to the total value if you want, but you are already giving me almost the whole set, just add the receiver to the bundle for the next gen.

#3 $25 for a USB wireless receiver is stupid… there is just no way that little piece of plastic costs that much.

#4 In my case, off the box, I was getting way too much input delay. I managed to lower it through the Xbox app settings to the point where it feels as instant as my old DS4 controller.

It is annoying though. After doing a lot of research, apparently it turns out that Xbox controllers in average have higher input delay than PlayStation controllers on PC off the box. This shouldn’t be a thing, especially with a +$150 “pro elite” controller.

Because of this last issue, for the whole first week of use I was thinking about returning it. I was close to returning it but the other features were so good they made me want to find a workaround or something that it would help me lower the input delay. In the end I kind of found my answer through the accessories app.

Currently I’m happy with the controller. Not sure if I would recommend though. If you can afford it, just because of all the cool features give it a shot and if you don’t like how it feels in game then return it.

    Advantage in Battle

I love this controller. As an owner of an Elite 1 controller I can tell you this is a bug upgrade over that. The new design of the paddles.makes it so much easier to use because they are smaller and better places whereas with the elite 1 they were big and could easily be hit as well as feel awkward when gaming. I use this controller to play both on PC and Xbox series X. My only complaint is the nubs to set the trigger stop on each side fell off which is a weird thing to.have happen for such a high priced item. I primarily use this to play Call of Duty Warzone.

Get a USB dongle for wireless PC gaming

The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 is one of the best feeling controllers I have ever used. The build quality overall is great, and modularity is a bonus. The options to wirelessly charge or using the USB-C cable is also great. Battery life has been awesome for how often I use the controller for PC gaming. This controller connects to your PC by either pairing via Bluetooth, direct connection using the included USB-C cable, or by purchasing a separate Microsoft USB dongle. I have not had any stick drift issues thus far, but I did purchase the extended warranty from Microsoft for $20. I bought this controller on sale which in my opinion is still expensive for what this is. If this was a controller at the $120 price, it would definitely be worth it.

Likes: Build quality, modularity, battery life; hard shell case, all the cables included

    Dislikes: Poor Bluetooth connectivity

Oh, by the way: After connecting this controller to my newly built PC, it struggled to keep a wireless connection. This controller worked perfectly fine when directly connected. I downloaded all the drivers necessary and tried some other trouble shooting recommendations, but in the end, the Bluetooth on this controller just plain sucks. I went and purchased the Microsoft controller USB dongle and all my wireless connection issues were resolved with this controller. If you want wireless play via PC, the USB dongle is a much buy unfortunately.

    Can’t go back

I didn’t think the controller was worth it. I decided to buy it with a coupon I found. After using it for a few hours and getting use to the extra controls I am not able to go back to a standard controller. This controller has helped me tremendously. I recommend this to anyone trying to get a slight advantage in game. Also no more batterys!!!

    The best controller available!

I've use the Elite controller from Microsoft since they first came out. They are a very nice controller. 40 hours per charge is impressive. Yes, you can even play and charge at the same time. The first series did have some issues. From wearing out thumb sticks to sprint/melee buttons. Yes, these controllers do get dropped from time to time. Ive broken triggers, worn out hand grips. Series 2 seems like a game changer. Its an impressive upgrade to an already great controller. Is it worth the cost? YES!

    Must have for PC Controller

Love it! I was between this and a SCUF controller. This is the much better option in my opinion especially for a $50+ difference ( i got it for $158 and got the extended replacement and was still cheaper and my feeling is much better built.) The case that comes with holds the extra parts and charges the controller.

    Button issues.

I bought this controller on the 23rd and started having issues with it a couple of weeks later. The A button wasn't registering my presses. It was happening enough for me to barely notice it at first. I have the power a fusion as well so I switched to it and def found out I was having issues with a $200 controller. Was planning on returning it today when I started having issues with the right bumper sticking as well. Was just going to get another one but I think I'm just going to get refund and buy a couple of regular controllers instead. Never had an issue with those. Kinda sad an $80 pro controller from another company works better than the $200 one manufactured by the company itself. I know plenty of people who had issues with the first gen one and saw reviews that people were already having issues with this one as well. Against my better judgement I bought it anyway. Lesson learned.

    A reliable alternative

Previously owning a Xbox Elite (V2) controller, I can see why this is a better alternative. It's very light (no battery obviously) and the customization software is okay. For me personally, I think the controller is a little to small, or that my hands are a little to big. The extra bumpers are kinda annoying tbh. Overall, it's good enough for a competitive advantage.

6 months of play time before review.

Before I purchased this Razor Wolverine Ultimate, Gen one Elite had been my favorite controller. The Elite Gen one and two are decent choices for sure. In my experience the analogs start to drift within 30 to 90 days. For the price, I feel like I should get more time before this process begins. I have owned my first Razor Wolverine Ultimate for 6 months and I did not experience drifting or buttons sticking. The only reason I’m on my second Ultimate is because I dropped a heavy object on the USB side of the cord and even though the performance did not change, I knew eventually it would become a problem. I had the extra Geek Squad protection and no questions were asked and I give much respect to the service I received from the staff. Customer service is always on point toward me. I’m 44 and I own a ton of consoles and accessories dating back to the 80’s so I have a good feel and experience on what I want with my gaming. I have large hands so ergonomics are very important. The extra buttons, button placement and overall design was well thought out and works well with my Racing and FPS games. My only minor complaint is I’m not a fan of the bright Led lights on the face. The application allows you to make adjustments to your preferences and is very precise and user friendly. I use this controller on my Xbox One X and my Skytech Gaming PC switching back and fourth is a flawless process. Soon I will add a second Wolverine when my Series X/S arrives. Some may not like the fact that it does have a cord, for me personally, I am very competitive and I prefer the direct connection with my controller and even to my router. I love the fact that the buttons click like the Razor gaming mouse. It’s a little thing but I like it. I would give more stars if it were possible. I hope I provided enough information for you to make a well informed purchase. This is just my experience and opinion so definitely do your research but I highly recommend this controller.

    Razer controller

Very cool and fun to use. Only part is a little hard is downloading the app to set up and modify the buttons. You have to go through Xbox and find the razer app. Besides that the buttons feel and work like a PC mouse. Quicker resound time. Better than the elite. Well worth the money. I like the cord so I don’t have to keep buying battery’s or charging them. It’s long enough for a bedroom use setup. Can make it longer.

    Sturdy, ergonomic and well built.

I am loving this Xbox controller. Its very well built and feels sturdy, no plastic creaking at all. The two analog sticks seem to have a couple of metal rings, it does make it look great and I guess adds more stability (check my pics). The buttons are great, and the bumpers and triggers feel amazing, almost like an original Microsoft controller, if not better. The only thing I do not think lives up to the new series x controller, is the D-pad. It is a little mushy, but not that bad, its just that after trying the one on the controller of the series x, it makes anything else feel mushy.

The controller is a wired one, but it is a long wire and very sturdy (has like a ribbed-paracord texture to it) and it has an emergency disconnect (so you do not pull your console with it if someone trips with the cable). I know everyone likes wireless, but with this one, you do not need to worry about batteries, besides the cable is super long. Other than that, it has all the buttons you would expect (including the new share button from the series x), and a minijack for headsets.

I downloaded its software from the windows app store, and I was pleasantly surprised that it lets you configure almost anything, to the point that you can configure the resistance of each bumper, trigger, stick etc. individually based on the type of game you are playing (stock presets), or you can customize it to your pleasure, this is great! You can check my pics for examples.

Finally, compatibility, it has worked fine with a OG Xbox, series x and my PC too!

    Great for gamer parents

Let me start my review by saying that I had a toddler. Yes, I know, very weird way to start a review of an XBox controller, but stick with me.

The pack in controller for XBox Series X is probably the best pack in to date, but it has two fatal flaws when you have a toddler. First, it is wireless (if you have never spent 20 minutes trying to figure out where your toddler hid your controller when you are trying to get a quick session in before they wake up in the morning, you will never understand how valuable having a wired controller is). Second, it requires a proprietary headset, which is expensive (seriously, it costs a lot of money having a toddler).

This controller solves both of those problems beautifully by being wired and allowing you to use any standard 3.5mm plug headset.

Of course, it also does all the things that you expect a good controller to do, I have absolutely no complaints. A bit small for my preference, but to each their own.

Lighter and no need for batteries

There are many differences between a wireless and wired controller but personally feel that wired is the way to go. There is no more worrying about batteries dying at the wrong moment or finding out at the wrong time that you have no more to replace it with. There is no chance that some other device may interfere with the signal of a wired controller like that of a wireless. Even the audio is better when wired all the way than through a wireless controller, especially in an area where there are a lot of wireless devices or multiple consoles.

This RIG Nancon PRO compact controller brings all the benefits of a wired controller in a slightly smaller and lighter format than the typical Xbox controller. To me, it feels more like a PlayStation controller with an Xbox layout. It is smaller in the grip area, but most of the buttons still feel and look to be about the same spacing. The only real difference in button placement that may take a second to get used to are the menu buttons.

The Pro features come in when you install the Pro Compact app through the Microsoft Store. Through here you can swap buttons around, change the response curve on the thumbsticks and adjust the trigger dead space. What wasn’t so obvious with the included material is that in order to take advantage of these advanced settings you have to flip the switch on the backside so that you can see purple, instead of green. Green is pretty much the default Xbox while purple is for the customized profile. I only learned this through the online manual as it wasn’t so obvious with the limited documentation included.

Another feature, and common with RIG, is the inclusion of Dolby Atmos for headphones. Once you connect the controller and install the Dolby Access app, it allows you to change the audio settings to Dolby Atmos for headphones and makes a world of difference with spatial audio. The fact you don’t have to scratch off an activation code made that process really simple. With a pair of wired headphones using the 3.5mm jack on the controller I had crystal clear and uninterrupted audio.

I found this controller to really help improve gaming as the response time is noticeable when directly compared to a wireless controller. The Pro features add some aspects of what you find in the more pricey Elite versions of controllers. The buttons and sticks feel responsive. However, the compact size may not be for everyone. I’m a fairly large person and the size of the standard Xbox controller fills my hands. Even the PS4 controllers allow all my fingers to grip the controller. This Nacon Compact is just small enough that my pinky finger now rests under the controller, essentially curled to my hand and not the controller. It’s not a bad thing, but for my large hands it does create a little discomfort for long play sessions. This controller also does not have the expansion port for other accessories, so if you use something like a controller keyboard, it will not work with this controller. Regardless, I still enjoy this controller.

    For small hands

I like this controller alot and would give it 5 stars but being that its not even 1 month with it the right trigger gets stuck if you hold it down for about 3 secs and then pops out on its own about a sec after you let go and no fun with that especially on need for speed when you dont need speed when you let go of it but still goes and i smash a wall

    Great Contoller, long cord

I was in search of a controller that had a very long cord so I did not have to be so close to my TV / Laptop. I decided to try out this controller and glad to see how long the cord was. The cord is high quality, nice long USB connector so its snug and the controller itself feels good in the hands. I would recommend this controller for those who are looking for one to transition from Xbox and Laptop

    Uncomfortable & Awkward

Unfortunately, this RIG controller is simply too uncomfortable to use. It feels as though they were trying to merge the Xbox controller with Playstation’s design. The result is awkward, uncomfortable, and neither as good as a standard Xbox controller or Playstation Controller.

The handles are simply too short - leaving nothing for the pinky fingers to rest on (or hold). The coating on the thumbsticks is vaguely rubberized, but much too slippery to keep your thumbs in place. Instead of triggers, the controller uses sharp edged paddles that feel awkward to squeeze. And, worst of all, the “ergonomic shape” of the handles forces each middle finger to press awkwardly against a hard plastic ridge leaving players with red marks on the inside edge of their knuckles. Also frustrating is the button layout. ...To reach the Window/View button, the thumb has to reach up and over the thumbstick which feels unnatural (and often bumps the thumbstick). The Frankenstein design is simply a mess.

There are a few positives worth mentioning. The controller does have a breakaway cable - which is a must for any wired controller. The pressed texture that lines the back is actually better than what Microsoft uses on the newest Xbox Series S/X controllers and the dolby atmos sounds great. Button remapping is a cool addition, but with not a single extra paddle, or button (like what appears on the Elite Controller), I can’t imagine actually finding much of a use for the feature.

Sadly, this is not a controller that I can recommend to anyone - regardless of your hand size.

5 Stars for price,4 star for size

This product is priced very very well for what you get. Wired(low latency), customizable through pro compact software. Semi Hardcore Gaming oriented. And well built.

This is a budget gaming controller for Xbox/pc. And it’s a slightly smaller form factor as well. For me I have pretty large hands and I game every day. Mainly PC. But also on my Xbox one X. I like this controller. But it’s too small for me. But perfect for my 8 yr who loves Roblox and has her own gaming pc as well. She loves it.

I did set my gaming settings via the app on my pc. And put mainly all FPS settings. While they help with responsiveness and accuracy. The size gets in the way. But this is labeled as compact. Buttons feel good. The wire is plenty long. No issues there. For the retail price. You/I really can’t complain. I do wish that this version had back buttons. But I do understand the price would go up a bit. Also the thumbs sticks aren’t the exact same size as the original Xbox one controller. So you can’t put your controlfreeks thumb sticks on. They slide around.

Head phone jack works as well. I have paired these with the Rig 3D headphones and they work perfectly together. Now my daughter pleaded with me to have both. Lol. We shall see.

For the price. You are getting a great deal for less than a stock Microsoft controller. With great gaming features. And a well respected gaming brand. You really can’t go wrong. I’d recommend to a friend or family if they have smaller hands or even for younger children. Xmas is always around the corner.

    Nice Compact and Light Controller!

The RIG Nacon Pro controller in my mind is like a combo between the Xbox and PlayStation. You have the offset thumb sticks from the Xbox and the more diminutive size of the PS. Combine that with the slightly oversized face buttons, and you get an easy to use and comfortable controller for extended gaming sessions.

One of the big selling points of this controller is the fact that you get a free subscription to the Dolby Atmos for headphones. I had already purchased this a while ago on my Xbox but now I have it for my gaming laptop since it works for either system. That being said, the headphone connector makes it easy to plug in your favorite headphones into the controller and get great sound. It sounds just as good as I was used to previously and now I get that great sound for my laptop.

Build quality is nice for the price. Buttons are responsive and the texture of the controller is nice for maintaining your grip in tense situations. Buttons, triggers, and sticks are tight and responsive. The cable has a nicely braided cover and solid strain relief built in. The only quibble I have build-wise is the direction pad, which feels a bit “squishy” for my taste.

I haven’t used the customization software and probably won’t since I rarely change layouts beyond what is available within many games, but it seems really easy to use. It is nice that you can switch easily between a program and the default set-up with the switch on the back of the controller.

All-in-all this is a good quality controller with some nice extras (the Dolby Atmos download on its own is $15). This is going to be my travel controller since it is so small and light and has such a great cable.

    Size isn’t everything (;

Okay so ima give this bad boy a 4/5. So my controller is perfect with only the smallest but very important defect. And it’s on One of my paddles, the little notch on the paddle that presses down on the button on the back of the controller was a bit to small, like you can use the paddle but you had to press down on the paddle really hard. So instead of taking it back & complaining about it, I did some DIY. I took a small peace of tape & stuck it on the paddle (as seen in the pic) to give the paddle that extra bit of length it needed. And now it works flawlessly ! And just to be super safe I went in the following week after I got paid and brought a 2 year protection plan. So if it does fail, I’m covered !

    Refurb Issues

So to start I ended up returning the refurb I received and just opted to buy a "new" one. As the refurb was damaged and missing one component. Returned to the store was a good experience as always.

Unfortunately best buy was out of the item in new condition when I returned the items so I had to buy from a different local retailer, which I would prefer not to do as bestbuys curbside pick up is great, but it is what it is.

Since it appears that bestbuy doesn't combine reviews for the items I will write a review of the product itself.

As for the product itself I have put in about 300hrs of play time with this controller since I received it. I do not own and xbox so i cannot say how well it works on console.

My experience on PC is that the microsoft software that is needed to "program" the keys is a bit clunky. If you dont have the window sized just right it cuts off options which can be frustrating. This may be because I am using a 60" monitor or something I havent tried it with a normal size monitor.

NOTE for PC users you cannot truly custom remap keys. you can really only move existing buttons around. For example you can make all the buttons X if you wanted. But you cannot use key board keys (letters numbers F# keys) for instance. So make sure you can do what you want with this prior to purchase. The 4 extra buttons on the bottom of the controller are nice and i like that you can change the joysticks. But honestly i dont know if it is really worth the extra $100 compared to a regular controller. Especially since this only comes in black and there are dozens of color options on the standard controller.

    Horrible.

Geek Squad Certified Refurb Is a complete joke. Controller paddles didn't work. Right bumper didn't register anything. It would help If the geek squad actually looked at the stupid thing. It seems nobody cares about doing a good job anymore. I returned this garbage for a refund. Never again.

    Excellent Refurb

I purchased an Elite 1 back in June 2019 as a birthday present for myself, over the last couple of months I started to notice the rubber hand grips started to come away from the controller. Was able to exchange for an elite 2 at no extra cost as was the same price of the 1 controller. Was very skeptical of getting it whether it would be missing parts etc. The controller came with original packing and all parts, the only issue was the charge cable was a micro USB instead of a USB C cable, luckily I had a spare from my old phone. Hope plenty of hours of gaming out of this.

    Quality

My review of this item is not aimed at the item itself -it is aimed at the quality of performance considered to be acceptable as a refurbished device. The controller did work properly for a very short time until it stopped registering the right bumper push about half the time. You would really have to mash the button for it to work.

I believe these devices need more testing before being cleared for refurb... in real stress test situations (for example at the time of this review I was playing Outriders) which heavily relies on that button as a main skill. Otherwise, delivery was decent timing, and customer service was good. Just may want to look a bit further into testing before clearing items as functional.

    I returned the item for a refund/credit.

If they fix it or get another I may purchase it again - but the buttons need to work properly.

    GS Refurbish is questionable

Initially had some issues with the refurbished controller and needed to send off to Microsoft to resolve stick drift issue. Once that was fixed this controller and the customization options really helped improve gameplay particularly in FPS games.

    Solid controller

Great controller overall. I honestly prefer the grips on the original Xbox elite controller, but otherwise this model is an improvement. Love that you can charge it in the case and also use it with other devices via Bluetooth. Definitely would recommend.
