Current laptop was dying so I have been researching many places for the past months for a new laptop. As a real estate agent using a laptop daily for 10 or more hours, choosing the right one is essential! I know my must-have and it would be nice items. When I found this laptop at Best Buy, it immediately exceeded all other laptops with the specs and the price was below my range. WOW was my first thought, I went to my local store, double-checked, and ordered right away. My 5-star experience didn't end there - I was told about the Geek Squad service plan benefits and added it. The laptop arrived faster than expected, the Geek Squad set it up for me, added my requested special requirements to use for my business, the service and people were fast, professional, very affordable and the service was over and above. ONE more thing, the service people told me my other laptop was covered under the plan as well, so I had them look at it - surprise - they could fix it by adding a new hard drive. Both laptops were checked out, set up and now I have a new one for business and my other is working like new as my personal laptop! Affordable, great service, wonderful assistance - very satisfied! I saved money, received more than expected, had an outstanding experience.

GET THIS LAPTOP! OCT 23 2021, CPU+GPU WOW! 10/10. 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1195G7 @ 2.90GHz 2.92 GHz. I waited until Oct 19 to buy this laptop without knowing what new CPU was coming out. Turns out the CPU is amazing. There is two models released on 2021 and as of Oct 23 20219 this is the newest? It is so fast. It was a $1729.99 but my birthday was this month and a 10% applied. I love it, it is small and has a pen that can be stuck to the side of the laptop, the memory is like 934gb ready to use, the restarts take literally like 10 seconds. Buy this one that might have only 1 review on Oct 23 2021 ! amazing.
Oct 24, 2021 01:12This laptop is the best I have ever owned for many reasons, in aggregate. I only know what matters to me so that's what I will focus on. First, the screen bezel is very thin and the display is beyond beautiful; It is crystal clear and vivid and I appreciate the HP app in the system that allows one to choose the display type, although I leave it on default. The 3:2 aspect ratio allows me to get a nice full, page view instead of what one sees in 16:9. It also has an auto-brightness feature that is important to me. Second, the keyboard, trackpad, and backlighting are top-notch; I love everything about it, especially that it does not attract finger oils and is easy to read; I am not thrilled with the home button being where the backspace button should, though. Third, the sound, next to the Yoga 9i is excellent. HP has the speakers on top of the deck and below; it could be a shade louder but the sound quality is right behind the Yoga 9i. I love the Bang and Olufsen EQ app; it is very customizable. Fourth, the build quality is second to none; it looks super cool with the gold trim and diamond-cut edges; The pen that comes with it sticks to the left side of the deck nicely and is not in the way; I am not afraid of losing it, whatsoever. It also has a nifty leatherette (?) pouch it can be stored safely in, as can the pen slide into the pouch in its own dedicated slot under the flap. The I/O for the power adapter on the corner is a bonus and reduces the likelihood of it being yanked out and causing damage. I wish there were one on the left side though, in addition. It is lightweight and easy to carry and very portable at 2.95 lbs. The Surface Laptop Studio, also a wonderful unit, weighs in around 4 lbs and is just too beefy; not what I can tolerate for ease of use. The 16 GB ram and 1 TB SSD are wonderful and give me more than enough for my purposes. I have not owned it long enough to tell you about the battery, sorry. However, all in all, I highly recommend this HP Spectre x360!

My old laptop, also an HP Envy, was beginning to show signs of age, so I male am appointment with the Geek Squad, packed it up, and headed to the Milpitas store to find a replacement machine and get my data transferred. I had been happy with the old HP machine, but this newer version impresses me. It's lighter, faster, and has an amazing display. I use an HP docking station when I work from home, and I love the combination.

Oct 24, 2021 11:57I purchased this laptop because the model on the Best Buy website showed it with a SD card slot. Once I arrived at my local store to purchase what I saw on their website and got home with my purchase, I was looking for the SD slot to put in the micro card. Unbeknown to be, this model is not the same as noted on the website.
The model noted on the website is an older model HP is no longer producing with a SD card slot. I am very disappointed. However, the laptop is great for using to draw (which is why I purchased a 3rd laptop).
Also, I wanted to experience the new Windows 11 OS. I didn't want to upgrade my other computer and laptops to Windows 11. From previous experiences when Windows 7 came on the scene, Windows then created Windows 8. Upgrading from 7 to 8 was a nightmare. I would not recommend upgrading from Windows 10. If you can afford to purchase a laptop (or computer), buy for the Windows 11. DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR CURRENT OS TO WINDOWS 11.
Windows 11 is okay. A lot to absorb and to take in. Keep your Windows 10.
Nov 10, 2021 09:29Very nice computer. Runs smoothly. Easy to ise, fir everyday services.

Oct 22, 2021 18:26!!HP Envy x360 known-defective hinge issue !!
Had this same model for a little over 3yrs, and was fantastic, but you're taking a risk...research the hinge issue. Give these recent reviews a year or two, and I bet there will be several in the same boat. All of a sudden after the 3yr extended Best Buy Warranty expired, the right hinge popped out and broke the touch screen when my wife opened the lid to use her laptop. After finding out it wasn't covered, did some reasearch on how to repair, and was disappointed in what I found. It can be repaired, but just google search HP Envy x360 hinge issue, and you'll see this is apparently a common problem. I tried to include the URL, but I think BestBuy will not post my review every time I share the search results.
Ours lasted quite a while compared to others, and the tablet mode was used probably less than 6 times in 3 years. Wish I would have known before I purchased. Thought about fixing myself, but all the parts are likely the same and afraid it will happen again. Very disappointed in HP. Only 1 person that I can see got it repaired free of charge on the forum, as a defective issue, and that's because the person emailed a VP at HP. Also disappointed in Best Buy for knowing this and irritated that I paid for their 3yr warranty and this happened just about 3 months after it expired. Likely not going to buy from Best Buy again for laptops, and will not be purchasing an HP computer. 1 star for the fact it was great for 3 years...same 1 star because it's now useless. Incidentally I bought an Asus computer at the same time as this one, and it is has been flawless. May need to get another one of those now.
Oct 23, 2021 13:52Easy to use, Touch Screen, Reversible for easy use in office & kitchen. Good clarity, perfect for my usage. Hesitant, @ first, but great deal.
Jun 11, 2021 17:18Had mine for about two years, and looking back retrospectively, it wasn’t the greatest. I didn’t have the SSD version and so it was extremely slow and laggy at times.
But what makes me say DO NOT BUY!!! is the fact that this computer is infamous for the screen breaking at the hinges. Most people experience the issue within 6 months and HP will not replace it. It is a major design flaw where the LCD screen is too heavy for the screen cover hardware, and so it pops right out. Computer repair place said it was a very expensive fix and the other side will break eventually. I ended up buying a different laptop. Don’t waste your money on this, folks! Always call a repair place and ask their recommendations, I wish I had.
Aug 13, 2021 01:12You absolutely can't go wrong with a H.P. Laptop.
I have bought H.P. Laptops for many years, because they are dependable , fast , and in my opinion the best.
Jul 02, 2021 15:49So far so good. I didn't look around very much because I wanted a personal laptop with specific features to use with my WFH office setup, which is now an Elitebook 850 using a Thunderbolt dock (2 monitors, wireless keyboard/mouse). Not needing something that high end for personal use, I decided on his Envy 360 after reading positive reviews. It has the Thunderbolt port to use with my dock at my desk, SD card slot, and SSD drive. Finally, it has the convertible screen so I can use it as a tablet sitting on the couch.

INITIAL SET-UP AND CONFIGURATION
This was a mixed of success and epic fails. Initial boot-up and loading went hassle-free. Windows walks you through all steps, as always, to create your account, get online, etc. However, once Windows update kicked in and went online, things were not as smooth. The initial Windows image appears to have been created prior to May 2021. The computer received a May 2021 update, but only received the 20H2 feature set. No biggie. I installed the May 2021 update, restarted, got the July 2021 update, installed it, restarted the laptop, then it all stopped. I got continued warnings that my PC was missing important updates and security fixes, but no matter what I tried, Windows would not update the PC any further. The Windows Update Assistant said the PC was compatible with 21H1, but it would not install. Hmmmm. Every time I’ve encountered this issue, it has been related to some form of bloatware. Time to dig in.
After poking around and getting the Microsoft Store and all its associated programs updated, I discovered that HP graced me with several undesired programs. Included in this list are: McAfee, ExpressVPN, and LastPass. Programs are personal choices and I prefer not to use these programs. I tried uninstalling the 3 biggest offenders, hoping it would fix my failure to update issue, but it did not. So, I grabbed my trusty flash drive and went to the Windows Media Creation Tool to download a pure, un-adultered version of Windows from Microsoft.
The clean version of Windows installed without issue. But, with this being a new computer, there were tons of updates and drivers that needed installed. Therein lies my 2nd issue with set-up. I downloaded the Omen drivers from HP’s website and used the self-extracting files to install the drivers for the laptop. The HP files didn’t work. They didn’t extract and install correctly on my machine, leaving me driverless and the laptop operating horribly. Luckily, Windows recognized the NIC after installation and I was able to get to Windows Update via an ethernet cable. From there, Microsoft took care of the rest and properly identified the correct drivers. At last, everything finally worked correctly, and all the latest security updates and patches were installed, but not without a couple of hours’ worth of work.
USE AND PERFORMANCE
Is this machine powerful? Yes, it is. My favorite go-to game for testing is Forza Horizon 4. While it may not be the flavor of the day for most. I enjoy the mindless racing simulator. I set the Power Management feature to balanced using the Omen Command Center and proceeded to benchmark. Forza returned recommended settings at either High or Ultra. With everything cranked up to max or near max levels, the machine returned a respectable average of 42fps. Lowering those levels down could ratchet up the framerates considerably, but the game plays fine at 42fps. The computer could technically be considered GPU bound, if you are a hard-core gamer. At 100% GPU utilization, the CPU was only being taxed at roughly 36%. While not a huge mismatch, there is still a little room for improvement. Further driver refinements may extract more performance from this new graphics chipset over time.
Speaking of taxing the CPU, just how powerful is the new Ryzen compared to its competition? It is quite impressive. To find out the true compute power, I put it up against my Omen desktop that has a liquid cooled i7-9700 (8 cores / 8 threads) clocked at 3.0GHz. I found a home video that was 26 minutes and 36 seconds in length. It was recorded at 1080p / 30 fps and measured in a little over 7GB. Using Handbrake, my i7 Omen desktop converted my home movie from 1080p/30 to 720p/30 in 7:08. The Ryzen put that i7 to shame. Converting the home video on the Omen laptop took only 5:19. WOW!!! A huge difference. This was strictly using CPU rendering and not using GPU.
Raw compute power is quite impressive. But even more impressive is the quietness of the cooling solution HP created. Handbrake stressed the CPU. During the 5 minute encode test, utilization ranged from 70% to 99% and temps spike momentarily up to 91C. VERY HOT. At the end of the test, the average temp stabilized to 88C. Surprisingly, using a laptop cooler didn’t help the thermals. Even at this temperature and the fans at 100% the laptop remained relatively quiet and was pleasant to use. Unlike my similar Acer Nitro that is distractingly loud and annoying while gaming. I find the annoying whine of the Acer quite tiring after just a few minutes of gaming. Not so with the Omen. HP has done a very good job balancing cooling, airflow, and noise levels.
FINAL THOUGHTS
This is a very attractive option for a gaming laptop. The screen looks nice and calibrates very well, accurately reproducing colors and textures. The keys will take a little while to get used to. I don’t like them as well as some of my other laptops I’ve had, but they work well enough, and the customizable backlighting is a bonus.
Battery life is not very good. Others have been reporting very good battery life, but I’ve found only about 2 – 3 hours of battery life with casual use and less than 1 hour of life while gaming. The power brick charges the laptop back up quickly, but it is HUGE. Much bigger than any power brick I’ve used to date.
There are plenty of expansion ports to satisfy nearly everyone. These ports include: LAN, 3x USB 3.2 Gen 1 A, 1 x USB C, SD card reader, 3.5mm headphone, full-size HDMI, and what appears to be a mini display port (I didn’t have a mini-DP cable to test it).
At the end of the day, this is a very powerful laptop that rivals most desktops. While the Radeon 6600M graphics may not be quite as powerful as the latest nVidia options, it still works well and satisfies my graphics needs. My recommendations: HP removes their bloatware from the initial load (as it appears it prevented my laptop from updating correctly), improve their driver support on the website, and lastly find a way to squeeze in a better battery. Still, this is a very satisfying product, that is only held back by the initial configuration woes.
Jul 26, 2021 19:26I’ve owned a lot of laptops from a lot of vendors, everything from basic business laptops to full-on gaming rigs and this one easily tops the stack in terms of raw performance.
Highlights:
Display: In normal desktop use, right out of the box, the display shows as operating at 144Hz which makes for solid and smooth desktop visuals. For gaming the panel is excellent, smooth, and visually responsive. In terms of contrast and deep-blacks however, if you expect to watch a lot of movies and media, it was actually a little disappointing as when the display goes “all black”, it’s more deep-gray than actually black, and the same also reveals that it’s slightly unevenly lit. Further, the panel obviously flexes and stresses a bit more than usual during routine repositioning.
Graphics. In Fortnite for example, at full-on “Epic” settings with vsync-off and allowed unlimited frame rates I’d pull 90-120 FPS. During actual gameplay I’m one to keep vsync enabled, in which case my FPS stayed rock solid at 60 and never flinched which is more than adequate to me and nice to know I had power to spare if needed. However, given the 144Hz display panel I honestly expected the FPS even with vsync-on to be more than just a constant 60.
Processor: I didn’t formally benchmark it but it is easily the fastest of our 3 family gaming systems.
Cooling system: Impressive and aggressive. If you actually play games with this on your lap it will get uncomfortably hot. The fans are on the left and right on the underside so try not to block those with your legs or anything else. The system never overheated on me but, under full gaming load, the fans were definitely hungry for cool air.
4-zone RGB keyboard: Having only 4-zones is something I had to adapt to. The zones are basically left, middle, right, and WASD, and you can edit them as “layers” in the HP Omen Light Studio app. I’m not exactly fond of where HP decided those zone boundaries would be but after some experimenting I found I liked either setting the whole keyboard to “color cycle” at speed 5-10, or to set left-middle-right to a single static color, and WASD to a nicely contrasting color.
Summary:
Despite some minor issues with the display panel, mentioned above, I really do like this laptop overall and the minor issues are easy to forget when you’re gaming. Whether I’d recommend this to you depends on your intended use: If gaming performance is a high priority then this is an admirable laptop and you won’t be disappointed -- the issues I observed will probably be of no concern to you at all. However, if you’re more into movies and videos, with gaming as something you’re more likely to do on the side, there are laptops with better displays for that for the same or even less money.
Jul 24, 2021 23:35The HP Omen Advantage Edition laptop is a great, affordable gaming laptop that can handle the new and popular PC games. It sports one of AMD's newest lineup of video cards and fast multicore processor.
Upon opening the box, I noticed the sleek, black matte finish and opal looking emblem on the front of the laptop. Weighing a little over 5 lbs and having a slim profile, it is comparable to many of the other gaming laptops out now. Aesthetically, I also particularly liked that the laptop includes a webcam as it has been convenient to use when working from home.
Upon turning on the computer, booting into Windows only took a few seconds! I noticed that when running programs and when launching games it was able to load them quickly in a few seconds. I also noticed how balanced the colors looked and how crisp images were on the laptop. Although not absolutely stunning, in my opinion it was especially great for what I wanted to use it for, gaming.
To test the AMD RTX 6600M video card, I tested the following games with high settings enabled: Call of Duty Warzone, Fortnite, and Apex Legends. Also, these games were played using the HD 1080p 144Hz laptop screen (Note: I recommend installing the latest graphics drivers from AMD to get the best results). First, Warzone consistently had 110-140fps when running through the map although when shooting and in fast moving scenarios, the fps dropped to 90-100. Second, on Fortnite, I noticed a consistent 25-35 fps on the 2nd to highest graphic settings (graphics setting labeled as high). As I lowered it to medium and low, the fps would jump an extra 10-15fps each time. Lastly, on Apex Legends, there was a consistent 110-120 fps when in a battle scenario. Note: Although the fps would drop in each of these games, I found that each looked nice and would not lag during anytime in gameplay. I enjoyed playing each one and found I preferred the 16" screen more so than the other laptops I've used that were 15.6".
After playing each of these games, I also checked the temperature of the processor and GPU and noticed that both did not get super hot and to the point where I worried I could damage them. After gaming for hours, the highest temperature reading I obtained on the graphics card was 69°C and on the processor 78°C.
As for other things I enjoyed about the laptop, I liked how the RGB keyboard had four different lighting "zones" where you can set different colors to these zones. Three of these zones are a third of the whole keyboard and the fourth the WASD keys. Although it doesn't include a dedicated number pad/section, the ability to change the color zones on the laptop from HP's Omen Light Studio software makes up for this in my opinion. Additionally, I also liked how there were several ports for connecting USBs and external displays. In total there are 3 regular USB A 3.2 ports, 1 USB C 3.2 Gen 2 port, an ethernet port, headphone jack, SD card slot, a mini display port, and a HDMI port for use on external displays. I would've wished it included a Thunderbolt port or even an extra USB C port but I'll leave it as a suggestion on a future model.
All in all, HP's Omen checks many boxes for those looking to buy a new gaming laptop. I enjoyed using it and found that although I was a previous Intel user, I now see how well AMD has improved both their processor and video cards' performance. This is to say that I am unbiased and could recommend it to those looking for a great gaming, school, and fast laptop without breaking the bank.
Aug 23, 2021 13:50I had high hopes for the HP OMEN Gaming Laptop, and while the computer is quick and mostly capable - its gaming performance could be better. My previous gaming laptop is nearing two years old and is barely meeting specs for newer games. As soon as I would launch a game, the fans would immediately kick on at full power and were so loud that other online players couldn’t hear me. The HP Omen has better performance specs, but when the fans do begin to run - the fans are still rather loud. I received so many complaints during online gameplay that I had to purchase a foam cover for my headset mic (which seems to help reduce the fan noise that is picked up). The bottom of the laptop is designed to ensure appropriate ventilation, but fans can still become fairly noisy.
Thanks to the SSD, the Omen boots up lightning quick - in less than 8 seconds. There is no fingerprint scanner (which is my preferred method for quickly logging in and quickly changing profiles) - and although the Omen has a built in camera, Windows says that it is not able to be used in order to log-in with facial recognition. The laptop also does not have a built in slider to cover the webcam - so users who are concerned with higher levels of privacy will need to find their own way to cover the camera.
The keys are all perfectly flat, but the keyboard is comfortable to use and features tons of awesome LED customization. The OMEN does not have a 10-key which is a bit of a disappointment. I do quite like the oversized trackpad and I appreciate the full sized direction keys. I also love that I am able to open the lid/screen of the laptop without holding down the base of the laptop. The computer has a full sized SD reader and the USB-C port supports DP Alt Mode (meaning you can plug in a USB-C hub that seamlessly links to a 2nd monitor).
The power brick is an absolute beast. Not only is it huge, but it also gets very hot. So hot, in fact, that I felt the need to check the temperature - which measured 135 degrees Fahrenheit (about 15 minutes after I had powered down the computer). Apparently this is fairly normal, but curiously, when I googled the issue - the first hit was a Reddit user who also mentioned having an HP Omen. Just be careful where you set the power brick and don’t be surprised if it is blazing hot when you go to put it in a laptop bag / backpack.
Despite the criticisms listed above, I do believe that the HP Omen offers a good over-all value and strong build quality. The day to day operation is incredibly fast, but I would suggest looking for the newest version of the AMD RYZEN Processor that your budget will allow. I have already found myself lowering game specs to ensure that games run smoothly, so I am not confident that I will be able to play top end games for years to come. But, for the average student, business professional, and basic gamer the HP Omen is a good choice for the price. But, if you are focused only on hardcore gaming, you may need to spend a bit more to get the most current processor for more impressive graphical performance.
Jul 29, 2021 00:56This laptop offers the power you need for serious gaming in a package with a big screen and plenty of connectivity. The OMEN feels substantial and well built, its not light but that’s a trade off I don’t mind for all it offers. You have plenty of connections with 3 USB-A, 1 USB-C, Ethernet, display port, HDMI, SD card reader and a headphone jack. The bottom of the case has nice big slots for ample cooling that will let this thing get and remove plenty of air. The one hardware thing missing for me is a privacy filter for the webcam. Having used other laptops with this feature makes me want it for all computers I use. The webcam is nice and wide but the quality is more like something from 5 years ago, its not terrible but could be better for a gaming laptop in 2021. If you’re gonna do any streaming you’ll definitely want to invest in an aftermarket one.
Performance wise is a completely different story, this thing impressed me with everything I’ve used it for. I’ve had a lot of experience with AMD processors and have always been impressed, this is my first experience with their GPU with gaming and I’ve been equally impressed. Playing Destiny 2 and Forza Horizon it never missed a beat and had no frame rate drop with either. More to my surprise was the fact machine was not loud at all when playing, the fans would come on at times but not how I thought they would be. The HP OMEN gaming hub allows you to monitor the vitals and customize things to your liking. One of those things is the excellent 4 zone RGB keyboard. Battery wise while gaming the machine dropped about 50 to 60 percent in about an hour playing Destiny 2, this was with performance setting set to max. The huge power brick will get you charged back up quick from 0 to 50 percent in about 45 minutes though. This HP OMEN with its AMD power can deliver the goods for serious gaming and work.
Jul 24, 2021 12:14another year another HP omen is out, but I believe this year is definitely worth the wait if you are planning on gaming using gaming laptop. I think everybody mainly wants to know how well does this laptop run, well I have some results.
- first make sure to update the drivers before playing with your new OMEN 16
- while playing Warzone i decided to let the game to give me a balance setting I average about 87 - 96fps on some areas and also goes up 107fps
- everything on normal I get about 115fps to 125fps on COD Warzone
- everything set to high I got about 88fps to 90 fps, that’s still a great results for playing COD just make sure you keep the laptop plugged
- tested another game and this time it’s Forza horizon 4 on medium custom setting, the game runs 47fps (unplugged)
- when the power cord is plugged I can run the game on ultra with required setting for this laptop, with solid 72fps, zero drops of frame, the game look amazing even on just a 1080p monitor.
- the 3rd game i decide to test is Doom Eternal with Ray Tracing mode on high I get about 92fps
- medium setting using RT I get about 95 to 120fps
- without RT on medium you’ll get rock solid 144fps
- the 4th thing I tested was VR, after downloading Oculus app, the app was saying that the laptop wasn’t compatible for VR, but can’t be RX66000m is more than enough, I do believe that it’s because this laptop is fairly new, but I did download Steam VR tester and it performed on the highest level. Running Half life Alyx with my Quest plugged in on my HP Omen was amazing, it run so well, was so worth it and I’m glad I tried it.
- system temperature runs about 75C during games on balance mode
- 83C on temperature why playing warzone, but it can get hotter than that and the fan noise is kind of distracting.
- my main negative thing about this laptop is that, it’s the same design as last year, 100% same design, the screen have a good amount of flex I sure didn’t like it last year I still didn’t like it now.
overall this is such a great laptop to buy, it’s a powerful machine should run your games in a solid performance. the design is simplistic and I still like that. very clean laptop that doesn’t scream that it’s a gaming laptop. fantastic gaming machine, i’ve been enjoying this beast for the past few days, with the latest AMD GPU this is one of my favorites so far.
Jul 26, 2021 19:13I've not been using it long, but it is very fast so far. The screen is beautiful, because it has a matte anti glare coating, so viewing angles are great. Battery life is very good so far, as I charged it to 100%, and after several hours on it, I'm at about 70% right now. I played lots of games, and got no overheating and no slow down in performance. I'm going to edit some videos as well to check the speed of the graphics card.. I think you will love this laptop. It's on the heavier side, but that's okay. Fits well in my backpack. Has lots of ports, so you can plug in another camera for better video, as the front camera is not the best. Keyboard is solid, but feels weird with no number pad. End of the day, I like it a lot.
Jul 22, 2021 09:36This thing is a BEAST! Designed for gaming, this PC easily meets the challenge. I unleashed a seventeen year old gaming expert on this unit and after a couple days in the dungeon basement that is a teenage boys room, this laptop met every challenge.
Excellent processing, screen resolution and decent sound, no complaints. The backlit and color coded keypad is excellent for late-night dungeon gaming. In all, a great gaming PC.
The only issue (and it's a minor issue) I have is the keyboard does not have a 10-key pad for numbers. I understand why since it is a gaming PC and not designed for business, but I would have liked to have had the 10 key.
End fo the day, great gaming PC and I would recommend to a friend.

Love this Laptop. This is my second time buying this HP Laptop. But this time for my sis
Oct 08, 2021 20:23I LIKE IT BUT I HAVE BEEF!
I bought this laptop a couple months ago and I already have beef w/ it. The pros are that it isn't too bulky, its beautiful obviously, TOUCH SCREEN FTW, it can keep up with my video editing software and the 360 spin is fire. NOW FOR MY BEEF (this might be petty but I don't care); First is the STUPID HOME BUTTON OMG! There is a home button located right next to the backspace button and if you accidently press the home button (which I do all the time) while trying to backspace, it moves the cursor to the beginning of the sentence and you end up deleting stuff without noticing (very annoying). Next its default search engine is Microsoft Bing which do I even have to explain? It sucks because I now have all my info on Microsoft (because it makes it so easy) but then I have to deal with Bing because if I get a different search engine I have to put all new info in (which is annoying). The touchpad is a little wonky and i end up doing weird things to the windows I'm working in without meaning to. The battery life is BOOTY, now that could just be overcharging but mines is booty. Also the 360 doesn't allow you to use multiple windows which makes tablet mode only good for reading, or playing solitaire. AND NO (before you ask) if you buy a pen w/ it (which you have to really keep up w/ because there's no way to attach it to the laptop) you don't get that cool feature that you see w/ other tablet laptops where you can take cool notes and draw, NOPE. I didn't have that experience w/ it, the pen is pretty much another mouse while in tablet mode.
I hope this helps some people! Would I re purchase this? No. I would rather get a Chromebook, a dell or a surface pro. Those seem like better options for me personally.
Jun 27, 2021 01:03Issues from the very 1st use! This item was supposed to be open box certified excellent condition but it needed a ton of updating and after only 2 uses the laptop will not turn on despite being charged. Best buy won't return because it's more than 15 fraud since purchase and hp support had no clue what was wrong or what to do about a product warranty for my item. Nightmare!!! Now I'm out 800 bucks and a computer, witch is reaping havoc in my life!
Jun 21, 2021 14:56This is so far the best laptop I've ever owned. The 2-1 part is a great bonus and works smoothly. I wanted this due to being a frequent traveler and use it for school. It's lightweight, fast, and has a great design. I am a student and didn't initially want to spend this much on a laptop, but it's well worth it.
Jun 21, 2021 16:44This is my second laptop purchase this year. Bought a higher end ASUS laptop to be my main windows device. This I bought because I wanted a smaller laptop that I could install Linux on to keep my fingers in that game too. While I wait for the latest version of the distro I plan on installing. I can review this as a windows machine. I also bought this open box, and during Memorial Day weekend. So, it was considerably less than full price. For what I actually paid, this is really good. At full price, there are two negatives. No backlight keyboard, which should be standard in the over $800 range, and the hinge is somewhat floppy if you have it open a bit beyond 90 degrees and then pick it up. Then it will flop to around 180 degrees. Both of which are quibbles. The keyboard feels good to me, and very much like the great keyboard on the Elitebook I have for work through my company. I would prefer that the tops of the keys were a bit textured, but the smooth and kind of slick keys are the style these days.
Let's get into the positives. Performance is smooth, and gets close to the i7 ASUS I own. The trackpad is accurate, does multi touch gestures very well, and better than the one on the Elitebook I have. Frankly, several weeks in, this is the first laptop I haven't quickly paired a mouse with. That is saying something. The screen is reasonably bright for indoor use, but outdoor it isn't so great when the sun is high in the desert sky here in AZ. Touch screen works as expected. Audio is fine for the size of the device, I use this in tent mode a fair amount, and the speaker positioning is better than on my more expensive 2 in 1. The whole chassis is thin and light for the product class. You have to go up to the Envy line, or the XPS for Dell, and the Yoga 7 and 9 series for Lenovo. The Yoga 7 series is the closest comparison, and Whichever one is on better sale price any given day would be the better choice. Although the front edges on this one is less sharp than the Yoga. Which is something I appreciate. The fingerprint reader, coupled with Windows Hello works really well too. Also, this has a much more solid body than anything that is priced lower. There is a core i3 Pavilion that Best Buy has for 549 at full price that I was considering, but that has a body that has way more flex, and possibly less durability than this. At the sale price, the choice between the two ended up being a no brainer for me. I expect to get 5 to 6 years out of this, and have no regrets in this purchase.
Jun 11, 2021 15:45I’ve only had it for a few weeks but…
I have owned HP laptops for years so when my old one needed a repair, I purchased this one as a backup. It’s a perfect laptop for school. It has 512GB which is plenty for daily use. The battery lasted at least three days before recharging after 7 hrs straight a day so it has a great battery. I have no complaints about my purchase. Also, the keys are backlit so it helps when it’s late and you’re not wearing glasses or contacts lol
May 07, 2021 17:33The TV is the perfect size for the space where i set it up. The viewing is perfect (e.g., sharp, clear pictures).
This device was purchased for a 2nd home that has no cable. In mý primary home in another state, I have UVerse, so am used to viewing many channels on live TV.
One drawback has been that it waa told to me that any channel I am paying for on UVerse (e.g., OWN, BRAVO, UP), I would be able to view those channels' programming on the Fire TV. This has not been the case, so this has been very disappointing. Haven't watched my regular programming for the past 55 days I have been away; and purchasing a 2nd cable subscription with added monthly payments (or even repurchasing the channels again when I am still paying monthly for the channels in my primary home) are both out of the question. So I am settling for a Netfix subscription, while viewing the only programming that comes with my annual Amazon Prime membership.
I reached out in so many directions for assistance, all to no avail. I do miss my regular TV programming while away, and wish there was some help.
I do maintain that though it could be better, the TV is a good product. I would recommend it to a friend ONLY if their experience mirrors my current one, if one is willing to forego live TV channels with programming to which you are accustomed. I would be elated with my TV if the above issue could be addressed.
Sep 10, 2021 16:15This laptop is probably one of the nicest laptops I've used. Nice size screen, and offers the inking feature which I can use my Surface pen to draw directly on the screen!
It is very thin and lightweight and easy to carry, and ultra fast, good storage space and excellent resolution good for just about anything. It also has a backlit keyboard and the keys feel really nice to type on. A+ product

I was in a crisis!
It was during a PanDammit!
I needed my computer working! Or at least salvaged from an awful viral attack.
BB came to the rescue! I bought a great new laptop perfect for my work load. BB Geek Squad safely retrieved data off my hard drive and installed onto my new device. I was able to promptly return to business.
May 28, 2021 19:10The fastest and best Laptop i have ever purchased! Im not 100% sure about this Iris video card, but it has to be decent if its in this system. Ill do my homework on it later. The 512 SSD Hard-drive is killer per usual, so no disappointment there! Very happy with this replacement given to me with my Geek Squad Protection plan!!! I ❤ BestBuy!!!
Jun 18, 2021 18:49TBD. Easy to set up. The screen is amazing. Color is great. Sound is awesome. Love that it has numeric keyboard. I returned a 15 in. 2 in 1 for this because I can’t do without the numeric pad. It’s Light weight for a big laptop .
A bit pricey (compared to its smaller counter parts)for not being a 2 in 1. There have been a few flickers & slow to load a few pages, could just be my internet, we will see.. Also can’t figure out the screen shot, is it no longer available on new models? I had to use the snipping tool.
To be really picky, the mouse pad could have taken less room for a bigger key board.
Overall beautiful 4.5 stars. Buy the insurance!
I do LOVE hp. Bought this one to replace my 9 year old hp laptop that took a spill(It was high dollar touch screen when I bought it) and better than most out there now. Real fast after switching out the memory to 1 T.
May 22, 2021 18:24Love love love. Very nice for the minimalist work that I do. Also good for my wife when she does online work for her job!! Love it!!
Sep 11, 2021 14:19Great laptop
Great SSD 1 terrabyte drive
Great value
Great camera
Great graphics card
Sep 17, 2021 23:46This computer boots up fast. Has keys that light up. Great screen, it's large, and i can see the screen on a bright day outside. Also a nice bonus, it's a touch screen too! I love the numeric pad on the right hand side of the keyboard. However you won't know when the number pad is on, no dot that lights on on the Numlock key, so I just leave it on. Why that is missing, i don't know, HP, WHAT were you thinking? Put it back. Battery lasts but I'm not a gamer.. I check email and search the internet. I like the bottom has a ridge, so sits up from the surface to allow venting. I'm very happy with my purchase!
Jul 09, 2021 17:55Works very well. Fast speed and easy connections. I got this for my wife who needs a large screen to see. Did not dissapoint. A little pricey, but for the screen well worth it.
Aug 01, 2021 12:52I love my new HP Envy! The design is sleek, modern, and sassy! The 17.3 display screen is so beautiful, it comes to life. It's fast powering up and loading web pages/sites. The best HP laptop I have owned. In the third pic, my laptop has a gel keyboard cover that I added. I would say, this laptop is top of the line. I wished they made this model in 16gb and up, but I do not regret my purchase. I highly recommend the HP Envy 17.3 to everyone.

The laptop was extremely slow and the fan was defective.
Nov 09, 2021 22:32I Iike this laptop a lot. It is extremely light weight and doubles as a tablet since it can be flipped 360 degrees (stylus sold separately). Hp is one of the two laptop brands that I trust.
May 26, 2021 19:08I love this computer. Great for college. Not crazy about the keyboard because it is hard for my old eyes to see the letters. Problem easily solved by using a keyboard skin.
Sep 10, 2021 16:28It's a pretty good computer, and it does compete very well with other computers and the functionality is superior in terms of ports available and the touch screen features. Besides the lower res display, it is a great computer to get for the average consumer. The fans don't kick on under medium load (4-5 tabs with documents and file transferring) but it's not too loud if you're around other people who are talking in an indoor office, but they can be noisy during update or restarting which shouldn't be too often
Sep 10, 2021 16:11HP Pavilion is a great laptop for teachers. I purchased the 8/256 and I have plenty of space for files. The extra ports on the side allows me the flexibility to do anything with my laptop including hardwiring to a printer when needed.
Oct 20, 2021 08:51The features are very good on it. Volume is very good on it. The quality is very good too. Charges very fast. Wish battery life was a bit better.
Nov 16, 2021 11:09So far so good. Happy with my purchase . Was looking for this.
Oct 30, 2021 18:48I bought this for my daughter so that she can work from home for now. We have to stay safe.
Oct 10, 2021 14:00Designed to stun. HP's most compact, mainstream 2-in-1 convertible laptop is built for streaming and getting more done from wherever you go. And it's designed with the environment in mind, so you can feel great about using it.
This machine is a overall package.
#1 Style
#2 Laptop & Tablet
#3 Not too pricy
#4 It flips easily (make it a tablet anytime)
#5 Does not becomes too hot
#6 Keyboard is very nice. Keys are evenly spaced out.
May 10, 2021 06:28Whao! still learning how to use but love my computer HP. Since Iv had it ive learned how to navigate the internet, Now I can check my emails easy, keeps me company. Just love it.
May 14, 2021 16:14Love it! It has everything I need, especially for college! I love the keyboard and how fast it was to set this laptop up. I also love the fingerprint sign-in because it is so convenient especially when you are in a rush. The screen is wide enough to have two tabs side by side for those who are multitaskers. I find it more satisfying taking notes on this laptop because all I have to do is take a screenshot add any additional notes by hand or typing it out, it’s so easy. It also does not feel cheap! I love touch screens
May 28, 2021 15:56amazing quality, good price, really came in handy as a college student
Sep 03, 2021 15:37The hP pavilion computers are known for their good quality. I chose this laptop because the price was unbeatable. This laptop is also very good quality. Unfortunately I have not had a chance to utilize it
Oct 22, 2021 16:27The Geek Squad helped me find the right laptop. It was a learning experience and I highly recommend the HP Pavilion x360. It's different than other laptops. The keyboard has raised keys so I can feel the keys. It's very sleek and I am satisfied.
Now go to Best Buy and check out the HP Pavillion x360.
Sep 06, 2021 03:48Super lightweight and easy to use. Quick and efficient start up! I like the idea it turn into a tablet and the fact that it’s touch screen. It’s not too big or small. The only thing I don’t like is how it feel in your lap. The connector that connects the screen to the keyboard isn’t comfortable while on your lap. So I make sure to use it on a table or desk.
Oct 15, 2021 19:12Great features, fast and easy to download needed software to computer. Easy to transfer items from the cloud from my old laptop to this one. Purchased on sale snd great bargain for what it cost.
Nov 05, 2021 15:51Workload meet beast mode: Work and play all day with the power and performance of an Intel® Core™ processor, long battery life and ample storage. I’m a BIG Apple supporter and well, i had to make a change because converting everything after a while starts to get annoying. This laptop is exactly what I need for my everyday use of working on it and doing schoolwork. You will not regret this buy, I promise! :)
Aug 24, 2021 23:1614 inch screen and so compact not bulky like the regular 14” inch laptop my husband and I are loyal chromebook owners for years it’s a touch screen and very responsive it’s has 3 positions laptop flip stand and tablet it’s fantastic watching movies looks like a 4 k tv gorgeous they it’s to dark not true it’s perfect and listening to music the speakers will surprise you they sound fantastic the chromebook comes in all different affordability price range for everybody it’s super fast and reliable and it’s has thousands of free apps and safe browsing security highly recommended
Oct 09, 2021 10:49I bought this computer for my daughter and she loves it. It is fast and easy to use. The thickness is not bad, although it is a bit heavy. I love being able to fold the screen back 360, no lag on the touch screen, and the lighted keyboard makes it easy to work on her homework any time of the day.
Oct 01, 2021 16:18This is a very solid all-around Chromebook. It's one serious competitor is the Acer Spin 713 which is better overall at a similar price point, but if you can get this one $100 or more cheaper, it's worth it!
Pros
- All metal
- Excellent backlit keyboard
- Lots of ports
- Speedy performance
Cons
- Screen is good but not as bright as Acer Spin 713
- A bit heavy for 14 inch (~3.6lbs)
Sep 19, 2021 09:33I needed this light laptop for travel. I still have to get used to the keyboard, which is somewhat different, but I think it will work well for keeping up with emails, posting to FB and backing up photos from the camera disk when I'm traveling. It had a slight glitch in the search capacity, but the Geek Squad cleared it up.
Oct 02, 2021 21:24Love this! Perfect laptop for this smartphone living Mom! Everything I need and more! Love the touch screen , light weight, and ease of use!!!!
Nov 05, 2021 16:30So far so good, love the touchscreen. Only issue is, chromebooks in general apparently don’t work with GoTo myPC meetings, webinars, etc and that’s what I use for work so I have to use my old laptop often still. I think the battery life says 5 or 6 hours but I think I get more like 8-10.
Sep 17, 2021 18:26In the past I used a cheap chromebook, which actually was more then sufficient for my needs however with all the online schooling, it was about time for my son to get something better. The chromebook is awesome. Build quality is awesome, snappy and all the hardware and software works in tandem
Sep 13, 2021 19:16Lighter than ever: This laptop is built to go wherever you go. Work and play naturally on the adaptable, ultra-light HP Pavilion x360 convertible PC. Go anywhere: Easily multi-task all day with a Quad Core Intel® Pentium® Silver processor, up to 128 GB Solid-State Drive and 9 hours and 30 minutes of video playback battery life. See more. Hear it all. Your photos and videos fill more of the screen with a thin bezel design. Experience rich authentic sound with dual speakers and HP Audio Boost with Audio by B&O.
This device is perfect for any person that wants a very light, small, 2 in 1 laptop at the best price even if it's not on sale! It has all the ports you need. 1 USB C, 2 USB 2.1, HDMI, Micro SD, and seriously what else you need for such a small 2 in 1 laptop. The screen resolution and material is great and perfect for both using it via the keyboard or a pen. I recommend this for those who need it for work, college, and general life tasks. Please do not buy this for video editing, gaming, photo editing, entertainment, or any other heavy tasks. The ram is only 4 GB but the good news is that it has a quad core processor with a fast hard drive. This by far is one of the best products from HP that I have ever purchased even it was not on sale!
Oct 26, 2021 08:41Works perfectly well. Convenient for students. Small but reliable and does the work.
Sep 17, 2021 19:45I had it's other version that was the same thing but didn't have the 360 screen feature or touch screen. The one I had before for 2 years and it stopped working so I got this one, specifically for the use of college work/remote work on zoom etc... It does it's job good and does what it's supposed to. I have no complaints and got the geek squad 2 year for it just in case (which I highly recommend cause you'll feel more secure).
Sep 24, 2021 16:03I love the HP touchscreen laptops. This is my second one and I would get another in a heartbeat. I got the smaller one this time so I could tuck it into my purse. It handles all of my workload with ease and Zoom is great on the go when I'm not in the office. The sound isnt so great so I have to use earbuds for some meetings. But that isnt hte end of the world.
Oct 22, 2021 18:29bought this for my daughter to help with school work. Seems to work well. the screen is a little small but works well for her. Touch screen/ tablet option is a nice option as well
Oct 26, 2021 13:06My son helped me select this laptop and I like it a lot. It is easy to use, it is light weight and compact. I like the fact that the keyboard folds away if I don't need it. The keys have a nice light touch unlike my old laptop where I had to press hard on the keys. Over all it was perfect for me.
Jul 24, 2021 15:04small but power hp laptop. its currently exceeding my expection
Jul 07, 2021 10:07I bought this for a Microsoft class just to have ease of use and this didn’t disappoint. Great price for a fully functional laptop. Can get hung up a little bit bc of the slower processor but I can’t complain when it cost me less than $300! I would buy again.
Nov 06, 2021 13:19See and do it all in perfect color: The ENVY x360 15 gives you a dazzling high definition screen with accurate color and more ways to make your masterpiece with HP Quick Drop file sharing. Power to set your creativity free: Unleash your creativity with the power and performance of an AMD Ryzen™ processor and Radeon™ Graphics that make every task incredibly fast and efficient. Peace of mind at your fingertips: Keep it confidential with privacy camera shutter key to turn camera off and a mute mic button for private conversations.
I made the right decision to purchase this HP ENVY 360 2 in 1, Ryzen 7 laptop. It is beautiful to look at and not too heavy to carry. It has all the features I need as a Small Business Owner and I even purchased a pen! I am a satisfied HP Customer.
May 23, 2021 11:07A Geek staff told me that Ryzen was more compatible in my online newsletter work. Other stats met my requirements for size et. al. We shall see.
Oct 20, 2021 18:52loving it so far the fan gets a bit loud sometimes, and working in the screen is a bit dim working outdoors but otherwise works great!
Jun 15, 2021 10:15This is exactly what I wanted. Finger print reader was easy to find and set up. Responsive full hd touch screen. Backlit keyboard. The hinge is super easy to use, I can literally open it with one Finger. It came with A free trial of both Macafee and Webroot anti-virus but I already have Norton on my other devices. Overall a great value.
Jun 11, 2021 19:22I really appreciate the AMD processor in this computer. It’s much better than the comparable Intel chip and at a lower price. There aren’t many laptops that use AMD chips other than in the budget models, so this is a huge plus.
I have no complaints about my setup with this computer except for two things. One is that the screen is not bright enough to be used outside. The screen is glossy like most touchscreens so it needs to be really bright if you want to use it outside, and this isn’t it. HP does offer this model with a brighter display but you probably have to buy it from them to get it. I don’t use it outside too much, and when I do, I have almost always found just enough shade to make it work. If I did use it outside a lot this would be a deal breaker.
Second is that it was not offered with 16 GB of RAM at the time of purchase, and even worse, there are no free memory slots. It ships with 2x4 GB rather than 1x8 GB, so if you want to upgrade the memory, you have to buy all 16 GB separately and you will be left with two 4 GB chips that no one really wants. I got this computer at a good price by chance, so spending an extra $80 or so on RAM didn’t kill me, but just know that if you want that 16 GB it’s going to cost you.
Nov 17, 2021 18:20So far so good.Very light, sturdy and lightning fast.Screen is crispy sharp. No noise and no overheating.Using it for school.Turning it on is super fast.I like also the fingerprint security reader.Highly
recommended.
Jun 11, 2021 15:48Its a fast and great quality laptop. My only issues so far was that when i first got it, it had an overheating issue despite being used on the table, and that has resolved itself mostly. My only complaint is that the metal frame surrounding the ports are thin and seem to bend easily. I’ve flipped the laptop several times to use its touchscreen function and it has hit the table a couple times (difficult to avoid since the laptop is a bit big and clunky when flipping), but that has warped metal around my USB ports on both ends. The bottom cover has loosened a couple times as well and ive mostly just clipped it back together but it is not as tight as before. Overall could improve its durability.
Nov 04, 2021 17:45Computer works very well for what I need it to do, but I noticed the icons on the task bar blinking on and off as I am using the computer which makes me think I purchased computer with some issues because it was a return and I wasn't told if it had issues. I was told it was checked but not if any issues were found. I would recommend purchasing a new item, never used.

Great laptop for a first-time adult laptop user. I use an android phone and my company runs on google so this keeps everything synced. I never learned how to use a laptop/computer besides a phone and this makes life so much easier for me. The price was great and I don't worry about it being so expensive I can't replace it if something happens. Great battery life, too!
Nov 02, 2021 12:22I love the laptop. It is a very simple OS and I can run the programs much easier and faster then with my Windows Dell lap top.
It is a great deal. I find it much easier to navigate for my few programs that I use it for.
Aug 07, 2021 03:29Overall, a nice little laptop. Was initially hesitant about getting a Chromebook (vs. normal laptop) but it's been surprisingly seamless. This model works quite well; slick design and very portable...
Sep 17, 2021 17:29This computer is great. It's very fast and compact. The only downside is that it won't download lockdown browser for school. If you need lockdown browser, this computer isn't for you.
Oct 18, 2021 00:32I love my new 2 in 1 laptop/tablet. This is my first personal pc and I couldn't be happier with my decision and overall shopping experience.
Oct 29, 2021 08:02I've had this chromebook for a little over a week now and so far it does everything that I need it to do. (This is my first time purchasing a laptop). I'm able to check my emails, play a few games from the Google Play Store, browse the web; and look at Movies/TV shows. So far I am happy with my purchase.
Sep 27, 2021 17:42ive been on the laptop for 3 days now. And i think its a great computer. and because its a chromebook its simple to get started. I thinks its gong to give me several years of dervice.
Nov 07, 2021 12:12I ordered it the night before and received it by the next morning. Very light and easy to use.

I've only owned HP laptops, and this is by far the best of the best. I love it because it's very lightweight and the keyboard lights up for night time use which my old one didn't have. The only drawback was I had to sacrifice my number keypad for the 2 in 1 feature, but I can learn to live without it. There are no negatives to this laptop which I can see except it was a bit pricey but you get what you pay for and I got a lot of extras with this. Love it!!!
Jun 23, 2021 14:57What can I say? Truly and outstanding product in the HP - Envy x360 2-in1 15.6 Touch-Screen. I like the IntelCore i7 with 16 GB Memory and 512GB SSD + 32GB Intel Optane. Now instead of a 30 or 40 minute wait on my old system to less that 10 seconds to start meaningful work. I have been in IT from 54 plus years. Buy this product is all I can say!!!
Oct 08, 2021 18:14Great product. Suitable for both home and office.good quality workmanship that you will feel when touched...
Oct 10, 2021 13:58This laptop is the best ever! I purchased an open box and as Josh at best buy stated it was a great purchase
Apr 30, 2021 15:22The computer is super fast and lightweight. It connects really fast to my personal cell phone.
Oct 19, 2021 23:25My Boyfriend loves it and his using it for his job great deal and very recommended to other people to get this item
Aug 20, 2021 17:39Nice laptop but I went back for the black which I preferred they told me they can change it for me I was so sad
Aug 13, 2021 15:50Hi, I purchased this laptop for music production and heavy administrative work. I had hoped that it would be reliable and durable but after 2 weeks of lite use and 1 week of slightly moderate internet browsing there is constant overheating. Called HP tech support and am now regretting having purchased this laptop. It is very expensive, should have high quality but falling short for some reason. No damages done to this laptop, barely used.

I love this computer!!!! I love it! It’s been so long since I’ve had a newer laptop I just held on to a very very old model that probably was popular in the early 2000s but my attitude is If it works no need to replace.
Man was I shocked to see what all they have now. BLEW MY MIND THEY HAVE TOUCH SCREEN LAPTOPS!! I was shocked it’s like a big phone! IT FLIPS ALL THE WAY BACK TO LOOK LIKE A TABLET!!! and even have the same QWERTY keyboard that pop up like it do in your phone. Speaking of QWERTY even the actual keyboard lights up giving it that née space age feel. Reminds me of my old toshiba satellite. I love it all!!!!! I even bought this pen stylus for it. The response time between the laptop to finger for touch is amazing. It recognizes the same actions as my phone putting your finger to hold and touch to move icons and double touching.
It took my a while to get use to it I still am struggling a little bit because it reminds me of my phone it helps with the familiar feel. Their are somethings I don’t like. This is my first HP I’m normally a toshiba or a Leno something brand. That was a hand me down laptop I was using until it didn’t a few weeks ago.
I love the computer but getting use to hp apps and software and the way they put things on there sucks. That’s the only frustrating thing about it all. 365 is way too much it’s overwhelming with all that extra junk and the “subscription services” makes me want to vomit!!! It miss the old days you pay for it and u good! Now stuff is yearly and monthly!! Barfff The Microsoft App Store is overwhelming and it’s just tooo much for me. The computer is perfect for me. I just use to for quick internet 10 15 mins and I put it away for the rest of the week lol I really use my phone more
The only true reason I got it was cause when I wanted to visit a certain website they no longer let phones navigate it like it use to plus every blue moon I need to type up something and I got tired to library trips to do it and print.
This should last me for a very long time. It’s a beautiful machine.
Sep 10, 2021 22:40This is a pretty good laptop for on the go. Perfect for students and creatives. The aluminum chassis gives it a premium look and has the perfect bezel for the amount of ports. I’m glad it still has the USB-A ports for my external hard drives. You can also charge with the thunderbolt port. This 2-n-1 is good for photographers and graphic designers. Just note that the color gamut is average even though the screen is Full HD, so the color won’t be as accurate. You’ll get 64% sRGB, 48% AdobeRGB and 48% DCI-P3 which is not horrible but you can upgrade your screen to 4K and it can bring up accuracy tremendously. With the Intel i7 processor this laptop is FAST. Even with the 8gb I can still multitask different projects on it. All in all it’s a good laptop, it just needs a few improvements.
Jul 21, 2021 12:57This product is good. I love it. Am enjoying it. Everyone try it.
Jun 18, 2021 17:52Team
I bought a new hp laptop today and I could see a defect in the device. There is a minor damage at the left corner of the device which makes the appearance awkward. Would like to get a response on this
Attaching the photos and I cannot roam around to return the device since the shop is far from my place
Jul 24, 2021 14:43Garbage. I wouldn't recommend to my enemy. ALL OF MY THUMBNAILS ARE RED X'S, and HP wants ME to shell out $300 to fix it! The laptop itself is lovely until you want to save images and find out they are all red x's. I waste so much time looking for pictures. If I hadn't paid so much for it, I'd do an Office Space job on it and get a new one. But I'm stuck with this garbage another year or two.
Jul 31, 2021 11:58First impressions very versatile. For students this should hit the spot, I also I tried a couple of games from the windows store (sea of thieves and ages of empires definitive edition) I was able to play both smoothly. My only concern is the storage, so now I'm looking into external drives for the future. Standard envelope in the picture for size comparison.
Jul 31, 2021 10:43Purchased a small laptop so it would be easier to handle and take with me when I travel! This HP model does exactly what I need it to do! I bought the-blush color! The only drawback is the keyboard that is also a light blush color! I can’t see the keys unless I have direct light shining on it!
Sep 03, 2021 17:45First of all, I primarily use this laptop for online university courses, YouTube, and my kids homework assignments and online classes. We use the web browser and Microsoft word primarily. The speed is fine for what we use it for. The sound quality is clear and plenty loud for video and music. It is light weight but sturdy. It easily fits into a backpack. I can charge my phone from it using my phone charger cord and it charges very quickly. The computer battery lasts as expected and charges quickly. The charger cord is a good length.
The only cons I’ve had so far are with the touchscreen. While I love the convenience, we often accidentally close programs or web browser when adjusting the how open or closed the laptop is. My preschooler uses the laptop for her online school and primarily uses the touch screen, but often accidentally closes everything when adjusting the screen. This feature is tricky especially for young kids and probably for people with any sort of manual dexterity problems. Maybe there’s a solution to this problem, but I haven’t figured it out.
I mix having a keypad to the side and wish it had that feature.
Another thing that isn’t a big issue, but it doesn’t look nearly as gold or rose gold or “light gold” in person as in the pictures. It barely doesn’t look silver to me. Don’t get this expecting it to look like a soft gold. It’s a very very soft gold I guess.
I would likely get it again.

So far so good. I’ve been having trouble with touchscreen chrome books so I decided not to get one this time. I like the quality of this & the sound isn’t too bad either.
Oct 20, 2021 12:41This is a a very nice chrome book but will be returning because the auto update ends in June 2024. I brought my wife a very similar one last year and that one is till 2026.
I don't know how it will work once expired but not goanna take a chance. For something that was released this year the date is not acceptable.
There is a 11.6 which is 50 less that is also on sale and has similar expiration. I was able to check that one at the store with the help of the geek squad, The 14 inch model was not on display.
Oct 21, 2021 19:29No problems so far with my purchase and it was at a great price for a 14inch. Does the job school work, downloads, games, streaming, etc.
Oct 19, 2021 15:04For the price can’t go wrong I got one for my mother 3 years ago in Black Friday and it worked great she needed an new one saw this and got
Oct 20, 2021 18:36Great product at a great price. Perfect for what my student needs!
Oct 21, 2021 07:41Purchased this to replace a more expensive laptop that had gone to greener pastures. Great buy and HP never lets me down.
Oct 23, 2021 15:58This is a nice chromebook,After purchasing it I found out it is only supported with security updates until june 2024,returned it and got a different one
Nov 02, 2021 13:57A great machine if you get it at the 150 sale price. 350 may be a bit steep but it's a quality product so far.

I love my HP-15.6" Laptop Intel Core i3. When I was at Best Buy to see the different computers I was getting service from an employee that helped me out a lot to decide which would be my best computer that fits fits my needs. I was very happy with the service and I recommend Best Buy a lot. It is a great place to buy great items.
Aug 29, 2021 10:21I was so nervous to buy a laptop online as a Christmas gift to my father, but I’m so happy I did! This laptop is super sleek, fast, & great quality. He absolutely loves it!
Nov 09, 2021 17:23Just got it the other day so haven’t done much on it besides update and stuff but so far so good hopefully it stays that way
Oct 25, 2021 15:25Very happy with my new HP laptop computer. It fits my needs perfectly at this time. It’s a little wider than I thought I wanted but the numeric keypad is important to me. I utilized Best Buy’s comparison feature online to decide on the computer that I wanted. It was very helpful for me.
Jul 21, 2021 07:19Fast computer
Great display
Was not aware laptop Windows was in S Mode. Salesperson did not mention that to me; what it is/is not; any workarounds, etc. It was a complete surprise to me when I started using it at home. I had to learn what it is, benefits, disadvantages, etc.
I finally figured it all out. I would have appreciated it if the salesperson would have mentioned it to me. Actually, I don't think she even knew or was aware it came in Windows S mode. That would have saved a lot of time and effort on my part.
Overall, this laptop was a good buy.
Oct 26, 2021 14:00Was able to buy and have my sister pickup the computer and printer using the online adding people to pickup purchase. I live in Northern California she is in Southern California so it worked out great for my little sis Bday!
Oct 17, 2021 14:36For a budget laptop this seems high end. If you are a gamer this not for you, but if you want good all round laptop that's easy to move around with then consider this one.
Oct 15, 2021 20:40For the price, you can't beat this laptop. It is true, it can be loud when the fan is running at 100%, and I agree with others, loudest fan I have ever heard on a laptop. However, it doesn't run at 100% all the time, and only kicks in when it starts up, installing updates or doing more intense activity. Laptop is mainly used for web browsing and it functions great. Came with Windows 10 S mode, easily switched it to the regular mode so I could install chrome and other normal programs / apps.
Nov 04, 2021 21:46See and do it all in perfect color: The ENVY x360 15 gives you a dazzling high definition screen with accurate color and more ways to make your masterpiece with HP Quick Drop file sharing.
This is the second HP Envy laptop that we're using for our business. It's replacing a Lenovo we originally bought in 2015. Though the 15.6" touchscreen is smaller than our other 17" model purchased in 2017, the real difference is not having a number keypad to the right of the qwerty layout. We love the nightfall black look vs. the chrome body too. The dark color with white lighted keys creates a good contrast whether working during the day or late into the night. In addition, the black version was nearly $100 in savings.
Sep 17, 2021 19:09I'm absolutely pleased with this laptop. I'm able to run several apps and graphic onto a drawing tablet I use with pen and everything has been smooth. Impressed and definitely worth every penny! Thanks!
Jun 19, 2021 09:45I bought it as a gift for Father’s Day for my husband and his face was priceless when I surprise him...Bestbuy did again
Jul 10, 2021 11:49Defective product (vertical line on screen the 1st time I opened it, I was excited and recorded a video of me opening it since it was a gift for my sister on her wedding! Unfortunately, I did NOT pay attention to the vertical line on the screen! I did not want to set up the computer for her, and then closed it and saved till I traveled overseas to attend her wedding and give her this gift!!!... When she opened it at home, she noticed the vertical line!.. I was sooooo sad and did not expect any issues with a brand new computer! I had no idea bestbuy sells defective products!! Since the super short return period of 14 days !!
Sep 11, 2021 09:50This computer is awesome. I highly recommend it. I use it to tutor online and having a touchscreen makes it so easy. I love the size not too big or too small plus it is really lightweight. It was definitely worth the money. It has great battery life and fingerprint touch to open and it looks sleek.
Sep 17, 2021 16:04Getting a laptop for back to school- easier said than done. I had bought and returned 2 computers at Best Buy, Levittown before this HP Envy 360. The first two times, all the associates were busy with multiple customers who, also were trying to buy a computer... we made purchases without having all the information... upon arriving home, both computers were much too slow. Upon our third visit, we met a gentleman named Carven.... bless his soul! This man had the patience of a saint. My girlfriend and I were bouncing from laptop to laptop - so fearful we would buy another laptop and have to return it yet again. Carven went above and beyond, giving us honest answers to our questions and comparing certain instances & questions to his own life experiences (and laptop use). We must have been there for over 2 hours. And similar to the first two times, there were many other customers there - trying to get help with answers to their questions. The difference this time, is Carven never forgot about us. Because of how unsure I was, I would tell him, "Okay, go help someone else and I'll think about what I want to do..." 5-10 minutes later, there Carven was again, to answer about 50 more questions I had. Poor guy, I really made him work. BUT - my boyfriend, myself and Carven finally decided on The HP Envy x360. We bought it with a certainty, that we did not have while purchasing the other two. Fast forward a month, and I am in LOVE with this computer. It is just what I needed, FAST & able to MULTITASK with no problem. It also came with all the bells and whistled that I preferred but did not necessarily need - like a touch screen. Carven deserves a promotion - truly. Thank you Carven, for being a caring, hardworking and genuinely GOOD HEARTED individual - you made the start of my semester stress free and easy. I appreciate you and will be back to purchase any future electronics from you!
Sep 11, 2021 11:40Opening up the computer its mentioned in the description that there is 2 m.2 slots and upon futhere inspection there is only 1
Oct 12, 2021 15:11The HP Envy X360 is all new and redesigned for 2021. This new design has omitted the tradition number pad which some may not like. Off to either side of the keyboard are air vents ( not speakers unfortunately) which provide ventilation intakes to keep the AMD 5600U CPU nice and cooled. The laptop has 8GB of 3200mhz DDR4 installed for multitasking and getting productivity done. Adding more ram will boost performance and allow for dual channel mode. The internal AMD Radeon Vega graphics will certainly benefit from more ram and it will allow you to play casual games and low to medium settings. Overall not a bad laptop however keep in mind that the speakers are not upward facing as it would appear to be. They downward firing and can sound muffled if using laptop on lap.

I wasn't sure what to expect buying a refurbished laptop, but I've never been happier. I absolutely love this computer and haven't had a single issue.
Nov 05, 2021 18:14So far so good. I’m used to this model fro my office and needed one for personal use. Had a cheaper ho but it was slow and had cheap components. I bought this refurbished elite book and it works like a new one so far. My only complaint is it does not have a touch screen as advertised.
Feb 19, 2021 17:24I couldn't be happier with this purchase. This refurbished laptop is completely unblemished. Could easily pass as a brand new machine. Fresh clean windows install which takes you through setup just like a new PC. Everything works, Keyboard is perfect, screen is perfect, camera , speakers everything. I haven't had a problem at all installing any of my required software.
I was really hesitant to buy a refurbished laptop after reading horror stories on Amazon and other sites. There honestly is not a scratch or any wear on this PC. Maybe I was lucky , but if the one you get from Best Buy is like mine you will be 100% satisfied.
Jul 25, 2020 17:54This laptop works great. Solid buy for the price. Have had no hang ups with it. M daughter loves it. Uses it for school and playing Minecraft.
May 16, 2020 10:19Great laptop For a great price. We are very pleased with the quality and responsiveness of this laptop
Jul 10, 2020 16:46Responsive and reliable performance: Surf, stream, and do so much more with a powerful Intel® Core™ processor. Great purchase. They told me it was ready 2 days before as espected. The laptop its in great condittion. Best Buy is The Boss!
Aug 13, 2021 15:46Great deal. Screen doesn't get all the bright as most other HP machines I've purchased which is sad. Its a matte display though so you wont have reflection issues which is a huge plus!
The integrated gpu in this cpu is a bit better than amd's APUs so moba gaming is no problem at higher settings. The CPU is pretty fast.
Nothing bad to say other than the display was a bit lackluster in the brightness department
Aug 06, 2021 15:42Great buy. The speed is great. I haven't experienced any lagging since I started using it.
Unlike some other laptops I have used in the past, the fan on this hardly has any noise, it just works quietly and effortlessly. The keyboard is so smooth, it makes typing fun!
The only thing missing on the keyboard is the light on the "num lock". It should have a light to indicate when it is on like the "caps lock".
The battery life is great, I get up to 5 hours on a full charge before needing to plug it up.
This is very good overall, I love it!
Oct 09, 2021 16:38It's a good laptop, but not great. For some reason I must press the Start button twice to have it boot up. The MyHP screen in the store said Windows 11 comes with the purchase and you get three months free of Office 365. When I brought it home the my HPscreen does not say anything about Windows 11 upgrade is included and it gives only one month free of Office 365. I messaged the company and one rep said I don't get Windows 11. Another rep said I do. They said they would email me the conversation. I never received the email.
Sep 26, 2021 11:52We recently had an installation done at our church. New sound board, WI-FI connection, multiple smart TVs to be connected to new computer for services, lots of wiring, lots of connecting to microphones that were previously connected to old system, etc. All of the men were very friendly, respectful, patient, and very knowledgeable. We have an older congregation and our congregation members that were there to explain our old system and put in their requests were definitely among our "older" congregation and not up to date with new technology. This did not seem to be a hinderance to the Geek Squad, they all kept very friendly and professional. Eric was the lead Squad member, David Williams is my main contact. Very grateful for all.
Sep 18, 2021 08:07This was the perfect computer for a busy pastor and teacher who must be able to take everything with him on the go and sometimes in rugged outdoor situations. The case is really durable as well as attractive. The large screen size is a big plus as it is the sole computer available at the moment for work projects — there is not an office desktop.
Nov 12, 2021 17:46It is comfortable to use so I really like that. I'm not very teck savvy in my older years so I appreciate the ease of it and all the folks at Best Buy that are so easy to talk to and get answers.
Oct 11, 2021 10:43First, why did I shop at Best Buy and why did I buy the HP laptop. Because of the Extremely knowledgeable and professional Geek Squad and the store staff. Helpful and courteous every time. I used the Geek Squad over ten time is the past 5 years: "Outstanding every time". Second, was the Best Buy recommendation along with the reliability and usability of my HP laptop. Great choice, Thanks Best Buy team!

Laptop is lightweight and very practical. I am still getting used to Windows 11 but overall it is a great product. Best feature is the touch screen
Nov 06, 2021 10:43Great keyboard for typing, Touch screen is very responsiv,e no lag, the i3 Processor is no slouch here!
Nov 03, 2021 21:39Streaming, chatting, and getting things done is way more fun when you find your perfect position. Flex, bend and flip from anywhere with a 360-degree hinge and long lasting battery life.
It’s a great lap top. I’m using it for school. I also purchased an HP printer and the two devices work well together. The lap top is light weight. The color is very classic. The touch screen made it easy to use;I didn’t purchase a mouse because the touch screen is better. Tip for students: don’t buy the office 365 because your school most likely offers it for free. Also, definitely purchase the geek squad protection for the 3 years because that’s the average time the lap tops start to slow down. I purchased an open box and it was still immaculate. I got the one below the Geek Squad Certified level. I haven’t had the need for geek squad since I’ve only had it for a month but if you research the coverage it offers it’s definitely worth it. They don’t charge deductibles.
Jan 22, 2021 19:39The only laptop I have ever owned was a chromebook, so I was pretty skeptical about ordering one online without knowing what it’s like in person. I am absolutely happy that I chose this laptop. To have all these features for such a low price (compared to other brands) is what sold it for me and I don’t regret it at all.
Oct 09, 2020 15:55Its light, not heavy
The bright of the keyboard is cool
The fact that the the screen its touch is useful for me.
The size is perfect for me.
I can use it as tablet because its convertible, the screen can turn all the way around.
Sep 25, 2020 17:23I LOVE this laptop!! Super quick, so many different features. Touch screen is so convenient, screen is wide and beautiful. Light up keyboard is awesome. I absolutely love this computer. Well worth the money!!!
Jan 29, 2021 15:37This is an awesome laptop, fully made of metal very fast after a few minor adjustments to the settings. Very durable a bit heavy but again it's all metal
Jan 22, 2021 16:32Great open box deal, saved me over $150! If you’re sceptical about buying open box items like I was, have no fear buying them with Best Buy. This literally was like buying a brand new product (open box excellent)
Sep 03, 2021 17:36Love my new laptop. Especially like how it folds and turns into a tablet as well. Haven’t really used it much since I got it for when I start school in the Fall
Jun 11, 2021 15:41WOULDN'T Pay More Than $500.00 If I Had To Buy This Exact Model Again. For $750.00 It Should At Least Have A Numerical Keypad Independent From The Function Keys Like On This ASUS ROG Gaming Computer Included in The Attached Photo. It's nice for rough use ...for daily use especially for students..sound is awesome loud
Oct 24, 2021 17:46This lat top is east good value for this price is light weight
Nov 05, 2021 15:59Missing 2.5 expansion that previous models had... if you upgrade use a tool not your fingernails to get the plastic pulled off the bottom. start at the front of laptop and work around the sides the back just hinges off, if you pry the back you will break plastic tabs. the plastic is soft so where I pryed of the back cover there are dents. So be careful.
Oct 29, 2021 14:38I BOUGHT THIS TO REPLACE A 12 YEAR LAPTOP THAT DIED ON ME. I SHOPPED AROUND AND THIS WAS THE BEST DEAL I FOUND. I ORDER ONLINE FOR IN STORE PICK UP. IT CAME IN A DAY EARLIER THEN ESTIMATE. IT WAS EASY TO SET UP. IT TOOK A WHILE TO RUN ALL THE UPDATES BUT THAT IS NORMAL. I WAS SURPRISED HOW MUCH LIGHTER THIS ONE IS.
Aug 12, 2021 19:28Specs for the money are pretty good, featuring a decent Intel processor with usable integrated graphics, a decent 1080p display for watching content (though I do wish it could be brighter), and decent enough speakers. Battery life is good too for what it is. Keyboard is good to type on too which plenty of travel and a quiet mechanism, would be better supplemented with backlighting but this model doesn’t have that option, but not a dealbreaker by any means. And the fingerprint reader seems accurate and responsive, a nice value-add.
I will say the webcam quality can be better, a less whiny fan sound if at all possible, and perhaps not as flimsy of a chassis design. Granted some things for cost cutting are due to the price of the machine overall, but are worth pointing out.
Nov 12, 2021 16:11I liked it well enough that I bought another for my spouse.
Positives:
Very bright screen
Fast boot
SSD drive
Very light
Fingerprint scanner
SD card reader
Priced lower than many Chromebooks (got mine on sale for $400)
Compatible with Win 11
(I haven't run it on battery, so really don't know how good)
Negatives:
No ethernet port
Only 3 USB ports
Has crashed a few times (1. "lost" hard drive, 2. something is running driver verify, causing crash)
Hard drive adequate, but small.
Typical for HP: lots of unwanted programs to uninstall
Keyboard a little difficult to see
Nov 13, 2021 08:53The laptop is great for school and is pretty speedy. If you want to draw or do some photoshop on it though, the color accuracy is not very good but that is to be expected. To be more specific, it has a yellow tint (no night light mode) and the darker colors are not too deep. One troubling issue I had was the power brick becoming very hot to the point where it burns if I touch it. It also has this weird smell when it gets very hot. I might have gotten a defective product but I’m not sure. The battery life is not the greatest. About 2-3 hours. I mainly run Microsoft edge (Chrome takes too much resources) and Microsoft word.
Nov 21, 2021 02:06For this price, this is a great little laptop with mid-level capabilities. The i5 processor is a nice balance of power an power-management and while some activities were forcing use of swap once the physical memory was exhausted, I happened to have a compatible pair of unused 8GB sodimms I was able to easily install boosting the memory to 16GB. So far I haven't seen the laptop resort to swap memory, and it seems like my battery life is a little better as well! I would not hesitate to buy this again for the price and capability of this little trooper of a laptop!
Nov 20, 2021 00:52Purposefully designed: Get things done with a peace of mind, the HP 17 Laptop PC is designed with ocean-bound plastic.(63c) See more on the 17-inch diagonal high resolution screen with a narrow bezel, and get comfy while you type with a new lift-hinge that elevates the keyboard. Performance you can trust: Multitasking feels easy and fast with the performance of an AMD processor, powerful graphics, and speedy Wi-Fi technology. Store more of what you love with a lot of storage. Breathe easy: Everyday computing made easy, with comfort features like HP Fast Charge and a big click pad, this laptop let's you do you.
Since I couldn't find any teardowns of this laptop online, I've provided some pictures in this review.
YOU CAN ABSOLUTELY UPGRADE THE RAM IN THIS LAPTOP.
Do not listen to HP Support, they know nothing. They are just reading from an automated response sheet, they have never even seen this laptop.
This laptop comes with 1 stick of Samsung 8GB DDR4 3200 RAM (Model: M471A1G44AB0-CWE)
There is an additional SODIMM slot for another stick of RAM, so you can run 2 sticks in dual channel. (Funny enough, the words "One Dimm Only" are printed on the PCB where the second RAM slot is, probably so the assemblers don't put in 2 and give you a free stick). The second slot is fully functional. I even put in a non-matching stick of Crucial RAM and the system recognized it and booted right up.
Otherwise, a very standard new laptop. m.2 NvME drive in the lower right, Wifi card in the center left, and even a spot for a standard laptop SATA drive in the lower left (the SATA hookups are missing though, so you'll have to figure that out on your own if you want to add a SATA drive).
There are 10 screws total that are holding on the bottom cover. The 6 black screws (circled in red) are under the 2 long rubber feet. The 4 silver screws (circled in blue) are easily accessible. You will then need to use PLASTIC tools to pry and unclip the bottom case. Be careful and gentle, even plastic tools can dent and mar the plastic casing.
All in all, a great 17" laptop for web browsing and doing regular office work.
Sep 14, 2021 22:43After listening to fake claim in first review i tried upgrading the ram. Bought a compatible ddr4 16 gb 3200 sodimm to add in 2nd slot. Nothing worked. System is not booting and screen is blank. Misleading reviews should be deleted.
Nov 09, 2021 19:05NICE & AWESOME.
IT'S A GOOD LAPTOP VERY VERY NICE.
COLOR IS NICE AND THE MEMORY EXCELLENT
Oct 01, 2021 15:43Great budget laptop. Would have preferred Windows 10 Pro and not Windows 10 in "S" mode, but the laptop is good.
Oct 02, 2021 10:44First off I only buy my electronics from Best Buy they have the best products and great warranty. I love my new Lap top very sophisticated and stylish. it has all the updated features being I just upgraded from my old lap top which was 20 years old LOL. i love it and highly recommend it.
Sep 28, 2021 14:01Good processing power and large monitor for seeing the big picture! Wish it had a touch screen. Way faster than the i3 laptop this replaced.
Oct 15, 2021 12:21It’s bigggg!!! But it works for me wonderfully!!!!
Oct 16, 2021 11:02First HP laptop...previously owned both Toshiba and Lenovo... highly recommend this HP!
Sep 18, 2021 16:27HP’s most powerful Spectre convertible yet looks stunning and runs smooth with a 4K, nearborderless display, long battery life and security features for your peace of mind.
The technology is amazing and this thing is so fast! I love that I can switch between laptop and tablet instantly, sync with my phone and grab the stylus to jot down equations, notes, or anything I need to write. The fan does get a little loud sometimes but it's a lot of power and it's super thin and light, so of course it's going to have to run a little more often and be a little noisy. This has been by far my favorite laptop I have ever used. The screen is beautiful and sound is great. I spend all day as a QA analyst on my work laptop and am thrilled when I get to switch over to this amazing beast for personal use and homework. There were many features I didn't think I would need, like the facial recognition login, that make this laptop such a joy to use. I've been able to do hours of work, watch a few videos and do an hour seminar in one sitting without ever worrying about running out of battery. I spent days researching before I chose this laptop, as I tend to be a reluctant buyer, but as soon as it powered up I knew I was going to love it. The box arrived a little beat up but everything inside was well packed and undamaged.
Apr 19, 2021 09:47Like the pen, style and speed. Tablet works well but a little on the heavy side. The Rep. did state that upfront when we were comparing other products so I wasn't let down. Just thiught i would mention it. For the price I paid i would've thought that hp would make accessories available for it. Such as a keyboard protector or screen protector. I was able to find screen protector but not from bb. Im still learning all the functions and think i might of accidentally clicked the stickey key function because when web browsing as i tried to type the letter "t" for the it just kept on opening a new tab. I eventually had to close out and reopen a new browser. I am hoping its not a malfunction but a human error.
Jul 25, 2021 20:21Build quility 10/10 great work, watching movies and listening to music. I mainly use it fornwork, video chats, meetings, powerpoint,multi-tasking etc. Not one issue. Runs great its very quite even when the fans kick in. Its also goos for light gaming. Highly recommend this laptop.
May 07, 2021 13:00Made a huge mistake. I owned the 13.3 4k OLED HP Spectre with 11th gen i5. Best buy then puts the 15" model on sale which is i7 and double the memory for only $40 something more.
Major difference in screen quality. Yes I know OLED is always going to look better however check out the photo I attached there is CRAZY Light bleed everywhere. I tried watching a movie and playing a game. Anytime a dark scene was on it was something I could not look past. When you are not on a dark scene looks AMAZING!
HP Needs to have better quality control when they build their screen because I have owned nothing but NON OLED laptops and never had this issue.
If you can look past the screen laptop is awesome. Light weight for 15", i7 11th gen and 16gb ram. Only reason its not an EVO is it has a barrel charger not USB TYPE C but it has Hello face login with fingerprint.
Again if you are not watching movies or playing games where there is going to be dark scenes then this is a great laptop.
Dec 14, 2020 13:22I have been eyeing this laptop for more then a year and finally pulled the trigger love the light and sleekness of it the touch screen and stylus comes in handy for my schoolwork love that I can shut off the camera by a button just all around great laptop

Overly exceeded my expectations! I am a tech.., this Laptop is first class all th way! It folds into a phenomenal Tablet!>
Jul 09, 2021 17:43This is an well rounded computer. It has everything you need. I use it for school and so far so good( I had my computer for a week now). The computer comes in 3 boxes so it is well protected.
May 17, 2021 22:43So far I'm very happy with my over all purchase. Love the 2 and one aspect of it. Also happy it came with a protection padded Sleeve. Geek squad set it up for me and it's working just fine.

Nov 20, 2021 00:52Enjoy incredible performance in a smaller PC and mind-blowing entertainment with a micro-edge screen and Audio by B&O.
Great laptop! Touch screen big plus! Fast processor. Love the numeric keypad on the right side. Only downside there is no ethernet port. Not a big issue but I had to buy an ethernet port adapter. Video quality is very sharp. Colors are bright.
The wait was a little long at the store to see a representative. But once I had my turn, he was very knowledgeable, patient, and did not rush us. We compared a few laptops and then found this particular one which is perfect for what I need it for. Great customer service on the floor once we had a turn.
Oct 30, 2021 13:08I am loving my laptop this far. I was concerned by it not being full HD but I can barely tell a difference. It is perfect for my needs.
Oct 01, 2021 15:45Love the colors and ease of use touch screen. So light weight, too
Oct 01, 2021 16:44It does everything I need it to dow from recreation to work. I miss the full flip of my last laptop but. No biggie. There is one that ing that makes me want to throw this laptop into my pool. If it's not plugged in it gets dimmer even though I've already changed the settings. I've tried to become a coder and or computer hardware engineer to fix it. It's so slight yet uncomfortable for my eyes. I feel like I'm being gaslit. If you like to use your laptop 85% brightness or less you will probably be fine. But other than that. You've basically got a desktop because it always will need to be on the charger o be at full brightness no matter your settings.
Sep 11, 2021 13:01Designed to keep you productive and entertained from anywhere, the HP 15-inch Laptop combines long lasting battery life with a thin micro-edge bezel design. Thin, light, and designed to travel. See more of your photos, videos and projects on a 6.5 mm micro-edge bezel display. Tackle your busiest days with the performance of a reliable processor. Save more of what you love with abundant storage for all your photos, videos and documents.
+ Great deal of a laptop!
+ Ryzen 7 4700U is top notch. With SSD and 8GB RAM, its a powerful gadget. Gonna tell you later after one month usage
+ The screen is crystal crisp.
+ Lightweight and thin
+ This one has fingerprint sensor on it. I wasnt expecting this actually. Nice surprise.
- all plastic, you'll feel some cracking noise when you hold it
- fan noise is noticeable especially when you run some tasks at once
Conclusion: Happy to buy this. However, for UPS, please read the delivery instruction carefully please. Thank God I checked the tracker frequently.
Aug 07, 2021 16:05You're getting exactly what you're paying for. This laptop gets things done. I mean sure, it may not have some fancy things you'll find in other laptops. But hey, for this price i think it's an absolute steal. I bought this laptop for my day to day MS Office work, and it works great. Browsing is also an absolute breeze on this one. Don't let any tech freak nerd to convince you otherwise. Go for it.
Aug 06, 2021 23:12So far, the laptop has been okay. Very fast and light, with the touch-screen being a nice feature, even though I don't use it much. The slot for the AC adapter is in an awkward location, right next to one of only two USB ports. I am still not convinced that the battery life is that long. It seems to drain very quickly when I leave the laptop on sleep mode for an extended period of time. Lastly, the keyboard is a bit narrow; HP could've used more space towards the screen to spread out the keys a bit. Otherwise, this would've been a great buy for about 100 dollars less; maybe more.
May 22, 2021 09:10Computer is very fast, and boys up quickly. The touchscreen is nice. What I really like is the fingerprint feature. Only two drawbacks is there’s no DVD drive. I had to buy an external drive. The other drawback is that there are only two USB-A ports. There’s a USB-C port, but you’ll need a USB-A to USB-C cable. Battery life is really good. I worked for Intel for several years, but I have always preferred AMD processors for their speed. The laptop is reasonably priced. I refuse to pay over $800 for a laptop that will be obsolete six months after it leaves the store. I’ve always been pleased with HP laptops. This has been my fourth HP laptop.
Nov 12, 2021 19:46I am very pleased with the features and speed of this laptop.
Oct 11, 2021 10:05Very early for a review but everything was as expected except the lettering on the keyboard is very hard to read. Bolder lettering would have improved it's use and my ratings.
Jun 25, 2021 20:47Got this laptop for my mother in law who was using a 15 year old MacBook. She wanted to go back to a PC, and she loves it. It's fast, does everything she needs, and the screen is good. Good combination of a quality CPU and RAM.
Be aware that it ships in Windows S mode, so you can only install apps from the windows store. This can be turned off so it works like any other PC, but once you do you can't go back.
Nov 10, 2021 07:48I love my laptop computer. It was easy to set up and down load what I wanted. It is a very clear and sharp picture. I like the fingerprint function. It is a nice size for what I need.
May 01, 2021 10:13HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 2-in-1 Laptop: Complete urgent work projects with this 14-inch HP Pavilion x360 convertible laptop. The Intel UHD integrated graphics produce vivid visuals on the Full HD screen, while the 256GB SSD provides ample storage space and rapid boot times. This HP Pavilion x360 convertible laptop has an Intel Core i5 processor and 8GB of RAM for effortless multitasking, and the backlit keyboard lets you type seamlessly in dimly lit environments.

Sep 03, 2021 17:36Love my new laptop. Especially like how it folds and turns into a tablet as well. Haven’t really used it much since I got it for when I start school in the Fall

Oct 16, 2020 16:05HP ENVY x360 Convertible 2-in-1 Laptop: Unleash your creativity with this 15.6-inch HP ENVY x360 convertible laptop. The AMD Ryzen 5 processor and 8GB of RAM deliver fast, responsive performance, while the 256GB SSD provides rapid boot times and data access. This HP ENVY x360 convertible laptop has an AMD Radeon graphics card that renders high-quality visuals on the Full HD screen, and the backlit keyboard lets you type seamlessly in dark environments.
I previously had a HP laptop that was crap. The mouse would jump across the screen randomly or lock, it wouldn’t turn on and took forever to load when it did turn on, it would freeze and it lagged when playing games on it. So, I hesitated buying this brand again but it was on sale and had features I wanted like touchscreen, right amount of RAM, graphics card, etc. I love this machine. It loads almost instantly, the graphics are on point, especially when playing The Sims 4 and other games, the sound quality is great with the Bang and Olufsen sound system, the tablet mode is awesome and easy to use for school and it has a fingerprint scanner for added security. The most important feature for me is the larger keys on the keyboard for ease of use with my fat fingers and long nails, plus the keyboard is backlit for use in dim light. So far, HP didn’t disappoint with this laptop and I would definitely recommend it.
Mar 20, 2020 18:32I bought this laptop to use for college and it has amazed me! Sleek and modern look with a backlit keyboard, number pad, touch screen, fingerprint reader, and you can even fold it! Big screen makes it fun to watch Netflix or photo/video editing if you choose to. You can open multiple tabs on it without slowing it down.
Dec 01, 2019 11:53This is only my second laptop ever . I always thought that they was slightly cheaper , portable wanna-be computers . I have had 3 Desktop towers in my life , But this laptop is more powerful then all of them . If i had to make a complaint it would be the fact it dont have a disk drive .
Looking forward to learning WINDOWS 10 and this new touchscreen options ! I Highly recoomend this laptop !
Jul 18, 2020 04:19I have had this laptop since October of 2019 and as of now, there are no issues! This laptop not only is really fast with the Ryzen processor, but it can also handle heavy games too. For 800 dollars, this laptop is amazing considering I had a budget for buying a laptop. It is perfect for business users and also can handle a little gaming as well. Even the look of the laptop is amazing so sleek and I love the black metal exterior it makes it look professional. Overall, one of the best laptops I have ever had for this price!
Mar 22, 2020 09:46I'm super happy I found this laptop. It's exactly what I needed at just the right price. I'm attending college & I wanted a touchscreen, with a backlit keyboard, and with a numerical 10 key on the keyboard too with at least 4GB of memory. Not only did it meet all of those wants, it also is a convertible, has a finger print biometric feature, an internal camera shutter, and has 8 GB of memory with the potential to increase the memory as well. Love it! It's exactly why I wanted and more.
Feb 05, 2021 15:49This laptop isn't a high end machine by any means; but for a general user or a standard office worker this will more than get the job done. Plus for it's price point it's quite a bit of tech for the money. So if you are looking for a good general purpose laptop at a great price I definitely recommend you pick this one up. Just don't expect high end performance like serious gaming or upgradability, this is always going to be what you purchased; which is still a pretty good machine.
Oct 12, 2020 04:00I’ve had the HP - ENVY x360 2 in 1 Laptop for 3-weeks and it has been everything as advertised and performed all the functions that my job and personal use required of it. I have no regrets about this purchase and hope it will continue to perform all the things that I have a need to perform on a-laptop. Thanks
Feb 13, 2021 13:31My daughter picked out this computer and has been impressed by its performance. The ENVY provides the all of the best features, with advanced styling and high reliability thus far. We had already decided to purchase this computer after much consideration, but an amazing sale price made it even better.
Aug 13, 2019 11:32HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 PC automatically adapts to your surroundings for the best onscreen image, adjusts performance settings based on your needs and provides useful privacy features with a click. The high definition display with 3:2 aspect ratio gives you more area to work with so you can scroll less.
As an owner of a 2016 Spectre x360, I thought it was time to upgrade. I purchased the 14 inch Tiger Lake Spectre x360-14 on November 13, 2020. I have been very pleased with the 2020 model thus far.
Size: I found my 2016 Spectre to be an ideal size and weight compared to any prior laptop I had owned. This model raises the bar. With a 14 inch diagonally measured screen, the 2020 model laptop is actually slightly smaller than the 2016 model. Bigger screen, smaller overall size. How did they do that? It’s all in reducing the size of the screen bezels, that wasted space around the borders of the screen, which are very slim in the 2020 Spectre. I really wanted more screen space, but would not consider a 15 inch screen because of the size and weight. I didn’t think it could get any better than my 2016 Spectre, but it does.
Battery life: This is the weak point of the 2020 Spectre x360-14 for some people. The OLED screen extracts a big penalty on battery life over an IPS screen. I got about 5.5 hours with the screen on the entire time, web browsing, etc. At 19% remaining, Battery Saver kicked in and reduced screen brightness. It seemed like the processor slowed also as it was not as responsive, but still quite useable. The Spectre lasted another 40 minutes until at 7% remaining, a popup said to turn off or connect the power supply which I did. So a little under six hours of use with the screen on. Unless I’m on an airplane, I generally use a laptop with the power supply attached, so I don’t see this as huge limitation for me.
Keyboard: The keyboard is much better than the 2016 model. Keys are not as slippery, much better marked (can’t really read the symbols on the silver keys on the 2016). The 2020 model has larger markings, larger keys and a better feel overall. Keyboard illumination from back lit LEDs is superb. On 2016 Spectre, there is one mode of illumination that provides some backlight but it is quite uneven on the keyboard and stays on all the time when activated. On the 2020 Spectre, illumination is even, with two levels of brightness, and after about 8 seconds, it turns off if no keys are touched.
Touchpad: The 2020 Spectre’s touchpad is a huge improvement over 2016. This was a weak point of the 2016 model for me. The earlier touchpad was just “inaccurate” in that the slightest touches would move the cursor when unintended. Sensitivity adjustments never worked. With the 2020 model, the touchpad works like it should. I was surprised to find it uses an Elan driver as some reviews indicated it used Microsoft Precision drivers which appear to be the best.
Screen: The best feature of this laptop is the 3:2 screen ratio. You quickly realize how much more enjoyable and less tiring using this screen layout is compared to a 16:9. The only thing a 16:9 screen is good for is watching movies. If you use a laptop for anything else, you will appreciate this change to the original laptop screen format. It simply takes less eye and head movement and scrolling to acquire the same information on a 3:2 screen than on a 16:9 screen if viewing text and images. This alone is a reason to buy this computer. I think we will see this become the standard laptop screen format very soon.
The OLED display is quite good. I can see an improvement in resolution between this 3K version and my 2016 FHD IPS screen. Whites are truly white, not gray as on the 2016 model. Text is clearer. I have not played with the auto adjustment features yet. It’s currently turned off. The screen brightness can be set so high you can read a book from the light it produces, whereas the 2016 display brightness was typically set at almost 100% to produce a useable image indoors. Color rendition appears to be quite good, though even with HP Display Control app set at “Native – No optimization applied” I thought the color saturation was a bit too high for natural looking color. Other modes on Display Control produce even higher color saturation. There are a lot of options for adjusting the screen color and brightness. It will take some time to find the right one(s) for me. I have not noticed any of the grid lines that some users report. Overall, another major improvement over the 2016 model.
Speed: What can I say, it’s faster than my four year old Spectre, which I found adequate for word processing, web browsing, etc. But the 2020 Tiger Lake model is clearly more responsive. What counts for me is how it performs on the tasks I use it for. I don’t play computers games, and would not expect this laptop (without a dedicated GPU) to be adequate for hardcore gamers, but for my use, it is more than adequate. Just FYI, Best Buy’s Specification for this laptop reports that it uses 3200 MHz memory. This is incorrect. The installed memory is actually two Micron Technology 8 Gig RAM modules of 4267 MHz memory.
Heat: Yes, the laptop gets warm on your lap, but never uncomfortably so. I would say it’s the same as the 2016 Spectre, but obviously with a much faster processor, better display and all the other improvements. I never heard any fan noise.
Sound: I found the sound quality good, not great. Bear in mind if you are listening to things like YouTube, audio quality of the original media varies considerably. There’s a lot of bad audio on the internet, and no speakers can improve something that was poorly recorded. But for content that was properly recorded, I found the sound quite good, and volume levels adequate.
Signon: Windows Hello facial recognition works flawlessly and instantly. It took about a minute to set it up. I was not offered the option to store a fingerprint, probably because I had setup the Hello and PIN options, but I’ll probably teach it my fingerprint just in case.
Power supply: The 2020 Spectre comes with a 65 watt HP USB C Power Delivery charger, but fortunately the laptop can use any USB C charger that produces at least that minimum power. The 2016 Spectre would give you a pop up if you connected anything other than HP’s charger telling you it recommended you use the factory charger. That was a total annoyance, even though it would still charge with non-HP chargers. No silly warnings on the 2020 model. This allows me to use a dual port Aukey charger that charges both my phone and the Spectre at the same time with a single charger.
WiFi: Not much to say here other than the WiFi gave equal or slightly better performance compared to other WiFi devices on my home network. I tend to use wired gigabit Ethernet (with an Ethernet to USB C adapter that I purchased – not included with the Spectre) for the best speeds, but on both 802.11 AC and AX access points, the WiFi speeds were very close to what I measured on wired ethernet tests. I noticed that the Spectre detected an AX access point and gave a pop up when connected to that device alerting me that it had established an AX (WiFi 6) connection.
Webcam: I have not tested this. Other reviewers are critical of the picture quality in the sense that the 2020 Spectre’s webcam is no better than that on webcams from a few years ago. That’s probably true. It’s just a 720p webcam. If you want a better webcam, buy a better webcam and plug it into a USB port.
Overall impression: The 2020 Spectre x360-14 is a superb laptop. I rarely used the tablet mode on my 2016 model, but I still have not found a better laptop for my needs. It’s fast, lightweight, has an excellent screen and keyboard, more storage than most people will ever use and simply meets all my needs. Yes, there are cheaper laptops, but my four year old 2016 Spectre is still working quite well, and I expect to get at least another four years from the 2020 model. The 3:2 ratio screen really is reason enough to justify an upgrade. You simply have to spend about an hour with this format to realize how much better this screen ratio is compared to the 16:9 screen format that has been the only choice for many years. Over the years, I have used laptops by Dell, Lenovo and HP (including some designed for business customers). Some of the business models might be slightly more robust in terms of construction, but none had the same combination of features and performance that the 2020 Spectre x360-14 offers. Highly recommended.
Price match warning: A week after I purchased the laptop, Best Buy’s website showed a significant price reduction over what I had just paid. My phone call to Best Buy’s 800 number resulted in a polite: we can’t price match this item. I was unable to get any explanation why since I was well within the return period and the lower price was from Best Buy itself. I went to the local BB store where I had purchased the laptop. The helpful employee said when he tried to process a price match, the computer said it was ineligible because it was part of a bundle. I explained that it was not a bundle, but Best Buy had offered a slight discount on a Logitech mouse and a Microsoft 365 subscription if purchased at the same time as the laptop. (This same offer applies to almost all BB laptops.) So the $35 or so I saved by buying the accessories at the same time I purchased the laptop had made me ineligible for a refund of a couple of hundred dollars because Best Buy considered this a bundle purchase. Best Buy needs to fix this. I was ready to return the computer on the last day of the return period and purchase another one when it went on sale, but a very helpful assistant manager in the store was able to work it out to complete the price match. Until Best Buy fixes this, I would forego any accessories purchased on the same order as the laptop.
Nov 20, 2020 23:20During this review, I will be referencing my previous review of the 2020 HP Spectre x360 15" a lot.
Take a look here:

HP Spectre x360 13.5" (2020) | 14-ea0023dx
Cost: $1,599.99 + Tax (Bestbuy)
Initial thoughts and background story:
I had this laptop in my sights about 1 month before it's official release date. As soon as the laptop appeared on Bestbuy's website, I set it to notify me as soon as it was available to purchase. The day it was available to purchase I was able to place an order. I chose delivery as it stated it would be delivered in 2 days. This turned out to not be the case and one week after the expected delivery date I called Bestbuy's customer support number and asked about the status update on my laptop order. The representative was extremely helpful and stated that the laptop was lost in traffic as it was never picked up by UPS and the computer in the warehouse just automatically printed the label and it was never scanned. I was given the option to either have it reshipped or have it fully refunded. I suggested a 3rd option of changing the order to an in-store pickup and the customer service rep was helpful throughout the whole process. The following day I got an email notification that my device was ready for pickup at my nearby Bestbuy. I was ecstatic and shocked at how quickly everything worked out. The moral of the story is: If possible, select in-store pickup.

Data Sheet: https://files.bbystatic.com/sI0LlBmMe2h%2F094HQvvVdA%3D%3D/Datasheet
Pros:
Another beautiful display. The resolution is 3000 x 2000 which is not exactly 4k but the difference is minimal. (This specific unit had no issues with OLED uniformity and colors were spot on. My previous HP Spectre x360 15" had a green tint on light gray backgrounds and it was very annoying. I'm glad this issue is not present on this laptop)
An even better typing experience. For some reason, the laptop feels like it has more key travel and the spacing of the keys feel precise. The alignment to the trackpad is centered and not left-sided as compared to the 15" model. The only thing I had to adjust for was the page function keys on the most right sides of the laptop (And I'm going to miss the numpad. That may or may not be something of importance to everyone but it was a welcome feature especially for using the calculator or entering your PIN quicker)
Build quality is top-notch. There is no flex on the bottom of the chassis and no keyboard wobble on a flat surface. (Unfortunately, the laptop does not openly perfectly with one hand. About half-way when opening the laptop, the bottom starts to lift up slightly. It is still do-able however)
Windows Hello still works exceptionally fast. The placement of the fingerprint reader is in the keyboard layout and I enjoy the greater size of the scanner as it makes me more likely to use the fingerprint scanner.
Speed: For some reason, this laptop feels consistently faster & snappier as compared to my previous 15" laptop. Even though there is no dedicated GPU, the integrated Iris XE graphics seem to be just what I need. Video playback is buttery smooth. There are no frame drops when playing 4k HDR 60 FPS videos on YouTube. I even managed to play 8k 60 FPS videos just fine as well with little to no frame drops.
Size: This is the goldilocks Spectre x360 in my opinion. The 15" seemed to be way too large to fully utilize all the features of the 360-degree functionality. Tablet mode was a no go. The 13" seemed to be way too small for productivity. But the 14" just happens to give that extra vertical screen real estate that is a game-changer. Scrolling on Reddit and writing code feels so nice on this laptop. Tablet mode feels useable and a feature I enjoy greatly
Weight: The weight of this laptop is light yet feels solid and well constructed. The 15" was a tad bit too heavy.
The network speeds are just as fast as the previous models. (Reaching speeds of 500 Mbps up & down while being a floor above my router)
Begone propriety AC adapter. No more blue tip chargers for this laptop. The laptop comes with a 65 W USB-C Charger and I'm able to use the chargers around the house whenever I need it. I use a 90W USB-C Charger to power this device) (Don't trust that HP Website mislabel, its a headphone jack)
The screen-to-body ratio is still 90% while being a 3:2 aspect ratio.
That ASPECT RATIO though. It really is nice. Scroll less. See more.
Adaptive color profiles. The system is able to automatically detect the surroundings to find the best color profile for your uses.
The included HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen was a nice add-on that many companies overlook.
Battery life has improved as compared to the 15" laptop in my case. I'm getting upwards of 9 hours on this laptop and I believe it's due to all the built in AI features that this laptop has. The Smart Sense profile in the command center automatically detects the best mode for specific use cases.
The Webcam privacy filter is COOOOL. The placement of the switch is on the keyboard and when you press this key, the camera becomes disabled and white stripes cover the webcam.
This laptop uses 2x 8GB Micron Technology 4267MHz. I get speeds around the 3800 MHz range and woah why is this an underlooked feature. On BestBuy's website, it states that there is only 3200 MHz RAM but that is not the case it seems.
Everything just feels snappy, smooth, safe, and beautiful.
THUNDERBOLT 4 USB-C
Cons:
Still a terrible webcam. yup :(. Just make sure you got great lighting.
The temperatures do lean towards the warm side but I must say that they are not as hot as previous models. I credit this to the Smart Sense profile switching that kicks in the fans every so often when heavy usage is detected. The temperature is not burning hot. It is more of a sauna temperature warm.
Speakers aren't the best of the best. They are a tiny bit quieter than the 15" model but it is still loud and the quality is on point.
Still a fingerprint magnet for the exterior.
Side Notes/Comments:
The laptop drivers on the website may not be up at the moment but that is the link that was provided from the software.
Still the classic bloatware in the system. I did not fully reinstall the operating system but instead just manually removed the applications that I did not want as I was setting up the device. (Such as Express VPN, McAfee, OneDrive Promos, Alexa)
Honestly, I don't see the "dot pattern" that was reported on previous models. Maybe it's there but it's too small for me to see
I believe they added AI noise reduction for the microphone so that is an improvement to be noted.
The in-bag detection is a nice idea and I have to fully test that out.
The Iris XE Graphics are about the same level as the Nvidia MX350. Just if anyone was wondering.
The laptop is 3 lbs or 1.36 kg
Y'all should check out HP Quickdrop. (A way to transfer files from your phone to the computer, quickly and seamlessly
Nov 11, 2020 20:25This is a great laptop! I was looking for a laptop that could easily move around the house with me. After viewing it's 15" sibling I found the 13" would be better to pick up and move around as I needed to.
It is fast! I'm not one who really cares about boot up and shut down time, but it's at the password screen in less than 5 seconds. Shut down is a little longer then 5 seconds, but you can just close the lid and let it finish doing it's business.
The touchscreen laptop is new to me and I thought I might not use it much. But I find myself scrolling shopping sites or news articles without worrying about where the pointer is in and accidently clicking an ad or something else on the page.
The TouchPad is really big which is nice when I do need to move around the screen. It's also really sensitive to my touch and doesn't have a jitter if I am holding the pointer in one spot.
The laptop is beautiful. The color, texture, and sheen make it feel nice to the touch. The texture of the outside lets me hold it securely when I'm moving around the house without having to grip it hard and feel like I'm crushing it.
Camera and mic are good. Nothing amazing. Clear video and sound. You can turn both mic and camera off quickly with a button on the keyboard, which comes in handy when the dog barks.
The back-lit keyboard is a cool feature. There is only one color setting and intensity is full brightness, half brightness, and off.
The 15" did have more ports, but I purchased a USB C docking station that gave me the additional USB ports and display ports when I needed to extend the desktop to multiple screens.
It doesn't get hot on my lap. I played a video intense game and the fan kicked on about every 10 mins. I never felt like I needed a lap tray because it was burning my skin.
The sound is pretty good considering the size of the speakers.
I haven't used the
I would recommend this laptop to anyone. It can be pricey because it's a Gen 11 processor, but I still say go for it.
Dec 04, 2020 19:04Out with the old
It was time to replace my wife's beloved HP Spectre which was showing it's age. It overheated so often she often had to slip it into the fridge to cool it down every hour or two. The wifi was also dropping out and it was slow. New battery and even a bigger SSD did not help significantly.
In with the new!
This new version is actually lighter and smaller thanks to the screen aspect ratio being more square. The new old-school aspect ratio provides a lot more screen real estate. The OLED display is beautiful. As always with a new Windows PC, the zip is back - this thing is fast and snappy. The 16GB or memory helps with many open tabs on Google's memory-hog Chrome browser (it's going the direction of Internet Explorer - bloated and slow). The AC adapter is small and sleek and uses a USB-C connector.
A couple minor downsides
Probably a mistake by HP was to make the AC charger in a glossy soft plastic as it scratches very easily. It is usually dangling or dragging on a floor so it should be more durable.
Fuzzy Camera
The selfie camera, which is essential for zoom meetings on a daily basis, is pretty blurry and feels low resolution. I'm not sure why HP skimped on the camera in today's environment.
Overall
Feels and looks like a top shelf, premium device and it is. OLED screen is beautiful, the aspect ratio is perfect, build quality is solid and it is fast too. For my wife, the writer/author, this is the perfect computer because it slips right into her big purse.
Oct 15, 2021 15:55Purchased the HP Spectre 360 2in1 13.5 inch in Nightfall Black. The wrapping definitely matches the price point, giving a feeling of receiving a high-end product throughout the unboxing process. And the computer is a beauty. Inside the box is the laptop itself, a patent leather laptop sleeve and a stylus pen.
The laptop speed is super fast while executing tasks such as streaming Netflix, YouTube etc., using Microsoft Office products, using a variety of other applications, checking email and running multiple tasks at the same time (i.e. multiple windows open and streaming simultaneously). The high definition screen provides a crisp image that is easy to look at and makes viewing pleasurable and the 3:2 aspect ratio makes you forget you have a smaller device. I didn't want to carry around a heavy 15 inch laptop and with this screen you don't feel like you've compromised screen size at all. I love the fingerprint reader, between having to remember so many passwords and constant threat of cyber security compromise it adds a little bit of comfort.
The battery life is decent for a laptop but nowhere near 10 hours for example I was taking an online proctored exam where there was only one application running and the microphone and webcam and the battery nearly died 3.5 hours into the exam.
Overall I am pleased with my purchase and have even purchased an additional for a family member that was in need of replacement PC. Given the expensive price and cons listed below I still made the investment. And although I would purchase again I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 for the cons listed in this review (would've given it a 4.5 if that were an option).
Pros: Beautiful, fast, extra accessories, screen display (both quality of image and end to end display), amount of SSD storage, compact size and finger print reader.
Cons: Expensive, low quality webcam, the nightfall black body/display screen show fingerprints and shorter battery life than expected.
Oct 08, 2021 16:58The Spectre x360’s meticulous craftsmanship, classy aesthetic, and 3:2 screen put it over the top. It also edges out the XPS in a few key areas: the keyboard is more comfortable, the battery life is better, and Dell’s closest-priced configuration to this unit only has half its storage. The Spectre’s smaller amenities that the XPS lacks — like the bundled stylus, the USB-A port, the blue color, and the OLED option — are icing on the cake.
If you’re looking for a premium Windows convertible with a classy aesthetic, that makes the Spectre a no-brainer purchase. This is HP at its best; it’s a luxury laptop in pretty much every area. I can’t imagine that it won’t be the next laptop I buy
Jun 25, 2021 06:19i am disappointed that although this was the i7 with 16gb ram and yet still wasnot as reliable as it should be, i previously owned i5 with 8gb ram and did not see any difference honestly.
Nov 01, 2021 02:24I have got this in an amazing deal ($1299/-) during the holiday season. So, keep watching the price , it may come down again near Christmas.
Anyways, I bought this HP 2in1 laptop last month and have been using it since then. I spend an average of 4-5 hours on this laptop (other than my work laptop) to watch videos, audio , web browsing, studying and coding. I must say, I am really impressed with the quality and performance of this laptop.
Screen-- It is having a very unconventional screen ratio 3:2 which is getting popular nowadays. It shows more content on the screen which is perfect for me while reading/writing documents, browsing and coding. While watching any youtube or video content, it shows black bar as most of the videos are not in 3:2 aspect ratio but that's okay with me. BTW, I forgot to mention, it is a 3k oled panel with amazing colors accuracy. This laptop is definitely one of the best in the market.
Performance-- This laptop powered with tiger lake 11th gen intel evo platform. Great performance for my use. I don't play games on my laptop but I have heard it can handle a decent amount of gaming. 11th Gen is way better in graphic performance than 10th Gen. So, I would suggest going with only 11th gen.
Sound-- Great sounding speaker. Very crisp and clear and doesn't distort at high volume. I wish the max volume could be a little louder.
Keyboard-- One of the best in class keyboards, especially in 2in1 laptops. It is Chiclet style keyboard with good key travel (1mm approx). Love typing on it!
Battery-- I would say battery is just okay. On my regular use I get around 5-6 hours max. Battery could have been a little better.
Overall I really like this laptop and would recommend this product. Good Job HP!!

We thought about returning it, but after further thought, decided this will provide the perfect tool for starting a business on a budget.
Our business has a growing on-line presence. We are currently managing our online activities primarily on cell phones. This is not practical or efficient so we looked to this Chromebook as a perfect combination of the power of cellphone apps in a larger than tablet form with the controls of a laptop to provide an answer. Look forward to finding out how well the Chromebook answers this call.
Negatives: Would be nice to have 1 year of office 365 included.
Aug 16, 2021 22:48To complete school work this is a great chromebook and the touchscreen option is exceptionally great for our Kindergartener & 4th grader since their typing skills are not the best yet. I’m used to a MacBook so the screen color I very different but kids love it.
Nov 02, 2021 04:31Best Buy HAS QUALITY PRODUCTS IVE BOUGHT OFF THEM FOR YEARS THEY HAVE GOOD RETURN POLICY AN NAME BRAND QUALITY PRODUCTS WILL KEEP BUYING FROM THEM FOR YEARS TO COME.KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
Oct 19, 2021 16:58This chromebook is very handy. It may not have a lot of memory but it definitely does the job. It can actually turn into a tablet when you rotate the keyboard 360 and it's touchscreen.
Nov 03, 2021 19:22Our granddaughter was very excited to get her own computer. She was very excited to access her school account right from home. Our hope is that it helps her with her school work. Time will tell.
Nov 05, 2021 18:00I ended up with chrome not windows unable to get technical help thru geek squad say they’ll call back never do wait time more than three hours. Not happy just trying to get security downloaded!
Oct 22, 2021 17:50This Chromebook is a bit bigger than my other one, but much clearer to work with. Not used to the touch screen yet. I don't use this for other than email and google but like it so far
Nov 06, 2021 06:54We purchased this for my mother, who is of a certain vintage, to replace her tablet. Now that she has gotten used to it, she loves it/ It's a touch screen and can fold over to use in a tablet form.

The I-5-11400h is a great processor, and built in support for undervolting now in Omen command center sets HP above most other OEMS for intel anyways.
The battery life in this guy is amazing best off any gaming laptop
I've tested ~6hours streaming youtube on battery saver.
The speakers are good for a budget option
The RTX 3050 is good to be good for running most games at high settings in 1080p, but in the most demanding games your going to be limited by only having 4gb of videocard ram and have to use lower settings. Especially if the game doesn't have DLSS.
If you stress over thermals this guy runs exceedingly cool.
The 2 biggest draw backs are the RAM and the screen is only 60hz if thats important to you. The ram is only 8gb, and its dual channel which is good. Normally that would be borderline acceptable for gaming but its the slower 1x16 ram. As a result in more CPU bound games like BF5 or CSGO your going to have some pretty horrendous FPS drops (1% lows). So if you buy it I would make plans to upgrade the ram ASAP.
The 16.1 inch screen is nice, but I really wish HP would switch to 16x10 resolution on there 16 inch line up.
The blue color is nice, and its overall a good looking laptop IMO but build quality definetly leaves a lot to be desired. Can't say if it will have problems long term but the screen does wobble significantly if you don't open it extremely carefully.
Personally If your really on a tight budget I would look for something on clearance from last year, or save up to 1000 - 1200$ to get something with a RTX 3060.
Aug 19, 2021 12:30- Decent build quality (expected at this price)
- Amazing specs for the price
- Easily upgradable (2 ram slots, 2 nvme slots)
- 1080p 60 hz (fine for me, but not other people)
- Purchased on sale for $799 (Still pretty good at 899)
Aug 04, 2021 12:58This is my first real laptop built for gaming, so far it’s meeting and exceeded my expectations for it in some places. The battery life while gaming suffers however, the battery during normal none gaming use does just fine. This also could be because I have the computer leaning towards performance instead of the battery life on the option slider.(during games the battery lasts about 1 to 2 hours depending. I'll try messing with some settings to see if I can't get those numbers up but I would expect much.)
Sep 05, 2021 12:03Great system, loaded it with 32gb ram and its even a better system than before. Bought this laptop for my younger son for his bday and he loves it, Omen feature is pretty helpful when running high load games. Less expensive than actual gaming laptops but have all the requirements of a gaming system.
Oct 23, 2021 02:24I run all of my games on high. Death stranding on high with the charger plugged in because it drains it fast and also gives it a power boost using best performance mode. Any game I play i play on the highest difficulty. My only problem is after mandatory files the PC only has about 140gb left. so you can only play a few games at a time. The PC is fast, slim and light and the keyboard lights up
Oct 08, 2021 13:47Performance was much better then the 10300H, however seems like the 4GB of the 3050 is limiting. Display was a bit bland, but it seems unless you go up $400 all of them have these dim displays. I did like the subdued design vs some of the over the top versions with RGB everywhere.
Oct 11, 2021 16:46I love this computer its battery can last a long time but the one downfall of this computer is that there is no prop to put up the computer to let the fans circulate air. But all in all i love this computer and i would recommend it
Sep 24, 2021 17:48Great gaming laptop although I am not a gamer. Good graphics as well. Only issue I have had is the battery life is short. If you want it plugged in the wall while you do your work then that's your business but unplug it and you may get a few hours of use. Not too big of a

Although my preference was a Chromebook Laptop, this particular model's features, specs, and price ticked all the boxes for my personal needs. At this early stage, the only issues that I have are the finger print sensor is not stable. I've had to retake prints and more times than not, out doesn't recognize registered prints. The battery life could be better too for my light use. Lastly, the display not so good outdoors on a sunny day
Other than that it's got a good feel, nice backlit keyboard and it's size and weight suit my needs.
Oct 02, 2021 13:58I don't really know much about computers but I was looking for a computer I could use for web browsing and doing a bit of web based work, as well as playing some games that wouldn't run out of hard drive space too fast and would last a while. I've only had this computer for a few weeks now but so far it seems great for what I need. I have downloaded and played The Sims 4 on it without any issues. Overall very happy with the computer so far.
Sep 21, 2021 23:04I really enjoyed the computer for 3 weeks but unexpectedly the camera stopped working. I might have been able to overcome this issue, but it also put a large image of a camera on the computer screen to indicate that the camera was not functional. Essentially, making it virtually impossible to use the screen as well. Resetting the computer did not work...nor did hours online with Windows help and HP support tools.
Best buy was unwilling to help because it was beyond the 14 day window of returns (we were at 21 days). So clearly, be cautious purchasing a computer from Best Buy. I have submitted the computer to HP for repair and hope that they can fix it.
I liked the touchscreen, the backlit keyboard, and the mousepad on this computer. It also is light weight and comfortable to use... while it works.
Nov 07, 2021 22:48This computer is exactly as advertised; small and light. It works great however, the components are not high quality and the screen is already popping away from the back and the rubber on the bottom fell off. Not meant for high use and travel.
Nov 06, 2021 07:49Great little workhorse. I have purchased several HP Pavilions and have been very happy with their performance. Almost everyone on staff has one now! Everyone is happy with them and they look great. Our only issue is figuring out which one belongs to whom...LOL
Nov 17, 2021 16:35Thus far a great laptop. Nice touchscreen, boots up quickly, fingerprint login works great. So far, so good. Had it for a few weeks now.
Oct 19, 2021 15:53This is by far one of my favorite laptops. Very durable the screen is amazing, perfect size. The battery life is not that good. The speed is not that great
Nov 23, 2021 02:04Good laptop if you can get it on sale. Amazing screen and small bezels. I would recommend this laptop to anyone who need something to do daily only tasks, school work or anything light.
Sep 20, 2021 21:08Post, play, and stay productive for up to 13 hours and 15 minutes with the power of a Windows PC. HP Stream lets you do it all in a design that’s affordable, portable, and incredibly stylish.
This is a great laptop just what I was looking for didn’t need anything expensive for my needs I am a senior and this works great for me also has good battery time I recommend anyone to buy you will not regret it
Mar 22, 2021 23:10Its great! Have'nt had any problems yet! Perfect for everyday use!
Jan 30, 2021 06:47Great laptop I love it.. I'm glad I made the choice to go to Best Buy... very friendly as well
Apr 30, 2021 16:40It is smaller than I thought, But it is so cute . Love the Diamond color , And it was easy to hook up . Love it
Apr 30, 2021 18:40I’m really happy with my products.I will be purchasing more products in the future. Thanks
Apr 30, 2021 20:09Its not a dell but its a darn good bargin. It gets the job done and even plays games like a champ.
Aug 28, 2021 09:15Does exactly what I need.. easy to use and lightweight.
Dec 17, 2020 06:43Keeps freezing up...like glitches but other than that it is ok.. I wouldn't recommend to a friend.
Aug 28, 2020 17:16Designed to keep you productive and entertained from anywhere, the HP 14-inch diagonal laptop combines long lasting battery life with a thin and portable, microedge bezel design.
I love the color. The laptop functions pretty well but sometimes the keyboard has a glitch in random things pop up and disappear. But over all I’m satisfied. I bought it to have a smaller laptop to pay the sims on. It works great for the sims 4.
Mar 15, 2021 15:23Better than I expected....my kids want one over their 1,000.00 gaming laptop cause its light and slick with gaming capability....
I get compliments all the time and they think its touch screen but its not... and I'm ok with that!!!
If I wanted a tablet I'd get one with a keyboard. This laptop covers it all.....its amazing +!!!
Dec 12, 2020 04:43This is a sturdy, durable laptop that gets the job done. Has an extremely long battery life. Screen holds itself in place so I may chase after my new house pet while still being able to do business at home during the pandemic.
Oct 15, 2021 18:20It was really good laptop for me I'm using this without any errors. I would like to recommend for a friend who looking for budget laptop with good quality
Jan 01, 2021 16:18Just bought this laptop a few weeks ago. It has been very reliable, it performs all the tasks that I need it for connects to WiFi very easily, I am very happy with this product, and buying it from Best Buy was very easy and hassle free
Aug 20, 2021 16:02It was a very good experience shopping my laptop at Best Buy, there is always very good deals .
Customer service was very helpful and there is a lot of gifts for the coming holidays, prices are very competitively.
Very happy with my rewards and Best Buy is definitely my best option when buy electronics and gifts.
Nov 05, 2021 19:03The laptop is good for basic work like online classes and surfing. The finish is nice and looks premium. Initial setup to come out of window 10 s mode is easy but essential to install third party softwares. Office 365 asks one to make a Microsoft or hotmail account which is a pain. It should have been like a standard sotwaee in the pc. The memory kn the laptop is very least almost like a phone but these days one doesn't need to save more data with more work in the cloud , google Drive etc. Just another sd card of 64 or 128 gb in the cars slot and you are good to go.
Overall a good purchase and value for money.
Dec 18, 2020 20:25Overall you get what you pay for. The laptop itself is a quality hp product, had to download intel driver support to update some drivers. Once I did the laptop runs smooth. No frames skipping
Sep 19, 2021 17:20See more and do more with the 4K OLED, near-borderless display on the ultra-compact Spectre x360. Long battery life lets you power through work and play while innovative privacy features give greater peace of mind wherever you are.
So far I love this 2in1. For the most part does everything I need it to do. touch screen doesn't interact perfectly with a program I like to do for design/editing for shirts/decals/stickers but works great with the mouse and keyboard. only had this about 5 days so far
PROS:
Has an awesome OLED display this thing is super slick/thin/light. Love the 2 tone look! Looks and feels like a top of the line machine. Nice slick looking Super speed USB Type A port. 2 charging ports Thunderbolt 4 with USB4 Type-C. SD card Reader. The hinges look and feel solid an no flop/shaky screen. Comes with a pen...does feel pretty cheap compared to a Microsoft surface pen!! also comes with a 65W charger w/braided cord and carrying sleeve.
CONS:
The fan can be pretty loud/annoying while the system is trying to cool and it does seem to run a little warm. 720p cam. For the price wish it was 16GB and/or i7. the battery is...ok for me...? good for personal use, wont last more than maybe 5 or 6hrs before it needs plugged in. Wouldn't recommend for business use or long travel use without charging capability.
Overall there seems to be a lot of cons but I really do love the look, feel, and functionally for what I need this Laptop to do. Only way ill take it back is if the heat or fan scare me a lil to much to keep it or if another more powerful machine goes on sale.
Apr 13, 2021 03:29This is a laptop you have to see in person to do it justice. HP Has knocked it out of the park. From the 2 tone metal designed and 4k screen this will blow you away & is so light weight and just an amazing device to use.
For ports has 2 latest GEN thunderbolt 4 ports, USB A 3.1, headphone jack & micro SD card reader. This is Intel EVO Laptop too (google it) Comes with leather case and pen. Also have privacy switch to kill webcam. Keyboard and track pad is great as well.
I tried many ultrabooks which I returned & moved to this HP Spectre for HP's know quality. Dell I bought with 4k screen had trackpad issues, Yogo 940 w/ 4k screen had screen issues so after that I went to what I know.
FYI Even though this is Core i5, it will outperform the 10th Gen Core i7 but for me the only 2 downsides on this laptop is no 11th gen i7 offered which i'm ok with & no dedicated memory but pretty much ever ultrabook in this class will not have dedicated memory.
My real reason for buying this was playing Cyberpunk 2077 on Google Stadia in 4k & it works great.
Again amazing laptop & I would highly recommend to ANYONE if they want to buy the best out. Go to best buy & pick 1 up you will not be disappointed.
Dec 11, 2020 16:27As a preface, this review comes after owning an earlier i7 model (late 2019 or early 2020, I believe) and a more recent 15.6" version of the Spectre series, the new Macbook Pro M1, and a Samsung Galaxy Book Flex.
The earlier Spectre 13.3" had a weird yellowish display and horrendous battery life. It was very zippy, but as a photo editor, I need the best color accuracy possible. The 15.6" was great but too bulky and not NEARLY bright enough, even on full brightness. I'm not sure of the exact figure but I'm guessing around 250-300 nits.
The Macbook Pro had a marginally better display in terms of color accuracy (though not as bright), but the keyboard was mushy and annoying to use. It had big ugly bezels, no touchscreen, and only 2 USB ports, meaning if you have to charge the computer, you only have ONE USB port available.
This model has taken the best of the Spectre series and made it exponentially better. The i5 processor (11th gen EVO) does indeed make a noticeable improvement in speed and battery life. The display is very color accurate, and INCREDIBLY bright. I usually have the brightness turned down to about 50% and it's plenty, but I love being able to crank it up without worrying about the glare from my windows.
The webcam/microphone kill switches definitely bring an added sense of privacy.
The keyboard is one of my favorite things about this device. It's an absolute joy to use. I tried a typing test on each of the devices I owned, and this was the clear winner. The trackpad is on the smaller side but still perfectly useable.
The fingerprint sensor is very accurate, I'd say it works about 95% of the time.
The charger that comes with it has a braided USB-C cable, and it's very compact. It also comes with a very "premium" feeling leather sleeve and pen.
To sum things up, I really couldn't ask for much more. I'm extremely pleased. I've been "laptop browsing" for 2-3 months and I'm so happy to finally feel satisfied with my purchase.
Jan 29, 2021 12:47Fantastic machine. I tried Samsung Flex2 Alpha (great screen, super bright capability, but awful keyboard, weirdly shaped screen and not smooth running), Dell 7000 13.3 inch (two models out of box had problems with phantom mouse movements and window openings) and Lenovo Yoga 6 13.3 inch (cheap and cheap looking, screen dim and blurry, but speed great). Hands down, this one is best.
Only one negative to this machine. Battery life is weaker than others in its size range. But considering this is a 4K screen and all of the others are just 1080HD, this is why.
Now that that's out of the way, this machine is sweet. First, it comes with everything in the box. Laptop, lightweight fast charger, HP smart pen AND a beautiful leather carry case that protects it from drops.
The screen is gorgeous. Not oversaturated, but gets very bright if you need it to. Is true 4k. Reading documents and website text is so easy with this screen. Beautiful color rendering and smoothness. Videos of course look great.
The keyboard feels full size and has great depth of push to the keys. Very easy and comfortable to type on. Unlike others, the shift keys too are full size and nothing is placed in the wrong spot where you accidentally hit a key you didn't intend.
It is relatively quiet. Unless you really, really push it. I generally run on balanced battery mode and have no problems. Even when the fan is on, it is nowhere near as loud as the Samsung or Dell are.
Physically, it looks a step above the others. Beautiful fingerprint resistent black/brown matte accented with bronze metal all around it. The hinges even are very upscale looking.
In terms of speed and performance, I've had no problems. Yes, the ram is only 8GB. But Windows seems optimized for it. Of the other ones I tried, only the Lenovo felt faster, probably due to it having the AMD Ryzen 5 instead of the Intel Evo I5. But the difference is slight and doesn't get in the way of my needs.
I have never been an HP fan. But this machine has made me a fan.
Highly recommended. You get what you pay for.
May 21, 2021 16:16display is awesome, light weight, battery life too short. Intel evo is awesome super fast. built-in Alexa wasn't in the unit, you need to install the app from the store.
Apr 12, 2021 22:56Probably the most attractive laptop in existence. The screen just pops out. I opted for this one over a better-spec’d Dell because the 4k OLED was just too good. It made all others on the laptop demo area just look lackluster.
Yes, I’d much rather get a better performing laptop, but I already have a super powerful desktop for all my other needs. This will just be something to remote into my home PC and netflix while traveling. Due to this, the OLED wins out. You just have to see this laptop in person.
It’s insanely light, the keys are quite nice to type on, and has two USB-C ports.
It’s just convenient, and powerful enough for my needs.
Jan 15, 2021 15:39Laptop overall looks good and the display is solid. Was looking for a small portable device and it checked all my boxes. Only criticism so far is the better display does not come with the fastest hardware configuration. So far seems plenty fast as is but would have liked that option.
Nov 01, 2021 08:05There is a lot to be desired here. Especially with how much this computer cost. The camera is crap. In order to look half decent you have to be under full lighting. If you're not You're fuzzy and grainy. The speakers are terrible. They put them under the laptop so you could have almost a full size keyboard. Bad idea. At 100% volume you couldn't hear it with any other type of sound going on. So everything must be completely silent for you to hear at 100% volume. I had to buy a separate speaker to remedy this issue. The battery life is terrible, it is all sucked up by the 4K OLED, crazy amazing screen. Which is the whole reason why this computer is so expensive. I fell in love with the size and the color. At 13.3 inches or 13 (i can't remember) it's a cute tiny thing. It came with a stylus and carrying case. The stylus is supposed to magnetically attach to the computer's side but it attaches to the bottom of the computer which doesn't work if i use it on a desk...but i use it mainly on my lap so I'm not too broken up about it. The color is just stunning. I love the black and rose gold, definitely a good choice of color. So in conclusion, if i had a second chance i probably would've gone another route with buying a computer. The only selling point for this one is the 4K OLED, amazing, screen. So if you need a totally awesome screen this is the laptop for you. Just don't expect anything else.
Jun 26, 2021 09:16HP Spectre x360 Convertible 2-in-1 Laptop: Work, game and stay entertained with this HP Spectre x360 convertible laptop. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti graphics card produces stunning visuals on the 15.6-inch 4K touchscreen, while the Intel Core i7 processor and 16GB of RAM deliver smooth performance. This Wi-Fi and Bluetooth-enabled HP Spectre x360 convertible laptop has a 1TB SSD and 32GB of Intel Optane memory, offering ample storage space and rapid boots.
I had what I believe was a first generation Spectre, which I loved. But time took it’s toll and the screen went out on it sometimes for hours and my Geek Squad protection plan expired, so it was time for a new laptop.
Off to Best Buy I went for a new laptop. While my first Spectre was 512GB, I wanted 1TB, and the Spectre x360 1TB was more than I wanted to spend. The Salesperson at Best Buy recommended a Dell Inspiron 7000. It sounded nice. It had good specs. It’s a Dell and they make good laptops, right? After several days, it became plainly obvious it wasn’t even close to a Spectre. Even with a 4K screen and an 11th Gen Intel i7 processor, the Dell was simply disappointing.
So I returned the Dell and spent the extra money on the Spectre x360 with 1TB of SSD storage, 10th Gen i7 Processor and GE Force Graphics. The Processor is Six Core, the kind of powerful processor you’ll find in desktop systems. To say I’m so much happier with the Spectre is an understatement.
The Dell screen, while 4K didn’t have the incredibly stunning clarity or brightness you get on a Spectre 4K Ultra AMOLED screen. This new generation AMOLED screen has a better anti-reflective coating than my first Spectre. The Spectre has 400+ Nits of brightness, whereas the Dell has a maximum of 270 Nits. Trust me when I say the difference is night and day. The screen on the Spectre which I understand is from Corning Glass, is in another universe altogether. And no matter what I tried, the Dell renders whites with a decidedly yellow tint. White on the Spectre is a perfect bright white. Go out to YouTube and pull up any 4K Ultra Video and be prepared to be simply blown away.
The Dell while being an Intel 11th Gen i7 processor with 1TB of SSD memory, took three full days to download my rather large Carbonite backup. In contrast, the Spectre with a 10th Gen i7 processor downloaded the same amount of data in less than 24 hours.
The Dell’s typing experience was in a word disappointing. The key travel wasn’t great and the typing feel was spongy. There was also a significant typing lag. I’m a touch typist. It’s very disconcerting to type letters and not see them appear on the screen in real-time. The typing feel on the Spectre may well be the best typing experience I’ve ever enjoyed. And I thought the typing experience on my first Spectre was good. This is even better.
My very modern and programmable Logitech MX Master mouse didn’t work smoothly on the Dell. I’d slide the mouse and it would get stuck and it was jittery. On the Spectre Its smooth and works perfectly.
I didn’t try any games on the Dell. I’m actually not a gamer, but I have run some games and the Spectre did fine keeping up. It has a 60hz refresh rate, which isn’t earth shaking for gaming, but the Spectre isn’t considered a Gaming Laptop to begin with. If you’re an occasional gamer and you don’t play intensive games, the Spectre will do just fine.
The GeForce GTX 1650 Ti graphics card with a dedicated GPU is a much better graphics card than the Intel Iris Xe MAX in the Dell. Videos on the Dell, often lagged. Video, especially 4K video play so much smoother on the Spectre. The GPU with it’s own memory delivers more powerful video processing power.
With all these accolades, is there anything about the Dell, I liked better than the Spectre. Yes, there are two things the Dell does the Spectre doesn’t. While they both come with Electronic Stylus, the Dell has a cradle with a charging port for the Stylus built into the keyboard. This provides a permanent home for the stylus and keeps it charged and ready for use. The Spectre stylus requires you plug into a USB C charger to charge it and there is simply no place to store the Stylus on the Spectre, increasing the chance of losing it.
And Dell has this really useful app called Dell Mobile Connect. It pairs either Android or Apple phones to your laptop via Bluetooth and lets you text and get notifications from your phone directly on the laptop. This is an incredibly useful feature. It was terrific getting a text message from my iPhone and being able to respond directly on the laptop. HP has something for Samsung phones, but nothing for iPhone. Does HP not realize iOS users might appreciate a higher end laptop like the Spectre? NOTE TO HP: iPhone users are more than likely a demographic you shouldn’t ignore. And if Dell can offer such an app for Dell laptops which can offer seamless integration for Android or iOS, HP should be able to as well.
Those two things aside, I’m incredibly happy with my new Spectre x360 1TB laptop. It’s beautiful. Beyond beautiful. There’s really no other laptop finished as stunningly. It’s solid and luxurious with an all-aluminum body. The stunning 4k Ultra AMOLED screen is beyond amazing. It's powerful and fast and everything about the laptop performs beyond my expectations. Hopefully, HP will address the lack of iOS integration, but even if they don’t, I’m sure I’ll be very happy with my new Spectre for a long time.
Jan 12, 2021 19:03Hp Spectre x360 15.6" (2020) | 15-eb0053dx
Cost: $1,799.99 + Tax (Bestbuy)
Specifications:
-10th generation i7 10750H (6-core processor)
-Nvidia GTX 1650 Ti
-1TB SSD + 32GB Optane
Laptop Drivers: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-spectre-15-eb0000-x360-convertible-laptop-pc-series/32516320/model/34370376?sku=9GB30UA
Pros:
-Beautiful Display (4k AMOLED, Great Color Accuracy and Contrast)
-Great Keyboard (Off-center to the left, love the Numpad, good key travel, good spacing)
-Windows Hello and Fingerprint works great. It is fast and reliable
-Quick to boot up and load windows
-Great for media consumption because of the 360-degree mechanism and 16:9 aspect ratio
-Wifi 6 performs well. No hiccups with the network. (I have FiOS gigabit connection and achieve around 500 down and 550 up)
-Charges up quickly with the inbox 135W Charger
-Borderless display. The bezels significantly reduced compared to the 2019 model. 90% screen to body ratio. (This is what pushed me to get the laptop)
-Performs well. Everyday tasks are a breeze and editing apps such as Photoshop CC 2020 work well.
Cons:
-Terrible and I mean terrible Webcam quality (Grainy and terrible color)
-Can get extremely hot
-4k60fps Youtube videos stutter and drop frames at times. (It seems like an issue only associated with Youtube because 4k videos work perfectly in other sites and directly from video files. Disabling hardware acceleration did help the performance but it does lag occasionally)
-Battery Life is below average (But it is a 4k OLED panel so that’s reasonable)
-The exterior is a fingerprint magnet.
-Only one Thunderbolt 3 USB-c port.
Comments:
-In the beginning, the laptop always became hot in as little as 5 mins only doing basic tasks such as watching Netflix or using a web browser.
-My Fix: Right-click battery icon in the tray. Go to “Power Options”. Then “Change plan settings”. Click “Change advanced power settings” Under “Processor Power Management” change Maximum processor state from 100% to 99% for both “On battery” and “Plugged in”
-If “Processor Power Management” is not shown in the advanced power settings. Goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power and change CsEnabled to “0”
-This fix reduced laptop thermals and lowered fan noise.
-The laptop drivers on the official hp website helped increase the performance and stability of the machine in my case.
-It comes with quite a bit of bloatware. Immediately removed all of it as soon as I set up the laptop.
-The Speaker system is not the worst but it's not the best either.
-The display’s default refresh rate was set to “59 Hz”
-My Fix: Search “Display Settings” | Scroll down and click “Advanced display settings” | Click “Display adapter properties for Display 1” | Click the Monitor tab | Change the screen refresh rate to 60 Hz
-The laptop sleeve is a very nice add on but the pen sleeve is a little bit tight and it can be difficult to get the pen out. The laptop is very snug inside the sleeve and requires two hands to get the laptop out.
-Disabling the keyboard backlit light helped increase battery life slightly.
-For my laptop, opening it, one-handed is inconsistent. (I expected it to be an easy open considering all the reviews on youtube.)
-The rechargeable pen is a welcome addition. (2-in-1 Laptops should always include a pen in my opinion)
-The HP Command Center is wonderful. The dedicated button on the keyboard makes it easy to switch thermal profiles. Comfort mode quickly cools down the laptop when it starts getting hot.
-The “dot pattern” is visible on the screen but only if you put your face right up on the screen and look at a white portion of the screen.
-The laptop feels premium and has a good hefty weight. (Attention getter)
Jun 03, 2020 11:47When you first launch your computer you'll see a ton of garbage apps... that will/may overheat your notebook (as per other reviews). Reformat the computer before using it to clear all the garbage bloatware on the computer and start fresh.
Now... for the performance review...
-Really fast, runs cool (if your not playing games)
-Launches applications "fast"
-Can play Overwatch at High settings (60 fps)
-Sound quality on speakers are great!
-Camera is alright (not the best). I have the notebook paired with a Logitech brio for conference calls
Aug 22, 2020 18:53Excellent laptop for users who are not planning to touch it. Because it runs HOT. 15 mins of scrolling internet got me 35C (95F) temperature (screenshot attached). After 10 mins of running MS Flight simulator I've got 60C (140F). And MS Flight Simulator doesn't even run that fast - I don't think this laptop is meant for games at all. Using "comfort" thermal profile in HP Command Center may cool down temperatures but: CPU performance will be decreased, and noise from the fan is too loud to be on call (people complained that is sounds like I'm driving a car on a highway with all open windows). Keyboard feels a bit awkward as it's shifted from the center to fit numeric key pad, but I've got used to it. Touchpad feels tiny and awkward as well - I think it's too small for 4K screen. Other than that - beautiful AMOLED 4k screen, great sound, seems well made. Too hot to be used as a laptop/tablet.
Sep 01, 2021 16:52I've had this laptop for about 3 months, and I give it a solid 4 stars. Here's why:
Pros:
— The Screen. The 4K OLED touch screen is magnificent with incredible detail, great responsiveness, and very vivid colors and deep blacks. It truly was amazing to look at and use for the first time. It also seems to have a short response time for gaming even though I couldn't find a number value for it online.
— The Potential for Productivity. This laptop is a joy to type on as the keyboard feels great and feels very tactile (has backlight as well), the trackpad is quite wide (though isn't as tall as I'd like, but using a mouse instantly fixes this issue), the laptop hinge is great even by 2-in-1 standards, and the included pen works well on the touch screen with great responsiveness and (pen) battery life. My main gripe is the 16:9 screen aspect ratio.
— Overall Design of the Laptop. The gem-cut design makes it look one-of-a-kind and allows for some nice feats of engineering, such as the power button being located on the top-left corner of the laptop so it's accessible even in tablet-mode as well as a Thunderbolt 3 Port being accessible on the top-right corner so the USB-C cable will naturally be pointed in a direction away from the laptop and out of the way of any wired mice. I love the matte finish and color scheme (rose gold/matte black {matches my Sony WH-1000XM4's}) and the hinge is very sturdy, even after 3 months of use.
— Unlock Options. This laptop has Windows Hello facial recognition as well as an integrated fingerprint scanner, allowing for great versatility in how you'd like to unlock your laptop.
Cons:
— Battery Life. For me, I've struggled to get more than 5 to 6 hours of light use at medium brightness from this laptop without having to plug it up. It probably has to do with the laptop powering it's beautiful 4K OLED touch screen display, but nonetheless, this is a problem for people on-the-go like myself.
— GPU Selection at time of Purchase. I feel as if by having an option to purchase this laptop with a mid-tier NVIDIA GPU that it was trying to appeal to gamers. It can be a struggle to maintain 60 to 70 FPS while playing new game titles at mid-tier settings at times, and I've noticed the performance of the laptop drops SIGNIFICANTLY once the battery goes below about 40% to where my FPS will spike drastically. Not sure exactly why it does this. If you're going to give me the option to include a decent GPU in the laptop and it be quite heavy already, why not let me shove a 20-series NVIDIA GPU into it and live with the tiny bit more weight for a better gaming experience? Side note: I notice tons of screen-tearing when I am gaming, but this may be as a result of some settings I haven't tweaked correctly. Not sure.
— Weight. If you are trying to market this laptop to on-the-go workers by day and gamers by night, this system can't seem to make up its mind about what it'd like to be. I feel it is too heavy to be a practical to replace tablets for some people while the GPU in the laptop is unable to compete with most gaming laptops for performance - even ones that can lie flat, but maybe not go fully convertible. It is an OK gaming laptop and an OK 2-in-1, but not exemplary at either just because of the weight and lack of GPU options and performance.
In-Betweens:
— Port Selection. I am happy about having a full HDMI port as well as two Thunderbolt 3 ports, but the barrel charging port should have been weeded out this generation and replaced with another Thunderbolt 3 port or another USB-A port - maybe even a DisplayPort. This is made up for with the SIM Card reader and Hardware Camera Kill-Switch (!!!).
— Thunderbolt 3 Port Issues. I am currently building a setup with external monitors, and this laptop's Thunderbolt ports seem to be giving not only myself but lots of other users huge issues when trying to use them for display-out purposes. After months of researching, somebody finally posted a solution to my issue on an HP Support thread in the past 24 hours which fixed my issue and my setup. This may be a sign of bad software or some inconsistent ports, but either way, this is something that should be noted.
Final Thoughts:
I feel this laptop is good at everything but not particularly great at anything besides watching movies on it's gorgeous display. It is an OK gaming laptop, a pretty good tablet replacement besides it being QUITE heavy (and I'm being kind), and it's an alright productivity laptop but it's battery life is inconsistent at best and the 16:9 screen ratio isn't the best for doing real work. If you're looking for an on-the-go laptop/tablet for productivity and/or school, I'd look at Microsoft's Surface lineups. If you're looking for a gaming laptop, this is not where you should be looking. If you want something somewhere in the middle and NEED your laptop to be convertible and pen-compatible, then you may want to look at this x360.
Regardless, I feel the price is too high for this laptop under any circumstances, and if you are looking at buying this laptop, consider open-box or wait for a decent sale (or do both, like I did).
Dec 28, 2020 00:30Awesome 2in1 laptop. Does run hot at times if you have a lot of things running but you can cool it down with the HO command center thermal profile
Apr 13, 2021 11:29Good and efficace product but it’s expensive. I recommend everybody to buy this product because it has HP - Spectre x360 2-in-1 15.6" 4K Ultra HD Touch-Screen Laptop Intel Core i7 16GB Memory GeForce GTX 1650 Ti 1TB SSD - Nightfall Black
Oct 23, 2020 15:45What you get for the money on this laptop is nothing short of incredible. First, the looks and feel. This laptop looks simply brilliant with its rose gold accents and matte black finish. The hinges are sturdy and well designed and the keyboard is pleasingly tactile. Second: the OLED screen is contrasty and ultra sharp. Third: You can use it as a drawing pad and it comes with a well designed pencil. Fourth, it is speedy and useful for production work in video and photography. Fifth, the speakers are excellent, with sound that is full and spacious.
That said, every laptop has its faults. This laptop can run hot at times. Once everything "settled in" with my software, mine became a lot cooler. The battery life is middling, but not bad considering the processor and the screen. But these are the only two real issues. Everything else is just nitpicking. It is one of the great laptops in looks, performance and build.
Sep 04, 2021 14:59Designed to keep you productive and entertained from anywhere, the HP 14-inch diagonal laptop combines long lasting battery life with a thin and portable, microedge bezel design.

Sep 19, 2021 17:20The OMEN 15 is a perfect example of how there can never be too much of a good thing. With an AMD Ryzen™ processor, NVIDIA® GeForce graphics and cooled by Omen Tempest Cooling, it makes you think how it all fits into such a tiny little package. We don’t need to tell you how good it looks and feels to play on, but we’re going to do it anyways. It’s easy on the eyes with a luscious design and fast display. Crafted with Audio by Bang & Olufsen and super long battery life, so that means you won’t stop farming those wins or those admiring looks. The OMEN 15 doesn’t just stop at having powerful specs and an amazing look. With OMEN Gaming Hub, you can customize and optimize everything from performance controls to the RGB keyboard. It’s easy to upgrade and has all the ports you need, so you can take it even further beyond other mere gaming laptops.
I love this laptop, it’s fast, it runs everything I want, and (coming from the tiny Razer Blade Stealth) it’s not as bulky as I thought it was going to be!
My only real complaint is that it can run pretty hot but it’s nothing horrible.
Sep 17, 2021 16:14This laptop has exceeded my expectations so far. Too soon to tell but definitely worth every $$
Apr 15, 2021 02:49A great Extremely powerful, compact laptop! I was very impressed when I got this thing home and downloaded my programs I use for photo editing. My prior laptop had a powerful intel I7 process but had a very weak GPU, so I had to get a new laptop. One thing about this laptop that really surprised me was Since I take photos and these photos get stored on SD cards I really wanted a built-in SD-card reader. I also knew that most built-in SD-card readers do not have fast read & write speeds.. I was very surprised to see this built-in SD-carder reader, had fantastic read and write speeds for being a built-in unit...
175MB Read speed & 111MB write speed, using a Sandisk Extreme pro SD card. The speed at which I can view/remove & or edit my photos now with a faster memory card reader is amazing!
The processor in this laptop Ryzen 7 5800H handles photo editing without any lag at all ... There is nothing at all slow about this laptop ... It just got performance built into every aspect of its design !
i strongly advise anyone that buys this laptop that you read the owner's manual that came with it. or look at the downloadable one from HP... here is why .. this laptop comes with 2 graphics cards.. one is built-in from AMD its good but a lower level GPU than the one that is advertised as coming with this laptop .. Geforce RTX 3060... by default the rtx3060 was turned off.. also the keyboard lighting by default was also turned off. This laptop was great when I first brought it home... BUT... 2 days later after reading the manual on how to do this, now this laptop is amazing !
Apr 15, 2021 07:06at first i was impressed with the laptop.
i just bought this 4 days ago? played twice till date.
Last night it crashed twice while trying to play games like sims 4 or atlas ark ect.

i thing get a normal start i start a game i was previously just playing befor all this it crashed and sent me to a blue screen saying its checking why this happened
idk what the deal is but not to happy
i am now returning
Aug 09, 2021 00:45This laptop is a great mid level gaming laptop. It can handle everything I throw at it game wise. Great upgrade options for RAM and Storage.
Pro’s:
-Powerful.
-Screen has good color after some adjustments and smooth 144hz refresh.
-Port selections.
-Design of laptop sits nicely between elegant and “gamer”.
-Upgradeability.
-GPU Temps are good.
Con’s:
- 100w TDP max on GPU. Sits in the middle of TDP range. (70w-130w approximately). Still good just not the best.
- Fans at max are very loud. Need headphones at close to max cooling.
-CPU runs hot. Usually hovers around 80-90 in normal gaming.
- Limited CPU wattage due to optimus. (25-35w)
There are some power compromises as with many gaming laptops on this laptop but it’s expected at this price range. I get about 3-4 hours with basic usage on battery but this is made to be used with power adapter plugged in. Overall, it is a great machine and would recommend.
Aug 17, 2021 10:51Is a great price to performance laptop. It ran at a under 85 degrees Celsius at full fan speed and full power while playing overwatch at ultra settings. It has a super nice keyboard that has great RGB. The software is very clean and works great. The display is awesome. Great viewing angles and is fast. Overall, it is an awesome laptop.
May 07, 2021 15:13Got this laptop cause it was at a good price and build quality was good.
The only issue on have was getting it running games at 100% this thing should have been ready to go out the box but no I had to dig thru all the settings getting it to run right.
This thing is loud when those fans go and for good reason this laptop will easily go to 90c on the CPU the GPU stays around 70c tho which is good.
This could be fixed with under volting which I won't do.
Other than that its perfectly fine for light gaming and light work and fans won't be too anoyying but if you want to game just have a fan tray with a vacuum sucking air out of the CPU fan to keep it from melting.
When its on full power mode and fans screaming it will run all games ultra with full refresh and at 100+ fps.
Sep 24, 2021 15:49So far so good not wanting to jinx it lol! I will say this is not a max q gpu! You get the full power which per this unit says a 100 watts! So far performs excellent! I had last year Intel model with the 2060 and this runs significantly quieter with the ability to adjust the fans in 100 rpm increments which is nice! So far very impressed only this different besides the specs is little rubber nubs to prevent screen lid from flexing

-Physical and Aesthetic-
This is a nice looking laptop with comfortable and effective keyboard and trackpad. Though I have metal laptops as well, I prefer a plastic chassis like this one has as I find it more comfortable to my palms (and legs if wearing shorts). Despite being plastic, nothing looks or feels cheap. I actually quite like this keyboard. There is nothing special about it but there is nothing at all distracting or oddly placed.
-Display-
This display is matte, and the colors a bit dull. This is not bad and rather common in modern laptops but if you are a fan of mac displays, samsung TVs, i.e. rich and saturated colors, you will find this display to be washed out. Brightness is more than adequate. As I sit in my brightly-lit living room typing this review, I have it at about 70%.
-Performance-
I'm impressed with the snappiness of this machine. It is a bit sluggish coming out of sleep but otherwise I haven't had to wait a moment for a web page to load, to switch between apps, open a file, etc.
-Minor Annoyance-
This could be attributable to Windows or even just the machine catching up on updates behind the scenes (I've had it for a day) but when the machine wakes from sleep, the wifi doesn't consistently connect. I've had to either wait about 30 seconds or go as far as reboot to get it established again.
For my money, I feel like the value of this laptop is just right. The quality characteristics are perfectly inline with $800.
About me: career IT and software developer, and a mac.
Nov 14, 2021 07:38So I'll start off saying that I've only ever bought 1 other laptop with an AMD processor and I had vowed to never do that again...well until now. So I really needed a new laptop for one of my employees and needed it that day and couldn't wait. Well to my disappointment they were completely out of anything in the price range that i was looking in except this one with the AMD. I REALLY DIDN'T want to to do it but i didn't have time to be searching everywhere so I went ahead with the purchase...and to my utter astonishment I am now changing my mind about AMD! This computer is fast and has great graphics and processing speed. The battery has been good but not great but that is to he expected these days on laptops in my experience. And my employee really like the quick change to a tablet with this 2 in 1. All in all I welas pleasantly surprised by this purchase and am glad i don't regret it!
Nov 21, 2021 09:54I bought this like a few days ago. I can say it runs smooth, the audio is perfect literally, and the battery life is good. It has fast charging. Another thing I like is the tablet mode the screen feels great and overall the quality of the keyboard and the screen are great. The one thing I did noticed was the fan. It’s a little loud but honestly it shouldn’t be a problem you can’t even hear it if there is regular background noise only when it’s silent but then it’s just a little loud. I haven’t done heavy gaming on it just some light games those run very smooth as well. Would recommend if you are a collage student.
Nov 15, 2021 11:42HP envyx360 nice portable laptop with plenty of power and memory. Setup was simple color is crisp, love the backlit keyboard. Having option to fold laptop like a tablet or fold it halfway also
Nov 12, 2021 17:34Awesome. The exception why not 5 star? Needing to make appointments. Done none local , I guess international. Was terrible experience. Got hung up on accidentally, called me back to send to someone else and got hung up on. Never called back. When it confirms my appointment I get notifications cancelled and I never cancelled.
Nov 05, 2021 15:44BestBuy sales rep Lee listened to my needs and offered up relevant features regarding size of screen, ergonomics of keyboard and value.
Nov 12, 2021 18:35Took a bit to get it to work with my programs, but with help from the Geek Squad, it is now working great for my school work.
Nov 19, 2021 16:47This product has excited my expectations so far I'm working from home and its very practical.
Nov 17, 2021 17:03The HP 17 Laptop PC is about sustainability while blending performance and comfort.
Works great! love the touchscreen and larger screen. Battery time is more than sufficient. First computer was a Dell nothing but problems since then HP and am very satisfied.
Oct 16, 2021 10:59It's good.

Sep 25, 2021 04:12HP laptop purchased is very sleek snd light weight. The purchase price was extremely reasonable. I would definitely purchase again!
Jul 21, 2021 07:12I have limited knowledge of computers. However I can navigate this one fine
Oct 23, 2021 10:54Everything is working well and as described. No issues .
Jul 16, 2021 17:23You pay for what you get. I bought it for my business meetings and it is very low quality that i can't use zoom backgrounds. Think before you buy.
Oct 03, 2021 08:45I purchased this laptop for my daughter's birthday. Well for some reason there is someone else's personal information on it regarding their bankruptcy and medical bills. She is very unhappy. We will be calling regarding this issue.
Sep 23, 2021 14:26amazing PC with huge screen and touch screen capability. I am very much satisfied with the PC and would recommend it.

I am running the prerelease version of Windows 11 on this laptop so don't worry about Windows 11 compatibility, it meets both the TPM 2.0 and Secureboot requirements. Now onto the review... this laptop comes with Windows 10 S mode, not standard Windows 10. Now you're reading this like "what the heck is S mode???" It's a mode where Windows runs only Windows store apps and apps that are built into Windows. This means you can't run standard Windows software like VLC, or Word, or Firefox or Chrome (although Windows 10 now has a new Edge browser which is built on Chrome). This limitation seems like a an immediate no-buy but it is possible to easily change out of S mode to run standard Windows 10 so you can run all your popular Windows apps. There is no charge to do this, but you will never be able to switch back into S mode again even if you restore the PC to factory default. You need to know that if you decide to switch out of S mode the laptop requires a ram upgrade from 4GB to 8GB or 16GB. If you only have 4GB the laptop's graphic processor is not able to reconcile this small amount of GPU memory (512MB) with GPU accelerated apps like web browsers, Discord, and video players will eventually cause the PC to hard freeze up without a blue screen. Okay you can work around this by turning off GPU acceleration in those apps and the computer will stop freezing. Unfortunately 4GB is still too little ram to run Windows 10 (or 11) in it's normal mode if you need to run multiple apps and multiple browser tabs. You will experience browser tabs that unload and when you switch back to it the page will have to reload the tab - and that's quite annoying. I also had problems with wireless mice refusing to let the PC sleep with 4GB of ram. After determining the lack of ram was causing problems I decided to grab a big fat stick of 16GB ram. Now all of these problems are gone just like that. I can even play games like Eve Online now. With extra ram this laptop functions great, I have not encountered any unusual little problems. The single core IPC in CPU-Z is about 10% slower than a Ryzen 1600 desktop CPU. BestBuy's Patriot ram they sell in the stores is not compatible with this laptop, I tried it and had to return it. For those who like to upgrade RAM themselves here's a list of compatible ram modules from Crucial, just google these part numbers:
*16GB CT16G4SFD832A (fastest choice, dual rank stick)
16GB CT16G4SFD8266 (fastest choice, dual rank stick)
16GB CT16G4SFD824A (fastest choice, dual rank stick)
16GB CT16G4SFRA32A (slightly slower, single rank stick)
16GB CT16G4SFRA266 (slightly slower, single rank stick)
8GB CT8G4SFRA32A (slightly slower, single rank stick)
8GB CT8G4SFRA266 (slightly slower, single rank stick)
8GB CT8G4SFS824A (slightly slower, single rank stick)
*The first entry on the list above is the stick that I used. It doesn't really matter what speed ram you select from the list above the memory controller on this CPU will only run at DDR4-2400 maximum. Dual rank DDR4 memory can be 5-10% faster than single rank. Upgrading the ram isn't hard, remove the rubber feet strips by simply pulling them off, unscrew six phillips screws, then spudger the plastic assembly around the edges. Pull off the bottom plastic assembly and you will have access to the RAM and SSD slots. Paying Geeksquad to do it would be best if you aren't comfortable with this. It can be done in 10 minutes so labor will not cost much and you don't have to be out of service waiting for it to be done.
I recommend this laptop if you're on a budget, but only if you're willing to upgrade the ram, The 4GB configuration is simply too slow and too buggy, but that will be the issue for any laptop with only 4GB.
Sep 18, 2021 22:55Good basic no frills laptop for every day uses like banking social media is what I was looking for and pleased by its performance so far opted out of the s mode setting because my bank gives me free internet security Webroot for online banking and s mode would not let it run till just run the regular windows 10. My laptop purchased had a free 3 month subscription to webroot then after 3 months I had to buy webroot . Wish the keyboard had a number pad beside the letter keyboard but this only has the numbers on the top row which takes a bit to get accustomed to..
Mar 21, 2021 12:09Great HP product. The laptop I purchased had 128 gb of hard drive and 4 gb of Ram. I added Microsoft 365 to compliment Windows 11 Home. I can complete any work that I may encounter quite easily.
Oct 30, 2021 14:15This HP - 14" Laptop - AMD Athlon - 4GB Memory - 128GB SSD is
very fast for is basic needs and have features are happy to see.
Picture and sound is very clean and the best part SSD . However,
the user can upgrade 2 memory slots and new hard drive like I
did for better faster performance and that is me. As is this very fast and light weight very nice price and great work HP . Battery life is
about 3hrs. for me. There is no DVD drive. The upgrades got at Best buy.
Sep 11, 2021 19:06Glad that I made this purchase. I love the quality and the price was good. I would also like to also say, the salesman that helped us did a very excellent job.
Apr 28, 2021 19:04I love my laptop! It's everything I wanted and needed
Oct 29, 2021 15:48This is my first personal laptop and I like it a lot!!
Apr 17, 2021 17:11For a 2c/2t processor and 4gb of ram, I am quite impressed. But, to be on the dafe side, I ended up buying another 4gb of ram (ddr4) and ended up adding a 512gb ssd for a secondary storage (I didn'treally need to for what I planned on using it for). You will need to buy a 10 pin ssd/hdd connector ($8-$22 item w/ or w/o a caddy). Of course, it will require you to remove the bottom panel, which wasn't that hard to do.
Sad part is that I did my research ahead of time and best buy employee didn't know crap stating that I couldn't upgrade the ram or storage due to due to the slimness of the laptop. Also, stating that there is no fan in the system which there is because there is a small one for the cpu.

Been having this laptop for 2 years and it’s working great. The only thing I don’t like is the USB ports because of how they move, it’s difficult to insert them and take them out.
