More flexible than a traditional laptop, its 360° hinge allows mobile workers to use it as a laptop or a tablet; or even in tent or stand mode for 1:1 presentations inside or outside the office. Includes features such as fingerprint reader, 720p camera and smart card reader. Meanwhile, the battery lasts up to 10 hours, ensuring uninterrupted productivity on the go.
Overall, I would rate this Lenovo model at a 4.7.
As a disclaimer, I don't do gaming and will be using this as a recreational / work alternative. That said, the 8 GB RAM and i5 intel processor is plenty sufficient for me.
I have only had it for a week so I haven't fully broken it in to determine if there are any shortfalls. Here are my initial thoughts:
Pros:
- Amazing keyboard. After going back and forth from my old Surface 3 to my Dell Work laptop, this keyboard definitely shines above.
- Included rechargeable stylus. I'm not one to really use a stylus but as I am taking work related classes, I can see how it can be used for easy mark-ups or highlighting. The draw to text is cool as you can use it in place of typing if you really wanted to.
- Great Convertibility. Obviously as a 2-in-1, you wouldn't expect anything different. However after going from a small (but lighter) Surface 3 to this, i can see the difference. Tablet mode for reading articles, papers or anything is much better than the standard laptop method. I assume this feature would be helpful for big readers.
- Overall durability. As a military service member, I appreciate the durability of any tech I own. As you may know, this Lenovo series goes through many durability tests which make it great for workers on the go or those who have to transport their laptops in very hot and cool environments. Although I haven't tested it, the spill resistant keyboard is a big plus.
Cons.
- Idle RAM usage. For some reason, my background processes consume about 30-40% of my memory. It hasn't resulted in any issues and I will continue to work with it as there are some user fixes. However, it surprised my as it basically leaves me 4-5 GB not utilized. This may ne a non-issue though but did want to bring it up as a note.
- Battery life is just ok. Other models have better battery life and I can attest that this model doesn't win any awards. However, it's not a big issue. I think most professional reviews put this at 6-7 hours with mixed use.
Other notes:
- Loud fan noise and overheating has been a complaint by some. My model was a bit loud at first but after all the initial updates, it hasn't been an issue since. Of course there will be some fan noise with heavy use but it's not all that bad.
For professional reviews, I would recommend MobileTechReview on YouTube. They review the GEN 1 version of this model but a lot of the data is consistent. For the price, I think it was a great option. I would definitely recommend this for students or as an alternative, mobile work computer.
Jun 18, 2021 10:13Amazing quality, speed, comfortable, durable. Only downfall is you cannot upgrade the ram. However 8gb is plenty for what I need it for. I am a full stack developer and when I am away from my desktop and need to code it does everything perfectly. The tablet mode is perfect, stylus is insanely accurate, and the display is amazing. It handles all my programs with ease, no hiccups, no stutters. I have had it over a month now and the battery life is still incredible. The SSD I will eventually upgrade to a 1TB as I have a ton of files and repositories I need to work on, but overall I’m truly happy with this laptop. I’m glad I ended up with this over the surface. Not saying anything bad about Microsoft surface but the cost difference for minuscule performance changes was enough for me. To pull the trigger on this Lenovo.
I build MERN apps on it and I feel comfortable with the keyboard and display. Highly recommend. I do suggest a mouse if you aren’t used to the pad but those are easy to find *cheap Logitech* will do the job just fine.
Will definitely go with Lenovo again when the time comes to upgrade which I don’t see being any time soon.
5/5 for me. I’d give 6 if the ram was upgradable, but those are small issues that are from me being picky.
Highly recommend. If you’re on the fence about it just jump on over you won’t be let down.
Jul 03, 2021 05:42Overall the computer has worked well. I did have a problem with it not waking from sleep mode, and had to check youtube to see how to wake it up. Other than that, I haven't had any problems. The computer is lighter and smaller than my previous computer, and I hope it will be more durable than my last one.
Sep 28, 2021 15:00Went into the store just looking for basic laptop had a couple of must-have features explain to the salesman what I was looking for quickly directed me to the three available options that had the features I desired explain the benefits of each of them and allowed me to make my choice. I am very happy with my purchase the computer worksExcellent

Jun 27, 2021 13:59Good for price and need for service’s also light wait
Oct 29, 2021 16:54This laptop is perfect for me!! It does exactly what I need and is so user friendly!! Love it.
Sep 04, 2021 06:37Excellent tool. We use it for advanced projects and more complex applications like VISIO or MS Project.

I’m glad I decided to go with this laptop, but there are a few things I dislike about it. The natural oils from my hands leave prints all over the computer. I have provided a picture. It looks soooo dirty. I also can’t see the letters very well at night, because the keys don’t light up. The screen glares a bit, and the camera isn’t very great. The price, the size and memory are the reasons I’m giving it 4 stars. It does what I need it to, so overall it’s okay.
Mar 26, 2021 15:50I went shopping for a new laptop. My primary criteria was that it has 10 key (number pad), a disk drive and an i5 or better. This left me with very few options, 3 to be exact and one of those was on "Clearance" which really only left 2 options and both were identical aside from processor generations/speed.
I had previously been using a Dell E5440 upgraded to 16 Gigabytes of memory and a 1Tb SSD and aside from the lack of processor power, my biggest complaint was a lack of 10 key.
Out of the box I was pretty happy with my new HP laptop, it is bigger yet lighter than my previous laptop (I do use my laptop on my lap) and it has all the features I knew I wanted.
One of the biggest features that I found "missing" right off the bat was the lack of dedicated speaker control buttons but I knew to gain things I want I would sacrifice some of my comfort items.
Power on it needs to finish setting up, input personal information and set up the security. Once loaded I found it full of bloatware and using nearly 45 gigs of its very tiny hard drive. A quick Google search showed me how to remove all the bloatware and get it to a standard Windows computer which took about an hour to complete. Once all the bloatware is removed you lose function of many of the quick access keys for things like volume adjustment (basically anything you use with the fn key plus the "F" keys at the top of the board)
The PC is shipped in "S" mode meaning it is supposed to be extra secure by not letting you install unauthorized programs. The 2 that are worth mentioning is Google Chrome and Trend Micro. Typically I wouldn't waste my time even mentioning Trend Micro but Best Buy chose to "bundle" a 6 month free version of the software with a PC that can't use it. Getting it out of "S" mode is fairly simple, but does take a bit of time and Windows uses lots of "scare tactics" to make you really second guess you decision. Most of the programs that I wanted to use are either not available from the windows store or they charge for them so pulling it out of "S" mode was a no brainer for me.
The mouse pad is a generous size which I thought I'd really like but has quickly turned into an irritant. If HP would have moved the mouse pad down just half an inch this wouldn't be a gripe from me. As it is placed, when you type, your palm is constantly moving the mouse around. I also find it difficult to use the mouse keys as it seems like they are halfway you the platform of the board rather than at the bottom where they belong (I'm sure this is a "Me" issue but it was worth noting.
The optical drive, one of the biggest reasons I purchased this laptop, does not preform like it should. I am slowly digitizing my very large CD and movie collection and upon inserting a disk the drive does nothing. I have to open file explorer and force it to read the disk so that it can be ripped to my library. Every computer I have ever had prior to this one automatically recognized that I've inserted a disk and I was able to tell it what I wanted it to do when the disk was inserted. This would typically just be a minor nuisance if I only used the drive once a day, week, month or year but as it stands I insert 15-20 disks a day and have to force it to read every time which has greatly slowed my progress.
The installed 256 gigabyte SSD I knew was going to be a problem right off when purchasing. I do have a NAS (network attached storage) so I decided that the small storage shouldn't be an issue. As it turns out I did not realize how much space I use on a hard drive. The 256gb drive shows a usable amount of 237gb which is pretty common. With Windows installed, along with Office 365 and a couple of other small programs I used 50gb leaving me with just 187gb of storage. For most that should be enough but I was receiving storage alerts just 2 days after using the computer. I will be upgrading to a 1tb hard drive in the next day or two which leads me to my next concern...
The laptop is not shipped with any kind of Windows key or proof of genuine Windows 10 authentication. Which means that when I upgrade my hard drive, or the hard drive fails in general, you may have some difficulty with reinstalling Windows. Windows does not like hardware changes, when I reimaged my old hard drive to the new 1tb SSD in my previous laptop I had to input the Windows code to be able to activate it even though it was activated before (I will update this if I have major issues when I upgrade the hard drive).
The body of the laptop seems very flimsy. I am admittedly used to the very rugged case on my small Dell laptop and only time will tell how it stands up to the test of time.
The screen is very shiny meaning it will reflect any light behind you. It would have been nice to have an antiglare screen option but that would have added to the cost of the unit.
Over all, aside from some glitches, this laptop seems to run very well and has the power to do what I need it to do. For the average user it will most likely perform flawlessly for a couple of years which is realistically the life expectancy of a laptop in this price range. This is far from a high end gaming PC but is an decent general use or work from home PC.
Jan 30, 2021 10:03I bought this laptop from my wife to replace an older HP she mostly does reports for work and zoom meetings she's that family member with 23 open tabs this machine handles all this very well
Feb 02, 2021 11:27I bought this laptop because it had the new 11th generation Intel processors in it. I use it for online school and heavy gaming. I play mostly War Thunder, and I’m hitting a minimum of 45 FPS at max settings. This is a very, very good laptop and I would suggest it to anyone.
Jan 28, 2021 22:21My wife and I needed a new laptop just for basic stuff like Zoom and browsing the internet. This laptop gets the job done. It’s super face with the ssd. It boots up and turns off within seconds. Graphics and audio are pretty good as I’ve tested it with next Netflix.
Jan 22, 2021 18:37Great for my researching for work, mail and everyday use. Love the size. Perfect size to carry.
Oct 20, 2021 19:56I really feel like a received an exceptional buy with this laptop. It took a bit to figure out all the in's and out's, but I am pleased with how it is working. Thank you
Feb 20, 2021 08:42This is a great computer. You don’t break your bank when you buy it and it’s very easy to adjust to. Even my wireless mouse and keyboard hooked right up with no issues at all. I would recommend this to anyone especially if you don’t want to spend a great amount of money.
May 21, 2021 22:31Samsung 4+ Chromebook: Browse the web and finish assignments with this 15.6-inch Samsung Chromebook 4+ notebook. An Intel Celeron processor provides the power to tackle everyday computing tasks, and the 4GB of RAM support smooth multitasking. This Samsung Chromebook 4+ notebook has 32GB of flash memory that accommodates files and documents and offers fast boot times.
Very happy with this purchase. For $299 this is excellent value. I use this Chromebook as my main desktop computer, connected to a second monitor & external keyboard, mouse & speakers & it works great. If I have more than, say 8-10 tabs/windows open, the performance starts to slow down a little & there is a lag in switching between windows, so I need to occasionally shut some tabs/windows - but to that point, it is comparable in performance & features to my previous Pixelbook (apart from touchscreen, back-lit keyboard, which were nice but I can live without given the low price of this device).
Dec 17, 2020 03:49The dual USB-C ports, both usable for recharging the 10h battery, is a nice improvement over my previous Chromebook - which used a proprietary (and too soon misplaced) recharge cable with the "phone" port on the left side.
This is noticeably faster than my previous Samsung Chromebook 1 - and I quickly filled up the 32G mass storage ("Flash Memory"). Having a conflict between using the single USB-A port for my Bluetooth mouse, and various USB removable flash drives, I found the MicroSD port, bought a 256GB Ultra Micro flash drive for the SD Ultra Micro port - and now have 150+ GB of available storage.
I still hate the "touchpad" for precision work - so my Bluetooth mouse will always be part of my life. And the ability to move the recharging cable between left and right sides gives me improved ergonomics in seating, when I use it.
The wide screen display makes it possible to zoom into different websites - and to use the Chrome "shelf" more effectively.
And it still fits into my backpack, for carrying to remote locations.
The sound system, with stereo speakers based in the "17 inch" form factor, is pretty close to home stereo quality. Alternately, it makes a pretty good music server, with my Bluetooth soundbar.
Altogether, this is a good buy for $300.
Jun 04, 2020 09:02After taking it out of the box I powered it up and began the setup process worked great then the pad area began to not work so well. Overall good product but watch how you use the Pad area
Oct 13, 2021 10:45This is By far the best chromebook I have ever had. I look forward to buying more of Samsung products.
Feb 06, 2021 07:33I have this Chromebook for almost a month now, and is working fine, I have to say that I only use it to read my email and listen to music, so so far is been great
Jun 18, 2020 14:30Love this chromebook! Great screen size easy to use!
May 21, 2020 00:32This was a Christmas gift for my mom. She likes Samsung and wanted a "word processor". She was very surprised and happy when she received it. We set it up and got her started with the laptop. When I spoke to her last week she hadn't had much time to use it yet.
Jan 09, 2021 22:36I really do enjoy the computer, I just hope that I can still purchase the geek squad protection for it.
Sep 07, 2020 08:57Meet the ultra-lightweight 16" LG gram. The 2.6-lb LG gram can go with you anywhere. Its light form factor packs a powerful punch with its Intel Evo Platform Powered by 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-1165G7 CPU with Intel Iris® Xe graphics. Long-lasting battery life of up to 22 hours. Up to 16GB RAM with a 1TB NVMe solid-state drive. It's time to do more on the go with the ultra-portable LG gram.
I took a little quiz I found on google to help me find a laptop that's right for me and it suggested this for something used primarily for school and recreation.
The screen is amazing, it's so bright and clear and it's huge so it's perfect for watching anything. I've played a few games which have all run with no issues but none of them are very modern games so they aren't exactly pushing anything to its limits.
The screen size is great for writing and having an article open side-by-side.
I've done all this since getting the laptop three days ago and I only charged the battery when I first took it out of the box. Right now I'm at 33% with about 4 hours life left!
It also comes with what seems to be LG's alternative to the Adope programs (photoshop etc.) but requires you to pay to actually use them as far as I can tell. You can pay a pretty cheap subscription to use them, but after buying a $1600+ product it'd be nice for at least a few months free access.
The only real problem I have is that the material seems to be SO lightweight/thin that if I'm sitting with it on my legs and putting enough pressure on the bottom of the laptop (under the trackpad) it sometimes registers as me clicking and holding. Once I figured out this was happening it was easy enough to avoid, but still an inconvenience when I'm trying to curl up comfortably on the couch and get some work done.
Overall I'm happy with it and if it lasts 6+ years like the quiz said it should, I'll be glad that I spent a bit extra on it.
Other people were saying the color is incorrect, but I got silver just like the listing says.
Jul 03, 2021 11:59I am loving this light laptop, the one issue I have is that the number keypad is too small for my large hands. I guess I am lucky it even has it because all of the new laptops don't even have it... as an Accountant I need it.
May 09, 2021 13:59I personally care the most about a good screen, the battery life, and at least decent performance. This laptop roughly meets that but I don't get the battery life that's claimed for it. I don't leave the brightness on the lowest setting or set the power plan on battery saver or anything like that but I don't crank the screen brightness either. Battery life is more like 10, MAYBE 15 hours, not the 20+ that's listed on the product page.
I also am not a big fan of the screen as it doesn't get very bright but the colors seem to be good enough. The QHD resolution is very nice as well, 4k would have been excessive and hurt the battery life, and also 1080p (or 1200p since this uses a 16:10 screen) is not enough nowadays. I do like the I/O on the laptop since there's plenty of ports to use and they didn't make any dumb decisions to include very little. The keyboard is decent enough as well but the numpad is a bit annoying since it's shrunk down and you'd have to get used to it.
I don't care much for how light it is since I was just looking for a good laptop that could compete on the level around the Dell XPS but this falls short. The I/O is definitely better on this laptop since Dell made the dumb decision to basically only use USB-C ports but the Dell definitely has much better build quality, a much brighter screen, and seems the more premium device. This laptop is pretty flimsy but you can't expect much since they're trying to have a super light laptop.
I'll give this laptop more time and might edit this review/remake it if possible but right now I'm a bit disappointed and I don't think I'll stick with it. This laptop is decent but I don't think it fits what I want specifically.
Aug 03, 2021 15:52This purchase was to replace an older laptop, which was getting too slow. Chose this PC mainly for the total SSD feature. The purchase process online was seamless and shipping arrived on schedule. Setting up the PC was also easy and once connected to the other devices at home, file transfer from the older laptop took less than 2 hours. After 5 days of use, I've relegated the old laptop to being only a print server. One surprise about this PC was the inability of the user to replace the LO battery. Apparently if the battery fails at some point, a service request would need to be made and a service fee charged to get the battery replaced. Rarely do I rave about a product, but so far, I love this laptop.
Despite my praise for this PC, I have two complaints, neither of which relates to the operation of the laptop: First, LG provides only a bare minimum of user information in the box, including a skimpy “quick start guide.” There is LG provided information on the machine, but nothing in the box to indicate as much, or where to find it. After 4 days, I finally found the LG information I was after. Second, Best Buy's product description does not match up with the LG Product number. I ordered, by the BB description, a silver laptop, but the associated model number on the BB website, Model:16Z90P-K.AAB8U1, is actually black. I suspect the model number for the silver laptop is actually Model:16Z90P-K.AAS8U1, which is associated with BB's black model. Fortunately, while I would have preferred a silver laptop, the fact that I received a black model was simply unfortunate, but not a deal breaker, or cause for me to return the product.
My rating is 4.9, but only because of the two complaints cited: otherwise, a 5.0.
Jun 22, 2021 15:33Really light laptop with good screen and processor. USB-C charging is a real plus.
Keyboard and touchpad not the most comfortable.
Aug 20, 2021 18:01Very nice laptop, screen is not as great as I expected and speakers located on the bottom of chassis but besides that very nice built. Holds charge at my usual use for about 12-10 hours. Bought HP pavilion with touch screen (same hardware inside) for my sister and that one freezes and doesn’t hold a charge(screen is somehow better than LG). So, LG is better than HP in my situation. Hope this helps to those choosing laptop.
May 24, 2021 16:49My wife loves it. With the Core i7 and the SSD its fast and extremely light.
Apr 05, 2021 17:49It is extremely light for a 16-inch laptop. The fan runs very quiet too. The only issue was that Bestbuy shipped me the wrong color.
Apr 25, 2021 17:15Engineered for long-lasting performance, the Lenovo™ IdeaPad™ 3 delivers powerful performance with Intel Pentium Processors and integrated Intel UHD Graphics 605, in a laptop that's perfect for your everyday tasks, with features that you can depend on.
Just needed a basic PC laptop as a backup to do school work. So far it works pretty well. If you're looking for something to do basic things, this computer could be for you. It's also pretty lightweight!
Oct 11, 2021 00:18Bought this for my daughter to use during COVID-19 remote learning. Great laptop, good size. No complains so far, so good
Oct 02, 2021 23:49Seems to be working very well, battery life is not as good as I thought it would be. Overall performance is good.
Oct 29, 2021 16:51Good computer. Ended up exchanging it beacuse of a dead pixel - new one working great.
Oct 23, 2021 02:50good quality.... is all i expected, i use for my studies.. best price
Oct 20, 2021 08:26excellent for working at home, very light to take with you on the go
Oct 29, 2021 17:28Great product. Absolutely the best possible. Very satisfied
Oct 15, 2021 15:59It’s one of my favorite laptops I have ever had for school
Oct 16, 2021 00:06ASUS E410 Laptop. Enjoy everyday activity with this ASUS notebook PC. The Intel Celeron processor and 4GB of RAM allows you run programs smoothly on the 14-inch HD display. This ASUS notebook PC has 64GB eMMC that shortens load times and offers ample storage.
Love this Laptop I needed it for online teaching and the camera was excellent. Thank you Best Buy only wish I had upgraded and got one with an internet port I had to buy an USB adapter.
May 17, 2021 03:25Gets the job done and more for a extremely reasonable price.
Oct 15, 2021 18:12U get what u pay for, one of the keys on keyboard is popped up already & haven’t had a month.
Sep 03, 2021 16:40Great value for price. Bought solely for college & runescape, definitely does the trick.
Sleek, feels sturdy, the track pad calculator was initially a bit tacky but turned out to be VERY handy.
WAY better than a chromebook. Having actual storage is a massive plus.
Aug 05, 2021 01:12I hate that toolbar keeps popping up whenever I try to click anything. I do not like where the number pad is located. I’m old school. It’s getting too complicated
Jul 02, 2021 20:27At first, the laptop worked great for my daughter and I. We probably got on it 2 x’s a week. 2 months and 2 days in it stops running. Save your money for a system that’s worth your tendies.
Oct 14, 2021 14:22I was pretty skeptical buying a laptop for roughly $235 (including sales tax) but was pleasantly surprised. I bought this laptop to using while on vacation. It doesn't have the best CPU, screen or storage but for Office applications, web browsing, etc. this is more than enough. The keyboard is pretty good with a decent amount of travel. It's 100% plastic and the screen is a little low resolution but for $235 it's very difficult to complain. Plus it weighs less than 3 pounds, you can throw it into a backpack and you won't feel it. This is a definite buy for someone looking for a secondary pc.
Jul 20, 2021 15:47Great price and very up to date but for some reason the web browsers run slow. I have a MacBook and it’s very fast on the exact same internet.

Jul 02, 2021 15:45Dell G5 15 Gaming Laptop: With Next Generation AMD Ryzen 5 4600H Mobile Processor with Radeon Graphics, you can revel in powerful performance without interrupting your gaming, streaming, or videos. AMD Radeon RX 5600M graphics allow you to game at higher settings with crystal-clear detail and smooth gameplay.
First off this computer will restart randomly (and this is a known issue with almost all of these computers)… updating drivers and all that jazz does nothing… it WILL happen to you I promise! This was horrendously worse on battery life.. we’re talking minutes!
This computer has so many issue that dell actively keeps making worse and worse… Dell keeps updating the bios that makes the performance worse and worse on this computer… like look at the subreddit for this computer and there literally posts telling people to avoid certain bios updates at all costs… and literal hour long guides on how to set this Pc up to work ok and even then it’ll still randomly restart on you..
Seriously save yourself the headaches and don’t buy this computer.. even below MSRP!
I also had issues updating the AMD drivers and had graphics issues in games.. I’ll post pictures!
Oct 23, 2021 20:12good computer. very enjoyable. function properly. ok
Jul 10, 2021 10:02The Pros: I read several negative reviews about this laptop, but I wanted a full AMD laptop. The system performs exceedingly well in gaming. I averaged 85 FPS in Warzone at max settings.
Cons: For the price, the system should of had more ram and better storage. Storage is very important for a gaming laptop. I believe a 120hz panel would have been a plus as well, but the 60hz panel performs well. The laptop does get hot, but that is common for AMD. The cooling system in the laptop does a good job and isn't terribly loud.
I would recommend adding a second NVME drive for storage and 16gb of 3200mhz ram. You can usually find a god deal on newegg or ebay. I would recommend Gskill ram for the upgrade.
Apr 29, 2021 08:49First gaming laptop so I kind of went more for the specs rather than other things like thermals. Here are the problems you'll see:
1. Thermals are just disgusting. 100 degrees C and above from just some light gaming. Either the laptop will crash and reboot or be throttling hard throughout. Either way, bad for long term. Dell has to release more updates to fix this.
2. There is a nasty stutter. I was able to get rid of it by uninstalling most of the Dell bloatware included.
Other than that, the laptop is zooming if you can take the time to tinker with the thermals. There is a guide for it on the interwebs somewhere.
Aug 25, 2020 23:10I bought this laptop because it was on sale and had some add-on products. Overall I’m pretty pleased with it. It’s a bit clunkier than what I expected but it is my first gaming laptop. I purchased online so I went in not knowing how big it’d be.
The fan is the biggest issue I have with it because it kicks on quickly and can be a bit loud making me feel like it’s going to overheat. 2 months in and it hasn’t.
For reference I’ve only played League on it and it runs well.
Aug 28, 2020 18:51Used it for gaming and software development, ran pretty well. Thermals are a pain, activating high performance mode helps (a lot).
You may or may not face some sound driver issues (the latest driver as of May 3 does not work, you want to manually use the version before).
There's a subreddit dedicated to this line of laptop, they have great tips.
But like the title says, it runs fast, games run smoothly with good graphics, but you'll feel the heat on the keyboard (if you don't activate turbo mode)
Also it comes with bloat, remove all except the Dell software, those are useful.
May 04, 2021 00:55When you purchase this laptop you will need to update the bios first on the dell website. Once you've updated the bios then download the latest drivers. You will need to go to your radeon drivers go to graphics and use GPU 2 if you don't follow these instructions you will have your games freeze or your computer will shutdown due to bugs. The drivers I've listed below.

This is a great laptop for gaming. The display is more crisp than my 2017 Alienware R4. The graphics is pretty close to the 1070 max q and is between the 1660ti and 2060 with updated software 9/17/2020. Its a great laptop for the price. The red keyboard is decent, its not a msi steel series keyboard. It will take some time to adjust. The boot speed is super fast.
Upgrades:
You have an additional SSD M.2 slot on this laptop. I suggest using it for 256gb will go fast while utilizing this for games. You could put a regular SSD in here or a hard drive however you will need to purchase the ribbon for it through dell. You can only use one or the other because they take up the same space as far as upgrades.
I hope this helps its a great laptop just update everything and match your settings to your needs.
Dell: I highly suggest testing laptops better. Im a bit disappointed with the drivers however you did fix it but not everyone is computer literate. I've never had problem with dell before this is a first and I've had MANY dell laptops of all kinds.
This laptop will make you happy. This display is great it bleeds very slightly with dark background but if your playing games or surfing the web you wont even notice it.
Sep 17, 2020 22:05Great laptop. I got my son this and it has no problems playing any of the games he wants to play or run any of the engines he uses to create with. Easy to upgrade ram and storage but will only take a nvme storage. I couldn’t find a way to use his old ssd. Battery also looks to be easily upgraded if you need to. I’m not a huge fan of dell products but this one has been great and all amd.. more bang for the buck. Also, my son hasn’t complained about the bloatwear slowing things down or creating any other types of issues. Overall it’s been a great laptop for what he does with it.

This is not an issue with my laptop so much, but rather with Windows 11. I can't find any of my pictures and my documents all seem to be in One Drive, when I want them on my PC.
I may really love the laptop and Windows 11 once I figure out how it works. Otherwise, I'll ask if I can get my laptop returned to Windows 10.
Oct 22, 2021 17:21Good product i recommended to anyone looking for one
Nov 12, 2021 15:50Easy setup; easy to use; super light. Good connection to wifi works anywhere in the house. Travels well. Loving the computer. Happy with my purchase.
Nov 20, 2021 05:14Super lightweight, trackpad gets clicked if hand sits in the computer, super fast
Sep 18, 2021 14:37Best Buy’s shipping needs improvement. Computer had bubble wrap on one side. That’s it. Hope the computer works, once charged.
Aug 12, 2021 18:00Great, evo intel, windows 11 ready, overpriced except when on sale though.
Aug 13, 2021 23:03I ordered direct from Samsung. 15 in, 16 gb gen11 i7.
Laptop is incredibly fast and the fingerprint sensor works 100 times better than my galaxy s21's. (And I have very light fingerprints that usually require me to breath on my phone to be read!)
I run Think or Swim on an ultrawide 2nd display connected via hdmi while using Discord, multiple web browser windows, twitter, and FoldAtHome on high power without so much as a hiccup.
Fan whir is a bit high pitched for my liking but the laptop is just so light and thin I forgive it (and listed to music with earphones on anyway, so not really an issue.
Beautiful display! Pro Tip: if everything looks overnsaturated/contrast too high, open Samsung Settings and switch to Natural RGB.
Ive had zero issues and actually like the super low profile keyboard.
This is a very snappy, thin, light, handsome laptop!
May 28, 2021 20:11Be careful and watch the bottom of this computer. The one I got from Samsung got warped just by setting it up and installing the windows and Samsung updates.
Never got to really use it.
May 17, 2021 20:06ASUS ROG Zephyrus Ultraportable Gaming Laptop. Enjoy everyday gaming with this ROG notebook PC. The AMD Ryzen 9 processor and 16GB of RAM let you run graphics-heavy games smoothly, while the potent NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 graphics produce high-quality visuals on the fast 14-inch 120hz QHD display. This ASUS notebook PC has 1TD SSD that shortens load times and offers ample storage.
Using this to replace my desktop gaming setup during the graphis card shortage so I can play new releases. So far this has run everything I’ve thrown at it with ease. Absoutely fantastic. Its crazy how powerful this laptop is while being so thin. Battery life has been fantastic and great to use for light task. Gaming plugged in gets you max power just expect it to get a little warm to the touch but nothing major. Would for sure buy again!
Oct 24, 2021 17:53This laptop has been nothing short of amazing incredible speed and power packed into something so small so far no complaints i’m loving this laptop and would totally reccomend to all of my friends looking for a new laptop !!!
Oct 26, 2021 19:53This is the review of the QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution screen model (GA401QM-211.ZG14B), there are more in-depth reviews under the nearly identical FHD 1920 x 1080 resolution screen model (GA401QM-211.ZG14).
I wanted something with a capable graphics card for 3D CAD design and a nice looking screen. The aforementioned FHD model may be better suited for gaming (lesser resolution means less strain on the graphics card during action, plus it has smoother 144Hz refresh rate) but the display model at Best Buy looked very washed out when compared to anything else in the price range. In contrary the QHD 120Hz screen in this particular model is really beautiful.
About the infamous fan noise: it is fine even in the highest turbo setting (available only when the charger is plugged in, on battery mode performance is the highest setting). Yes, it is audible but it’s silky smooth not the rattling type like a window air conditioner or a room fan.
Playing Fortnite in performance mode without battery saver at a vivid 80% screen brightness the battery lasts a bit over an hour and a half. Netflix with same settings runs for about eight hours on a full charge.
The panel gets quite toasty over the rear exhaust vents, I can not endure resting my fingers there for longer than a few seconds… It is more of an observation after reading all the negative press on this subject. The top keys remain perfectly fine temperature wise.
There is no built-in webcam and I’m okay with that. I’d rather use an external one with a physical shutter, wouldn’t risk closing one of those stick-on shutters between the screen and the keyboard.
I find not having an ethernet port a bit more pressing issue, downloading content over wifi takes forever. Like forever-forever. USB-C to ethernet dongles go for around $20, I wish Asus included one.
I was toying with the idea of getting a G15 or M16 instead for the larger screen and built-in ethernet port, however there appeared to be more reviews citing blown pixels and other quality issues compared to the G14.

‘DO THIS before using your new laptop’
Oct 12, 2021 19:19It runs great and love the Rog booting screen. So far I like everything about this laptop except couple things. First of all, this laptop does not have Anime Matrix on it probably with this price we dont get it. So if anyone is expecting Anime Matrix for lid cover LED light animation, please get more expensive one. Second is this WiFi adaptor cannot connect to WiFi 5 right away. So you may have to change properties for network adaptor to 802.11n from 802.11ac. Finally, it is getting pretty hot while using for regular basis and there is a way to turn off some options to prevent less heat. Other than this small beast has more pros than cons.
Oct 21, 2021 11:13Great computer, been running Xbox Game Pass games without issues. But dang the fans are absurd! My desk is in my bedroom and I had it just downloading some games overnight and the fans were so loud they woke me up. I would be alright with it while gaming but thermal issues while just doing basic tasks is a turn off. Tried a bunch of things, checking emails, word, etc and found the fan noise to be a major turnoff.
Nov 05, 2021 22:51I was very excited for this laptop I've been looking at it for a long time. (I recently just returned the rog16 because of keyboard problems and some high-pitched noises coming from the computer.)
This laptop runs the games I play perfectly no lag at all with or without the charger plugged in. I really only play D2R and rogue company.. The computer gets very hot probably due to its small factor because my 7-year-old laptop doesn't get nearly as hot. But the biggest problem I have with this computer is every time I try watching videos I hear a weird speaker noise kind of like somebody blowing into a microphone. It's not all the time but it does happened during most videos. The longer videos they are the more it happens.
Due to that I may return this laptop and not get another Asus product again. So far 2/2 products I bought from them had some kind of issue..
Nov 08, 2021 10:33This laptop will take everything you throw at it with ease. As well as
play high end VR with the oculus quest 1 or 2. Ive tried bone works,
blade and sorcery, half life Alyx and the forest all ran great and looked great. Be sure to put your headset to 120hz and up the bit rate and resolution. I have also tried Horizon zero dawn on steam which also plays great. All and all a great laptop with a lot of power.
Oct 26, 2021 22:23Zephyrus 14 is a good model, It may be the only model that is less than 4lb and has 3060 graphics cards at the same time.
However, what I received was a failed individual.
When I plugged it in for the first time, the charging light and two other indicator lights were on. But the power button does not work at all. The screen did not light up, and there was no ROG shown, totally black. I tried to remove the power cord and plug it in again or other methods many times.
I found information that static electricity may cause this situation. Need to fully discharge the motherboard, which means I have to remove the power cord and battery, and then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. However, Zephyrus's battery is built-in, and I cannot perform these operations.
It finally turned on successfully suddenly and unexpectedly.
In the next week, after I shut it down, there is a half chance that I won't be able to use the power button to power on again in normal way. I have to press and hold the power button for a few seconds to completely power off it in some way, and then turn it on.
After I did some research, some forums offered some experience:
1. Turn off the windows fast boot option
2. Update the latest graphics card driver
3. Update the motherboard driver
However, none of above works.
I wanted to replace for a new one, but best buy does not have this option. In the end, I returned the product, and the FedEx package cost me $8 extra.
I really like this model, but the black screen at startup seems to be very common in forums. I hope the manufacturer will reply me the reason for the black screen, so that I will be confident to buy the same one again, or I will buy another laptop.
