    Great Phones

I’ve had several Panasonic phones over the years but I bought this set for one reason only...I has a call block feature that keeps robocalls from going through. It also has a “block” button on the handset. If as annoying call gets through, just hit the block button...the call is disconnected and the number added to your blocked call list.

    Easy setup, works flawlessly

I just plugged it in per the instructions, logged into Ooma, and within 30 minutes was making a phone call with my new phone number. You get to keep the new number even if you have your existing ported over, which I did. Both numbers work on the phone.

Ooma's support is very good too - I called to confirm the unlimited calling to Canada with the premium plan before purchasing, and they were very helpful. The premium plan including tax is about $14 / month for unlimited US and Canada calling. I am totally satisfied.

Great way to add a home "land-line" phone & number

If you already have broadband internet you simple plug the Ooma device into your router and follow their setup process and that's it. You now have a "land-line" phone at your house that allows you to plug in normal phones. I plugged in my Panasonic base unit that has a wireless handset and 3 additional wireless handsets extensions placed throughout my home.

This unit requires a WIRED connection to your router. Ooma sells a wireless and BT adapter you can plug into base unit if you can't wire it in directly or want base unit in different room.

    Things to take into account.

ITS NOT A COMPLETELY FREE PHONE. You will have to setup an account with Ooma and pay a monthly base fee that includes: 1) Regulatory Compliance Fee; 2) 911 Service fee; 3) Local Interconnect Recovery Fee; 4) State and local taxes, fees and surcharges. ETC. It's a phone. There's always a bunch of fees. :(

All of the above fees vary depending on your zip-code/location. My fees for all the above is $5.11/month. Yours my be a bit more or less but around $4-6/month. You can go to their site and look up your monthly fee.

Ooma has a bunch of extra phone "features" you can add that costs $20/month but they are extras you don't have to pay for.

    Helps Lower Your Cable Bill!

I was looking for ways to trim my cable bill, and wondered if I could get a better deal on phone service. Call me crazy, but I still prefer to have a landline for voice quality and reliability (and for the occasional faxes). Cell reception in my house isn't the greatest, so I prefer the landline when talking to friends/family. The phone portion of my cable bill was $40/month (yikes!). I was familiar with Vonage, but that was still $10/month. After some researching, I came across Ooma. It got good overall reviews, and was one of the top rated services in a leading consumer research magazine. I got my Ooma unit at Best Buy. It was super easy to setup (plug one end into my router and the other into my phone line). Sign up was a breeze, and I was able to get service almost instantaneously. I wanted to port my old phone number, and saw they charged a porting fee. If you signed up for one year of their "plus" service, they waved that fee. I chose this option, since I found a discount code (I can always cancel next year, since I probably won't use the extra features). The porting process took around a week, but I got status notifications along the way. I've been using it for several weeks now and really like the Ooma app on my iPhone. It notifies me whenever I get calls at home, and I can listen to VM from anywhere. There are tons of other features available, but I haven't used them. I've also used Ooma to call family in London "on the cheap". BTW, the only thing you have pay for each month are taxes/utility fees (~$5 for me). I know phone lines aren't that exciting, but this unit shines in helping me trim my utility bill!

    New and improved

This was a replacement to my prior ooma who met it's demise from a lightening strike. This is a vast improvement to the older version. Buttons higher and it's easier to clean. It's super easy to install and if you want a phone to be used at home for cheap this is the way to go. You won't be disappointed.

Good value and over best deal ever !

11/2020 I switched to Verizon FIOS and like many others I cut the cord from Optimum services and took my land line to Ooma. It's called porting your number in order to keep the number you current have. So happy I did. Simply works better too. You can install an app on your iphone or Android cell phone to make, receive, and get voice messages directly from your ported number or simply use the box to connect you personal phone at home. Just realized you will have a one time charge to have your current phone number switched over which is called ported. After that the cost for me per month is 5 bucks and change for taxes and fees for NJ. Best deal ever ;)

    Very nice savings.

About a year ago, I bought an Obi telephone device but found it too complicated to set up. I bought the Ooma so that I could save money by dropping my cable companies phone service. I expected to save about $20 a month. I bought the Ooma, set it up in 5 minutes, and activated the service. I then sent out an E-Mail to friends giving my new phone number. I then contacted the cable company and asked to drop their phone service. Instead of dropping it, they gave me a $40 monthly discount for 12 months to keep it as part of my cable/internet/vice combination plan. As the Ooma only is costing me $4.23 a month, I will keep both services going until next year. The Ooma device was extremely easy to set up and the voice quality is superb. It has a lot of features. The best features are the call blocking of up to 256 phone numbers and a community blacklist so when other people block telemarketers or scam calls, you will automatically have the calls blocked also. The Ooma exceeded my expectations.

    Satisfied and the speaker works

Best Buy is offering me points for completing a review, but this does not affect my rating of this product.

I had to replace my previous Ooma because of an electrical storm knocking out that Ooma.

One note - the previous Ooma that got knocked out had been shipped to me during the pandemic and the speaker on the Ooma never worked. I was never sure if that was because of the Ooma service or the device. The new one - the speaker does work and that is rather cool.

So far - this works as described and expected. Satisfied.

    A Rare Wall-Mounted Cordless Phone

The AT&T - CRL32102 Cordless Phone with Answering System is not perfect but it is probably the best of all the wall-mount cordless phones I researched and (in one case) returned. Many cordless phones claim to be wall-mountable but they use a mount that only works in the Peoples' Republic of Last Wednesday. This was the only one that Best Buy carries that can actually fit on a U.S.-standard wall mount, and the salesman and I went through the packaging of several different models to find this one. Kudos to Best Buy for realizing we had some kind of labelling problem and manually sorting it out. The phone is great except for being unable to adjust a few things such as the annunciator volume. But it may be the only game in town.

AT & T Voice Answering Phone

I purchased this phone because I liked the idea that it called out the name of the person calling. If I'm in the kitchen or any place where I can't see my TV screen I can hear whose calling and know whether or not to pick up the phone. In nowadays, we get so many robo calls. I purchased one for my 86 year old mom too. She mentioned that the #'s of the caller go so fast from the TV screen that she won't pick up the phone unless they leave a message. By hearing the callers name she knows whether or not to pick up the phone. She both are enjoying the phones.

Nice Phone For An Older Person

We bought this phone for my wife's mother who is 87 years old. She likes it and can hear it when it rings a lot better than her old phone. Also, she can press the button to amplify a callers voice and she likes that. I would definitely recommend it for an older person.

Must have device for online meetings during work f

I am a technology manager and spend most of my time on online skpe meetings. With working from home as the new normal for technology folks during this pandemic, I was actively looking for a speakerphone for my home office setup that would take less desk space but would deliver a good audio quality and mimic the office setup for meetings with my team and business folks. This product satisfies all the requirement and was very pleased with the purchase.

This review is based on my testing this product with 2020 Macbook air, Windows 10 and iphone 11 pro.

What is in the box: Travel case, Speakerphone, USB c to USB A charging cable, User manaul.

Anker Ultra Clear Speakerphone design is a square shaped with 6 microphones placed around the edges in a 360 degree array for superior voice pickup and it really works great from anywhere in the room. It reduces echo cancellation and background noise upto 20db so that the other person on the online meeting is not distracted with background noise when working from home where kids tend to disturb sometimes.

Connection is pretty simple. First time setup, just switch it on by holding the power button on the front and if connecting to the Bluetooth, go to settings on your phone or computer, and search for Anker under the Bluetooth to add the device. You can also connect it via USB C to USB C on Macbook to just use it as microphone or a speaker. Drivers are automatically installed and no additional setup is required.

Another great feature that comes very handy when travelling or in conference is to use this device as a powerbank to charge your mobile phone. Just connect your cable to USB A slot in the back and switch the power on, and your mobile phone will get charged. This is because it has a 6700mah battery and will allow you to use the speakerphone option for 24hours straight. So, if you are like me who spend more than 8 hours on online meetings a day, you can charge this device every other day just to make it through all meetings without any issues.

Only caveat is the mute button doesn’t enable the mute button on the skype and you need to enable the mute at both places just to be sure. When mute button on the device is enable the device has a red illumination in the front panel. Controls on the front panel is well laid out with the mute button on the center and phone option on the top, volume up on the right, volume down on the left. There are 2 buttons on the front for power and button connection with 2 led indicator lights.

It does come with a nice zippered, textured hard carrying case for travel.

Overall, very happy with the device and highly recommend for conference calls if you are looking for clear audio communication on your online meetings either using Bluetooth or wired usb.

Quality Portable Speakerphone, Great for Voice

SUMMARY: If you judge it on the merits of being a compact, wireless speakerphone (where you supply the phone) you will be happy with the value and voice quality. But if you are a 'road warrior' buying for the add-ons, a bluetooth speaker to play music, or an external battery charger, that is 'also' a speakerphone, you should read carefully.

    PROS:

    - Decent voice quality for listening/hearing, bordering on great. Clearly better than my iPhone speakers (for voice).

    - Great voice quality microphones. Noticeable improvement over standard headsets or a phone placed down on a table.

    - Digital signal processing that enhances voices and takes away some background noise (yours, not theirs).

    - Great job with it's 6 microphones in a 360 degree circle for picking up people talking all around it. The ring light even indicates which microphone(s) it is using.

    - Decent volume. Easily fills a 10x10 foot room at about 70%. If it's just for me, I have it at 50%.

    - Does not come with a charger. Most of us have enough chargers already (keeps clutter and cost down). It charges by USB-C.

    - Decent battery life (24 hours)

    - Quality Build. Can take a little jostling when traveling.

    - Good status lights. There are 3 which sounds simple, but each one has multiple colors/meaning. The main light is a 'ring' around the function buttons. Sorta cool looking, but recessed so slightly hard to see / interpret. Be ready to keep consulting the manual.

    - Easy to pair with bluetooth. Not as seamless as IOS devices (AirPods) to switch between devices, but can be done by pressing the bluetooth button and reconnecting.

    - Easily connected to my MacBook Pro via USB-C cable. I did have to go into sound preferences the first time.

    - Comes with a decent carrying case for traveling. Would be nice if it had a pocket for a charge cord.

    CONS:

    - Minimal instructions. The ones they have are clear, but light. No description of the App (required), just says download it.

    - No tactile or audio feedback on the top control buttons. They work, you just don't know it. The visual feedback is via the light ring which seemed to lag and didn't persist long (i.e. I had to be looking right at it at the time of operation).

    ON THE FENCE / NITPICKS:

    - NOT a good choice for playing music (admittedly not designed for it). No base.

    - NOT a huge fan of the App (IOS). For one, I don't even like the idea of needing one for a speakerphone. But it's simplistic to the point of not being as useful as it could be, while unfortunately absolutely necessary to get the full benefit out of the device (to get updates and select between single and multiple user). I REALLY don't like that it makes me sign in to an account to use it the first time. Why? What am I creating an account for? Don't know.

    - Power/weight ratio is not the best as an external device charger.

    - The mute button on the top of the device DOES work for phone calls, does NOT seem to work right with Zoom.

    - When plugged into your computer or a power source it stays on, when wireless you need to set the 'auto off' time in the App. In practice I turned off 'auto off', and turned the device on and off manually (shudder) when I needed it.

    EXPANDED REVIEW.

I am not going to repeat every point in my pros/cons section, but go into more detail here on the points I think could use it. I am a gadget person, and have long been a fan of Anker's power supplies and battery packs. They work as advertised, are a quality build, and are a good value. Anker has become a name I trust with my expensive devices. So I was eager to see how their foray into the world of sound was going. I travel a lot for work (or did before COVID) and I am always looking for ways to 1) be more efficient (lighter, smaller) and 2) have back up in case of problems. I have gone though a lot of chargers, battery packs, and even speakers in the quest for the ultimate road warrior's pack. Anker is great for that. And build wise etc, Anker's speakerphone follows their usual quality.

Traditionally when I travel I no longer carry a speakerphone. I did a few times, but ultimately it was difficult to use, only so-so quality, and just not worth the hassle. Now, when I need one I just put my iPhone out on the table. It is okay, but not the best sound (coming or going). And these days with COVID I have a lot more conference calls at home and office with multiple people spaced out, so have need for a real speakerphone again. I was eager to test it in the local environment, but also evaluate it for potential road use, in particular for the 'extras' like playing music or acting as a charger that might have let me leave things out of my pack.

    AS A SPEAKER PHONE.

For all the reasons listed under 'Pros', it is unquestionably better sound (speaker and microphone array) than just a smartphone on a table. And it is good enough that I don't feel the need to buy a more expensive system for my office. It is compact enough that it doesn't take up a lot of room, so it's easy to have out. The controls take some time to master, but once done it's easy to use. Primarily you need to pay more attention to the 'ring' light system and that was new to me. And I like that when I am home, I can unplug it from my computer and carry it around my house to find more relaxing places to sit or share with my family. The 360 degree microphone array is great for picking up all the people in a moderately sized room (10x10). It works as advertised, including the enhanced voice circuity and it does seem to filter out some background noise (but not all). For me, though, there were some extra steps required to use it, the App, turning it on and off, pairing it. More to it than just plopping a phone down in the middle of the table, so the convenience was reasonable just not exceptional.

    BLUETOOTH SPEAKER MUSIC TEST.

Feel free to skip this if you have no interest is playing music on your speakerphone. Or read and let me tell you why you shouldn't. Yes, as you do connect your phone by blue tooth you can use this to play anything your phone can play. But, and I am just going to put this out there, if you read some of the other reviews rave on sound quality you might think (and they suggest) this could double as a general purpose blue tooth speaker to use for music, etc., as well as a speakerphone. I am not an audiophile, but even the manufacturer Anker does NOT recommend it for music, and neither would I. It really has been optimized (think treble and mid range but no base) for voice. So while it feels unfair to test it for music playing, the reviews are out there that suggest it can, so here we go.

When compared to my iPhone 11 Pro Max's speakers, yes it sounded marginally better for music, maybe. Definitely louder. But that's where it ends. My iPad Pro sounded noticeably better, and my MacBook Pro sounded a LOT better (especially in the base). So if I was a road warrior in a hotel, this is NOT the device I would use for music, I would use one of the other devices I already have with me. And for work or home, ditto. I guess if I was out in a Park on a picnic, and for some reason I was carrying around a speakerphone but nothing else I might use it as such. But why would I have it there? Why would I not plan ahead and bring a cheap and lighter but better optimized for music speaker?

    EXTERNAL DEVICE CHARGER.

Taking advantage of their heritage as an external battery charger company, Anker makes this both wireless and an external battery pack by building in a 6700 mAH lithium battery. Again, I see reviews saying that's great for road warriors, cut out carrying that external battery pack. BUT, 6700 mAH is small by today's standards, while that's enough power for 24 hours of talk time (good), it can only recharge a decent sized smartphone maybe 1.5 times (not so good). That's it. Anything else, like an iPad, much less. And obviously, if you use it to recharge your smartphone, you cut into how long you can use it as a speakerphone. It's fairly hefty to carry on a flight which is when I usually want a battery charger (but not a speakerphone). For $20 I can get a much lighter battery charger (4oz versus 12) and not worry about draining my speakerphone (and pack the speakerphone away in my larger easier to carry bag). But yes, if you are back in that Park, don't need a speakerphone, but are lugging one around, and do have a phone to charge, it will do it, and quite well. So to me this is one of those things that sounds good until you think about it.

    BOTTOM LINE.

I am struggling with how to rate this. It really excels in most things associated with being a portable speakerphone and would easily rate it as such five stars (out of five). Also, it is a quality build and a value price, so five there as well. And to be fair, because they are NOT mission critical, I am NOT going to take off points because for me the add-ons just aren't value-add, But yeah, I was disappointed that when I travel it won't replace my portable speaker (Bose) or battery pack (Anker, 20,000 mAH). So instead of eliminating things to carry, this is going to add to it (for me).

I have decided, however, to take off one point (though would prefer to only take off 1/2) for the few nitpicks as a speakerphone that continue to be an irritation for me. I wish there was tactile feedback in the controls. I wish the App was not necessary at all. The ring light is a nice idea, but needs some refinement (possible with software updates). The instructions are clear, but light.

So for me, this is a 4 out of 5. For you, could easily be a 5.

The all important question, is the voice quality worth carrying it with me when I travel? Yes.

    * Six (6) microphones for all-around pickup.

    * Long-life battery.

    * Can charge your phone, too.

    * Works great with Smartphones, Mac & PC.

    Cons:

    * No ability to invoke a Voice Assistant.

    * Light ring is not full visible unless looking directly down on it.

    Review:

The speakerphone function of most modern smartphones is pretty good - especially for something you can carry in your pocket everywhere. It doesn’t work great, though, when you have a few people around you who want to join in on the call. It’s also not that great when trying to use your phone to browse or use apps while talking on its built-in speakerphone.

This Anker PowerConf portable speakerphone doesn’t do anything radically different than your smartphone alone, but it amplifies those things in common and does them much better. When connected to your phone over Bluetooth, the PowerConf’s built-in speaker is loud and clear. There are six evenly spaced microphones around the edge so it can pick up everyone’s voice nice and clearly. In fact, there’s some fancy audio cleanup to ensure that everyone is heard well, too. With two microphone modes, the unit can either determine which of the microphones is you so it can silences the rest, or prioritize whichever microphone has someone speaking nearby and allow the whole group to chime in.

The built-in battery powers it for up to 24 hours which is awesome! In fact, you can even use it as a power bank to charge your phone over a USB cable.

You can also connect it to a Mac or PC with a USB cable and no additional drivers are required. This is great for video calls like Teams or Zoom, but even works better than your computer’s speakers and microphone for plain old voice-over-IP calls. Everyone I spoke with sounded natural and loud enough with the volume at mid-point, and they all said that I sounded clear as well.

On the top of the unit are some capacitive buttons to adjust the volume and mute the microphones, etc. One thing I missed, though, is that most Bluetooth headsets have a way to invoke your voice assistance like Siri. Sadly, the PowerConf doesn’t appear to support that function. “Hey, Siri” did work, but you can’t press-and-hold a button if you want to get her attention without first speaking the attention phrase.

On top there is also a nice ring of light that surrounds the button area and does things like highlight which of the microphones is active or show the volume level. The ring is a bit inset and is best viewed from the top. If you have the unit on a table in front of you and are sitting so that your viewing angle is a little shallow, the far side of the ring of lights is clear but not the near side. That’s a really small issue that won’t prevent you from getting great audio on it.

For ports- there’s USB-C to charge it up, a USB-A for connecting to your Mac/PC or for charging your phone, and an audio out jack for connecting to an even bigger separate speaker, if you want to use this for its microphones only.

Overall, the unit does exactly what it claims; makes an awesome speakerphone that far surpasses the built-in on any smartphone. It also works great for Mac and PCs so you don’t need a headset for great audio. The provided carrying case maintains the unit’s sleek size and shape and makes it effortless to bring the speakerphone with you. Highly recommended.

A Must Have For Any Proper Road Warrior!

I have loved Anker since before they were cool. Seriously, I have been buying their gear since 2012 (and they were only founded in 2011 - I still have that USB/Power hub). They make great gear and I'm happy that Best Buy carries the brand. But you didn't come here to read about my love of Anker the company, but to read about my love of Anker PowerConference Speakerphone, and I do love it.

My job has always been a bit of a Road Warrior one. Even before the pandemic I was doing remote work from home, presentations at conferences, and hosting remote events. Now that I haven't stepped foot in the office for about 4 months now, I have really refined my on-the-go kitbag. The last piece I needed was a good conferencing device that doesn't look like a three armed boomerang (if you've done conferencing before, you know what device I'm talking about), and doesn't take up a bag all on its own. My presentation kit now fits completely in a messenger bag (laptop, presentation remote, projector, and now conferencing speakerphone). It's not exactly light, but it's all in one bag which makes it much easier to wrangle.

So what is so great about the Anker PowerConference? Let me count the ways:

    1. Compact and light with a great hardcase.

    2. Great sound/voice pick-up for a good sized room with people social-distancing.

    3. Very good sound/voice pick-up in outdoor locations, though for a much smaller group.

    4. Outstanding volume and sound from your remote side. You can easily hear everyone and understand them without having to blast the volume.

    5. A cool indicator on top that shows volume level (the blue ring fills up as the volume goes up), plus it shows which of the six microphones is picking up sound. This makes it easy to arrange your speakers/guests to maximize their engagement.

    6. Anker battery/charging tech so you get a ton of time using the device (I haven't even come close to using it for the 24 hours it claims). It can also charge a device attached to it.

    7. Instant and easy connectivity with my iPhone. Turn the PowerConference on, select it in Bluetooth Preferences on your phone, and you are ready to go.

    8. Instant connectivity with my MacBook. Plug in the USB-A to USB-C cord into your computer, set the sound input/output to the Power Conference in the Sound settings under System Preferences and you are ready to rock.

    9. It's solidly built. It adds a little bit of weight but you can tell this thing can handle being used a lot. Even though it comes with such a nice/form-fitting case, you can leave that behind if you want, because this thing can handle the abuse.

    10. Comes with a great 3' Anker USB-A to USB-C cord that is solid.

This thing is pretty much anything I could have asked for and more. I only wish that Anker had done a USB-C to USB-C cable instead of the one included or perhaps give a USB-A to USB-C adaptor. My Mac only has USB-C ports and the PowerConference only charges from the USB-A port so it makes sense for me to use a USB-C to USB-C cable with the PowerConference and then I can use the USB-A port to keep my iPhone charged since I blast through the battery on presentation days. I mean, this is in no way a dealbreaker since I have a USB-C to USB-C cable (from Anker of course), but that would seem to be the best cable to pack in the box nowadays. I have TONS of USB-A to Lightning cables for my iPhone.

If you need an outstanding voice conferencing device or need to make remote meetings a bit more user friendly at social distancing presentations, you can not go wrong with the Anker PowerConference. Every self-respecting road warrior needs one of these.

    Superior Quality!!

The sound on the Anker Speakerphone is amazing! Zoom meetings become more realistic and talking has became a breeze. The system has this bass to it so when people speak its like they are next to you. The numerous set of microphones make everybody hear you in HD.

The Anker speakerphone is a must need for at home schooling and online meetings. I dont know how I survived without because I have got so use now to the room being filled with conversation. The portability I love and the battery last long for me. I recommend this product.

    Amazing all around use.

I want to start by saying the speaker came in a nice package just like the rest of there products.

The speaker looks very nice. It has a two-tone gray . The feel of the speakers very sturdy. It has a darker gray on top and bottom and a light gray that goes around the entire speaker it has a very good weight to it. it’s not heavy it’s not light it’s perfect. Conference speaker pairs very easy and fast To your phone iPad and laptop you can play music from it as well.

Must have accessory for Remote working employees!

I have been using wireless and wired headsets for my office calls while working from home. With COVID pandemic, working from home becoming normal for most of the IT companies. It was really difficult to wear headsets throughout the day for video calls. I was using Jabra 750 for a few weeks and wanted to try with other speakerphones as it has one microphone. I had a great experience with Anker products like power banks, chargers and got Anker PowerConference Bluetooth Speakerphone. This speakerphone exceeded my expectations.

It came with a Travel case, speakerphone, USB C to USB A cable, and user manual. Build quality is solid and it is plug and plug. I have connected the speakerphone with the provided cable to the Belkin docking station connected to MacBook Pro. It recognized the speakerphone without any issues. In order to test the mic and sound quality, I tried with Microsoft teams and zoom calls. Both applications showed Anker PowerConference as the default speaker and microphone. The sound quality for the microphone and speaker was much better than Jabra 750,

Battery life is very good. I am using this microphone for almost 8 hours per day for voice and video calls. It has 6 microphones to capture the voice. DSP Algorithm Enhances voice pickup with real-time echo cancellation, de-reverberation, and ambient noise suppression. It does reduce echo and background noise during calls and everyone is saying my voice is so clear on their end. I have connected my iPhone to attend calls from Anker speakerphone instead of lifting the phone.

I have installed the Anker Soundcore app from the iOS store. There is an option to select a single person or multiple person mode. Omni-Directional Voice Pickup 6 microphones arranged in a 360° array pick up voices Soundcore anywhere in rooms for up to 8 people. Also, firmware can be updated via the Soundcore app as well. This speakerphone has 6700mah battery and can be used without charge for 24 hours. With Anker PowerIDQ technology, phones can be charged from this speakerphone. It comes with 18 months warranty from Anker.

In my organization, I have suggested providing this speakerphone to all employees working remotely instead of headphones. Anker PowerConference Bluetooth Speakerphone is a must-have accessory for remote working employees and exceeded expectations with build, sound, and battery.

I didn't think this would be that good

So I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into with this, but I was impressed. I've only owned cables and battery banks from Anker and they are very well made. I thought well let's see how this speaker is. It's small no bigger than a smartphone with a 5 inch display. Now I'll be honest I didn't intentionally get this for conference calls, but I did try it out and this is very good at what it is meant for. Here's where it got interesting you can literally use it as a portable speaker and its loud. Now I tried this with a few people we called my aunt. The light indicator in the middle would light up on the side where the person who was talking was at. You have 6 mics surrounding the speaker. Everyone sounded clear and I had set it up on the app for multi person mode. You dont need to be close to it for the mic to pick up your voice . We were a decent range from it I'd say 5 feet. Check out the specs online it says up to 5 meters. I do like that you can charge your phone using the usb connection on the back. There is no audio input it's for output only. That is for when the speaker isn't loud enough, you plug it to another more powerful speaker, but this thing is pretty loud for its size. Like I mentioned before I used this more as a portable speaker and it doesn't disappoint I watched my movies/ tv shows and music on this anker PowerConf, Both media formats sounded great. Some people will say it's not loud enough, but I beg to differ and again for this little speaker, it packs a punch in the sound department. So if you have conference calls and need something that's portable get this, because not only will you enjoy those calls . You will enjoy it as a standard portable speaker.

Great phone for the low price. It's easy to set up, and the call quality has been pretty good. Have only had the phone for a couple weeks, but it's done great so far. Love how it automatically synchs up with my cable provider so when someone calls, their name shows up on my TV.

We bought this phone for my wife's mother who is 87 years old. She likes it and can hear it when it rings a lot better than her old phone. Also, she can press the button to amplify a callers voice and she likes that. I would definitely recommend it for an older person.

    Great Phone Service Alternative

The Ooma has allowed me to save so much money on my telephone bill without losing quality. I opted for the cellular service which costs a few bucks more but is well worth it if your internet goes out which was one of our issue when more people were working from home as well as students attending school virtually. Also it offers you a backup to your Internet so you can connect essential items to wifi.

    Great phone system

The main reason to buy this phone system is to get rid of solicitors. It does that just fine. It is a little involved in setting it up, but it is worth it. For years we used Cold Blocker but you have to answer & press the block key or just press the block key. But you still had to pick up the phone and physically block the call. The problem is that solicitors have a way of changing the caller ID, so the process is never ending. With this phone, the screening process either presents allowed calls or blocks them. However, It does not put any calls on the Block List, you have to do that. But why make a Block List, when screening takes care of the call. Worst case is the phone rings once, screening takes place (ask the caller to announce their name and press #), and the call is either allowed or blocked. There is an Allow List so these callers just ring right in- no screening. There is an Allow List for robo calls you want-Dr, pharmacy, etc. And a Speed Dial List. And you can add callers to the allow list when you answer. And I bought it on sale, which is the only way to buy anything if possible.

I purchased this for my Dad. It has nice large buttons which is great for him. I have a different model then this and I like this model because it seems easier to use for him and has speed dial which for some horrible reason mine does not. The Smart call blocking is the best thing since peanut butter:) I tell everyone about it.

The only bad thing with this model is that it only holds 50 names in the directory.. that is totally ridiculous... luckily that was fine for my 89 year old Dad but would not be OK for everyone else..

    Perfect solution

I have been looking for a long time for a phone solution that would allow me to connect my cell phones to a "house phone" so I can ditch the landline. It does that so well. As soon as I walk into the house, they automatically pick up my cell phones and serve as a house-wide extension of my cell phones. It is cool that we can add two cell phones to them.

The call quality when taking a cell phone call through them isn't the greatest but is definitely good enough.

    Solid Equipment

Wanted to get rid of our landline and bought this to pair with my wife's cell phone all the while giving her the convenience of talking on a full size handset (which she prefers) as well as having multiple units located throughout the house. It works well and delivers as advertised! Would have given it 5 stars but the speakerphone is a bit tinny as compared to the almost identical landline-only-Panasonic system we had before this purchase. Other than this minor irritant, it's been a great system so far.

    Liking these, but....

Picked these up to replace my old AT&T phones because I needed an additional handset. I really like the ability to pair my cell phone (we have a landline as well) to the set and choose which handset announces calls from my cell. I really like these phones but my only real complaint is what others have said: the speakerphone is noticeably lower than my AT&T ones. That is the reason I took away a star.

This is a great phone. It has all the important features and works perfectly. I replaced an older model with this phone and there have been several upgrades and changes. Although, it may seem funny to some people, I was happy to find assorted ring tones on this phone which is such a great change from the typical telephone ringer in the past.

Good 2 way radios for home & field

I picked up these radios to stay in contact with my kids while I WFH during these past few months. This has been a great way to stay in touch while still remaining productive. They have good range and clarity and will work around a couple bock radius even with all the obstructions in between. I'm guessing that we get about 1/2 to 1 mile distance as the crow flies in the neighborhood. The range get a little better when you're in more of an open area without all the obstructions. The 35 mile rating would most likely be effective over an open area like water or field. Either way, they are not bad for the price and have some decent features.

    Great for outdoors

I’ve owned many motorola talkabout radios over the years. I like these a lot. So much I bought more because every time I take a friend hunting they never seem to have a radio. We don’t have cell phone service in the mountains and need to communicate. They work great up to a couple miles in the mountains. If I am on a ridge top they do work further away than that. But it all depends on the terrain. We also use them if we have people in multiple vehicles going on road trips as well. They work great for us.

    Nice for emergencies

We went to a amusement park and had no problems using this set. Also used during a 3 hour drive with a 3 car convoy. Ivox hands free is a god send too. Only draw was I had to get a license to use the GMRS channels. 70 bucks for 10 years with the FCC. Great for when your separated from your love one's when cellphone services fail.

    Good but could be great.

So I bought this as a multi functional walkie. My daughter loves to play with them and I also hunt. I needed something rugged for both purposes. This is a very rugged walkie talkie I love the fact it has a flashlight as well as a long range and weather updates. Now the bad part about this walkie talkie is the actual microphone itself. If you press the button to speak it takes a second to pick it up or a second to recognize someone is talking and will miss part of anything you say on the other end. This requires a little patience. This also was my fault but I thought it came with 2 walkie talkie is and it only comes with one.

Even I can use this phone

Nice system for those old farts like me that still have a land line. The remote units are great and we have 3 of them in different rooms and the batteries last a long time on each of them.

The buttons are big enough for my fingers.

I like having the home station to listen to record and playback messages and basically control the whole system. Would have been nice to have a battery backup for memory when there is a power failure, but I can reprogram it is a few minutes to one or two times a year that I have to.

    Telephone blocking

This is my best purchase ever!!!! You have to program you phone with people that you will accept calls from and I put in about 24. If the phone number is not in the directory the phone will screen the caller and ask for them to say their name. If they don't the call will not go thru YEAH!!!! If the say their name you have to press the number one to answer the call. Let's just say after two attempts from some 800 # I have received no more calls YEAH AGAIN. Best phone blocking ever.

This works well and it does the job but it is hard to silence and turn off the voice mail. I have followed the directions but it continues to ring and it is very annoying. I just wanted this as a extra phone during the pandemic due to poor cell service and didn't want all of the extras. There are not many choices out there now a days so this does work well enough.

    Expandable VTech Cordless phone

Most likely one of the few people with a house phone. My Uniden died after a good decade of service. Replaced the upstairs phone with a VTech. I knew I wanted another VTech in the house. Great addition to mancave/office. The reliability and the user interface is my top options on why I went with the VTech. You can get other models in red but with the desktop or wall hanging capability. Nice to free up desk with having this on the wall. Very easy to get connected to Spectrum Voice services. The newer 6.0 frequency with the digital technology is just amazing. Calls are crystal clear. I have had this phone for about 45 days and is a great buy in my mind. Two thumbs up

vtech cordless phone with 2 handsets

I bought a basic model and found I couldn't set it for the answering machine to answer after only 2 rings.. However some of the functions (and I suspect that includes this one) depend on the program used by my landline service. My model does work well with my provider's program in other ways. I especially like the way it allows me to block calls. Most importantly I chose vtech because i was happy with my old vtech that I'd had for years and so decided to stay with the brand. Before buying my old vtech I'd gone through several similar cordless sets put out by other companies but that didn't last more than 2-3 years.

    A Good Basic Phone

There's nothing real special about this phone, but it's good for basic use. We've gone through a number of them over the years, as it's usually cheaper to just get a new phone rather than buy a new battery for it. One feature it does have is a button on the bottom-left for speaker phone, so you can talk from a little bit of a distance.

This model has always been available in three different colors: sliver, red, and blue (we most recently got the red). It's nice that it comes in different colors, because we have two, so we can have two different colors and won't get mixed up about which receiver actually belongs to which base.

One thing to note; if your phone provider set up a special kind of phone jack device to to connect the phone to the wall, you may need to use the wall-jack cord that they initially provided, and not the one that came with this phone.

The digital answering machine worked as expected. Easy to set up. Easy to use. Sound quality could be a little better, but for the very low price the sound was adequate. Playing messages back at lower volume helps the sound quality. Messages left from land lines appeared to sound better than messages from cell phones.

I ordered the AT&T 1740 Digital Answering Machine to replace the Model 1710 that I had used for many, many years. I think the old one was fried by a power surge or something and died. I find the 1740 to be a reliable machine, clear sound, and gives date and time whereas my old one didn’t. It also doesn’t leave a blank space when robocalls come in, that I later have to delete.

I did not want a machine attached to a phone nor one that was programmed to perform tasks I absolutely never want.

Nice quality phones. Have only used them for a week for my father.

Easy to read displays, esp the base station. Clear voice, works great with my older Moto Z phone. Love the talking caller id, text alerts, and call block. Only downsides are, elderly father cannot understand the talking caller ID words, and it's not Loud enough in the ear pieces...volume is not as loud as my older Panny cordless phones. Speaker phone could be a little louder also, but it's ok that's what he uses.

corded part has battery backup for power outages

Had to purchase this last minute since a storm took out our prior phone. The prior one was Panasonic and it was good for 10 years so I chose this one --and it was in stock at the store. I wish the store had had the 3 handset model. I've been reading the book while the handsets charge, and notice that there is a range extender available to buy as an option. We live in an old house with dead spots, and may look into the extender.

Most of the set up is fairly intuitive. I wish there was an index in the booklet, lots of excess stuff regarding including cell phones and blue tooth which we won't use, but if you are so inclined it is there.

    continues to be great product

I'm a fan of Panasonic phones -- it was time to replace the set we bought 15 years ago, which really could have kept working, but we wanted something to make the robocalls manageable. So looked for something more up to date in the same line. Still running things through the paces, but everything works just as well as we expected, so glad to have a stuck with this product line.

    Good overall package

Good phone package if you need a landline. This package offers the convenience of having two wireless phones, but also a wired handset on the main console which is great for never running out of battery power on a call.

    Great phone, must have

I bought this to replace an an older Panasonic home phone system. Nothing was wrong with it, but I simply needed the automatic call blocking feature.

We've had our home phone number for more than 30 years and it feels like it's on about every robo-call machine out there. We were getting at least 4-6 robo/telemarketing calls a day at all hours. Not wanting to change our number, I figured I'd give this phone system a try.

It automatically blocks all of these calls and I couldn't be happier. All the other features work as well as they should and the phone looks pretty cool too. I wish the "Talk" and "End" buttons lit up, most of the other buttons do, but you know where they are so it's not a big issue. Nearly $100 bucks after taxes is a lot for a home phone that we don't use that much, but to keep telemarketers off the line, it's definitely worth it. There are cheaper options, other brands, that offer the automatic call blocking, but I've had good experience with Panasonic and will continue to buy their products.

A final solution to blocking robo calls

If you've used Panasonic phones in the past, set up is pretty much intuitive. However, the instructions can be a bit confusing. It's pretty easy to block an unwanted call as soon as you get one. However, if you only want to receive approved calls be aware that some numbers you may want to receive might be blocked. It's easy to list the numbers of friends and family, but what about your doctor, dentist, school, auto mechanic, etc.? Their calls may not go through unless you go through the procedure of giving those people a special code. I prefer to hit the Block button as soon as I get an unwanted robo call. So far it's been pretty quiet here.

    Great Panasonic Phone System

Got this new KX-TGE633M phone with answering system. We had an earlier model for a number of years and liked it. This one was easy to hook up, and input the phone book, which automatically transferred to to the other two headsets. The new batteries are much better than the older model special one. The The phone, answering system, talking caller ID, and call waiting are working very fine. Very satisfied, and would recommend it to others.

Always get Panasonic phones as I like the talking caller ID.

    Great cordless phone system

This has been a fine addition to our home phone system. We have it hooked up to our Consumer Cellular wireless base, and now have our old land line phones replaced through our cell plan.

The three phones share a phone book and messaging seamlessly.

Although not mentioned in the product description, they do announce incoming call numbers (or name if the number is in your directory). There is also an intercom feature.

We've only had it in use a month, but so far so good.

    Blue display

I just bought this phone. I needed a wall phone with one extension. My last phone was an At&t model and worked quite well for 10 years. This phone is a very cheap version of the older model which is no longer available. The display is very poor. It has a blue backlight which makes it hard to read and the letters for the names and numbers are small and hard to read. I am really surprised that no one mentioned this poor aspect of the display. Unfortunately, the selection of wall phones is very limited. If I could find a better one, I would return this one.

The only thing odd was the ringers don't play together, ( have 1 in the living room and the other at end of the room at a desk) Was easy to fix, just turned the ringer off on one phone as can hear other from across the room. These are pricey but have the ability to send text messages like a micro cell tower. They also work with some older model Motorola’s. Buy only if you want to play with them since they have little practical use inner city. I have noticed very little to no interference but I chalk that up to very few people using the public frequency. To check if they work with older models you should do some research on frequencies that are available to the public.

    Fantastic

These were purchased for a kayak fishing trip down in the Gulf. Worked extremely well. The "clip" on the back is a little strange in the sense you have to pull it away from the radio and slide it in, instead of having an internal spring that hold the clip on. Battery life was also great on these and held up on over 7 hours on the water.

Only con I would say is that these are a bit pricy.

I find the 1740 to be a reliable machine, clear sound, and gives date and time whereas my old one didn’t. It also doesn’t leave a blank space when robocalls come in, that I later have to delete.

    Works fine

I purchased the AT&T 2 line phone to run a small home business. I needed a phone with the headset capability directly from the phone. After reviewing many other phones, I found this one to be the best for the intended use. It's not the best but serves it's purpose as a basic corded phone line with headset capability.

    It works just fine

    1) There is no message waiting indicator other than a busy sound when you pick up the receiver.

    2) When you're on a call and you get another call, the screen does not light making it impossible to view who's calling.

    3) Programming is extremely easy.

Not compatible with Vtech Cordless Headset

This is a fine product. However, it is not compatible with the Vtech IS6200 DECT 6.0 Accessory Cordless Headset I purchased online at the same time, 03/25/2020.

I purchased the VTech Wireless Headset Silver because it was displayed with the AT&T AT ML17929 Corded Phone and described as an item often purchased with the corded phone. However, this particular phone does not have built-in the wireless capability this particular headset requires.

Because I am teleworking and using the phone to answer dozens of call per day that have been routed to it from Seattle Housing Authority's main telephone switchboard, I really need to swap this phone out for one that supports this wireless headset. But, COVID-19 restrictions are making that a difficult proposition.

Phones work great. The only thing odd was the ringers don't play together, ( have 1 in the living room and the other at end of the room at a desk) Was easy to fix, just turned the ringer off on one phone as can hear other from across the room. Glad to find this AT&T set up, was difficult at first to find something that had just 2 phones. Happy with purchase

AT&T Smart Call Blocker stops all unwanted calls.

Great device for stopping all robo calls, telemarketers, charity/political calls, and scammers. Best on market. Can say same for customer service at Summerville Best Buy store. Management at headquarters has cut staffing so far there is almost no one to help. I have to ask 2 or 3 times before I get help. This is how all big box stores go out of business. Not customer oriented at all. Not just this store either.

Is really more phone than I needed

Has many more features than I needed (example multiple lines). But this is what the salesman suggested for my us. Lot of reading the manual AND having to call the AT&T help line to understand some features of the phone. Was happy that the help line was actually very helpful. I was not happy at all that the Best Buy salesman persuaded me to pay additional money to purchase a 2 year warrant as he said that if I did not - I would not have nay warranty. Once I got home and read the instructions, I found the phone has a 1 year warranty. So I wasted money.

Good for those with hearing or visual impairments

The phone is helpful as the numbers are large and the Boost button amplifies sound. White on black makes the numbers easy to see.

The only issue is that the phone uses digital tech to access the directory, remove messages or the call log, etc. Elderly people who need the phone find this way too complicated especially if they are not tech savvy. Still the phone is a good choice if someone else helps and does the tech part.

If you are looking for a phone that only has one extension, this is a good purchase. The system comes with one phone at the base and an extension phone that can used elsewhere in the home. The extension phone plugs into a remote base that plugs into an electrical outlet to keep the phone charged when not in use. The phone has good a range as I've been outside the house using it several times with no loss of connection.

    Nice phone for the money

I really want to rate this 3-3/4 stars. A decent phone for a very nice price. I just needed to have a cordless phone with answering system. Does just that.

It can also do call blocking, as well as coordinate a cell phone to also ring. Neither of these features were of interest to me especially since directions looked too complicated to set up these functions. Might try them later after I’m more accustomed to the phone.

Set up: Fairly easy though I have to say the instructions aren’t always the best, but tech written instructions tend to be like this.

Sound: good sound on the phones.

Handset display: good...able to see functions, numbers, etc very clearly. Large numbers on keys are great.

Ringers: I wish the ringing was louder on the handsets. I have a hearing loss and without my hearing aids I don’t hear the hand sets as easily as I did with my older AT&T phone.

Complaints: The handsets delay ringing. The base rings before it shows on the handset. Very annoying since I have the system set for 5 rings but only 4 actually ring on the handset. Overall I feel as if the response to rings and other functions seems to have a slight delay which is unusual for a digital product. Speaker function could also be louder as could the message playback.

Directory: I had an older AT&T phone that was easier to enter numbers and to retrieve numbers. But directory in this model holds many more numbers which is a real plus. Accessing the directory takes an additional step of hitting directory key and then entering a letter so you go to the right spot. My older phone was easier sorry to say.

I am a senior citizen and was tasked with setting up this landline phone, since I do the setting up of cell phones. The description on this phone looked and sounded ideal. It seemed to do everything imaginable so I ordered it.

Little did I know a degree in programming was needed to set up the features on this phone. It was totally beyond my capabilities to program it. I called the AT&T customer service center which took me many calls to finally get a person and that person was unable to help me.

The only choice I had left was to return the phone which I did.

We love this phone. It is the best we have ever owned. Yes, we are one of the few who still have a landline but I would definitely recommend this phone as a choice to everyone.

    Great Phones

I love these phones. They have a built in answering system that I don't need (easily disabled). Range is great - all around the house, and also covers the front and back yard. Built in speaker is loud, and allows whole family input during this COVID event.

10/10 rating for its overall awesomeness

Live in a roughly 9000 sq ft home. This handset easily gets a 10/10 rating for its overall awesomeness. Excellent reception & clarity throughout the whole house & even outside on the deck & pool area. Had initially bought a Panasonic phone which I quickly returned due to terrible sound clarity & outrageously poor reception. My first time using a VTech handset which makes me wonder why I had been buying those terrible Panasonic handsets.

Not as good as the ATT&T phones that I replaced

I bought these because I found out that Vtech built the ATT&T phones that I'd used previously. However there are some differences! When I first used the phones they kept disconnecting after EXACTLY 15 minutes. I never did figure out what I did but that ceased after the first week. Then I realized that there was no way to change the receiver volume. Another annoyance! The way that the call database is managed has more levels than the previous ATT&T phone system I had - just a lot more keyclicks to do the same basic functions. I'd really just have what my old ATT&T had plus the call blocking function. However - be aware that the spammers are also adapting and keep changing their caller ID numbers.

    Great handset charge longevity!

I don't use the automatic block option, so I can't comment on that. The range for the phone is quite far, although if leaving a handset at a good distance from the base, it is a good idea to either exchange it or bring it close to the bar every few days to reaffirm the connection. I am thrilled with the longevity of the charge on the handsets! They last for days for me on a charge. I am a bit frustrated that I've yet to figure out how to view a scrolling list of the last numbers that I dialed, but that is a mild inconvenience. Overall I am glad that I chose this model.

    landline option

For your landline committed customers, this combo is a great option. Only rating "good" at this point b/c we haven't explored all of the options with this equipment--which appear to include programming/syncing one or two cell phones into landline "ringing" and reception. This will require that we read the manual!!! AAARGH.

Overall, v good value for price. "Mother" phone (messages) plus three handsets cover our 2500 sq foot home.

    Great phone

I really like this phone. Good quality construction, in other words it doesn't feel cheap. So, I feel like its worth the extra money. The main base is well made and so far seems easy to learn the ends and outs of programming it. No complicated installation either, just plug it in and go, well make sure you charge it first. Very clear reception no matter what part of the house you're in. And I really like the speaker phone sound. Really clear. Best phone for the money In my opinion.

    Dog rescue

I bought these originally for our family when we might go camping. We never really had a chance to use them. This past weekend, our dog was lost on a mountain and we used this to coordinate with each other. We did not have cell phone service, so it was really helpful to have. Range was great! Good quality! Easy to use!

The one thing to be careful about is attaching it to your waistband. We lost one because we were navigating really thick brush and it was attached to the waistband using the clip provided. You may want to attach it through a belt loop.

    Great little radios for traveling

We used these radios to travel as a group together up in the backwoods of Minnesota and Ontario. I have no idea how the manufacturers can say that it's a 26 mile range, after about a mile on the interstate and backroads that was about it for range. When not traveling at highway speeds and on the lake it had a range of about 2 1/2 miles. they worked well within those smaller areas but once you got out past a mile or so it was pretty broken up. If you were going to use them with scouts and they stayed within a mile of the camp, it would be fine, anything outside of that range, you need better communication tools.

    X-Talker Radio

I like the radio size. Communication was good. What I did not like was the battery. The radio says the battery was full, then a few minutes later the radio was indicating it had a low battery. Also charging the radio took a long time. Charged for a few hours and the radio did not last 30 minutes the next day. I guess you have to charge the radio the whole night to fully charge the battery.

    Solid pair of walkie talkies

Solid value for the price. I just needed a basic set of walkie talkie so I could communicate with different departments around a nonprofit radio station during a fundraiser. The audio was clear and it performed like I needed it to. The only downside is that I couldn't turn the volume down quietly - it beeps loudly when turning the volume up or down - but not a huge deal.

Great phone for young ones learning how to read

My young nieces and nephews are just learning to read numbers and the alphabet. The next step is teaching them to use the telephone. This simple corded version is a perfect choice. It doesn't have additional features that may confuse them. It is working out just fine. The sales representative was the one who made this selection. I told him what I needed, a "no frills phone," and he told me he had just what I wanted.

I was astonished that even with the ageing of America there were no more than a very small handful of simple phones out there. Most had a bunch of useless tiny buttons that older folks or those with arthritis could use. This was a great find and my mom is again happily chatting with her great grandkids.

It is a great phone for visually impaired

I shopped several places looking for a phone for my visually impaired aunt and finally found this one online at Best Buys. My aunt loves it. She said the numbers are big and they are bigger than any phone I shopped for and I shopped at Target, Meijer, Walmart and K-Mart. The only improvement I would make is to make the numbers black. It is not necessary but it would make the product even better.

    Great phone for sight impaired.

My mom's sight is getting close to blind. Trying to use the phone was extremely frustrating for her until I found this phone on line. It's great because she can feel up to the top of the phone and press the 1st key to call my brother who lives close by. I made the first two keys his home phone and cell phone and the 3rd "911". Then I put the rest of the kids in order of family position "memo + 1" There's 10 2-touch memory numbers.

For our purposes, Black numbers would have been easier for Mom to see. I went over numbers with a black marking pen. The "memo" key is smaller and in the second position ... to make that a little easier to see, I used a red marker to color the key.

My mom is delighted that she can now call out. I highly recommend this phone. Easy to use, easy to program, good quality. I think they should stock it in the stores.

    Great home phone!

These phones are awesome! I love the call block system included on the phones. We don’t get all those telemarketing calls. Worth the purchase. Thanks

    Great radios -- USB charging!!!

These are great radios. However, that is not what makes them rather unique. They are chargeable via USB! There are micro-USB ports on the sides, and it also comes with a cradle featuring a micro-USB jack, and can hold and charge both radios at the same time.

The only other company doing this is Cobra, but they have apparently discontinued all of their GMRS products... Take that for what it is worth.

These radios feature all of the usual stuff that you would expect in a higher-end model: decent amount of power, the full 21 channels, coded squelch, and NOAA weather receive.

One thing to note is that this model ONLY has 21 channels, as that is all that you can have by LAW. Channels 22 and up are just a repeat of the other channels and up, but with preset coded squelch: in other words, a useless marketing gimmick. Also keep in mind that the FRS-only frequencies are limited to 1/2 watt by law, and the manual does not go out of its way to tell you this.

    Meh, Good for car walkie-talkies

I was not super impressed with these. I realized before-hand that it would not really be 38 mile range regardless of obstructions. We mostly use them for having multiple cars on vacation and staying in contact with each other even without having cell phone range. I found that even one mile away it completely lost contact. We were in a canyon up in Logan and we couldn't hear each other at ALL until we were about 100 yards away from each other. Seriously.... not even longer than a football field away. I figured it might be the trees or something, because that was the only thing between us, not canyon walls or anything like that. Just trees..... When we drove home, we separated and tested this theory from a couple hundred yards away, and we lost signal from about the same distance on OPEN ROAD. These are not all what they are cracked out to be.... I mean, the 20 dollar set was just as good, but the battery life was garbage. So... if you are using them just for keeping in contact with cars within line-of-site, they work great. Don't expect much more from them. I expected a little better range with them being as pricey as they were.

Not for repeaters, adtnl 14 channels priv offset

Don't buy these to use with a GMRS repeater. These are decent radios if you want just a quick fix for something at the house or on the farm but if you plan on going hiking with these anywhere near a GMRS repeater they will not work. I was hoping that the additional channels were used for repeater offsets but I was wrong. They're simply standard channels with privacy code offsets. Seeing how you can set privacy codes on every other channel it seems sort of pointless to do this unless you want to make it seem like there are actually more channels than what's actually available.

FRS radios operate on 22 different, standard frequencies, GMRS operates on 8 additional frequencies for repeater purposes as well as allowing you to transmit at higher powers with the propper FCC license. While the packaging and labeling say "GMRS" it is misleading because you're only functioning on FRS. If you go out and buy a second set of GMRS radios that aren't midland's preset channels you're going to have a bad time and these will only be able to communicate with them in simplex on the first 22 channels.

These have worked very well in hilly WV country. I can't say hiw far they'll work in the woods as I only needed them to stay in contact a mile away.

I've also used them to communicate with my spotter when reversing a travel trailer.

The only reason I docked a star is because they run out of charge faster than I expected.

Overall, I'm happy with the purchase.

It is not the easiest system to use, the Uniden that I had before was much more simple to use. However, it does do the job but there are several times do I have to look at the instructions to do what needs to be done. The writing on the main control that covers volume and directory is very very small.

Recommend AT&T Set of 4 Phones

I gave the product 4 stars because we have had the phone set for less than one month and have not used all features. AT&T is typically a very good product for a phone system and so far, we are very happy with the phones and have not had a problem. (We initially purchased a VTech set of four phones but returned it as it was poorly made....very light weight cradle for each phone which tipped over vs standing in cradle and the answering machine unit was very small and also not at all well made or "substantial" .) Recommend purchase of the AT&T set....sturdy and well made. Bonnie

    Major Nuisance Called Bomb

I love the call block capability of this phone system If a number isn't in my directory, the called is asked to give name/phone number before it will ring through. Nuisance callers, of course, don't go through the hassle, thus cutting down such calls completely! Only problem is if I don't have my directory up to date which may annoy some friends. Some of the directions that come with the system are way over-simplified which makes them unnecessarily complicated. Takes time to program which is not for the faint-hearted.

A Good Set for the Money

Bought this to replace a unit my cat broke. Honestly, I liked my old one better. It had hard, highly-responsive keys, belt clips on the handsets and an intercom key. This one has stiffer, rubbery keys you have to bear down on more when dialing, no belt clips and you have to cycle through a few options in the menu to use the intercom. Also, my corded phone in the kitchen will ring first, then this system picks it up, so there is a one-ring delay, which is odd. Still, we have adapted to the differences fine and it has proven to be a good, cost-effective replacement wireless system, so we’re happy with it. I have not tried the Blie Tooth connection to my iPhone, as it’s just kind of redundant when I have a handset on each floor. Maybe if I one day decide to finally cut the copper I’ll try it….

    Great Audio Quality and Features

Its kind of a cool feature this system will connect to your mobile phone and you can use it like a home phone AND you can connect it to BOTH your mobile via bluetooth and a hardwired phone.

Funny in 2020 I felt the need to go back to a hardwired phone for quality of the call - but awesome at in my house the cordless phone is connected to my wireless phone too.

Lots of great call screening features too. I have it set up some ONLY inbound calls it will receive from the landline is direct family member numbers - otherwise it will NEVER even ring. = #AWESOME!!!!

    Just what I need.

I work from home. The batteries for my old Uniden would not hold a charge and could not be replaced. I needed a new phone right away. I ordered on line and picked up at the local store. The new phone has a fourth handset that lives on my kitchen table where I work. I gave a 4/5 stars because I did not yet fully explore the new phones capabilities. I was in a hurry.

    AT&T phone

It is not the easiest system to use, the Uniden that I had before was much more simple to use. However, it does do the job but there are several times do I have to look at the instructions to do what needs to be done. The writing on the main control that covers volume and directory is very very small.

    Great Phones Great Value

Good sound.. nice volume control. Stay charged a long time. Has caller ID..directory..call block..we get far less junk calls and robo calls on this phone than we did before. They also have pretty blue lights and are easy to hold. Love the speaker phone function. It’s great for long calls and the sound is very good. All in all this trio of phones is a great value for the price,
