    Really Good Vocal Mic

This is my first Shure mic and I really like it. I have a pretty good mixer so I didn’t want the USB version. I wanted to get a Shure and it’s cool they released an XLR only version for those who didn’t want USB. I wanted a dynamic mic meant for voice and this fits. Everyone says this mic requires way less gain but on my setup it still requires a decent amount. I like this because it’s smaller than my previous condenser mic. It looks smaller in person than in pictures and video. I like how this mic reacts to my mixer knob adjustments. It holds the vocal clarity really well through different compression and eq adjustments. I like how this mic is a front address mic where I speak onto the end of it instead of positioning my previous condenser mic on the side. The yoke design is really nice looking. The XLR port on the back adds some length to the whole thing but someone could use a right angle XLR adapter if they wanted. Overall I like this mic.

    Quick and easy to setup

Process: connected to phone via Bluetooth, set channel on FM Transmitter, started music on phone and auditory perfection ensued. The sound quality is great for short radius fm transmission. The long adjustable neck is perfect for keeping it accessible even when cup holders are extended forcing odd angles. The Microphone on the transmitter works surprisingly well. Call recipients can hear me just fine and I can hear them well. Overall I am impressed with this transmitter, and would highly recommend it for both quality and price.

    Great!

A very sleek design and easy to use. It has great sound when you find a clear channel. The only real improvement for me would have been to get one with automatic search for an open frequency. It was a little tedious manually search during a cross country drive. When I'm home, I just set it and forget it. It pairs quickly every time. The vanity lights are a nice plus as well and they can be turned off if you like incognito approach

    works great

I had a previous transmitter gadget that I used that was much more expensive that required you to switch channels often and was a pain while driving. I am much more satisfied with this device as I never used one before. When I first plugged it in, a channel appeared on its screen, so that's what I switched to "ONCE." All I have to do is be sure my bluetooth is on thru my phone settings for it to connect automatically. I am quite pleased!

Amazing dynamic mic with minor cons

After upgrading from my Yeti to the MV7, the difference is day-and-night. The USB sound alone is phenomenal. Even so, I bit the bullet and purchased a Scarlett Solo interface to compliment the MV7 - it was worth every dime.

If you're like me and you're wanting an upgrade from a sensitive condenser mic, the MV7 is perfect. If you're a content creator, gamer, podcaster, streamer or do voice overs, I'd dare call the MV7 perfect. It feels and sounds premium, which nearly justifies its price tag.

However, it's not all rainbows and sunshine. For some reason, the MV7 uses a micro-USB connection, and includes both USB-A and USB-C conversion cables to connect to a device. It's almost an insult that it includes a micro-USB to USB-C cable - an acknowledgement of today's USB standards as Shure proceeds to use micro-USB nonetheless. It's a fragile, dated and inconvenient way of connecting devices.

Moreover, the MV7 has a touch panel to modify gain & volume settings. The touch panel can be extremely finicky and awkward to reach. It feels like more of a gimmick than anything. After giving the touch panel a chance, I disabled it and have stuck to the software alternative. The MV7 could've been more affordable had Shure dropped the touch panel and went with solid analog controls.

Micro-USB connections and touch panels aside, it's a fantastic mic! I'll give it 5 stars because it works well for my needs. If there were ten stars, I'd give it a 9/10, docking a star due to the micro-USB connection and unnecessary (although ambitious) touch panel

Perfect for Podcasts, Conferences, and Recordings

Since working from home for over a year now due to COVID, I've invested in better quality gear for my home office. I've also started creating content for LinkedIn, YouTube, and other platforms. So I needed to get a microphone that could work as a desktop microphone, but I also wanted something that was able to plug into a sound board via an XLR cable because I might end up picking up one down the road - so I wanted a "future proof" microphone.

A buddy of mine who also hosts his own podcast series recommended the Shure brand because that's what he uses, so when I saw that Shure had the MV7 that could connect via XLR or USB, I picked it up. The MV7 also features capacitive touch controls on the device for gain level and muting. There's also an AUX port available for connecting headphone to monitor the sound quality.

The microphone itself is designed to be attached to either a tripod stand, or a boom-type arm. Right now, I'm using a stand for it on my desktop until I find an arm that I like. It's important to note that the MV7 does not come with a stand on it's own - so make sure you have one ready to go or plan to get one before using it.

As far as cables, it's nice because the MV7 comes with 2 cables: a MicroUSB-to-USB-A and a MicroUSB-to-USB-C for connecting to a computer. I was pleasantly surprised because it's been my experience that most devices like this come with one type of cable and it's on you to figure out how to connect it.

The sound quality of the microphone is excellent. I've had people on Zoom and Teams calls remark how much clearer I sound versus using the built-in microphone on my laptop. I've recorded audio segments, speaking naturally and I've been impressed with how well they sound and how much background / white noise is reduced or eliminated.

The MV7 also has some accompanying desktop software to adjust the sound quality, but I found that I could leave it on the auto settings, you can see those in the images I uploaded. I really like the Shure MV7, it feels solid from a build quality perspective, can connect to Mac / PC or mixing board, and is also small enough that you can take it on the go if needed.

    Crisp sound

This is my first shure mic. It was an easy plug and play to my Microsoft 10 usb. Nothing to download. Joined a zoom and picked this mix for sound.

Cons: you will need a mic mount or you can hold it. You will need to be 2” or less away from the mic for the best sound. That’s close if you don’t want the mic in the picture.

Pros: the sound is perfect. The install is seemless.

    Terrific Microphone

I always think it’s helpful to explain why/how I use a particular product to help explain my perspective. I’m a legal professional who conducts a lot of business over Zoom, and I create Presentations and videos used as exhibits. These tasks require me to have great sound. So while I’m not recording music or creating a podcast, I still rely on high end audio products (and other things) to create high end material. With that being said, the Shure microphone has been a significant upgrade to the microphone built into my Logitech webcam. I’m no audio engineer or otherwise audio professional so keep that in mind. I’m generally speaking to those like me with limited to no knowledge in microphones.

    IN THE BOX

You will find the microphone, a mini-USB to USB-A cable as well as a mini-USB to USB-C cable. What it doesn’t have, and this is important to first time microphone buyers, is a stand. It does have an XLR output for those who want to record in analog.

    SETUP

In terms of plugging it into your computer, it’s straightforward. (I don’t have the necessary equipment to use the XLR output, so I’m not mentioning it here). Your computer should recognize it immediately. You can visit the Shure website to download their MOTIV software, which gives you “advanced” controls.

The more important thing to remember in the setup, is that you’ll need either a table/desk stand or boom arm. I actually went with a boom arm because I don’t use my microphone everyday and the arm keeps it at the ready, but also out of the way. And I kind of like having it on my desk for the aesthetics. You can purchase either option at Shure, or Amazon. The stand or boom arm isn’t expensive.

There is also a headphone output. For those that don’t know, you can plug in a set of headphones so you can hear yourself talk (as well as the background audio, i.e. hearing someone else talk on a Zoom call). That allows you to know how loud, or how clear, your voice is or isn’t.

    CONTROLS

The controls are touch sensitive. I’m not a huge fan, but they certainly work fine. I just like the tactics of physical buttons. But that’s an extremely minor issue. Once the microphone is tuned, via the Shure desktop software or otherwise, there’s really not a reason to use them other than mute. But the controls are volume and gain. You have to hit a microphone/headphone button to toggle between which setting the slider controls. Other than that, there’s no other buttons. (which isn’t a bad thing, this microphone looks slick and professional).

    DESKTOP SOFTWARE

The Shure software itself is pretty bare bones. It’s software that runs in the background. It has natural presets like mic position (near or far), adjusting the monitoring mix (whether your voice or the playback sounds is louder in your headphones) and dark natural or bright tones. There’s also manual settings, but there’s not much there to control. There is a mic gain slider, EQs, limiter toggle button and compressor buttons. Frankly, for me, a newbie to professional microphones, these settings didn’t matter to me (at least not yet).

    PERFORMANCE

As I mentioned before, I’m a legal professional. Court hearings, calls with clients, etc. have all been held over Zoom. My ability to be heard and sound great is a priority. This microphone fits the bill. I’ve literally gotten compliments about how well I sound. That’s a testament to this microphone. I’ve also used it to record narrations for legal videos. I went from sounding like I was recording a voice with the wind blowing to documentary level sound (I’m speaking in relative terms here, I’m by no means a documentary film maker).

    EDITING

I’ve used Audacity to narrate over background music. I’ve also used this microphone to record narrations directly into Adobe Premiere, with the latter being my preferred choice to ease of use. But using this microphone was dead simple with Audacity. My only concern was that when I plugged the microphone in, after Audacity was opened. It didn’t seem to recognize it. But once I restarted the application it worked every time. It’s not been an issue since, since I leave it plugged in the whole time.

    CONCLUSION

If you care about the quality of your virtual conference calls or have ambitions to create your own podcast (or narrate stories), this Shure microphone should be high on your list. The microphone itself is built extremely well, it has the flexibility of having an XLR output (in case you either have or later upgrade to a mixing board) and sounds fantastic. I highly recommend it if you’re in the market for a new computer microphone. It will greatly enhance your presentations/talks/conversations, etc.

    Legendary Dynamic USB Microphone

The Shure MV7 Dynamic Cardioid USB Microphone is well designed with a lot of great features discussed below.

    Pros:

*Sleek quality design - The microphone is well made and looks great. It is attached to a yoke and ready to go out of the box. Simply attach it to a microphone mount of your choice and plug in the USB or connect a XLR cable to use a mixer/audio interface.

    * Voice isolation technology - The microphone is able to isolate the users voice so speech is crisp/clear while rejecting unwanted background noise. This is one of the main benefits of upgrading to a dynamic microphone over a condenser microphone. I have received many compliments from those who have listened to recordings using this microphone or heard me talk on Discord. Shure did a great job making the MV7 a top contender in its class/price range. The MV7 is designed for the individual looking to take the jump into the tier of professional level home microphones while maintaining an affordable price point.

    * USB and XLR connections - It is nice to see both connection types included in the design. The microphone can be connected to a large variety of devices via USB. When connected to a PC/mobile, the user has access to the ShurePlus MOTIV app discussed below. XLR can be used to connect it to a mixer/audio interface.

    * ShurePlus MOTIV app - A very intuitive and easy to use app. It offers an auto level mode which has a few customization options including microphone placement (near or far) and tone (dark, natural, bright). Think of this as the "plug and play" mode. It also has a manual mode for fine tuning. Manual mode has many features such as an EQ setting (flat, high pass, presence boost, and high pass & presence boost), compressor (off, light, medium, and heavy), limiter, microphone gain, monitor mix, and microphone mute. These settings can be saved under a dedicated profile for easy retrieval at a later time.

    * Microphone touch panel - This is a nice feature which allows the user to quickly adjust the gain, headphone volume, monitor mix, and mute function. It takes a little practice to get used to the sensitivity of the panel but overall it works great.

    Cons:

    * Micro-USB connector - It really shouldn't have this. I hope to see future iterations only include the USB-C variant following the evolving USB standards.

Overall, the Shure MV7 is an outstanding microphone with a lot of professional features. I highly recommend this microphone.

The podcast mic of your dreams has come true!

As a recording engineer, I’m quite familiar with the Shure SM7B. It was a birthday gift last year, in fact! The Shure MV7 is the younger, shorter and slightly fatter version of it. It’s also more reasonable at $249, compared to the $399 price tag for its bigger brother.

The greatest benefit of the MV7 is that you don’t need an audio interface to operate it, which means you save even more money. You can just plug it into your computer with the included USB cable and you’re ready to go. I consider this an advantage, because without an audio interface, there’s one less item on my desk, leaving more room for other things. It even comes with two different USB cables, USB-A and the more modern USB-C, which makes it compatible with many smartphone devices, in addition to your PC or Mac.

If you prefer the old fashioned way, you can certainly plug an XLR cable into the mic and plug it into your true and tested audio interface. It will then operate as a regular dynamic microphone.

Let’s talk about the most important aspect, the sound. I’m quite familiar with the response of an SM7B, and the MV7 is definitely sharing that same sonic quality. Remember that this microphone has a noticeable proximity effect, so if the low frequencies are overbearing, move away from the mic a few inches more, don’t reach for the low cut right away. This will benefit the sound tremendously. I was very impressed with the clarity and detail in my voice; very much like it’s older sibling.

Speaking of the low cut, the MV7 encourages the use of an app called ShurePlus MOTIV to make any adjustments. The SM7B has physical switches for low cut and presence boost on the mic itself, but with the MV7, you have to change those settings virtually. I installed the app on my PC and Mac, and it worked fine on both. The settings are saved on the mic, so they were the same when I switched from my PC to Mac. You can use an auto setting that works pretty well, or you can have full control in manual mode, which allows you to change the mic gain, low cut, presence boost, limiter and compressor.

Like an SM7B, you will probably have to crank the gain up a lot. When I stream, I have my mic 8 - 9 inches away from my face, and I had to crank it all the way up to get a proper level. The mic itself does have controls for volume and mute, but keep in mind that if you plug this in with an XLR cable rather than USB, you will not be able to use the onboard controls nor the app. This also applies to the headphone jack.

No mic stand is included, but this mic has many uses, so it’s up to you to figure out the type of stand you need. Shure does offer a variety of options on their website to get you going in the right direction.

If you’re a streamer or want to start a podcast, look no further as this is the mic for you. It’s designed to give both beginners and professionals everything they need to get that broadcast quality sound; fast, easy and affordable!

Console/PC At The SAME TIME?! Yes.

I’m going to start this review of with this: This is NOT a cheaper version of the Shure SM7B. It does not sound anywhere near as good and is a lot cheaper for a reason with a completely different target market and purpose.

So, what is the target market? Streamers, YouTubers, podcasters, vocalists, etc. who are just starting off or those users who want a single microphone that offers the most flexibility by allowing you to use USB, XLR, or both AT THE SAME TIME. The main application that will make this microphone a banger is the ability to use the microphone on your computer to talk to stream while also having it plugged into your PS5 (or Xbox) and talk to game chat/party chat at the same time. No more having two microphones plugged in. It’s also great for those people who need a microphone to travel with. As this will work on an XLR setup or PC by just plugging it in via USB. The build quality and aesthetics are also premium.

I was able to plug this into my PS5 and get it to work via USB. I was also able to plug this into my computer and get it to work either from USB or XLR. Last, I was able to get it to work for USB to PS5 and XLR to PC at the same time and record audio. Which was freaking brilliant I tell you!

To explain further. If you are just starting off and are looking at buying a USB microphone you really shouldn’t look any further. As this microphone provides brilliant sound quality via USB. With the ability to upgrade at a later date to XLR which doesn’t sound any better than the USB counterpart. Which is super impressive as usually USB microphones don’t sound anywhere near as good as an XLR microphone.

But that isn’t to say this microphone is all rainbows. I tested it mostly from an XLR point of view because I already have an Audio Interface and everything you would need for that. As an XLR microphone it performs well but you can buy a lot cheaper microphones that provide just as good or better sound. I found for my voice (which will also play a huge roll in the correct microphone you buy) to not work all that well for this. I have a relatively deep voice with strong Mids. This microphone heavily emphasizes mids and bass which makes me sound muddy and hard to understand. I had to do a lot of tweaking on my audio interface to make it sound what I considered to be good. But once I got that sound on lock things sounded GREAT. Another issue that I ran into was if you are hitting the microphone arm, XLR port, or USB port, that the sound is transferred into the microphone. Which is a bit disappointing at this price point. But otherwise, it did a great job at isolating sound from the sides and when manipulating the microphone itself which you’d expect from a dynamic microphone. Speaking of it being a dynamic microphone the windscreen on it is not the best as they skimped on the padding on the very front which makes plosives (p, s, etc.) kind of harsh. Along with having an extremely strong proximity effect. If you are 2 inches away and then move 1 inch away the volume nearly doubles. So, you need to be highly cognizant of that when doing recordings.

It comes with a USB Micro to USB C or a USB Micro to USB A. It would have been nice to see USB C instead of USB micro. But whatever. Both of those cables are super long so you shouldn’t have too much issue getting the microphone where you want. It does not come with an XLR cable or an actual mount. So you’ll need to buy those separately, especially the mount. Setup is super easy no matter which one you use. The onboard touch controls do not work via XLR but do through USB and they work well. The application that you need to install to get the full use out of the USB connection is also simple to navigate and works well but is not needed.

    CONCLUSION:

I absolutely love the flexibility and design of this microphone. As a USB microphone it is an easy recommendation if you can afford it. If you are using it for an XLR microphone I would recommend doing more research on other microphones. If you are trying to capture both PC and console voice at the same time this is probably some of the best you will find which also makes it an easy recommendation. If you are traveling a lot and need a microphone to work on multiple devices it is also a great choice. The only big issue is that this does NOT sound anywhere near as good as the Shure SM7B and should not be compared to it. I found the sound quality for my voice (bass and mid filled) to not be great and often left me unimpressed for the cost. But once I did some dialing in it was a lot better. As the frequency response isn’t terrific especially for the price. It also has a poor mic cover and has a lot of sound transfer when hitting the mic arm or cables. But otherwise does good. I think they are asking a bit too much for this guy. I think 150 – 200 would be a more competitive price. As 250 takes you into another bracket that opens up a lot of possibilities if you know what you are looking for or willing to do your research.

    Fantastic choice for Dragon Dictation!

Compared to just a few years ago, dictation software has vastly improved (especially on the Mac). After a horrible experience 3 years ago, I decided to give it a second go when Nuance released the new version of Dragon Professional for Mac. I started out using a cheap headset microphone, but it was uncomfortable and made me feel tethered.

After hearing from other Mac users of Dragon, the Blue Yeti came highly recommended and was also "officially" supported by Nuance. While $130 initially felt a bit pricey, after getting my hands on it and using it for a few weeks I consider it to be an absolute steal for the price. This mic is a legitimate professional mic that can used in so many different ways - Podcasts, Skype / FaceTime, Google Hangouts, GarageBand, YouTube Blogs, conference calls, and dictation just to name a few.

Initially I thought I would have to have the mic sitting pretty close while I dictated, but I just leave it sitting next to monitor facing towards me at an angle. Despite being nearly 2 feet away, it performed leaps and bounds better than the original plastic headset mic I used initially (which sat about an inch away from my mouth).

The Yetti is nearly perfect, but I do have 1 major complaint. I really wish it had an on/off switch because if you leave it plugged into your computer, it has a red LED that is constantly lit up (if it is muted the LED will blink). The only way to turn it off is to unplug it which can be inconvenient. However, I ended up just buying a cheap $7 USB adapter that has an off/on power button so I can leave the microphone plugged in and just press the button on the adapter when I need to use it. Despite this one drawback, I still give it 5/5 stars and my full recommendation!

Great for all entry level and semi professional

I am a tech enthusiast gearing up to start a YouTube channel. This was recommended to me by multiple individuals. The three condensers in this mic allow for amazing audio pickup and sensitivity. It probably wouldn't hurt to get a pop filter with this. The overall build of this is solid. This is a quality item being encased in a mix metal body. It looks sharp on the desk. However, the in box mic stand does pick up every tap on the keyboard and thumping on the desk. Other wise no complaints.

I use this for voice overs, recording acoustic instruments and to make regular FaceTime, google hangouts and skype calls as well (paired with my Logitech C930e). Being that I use a Mac Pro I also receive and make phone calls using this mic. Note this can be done with any Mac with OSX Yosemite. I highly recommended this mic. Don't wait on it just jump.

    Excellent Sound Quality

The quality of this mic is impeccable, however it picks up literally everything. If you are looking to use this as a microphone for your computer to stream or do anything other than have short conversations or voice commands then a boom arm is mandatory. The stand it comes with picks up every tap, touch, bump, mouse click, or keyboard stroke that you make. I turned the mic onto cardiod and the gain all the way down and it still picks up my mouse clicks. I have gotten it down to a minimum with some third party programs, but it is still there.

This microphone is excellent for recording your voice or sounds that you need for editing, however it might pick up more than you would like.

Blue Yeti for creating Radio Broadcasts at Home

During the pandemic CJAM 99.1 FM had to close so we could no longer broadcast live. Using the Blue Yeti and Audacity software I was able to create a fantastic sounding program from home for broadcast in my normal time slot. You will need to buy a pop filter for the Blue Yeti for better results.

Professional microphone at a fraction of the price

Starting a podcasts for the various things we do such as filmmaking and collecting we wanted to have to best in sound. And after researching for microphones the YETI by BLUE kept coming up. Focussing primarily on that microphone I found it to have everything we needed to give us the professional sound we wanted. The fact you can simply unbox it and plug it in without having to download software was amazing and the THX certification was a huge plus We love it so much we bought two.

It worked great as advertised to play music from the cell phone, via bluetooth technology, and I was still able to charge the cell phone at the same time and it char my phone super fast as well. Nice little device for older cars.I love this product!

My car does not have a built-in Bluetooth device. I have been eager to use Bluetooth, and finally connected my mobile phone with Bluetooth to play music. I finally don't need to use the classic CD-ROM in the future. In addition to being used in a car, it can also be used on a cassette player. wow... After having it, the cassette player that has been kept in the house for a long time has been used.

    Mic is where its at.

We have bought two of these. The head phones are garbage however the Mic is very good and doesn't require Phantom power or internal battery to work on a cell phone, tablet, computer or even camera input. This is pretty rare with this quality or mic and is worth the purchase alone. Plus its very light and most spring loaded table mount arms hold it up easily.

Can't be beat at any price for what you get!

Writing this review after 2 days of purchasing two other, more expensive and highly reviewed headphones that I KNEW would not be like the ones I purchased here. That's the difference between listening to others advice and simply reading the technical specifications of the manufacturer and knowing EXACTLY how the product is going to perform based on those specs. For $49.99 (plus tax) this is probably one of THE BEST purchases I've made in terms of value-to-quality I've made in a quite some time (this entire computer in 2012 as well as the longevity and outpacing of 95% of what's out there with 5-6 years ahead of it was probably THE best).

Prior to today, I was using the Corsair Vengeance 1500 V2 for some 10 years and they finally broke for good. If you try to find them now, they've gone up in price, from between 2-3 time and even 10 times what I paid for them, no lie.

They had the best processor for Dolby II, DTS & 2.0/5.1/7.1 Surround and the sound was clean, not muddy, not brash or too bright, and the frequency response was good enough to drop some bass through. For video games, you were hearing people in any direction, 360 degrees around horizontally, 360 degrees around vertical (above and under) as well as panning at any direction. Guy walking in brush and you could pop your head up and know exactly where to aim. Sounds in the distance and oncoming planes, tanks, whatever... and again, you knew at what distance and it only enhanced the visual experience even greater.

So I salvaged them for a very long time, even using duct tape to keep them together... but like all good things, they come to a final end. Now the problem was, where was I going to find something that rivaled them and not pay an arm and a leg to do so.

First things first and I knew I had to start with at least a 50mm speaker so as to induce the proper bass tones I needed. A frequency response of 20-20,000, (with companies like Sennheiser always advertising 12-44,000Hz, ranges that most studios neither use at either end as they are both inaudible, unusable and could damage 95-99% of the rest of speakers out there). But SNR is important and so at a sensitivity of107 +/-3dB and you're talking a very clean sound coming out of them.

Before I even installed their G-Hub software (which enables all of the DTS surround features, as well as graphic equalizers and more) I tested these plugged directly into Windows 7 to listen to the flat response with no EQ. SMILES FROM EAR TO EAR as I didn't hear some muddy, hollow or low level sound that needed to be boosted (with an impedance of 39 Ohms (passive), 5k Ohms (active) why would I?) and then tried it with some EQ shaping and it was brilliant on both passes. At no time did I hear any distortion, crackling, feedback, hum or clashing of frequencies and the EQ I tested on could be configured for 15 or 31 band, with customizable settings on the Hz of each band.

Installing the G-Hub software was easy, intuitive and worked without any conflicts (which is usually a finger crossing experience on a Windows 7 for most people... but my machine is lean and clean and free of bloatware or Microsoft's mitts on it). The testing panel for surround sound and with it's own EQ system were again, straightforward and the demo for the surround was excellent in that it lets you shape the sound that sounds best for your ears, per speaker, delay, distance and +/-db levels per individual 7.1 channel.

Now, if this sounds like overkill to you, you should know something about me first... I have SUPER sensitive hearing and perfect pitch. So much so that I can pick out and identify sounds that are often inaudible to others. In fact, I had a 7.1 home theater system back some 20 years ago and I noticed that with some DVD Blu-Ray titles, there was a terrible popping sound, sounding more like the sound of "Ffffffttt" and only when the scenes were loud, action packed and kicking in the DTS surround or similar. It wasn't on every title, but enough that I noticed it throughout many titles. I brought the main unit to a local dealer as it was under warranty yet and they said they couldn't find anything wrong. I hooked it up and sure enough, it was still there. They tried listening again, this time with high quality speakers in a special soundproof room and with equipment that picks up electrical hum and other sound phenomena. The guy calls me up from the shop and says, "Sir, you must have ears like a dog because we hooked this thing up and every, single scene you said you noticed the problem, our ears in the shop couldn't hear it, but our equipment probes picked it up exactly." (I had written down scenes with times at where I heard the problem and was correct on all of them). He then laughed and said, "Would you like a job? Not for nothing, but I'd hate to have your sense of hearing, it must be annoying". Like you have no idea.

Anyway, all I can say is, if you are looking for gaming headphones that can also handle sound AND, ones that aren't made for tiny heads or for teenagers and kids the same, these things expand quite a bit and don't make you feel like a vice clamp is on the sides of your head. The sound quality is superb and the value again, is what we all need in a product like this. Good luck on your future purchases!

One of the best headset out of the bunch

I’m a avid gamer and I’ve been using tons of earphone headsets but they’ve often disappointed me as they break at the hunches or end up losing sound after a few months. “Looking at you turtle beach”. I saw the G430 on sale for Black Friday last year and bought them and they have been perfect since purchase to now. I also bought these G432 since they are an upgraded version of the G430 and they are much better than the previous iteration.

A solid 7.1 headset that excels on PC

Let me start off with how comfortable the G432 headset is even for someone that wears glasses. I was playing Crysis 3 for a couple of hours with no ear pain or my ears getting warm. Normally with previous gaming headsets, I would have to stop after an hour to take a break due to either one of those issues. Normally Leatherette earpads are comfortable to use but they tend to get warm on extended game play periods. But whatever material Logitech use on this bravo cause they somehow managed to stay cool.

As for the style, they pretty much look the same as previous models before except for the color scheme. I actually like the look of the G432 it’s not over the top and the blue earpads go well with the black scheme.

For the build quality it’s good overall they don’t feel cheap. The only complaint I have is the cable it’s too thin for my taste and I would of prefer it to be detachable. So if the cable goes out the entire headset will need to be replaced. Now for the USB DAC dongle, it does feel cheap and every time I plugged in the cable it can hear a clicking noise from the inside almost like something is loose. It does feel hollow overall.

Sound quality is very good when you take advantage of it using the included USB DAC dongle. They sound good without it but the effect is not immersive when using them with DTS surround option. Games like Crysis 3 campaign I can tell a big difference with and without the DAC dongle. The Logitech G Hub provides default sound profile for current popular games like Apex Legends and Destiny 2. You can also adjust the volume level individually for the 7.1 speakers. If you don’t like the default settings you should be able to find one to your liking with so many options to adjust. As for the mic, you can quickly mute it by flipping it back. Logitech did a good job with noise suppression even with a loud fan on the background my friend was able to hear me loud and clear. So far it’s been the best mic I’ve used for online gaming.

Overall Logitech did a fantastic job on with the G432. They’re not too expensive and you also get tons of sound customizations. The complaints are minor mainly due to the thin non-detachable cable. Just keep in mind if you’re a console player you will not be able to take advantage of those sound profiles. For PC gamers it’s a solid pick up for a wired gaming headset.

Awesome for surround sound based gaming

The Logitech G432 Surround Sound Gaming Headset is a good device for gamers looking to have an immersive gaming experience. I recently acquired this headset and have tested it out with a few different types of games, ultimately having my preference of using it for adventure, exploration style games where understanding surroundings and sensing directions of sounds is key. This is one of the great aspects of the 50mm Drivers and DTS Headphone X 2.0 Surround Sound. Good sound quality that is robust for the adventure experience. While nice for this type of game, other genres like sports or fighting games don't really need the feature as much. In those instances, the headphones become a way of simply playing a game without using TV audio.

The microphone works well enough for what is advertised. The flip to mute function is handy and not a distraction while wearing the headset. In general, the headset is comfortable for long play sessions, having been tested by me for multiple sessions of 3+ hours without issues. I had no issues with pain or pressure on my head or ears and felt that the padding was good for the design. The main issue I had with this headset was using across multiple platforms. I primarily game using the Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch consoles. I also occasionally use mobile devices for gaming. While the functionality of the Playstation 4 and mobile device market makes this headset easy to use (with a 3.5 mm cable), the Nintendo Switch is another story. In handheld mode, the Nintendo Switch device works fine with this headset for gaming audio. However, syncing with the Nintendo Online service app via your phone renders native voice chat useless. This is a Nintendo, not Logitech issue. But still nonetheless, voice chat while listening to gameplay is not possible. Using the headset while the Nintendo Switch is in docked mode is also not practical, as there is no 3.5 mm audio port on any current Nintendo controllers. So unless your Nintendo Switch device is within 3-5 feet of you, it isn't worth using.

Overall, my experience with this device was great on the Playstation 4 and mobile device platforms, while adequate to poor on the Nintendo Switch. If in the market for a gaming headset, I would purchase this device provided the platform I game on has functionality conducive to its use.

Great wired gaming headset with surround sound

I have a PS4 and so this plugs into the 3.5mm port. To take advantage of the listening experience when you game, you must set the output volume on the PS4 controller to the max, and then adjust the volume on the headset.

So, in comparison with another headset I have with relatively the same specs, it’s also great with just a few differences. Here, you have a volume adjustment knob that is behind your left ear pad, which means if you had to adjust while your gaming, you’d have to make one hand free (left) and perhaps pause or “stop moving”. Some other headsets have volume knobs near the 3.5mm male plug going into the input of the controller, whereas it’s a bit easier. That’s just different and for this Logitech design, you would just have to adjust to it.

Microphone works the same way (like my other one, flip up to mute and down to talk).

The weight feels a bit heavier but not much. I would think it’s because of the leatherette used and also metal within the headset adjustment (my old one is plastic).

Though I don’t have a gaming PC, it does come with an extra accessory of a USB male to 3.5mm analog stereo female, which this headset plugs into.

So this can be already advantageous right out of the box when you have a desktop gaming PC with an available USB for audio.

I do like the colors and it does compliment my dark blue 500million series collectors edition DualShock 4 controller.

I will look forward using this in many new games to come, especially horror when you need to hear carefully; these are a must.

Must buy! Excellent video and sound quality

This is the 2nd Aluratek webcam I’ve bought because I want one for all of our computers! First of all, the quality is 1000x better than a laptop camera. The view is also waaaay wider than a laptop camera. The microphone is so nice so that you can have your laptop closed and still do Zoom chats. We also used the microphone to record voice recording for Build a Bears. Definitely worth the buy. Also I didn’t have to install anything.

It looks nice and works well :)

First this is the perfect size for my work desk. Not clunky and it looks sleek and cute. It’s easy to use. My zoom coworkers can hear me better now too lol. Overall happy with my purchase

    Great Deal!

Decent. Its not a professional setup, but for $45, this is a great starter kit. Purchased for some light streaming and it does great.

These items work perfect for what I use it for and that is, a camera and mike for my zoom meetings on my computer. I bought these two items together at a great price on Best Buy Deal of the Day.

    Easy to use.

    Get what you pay for

I guess for the special sale price it was ok. Would not be worth the original price as very low quality.

    Good quality, poor usability

    Pros:

    - sound quality is good for the price

    - headphones stay on the head overnight

    - decently comfortable, even with a large head

    - the minimum volume is quiet enough for long-term use

    - battery lasts three nights of continuous use

    Cons:

    - headphones' volume control is independent of your device's volume, adding a layer of complication

    - headphones default to max volume (which is really loud)

    - headphones sleep after a couple seconds of silence or quiet, and reset to max volume when they wake

    - low battery notifications have a grating voice

These are probably fine for calls and podcasts. If you do use them for music, some advice:

    - turn the headphones' volume down to the minimum, and use your device's volume to control the loudness

    - don't let the music stop (i have two audio apps i can switch between to help with this)

I haven't tried using the aux cord; maybe that gives an entirely different experience.

    Good on-ear headphones for school

My son needed a pair of headphones for school and wanted something that could connect to the chrome books they use. These are listed as over-ear headphones, but they’re pretty small. Even on my son they are more like on-ear. The foam cups come off easily, but they also go back on equally as easy.

I got these for my kids. One of them has sensory issues. They like them. The fit is good on kids as well as adults.

Basic headset with one major annoyance

Relatively basic headphones with mediocre sound fidelity. Snug butt not especially comfortable fixed. One annoying feature that evidently can't be turned off is when there is no input or about 10 seconds it begins sending a ringing sound for you to turn off the headset. This is evidently to save battery but instead it only annoys the listener.
