Bought the Roku Ultra HD 4K HDR earlier, but needed another for my other smart tv. The Streaming Stick was the only one left on the shelf, yes only(1) so much for timing uh?

Anyway I took it home and hooked it up without any hindrance and believe me it worked just as good as the Roku Ultra-perfect!

Easy to use, lots of free channels, love the remote control and private listening function on it. Plex app makes this device unbeatable!

Plugs directly into my projector for movie night anywhere. It also has the Apple feature to cast from your Apple device.

This is an upgrade to a Roku stick in our bedroom TV. We have three other Rokus.

I got this one because it has the built-in audio jack, which is great for whan I want to watch TV while my wife reads or sleeps, and because it includes TV remote functions (power and volume) so I don't need a TV remote anymore.

Performance is much better. Starting up, responsiveness, time to start playing - all feels very snappy and a big improvement over our previous Roku stick.

It comes with everything you need including Duracell batteries for the remote, and headphones. Installation was a breeze, took 5 minutes including a super simple process to get it to control my Toshiba TV.

Is very easy to use and it is what I needed to watch shows in 4K. It’s not as clear as my 43” Samsun also conected to a Roku 4K but it’s still pretty good.

A Roku TV is more than a smart TV , that it's true .

We have a chromecast on all our tv's. However our daughter gave us one of these for our Media room. It is do easy to just ask the box to find what you want instead of searching everytime. With voice rempote you can do just that. It's easy tos et us and configure. Remember to always buy the protection plan for items like this. I need to replace one in another room, we purchased from Amazon and with out the plan we would have been outof the purcase price.

It’s worth the money and it’s very nice and pictures are much better than before, but it needs high speed internet at least 300 more.

There are several options for streaming but what stands out about the Roku Ultra 2020 version is the way it delivers Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. For those not familiar...Dolby Vision is the highest quality 4K video and Dolby Atmos is the highest quality audio. If you have a newer TV or surround sound system you will love the new Roku Ultra. If you have an older TV and no soundbar or surround sound...then you are better off buying a cheaper streaming device. Here is a breakdown of the good and bad.

Pros:

- The Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos really enhance movies, sports, and gaming. Combining great video and great audio make this the best streaming option at under $100.

- Google Movies and Apple TV+ both have apps so you can stream the movies you've purchased on iOS or Android. That option isn't available on the Chromecast.

- The Spectrum cable app is available on the Roku Ultra. You can save money by using the Roku Ultra to stream cable in your bedroom, guest room, or living room. The cable company charges $9/month to rent cable boxes for reference. This option isn't available on the Chromecast.

- Easy to setup and a smooth user experience. Out of the box to streaming took 5 minutes.

Cons:

- No HBO Max but there is the old HBO app still available. The old HBO app has all of the HBO shows but the movie selection is different and not as good.

- It's fast and smooth but not much faster then the 2019. Buy it for the Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision but do not upgrade for a boost in speed.

Bottomline...the Roku Ultra checks every box that you want for a streaming box. The Apple TV 4K is the best overall but it's also the most expensive. If you want the best streaming box under $100 then this is the one to get. Not only do I recommend...I bought 2 more for family members who just bought new TV's.

Awesome device. I bought four for all my and my parents TV’s.

I have all versions of Roku Ultra (2018,2019, 2020) and I have to say there is NO BIG difference from each one! The 2018 version doesnt have the tv off, mute, volume buttons, button shortcuts, that the 2019 and 2020 has, but the loading times of channels, the channel selection, is the same on all versions.

The big difference I see mostly is the support for Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus, HDR vision, HDR10, or the 4k Home theater hard core fans. I can finally play all my Vudu 4k movies with Atmos or hear my 5.1 dolby plus sound bar at its full Potential. There was 4k support before on the 2019 roku but no dolby vision or dolby atmos at the time. Glad they added it in the 2020 version cause pretty much all the new 4k movies are in hdr10 or vision, with dolby plus or atmos.

I havent checked if the the 2020 roku is cooler than the previous versions, its only been 2 hrs since I turned this on, but I can say that the old power cable of the roku 2019 version does work with the roku 2020 version. The old remotes of all ultra versions work on the 2020 roku, setup was pretty simple. just register it when you login into your roku account on any laptop, phone, computer etc and make sure to allow it network access and you should be streaming in no time.

I’d say the only big thing or turn off for the roku is that it only works really well if you have all the equipment to take full advantage of the goodies u get. For me I have a decent 4k tv, 4k player, soundbar, cables, and watch alot of streaming channels that only Roku offers. $100 is not so bad I have chromecast 4k and apple 4k tv too but most of my movies, channels, and overall preferences goes to roku first.

For people that are new, old, curious, the roku 2020 is a good choice it offers all the 4k standerds, hdr, atmos, hd, channel selection, fair price, EZ remote friendly, and convenient you wont get disappointed. Again if your struggling to decide which player is best for just pick the one that fills all your needs. I use both apple 4k and roku, apple 4k tv works great with my apple exclusive only tv shows, movies or things I can only do on apple, my ipad 2020 version and iphone SE works amazing with the tv mirror option and sharing from ipad or iphone to appletv options, love watching Twitch TV and HBO Max that are only available on apple tv. However Roku has all movies and tv shows that I bought when we first started “DigItal Copies)” Ultraviolet, UV, before Movies Anywhere , most of my digital movies and tv show redemptions were only available to “Vudu”, even with movies anywhere not all my movies show up when I connected my vudu to movies anywhere. Also apple has a crappy player software or a really bad player gui that all the apps must use, but the roku vudu version is amazing or at least decent enough to move around and have the basic play, next chapter, fast forward, chapters, etc organized enough that you dont have to keep sliding and sliding compared to the apple remote. Also you can buy/rent movies on the vudu roku version, on the apple tv you can only watch on the app version. I only payed 50$ or half off for the 2019 roku ultra the apple tv never goes on sale or if it does good luck paying under 100$. The free 4k upgrade is nice of apple but I hate the player options or constant battle to slide back and forth to skip scenes, switch languages with a big giant menu box on top of the screen blocking most of the picture. Plus I hate rebuying some of my movies or tv shows on Apple Tv because movies anywhere doesn’t recognize my UltraViolet movies.

Again great roku but I just dont see the BIg Bang or alot of changes that makes it the Best. Kudos to bestbuy for the fast shipping, Shipped out Sunday and got it Tuesday as promise and no damage to the product. Might get another one for sure if I get a 8k tv and if Black Friday has it on sale again am definitely getting 2.

I don’t care much for the Velcro attachment. Also electric cable is short. On my tv over the treadmill I had to get an extension cord to plug it into an outlet right below. 10” more would have been perfect.

My Roku, worked great for 15 days and on the 16th day it stopped working, and since your return policy is within 15 days I’m stuck with a product that doesn’t work…overall I’d says it’s a piece of crap and so is your return policy!!!

This really is all ya need for a bedroom or garage TV. Spectrum has a built in app on this little device which saves $12 a month on renting a cable box. Also has IHeartRadio so I use it for background music in the garage / patio. Money well spent!

I have bought several of the Roku Express over the months to escape the charges of the cable company for their cable box. You will still need the initial hook-up to cable, but you do not need their box. I am delighted in all the FREE movies and shows that are now at my finger tips. There are many features to this little gem that gain favor with the viewer.

Purchased this updated express model because Apple TV/TV Plus is, for some reason, not available on my 3 y/o 4K TV with Roku and a 3 y/o express device and also because I wanna be able to see the above app's contents on my TV sets without having to plug in my iPhones, iPads or MacBook Pro...and Lord knows I ain't gonna spend on the overpriced Apple TV box. I must say this doesn't disappoint for the above reason and also because this feels a lot snappier and produces better picture than my old express device. Setup is as easy as ever without any hiccups.

Definitely highly recommended for cord cutters, future cord cutters and those like me who have all their TV/movie entertainment online.

I bought this because vizio SmartCast doesn’t have very many useful apps. For what I’m using it for it is fine. I wanted to have ESPN app, mlb.tv, nhl.tv, Nbc sports, and fox sports apps with out having to buy another Apple TV. (I use Apple TV in the mancave) I watched a free movie on it today and was a little disappointed with the buffering in the middle of scenes. Also these free movies had 4 ads built in at certain points during the movie interrupting tense scenes. The live sports however, streamed perfectly without issue. It is very easy to set up and start using. I have it powered with the usb cable, plugged into my sound bar usb input, and easily mounted it with the supplied double sided tape on top of the sound bar.

Prior, I had a Roku stick that finally burned out after a couple of years of heavy use. I bought a another Roku stick, but got 2 overheat warnings within 3 days of ownership so I returned it.

I went with Roku Express because if its low sale cost of $25 and the small size. I stuck with Roku because of the Spectrum app.

With the included double sided tape, I mounted it under my 32" Samsung TV. I used the USB port behind the TV for power and used the included short HDMI cable to cleanly not have any wires showing. Also, I like being able to shut off the TV and having the Express be off with the TV instead of staying on.

After almost a couple weeks, there has been no issues. The sales rep let me know that the Express has a slower processor than the other models and that you have to point the remote directly at it, but so far I do not notice much difference with my experience with Roku stick and the remote issue does not bother me at all. I am happy and hope it will last.

Absolutely Love this thing! Soooo much better than my Google Chrome. My husband and I have both downloaded the remote onto our phones- WHAT A TREAT-!! That enables us to use voice commands and see the controls in the dark. It also allows us to scroll through all Roku has to offer on our mobile devices. We can also add on channels we already watch. We’re addicted.

I am proud to say that I am a cord cutter!! I can't believe that I can get so much tv for so little price! I bought Roku for my living room, bedroom and I'm gonna purchase another one for a Christmas gift for my daughter and grandson! You can't go wrong with Roku, it's all the tv that you need and then some!!!!

This is probably my 6th or 7th roku device, not counting the integrated Roku on one of our TVs. This is my second "Roku Premiere". I bought the first one a little over 2 years ago back when it only offered 4K with no HDR and the unit was shaped much like the current Roku Ultra is now.

I bought this Premiere to go with a 55 inch 4K tv that I use in our basement when I work out. I had the original Premiere device up on my 65 inch 4k TV in the living room. After using it for the first time though I have now moved it up into our living room on the bigger TV. Here is why.....

When I initially started using it on the 55 inch in the basement I ran some Youtube videos that demonstrated 4k HDR from one of the TCL tv's. I was shocked by the increase in color saturation, brightness and dark levels. Now I have never had any complaints with the image quality of either of my two 4K Tvs but neither is HDR compatible (8-bit + FRC panel) according to the manufacturer. That is what made me so surprised by the performance on both tv sets with this new Roku Premiere. It most definitely added something to the image quality in those key areas.

I have attached two demo images to illustrate what I am referring to with the HDR performance level.

In every other area I have zero complaints with the Roku platform and with this particular version of it. I will continue to use Roku as my choice for streaming.

P.S. I am going to buy another Premiere...the HDR image looks that good. ;-)

This was purchased to stream Spectrum via the many apps available. So far all is great. It even offers Fandango for current theatre movie choices. I’d recommend this to save monthly on renting a cable box via your provider.

Completely satisfied, Netflix is being removed from an older smart TV that I own, by attaching this New Roku I will be able to I will be able to watch Netflix on that TV. Perfect solution for me.

I replaced my old Sony Blueray player/ streaming device with the ROKU device and it’s been a godsend

This stick takes a while to set up. Hopefully your a roku regular because its all done on a roku site. Its still setting up after 10 minutes of downloading and I have a blazing fast connection/router/etc. I think they could and should have done some of this at the factory. Its auto sensing/connecting to your tv was instant. Didnt have to do a thing. Power and volume is great but on this they even added a mute button. Wish it worked on people, 1 in particular. Anyways its done uploading and setting up. Lots of new themes, last 1 had maybe a couple. Also we can change closed caption size, style, color, opacity, background color and opacity and the window. I only use it on reply or when the mute button doesnt work if you know what I mean but its nice to not have to replay more because I cant read it. Lots of new stuff, certainly worth the $50 they charge, i should have got 2 when it was on sale for 1/2 of that. I got this for a room where 1 had gone bad but have to use it in my tv room because that 1 just went bad. What the heck roku. A few years, ok maybe 10 but still. This one comes with a remote long range wireless reciever and an extension usb. If you need an extention hdmi they will send you 1 free. So either get this 1 or the ultra, dont mess around with the less expensive 1s, its only a few bucks. Also remeber these can go bad so dont buy it used. Watch model #s too because they change as the time goes by but the name can stay the same. Good luck.

Chose the Roku because a friend has two shows on a channel that is only on Roku (OSI 74 - check it out). Very pleased with it. I haven't subscribed to any of the paid services, including Disney +, but may down the road. Even with just the free services, it offers a myriad of choices. Don't miss cable a bit!

Do I love my Roku! It functions properly each time I use it. I love that the remote.has a Netflix button and that they now offer HBO, Peacok, Tubi apps. I love that they send you a free extender if your HDMI outlet isn’t accessible. When I got it, it worked like a charm! I love the little beep It makes with each selection change. I love that I could order it for free shipping because I set up curbside pick up.

Love my Roku's. we have him on 6 TV'S. Google Chrome Cast as well. The Roku is less intuitive but simple interface. You pick which streaming service from 100's of them. Majority are free. Remote controls not only the stream but also will auto pair with you TV for power on and off, volume controls including mute. This model of Roku has 4k as well as an extra antenna which Gives you better pick up of your wifi for stronger streaming. Also has twice the storage for channels screensavers and the like over early models. Go with the Streaming Stick + Plus 3810R

Overall, you get what you pay for. The price is reasonable when considering the fact that ROKU does not have a monthly subscription fee. And except for what premium accesses the user chooses to sign up for beyond the thousands of free-access programs, there are no other charges.

I canceled my cable subscription and hooked up with streaming channels. Saved me $100 monthly.

There’s nothing wrong with this Roku, I just prefer the Firestick. I recently cancelled my Directv so my daughters wanted the Roku for our new streaming service. I don’t like the preselected buttons or the cloth tag sticking out of the bottom. Again there’s nothing wrong with the way it operates, it’s just my personal preferences.

The installation was simple - it helps to look up Youtube videos on how to install.

Also, the remote controls controls the Roku programs, as well as the TV, such as turning on the TV, selecting the programs and raising/lowering the volume. The TV remote is not required!

This shipped quickly and I love the play by play on the shipment so I understand exactly where it is and when it arrives. Product works great and a decent price. I just wish it had worked correctly with my ibotta app so I would have gotten a few bucks back.

It's a really tidy terrific solution. I use it with my older 1080p television. I love that I don't have to have two devices, the Roku player and and a separate speaker bar.

I added the speakers and the woofer later. The woofer really adds a lot, the speakers are icing on the cake. The stream bar by itself is honestly plenty, especially in a smaller room.

The Roku device is a part of the sound bar, so there is less to buy. Each segment works well, and Best Buy's and Roku's great customer service means years of good use.

Less clutter under or around the TV - the better !

SUMMARY: If you need a solid 4K HDR streaming content experience with the greatest range of support along with sound reinforcement over TV speakers, this is a must have.

Recently purchased the Roku Streambar. Wish that I had purchased this a while ago as it completely resolves the problems I was trying to fix.

I've owned a Samsung 65" NU8000 Smart TV for a few years now. While the picture quality was great, applications stability was not. Without another TV update from Samsung for quiet awhile now, I was frustrated with the idea of having to purchase a newer TV just to have stable apps and no dropouts while watching TV. Believing it was possibly the Wi-Fi that was causing the Samsung to constantly drop video from Netflix, Amazon, Apple TV, Disney+ and more, I'd recently gone through a very expensive Wi-Fi upgrade. Even with the new Wi-Fi plus 1Gpbs Fiber to the home, I'd continue to have stalls, drops and generally poor experience with the Samsung Smart TV.

The other problem is that I was using a Vizio soundbar connected by optical connection, so turning on the TV and then messing with the controls long enough for the speaker to startup was also a frustration.

That's been completely eliminated with the addition of the Roku Streambar. Using the HDMI ARC connection on the TV, I have rock solid steaming applications from the Roku at 4K and HDR. In fact, in addition to not having the programs we are watching drop out, I'd say the picture is actually better!

Sound is actually very good and quite amazing for it's size. You can see in the picture how it's much smaller than the former Vizio sound bar. It's still very loud when needed and quite clear. It is lacking in the bass, so if you are one who really needs the bass punch, you'll need to Roku Wireless Subwoofer. I'd also purchased that and it was extremely easy to pair it and place it in the room. I'll do a separate review of the subwoofer, but the combination of these two eliminates any wish the Vizio had worked better.

Samsung NU8000 also supports Anyconnect+ CEC, so with that enabled, I'm able to turn on the TV as well as the Streambar with just the Roku remote. There are some features the Roku cannot control by CEC, so I do still need to keep my Samsung remote handy if I need to make display settings adjustments or select another input on the TV, but I certainly do not need to have it handy for day to day operation.

With the HDMI ARC, the game console or any other sources we may select have their audio go to the Roku Streambar.

Strongly recommend, especially if you need to both improve the sound of your TV and you are wishing better support than Samsung or other manufacturers smaller and less stable selection of apps.

Just what I was looking for to pair with a 27" computer monitor for the kitchen. Activated my streaming subscriptions and doing the dishes is not boring anymore.

I have Roku stick 4k but TV sounds like garbage and it doesn't have audio out of any kind, so this smart sound bar is just a perfect choice.

Sound comes from the sound bar is much like premium 2.0 speaker

Roku part is much like my current Roku stick 4k, but one distinct difference is USB port. I have USB ethernet adapter and it works with Roku sound bar and the network setup becomes much easier. Just connect to wired network and done.

Remote does not have headphones jack, so you may want to use your smartphone instead.

Since I used hard wire connection, initial setup with Roku app on smartphone is much painless.

This speaker is a perfect hardware if you want a Roku but your TV speaker has horrible audio, or simply connect it with computer screen with HDMI in.

As Roku constantly tells you, it just works. Easy setup, easy for beginning cord cutters to pick up. Would be nice to see a visual upgrade to the UI, but rock solid as always. Steady connection to the internet, remote is comfortable in your hand. 4K picture is crisp and has no issues with Atmos as promised.

Now if they can just play nice with Google for YouTube and YouTube TV we'd be set.

I didn't know how easy it would be to setup a second Roku device until I purchased this one. Because I have a Roku account, everything copied over for easily.

I bought this to replace an older one that we moved to the bedroom. Liked the old one, like this one. Antenna does seem to be better as was advertised, not drop outs as of yet. Would recommend.

I own several 4K firesticks and they are inundated with ads for other channels that hide my actual apps. It’s a breath of fresh air to have a clean home screen. The downside is it’s locked down so I can only load their apps and channels. The redeeming factor of the firestick is the freedom to load whatever I want. Love the processor speed as it’s much faster than the 4K firestick

Roku is always amazing. I got this stick to upgrade from the Premiere version. This one has faster Wi-Fi connectivity speeds and amazing graphics.

Seems to work as promised. Pairing with the included remote is glitchy, will not be paired as soon as Roku comes up on TV and requires re-pairing. No other complaints otherwise.

Superior performance it was worth the upgrade. From the previous model core processor is faster overall performance is amazing hands down. Best bang for buck money.
