Bought this for my son . He uses it with his pc so he can use multiple ports. It works well so far.

Without this I wouldn’t be able to add my printer or scanner to my iMac.

The Adapter is a great buy. No lag when connected to a mouse and a hard drive simultaneously.

This little multi-port adaptor comes in very handy when I need to connect more than one thing to my Surface Go, because the Surface Go has only on USB C port. This device allows me to access older files that I have stored in USB drives or SD memory cards. Since the Surface Go has a small screen, sometimes I connect it to a larger monitor through the HDMI port in the multi-port device. I have also used it to connect to a TV. I like having one single, light-weight adaptor to connect different things to my computer.

Solid, well-built Multi-Port Adapter for my MacBook. Does not get too hot and I love that it has an ethernet port as well. In my opinion, it's the best value for a USB-C adapter and has a nice exterior that looks good with my MacBook Pro.

Unfortunately this one was packed in a flat envelope With no padding and sent by USPS. It got squashed. The adapter appears to be intact. I will be able to test it in a couple weeks when the device it goes to arrives.

It never worked. I have a 2020 MacBook Pro and it didn’t fit in any of the four USB-C ports. When I put it in the port, it read,” USB Accessories Disabled. Unplug the accessory using too much power to re-enable USB devices.” I bought the product in June 2020, and didn’t have a need to use it until I started grad school in Jan 2021. Lol soooo can’t take it back, but am highly disappointed. I tried charging my laptop while plugging it into all four USB-C ports and still no luck. :( Don’t recommend..

I ordered this adapter used, but the condition was described as "Open Box Excellent." Well, sadly, it is far from it. The adapter is covered in an array of scuffs on both sides and the cord has some weird color stains on it (see photos attached). It has clearly been in use for a while.

Overall verdict: pretty disappointing.

I installed in my old mac book and conectef to the big screen tv so Far no peoblems. Good image quality and fast response Good for my cad projects

I used it everyday and never touched it it was straight and I never bent it and it just stopped working rather go buy cheap ones will probably last the same

I bought this thunderbolt to HDMI adapter (recommended buy sales guy) in conjunction of the 27" Mac 5k screen so I could display on a second screen, but it did not work.. I also tried it with a MacBook Pro with the same results... how do I know it doesn't work?? Talked to Mac technical people and they couldn't make it work they had me do different things, but no luck. Finally I got a different cable (not an adapter) that they sell on the apple website and all I had to do is connect it and started working.. only reason I gave it a 1 star is because it did not work with the my computers, the quality look good and it may work just fine with other computers.

Purchased to add a third monitor to my PC ( Needed an ACTIVE adapter to be able to use three PC monitors to enable EYEFINITY on my Alienware PC / AMD Crossfire graphics cards.)... This is a PASSIVE adapter, so it's useless to me. I purchased this adapter based on other reviews on here that said it was an ACTIVE adapter... they were wrong.

I will be returning tomorrow since I found a cheaper/better solution on Amazon.

First time I disconnected the hdmi end from projector cable, the connector pulled out of the housing. Do not waste your money on this.

This product was great for taking what's on my Mac screen and putting it up onto my tv. Just plug it into the thunderbolt port then to the hdmi cable on your tv and it's that easy. Plus it's super good quality and made out of good materials and doesn't seem cheap at all.

I’d lost my old HDMI to Mac mini-display cord, so I thought to give this a try. Definitely simplifies the cords I’d need to travel with when I bring that somewhere and want to put up this old (mid 2012) MacBook pro contents on a tv or computer screen. Now, all I need is the regular HDMI I bring with me always and this adaptor instead of an entire other 4’ of cord.

If you have the old MacBook that this works with, you should get this adaptor. Seriously.

Works great with my Microsoft Surface tablet. I needed a HDMI connection for a presentation I was doing on a big screen TV, and it did marvelous with no loss of quality with the display.

I didn't think I needed this adapter until I connected my Macbook Pro to my iMac (and then display). This cable is needed if you're going to transfer data & sound. It can also charge the Macbook if you have a monitor that has a built-in power supply thereby eliminating a bunch of wires on your desktop.

I currently have my Macbook Pro connected to a 27" BenQ ( BenQ EW2780U).

I bought an extra charge for my I pad, just in case i need.

I love it, its fast, works perfect with my recording gear. The only issue that I have is that it's short,i dont know if they have longer ones, and I have to keep my gear close. Other than being short, I would recommend if you are using a USB C thunderbolt 3 interface and a mac.

sometimes you have to pay the extra $…the old saying. you get what you pay for. my other 3rd party were kind of a hit & miss. a well known manufacturer to boot but connectivity sometimes resulted in freeze up or just quit. though apple seems to overcharge (my opinion) most of there products they are certified to simply work.

these cables seem as if for my use, download/upload faster…at least seems that way

This cable is laser lighting fast!!! I bought it to charge my son’s Oculus 2 because the charger it came with took hours to charge it. When I purchased the C to C cable now it only takes a hour to charge. If you need fast charging, I would suggest this cable.

Great for connecting an external Audio Interface which can only function under the Thunderbolt 3 format. Less latency than the conventional USB connection, fast bandwidth response. The only setbacks are that it's just overpriced for such a short cable.

As always, Apple is the only branded TB3 cable to get the job done right! Super sturdy and well built.

I bought the Apple Thunderbolt 3 for my Presonus Quantum 2626 audio interface.

Even though this cable is pricy, it works flawlessly with my recordings. I have read on other forums the problems other artists were having using other cables from other brands such as unable to either download drivers properly or computer not recognizing it.

I for one am glad I bought this product. My Quantum was up and running in no time!

This Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter worked exactly as I hoped. It supports Thunderbolt 1 devices.

I connected this adapter to the discontinued Apple Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter so I have: Thunderbolt 3 > Thunderbolt > FW 800 > FW 9 pin to 4 pin cable > old Digital 8 HandyCam.

I had a number of old tapes with digital home movies I never finished importing to my hard drive back when I still had a computer with FireWire ports. I was afraid tech had passed me by and I had no way to connect to the 19 year old camera. I'm glad the Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter works with Thunderbolt 1 devices like my older FW adapters. I'm even more glad I saved those older adapters!

This thing is awesome. Just for a Thunderbolt Display to use with my new MacBook Pro. It’s an amazing combo!

I bought this adapter to use my Thunderbolt 2 RAIDs with my new MacBookPro (with TB3) while my Mac Pro (2013) was in the shop. It worked great and I was able to produce my weekly TV show on a different system for the first time since 2014. The adapter made all of my TB2 devices available on my TB3 MBP.

Now that the Mac Pro is back from the Apple spa I am using the adapter to attach a TB3 G-SPEED RAID to my Mac Pro. So it will work both ways...making it an even better purchase now that I didn't 100% believe it was capable of when I bought it.

To spell it out: You can use it to bring a TB3 device into your TB2 world OR a TB2 device into your TB3 world.

I am only using it to access hard drives, so your experience may not be the same if you are trying to do something more complicated, just FYI.

Cable needed to use to connect an older iMac to a newer Mac as an option for dual screens. I could have bought another monitor but I was able to put 2011 Mac back to use for 1/2 the price

It works as promised for thunderbolt 2 devices but does not directly support down stream thunderbolt 2 converters connecting and converting to other interfaces such as HDMI or Ethernet. It will support a downstream thunderbolt 2 hub does the converting to other device interfaces.

I purchased a new 2019 iMac 27 and was able to use this adapter along with a Thunderbolt cable to use my old 2012 iMac 27 as a second display. The new iMac has USB-C connections and the 2012 model uses Thunderbolt.

In order to use the old Mac as a second monitor simply hold the Command and F2 on the keyboard of the old mac to put it in Target Mode allowing side by side display from the new Mac.

Unacceptable. I feel taken advantage of just because I did curbside pick-up and trusted that what they gave me was what I paid for. I didn't pay for an opened/used product. Opened/Used things are usually marked down. Due to this whole Covid thing, I paid for NEW, not used/opened. Will be returning this ASAP.

I had a VERY expensive pair of Thunderbolt 2 drive arrays (2x 8TB WD Thunderbolt Duos) for my old iMac 2013 that I replaced with a shiny new 2016 MacBook Pro 15. This lead me to some peripheral challenges due to the lack of non-TB3/USB Type-C Ports, and the switch from an iMac to a MacBook Pro lead me to consider some Thunderbolt-based monitor options as well, since I wanted to still have a desk-based experience when at the home office.

Rather than invest (another) small fortunes in the 4 and 5k Thunderbolt 3 options endorsed by Apple, I found that there were also MANY new Thunderbolt 2-based graphics monitors being made available and on the market (having had an Apple Thunderbolt display previous to my iMac, I was hoping by now they'd put out another studio display-esque replcement but it seems thats not happening now).

I quickly procured a large display that was based on Thunderbolt 2, which allowed me to daisy-chain my storage array into a configuration that would allow me to single-cable dock, sans power delivery, to my new monitor, 16TB of logical storage, and a few USB accessories thanks to the monitor's USB3 hub that could be accessed through the Thunderbolt bus on-board.

There was just one problem with my design - The monitor could only deliver this connection over Thunderbolt 2 - I was still stuck with a legacy connector,

Thanks to this adapter, I'm able to maintain a clean single-cable approach, but I am required to still connect a power cable via Type-C connection to the MacBook Pro separately. This isn't a problem on the 15" MacBook Pro on my desk, but for those with the 2016 13" MBP (without Touch Bar) this solution would tie up BOTH of their 2 connectors (one for power, one delivering the Thunderbolt 2 bus via adapter).

If Apple wanted to really have something here they could have used the Thunderbolt 3 technology and created an adapter that could deliver both a Thunderbolt 1/2 signal, and had a pass-through power port so that I could "splice in" power delivery. Also, since Thunderbolt requires a controller on board cables and adapters as well, it would have been nice if this particular adapter had been a bit longer, or offered in cable form, since currently I have to connec tthis adapter at the laptop end of the connection, making for more bulk. Again, if this had been a 2-port adapter (with Mini DP Thunderbolt 2 and Type-C Power on one end, and 3 ft of TB3 cable connecting to a single type C on the other) this would be a useful adapter for lots of desk-based scenarios.

As the adapter stands, its a great, compact field adapter for connecting your portable device to Thunderbolt resources or daisy chains and does the job consistently. I have had no issues connecting my 2 WD RAID arrays nor my LG 34UB88 monitor. This method has no trouble driving the (almost) 4K display and the drives seem to have their full throughput as well, though I haven't benchmarked this (I dont like to benchmark the drives much, as they are production arrays and stressing the disks when everything is working well is just asking for disaster.

All in all, typical apple quality, but I'll be on the lookout for a Type-C to Thunderbolt 2 docking solution in the long run to avoid this dongle setup at the machine on my desk.

Wrong product, so I had to return it. Apple confused everything with this TB 2.0/3.0 business using completely different connectors.

Ordering and delivery met expectations. Best Buy usually carries the high tech supplies I look for.

Great product about it because I am a work at home customer service agent and I needed to have multiple screens display it work great.

Thunderbolt Cable the LONG one. The short ones are way to short, this helps extend the ability to use your video camera in HDMI mode when shooting sports without having to run SDI cables because the Mini recorder is to far away from your camera.

Works just as required. I needed to transfer data and had no issues with its connection at all.

I originally bought this cable for do a profile transfer to a new Mac which worked out great. I then found out I could use it to connect my Mac to an external monitor. Has been working great!

The Apple Thunderbolt Cable 2.0 is the prefect product for any Apple owner. I would recommend this.
