Create a wide-ranging wireless network with this TP-Link Deco M4 Wi-Fi system. The three included units reduce weak signals, and the mesh technology supports up to 100 devices for unrestricted connectivity. This TP-Link Deco M4 Wi-Fi system is compatible with Alexa for convenient voice control, while the app-based setup lets you change settings away from home.
These are rated at 5500 sq ft coverage. My home is a 4900 sq ft+ rambler and we are getting full coverage in every room and corner of the house. Using Xfinity 75MBPS and we don't have any gamers in the house but we do have a lot of devices and kids are always doing homework or streaming something and we have zero waiting, zero lag. Very happy with the TP LInk Deco mesh wifi. Set up took 2 tries for some reason and I had to reset each device before it would let me run the set up again but the second time everything went flawlessly so I didn't take any points away for that...technology isn't perfect and I might have made a mistake the first time. Eventually if they offer fiber where we live then I may need something with higher speeds, maybe? but this is very much up to the task for our situation right now. Would recommend to anyone who wants fast, reliable wifi.Sep 11, 2020 16:28
No more dead spots. They covet my 1900 sq. ft. perfectly. Highly recommend. Easy setup through mobile app.Jan 03, 2021 09:07
My apartment is longer than what a traditional router can support and when I had switched cable companies the installer mentioned mesh systems being better than buying just an extender. He was absolutely right, this mesh network is incredible, there are no dead zones in my apartment at all, I can see every device that is using WiFi on my network, and it was easy to install for an insanely low price compared to many of the other mesh networks out there.Feb 20, 2021 19:04
This is my second pack of 3. The first 3 did not quite reach all of the areas in my home that I needed wi-fi, so I bought a second pack. They integrated perfectly with the first set of three. The only drawback that I have with these is that they struggle with Zoom sometimes, giving me an unstable connection. I usually switch back to my AT&T router when I know I will be using Zoom, but that wi-fi doesn't have nearly the range of this mesh system. Overall, I am very satisfied.May 05, 2021 09:39
I had just set up the Google Wifi equipment that they gave me, and had several dead zones in my house. I bought these and set them up and have had no problems since!Nov 06, 2021 09:37
Quality was OK but I decided to purchase routers from my internet supplier, so I returned this item.Nov 07, 2021 08:06
works well without using an extender. Easy to set up and small and unobtrusive.Nov 20, 2021 06:46
1 word-awesome! Super easy set up pretty sure my 6 yr old coulda done it :) previously could not get a signal to my master bedroom or basement. Now I run consistently in the 3-400 Meg range. I feel like I finally get what I pay for. I picked this is up for like 129 bucks-I feel like it’s priceless. Do yourself a favor and try this out for 129 even at full price of 179 it’s great deal. Plus they look kinda coolDec 04, 2020 22:54
Enjoy a high speed and remarkable range with the Linksys R72 Max-StreamTM Wi-Fi 5 router. With speeds up to 1.7 Gbps to multiple devices at once, everyone in your home can stream and game at the same time without lag or buffering. It's easy to set up, and with automatic software updates and features, such as Parental Controls and Guest Access, your network will always be secure and up-to-date.
I originally purchased the Netgear 5G for almost $229! That one was great for the first 3 months...after that it use to drop me off the net! Even being connected with Cat6 cable. So, I had no choice but to buy another router. Decided on this Linksys. Decent money and so far...it works great! I have Comcast's xFi 1GB internet and this thing flies! I make my money being a programmer and all of my work is online. Great buy!Jul 19, 2020 16:21
i needed a router and i looked into this. does the job and i have no complaints. i have it hooked up to a spectrum modem [if anyone needs to know that].Jan 10, 2021 11:16
This is the fourth or fifth router that I have purchased and the second Linksys. The previous ones lasted a few months to about a year. My last Linksys lasted 3 years. The support from Linksys is exemplary. Just top-notch. Just because of that when I needed an extender, I got a Linksys. Again support was excellent. We have about 8 devices that are controlled by this (not simultaneously) and we are in a 1000 sq. ft. house with an attached garage. The extender was for a device in the garage. I'm not sure why these routers do not last much longer, so I purchased a three-year extended warranty from Best Buy which was inexpensive. Again, it's the support that I am buying.Oct 15, 2021 17:38
My old router just was not fast enough to handle my needs anymore. But at 76, I did not feel the need to spend the money for an over the top router that my cable couldn't supply the signal for anyway, so I asked the clerk for his assistance. This was the router that he recommended and it certainly did the trick. Over the years I have had numerous Linksys products, with great satisfaction, so the purchase was a no-brainer.Nov 14, 2020 07:41
This was to replace an old single band Netgear that was starting to fail. I couldn't believe how easy and streamlined the setup was. Clear, simple instructions. Dual band works great for us, dedicating the 5ghz band for video conferencing. Improved speed and signal strength. Solid value.Nov 04, 2021 13:13
We had a Linksys router for years, and when it needed to be replaced, a Netgear router was recommended, we bought it, it was defective, and we went back to Linksys. We installed our new Linksys router quickly, both the hard wire and the wifi, and it is working wonderfully!Apr 17, 2020 15:31
The speed difference was incresible once we switched out our old for this one. Set up was moderate in ease. For whatever reason some devices connected more easily than others but no need to call any support to set up. It was easily worth the cost of the router to get our money's worth on our internet.Oct 16, 2021 02:35
Bought to replace another router that died. Definitely an improvement in speed and a slight one in range. Been using it for a year and is holding up very well. Does appear to run a bit warmer than previous routers I've owned in the past. Not sure what the issue is though.Oct 23, 2021 10:16
The NETGEAR AC1750 Smart WiFi 5 Router with external antennas delivers extremely fast WiFi. With AC1750 WiFi, Gigabit Ethernet speeds, and high-powered external antennas, this router offers ultimate performance in wireless coverage for large homes with 12 or more wireless devices. It gets 3x faster access than similar 802.11n.
I have replaced several routers and access points, but AC1750 finally meet my and my business customer needs. I could also use these as access points and that worked out well for me having a hotel business.Jun 02, 2017 17:36
Great product just a little confusing set up but worth it.Oct 27, 2018 14:40
Love my new router! The range is awesome! I can even pick up a signal at my neighbors house across the street. Easy to install, love the user ID & password being on the router itself, makes it easier for my family to use. So glad I spent a little more this time on a router that has a greater range & with more device capacity. I hope this one will last us for a while! Thanks Best Buy for another great product & for having the most helpful, knowledgeable employees to help me in the store when I needed them.Aug 04, 2018 10:49
awesome works great actually a down grade from my last one and works way betterApr 21, 2021 07:25
I bought this router to replace my aging Netgear N600.
This router has exceeded my expectations in every single way!
-I has just silly fast data transfer rates.
-The range is awesome, It reaches everywhere in my house, and downstairs into my parking garage, and it covers a good share of my yard outside.
-Setup was super easy, and the "Nighthawk app" makes control effortless.
-At any given time there are 7-8 devices running through this router (2 smart TV's, 3 phones, 3 tablets, 3 laptops, wireless printer, 2 Roku's, and several gaming consoles)...I have NEVER come even close to choking the performance of this router.
-And in my opinion, this thing just looks cool too.
The ONLY negative that some may find is, it's a pretty big piece of hardware, I don't mind it at all, but if your going for the "minimalist" look, you'll have to find a way to hide it...Apr 14, 2019 10:58
After thoroughly reviewing various routers on the market, this one seemed the best and we have not been disappointed. We constantly had to reboot our old router and have had absolutely no problems with this one since we purchased it.Jan 26, 2016 15:27
I needed a stronger signal and this was perfect. Before my purchase it was almost like the days of dial-up. Now I'm able to do things without waiting.Jul 19, 2017 20:47
Can not complain about this router compared to one I had before, this is the best you get what you did spend for!Oct 07, 2016 20:56
Improve your home network with this TP-Link Archer C4000 tri-band Wi-Fi router. The two 5GHz bands provide faster data rates with speeds of up to 1625 Mbps, and a 1.8GHz processor maximizes performance and minimizes lag. This TP-Link Archer C4000 tri-band Wi-Fi router uses RangeBoost and beamforming technologies to extend Wi-Fi coverage and improve reliability.
Had google WiFi mesh and was not strong enough. This router is a beast to say the leastOct 17, 2019 16:24
I can't speak about long-term use as I have only had it up and working for about 2 weeks. What I can tell you is that the setup was easy. I haven't experienced any problems with it yet and the tri-band is nice for designating what connections to use for what devices. I am in the process of trying different ways to use it, such as smart connect for my security system or not. I have a ranch style home of about 1800 square feet and it covers all of it with no problem.Jan 08, 2021 17:08
I like the speed and 3 different frequencies it’s having. Never regret to own this one. Earlier I had A6 (1200Mbps) one. This one is much faster and more device connection capability. Also very slim and square size.Jan 30, 2021 11:03
At the time of this review we will have used this router for ~2 months.
Before this purchase we went through 3 different wireless routers in under 2 years. The Netgear Nighthawk AC1750 fared the best before the radio signal quality began to dip (this started after about one year of use). We tested other Netgears and an Asus router but they did not perform well in our house.
Our house is a tri-level with a chimney running right through the middle of the floor plan, so we needed to find a router that could effectively penetrate the mortar between floors. Our internet source enters the house from a non-ideal location so router position cannot be changed without additional costs.
After 2 months of use I can say that the TP-Link Archer AC4000 is by the far the most consistent solution for us. Main floor level range for 2.4 and 5GHz bands is reliable, and the 2.4 GHz band consistently reaches corners and diagonals better than all the other routers we've tried. It doesn't reach every weird angle of the house but at this price point I don't expect it to.
In the past we've needed to restart the Nighthawk for the odd connectivity issues but I have not yet needed to do that, either. I don't have number data to include with this review, but I can safely say that wireless range and signal consistency is very good. Phones do not randomly disconnect from this router like they did with the Nighthawk. Speed has not been an issue before but it's still good here.
After 2 months of heavy use by 10+ devices, mostly wireless, I can confidently recommend this router. Setup is easy as it was with Netgear and Asus models. The build quality is solid and the AC4000 performs as well as we need it to.May 07, 2021 17:18
Great router, especially for the price! I have 1000Mbps download and 20Mbps upload internet. It works better than the previous Links's and Net-gear routers I've had. The GUI is very user friendly with some great features like parental controls and live monitoring however the features are buggy and sometimes don't work at all. I've read other customers have had the same experience. Software updates aren't frequent, I'm sure they stick with the "if it's not broken don't fix it". Overall great router for the price but it could be improved!Mar 10, 2021 23:49
My previous R7000 was rendered near worthless by the latest firmware debacle. tried this AC4000 and couldn't be more satisfied. Speed tests at my ISP max speed day in, day out. Been running steady for a month without a reboot with over 15 devices connected. Great router for the money.Mar 28, 2020 11:39
Works great as a second WiFi device to handle the WiFi devices. I think built in security should be free and not charged monthly fees. Setup easy no permanent built in security is unacceptable by TP Link corporation being greedy. Netgear the same way.Apr 23, 2021 15:39
Had a Netgear Nighthawk AC3200 which constantly had to be rebooted and slowed down all my devices. Decided to purchase the TP-Link Archer AC4000 and I'm glad I made this purchase. All my devices run much faster and don't have to reboot router. I did reboot the router once to see how long it took to come back, and it was much faster than the Netgear.May 28, 2021 20:21
Create an efficient home or office network with this ARRIS SURFboard router. This device supports multiple simultaneous 4K streams and channels data at up to 1Gbps for ultra-fast file downloads and an enhanced gaming experience. Connect tablets and laptops via Wi-Fi or plug devices into this four-port ARRIS SURFboard router directly.
I’m so glad that I ordered this to replace the one that I am leasing from the cable company. This is such a better one unit then was leased. My WFI is so much better within the house. Best Buy ever... lolNov 20, 2020 15:50
This has worked perfectly since I bought it. Phone is working great internet is great. Ran my ethernet cords thru the walls and plugged them into the unit. An still everything works great. So honestly I have no complaints. Comcast was able to get it working quick when spectrum turned me down for using this. So happy to change services and happy to say its a great product.Jun 19, 2020 16:57
I’m very picky when it comes to modems and routers.. they have to be one unit and this one for me is great. Works as described. I really like my Arris no problems with it yet. Thumbs up.Jul 11, 2020 20:52
Very excelente. Creative an efficient home. Connect tablet and laptop WiFi. Router directly.Jun 07, 2019 16:01
Wanted something that could do telephone, this worked great.Jun 12, 2017 14:12
I got this Modem and I tried it at home and it works great but when I took it to my office since I have a Business Account, I tried installing it and it wouldn't work so I called Xfinity and they told me that it does not work for Business Accounts. So keep in mind that it works great but not for Business.
It comes with instructions, ethernet cable, power cable.
Comes well packaged and looks greatMar 16, 2019 14:01
Bought this item a few months back. Had no issues with transfering this over to replace the subpar comcast equipment . Increased download and up up load speeds. Item has a fresh look and is more eys appealing. In time equipment pays for itself, rather than monthly comcast equipment fees. On any given day 5 phones and two TVs are pulling wifi, I never notice any lag.Dec 28, 2019 23:10
It's a great way to save $$ but the range is bad.Dec 30, 2018 12:43
Connect to the Internet with this TP-Link Archer C7 router. It works with 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands simultaneously to satisfy your bandwidth requirements, and three high-quality external antennas increase the signal distance without sacrificing speed. This TP-Link Archer C7 router has one WAN port and four LAN ports for wired connections.
First of all I was very happy how fast Best Buy got this item to me. They matched the Amazon price, about $9 off and got it here faster than Amazon would have. I believe it came from California and arrived earlier than predicted just in time for the install of my new cable internet. It sends the signal much further and stronger than my old DSL duel line CenturyLink modem/router. The WPS button the the back is hard to see and I found it later as an after thought. Be careful, if you hold it to long it turns off the wifi because it is also an on/off switch. I accidentally turned it off and had to look a lot closer to see what I was doing. It is easy to set up with the Tether app you can load on your cell phone. I had it all set up even before the cable service brought my free modem. In the 5G mode I get the full 100 mbps and about 80mbps at the 2.4G mode. My extenders were almost not necessary as the signal is very strong. I used one extender to mimic my old wifi SSID and password so I wouldn’t have to reprogram some of my devices. With Alexa, I have many. Also, my Netgear EX3700 that would only work 10 feet away from my Century Link modem now works at any distance from the router which made me very happy. So far everything works great and it was very easy to set up. Great product, I recommend it if you want something very good at a good price.Apr 24, 2020 22:30
What makes this router more advanced than other wi-fi routers is that you can connect to it via an app on my smartphone called Tether app (pic 01). Just makes things easier and more convenient for me and my family. I'm used to connecting via web browser so I had to consult the manual and it was a quick setup process. This Archer C7 router also has 2 USB LED plug ins, which I can connect my external drives directly to so I can open documents or print files or pictures quickly (pic 02). Good wifi range for my 2-story house. Sufficient connectivity overall & haven't experienced the inconsistencies others have with this router. Also like how much thinner & less bulky this router is compared to my older TP-link router.
Well recommended. Submitted as part of sample program.Nov 15, 2017 20:43
The TP-Link AC1750 router has been performing well for my needs. Setup was easy and is working well with my Netgear Nighthawk cable modem. I turn-off the router every night before bed and it always restart without issue the following day. Wifi speeds are excellent and I'm getting more range with the AC1750 over my previous Arris modem/router which is a plus. I have 5 to 10 devices connected to it at any given time. No issues when gaming on my PS4. Stream HD 1080P and some 4K.
One con with the router is that when I try to connect my HP Envy laptop to the 5G, it shuts down the 5G band and I have to cycle the power off/on to get it back. The work around is to connect it to the 2.4G instead. All my other devices do not exhibit this problem. Overall I am happy with this router.Mar 24, 2021 16:14
The router has been working flawlessly all year. I set it on low power, which fills my 3-bedroom home and is all that I need. It works fine with Spectrum internet.Nov 19, 2021 20:53
This works great for what we needed it for. We had a router that worked fine, but when my son moved into the trailer behind our house, our internet wouldn't reach up there so he could use his pc up there. So he asked a tech guy who has a small computer shop in the area, who suggested this router. It works pretty darn good! He can now link up to our wireless network and get on his pc. He's very happy. I'm surprised it worked this good since we live in the boonies with lots of trees and brush around. The trailer is 75 feet behind the house, so if you need something like we needed in our situation, I highly recommend this router. If it works this good outside of the house, imagine how good it will work inside a house for dead spots!Jul 20, 2017 19:28
Solid router/access point for basic (not super-fast) internet service, with SOME more advanced control options in the factory OS. Replaced my Verizon Quantum router with no problem for 200 mbps FIOS service. I also bought a range extender from TP-Link, and with a firmware upgrade the two devices now mesh into one seamless WiFi network - I no longer need to worry about changing device connections when I am in the backyard.May 10, 2021 15:29
This thing is the best router I've ever had.
I was having issues connecting to the WIFI at the far end of the house away from the router so I bought this new router. I now get the same #s on the speedtest from across the house! No issues at all after owning this for 2 months.May 18, 2020 17:03
I had recently upgraded to 200/200 fiber internet service and my old router (a 2005 Linksys WRT-54GL) would max out at 60mbps even on the wired connection. The new TP-Link Archer A7 is giving me my full upload and download speeds and the AC1750 dual band radio gives me much faster WiFi speeds. Because it also has a 5 Ghz radio, our microwave oven no longer interferes with streaming TV and other streaming apps. Set up was easy, but I plan on replacing the stock firmware with open source DD-WRT, which I was running on the old Linksys. While the stock TP-Link firmware seems stable, my old Linksys stayed up without needing a reboot for almost two years running DD-WRT v24 SP2.May 01, 2020 15:48
Enjoy a high speed and remarkable range with the Linksys R74 Max-StreamTM Wi-Fi 5 router. With speeds up to 1.9 Gbps to multiple devices at once, everyone in your home can stream and game at the same time without lag or buffering. It's easy to set up, and with automatic software updates and features, such as Parental Controls and Guest Access, your network will always be secure and up-to-date.
I would rate the product as excellent. Easy setup. It can handle all of our devices easily.Aug 20, 2021 22:39
Great Router, excellent price point and easy to install.Jul 03, 2021 18:04
My old router gave out after several good years, plus it was time for a bit of an upgrade anyway. Wasn’t looking for anything too fancy or overly robust, and I came across this model. Compared with a few others in the same price range, and felt it offered the most bang for the buck. Easy setup out the box, the companion app is easy to work as well. We’re a family of 4, with just as many TV’s and streaming devices, in a 1600 sq for single story house. They’re not always running at the same time, usually just 2, plus our phones and security system. I’m running 2 secure networks, which can each carry their guest network. This helps ease the load and keep bandwidth optimal for all connections. I’ve also got 3 “priority” devices - they’ll always get the extra bandwidth they need over other connected devices. Coverage and speeds are great in all parts of my home. I would definitely recommend for most at-home needs.Apr 18, 2020 11:01
You can't go wrong with a Linksys router! I am using this router to extend the Wi-Fi range from my primary router. My room is the farthest from the primary router, so I wanted to boost the wireless range. My Wi-Fi signal and speed have significantly increased with a second router installed. I am getting over 175mbps on my PlayStation 5 now (compared to 1mbps or slower before). I thought my PS5 had a hardware issue because I couldn't understand why my download speeds were extremely slow. My speeds were so slow that my games were estimated to take over 28 hours to download. I am so glad I decided to purchase a second router. This router has excellent range and I am very happy with my purchase. My ISP speed cap is 200mbps so I am getting close to the max speed I can get. Linksys routers are the best!Nov 01, 2021 14:11
This is a great product. It is inexpensive, but cover a lot of areas of your home with its 3 adjustable external antennas provide maximum range. It has a beam forming technology that follow your Tablet, Smartphone or Notebook to ensure a great connection as you move around. It has: 1 USB 3.0 and 1 USB 2.0 port to print, share and store content. Dual Core 800Mhz CPU for lightning fast processing. And 4 gigabit ports to connect wired devices. All you needed for a great home router.Nov 10, 2021 13:56
As routers go this one is functions well but what really stood out to us was the tech support we received from Linksys. We are in the demographic that you have to scroll way through the years to get to when filling out surveys and we can safely say that tech definitely is not our first language. We needed assistance setting up this router and called for support. I won't go into the details but our support person was extremely kind, patient and never gave up on us in spite of our inaptitude. Thank you Linksys for hiring Kelly, she is an asset to your company! Thank you Best Buy for the ease of ordering online and store pick up.Jul 18, 2020 10:09
Love the router. Had to upgrade my router. Works great, for my tv, lap tops, phones, or what ever deice I need it for. Simple use to set up, manage the router as well. Bought the product at Best Buy during the Corona Virus time period, process with Best Buy was great. Simple with BEst But online purchase, then went to store to pick up. They brought it out. It was awesome.Apr 24, 2020 15:52
Linksys - AC1900 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 5 Router seems to be working fine. The Sales Person who helped me seemed very knowledgeable about the product. I didn't previously have Wi-Fi in my home so was nervous about installing myself but I did it.Oct 23, 2021 08:44
The NETGEAR Dual-Band AC1750 Router with 16 x 4 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem provides very fast cable speeds with an AC1750 WiFi router and integrated DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem, up to 680 Mbps. Compatible with cable Internet providers such as XFINITY from Comcast, Spectrum, Cox, Cablevision, and more.
I decided to ditch paying for the router rental though xfinity. This one is compatible, smaller and works great. The instructions were easy to follow. Eventually it will pay for itself.Apr 10, 2020 19:57
I purchased the Netgear-Dual Band AC1750 router to replace the xfinity router which carried a monthly rental fee.The sales rep at Best buy was very knowledgeable in helping me choose this modem.Only having this modem for 3 weeks it seem that I have made the right chose.Jul 05, 2019 17:03
Cox communication recommends this router. I have multiple users and multiple devices and it can bogg down the speed but this router replaces the internet company router and the wifi router all in one.Sep 05, 2017 15:42
This is a very good router modem it works fantastic the range is very high and the speed is amazing I had 50mb so I upgraded to 100mb with this modem router is even much better and fast, I'm using time warner so they rent the modem which was slow speed and range, so I decided to buy my own one so I don't pay them for rent and the modem they give you is not so good like this one, so is better to buy it your own one and if you want to have a good router modem I recommend this one a little more money than the other ones but you will be happy with it, you also can manage it from your pc smart phone and do a lot of things, I really like it so much I'm happy with it....Mar 31, 2016 12:35
I bought this to improve performance during peak hours. (I imagine not much difference if there weren't so many users) For comparison - I was using an SB6141 prior - and now I'm getting much more stable performance. I think my latency is a little worse connecting to my old router - but should be closer if I connect directly to the primary.
Bonus: Since it's also a router in-one. I went ahead and split my devices onto separate networks - to ease congestion.
SmallNetBuilder has a great series on networking basics which covers how to do this. Be sure to change the IP sub-range (192.168.xx.1) to prevent IP conflicts.
*How to check if your area supports it?
(if you go to 192.168.100.1 - that should give you access to your cable modem. If you see the channels 8+, odds are you have more to bond to. Although you can keep restarting your modem and see all the different ones it connects to)Nov 08, 2014 12:18
Works without any problem our provider is XfinityDec 05, 2020 15:56
NETGEAR - Dual-Band AC1750 Router with 16 x 4 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem - Black Replaced a router I rented from cox Works just as wellJul 18, 2019 10:39
Purchased this product to replace my Comcast rental and save $10 per month. The coverage in my 1600 sf house is excellent and reliable. My past experience with NetGear products prompted this purchase.Apr 21, 2017 18:45
Create a reliable connection at work or at home with this TP-Link wireless MU-MIMO Gigabit router. The total available bandwidth capability reaches up to 1200Mbps so everyone can access the web with high speed. This TP-Link wireless MU-MIMO Gigabit router includes four external antennas and an internal one for optimal coverage.
I had spectrum plan of 100MBps but with old router I never received a speed with more than 20mb/s. I thought maybe problem was with the spectrum. I changed the router and noticed I get the desired speed. Also this works with both 5G and 2G wifi.Dec 10, 2020 03:38
The setup was relatively straightforward, and the router seems to work reasonably well. The user interface web page is a bit "dumbed down" and with fewer options than my old D-Link router (DIR-655). But it has the capabilities that I need, including the ability to put the MAC addresses of my devices into a whitelist so that only my devices are allowed to connect. I did not attempt to measure the actual bandwidth of my connections, but they seem more than adequate for my modest needs, and higher than my old router. It also seems to boot-up a bit faster than my old router.
I have only 2 minor gripes, though I was aware of them before I purchased it. (1) the antennas are not removable, so I could not replace them with longer, higher-gain antennas. But the signal strength I get at my furthest device is the same or slightly better than what I got with my old router. (2) the status indicator LEDs are on top of the router rather than my preferred location on the side. I place the router on top of a bookshelf to minimize signal obstructions from furniture etc. But when it's up there, I cannot see the status LEDs unless I get up on a ladder or lift the router off the bookshelf and tilt it so I can see the LEDs.Oct 15, 2021 16:03
I forgot to review this thing but I guess this gives me a lot of experience. I live in an apartment and this is perfect! I also utilize powerline adapters and this has been amazing with them. I always got the speed I wanted and the app makes managing my wifi and updates easyNov 10, 2021 11:42
Since social distancing began, my household has had 2 adults teleworking, one taking classes online, and 2 watching Roku. Our old wifi router wasn't cutting it. This router handles all these tasks easily, and hasn't needed to be reset since we got it 2 weeks ago. You can set up separate networks on the 5GHz and 2.4GHz channels or have one network that hops frequency based on performance. It also lets you set up a guest network separate from the password protected network.Apr 30, 2020 03:18
My Internet plan of 100MBps never-ever worked with old router. I barely got speeds of more than 20mb/s. I thought that it was a problem was with my internet provider. As soon as I moved to this router and noticed I began to get the desired speed. Also this works with both 5G and 2G wifi and the range covers the entire house - no need for an add-on router.Jun 21, 2021 17:51
It works real good -- That is what I wanted and that is what I got -- I have it going with a couple of super cheap AC1200 USB adapters (8 bucks each) on older laptops that needed help and can't believe how well it works -- Adapters are using the Realtek RTL8812BU chip -- So -- If your adapters or whatever are using same chip you can be pretty sure you will be happy with the this TP-LINKJul 24, 2021 15:20
For the price it is the good Dual Band Router with Giga Byte Ethernet Port.
Stable and reasonable Wifi connection for an apartment
Router interface ( setting page) is not easy to understand. But it is not a big dealJul 14, 2021 17:52
This wireless network device give me confidence when I am home. The reliability, coverage, security, and user-friendliness is awesomeOct 24, 2021 21:08

Archer C59 AC1350 Wireless Dual Band Router Version 2
*My Test Setup
Windows 10 Pro
AC1900 Wireless Dual Band PCI Express Adapter (Archer T9E)
Setting up the router for the first time is quite simple to do. Once you have everything properly connected, you’ll be online in less than 5 minutes. And when you’re ready to dig into the router’s more advanced settings to customize it to your liking, you’ll have plenty of options to dig into. You can set parental controls for certain users, as well as set up a Wi-Fi guest network for your guests, which keeps them off of your main network. Also, the router’s web management page is very nicely done, too. All the different settings are laid out perfectly and easy to navigate.
*Ethernet & Wireless Performance
After getting the Archer C59 router set up and running, I ran several speed tests while connected to the router over Ethernet, and Wi-Fi. Listed below is the current Internet plan I am subscribed to, and those speed test results.
My Internet Plan: Download 75 Mbps / Upload 10 Mbps
Ethernet Speed Test: Download 90.45 Mbps / Upload 12.15 Mbps
Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz Speed Test: Download 89.22 Mbps / Upload 12.05 Mbps
Wi-Fi 5 GHz Speed Test: Download 90.43 Mbps / Upload 12.18 Mbps
Those are great test results! And the router was able to easily handle multiple devices connected at once, streaming HD content and surfing without any issues. I also have a very large backyard area, and the router provides excellent coverage around my entire home. I can stream HD videos and music without any issues at all. I had 3 mobile devices all doing just that, and they all streamed perfectly, whether inside or out around the yard. For the best wireless coverage, be sure to place the modem in an open area of your home free of obstruction. Do not place the modem in an enclosure, under a desk, or block the vent-holes.
Best of luck setting your network up.Dec 01, 2017 17:08
I installed this at my in-laws house to upgrade their old D-Link router that had poor range to this one.
Install: 5 stars
The installation was super easy and straight-forward. A quick start guide is included with 5 steps. Basically turn off your modem, disconnect old router, connect new router, turn on modem and wait 2 minutes to startup, then turn on router (press on/off switch). Then connect to the router (wired or wirelessly) and go through the setup.
I was able to replicate the previous wireless names/passwords and an all the devices in the house connected to this new router seamlessly. No need to re-enter passwords for the most part.
Only one login is allowed into the administration page, so if you don't log out of the one you setup on, you won't be able to get in. I had to switch my laptop back to the original network (wired instead of wireless) and logout before I could access it from the wireless network.
The range on this router is far superior to the previous wireless router. Full signal strength to areas where I was only able to get 1-2 bars before. The house isn't very big, but has a lot of walls, that reduced the strength.
The 2.4Ghz wireless worked well for all the devices I tested. Only issue I had was a Surface Pro 4 (Windows 10) that recognized the wireless network as 2nd of the same name so had it listed twice, which was confusing. Had to make it forget the previous network.
The 5Ghz wireless worked for most of my devices since it was the first time they were seeing it. The only issue I had was a work laptop, Lenovo T460s (Windows 10 Pro) that wouldn't connect to the 5Ghz network for some reason. Finally gave up and switched it to the 2.4Ghz to connect. Good thing there's two wireless networks.
There are Guest wireless networks (2.4 & 5Ghz) available if you want, but it is off by default.
There is a USB port for network storage or printer. To get the printer to work, you need to download something from the TP-Link support site, to make it work, so I didn't try it.
Standard router features are available (port forwarding, UPnP, etc)
There is a VPN option available too which could be helpful for some.
Remote management also is an option.
The LED lights on the router can be turned off as well if you want it to run dark.
This is not a top of the line router (those cost 2-3 times more), but for the price, an excellent choice. It would give it a 4 star overall rating if comparing to more expensive routers, but at this price, probably one of the best you can get.

Initial user setup is straight forward and easy enough for the basic operation.
Built in guest wireless settings for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, with multiple connection options and wireless bridging support.
Throughput was good for at least 10 devices. Video streaming showed no stuttering or slowness even when multiple (4) concurrent devices were streaming at high quality (1080p 8MB/sec)
Two different SSIDs used for 2.4GHz (802.11bgn) and 5GHz (802.11ac) and you can disable either one if you do not use it.
Supports OpenVPN for outside access.
Usernames are case sensitive, I found this buried in the manual, not on the web administration page.
Passwords can not use extended characters, limited to a-z, A-Z, 0-9, _ ONLY, even for the external system and USB drive access!!!!
Only 1 administrator logged in at one time, so if you forget to log out of the web interface, you have to log back in reboot the router to reset
External remote management uses HTTP not HTTPS, I suggest not enabling this.
USB sharing only works through FTP access.
Parental controls are difficult to understand and hard to setup
The unit supports the standard set of wireless features such as NAT forwarding, QOS, Dynamin DNS and IPTV support.
Supports IPv6 connections on the Internet interface only.
The tether feature (mobile app) is a neat concept that works with your mobile devices, but it only works while on your internal network unless tied to a TP-Link account, which I never setup and oddly enough the app was locked into one orientation of my device, so I could not rotate my phone.
Daylight savings time off by default
All in all this unit is a good unit for what I would consider an 'entry level' dual band router. If you are on a budget, do not need any "geek-level" advanced features, this would work for you. It is not supported by DD-WRT, so you can not re-flash it for a different feature set. Signal coverage was excellent across my my entire single story home, including in areas where neighboring wireless routers could be detected. Also, just keep in mind that some of the default settings are not what you may expect them to be, so definitely read the user manual if you are going to enable any of the advanced features.

Works great for what I need! I seem to be getting faster speeds than advertised, which is a bonus. I only use internet for email, streaming TV, and general internet purposes (no gaming). 1750 sq ft house and i get solid signal everywhere. Works for me!Mar 12, 2021 17:52
I bought this unit to replace a 5 year old Cisco unit which started to drop wifi signal more frequent than expected, I was tired of rebooting it. This unit was very easy to hook and has stronger signal strength for sure. I haven't had any issue since I bought it a month ago. Also, the main reasons I bought this was its great value and good reviews by others after reviewing several other comparable items.Sep 08, 2017 19:24
I bought this router for WFH since I need strong signal for my work. It did the excellent work. I love it.Dec 22, 2020 21:14
For the price, this is a fantastic basic Wi-Fi router. If you want to upgrade from Wireless AC from Wireless N, but don’t need a powerful Wi-Fi router, then this is a good choice. It is nice to see advanced features on this router, especially at this price point. For instance, it comes with parental controls, QOS MU-MIMO, Beamforming Technology, VPN Access, and a USB port. It also has 3 high gain external antennas instead of 2 which is normally seen on similar routers.
Though you have two methods to setup this Wi-Fi router, I recommend using the Tether App to configure it. The overall process took me less than 5 minutes. In my tests, I found 3 antennas (instead of 2) made a really big difference in coverage and reach of the Wi-Fi signal. I tested this against a similar Wireless AC router with 2 Antennas, and also a Wireless N router with 3 Antennas. I found it could also handle many connected devices at once. Naturally, when I added a lot more devices (15 connected devices) to stress test it, things started slowing down a little. It is also important to note that the Ethernet ports max out at 100Mbps. Hence, this is best suited for smaller homes with a < 100Mbps internet connection coming in.
I find that this is a perfect Wi-Fi router for non-power users that only have a moderate number of simultaneously connected wireless devices, and don’t need any of the very advanced features found in more expensive Wi-Fi routers.

Have not had any issues, this appears to be working very well, no complaints!Mar 14, 2021 05:15
Get faster browsing speeds on your devices with this TP-Link dual-band router. The Wi-Fi 6 standard provides faster speeds than 802.11ac for improved performance, while MU-MIMO and OFDMA multiuser technologies work together to accommodate more devices and reduce lag. This TP-Link dual-band router boasts a 1.5 GHz Tri-Core processor that controls bandwidth-intensive activities for smoother streaming and responsive gaming.
Installation is quite easy. I have 200 MBPS connection and have retained the speed better compared to previous routers. Almost two weeks and I did not require to restart the router. Holds up well.Jun 26, 2020 17:39
Perfect router for the amount of devices I have connected at any given time in any area of the house. I ordered it online and had it shipped to the store and had it says sooner that expected. I would recommend this product and actually did to a co-worker of mine who ordered the same same router and modem as I did pictured within days of me giving the recommendation.Feb 12, 2021 17:13
The AX1500 was bought to supplement my Apple Airport Extreme Network. I ended up using the AX1500 to be the main router that assigns IP addresses and used my Airport Extreme to extend my network. I used the same wireless network name for both the AX1500 and Airport Extreme and the two are working well with each other. Since the AX1500 has Wi-Fi 6, it's been 3 x faster than the Airport Extreme when using another device that is Wi-Fi 6 compatible. This purchase was well worth the $$. My network usually has at least 5-6 devices that are surfing the internet or streaming 4K movies and the AX1500 has been handling the traffic without a hiccup.Apr 17, 2020 15:55
Bought the router to replace my old Linksys EA9500, assuming the AX protocol would help with my AX devices in the further corners of the house. I’d say I saw a marginal improvement over the Linksys with AX devices and a marginal degradation with non-AX devices, but perspective is, i was comparing to a router 3 times more expensive even today, than this one. I returned this because I already had a great router, but for anything even 50% more expensive, I’d say this router wins. Highly recommend.Apr 24, 2020 16:35
I bought this router so I wouldn’t have to pay the five dollar per month rental fee for the spectrum router, and I would have to say that it not only works as well as their router, but maybe even a little better. We stream on multiple devices and rarely notice any lag time.May 03, 2020 07:11
This was replacing an old Linksys router that decided to call it quits one day.
Speed is not an issue with this item i am consistently receiving 280-300mb down and 120-150mb up. My previous router would max out an 100mb up or down even though it was a gig router.
The Wifi range is amazing signal strength of 80% or more with in a 1500sqft home. I dip into 40-50% when i am in the back yard.
Interface is not as fancy as the linksys which was made to be more "idiot proof". The setup is easy but tweaking the details and fine tuning i originally got lost in the menu screens.
Overall fantastic product, Great performance for the price.
Streaming HD 4K, Online Gaming, and running other smart devises work seamlessly after setting it up.Aug 07, 2020 12:01
Great router. I had this for a month now and the performance has been flawless till now. I got this route to replace my old router. With my old route, the wifi speed was hardly 5 Mbps. With this router, my wifi speed jumped around 100 MBPS even when I have all my devices were on, I usually have about 12 devices using the wifi at a time. My current modem has a max of 100MBPS out, so the speed might have been higher if my modem had higher output.Apr 30, 2021 08:46
This is a great little router. I love the fact it has an app and is basically a plug and play router. I connected it to my aris surfboard and plugged it into an outlet. Afterwards, I used the app to setup the network. There are quite a few setup options that you can configure, but I would say maybe it would the last 20% that are really in depth you would need to use the older web portal instead. I dedicated the 2.4g one to my smart devices and 5g for phones, laptop and gaming systems. I live in a 1k sq ft apartment and I have signal from end to end with speeds over 100Mbps on average. I have spectrum for reference. I don't have any wifi 6 devices so I can't attest to that aspect.Jan 31, 2021 12:59
Create a centralized home or business network with a strong signal by using this TP-Link whole-home Wi-Fi router. The 2,500 sq. ft. coverage lets you reliably connect devices, even when outside or on the other side of the building. This TP-Link whole-home Wi-Fi router features Deco Mesh Technology to select the fastest connection automatically.
Great unit and easy to set up. Extended range throught 2 outer house walls throught-out my neighbors home that "butted-up against mineOct 31, 2021 23:40
Works pretty good. Adding it to my Deco mesh network was pretty easy too. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is that I can't get my USB hard drive to work with it on the smart hub. That was the primary reason I bought this and it doesn't work. I would also say that the instructions are really lacking. The only mention of the USB Hub in the user manual is in the picture that shows the USB connection.Feb 07, 2021 12:05
Works as expected with my existing system. I already a 3 pack, just needed this single pack to cover my home with wifi. This fit the bill perfectly.Sep 06, 2021 07:41
This system has worked faultlessly in my house, where I had had issues with routers previously.
This single “puck” is the only place I’ve been able to find that sells individual routers, perfect for building out your mesh network further. Nice job stocking this Best Buy!Aug 23, 2019 17:38
Heads up, you have to manually update the firmware even when the Deco App says that it is up to date. This model does not have a web interface so it gets tricky. There are better options to you out there.Jul 15, 2021 12:32
Great router to stream TV with high quality and fast download speedsJul 25, 2020 10:01
I returned this item because we thought it was wireless and no so big. Very awkward hard to make it inconspicuousJan 11, 2021 11:27
The TP-Link Deco AC2200 was very easy to setup using the downloaded smart phone app. It has been working flawlessly since I installed it. I especially like the ability the smart phone app provides for monitoring my network and all devices connected to it.Apr 30, 2020 10:13
Enjoy high speeds across multiple devices with this TP Link Archer AX6000 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Router. With four times the throughput, it connects through 11 ports, and the eight precisely targeted, high-gain antennas deliver strong coverage throughout your home. This TP Link Archer AX6000 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Router eliminates interference to provide smooth, stable signal connections.
I had a Lynksys router that had extreme output and was also MU-MIMO, but I have high tech home and I am always adding more tech. So, I needed something that has great output and can handle more connections, like WIFI 6 can do. I also needed 8 Ethernet ports for all of the hubs. I also have about 28 connected devices like Apple TV, Rohu, 4 TV's, game console, Hue lights, cell phones, computers, iPads, etc. This things cranks out great speed. I am limited by my service at 400 mbs, These same speeds are throughout my first floor and reaching 200 on the second fl of a 3000 sq ft home. No lag, no buffering on any streaming device. I don't need a WIFI extender as well. This is my first TP-Link since I has ASUS and Linksys before. The ratings are quite high in comparison tests and they are accurate. This is easy to use and setup as well. I could not find a mesh system with that many Ethernet ports. That is why I am using this great router.Dec 04, 2020 16:15
Bought this router to upgrade my home network. I had good experience with my TP Link Archer C7, which now serves as a WiFi extender. Set up was easy - I used the tether app mostly. Love the built in speed test, parental controls and security features. Instantly saw a jump in speeds over the C7 from 250 mbps to 350. It’s a big router but it fits on the shelf where my old router sat. It’s only been a day but I’m feeling good about the upgrade.Oct 20, 2020 07:49
On a wifi6 device I got the same speed as wiring it directly. I came from a n600 so this was a huge upgrade. So non wifi6 devices did see a boost also but again I upgraded from n600.Apr 24, 2020 16:07
Router speed and coverage are great in my 1400 square feet home. Setup and instructions were great. Like the mesh capabilities. Works well with same brand wifi extender. Overall pleased with purchase and the price was right.Nov 14, 2021 19:44
I like this, because the tp-link link let you know how to fix with video that for internet access problem. So Netgear does nothing. And also, HomeCare is no fee for Lifetime. So Netgear is no fee for a year.Nov 20, 2020 21:38
It’s was okay in my speed tests but I returned and upgraded to the ax11000 which still doesn’t handle 100 devices very well.Sep 25, 2021 16:11
I have returned this router within BestBuy's return window.
Router performance was awesome, reached corners of ~4000sq house and a detached garage without issue. Easy to use, very fast, handled upper 30 devices with 4 kids streaming class work (streaming Microsoft Teams and Zoom), teacher wife doing virtual teaching one day a week and me working from home.
WAN Port would randomly go to "unplugged" / "disconnected" depending on where you looked (iOS app or Webpage). When problem occurred, all devices would still connect to the Archer but the Archer would not connect to the AT&T provided router (1GB Fiber Arris BGW210-700). Note this AT&T router has been in use for months and has been feeding my pre-wired house (only bypassing it to get better WiFi range). Regardless, I swapped cables, put a dumb switch between the Arris and the Archer but problem remained. Contacted TP-Link Support and really didn't get that far (was told to force 1GB Full Duplex or 100MB Full Duplex). Didn't think a 4 day old router should require that. Unplugged the WAN port and plugging back in (either side) did not resolve, had reboot or power-off the Archer.
I really did like this router and wanted it to work, but after having problems and seeing other reviews with similar issues (some reviews indicated worked great for months then WAN port failed). I decided to return and go with a different brand.Nov 09, 2020 10:04
Consistently been exceeding performance. This works great inside outside and then my basement!Nov 17, 2021 16:17
Improve streaming video performance in your home with this TP-Link Archer wireless dual-band router. The 5.0GHz band delivers 433 Mbps for smooth gaming and video streaming, while the 2.4GHz band works well for email. This TP-Link Archer wireless dual-band router has a guest mode that lets you share access without compromising security.
We had a dead spot in house .The router improve speed and it doesn't drop speed anymore .I can know watch video online without getting disconnected all the time.Aug 14, 2020 16:55
This is a simple product to use. It does what it says it will do.
Plug the Ethernet cord into the correct jack; wait till all the lights go thru their start up cycle and wifi is good to go.
Then register your devices with the password.
Once that task is completed the router is available.

Setup took way longer than it should have, app is pretty poor. If I had to do it again, wouldn’t have bought this one.Sep 18, 2020 15:50
My son put it together. It works. That's all I can say.Oct 04, 2019 15:54
One of the worst routers I have bought. Doesn't allow devices to connect and keeps saying ip address cannot be obtained. Tried resetting and changing the settings. Nothing seems to work.Jun 10, 2020 09:47
Wi-Fi 6 technology has redefined home WiFi. Experience up to 3x faster speeds, higher capacity, and reduced congestion overall compared to the previous AC Wi-Fi 5 standard. The Archer AX50 4-stream dual-band router reaches speeds of up to 3 Gbps, for a buffer-free 8K/4K streaming and gaming experience. With more and more devices in your home, your current router will likely begin to slow down. The Archer AX50 lets you connect more devices via OFDMA technology, eliminating network congestion that occurs with too many connected devices. Dual-core processor effortlessly handles all your streaming, gaming and smart home devices. Archer AX50 also provides you the strongest, most reliable WiFi coverage with beamforming technology and 4 antennas. The Archer AX50 works with all previous WiFi standards and all WiFi-enabled devices. Setup in minutes with Tether app.
Excellent bang for buck when looking for a WiFi 6 router that has a bunch of nice features and comes from a very leading company in the field. I've only had the router a month now but can already notice better coverage in both distance and speeds. If you have a million wireless devices in your home than this is a great choice if you are simply looking for a better way to manage all that traffic on your network.May 19, 2021 05:06
This is a terrible router. I bought it to replace my 5 year old Netgear router that was starting to go. I thought this would be a good alternative. I was wrong. Unfortunately, Best Buy's return policy is only 15 days and I was unable to even set up this terrible device until after the time period expired, so I'm stuck with thisover priced piece of garbage. In the future I will likely look to this time of item from a store with a more generous return policy.
The router is constantly dropping the signal in both 2.4 and 5 bands and does not play well with other devices. I have changed the setting and used the TP Link set up wizard. I have reset it and manually configured and nothing works. I can't even get it to connect to our TP-Link extender. Sadly I am going to have to shell out more cash for a different router, which I will not get from Best Buy.May 17, 2021 09:18
The router was easy to set up and configure. The connection has been reliable. However, I'm not getting the WiFi speeds I was expecting on my WiFi-6 devices. I'm not sure if the issue is with the configuration of the router or just issues with WiFi-6.May 07, 2021 15:32
Easy to set up really good speeds of as high is 860 megabytes per second I'm getting now like the fact that it's future-proof Wi-Fi 6 tp-link ax3000 model ax50 good work tp-link thank you. I've had my Wi-Fi tp-link for almost one month now with no problemsJan 31, 2020 16:28
pretty user friendly UI software and good connection. mesh network isn't that great. would rather just use a single 2.4May 22, 2021 19:50
Great performance for the price! Definitely worth considering over renting from an ISP.Oct 14, 2021 07:39
We needed extra WiFi help with the whole family being home due to the pandemic. After installing we noticed much faster connectivity & signal strength throughout the house.May 22, 2020 16:46
The set up and registration was a bit of a hassle, but we have had no problems since the first day.May 15, 2020 16:55
The NETGEAR XR300 Nighthawk® Pro gaming Wi-Fi router optimizes your network performance by dramatically reducing lag to deliver a smoother, improved online gaming experience. Compatible with various gaming systems, such as Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, PC, mobile devices and more, its advanced dashboard shows real-time bandwidth utilization by device, ping, and many other parameters.
This piece of technology has absolutely changed my perspective on playing Call of Duty online.
Just to give you some of my experiences and if you play Call of Duty or maybe any other online game that you would feel what I'm telling you right now.
There's times that you join a Lobby and it's okay, you kill people, they kill you nothing funky, no lag spikes but after two, three matches suddenly you can't kill anyone and when you shoot somebody that's all they do is run away from you.
And then there's those games where you're in a great lobby but you have to go get something to eat or you have to run some errands and you come back and you join another game and you can't kill anyone or you feel behind when you shoot your weapon.
The best part is when you get shot you feel like you just been melted by the bullets but when you try to shoot someone it takes a lot of bullets.
The xr300 removes the bad part of online video games, don't get me wrong since you're playing on a better connection so is the other guy in the other side of the TV.
I live in South Florida, Coral Springs 30 minutes from Miami. Let me tell you something that has opened my eyes about this geofliter. I'm playing Black Ops 4 right now and the local nearest dedicated server is Chicago or New York City.
This thing allows me to set my distance of 500 miles and I'm actually connecting to peer host people with the lowest ping possible.
The geofilter shows you on screen what hosts are on and what your ping is on that host.
So far it's working for me. I'm playing on the best connections I've ever played in the last 8 months with Black Ops 4 and I'm Blown Away. Hopefully it keeps it up and it doesn't let me down and I'm looking forward to the new Modern Warfare.
Here's a tip when I was installing the Netgear xr300 it was trying to update but it just kept freezing and it wouldn't update on my PC, so I had to download the app and finish the installation through the app.
If you have a lot of people in your house make sure you go to settings> Lan and reserve your IP to your Xbox or your PlayStation so you have no conflict with or IP addresses.
The best part about this is the Qos. I can actually make the priority of the connection go to my Xbox.
So if you have people watching Hulu or Netflix or your little brother trying to play Smash Brothers in the other room you can kind of hog the entire connection.
If you do decide to buy this through Best Buy make sure you get the 2-year Geek Squad warranty because I was reading on Amazon and people were complaining that they're Netgear went out with an 8 months.
Now there's just a couple things that I noticed when trying to connect to other Peer host.
Most people play Team Deathmatch in Call of Duty but I was looking for a domination match but I couldn't find one the first day trying the xr300 because there was no host hosting that game mode. But the second day I was able to find few host for domination.
And only a couple times I had to wait at least 5 minutes to wait for a host available then I can join the lobby. When the host is available you'll see like a little person and that means that it's ready to go and join the match. But once you're in the lobby and just stay and play as many games as you can.
Now here's the thing with ping AKA latency.
If your ISP already has high ping during peak hour, there's really nothing much you can do about that with the xr300.
The Xbox usually Ping's to the Seattle server and my ping fluctuates from 58 to about 90.
But now that I'm connecting to someone 500 miles away I really don't notice that high ping.
But you can control the quality of service on who gets what in your house that Hogs up your bandwidth because that will raise up your ping when you're playing online games.
Overall I think it's a pretty neat technology that will help you connect two players that are alot closer to you for the best possible connection.
Good luck.Aug 09, 2019 21:00
As a Long Time broadBand Engineer I found the Operating system on this router robust enough for my needs and easy enough for the layman to set it up with out help! Will be using the router more over the next year! And would suggest it for a medium cost router fast enough for 15 devices pleasantly surprised!

Have been using the router for a month now and it has been great for gaming. Love that ability to control my ping threshold and only play on low latency servers. Wired connections were great and very impressed with wifi gaming as well. No sign of lag with over 30 devices connected to my network. Definitely great gaming router.May 28, 2019 16:19
Good to add some wifi to thje house. I didn't see any improvement on gaming.Jul 23, 2021 22:50
This is a great entry level pro router with a robust and feature packed GUI, DUMOos that is great in my opinion. Lot's of features and customizability, especially tailored for gamers or someone who requires/want's full control of their network. I install these in all my friends networks that I help with.
Just remember this is an entry level router, so if you're powering a big household, gaming consoles, streaming, pc's, tablets, smart gadget's, tv's, appliances, and other connected devices, this is not the router for you, get the xr500 or newer models. This xr300 is ideal for smaller home networks and apartments, with a reasonable device count for 2/3 people.Dec 30, 2020 00:42
I downloaded the app and followed all directions. The device did not work. I called for tech support, was on hold for 20 min, but the advisor had a very heavy accent, and also a loud hum on the line. I notified her about the hum, and she put me on hold - another 12 minutes to wait. TOTALLY too long wait times. The second advisor I reached helped me fix the problem, but it took resetting the router three times. The instructions that come with the router are minimal. Basically, no instructions other than to download the app. I can't understand why this doesn't just work out of the box like Amplifi router I bought for me home last week.Nov 02, 2020 12:58
Our modem was giving us 200 Mbps, but this router knocked those speeds to 130 Mbps, which only made our devices run slower and lag much more than before. So much for "Pro Gaming".
The customization settings are great, especially the QoS, but that's pretty much useless when your speeds are gutted like that.
Please, someone, anyone, tell me I'M doing something wrong.Jul 25, 2019 16:27
Have used netgear products for over a decade and never had an issue. Very reliable and easy to set up.Sep 11, 2020 16:48
