Nice build quality, appears to be all aluminum, attached cables feel durable. Using with a 2019 16” Macbook Pro. HDMI display output works perfectly (using a 1440p monitor @120hz). The ethernet, 100W PD, and USB ports work as intended with full bandwidth. Have not tested the NVMe drive yet but their website states its given 10gbps of bandwidth so I would expect slightly under 1GB/sec speeds max. Overall extremely pleased with the quality and features.
Nov 09, 2021 17:40This compact adapter allows users to listen to audio through a 3.5mm audio jack and charge their USB-C smartphone at the same time. The adapter supports USB Power Delivery and Quick Charge 2.0 for fast charging up to 60 watts*, plus a 3.5mm audio port that delivers exceptional quality audio. 100 million smartphones have already removed the 3.5mm port, making this adapter essential for users committed to legacy 3.5mm headphones and speakers.
Just what I been waiting for I use my iPad pros for my DJing gigs and always have a problem with them taking a way the 3.5 audio jacks on the new ones and this solves that problem.
Nov 08, 2021 12:37HyperDrive 6-in-1 USB-C Hub for iPad Pro/Air is designed to work with select iPad models as well as most USB Type-C ports, this 6-in-1 hub features USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A and C ports, an HDMI port, SD and microSD card readers, and a 3.5mm audio jack that provides both headphone output and microphone input via a single port. Display resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 and refresh rates up to 60 Hz are also supported, along with Power Delivery.
This has let me use my IPad Pro more than I had before. It is also easier on the port the IPad Pro has. It is helpful.
Mar 27, 2021 21:45Expand your computer's USB connectivity options with the DragonTail USB 2.0 extender. The added length of the extender makes it possible to connect a USB device in tight places, such as between two USB ports already in use. The DragonTail USB 2.0 extender adds convenience when operating USB devices on a plane, in the car or on the go.
I have a Samsung Soundbar HW-N550/ZA and for you to install firmware or a update you have to get a cable like this one so you can download the programs on a flash drive and so you can install the download to the soundbar and you can use the cable to download movies, music, and anything you want to a flash drive. It is a good deal
May 10, 2019 18:09It does its job. I am able to transfer pictures, etc to my flash drive very easily. I'm glad I bought it.
Oct 31, 2020 12:43Well made. Fit my tablets OSG port snugly. Solved problem of losing connection.

Works great with my Laptop. Since I keep my laptop on my desk which is where my wifi router is I thought it would be more secure and faster connection via Ethernet, due to other home devices using same wifi router.
Nov 13, 2021 03:02Works great. This is just what I needed to increase my network speed instead of using wireless.

Works well and it is very useful accessory to my Samsung tablet
Nov 19, 2021 16:42Anker 5-in-1 USB C Adapter
The small yet very capable accessories must have for macbook or mini who comes with limited usb ports. After using it for a while, it is very useful on my mini because I can insert/pull out my external hdd without blindly scratching the backside of my mini (hard to look backwards). To be aware of, if you use mouse with dongle or usb cable, you might want to still connect it to the main usb port. It might lag a bit in my experience and it’s not even gaming.
Aug 11, 2021 11:28Use this to connect my work laptop to my second monitor as well as plug my external keyboard and mouse to so I don’t have to take the USB stick in and out of my laptop constantly.
Oct 29, 2021 15:51I wanted to be able to connect several items on the computer and selected the Anker. This was a very goo choice.
Oct 23, 2021 15:40I love Anker products, perfect blend of affordable and reliable. I wish they made many more electronics.
Oct 16, 2021 00:15Perfect use. Im mad I customized my laptop without choosing an HDMI port, that's the main reason why I bought this usb-c hub. But Im glad this exists, it's so useful. I love that it comes with a pouch to keep it in, it protects it.
Jul 17, 2021 08:10it really helped with reading memory cards and connecting to other things
Oct 16, 2021 08:38Easy to use. Use on iPad Air 4. Missing usb c port for charging iPad.
Dec 02, 2021 14:43Perfect tool. Love the sd card slot. Wish it have 2 hdmi outputs.
Aug 14, 2021 10:07There’s nothing more annoying than an accessory you want not being compatible with your hardware. But before you go purchasing all new devices, give this simple but powerful USB-C to USB adapter a try. Designed for Mac, iPads and other USB-C devices, it enables standard USB products to work with newer USB-C ones, increasing their versatility. It supports up to 5 Gbps for high speed data transfer between devices, saving you time. It has a short, braided cable that is both stylish and durable and a compact design that can easily go anywhere you do. Combine all that with the classic white design and you’ll love this Platinum PT-AFACA USB-C to USB Adapter.
I purchased this product to connect keyboard and mouse combos, plus wired controllers to our tablets. Works great.
Aug 27, 2021 17:21Seems good materials. Braided wire. The plugs work. What else can you say?
Jun 11, 2021 18:41Just What I needed! -To get my download of of my i pad. I had far to much on my i pad running out of room so I BROUGHT THIS USB ADAPTER TO WORK WITH MY FLASH DRIVE I BOUGHT AT BEST BUY. I BUY ALL MY ELECTRONIC THINGS THERE . I LOVE THAT THEY GIVE ME PLENDY .
: OF TIME TO PAY THEM OFF I HAVE BOUGHT 3 COMPUTERS ONE MAC AIR AND TWO I PAD PROS WHICH I JUST LOVE!!! I do ARt on them almost everyday!!!!!!!!
Sep 17, 2021 23:16Because my Mac port sizes changed, I had to purchase this adapter to connect everything to my laptop from a mouse to external & jump drives. I use it every day so it is necessary for me. In truth, it is the second one I purchased because the first one pulled apart from the cord. However, due to the daily use, the fact that it lasted over five years, & the cost being affordable, it was OK. I noticed the cost went up but that’s to be expected. This brand works well & it’s less expensive than the Apple version. I think it’s a good idea to have two or three of them.
May 21, 2021 22:59I purchased this for my iPad Pro. It works just as I hoped it would... I'm able to connect devices via USB to my iPad now! I use my iPad for writing and recording music. Most interfaces require USB-A. This works great for connections to keyboards and guitar. I'm really glad to have it.
Oct 23, 2021 05:03This cable is so handy dandy and it makes traveling with my tablet nice. It isn't huge and bulky and doesn't have miles of cord with it that all need to be tucked in somewhere. I can easily drop it in to my laptop sleeve and go.
Nov 06, 2021 12:04Bought this for my son’s Mac. He needed to format a drive for a usb. I bought a different brand and it did not work. This recognized the drives immediately and was able to format instantly.
Nov 05, 2021 22:03I was so excited to find this little gem because I was so disappointed with the thought of not being able to use none of my old USB cords on my new Mac desktop. This C adapter has helped me so much.
Oct 16, 2021 10:17Whether it’s social media, your calendar or online shopping, nothing’s more frustrating than a device with a low battery and no way to charge it. The Insignia NS-PCKCC3 3.3' USB-C to USB-C Charge-and-Sync Cable puts you in control, letting you power and transfer files from smartphones, tablets and other devices with a USB-C connection. Sync photos, music and other data quickly with 10 Gpbs SuperSpeed+ technology. This 3.3 ft. cable keeps you connected to everything that’s important.
Trying to find a good 3.1 C-C cable for my Sandisk portable ssd (hate the short OEM cable) and docking station, stumbled on this and immediately grabbed it. $19.99 for a solid thick, 3.3ft long , 3.2 gen 2/ 10Gbps, 100W PD, this cable is a steal for me.
Nov 22, 2021 21:50Anyone who needs the fastest possible USB connection from a supported USB 3 gen 2 port would be happy with this purchase. USB definitions are confusing at best so it took some research to determine which cable supports gen 2 and this was one of them. I use it to connect a multi-port usb hub and the results thus far have been stellar transfer rates.
Oct 30, 2021 09:43Nowhere near the advertised 10Gbps or even 5Gbps, it could be my hardware, but I doubt it. Consider a shorter cable for faster speeds, perhaps. The speed is much faster than USB 2.0.
Nov 25, 2021 12:21Works great with my Samsung Galaxy Note S10+, super fast charging. Would recomend to get a 45w wall charger to get really to the cable to its full potential. Amazing transfer speed for downloading and uploading to my PC.
Nov 07, 2021 12:53It's an usb c 3.2 gen 2 cable which will allow you to have faster transfer speeds if you have for example an android phone with an USB c port or if you need it for a VR headset. Your computer should obviously have an USB C port.
Nov 03, 2021 17:35Works well and price is right. 3.2Gen2 at 10gbps. Apple Thunderbolt 3 and 4 is rated 40 gbps but is mostly unnecessary for 99% of users. This is the cable you’re looking for.
Nov 25, 2021 19:23Works as advertised, fast data and charging. The only thing is that my phone keeps detecting moisture on the cable and shuts the usb port. This happens almost every time I use the cable for charging.
Oct 15, 2021 16:13Great build quality and the length is perfect for a gaming laptop setup if a hard connection is preferred.
Nov 18, 2021 09:10Instantly add standard USB functionality to your USB-C port to connect flash drives, keyboards, and other accessories. Compatible with all Surface models with a built-in USB-C port.
I purchase a iPad from Best Buy. I was lock out of my iPad and couldn’t get into the iPad and could not get your store to take the the letter off in front of the serial number the geek squad put on. I bought that iPad from your store in Dothan Al. Could get know help. Just think of all the money I put in that iPad on help. I
Apr 16, 2021 17:36Great usb-c adapter to use for standard usb port to your device.
Feb 08, 2019 16:41I bought this so I could access the dead areas on my phone and it has worked perfectly and as a bonus, I can now use my mouse on a my drawing tablet that is a bit finicky and I'm over the moon about it!
Dec 30, 2018 01:34I purchased this with the Surface Laptop Studio. It is essential since the new surface only has thunderbolt ports. Use this to hook up to the USB devices you already have. I was unable to notice any loss in speed from using this adapter. The Surface should come with one in the box.
Nov 06, 2021 12:20Microsoft surface adapter works as expected no issues, over priced but quality.
Nov 04, 2021 06:14I haven't had a need to use it yet but have tried it out and it works just as described and will work for what I need it for. This surface was purchased as a retirement computer and it and is components have been used sparingly but works great just like the one I already have.
Jan 15, 2021 18:10Product works as advertised and was at a perfect price. Checkout was seemless and store associates were helpful.
May 07, 2021 16:33Great product, super valuable to our day to day. I would highly recommend this product.
May 27, 2021 11:42Connect your USB devices to your Apple® MacBook® with this Insignia™ NS-PU396CA-WH cable, which features USB Type-A and USB Type-C connectors. Transfer speeds up to 5 Gbps ensure rapid response times.
Works great and no problems since I purchase this insignia type-c.
I use it with my MacBook Pro 13in 2020.
Nov 27, 2020 09:44Great. I bought two for a dual USB powered monitor. Now it's a dual USB c powered monitor.
Jul 09, 2021 16:52I have for over a year now. I purchased it for my Mac book so I can transfer data back and forth. I Love it!
May 22, 2020 21:59I have a small laptop and wanted the ease of using the mouse and this fit perfectly and was able to easily start working with it!
Sep 12, 2020 21:24New 2020 MacBook Pro with no USB-A port? No problem - with this dongle I'm back up and running with my tried-and-true DisplayLink Kensington USB 3.0 Dual Display Docking Station (K33972US) and 2 external Phillips 246E9Q monitors.
Jul 10, 2020 16:20Works just great it comes in handy for many of my products that I can attach or charge.
Nov 13, 2021 10:41I have my favorite music on my phone as ringtones. Great tool.
Aug 04, 2018 16:34It connected both my phone and my external hard drive perfectly with seamless operation great for the price
Jun 20, 2018 21:14Anker PowerExpand+ 5-in-1 USB-C Ethernet Hub
Great product, connects with MacBook Pro. Has all three usb ports, one ethernet port, and one HDMI port. I've used all the ports and they work great. Quick, easy, fast data transfer.
Mar 07, 2021 14:14I think this USB C hub is a good deal. It has three USB port, one for HDMI cable and one for the LAN.
Feb 26, 2021 16:48This was just what I needed for my MacBook Air. It’s got all the ports that I needed and it’s not bulky.
Jun 04, 2021 19:08If you dont see this potential of bridging connection via any usb c device for a ethernet adapter and the card reader is my favorite part. I am able to transfer data so much more efficiently or i can hook my Nintendo up for better internet ect... this device is well worth owning
Feb 03, 2021 20:08The Apple 30W USB Type-C power adapter offers fast, efficient charging at home, in the office, or on the go. While the power adapter is compatible with any USB Type-C enabled device, Apple recommends pairing it with the 13" MacBook Air with Retina display for optimal charging performance. You can also pair it with select iPhone and iPad Pro models to take advantage of the fast-charging feature. Charging cable sold separately.Apple Brand Store at Best Buy.Shop more Apple products
Good, I lost my charger with the cable so I had to replace it, customer service was great. I always get a great customer service when I walk into Best buy. The specific information needs to be at hand to be able to get the correct parts. It works great, I did have to go else where to find the cable because BB only had very short cables but I rather purchase my items from BB when they have what I need. Great Customer Service on the computer department, I wish I could give you all a raise!
Aug 21, 2021 09:32I am an Apple fan, and I am pleased with this adapter. You always need an extra adapter, and this one does not disappoint. I like to have Apple accessories to go with my Apple laptop, iPad Air 2, aInd my iPhone. My only complaint with Apple is that I wish all Apple adapters were compatible with all of my apple devices.
Jul 10, 2021 17:58When it comes to Fast Charging my Apple devices I go with Apple accessories to ensure maximum compatibility. These charge adapters are built to last and I always use surge suppression to help protect my investments.
Oct 22, 2021 15:55I purchased this for travel and use with my Apple MagSafe Duo Charger. Love the compact size. Love that it can be used anywhere in the world using the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit (purchased separately). Sturdy build. Doesn’t get hot in use.
Oct 06, 2021 00:06It’s expensive for such a small brick. But when you forget to charge your daughters iPad before a 4 hour car ride, the extra charging speed really saves the day
Nov 02, 2021 08:54Store rep recommended this product over the product that usually comes with my device. This one is so much better. Good recommendation and good product.
Oct 30, 2021 14:54Bought this to use with the MagSafe Duo Charger as the 10 watt didn’t work great charging phone & watch at the same time. This 30 watt does the job perfectly!
Oct 22, 2021 16:12I love this adapter. It charges very quickly especially with a toddler who is constantly unplugging his iPad.
Nov 09, 2021 13:14Connect to your network with data transfer rates up to 1 Gbps. The indicator light confirms data transfer. Compatible with all Surface models with a built-in USB-C port.
Haven’t had any issues, works as advertised. Used to attach Ethernet cables and a mouse
Jun 19, 2020 15:51I bought this as a add on for my granddaughter’s laptop. She is at college and the WiFi is spotty.
Nov 19, 2020 19:59The usb-c ethernet adapter at times looses connection. I bought the Microsoft version because of the reviews I read. I would buy this only if there were no other options available.
Dec 11, 2020 16:24Some of the other ones I've tried didnt work all the time... you get what you pay for in this case.
Mar 15, 2019 16:09Works great, I really needed the Ethernet port and it’s always nice to have another USB 3.0!
Sep 04, 2020 20:27Just what I needed to connect my Surface to my work network.
May 31, 2019 17:30Now that my children are doing online/remote learning for school (due to the Coronavirus pandemic), they are constantly relying on our Spectrum internet/Wifi router. However, as many of us know, Wifi connection is not foolproof, and my teens are constantly complaining that their connection is getting dropped during class time even though we should be getting 400mbps and they are sitting right by Spectrum's Wifi router! So I decided to connect my daughter's Macbook Pro (2016) directly to ethernet from the router. But MacBook Pro doesn't have an ethernet port, so I purchased this Microsoft-Surface USC-C to Ethernet adapter, and IT WORKS PERFECTLY!! You connect the USB-C to the Macbook Pro, and you connect the ethernet to the ethernet port on the adapter. And there is an indicator light that confirms data transfer/direct connection so you know it's working. Now I don't hear my teenager complaining! Thank you!
Oct 09, 2020 17:15Perfect for the Macbook. Now our kid can have faster service with an ethernet cord
Aug 14, 2021 09:22The Satechi USB-C On-the-Go Multiport Adapter helps make productivity portable. Designed for portability and convenience, the Adapter features USB-C PD charging, HDMI and VGA display ports, USB-A data ports, SD card slots, and Gigabit Ethernet, with two detachable USB-C cables - perfect for on-the-go or docked at your desk. With its sleek aluminum finish and plug and play design, the On-the-go Multiport Adapter enables you to work at your best wherever you are.
Sateshi has recently released a new 9-port USB Hub with USB-C main connector. The package comes with the hub, a 3.25-ft USBC-to-USBC cable, a short internal 4-inch USBC-to-USBC ribbon cable, and instruction paperwork. It comes with a 1-year manufacturer's warranty.
PROS:
---------
* The ingenuity of having the 4-inch rigid ribbon cable able to be stored inside the unit is great. It pops into place and won't come out by accident. There is a small tab the user can use to pull it out, but it stays securely in place while stored.
* It comes with a 3.25-inch longer USBC-to-USBC cable for possible longer-reach applications which is great. Not everything works well with the shorter internal 4-inch cable.
* Not only does the longer USB-C cable work with this product, but it is also a VIDEO-CAPABLE USB-C cable. This means, that if you use this cable between some portable video projectors to a USB-C connected phone/tablet, it will work due to this type of USB-C cable's capabilities. Not all USB-C cables are created the same - this one is of the high-quality variety.
* The hub has a gray matte finish and deterrent to fingerprints
* The instructions do not state this, but the ethernet port is a 1-Gig capable port. I have "Gig" internet and was able to pull 900+ Mbs both ways.
* USB-C PD good up to 100W
CONS:
---------
* The 2 USB-A ports available are both "SS" superspeed; however, they are 3.0 (or 3.1 gen1) and have a transfer rate of 5Gbs. It would have been nice for a new product such as this to have its USB-A ports capable of 3.1 gen2 speeds of 10Gbs. If you need higher transfer rates, you'll have to use the USB-C ports instead of the USB-A.
* No carrying sleeve/case to protect from getting scratched up during transit.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS:
------------------------------------
* The SD and microSD cards must be inserted with the metal contact points facing inwards, towards the center of the unit, so be careful not to force them into their slots upside down. The drawings on the hub may be hard to see depending on your lighting.
* HDMI is capable of 4K@60Hz. The VGA port is capable of 1080p according to specs. All of my monitors are HDMI-only so this was a wasted port for me.
CONCLUSION:
============
Overall, a great hub. With most monitors/TVs upgrading to HDMI, there isn't much of a use for VGA anymore. If the number of ports were to remain the same, another USB/USB-C port would be nice or even another HDMI port with functionality that would allow for dual monitors that allow for an extended display (screen1 and screen 2, not just a duplicated screen). I like the hidden 4" USB-C connector; that's a great feature. Perhaps a carrying case or pouch could have been provided to protect the nice finish. But functionally, it works great and would recommend to others.
Oct 01, 2021 11:00PROS:
- Comes with two USB-C to USB-C cords. One is long at 3.28 feet the other is short at ~3 inches. The one that is short slides into the device making it ultra-portable.
- Good selection of ports. All of them work well and are quickly recognized even when everything is plugged in at the same time. But they do report that “USB devices should not exceed an input current of 900mA”.
- No software needed!
- HDMI supports 4k60Hz (I believe HDMI 2.0). I was able to get 2k@144Hz on my monitor and 4K60Hz (non-HDR) on my HDR 4KTV that supports up to 120 Hz. You can Extend your laptop screen as well so you can use both at the same time at different resolutions and bit depth.
- I was able to plug in wireless gaming mouse, Micro SD card, SD card, USB thumb drive, USB-C iPad data port, HDMI (2k144Hz) monitor, and USB C to Lightning to charge my phone without any issues (other than it getting quite hot).
- Aluminum body feels sturdy with no creaking or issues. Ports don’t wiggle and have a satisfying feel when plugging things in and aren’t super tight but aren’t loose either. It’s small and lightweight making it very portable. Can fit in your pocket.
- I like that there is an ethernet port. As most laptops these days don’t have that and sometimes plugging directly in is appreciated. Especially, if you have a gaming laptop and want the best internet performance.
- Used it on two laptops, a Chromebook, and an iPad without any issues.
- With PC’s having less and less ports it’s nice to have options to expand them. Still don’t enjoy that I must go down that route though.
- USB-C PD Port can either work as a port to charge a device (phone) or can be used to charge the device it’s connected to (laptop) up to 100W. Or you can plug in a charger to the USB-C PD port, then use the other USB-C port to transfer data while charging your phone, while also charging your laptop. Which is awesome.
- Some users will be stoked to have a legacy VGA port that supports up to 1080p along with other modern age tech.
- Was able to get 4k60Hz on two laptops and a middle/upper tier Chromebook. But had to manually change to 60 Hz from 30 Hz. With no trailing or issues.
CONS:
- When you have everything plugged in at once the Satechi device gets quite warm/hot. To the point I went “hmm, probably shouldn’t put this on something that could melt.” The operating temperature is 85 – 125F. But when you only have a couple things plugged it doesn’t even get warm. If it does only mildly so.
- When using VGA, you can only mirror the device and not extend it. Can only do the same thing at the same resolution mirroring each other.
- Would have preferred the VGA port be something else. As I think the use case for that is limited. But it is nice to see in case you are plugging something into a legacy device or a projector. Especially, since finding anything modern that supports VGA is difficult.
Top:
1. USB-C Input Device
Left Side:
1. USB-C PD Port (up to 100W) (Does NOT support video)
2. USB-C Data Port (Does NOT support video)
3. HDMI port that supports up to 4K60Hz (HDMI 2.0 I think)
Right Side:
1. 2 USB-A 3.0 ports
2. Micro SD port
3. SD Port
Back:
1. 1080p VGA port (old school monitors/projectors)(Mirror Only)
2. Ethernet Port
Oct 01, 2021 23:19As much I enjoyed using my MacBook Air M1, the lack of ports can be a bummer sometimes. With just 2 ports it doesn’t take much to utilize both for charging and displaying to an external monitor. It’s an inconvenience having to unplug one of them to connect my external drive or USB receiver for my keyboard and mouse. The Satechi USB C on the go multiport adapter is the solution to my port problems.
A quick rundown of the specs:
1x HDMI port supports up to 4K 60hz
1x VGA port supports up to 1080P
1x USB C Port with PD charging up to 100W (15W is used to power the adapter)
1x Gigabit Ethernet Port
2x Full-size USB A 3 Ports for Data only
1x USB C for Data only
Micro/SD Card reader slots
One of the features I like is the ability to disconnect the USB C cable and store it away within the adapter. A longer cable is included in case it’s needed. Not only do I like this for portability but for longevity too. With multi-port adapters that have the cable attached you end up being at the mercy of the cable. When the cable goes out you end up with a paper-weight adapter. Having the flexibility of using the short or long cable is a big plus for me since depending on where I’m stationed, there are times a longer cable would have been handy.
I had no issues using the adapter with my MacBook Air M1 to connect my external 24inch monitor (1080p @ 165hz support too), USB receiver for my MX Keyboard and Mouse, external drive while it was charging my device at full speed. The same setup also worked on my Windows laptop. I was able to confirm that it worked with my iPad Mini 6 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and Tab S7+ with Dex Support. Now the adapter did get slightly warm but nothing to the point of concern when it was charging my devices like the MacBook and Windows laptop.
One of the features I wasn’t able to test was the VGA port. To be honest I’m still trying to find a reason that would be needed to be used now that most of the displays out there have transitioned over to HDMI and DVI out. Instead of a VGA port, I would of prefer to have seen another HDMI port to drive 2 monitors or a headphone jack.
Overall I was very satisfied with the Satechi adapter. It has a high-end look to it that looks like it was made from Apple itself. The color almost matches my Space Gray MacBook. It also comes in slightly cheaper compared to other multi-port adapters around this price range.

Oct 06, 2021 23:50**What’s In the Box**
User Manual
9-in-1 Multiport Adapter
4” usb-c cable
39.5” usb-c cable
**Ports**
1 HDMI 4K at 60Hz
1 VGA 1080p
1 usb-c PD (up to 100 watts)
1 usb-c data (does not support charging or video)
2 usb-A 3.0
1 SD slot
1 micro SD slot
1 Ethernet
**My Thoughts**
I have a Dell XPS 13” laptop. While I like it’s ultra portability, it only has two usb-c ports, one of which is a thunderbolt 3 port. The Satechi usb-c On-the-Go Multiport adapter provides the expansion ports that I need to connect peripherals. I’ve been using the Satechi multiport for the past several days, putting it through its paces on 9 hour workdays connected to the ethernet, a portable scanner, an external monitor, and a thumb drive all the while being powered through the laptop’s power charger connected via the usb-c PD port. I don’t have any complaints. It works as designed. It has performed nearly flawlessly. There was only one hiccup that I experienced in all the days I was using it. It failed to communicate with my external monitor which was connected via the hdmi port. I simply unplugged the hdmi cable from the multiport and re-plugged it back in and it worked again. Again, it only happened one time, so I’m not sure if the problem was with the multiport adapter or my laptop.
Here are some of the other things I like about the Satechi adapter:
+Compact Design: As you can see in the photograph, it fits in the palm of my hand.
+Well Thought Out Cable Management: The short 4” usb-c cable tucks away entirely within the chassis of the adapter.
+Quality usb-c cable: The 39” long cable is thick and sturdy
And some of the things I didn’t like:
-It gets very warm, but I suppose that is expected since it is drawing power through the device
-It can only support one external display at a time. If you have two external monitors connected, one with the VGA port and the other with the hdmi port, it will only mirror content.
**Do I recommend it?**
If you’re using an ultra portable laptop like me and have peripherals to connect to, then it is necessary to purchase a multiport adapter like this Satechi adapter. The online marketplace is saturated with these adapters. At the price point the Satechi adapter is being sold for at msrp, it is an expensive proposition. However, if you can get it on sale at Best Buy, then it is worth considering.
Oct 05, 2021 01:22Very cool little device. I won't get into what it has regarding ports since the product description does a great job at that already... But I will comment on the fact that it has an aluminum body so certainly has a look and feel that is far above ad beyond it's plastic competitors.
Packaging was crisp, protective, clean and simple. Unboxing included the unit, a small USB C to C chord that conveniently is stored in the body of the unit. It also includes a longer USB C/C cable as well. The longer cable is thick and also has a high quality feel. The only ever-so-slight knock (and yes, it is very small) is that the longer cable has thicker ends where you plug it in so if you have a tight phone case, it may be just slightly too large to fit. Certainly nowhere near a deal breaker, just an observation.
If you are a frequent traveler who ever finds themselves whishing you had item XXXX on you, this is a great little tool. I would recommend to a friend without any hesitation.

Oct 02, 2021 14:34This adapter, as named, is aimed at having one adapter to connect nearly anything you need to your laptop while traveling. It can be used as an at-home docking station, but there are some limits.
The appearance and build quality are top-notch. It’s a space grey, solid aluminum block with connections on all four sides. It’s a bit on the large side, but that’s due to the 10 ports and a storage bay for the 4” flat cable. A separate 1-meter cable is included, and both are USB-C to USB-C. Connections not common to small adapters are an ethernet jack and a VGA port as well as both micro and full-size SD card slots. Add those to 2 USB-A ports, 1 USB-C data port, 1 HDMI 4K connection, a 100W USB power pass-through port, and you have the Swiss Army knife of adapters. I’ve seen some questions about why the VGA port? However, road warriors can attest that there are still VGA connections out there in real-world conference and meeting rooms.
There are only a couple of drawbacks I’ve encountered that address why the “On-the-Go” is not an ideal desk-based docking station. With high-speed external SSD’s, my data transfer rate was more than cut in half compared to directly connecting to my laptop. Also, the 100W power pass-through is throttled back by some manufacturers. My Dell XPS dropped its charging rate from 130W down to 75W, not the potential 100W, and my Dell Inspiron dropped from 90W to 65W. This isn’t the fault of the Satechi unit, but due to the limits placed by laptop manufactures when not using their proprietary chargers or docking stations. Under heavy use, the slower rate may or may not keep up, but it’s way more than enough for less power-hungry laptops like my Surface Laptop GO (pictured).
This is a quality adapter by one of the best in the business. It’s built to provide every connection you might need while away from home bundled in one compact unit. If that’s your need, you can’t beat it.
Oct 04, 2021 11:45Satechi is by far the premier brand in this product line of ports, adapters card readers and docks and was an early pioneer of the type C. They are great at finding what people need and designing a product that fits like a glove. I own a bunch of different docks and card readers over the years but there is no match in the quality of product, the premium materials and the sleek well thought through design of the product.
You see this again in this little beauty of a multiport. The small usb c chord that literally slides and locks into the unit itself and pulls out to plug the dock into the laptop is genuinely perfect. It also comes with a longer one as well. I guess I just got so used to either having to pack along a cable or just accepted that device was just gonna have a long dongle hanging from the side to plug into the computer. We’ll guess what…it doesn’t have to. Satechi said…lets make it a sleek part of the unit that disappears till you need it. I didn’t even know how much I would love that feature. I carry this to work with my laptop everyday. I don't use my laptop everyday but more times than not. It is so nice to have this all in one unit that has it's cable on board to throw in my bag and always ready for what ever multimedia I will need!
I have a Surface laptop that does not have an HDMI. Not usually a problem but every now and then I would love to port that out to a large TV in a conference room via HDMI and now I have that plus plenty of USB ports and even an ole VGA if needed!!!! I also like that you can charge on one of the powered USB c ports to charge your headphones or phone ect. Nice touch.
This is a perfect blend of form and function! Great docking station as well. It can do it all!!!
Oct 03, 2021 11:04USB-C on the go multiport adapter is a great addition to anyone looking to connect multiple devices on their latest MacBook, iPad, or any slim laptops. This adapter/hub offers HDMI with a max resolution of 4K @60Hz, 100W USB-C PD passthrough charging for charging most laptops (need your own power brick connected to the hub), Gigabit Ethernet port, 2 USB-A 3.0 ports, USB-C data port, microSD / SD card reader slot and a VGA port (up to 1080p@60Hz).
What really differentiates this product from other cheaper ones with same specs at lower price is the build quality (aluminum)and the inbuilt hideaway USB-C cable for connecting on the go. This product comes with 2 USB C to USB C. One is small cable that hideaway in the body for compact/ portability. Other cable is a long(1m) for connecting your laptops at your desk.
This is a great addition to my workspace where I paired it with my gaming laptop(Z14) and Samsung 49-inch monitor that gives the convenience of connecting multiple peripherals like webcam, external hard drive for backup, and transferring pictures from camera’s SD card for content creations. I also take this hub during my travel where it fits easy without having to carry extra usb-c cable. Works great with M1 MacBook air, Chromebook, Microsoft Surface Pro-X, new iPad that was tested.
Only con is this hub does not support multiple HDMI monitors and will mirror and not extend your display if connected through HDMI and VGA port. VGA port has come handy for me at work conference rooms to connect the projector once.
Sep 30, 2021 12:44The USB Type-C digital AV multiport adapter lets you connect your USB Type-C enabled Mac or iPad Pro to an HDMI display, while also connecting a standard USB device and a USB Type-C charging cable.Apple Brand Store at Best Buy.Shop more Apple products
I absolutely love this adapter! I use it for my MacBook so that I can plug in an ethernet adapter but charge my laptop at the same time. Works perfectly!
Oct 04, 2021 22:15Needed this adapter for my dj mixer, also like that it has a hdmi port for video. Plus its clean looking.
Nov 13, 2020 21:06Took a call to get connected to MacBook pro, but seems to be working alright.
May 08, 2020 17:37It does exactly what I needed it to do, and I’m happy that it wasn’t anything complicated to get to work.
May 28, 2021 18:53Works as advertised as all Apple adapters do. Great product!
May 15, 2021 01:32Hopefully the adapter Is OK. We have the lightning version and it works well.
Unfortunately this one was packed in a flat envelope With no padding and sent by USPS. It got squashed. The adapter appears to be intact. I will be able to test it in a couple weeks when the device it goes to arrives.
Oct 30, 2020 21:09It never worked. I have a 2020 MacBook Pro and it didn’t fit in any of the four USB-C ports. When I put it in the port, it read,” USB Accessories Disabled. Unplug the accessory using too much power to re-enable USB devices.” I bought the product in June 2020, and didn’t have a need to use it until I started grad school in Jan 2021. Lol soooo can’t take it back, but am highly disappointed. I tried charging my laptop while plugging it into all four USB-C ports and still no luck. :( Don’t recommend..
Jan 04, 2021 15:16I ordered this adapter used, but the condition was described as "Open Box Excellent." Well, sadly, it is far from it. The adapter is covered in an array of scuffs on both sides and the cord has some weird color stains on it (see photos attached). It has clearly been in use for a while.
Overall verdict: pretty disappointing.
Apr 08, 2020 17:25If you’re like many busy people, you have a dozen things going on at once, and working on the computer is no different. You likely need your computer’s USB ports to connect a keyboard or mouse, transfer files and charge devices – it’s no surprise that there aren’t enough ports for everything. This hub helps optimize your workspace by providing four extra USB ports to connect accessories – simply plug it into your computer’s USB-C port. Transfer speeds up to 5 Gbps move files quickly and efficiently. Its compact size makes it perfect for slipping into a purse or backpack. You really can do it all with the Insignia NS-PCHC4A 4-Port USB-C Hub.
Honestly get it before Apple takes them off store shelves since they are not making money from extra ports from their version of a multi port bay.
Sep 17, 2021 16:01Wow this type C conector box is awesome. I have all my extra connections behind the laptop and doesn’t bother me at all. Very fast to. Check my pictures
Aug 06, 2021 16:21So worth it and so far it works great with all my devices.
May 23, 2021 06:12Unlike the j5Create USB Type-C Multi Adapter whose aluminum case becomes almost painfully hot to the touch when doing next to nothing, this device handles 3 USB devices (an external monitor, a wireless headset dongle, and a wired mouse) while barely feeling warmer than room temperature.
Sep 03, 2021 16:15The hub works fine, and it solves the issue of adapting for the new (and too few) connector slots on the newer M1 MacBook Airs, but the design isn't great.
The connecting cord on this is short and very stiff. It sticks out from the computer at a very weird angle and won't lay flat on the desk no matter which way it is connected. It makes it very awkward to place and prone to get tangled with other cords.
I find I have to keep my laptop near the edge of the desk with this slightly hanging off the side or it either pops out of the computer or lays on the laptop keyboard.
(It also only has the USB slots listed--some reviews mention memory card slots, too, but it does not have those, just FYI)
Mar 24, 2021 14:38This USB hub has been working fine for me. I've been using it for a few months. The only "problem" I had was that my USB headphones don't want to work in one of the ports and I have to plug them into another port -- I thought all the ports in this were the same. Otherwise, it's been working great.
Oct 17, 2021 17:42This hub has stood the test of time. It continues to work great. And I really appreciated the customer service I received in learning how to better utilize my MacBook Pro.
Nov 29, 2021 12:44I have not tested the speed of this product with software but I have used it in a USB 3 port on my laptop with a USB3 flash drive to transfer files and it worked very well and the files were transferred faster than my USB 2 hubs I know that for sure. Not only that I am impressed with the substantial heft of this product it seems very robust in build quality. So I would not hesitate to recommend it to someone else.
May 23, 2021 15:28Our USB-C® Multi-Port Hub with Power Delivery provides extra connectivity for your computer. Equipped with a USB-C® Power Delivery 3.0 charging port. It offers charging up to 60W when connected to a USB-C® power adapter. The hub also provides direct access to your SD™ & microSD™ memory cards. The audio/mic combo jack allows you to connect your headphone set or speakers.
The j5create dongle was a surprising find for me: at the time of purchase, it didn't have any reviews, and it's unusual I buy a product without a rating. I was not disappointed, but I was not impressed, either.
I originally bought this with the late 2020 MacBook Pro 13. I foolishly filtered my options based on what had a 3.5mm headphone jack, as I didn't realize the MacBook had one (an oversight on my end.) Regardless, the dongle proved very useful in all applications.
-Build Quality-
This is not a fancy aluminum device; it's one that gets the job done, looking decent while doing it (and at a good price.) It's made of glossy and smooth-matte plastic, but I have no doubts about its durability. Its labelling is not obnoxious, nor are its edges too sharp. It's a physically light device with a good, albeit plastic, build.
-USB C port-
The USB C port's power delivery capability is almost necessary, as the dongle takes up one of only two USB C ports on the lower end MacBook models. While I could not measure the difference in speed, I found that the charging rate is noticeably faster when the charging brick is connected directly to the laptop. The power delivery, as used through the dongle, is still sufficient to fully power my MacBook Pro 13" under full load.
-USB A ports-
Transfer speed: Read 373 MB/s Write test failed
When doing any task on my MacBook, the two USB type A ports helpfully allowed me to connect a mouse, keyboard, and/or thumb drive. Very useful for peripherals.
-SD Card Slot-
Transfer Speed: Read 74 MB/s | Write 61 MB/s
It's an SD card slot. Creators on Mac will probably need this. Speeds are underwhelming.
For the modern Mac user, the j5create is not a dongle to be slept on. I can recommend this well-priced device for any creator, office user, or even gamer on a new Mac platform.
Nov 14, 2021 13:49I got this for my 2020 M1 MacBook Air which only has two USB C ports. I’ve used the two USB A ports, HDMI and SD ports with no issue. I’ve learned that my MacBook doesn’t support two external monitors natively but that’s Apple’s limitation. I’ve read you may need DisplayPort monitors to work around this limitation.
Nov 14, 2021 09:14This is exactly what I needed for my new iMac. I have studio monitors and the USB adapter allows me to connect my focusrite audio interface. I’m also a professional photographer and this allows me to dump my raw photos onto my external ssd quickly. Highly recommend.
Sep 17, 2021 23:01I needed this to use the monitor at my job with my laptop, it does what I need it to and lets me charge my computer at the same time.
Nov 20, 2021 23:06It works great. I appreciate the help I received from the sales associate. I would have been unhappy with the adapter I intended to buy when I entered Best Buy.
Nov 12, 2021 15:59This unit has worked well so far. I have just used the USB and ports and not tried the HDMI, so I can't say I've thoroughly tested it. It always takes time to thoroughly evaluate a product, but I'm happy with it to this point. It works for my purpose--audio recording.
Sep 11, 2021 09:01It looks nice, and it works well. I use it with my new MacBook Pro. I use it with a USB wireless mouse, LG monitor, and external hard drive or to charge a USB cable device like a power bank.
Oct 08, 2021 17:53Great accessory to my Mac Book Air. It works well with the case I have on the computer.
Nov 21, 2021 12:06Connect a MacBook, Chromebook or laptop with a USB-C port to devices with a standard USB port with the Platinum USB-C to USB adapter. The adapter is fully plug and play, compact and supports fast 5 Gigabit transfer speeds. The premium housing ensures durability while providing a sophisticated appearance.
The Platinum USB-C to USB adapter is a tiny device that allows me to connect my PNY SSD to my Chromebook and it works perfectly. My HP Chromebook only has USB-C ports and I wanted to connect my external PNY SSD drive to my Chromebook.
The PNY SSD came with a USB-A connector so I needed a USB-A to USB-C adapter. After using the adapter, I was able to view and access the files on the PNY SSD from my Chromebook.
This adapter could also be used in the opposite direction to connect a USB-C device to a computer with only USB-A ports.
Very useful adapter and I can heartily recommend it to anyone needing such a device.
Oct 06, 2019 23:40I have always been a fan of Platinum products due to the level of quality and care they put into it. I was in need of a simple adapter to convert my USB-C into a USB for some legacy equipment. I had some cheap ones in the past that I always ran into problems where I would randomly loose connection on slightest movement. I decided to spend a little more and get the Platinum on which I am so glad I did. This adapter provide a perfect snug fit, no issues of connection drops however it is very small so try not to loose it! I do find it funny how they cram so much reading material in the small package. When I say cram I am not joking, the reading material is literally folding into 4 ways then thrown into the box. Overall I recommend this product !
Oct 15, 2019 17:07So the product works, but it adds extra space to the USB C area. Unless you have something you cannot replace with a USB C cable, I probably wouldn't go with this. If you do need to connect a USB A to a USB C only computer, then this will work.
Oct 27, 2019 18:33This is a short review because this just works. It does exactly what it is designed to do. I am sure you have many USB-A devices like mice, keyboards, external drives/flash, etc. All my new PC/Mac ( HP Spectre & MacBook Pro) have USB-C connections. This adapter allows all those devices to work seamlessly with those USB-C connections. Most importantly, all my USB drives now easily work with my two USB-C based computers. Nice!
Oct 08, 2019 08:35The Platinum USB A to USB C Adapter is a must have in today’s computer environment. Different kinds of computer tech like Laptops, Macbooks, iPads or Chromebooks, all have different kinds and speeds and connections. The plug in play USB-C adapter will carry information up to 5 Gbps to transfer films, documents, etc.
If you buy a new computer, no doubt it will have other connections than your 2 yr old computer. That is why the Platinum USB A to USB C adapter is so important. For example what if you do have a USB C connection but your mouse is a USB 2.0. What do you do? Get this adapter and transform the USB C plug into a USB 3.0 connection that fits your USB 2.0 mouse. The Platinum USB A to USB C will not disappoint. It has a tough exterior that looks and protects the adapter itself. Don’t pass this opportunity up to get a useful product.
Oct 07, 2019 17:02The must have accessary if you have a new laptop computer with only USB C ports. I bought two of them since I have two USB C ports on my laptop. These are very compact and there are no wires involved so they do not stick out very far from the laptop edge. A very clean look and uncomplicated set up. They work perfectly with no problems so far and they didn't cost an arm and a leg.
Oct 29, 2021 17:08Perfect little adapter. Everything else I looked at was at least twice the length. Very convenient - can leave it attached to my laptop even while it's in its case, without worrying anything will get bent. (and without worrying I'll lose it!)
Nov 26, 2021 14:40This is a must if you use Apple & Microsoft products. I am able to store files on my hard drives using this item. Bought a couple of them as they are small and can get lost easily.
Oct 31, 2021 18:11This 4K display docking station is perfect for your MacBook, Dell XPS, or other USB-C laptops requiring additional ports. Featuring a 4K HDMI output and a USB-C Power Delivery port that supports up to 100W pass-through, this USB-C docking station provides all the connectivity you need for enhanced productivity, including a Gigabit Ethernet port, memory card reader/writer, combo audio jack, and three SuperSpeed USB 5Gbps ports to connect your peripherals.
Saved me lots of money. My brand new laptop had only a micro SD card reader. When I realized it I thought I was going to have to return the laptop and buy a more expensive one containing a regular size SD card reader.
This saved me. In addition I got many bonus ports. Very happy I bought this.
Oct 30, 2021 12:13The HDMI port works flawlessly. USB ports work fine when connected with the mouse, keyboard, and the flash drive. However they do not work with the external SSD which is a big deal to me. When the SSD is connected to the USB port, it does not appear at all plus it also forces other connected devices to disconnected. I tried it on both of my Samsung SSD and my SanDisk SSD. They are both like new. They both work on my laptop bilt-in USB C port, but I thought I would use it for my audio interface. This means the three USB ports don't save me from this. Also, what is the purpose for the "power in" port? I thought it can be use to charge the phone?? It didn't do anything when I connected my phone to it. Is it supposed to be something else? I don't have any comment on the other ports because I've only tried the ones that are important to me for now. I don't want to return it, but if I can't find any solution to those isues, I might.
Nov 03, 2021 20:16This docking station was a perfect match for my MacBook pro. The cord storage is very convenient since I take this docking station with me when I travel. The usb-c fits perfectly in the Mac, a problem I have had in the past.
Oct 15, 2021 15:37My new j5create-USB-C 4K Docking Station is a great addition to my travelling computer package. I am still getting used to being a road warrior and this docking station is compact yet complete.
Oct 22, 2021 19:34works really well the one downside about macs is the lack of compatibility with other products but this helps close that gap
Oct 29, 2021 20:44It actually works where many, many others fail. Be sure to use your laptop’s power supply so that it gives power to everything.
Oct 22, 2021 17:24Enhance your music listening experience with this Samsung USB-C to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter. Featuring a 3.5mm audio plug on one end and a USB plug on the other, this adapter adds convenience by letting you connect older audio devices to your USB Type-C devices. This Samsung USB-C two 3.5mm headphone jack adapter is insulated with a TPE jacket to ensure durability.
I bought this adapter because Samsung did away with the headphone jack on their Galaxy Note 20 Ultra smartphone. Samsung should have included this cable with the phone as an included accessory, but instead, they make it an option that you have to buy separately. It certainly isn't cheap for such a simple cable adapter that probably cost them next to nothing to manufacture, but it does work, unlike other budget branded USB type C to 3.5mm headphone jack adapters that I had tried before this one. Samsung's own adapter does work: call quality is crisp, and the audio is good/ That's all that mattered in the end for me.
Dec 08, 2021 02:19I can't say anything bad about this product other than it sucks that it only comes in white. I don't like anything in white, but it does what it's meant to do, so there's no point in complaining. It feels like it'll last me a while. I'll update this review if it doesn't.
Jan 29, 2021 19:44It's a shame that a lot of the high end phones (like my Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G) don't come with a headphone jack anymore.
Nevertheless, this turned out to be a necessity for my line of work, so this will pay for itself in the long run.
Dec 11, 2020 17:32It was a present for my mom since she got a new phone. She was very happy with the solution for her headphones until she gets wireless ones
Sep 10, 2021 15:12The Samsung Tab S7 does not have a headphone jack. You need one of these USB-C adapters if you want to listen to audio with headphones
Sep 11, 2021 11:21Everything is going well sice I buy it nothing went wrong im very happy for that and I will still going back.
Jun 09, 2021 16:34Was accidentally charged for two, these worked perfectly! Purchased a Cheaper version and was pleasantly shocked to really hear my New Samsung Note 20 ultra 5G music capabilities. Through the speakers thank you to the makers of this product it is awesome.
Jan 07, 2021 23:25I needed an AUX port on the last 2 phones I got. And I finally looked this up which has worked great. Some applications need this still so it jas fit the need.
Apr 30, 2021 18:56The Satechi USB-C On-the-Go Multiport Adapter helps make productivity portable.
* USB-C PD good up to 100W
CONS:
---------
* The 2 USB-A ports available are both "SS" superspeed; however, they are 3.0 (or 3.1 gen1) and have a transfer rate of 5Gbs.
CONCLUSION:
============

Sep 30, 2021 12:44Transfer data across your USB Type-C and Type-A devices with this SanDisk Ultra Dual USB flash drive. The 64GB storage provides ample space for your media files, while the 150MB/sec. Delivers high performance and fast data transfer. This two-in-one SanDisk Ultra Dual USB flash drive features a dual-purpose swivel design that protects the connectors and a keyring hole for easy portability.
It works just fine for what I needed it for however I wish it was a little bit larger so I can keep up with the easier and was able to hold more memory in it otherwise it'll be a good purchase as long you don't need more memory than this can hold.
Jul 09, 2021 16:33Great flashdrive for transferring documents between multiple devices. I use this on my Samsung Tablet, Moto z3 play, and my laptop. Extremely portable as well. Multi-device flash drive is perfect for old usb version and newest usb version 3 type c.
Aug 27, 2021 19:32This little guy is convenient! I recently purchased a two of these. My brother and I both upgraded our personal laptops, however with only USB-C ports available, we were looking for something that would allow us the flexibility to use these flash drives not only on our computers, but also elsewhere if needed. Needless to say, these little guys were on sale and fit the bill perfectly. With both of us being college students, and most campus computers still only having USB-A ports, I knew we would both need to either by Type-C flash drives and adapters, or Type-A drives, that would sacrifice speeds on our computers. Luckily we stumbled across these and they were immediately in the cart, and in our bags at checkout. The option to use either port makes this drive a win-win in a world that is still in the transition from Type-A to Type-C. Also these things are so small that we literally just keep them on our lanyards/keychains so we never forget them! Theyre great!
Oct 19, 2021 01:21If you own a macbook with only usb type c ports then you absolutely need to carry this around with you.
It is small, fast and has plentiful storage. Plus it acts as a usb type A port so you can plug in any of your existing devices. Just because apple dropped the ball doesnt mean you have to buy all new accessories.
Plus if you have a usb type C enabled phone like all androids then you can plug this in and back up all your photos easily. Id highly recommend this flash drive over any other that ive ever owned
Nov 12, 2021 16:28The drive does what it says; it can read or write with either the USB-A or USB-C connection. I used it to read using USB-C (my laptop) and later write using USB-A (my car's infotainment system). The drive rotates within the platsic housing to reveal on or the other (as in the picture). I did not try to use both at the same time as there is no reason to do so.
If you need a USB drive that might need to be an A or might need to be a C, buy this and use as needed for either case.
Oct 22, 2021 19:52I needed a two in one flash drive sooner than later for a boot disk and this was in stock. The delivery from Best Buy was the best part - ordered at 11pm and I had it outside my door by 11am the next morning.
The C and A make for a quick way to migrate between old devices and new, The drive is sleek and fast.
Nov 26, 2021 22:07We bought this drive to copy larger files between our Mac computers, and it does the job well. For a flash drive, it is faster than a USB-A by using the USB-C directly. And we have had no problem transferring many files already as needed. Definitely worth the money for the ease of use and time saved for our newer Macs that do not have built-in USB-A slots anymore.
Nov 16, 2021 15:07Decent write and good read speeds. I find that this design is much more easy to handle than the older slider type where the slide lock tended to be very weak and would no longer keep the USB ports out. Made inserting them quite difficult. No such issues here.
As a plus, the keyring slot is much more useful than the older style too.

Thing rocks!! Connects my second monitor to my iMac 27 home studio. Best Buy Newington,NH has the best associates.
Apr 16, 2021 16:26I got this adapter to use with my laptop and cell phone then collage to a smart board. It was great and easy to use. I didn't have a document camera at the time so this adapter allowed me to use my Note20 with stylus.
Nov 20, 2021 07:05A friend of mine was connecting his iPhone to the TV and I was shocked. Then he told me about this device that would simply connect the two. I had to get an HDMI cord and this adapter. It worked like a dream. And it was super easy for someone like myself that doesn’t have a tech background. Highly recommend.
Oct 20, 2021 06:06As a teacher, I really wanted to be able to use my iPad to display things and be able to use my Apple Pencil to write and circle things. This connects perfectly and I've never had any issues with it.
Nov 05, 2021 16:30I bought this adapter for my laptop and it works fine with my big screen. Now I enjoy watching movies and internet searches in a big screen
Nov 20, 2021 09:47My laptop lacks the ports I need to connect to my older digital projector. By using this interface I am able to easily show my power points on the projector without a hitch.
Oct 29, 2021 19:10I bought this item but have never used it. But if I did use it I'm sure it would work. Or maybe it wouldn't and I just wasted money.
Nov 12, 2021 06:51Needed to connect a smartphone to a smart tv. Works flawlessly. Will need a separate cable as well.
Nov 19, 2021 16:18You work hard and get things done. But what do you do when a wireless network just isn’t fast or reliable enough to cut it? This Platinum PT-AFAEA USB-C to Ethernet Adapter is specially designed to work with your Mac, iPad and other USB-C devices. It supports 10/100/1000 Mbps for high-speed data transfer and lightning fast connectivity. A compact design makes it easy to take with you on the go while a durable braided cable keeps it in good working order. All that coupled with a classic white color gives this adapter an elegant look and feel that won’t fail you—even when your wireless connection does.
I purchased a new 2020 Zephryus G14.
Using this on the right USB-C port since the laptop is too thin for ethernet.
The adapter is rated for gigabit speeds, and it definitely gets up there. My Xfinity Comcast connection is pulling about 600/700 download right now on all my other machines in the house too.
Heck, even the bit of braided cable adds a nice premium touch. Very happy overall with this purchase.
Jun 18, 2021 17:38I bought this to have a wired connection between my phones hotspot and PS4 because i was getting a lot of lag over a wifi connection. turns out the lag is due to the phone its self as I have switched phone and wifi works without lag now so ended up returning this but this product worked fine
Oct 13, 2021 20:34Works great and is a mere 1/3 the cost of the Apple branded adapter. I guess because Apple has its logo on its merchandise it needs to cost twice or three times as much. But, this Platinum adapter works great!
Oct 23, 2021 09:50USB-C to ethernet cable. This was a great purchase. I’m so glad Best Buy had this in stock. It was well worth the money. I used it for work.
Nov 05, 2021 18:37Works as expected. Solid build quality, and no additional setup needed.
Nov 04, 2021 11:56Good quality, it is still doing a great job, after a month. I had to have it for internet access, the wi-fi was crap at school.
Oct 04, 2021 20:39Works as well as promised . The price was fair . And the oral instructions were very helpful. It was what I needed for my iMac laptop .
Nov 05, 2021 23:01Great product recommend. Great product recommend. Great product recommend.Great product recommend. Great product recommend.

It works like it’s supposed to. I use this to connect a Logitech wireless mouse to our MacBook. Works fine. It’s a 2020 MacBook. Of course Apple could just build one in to the MacBook!
Apr 16, 2021 16:50The new Apple MacBooks decided that we don’t need all the ports that we need on computers, this cheap option saved me for connecting my mouse and usb and etc.... I’ve had this for two years and countering. Get this
Nov 29, 2019 21:13This adapter works great with my CD driver. I purchased a Macbook a few months ago and had photos on a disc that I needed to download. The adapter worked wonderfully with my driver. I downloaded my pics with no problem! Thanks, Apple!
Nov 06, 2020 17:37It does the job. It’s unfortunate to have to buy an extension for the Mac book but it works out.
Sep 18, 2019 17:13Exactly what I needed to hook up to my iPad Pro then card reader so I can upload pictures.
Aug 07, 2021 23:16I am pleased to buy things on Best Buy. It’s very helpful and good in quality
Jun 23, 2018 15:16Overall the adapter looks nice and it is an apple product so it is sturdy and durable, could do without the cable though
Nov 16, 2017 15:25Perfect size and not easy to lose hope it holds up

Plug in VGA Monitor to MacBook Pro and enjoy double screens, also enjoy using a USB controller for RC Flight Simulator to practice flying helicopters.
Aug 21, 2021 16:44My frustration here is with Apple's use of proprietary plugs so that you have to have an adapter to use industry standard gadgets. A 10 key for doing taxes is a virtual requirement and this allowed use of an already-owned-gadget.
Oct 25, 2021 07:59I've had a monitor for several years that still works and looks great. Wanted to use it with a new iMac. This works great; however, when I got it home I realized it was used. The inserts were all wrinkled up and the adapter had fingerprints all over it. Not happy at all with the store I bought it from - they should have sold the item at an "open-box" price, not at full retail. What a shady way to do business! This kind of thing makes want to avoid these stores - it's like everybody wants to get over on somebody one way or another. Ewww!
Aug 08, 2021 11:07Very good service, I’m so pleased with the geek squad team my purchase exceeded my expectations. I will recommend this to my friends and family. Thanks again!!
Nov 06, 2021 19:14Works well. I connected several devices to it.. light, external hard drive, and mouse. Great addition. I should’ve purchased it a month earlier when I saw it for $25 less. Overall, good buy!
Sep 26, 2021 08:57Excellent product. Tried several adaptors that did not work on an event setup, ran to Best Buy, bought as open box, and worked flawlessly.
Oct 22, 2021 16:42Works perfect, I was able to add a second monitor to my macbook
Nov 24, 2021 16:00works great. always get good products from Best buy. always can trust best buy to have the product I need in stock.

Best Buy is our place to go for most everything.
Oct 30, 2021 11:36I was looking for another charge cord for my S8 and came upon this one. Great price, works very well. It has been very reliable. It is made well and worth the money! Thank you Best Buy for always having what I am looking for!
Oct 29, 2021 15:29Not much to say other than it works exactly as expected. I need to have a reliable connection from my Mac Mini (with USB-A connectors) to my iPad Pro. In my experience, USB A-C adapters are not reliable and often fail to allow a sync-capable connection. This cable resolved that recurring hassle.
Sep 17, 2021 16:37Perfect cable to charge my Samsung S21 Ultra in the car. Isn't very long which is ideal for me since I'm usually driving. Definitely recommend.
Nov 13, 2021 10:58So my android auto connection started malfunctioning, and Honda recommended I try a new cable. This one restored all android auto functions to working again. Phone is a SamSung Galaxy A50 + I also have the next model up A51 (for work). Both work well again now with AA.
Oct 16, 2021 15:51Good cable. I had bought it because the ones I had were too short and they are long enough just to use it in the car. This one I'm able to connect it under my bed and be able to move it around without worrying that the adapter would disconnect.
Sep 17, 2021 18:34I bought this for a new phone so that I could charge it at more than one location. It works well, sliding into the port easily. I've only had it for a short time, so I can't vouch for its longevity, but so far, so good,
Nov 06, 2021 10:50I bought a new computer and used the service at Best Buy to transfer my data. When the transfer didn't go as easily as I had hoped, but team at Best Buy spent all the time needed to fix my problem.
Nov 13, 2021 10:43Organize needed peripherals with this Microsoft USB-C travel hub. The HDMI ports support 4K monitors for enhanced performance, while the USB ports let you connect and charge your wireless mouse, keyboard and other accessories. This black Microsoft USB-C travel hub works seamlessly with PC systems and all Surface laptops for increased compatibility.
Got this one as my daughter needed to use her surface in different areas, and when she was not connected to the hub, it as not easy to connect other screens.
Perfect for anyone who is using the surface in different locations and wants to connect different screens.
Jul 24, 2020 17:11Great Product, love the plug and play design
BUT
one thing that they should list first is that you can run two monitors out of the vga port and hdmi port at the same time, gotta be one or the other (so the vga port is essentially useless or vice versa I think?)
Anyway just think they should put that on the cover and not in fine print on the inner packaging.
satisfied and will be keeping this product to use with my 2019 surface laptop
Also big shoutout to best by rewards program which actually incentivizes you to leave an honest review,
I just want the points and have no reason to lie here
May 12, 2021 11:27This is a good docking station. Works as expected. I only cut the star looking at its value for the cost.
There are many USB-C docking stations available. Some are cheaper and offer more connections like 3.5 mm audio, SD card, dual monitor. Do your research.
Nov 02, 2021 16:43Provides a great wired network connection, and when checking the network adapter properties it shows 1 gb/s connection. Also great for plugging in a mouse or USB flash drive. This product looks to be built pretty well, and there is a storage slot for the hub USB-C cable itself. This helps prevent damage to the cable when the hub is not in use.
Aug 22, 2021 20:21It’s like a mini docking station. If you are thinking about it, buy it. It’s everything you need in a small travel format to be prepared for anything.
Nov 05, 2021 18:23This is a must have. Able to connect to local area network, external monitors, what more to ask.
Oct 20, 2021 03:07I actually used this for my HP Omen desktop once but it works well with my Omen laptop. Fast and furious
Oct 11, 2021 15:29This product is absolutely everything needed with so much ease to use. Also with magnetic hole to place cable into for ease when no using it.
Sep 10, 2021 16:54Connect up to seven devices to your computer through a single USB Type-C port with this Insignia™ hub, featuring two USB 3.0 ports that support data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps, one USB Type-C port with Power Delivery, Ethernet port, HDMI port and two memory card readers.
Got this for a new MacBook Pro 15, and I use every single port. My old MBP had a built-in SD-card reader, but I still needed an Ethernet to Thunderbolt adapter. This one does it all (except that I could always use more USB 3.0 ports). NOTE: sometimes USB-C is not recognized until I unplug and re-plug the adapter. That clears it up, but was never an issue with my previous USB ports-and-hubs. It does run fairly hot, but I draw a lot of power and have run it with a Focrusrite Scarlett 2i2 which sends phantom power to microphones. Never had a problem keeping the MBP fully charged, and both data and internet speeds are very good. The build quality looks as good or better than any of my native Apple accessories.
Nov 10, 2018 10:11I purchased a new laptop with limited USB ports, so the Best Buy employee encouraged me to purchase this hub. It allows me to easily transfer pictures from my camera's SD card and also has an ethernet port and 2 more USB ports. The only negatives so far are its short cord and that it was fairly hard to get it into the port on my laptop, but it's done the job so far. I also wish all of the ports were on the side facing me when it is plugged in; the SD card reader is on the back.
Jul 31, 2020 16:08My company got me a new MacBook Pro, but they weren't aware it only had 2 c style ports. It's great, I have it connected to the internet via ethernet and a wireless USB mouse.
Mar 15, 2019 16:15There are 7 ports which is more than enough and no connection issues. Great prize for good product.
May 16, 2019 14:53I use this with my iPad pro, having the capacity for both my flash drive, external hard drive, and memory cards is really a game changer - It makes my photo processing workflow so much easier.
Dec 01, 2021 14:46I bought this for my surface pro 7 so that I could connect it to an external monitor. It does that and all ports seem to work except the ethernet port. However that could be an issue on windows side. It should very much be plug and play given what it's supposed to do so I take off a star for having to figure out why just plugging in ethernet is enough and requires troubleshooting on my end.
Oct 05, 2021 12:24Amazing device. Easy plug and play, compatible with M1 Apple Processor chips. Made it switching between machines easy. When working on my Mac I can just plug it in, and when I'm done and want to use my Windows PC for gaming, can just plug to that one. No hustle, no drivers needed. Again, amazing device.
Oct 17, 2021 16:49I bought this to use for work to have a second monitor output and extra USB ports. This fits easily on a desk and it’s easy to hide cables with.
Nov 29, 2021 22:28Connect additional ports to your device with this Satechi USB-C multi-port adapter. The two USB-A 3.0 ports transfer data from storage drives, while the USB-C port supports fast charging. This Satechi USB-C multi-port adapter features a compact design to seamlessly fit in your backpack, and the HDMI port connects external displays to show 4K videos.
This won't be the most complicated review because this isn't a terribly complicated product. I have a 5K Thunderbolt monitor that I use with a Mac and a PC and it's great to be able to swap between the two laptops with a single Thunderbolt 4 cable. The monitor and both laptops are void any ethernet connection, and the there are only 3 USB-C connections on the back of the monitor. The Satechi works great as a way to add ethernet to the monitor that's passed to the laptops and allows me to add a SD card and a few extra USB-A ports. The charging capability of the USB-A ports aren't enough to say power an iPad Pro, but it's more than capable off powering mics and web cams and other accessories you may need. I couldn't be happier with how this turned out!
Oct 24, 2021 21:17While MacBook users have complained about the USB-C only designs, it's migrated to Windows Laptops and Notebooks as well. Gone on the many new compact designs are the standard USB ports which allow connecting USB mice, keyboards, ethernet adapters, etc.
The Satechi USB Type-C Slim Multiport Adapter attempts to solve that issue by offering a USB adapter that provides gigabit ethernet support, two USB 3.2 interfaces along with a USB-C passthrough for charging, SD card slots and even a 4k HDMI port.
This well-made hub sports an elegant looking aluminum design that includes everything you might need in a compact form factor, allowing you to carry only one dongle to support all your accessories.
For me this is a must-have accessory for anyone with a compact laptop/notebook. My only complaint is that the cable could be longer.
Sep 30, 2021 14:08The Satechi USB-C 7-in-1 multiport dock packs lots of capability in a very small package. It has two USB Type A (2.0 or 3.0) ports, HDMI, USB-C, SD, SD micro, and Ethernet ports. The USB-C ports lets you charge your computer via the dock.
I tested this Satechi multiport dock on a late-model MacBook Pro, and it worked well. This adapter is small and sleek, and easy to take with you if you use your computer away from your home or office. It has a matte space gray finish.
Oct 15, 2021 16:08My main goal was to use for a 3 display setup, utilizing the laptop display and two HP 23” 1080p displays. My laptop supplies one HDMI output and the Satechi 7-in-1 supplies the other. For my daily use the Satechi definitely has me covered for whatever I need. The plus is it helps me condense my accessories since it has an ethernet port as well; I won’t need to carry that separate accessory.
Just using the HDMI port on the adapter the aluminum housing has a warmness to it. Not hot, but noticeably not cold either.
Some things you need to consider:
-USB-C port is Power Delivery only (meaning it is only for charging), it cannot be used as a Display Port or Data Transfer. So if you are needing the USB-C port to be more functional, you may need to look for another adapter to meet your needs. Product page states it can handle 60W charging...this would be INPUT. It does not state that, but Thunderbolt 3 spec INPUT is 100W, but OUTPUT is 15W to USB peripherals. So, if your laptop only has 1 USB-C port and it is used for charging, then the Satechi 7-in-1 will allow you to use the USB-C port for charging.
-Make sure you have good HDMI cables. Some older ones I had laying around would not work with the USB hub, even though they worked with my HDMI port on the laptop. I have Monoprice 4K cables and they worked just fine.
-USB-A ports do not support charging or CD readers, including Apple SuperDrive. We recommend connecting one bus-powered device at a time.
That last point is copied directly from the manufacturer product page. So it can be taken as you cannot use a CD reader or charge via USB-A. Also, don’t use more than one bus at a time.
I am not too sure about all of that because if you can tell in my pic I have four ports being used and I am not having any issues and the device did not gain much warmth over what I noticed when just using the HDMI port for 3-display setup. Four ports being used:
1. Ethernet
2. USB Flash Drive
3. USB-DVD Writer
4. HDMI
Now, I am not outputting anything 4K, and was only moving small folders of ~250MB at a time, while playing the DVD, streaming audio, and typing this in Google Docs. So not sure if Satechi is trying to cover their butts here or what? If indeed they only recommend using one powered bus at a time...HDMI, Ethernet, Micro/SD, USB-A, USB-C...then why buy this 7-in-1. I have used countless hubs in the past that didn’t have these limitations.
You’ll have to decide for yourself on how you use your device and maybe their recommendation is based on what type of USB-C port will be supplying the hub. I listed my below, so if yours is less, then maybe it will put more strain on the hub and then run into overheating or reliability issues. The recommendation still makes me scratch my head if this thing can take up to 60W input though...which input and output are not equal, but it still has to be designed to take the heat of 60W input. Again, decide for yourself.
I can confirm it won't do data transfer via USB-C, may laptop showed charging via USB-C 65W adapter (tested after taking the pic), but I also could not get it to charge my phone. So it would appear that the USB-C Port on the hub is for INPUT charging only.
My setup:
-Asus ROG Zephyrus G14: USB-C 3.2 with Power Delivery, DisplayPort, and G-Sync
-MonoPrice Slimline HDMI 4K cable
-Dual HP 23” 1080p Monitors
-LG Slim DVD-Writer
-Sandisk Cruzer 8GB USB 2.0
I don’t have any complaints on this device. The aluminum chassis is nice and the Space Gray looks good. It being very slim and streamlined it definitely fits into a bag easily. For cable management I kind of wish the HDMI port was on the other side, just to clean-up the wires and give a little more spacing on the side, but its meant for productivity and it does do that.
Oct 05, 2021 14:45I recently got a new laptop that features USB-C as the only connector on it. This brought up an interesting point and issue to the forefront - I have too many USB-A devices, and barring one monitor, almost all use HDMI or Display Port. How does one connect your new laptop on the go and still keep your sanity?
Well, this Satechi USB Type-C Multiport adaptor fits that bill. It has 2 USB-A ports, an HDMI port, a MicroSD and SDXC card reader, an Ethernet port, and the ability to use it to charge another USB-C device up to 60W max.
So problem solved? Well not quite. It seems the USB-C port adaptor can only run one hard drive at a time via the USB-A due to power usage, and while it can do 4K on the HDMI, the port bandwidth while using an external hard drive, you do sometimes see artefacts. Beyond that, the USB-C port on the adaptor is kind of useless to me as it’s a charge only port. I appreciate the Gigabit ethernet port on the end, which works rather well. While it’s rare these days to need a gigabit ethernet (especially when wifi is so ubiquitous), the fact that you can plug it into a hard line is handy.
So should you get one? YES! While I would have liked the cable to be folded back into the device for easy storage, it is not much of a bother. It is small and compact and you really need one cause those darn pesky USB-A devices are everywhere, and until we get more USB-C devices, we will need a USB-C to USB-A adapter.
Oct 04, 2021 03:53The USB-C Slim 7-in-1 Multiport Adapter by Satechi is a super handy device. Today’s laptops are so thin that the manufacturers have removed most of the inputs leaving us with no ethernet capability and few USBs. My last two laptops only have a couple of UBS-Type C inputs which require adapters to plug most of my devices in. This is where the 7-in-1 Multiport Adapter saves the day.
Here is what you get: 2 USB-A 3.0, 1 USB-C (for charging), 1 4K HDMI output, 1 Gigabyte Ethernet Port, 1 Secure Digital card slot, and 1 Micro SD card slot. All of this is housed in a metal enclosure that measures roughly 5 ¼” by 1 ¼”. The cord measured to the end of the exterior portion of the plug is about 6” long.
Why do I need this? This device simplifies several of the adapters you’d have to carry into one device. If you travel much, this is a must have. Using the multiport adapter allows you to plug in your USB-A laptop hard drives, USB drives, and other memory cards using the same device. If you want to export your screen to an external monitor there is a 4K capable HDMI port to use. If you like the consistency of using an ethernet cord instead of connecting to open Wi-Fi, use the gigabyte ethernet port. It is a really useful product.
It’s important to understand that this uses the power from your computer to run, so there are limits to powering other devices from it. Also, if I could change two things about the adapter, it would be the length on the cord and the way the ethernet port expands to accommodate the plug. The cord is pretty short, so it leaves the items you are plugging in close to the machine. As for the ethernet port, the end pops up to accommodate the size of the plug. While I had no issues using it, I do wonder if that would ever break. I’m sure that they made it this way to make the adapter smaller.
Overall, this device is so useful that I am giving it 5 stars. If you travel much at all, this is a really handy product to take with you.
Oct 07, 2021 10:18Really great product. It has lots of functionality. It made of from a durable material feel to it.
Dec 26, 2020 16:48This Satechi USB hub is well constructed and stylish.
The hub is metal and solidly built. There is no "creaking" to it at all, and it feels very premium.
The hub has 2 USB type-A ports, a USB type-C power port, a full-size HDMI port, a micro-SD card slot, a full-size SD card slot, and an ethernet port. The ethernet port is one of those with the hinge that pops out. I found it to be very VERY stiff. I worried that I was breaking it trying to get it open.
My one complaint about the construction of the hub is that the cable is too short. I prefer to have my hubs sitting flat on my desk or flush to the device (as opposed to dangling in mid-air). This one can't quite manage that.
I also wish that it had another USB type-C port for data. I'm in that awkward state where about half of my devices and flash drives are USB type-A and half are USB type-C.
I'm quite happy with this hub, and I would recommend it to anyone needing more ports.
Oct 03, 2021 10:36Turn your USB-C laptop into the ultimate workstation with our USB-C 11-in-1 Multiport Dock. This all-in-one solution gives you access to ports that newer laptops have eliminated in the recent years, allowing you to connect to monitors, SD cards, thumb drives, and more through its USB-C port. It supports pass-through charging up to 100W so you don’t have to choose between port expansion and power. This docking station gives you up to 5 Gbps of bandwidth between connected devices and your laptop while supporting high-definition display resolutions up to 4K through HDMI, DisplayPort, and VGA video ports. Plus, with its Gigabit Ethernet port, you’ll always have a safe and secure internet connection.
This is just amazing. Slick design, has very single port you'd need, does not need a power supply, and supports multiple monitors (I tested it with two simultaneously and one that has 144Hz refresh rate and 2550x1440 resolution. My laptop only has usb-c ports, this is a must-have.
Oct 29, 2021 15:43Great product, but I returned it because I did not need it. I thought I would be able to connect two screens to my mac with their new chip but this was not the case. I got a cheaper version on amazon and returned this one.
Sep 11, 2021 11:09I absolutely love this product. It does everything I need it to. My ONLY negative about it is that the cable is too short. I understand it’s made for a MacBook and not an iMac but there’s nothing specifically for the iMac. Nonetheless this is still a very high quality product.
Oct 19, 2021 07:43This worked absolutely perfectly! No words for how much I appreciate this device. It’s plug and play. All ports work perfectly. And the cord is extendable incase you need to move your laptop! Perfect buy!
Oct 13, 2021 16:33Works perfectly with macbooks which have ports on the left side. My HP has a port on the right so had to flip to make it work
Nov 05, 2021 15:29Works great, allows me to use multiple ports on the dock at the same time. I've seen no decrease in speed/function when using this.
Oct 18, 2021 11:15It works great. The price was reasonable. I like how it tilts your laptop
Oct 01, 2021 15:57works great. just what I wanted would recommend to others. Will use this item all the time
Oct 30, 2021 09:52The USB-C to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter lets you connect devices that use a standard 3.5mm audio plug - like headphones or speakers - to your USB-C devices.Apple Brand Store at Best Buy.Shop more Apple products
Pretty good value for an Apple branded cable. Apple’s cables are well above every other brand for the same cable, in most cases. As for this cable, It does exactly what it should. Allows me to connect my wired headphones to my iPad Pro 11. I should give it zero stars to point out the absurdity of Apple switching from lightning connectors to USB-C. However, as annoying as this is for a decade + Apple user (Phones & Tabs), I will be objective and give this cable alone 5 stars.
Nov 03, 2020 07:20I'm using this adapter with my 3.5mm Apple - EarPods on an Asus laptop and iPad Air 4. The quality of the sound is very good.
Jan 19, 2021 19:13Excellent product by Apple as always. Used this adapter to connect my external mic at the back of my iMac.
Nov 13, 2020 15:42While it seems like you would need this adapter in order to use a wired headphone, it is better in my opinion to not buy this but instead buy a hub for slightly more that also plugs into the USB C port and also adds an HDMI jack, USB 3.0, USB C headphone jack and a USB C port to charge with.
Dec 21, 2020 21:30I bought this USB-C to 3.5mm Adapter a week ago and I was satisfied with the performance of the adapter. Worked wonderfully with an iPad Pro I borrowed for a little bit and found it able to output high volumes on regular earbuds, with the volume slider somewhere in the middle. Pretty much on par with the Lightning equivalent adapter that apple sells. Build quality is the same as the Lightning counterpart so no complaints there.
However, the story somewhat changes when you use this on Android devices. It's still a really good adapter, however don't expect to get the volume too high, even with the slider maxxed out. Even with regular earbuds, I found that I had to crank the slider up to get relatively the same volume as the iPad, so much so that I had to go past the device's volume slider warning about loud sounds. Using this in my car's aux cord, I found that I maxxed out both the radio and slider and it wasn't loud enough, as in that you can still hear the road noise over your own music.
Doing a bit of research, it does seem to be a universal issue with this adapter and Android devices, as the software in Android is not able to communicate with the adapter to output higher voltage to further increase the volume.
In short, I recommend these if you are in the Apple Ecosystem as these will function wonderfully and pretty much will beat out Google's and Samsung's adapters, as some tests can be found on sounds quality comparison's through Google. If you plan on using these for Android's, I wouldn't 100% recommend these as the volume doesn't get loud enough. That being said, these are still usable as an adapter, but they aren't for me and I will most likely be exchanging these for Samsung's adapter as they are the next best thing from the sound quality comparison's I mentioned earlier.
Jan 24, 2020 18:33Really good adapter, at a great price. Probably the best audio quality you can get with one of these unless you're willing to spend quite a bit more. This works well with Apple products and Windows PCs, but is hit or miss with Android. It outputs to quietly on some phones. If you have a Samsung, buy the Samsung adapter. Worked well with my brother's OnePlus devices though.
Oct 28, 2021 00:21I only wish I could write a book about this 3.5mm Headphone Jack for all the readers here. How do I start to sing the praises of this 3.5 piece of wire with two clips on it. First, the box opened flawlessly without any danger of opening it the wrong way. Did not need to read the directions on how to open the package. Then the shear whiteness of the 3.5 mm unit itself. How did they pick that color? Genius comes to mind. Why not black, green, yellow, pink, salmon, lime green? No white- the perfect color choice for this piece of wire. Again, some genius picked it out. Wow. Marketing and design genius. Then we move onto the unit itself. Kinda like a thermos bottle. How does it know? The fact that you can now listen to your headphones via a wire? Are you kidding me? Wow. And slick the way the male ends slip so nicely into their female counterparts. No need for instructions here. Brilliant. If you are still reading- have you not left the house for BB yet to make your $9 purchase of this 3.5mm hunk of wire? Run do not walk the the nearest BB to get this unit.
Jul 23, 2021 15:44I bought this and a google adapter for my phone and the google option broke within a few months and this one is still going strong. I am the furthest thing from an apple fanboy as i own an android phone but when it comes to these adapters i have had the better luck with the apple one.
Dec 06, 2021 12:18The Redragon K630 Dragonborn compact tenkeyless (TKL) mechanical gaming keyboard is great for both typing and gaming. With brown mechanical switches, you'll experience more accurate typing and noticeable feedback without the "clicky" sound of other mechanical switches. Adjustable pink backlighting with multiple modes allows to you customize the backlighting to match your mood. The K630 is spill resistant, meaning you no longer need to worry about the occasional spill while working or gaming at your desk. The detachable USB Type-C connector provides a higher data transfer rate than a traditional USB connector, and provides out-of-the-box compatibility with a greater number of devices.
I grabbed the only one that was at my local BestBuy honestly because I wanted to try a 60% layout. I knew what I was getting when I was looking at the box, but there was more than what I was expecting.
Originally I was expecting just the 60% layout, the pink backlighting, and the function layers. But when I read the manual, there were more features packed into this!
To start, there is Macro Recording on the function layer over the Backspace key, this feature works without the need of any external software. However, it is only limited to the 61 keys on the keyboard.
Second, on the back of the box, it states that the keyboard is hot-swappable. To confirm that, Redragon also included a switch puller, and four switch samples you can hotswap with.
Although it's a bit difficult to pull the switches out with the included puller, the hotswap functionality does work.
(Note: The pullers can scratch the keycap sides if you are not careful with them!)
As stated on the item, it has Redragon's own Brown Switches. These are tactile switches with a bump that occur during the key travel to provide tactility. I'm quite fond with these switches, even if the tactility is weak.
The keyboard's hot-swappable PCB allows you to swap out the switches with other Redragon switches.
(Note: This feature may not work with switches other than Redragon's.)
Now, because this keyboard has a 60% layout, you will lose access to useful keys that are mainly on larger boards (e.g the Arrow Cluster.)
Although they are still accessable with the use of the function key, some key combinations (such as Alt+Fn+F4) will not work because Ctrl and Alt do not register in the function layer.
Getting used to the smaller layout was no big trouble because I had my main keyboard set aside.
Lastly, the backlighting is pretty simple with pink being the only color, but it is also loaded with 19 different light patterns (according to the manual) to make the backlighting look more lively.
Overall, this is a nice, small, and compact keyboard that, despite it's small size, can fulfil it's duty as a gaming keyboard, and is within reach for smaller budgets.
Oct 21, 2021 04:41Been using for the past week and works good. i love the pink color.
Oct 22, 2021 15:28Really good gaming keyboard for the price I fall in love
Nov 24, 2021 21:02Absolutely love it. It has a good sound whilst being good at the same time. I have two problems though. I dont like how the only RGB is pink, and How the rubber stands don’t usually stop my keyboard from gliding. Although Its great
Jul 02, 2021 15:41The keyboard as a whole doesn't feel too hollow, has a nice weight to it, and the use of it is very intuitive even without the manual, and at 39.99 there's not much that can beat this.
The outemu brown switches, although not the best, are comfortable enough and have good stability with the keycaps used by Redragon. The backlight is bright even during daylight, and although fuchsia in color, it is not bothersome during use.
The only real downsides I'd say this keyboard has have to do with the CIY sockets used for outemu switches severely limiting the possibilities for modding, as well as the stabilizer rattle on the spacebar. Though, then again, at this price point, quality stabilizers cost about the same as the whole keyboard itself.
Sep 10, 2021 18:14I was able to get this on sale and I think it's a pretty good keyboard for how cheap it is. Typing on it feels nice. It works well for gaming. It's very compact and great for use on limited desk space or if you need to travel with it. A detachable USB-C cable is nice if you need to replace it in case if it dies or you want a different length cable. The keycaps feel pretty decent for a budget keyboard.
There are a few flaws that would keep me from recommending this as someone's primary keyboard however.
One is that while holding down the Fn buttons the Ctrl and Alt keys can't be used. That means that key combinations that include Ctrl or Alt and a key that is on the Fn or Fn2 layer can't be done. An example is Ctrl-Alt-Del or Alt-F4, as the Del and top function keys require holding down the Fn or Fn2 key. You also cant do something like Ctrl and Right Arrow key, which is useful in text editing. It seems like this is a major oversight by Redragon.
The keyboard's backlight looks good, but I've noticed sometimes after long usage some of the backlight keys start to flicker a bit. Unplugging the keyboard and plugging it back in or restarting the computer to cycle the power to the keyboard fixes this. The keys otherwise still work fine even if this is happening. It's just annoying and a reminder of it being a cheap keyboard.
There is no software to remap the buttons. The shortcomings with not being able to use Ctrl and Alt with Fn or Fn2 could be worked around if you could remap buttons.
The arrow keys on the Fn layer are also mapped to WSAD. Having them mapped to keys on the right might have been nice so you can access them with one hand, but WSAD isn't that bad for me as I am used to using WSAD for navigation in games.
Overall for the price it's not bad. It exceeded my expectations for a super cheap mechanical keyboard. However the flaws with modifier keys would keep me from recommending it to people as their only keyboard. I use this with my laptop, so if I need to do some of those key combos I can just reach over to my laptop keyboard. If this keyboard was any more expensive it'd be a deal-breaker for me, but for being cheap and otherwise decent I can live with it for what I use it for.
If you are okay with these flaws and are just looking for a cheap 60% mechanical keyboard to try, or use on the go and not worry about beating up a more expensive keyboard, it's not bad for the price. If you are looking for a primary keyboard to use I'd recommend looking at something else.
Aug 13, 2021 10:22Honestly its Cool I would recommend for key preference, but not for any type of work, My wife loves if for a ton of computer gams ranging from 8-bit to FPS. One thing I didn't notice till it arrived was 19 different light setups. Ranging from constant motion of light to a ripple effect when pressing a key. i Highly recommend.
Nov 01, 2021 14:18Great keyboard for gaming, and it works good with consoles just it case you where wondering
Jun 25, 2021 16:39Keep your laptop charged and connected to reliable internet with this Belkin USB-C to Ethernet adapter. Compatibility with network speeds of up to 1,000 Mbps enable fast downloads on Mac or Windows computers. Boasting USB power delivery technology, this Belkin USB-C to Ethernet adapter delivers fast charging of up to 60W.
Many newer, slimmer devices are coming with only USB-C ports as input and charge ports while not including larger ports like a standard Ethernet port. However, with an adapter like this USB-C to Ethernet + charge adapter you can use a standard gigabit Ethernet cable as well as charge your device at the same time. This works nicely if you are in an environment that doesn’t have any wireless capability or you must be in airplane mode but need network connectivity. This adapter provides up to gigabit speeds provided the network devices you attach to also provide up to that speed. The USB-C port on the adapter however, only works for passing through power and does not provide the full power to the device as some is lost through the adapter. Though not drastically different in times, it is noticeable when using the charger directly that you get a shorter charge time than through the adapter.
Jul 07, 2020 21:15Works great when I want to use wired internet on my iPad Pro.
Aug 07, 2021 23:22The Belkin - USB-C Network Adapter allows you to connect an ethernet cable to your laptop/tablet and take advantage of gigabit throughput instead of relying on wireless connectivity. I love the design, it's compact and durable. Easy to store in a bag or carry case. Best of all, you can connect the charging cable for you device directly into the Belkin adapter so if your device only has one USB-C port for power, you don't have to sacrifice speed for durability.
I find this device extremely useful, and plan to get more for my family members.
I highly recommend the Belkin - USB-C Network Adapter.
Jul 12, 2020 15:22Like many laptops these days, my work-issued laptop is a small one with no Ethernet port and USB-C charging only. This is exactly what I needed to be able to use an Ethernet cable and charge the laptop at the same time. It works perfectly with no issues to report.
PROS:
- Small and lightweight; perfect for traveling.
- Flexible cable allows for movement of laptop while in use.
- Supports full gigabit Ethernet speeds.
- Charges my small laptop at its full charging speed of 60W.
CONS:
- None to report!
There may be some laptops out there that require more than 60W of power that this adapter supports, so be sure to check your laptop's current power supply and charging requirement before you purchase.
Jul 21, 2020 22:46Pros: No setup needed "plug and play" Well-made and compact, convenient to host USB-C and ethernet port together, ethernet adaptor gives reliable speed test, my internet service is the AT&T up to 1,000 Mbps plan and this adaptor gives near that speed.
Cons: None
Jul 11, 2020 19:43I have used this with both my Galaxy Book S and HP X360 Chromebook and it works flawlessly. If you need Ethernet through your USB-C port, you are covered with this dongle. There is nothing to configure- just plug it in the the USB-C port, and an Ethernet connection shows up on your taskbar. With Gigabit speed, you'll only be limited by the speed of your internet provider- not this dongle.
The extra added attraction is that you can also attach your device's USB-C charger to the Adapter and it passes the power through so you can charge the device while using the Ethernet connection. That feature is a great convenience.
I like Belkin products becuase they generally deliver exactly as promised, and this adapter is no exception.
Jul 07, 2020 11:19Purchased the Belkin USB-C network adapter specifically for use with my Chromecast device so I had the ability to use a wired network connection for improved speed & reliability. Belkin has always been a reliable brand and they were again; it may seem like there are a lot of options out there that do similar things, but if you are looking to use with Chromecast, be sure you get one with a USB-C Connection as well as the USB-C PW. NOTE: you will also need to get a higher amp plug, the one that comes with the Chromecast will not be large enough to run PW through this or any ethernet adaptor. I used an 18W plug from a chromebook I picked up online for cheap.
Oct 17, 2021 08:03A lot of devices now, especially the slim ones no longer have an Ethernet port. As much as WiFi technology has improved over the years it still can’t provide an interference-free stable connection as being connected directly to your router. When I was in the market for an Ethernet adapter I needed something that would not just be compatible with my Chromebook device but also with my iPad Pro and Galaxy Tab S6 device too. Another must-have feature was power delivery. Some devices only have 1 USB C port so if you start to run out of power that means you would have to disconnect whatever device you have plugged in at that time. Belkin has had previous Ethernet Network adapters but not one that can charge your device too.
Now that I have been working from home lately for the last couple of weeks I’ve learned to appreciate a solid stable internet connection. For the last couple of weeks, I’ve been using WiFi to connect to my work computer. It is ok for 60% of the time but the other 40% when that lags kicks in it can get frustrating. For my type of work, I need a solid connection. I spend half of my time sharing screens with coworkers or conference calls via Microsoft Teams. I also work with a lot of excel files. It's not the same as running excel from your actual computer. There have been plenty of times that I have scrolled past the cell or it would just keep scrolling until my screen finally catches up with my work computer due to lag. Even just as basic typing I have experienced a 3-4 sec delay for the character to appear on the screen after I’ve pressed the key on the keyboard. Imagine this happening with a video call where there’s a 3-4 second delay when someone speaks. So, yeah this would definitely make your day frustrating. I can happily report that 99% of the time my work experience has been lag-free. After switching over to a wired connection it’s been a night and day difference. Working on my work computer from home feels close to actually working on it. I no longer have to scroll slow on Excel just so I don’t pass the cell I’m trying to land on. Conference calls and sharing screens sessions have vastly improved. I no longer have audio cut-outs or delays. If I do have some sort of network issue and quick router reboot will usually fix it. If any issues arise now are going to be either server or network problems. The Ethernet adapter supports 10/100/1000 connection. If you have Gigabit Fiber internet Belkin has you covered.
So in the beginning I did mention that I needed it to be compatible with my other devices like my iPad Pro and Galaxy Tab S6. For the iPad Pro, I mainly use it for productivity work. I have a shared network storage device that I used to copy to and from for my multiple devices. These files can range from small as a document or too big as 4K video. Transferring files over WiFi is very convenient but very slow when it comes to large files. When I need to transfer a large file from my network storage to either of my devices including the iPad Pro or Tab S6 using the Ethernet Network adapter have vastly cut down the time needed to complete a file transfer. For example, copying a 5gb movie file to VLC on my iPad would sometimes take around 20mins+ over WiFi. The same movie file over Ethernet cuts it down to less than 10mins. Keep in mind that your router plays a huge role in your wired speeds. Most of the routers that have come out in the last couple of years all come with Gigabit Ethernet ports. Even the times it takes to connect the Ethernet Network adapter still comes out faster than just waiting for it to be finished over WiFi. Another reason besides the speed is stability. There have been times that large files have failed to transfer requiring me to start the process all over again. It’s disappointing when you have spent 15mins waiting for a file to transfer just to have it quit on you when it’s’ almost done.
Last but not least is remote play from my Xbox One X or PS4 Pro to my Galaxy Tab S6 device. Remote play over WiFi is pretty much useless. Even having all devices disconnected from your network with just the console via a wired connection and Galaxy Tab S6 over WiFi the lag makes it unplayable. After connecting the Belkin USB C Network Adapter to my Tab S6 it right away recognized it and switched my data connection to the Ethernet. Just to make sure my connection was strictly wired I shut off the WiFi on my device. Let me just tell you I wish I would have done this so much earlier. With the Tv being used already I was left without a Tv to play my Xbox One X. I was able to beat the campaign for Doom Eternal through my Galaxy Tab S6 using via remote play. Now Doom Eternal is a fast-paced shooter that having anything above minimal lag will just get you destroyed quickly trust me almost had a rage quit moment lol. Now remote play is not perfect you will still get a little bit of lag sometimes so online multiplayer won’t be enjoyable as a single-player campaign. So yeah a wired connection is a must for remote play.
Overall if you need a wired connection for your devices the Belkin Network Adapter is a good choice not only because of power delivery capabilities, Gigabit connection, and compatibility with wide variety Android, IOS, Mac, and Window devices. Heck just for fun I even tried it on my Note 10+ device and yes it worked.

As a teacher this adapter is a MUST HAVE. I highly recommend the Insignia products because they are both reliable and durable. The multiport is a win-win for creating and presenting projects as well. Every classroom and business boardroom needs this in order to be professional. BEST BUY typically has them in stock and they are on sale frequently as well. Thank you Best Buy!
Jul 03, 2021 12:12This is a God sent since the Surface Pro X has only USB-C ports. This product provided more capability and productivity. I have utilized this product for about a month and extremely satisfied. It is plug in and use. I love that there was no extra steps to take to begin to use. I wish the cable was longer to rest on the surface. I would recommend.
Jun 22, 2021 17:45I bought this to connect my phone to a electronic piano to use it's midi features (apps like synthesia). I bought this because I can do just that without having to remove my phone case (Samsung's usb-c to female usb-a cannot). I could not for the life of me find a USB-C OTG cable. But this product isn't bad at all. It's a but bulkier than an OTG cable but it does have 2 extra ports that are useful for other reasons.
May 21, 2021 18:27I am not a tech person and had recently purchased a Roku for my TV. I wanted to connect my iPhone or my laptop and needed an adapter. This one allowed me to mirror my iPhone or my laptop perfectly. The picture was clear and crisp and it Was incredibly simple to use for this non-techy person. Highly recommend
Oct 20, 2021 06:04Purchased to display to HDMI port on TV from USB C on my laptop. Along with the other ports on the unit that provides even greatet capabilities, it attached easily and worked flawlessly.
Nov 19, 2021 16:11This is a perfect accessory for the iPad and allows you to attach things via USB and allows you to attach a cable to your TV, HDMI, And even allows pass through high speed charging I believe it was 18 watts? Perfect!!!
Nov 05, 2021 16:14This product is easy to use and it’s a moderate value, especially in comparison to the Apple branded counterpart. It’s a great adapter that supports charging through the same USB-C port while it outputs hdmi.
Oct 25, 2021 04:19This product works great and was able to provide me with what I needed to do my job after unsuccessfully arguing with my IT folks who sent me 3 separate connections that did not work with my home monitor. The Best Buy representative was able to get me what I needed in 5 minutes and even went as far as testing it in store to ensure it worked and that I would be completely satisfies. Best Buy ROCKS!!!!
Aug 04, 2021 09:50Stop moving everything closer to the outlet because your current cable can’t reach. The Platinum PT-AFCCC 6.6' USB-C to USB-C Charge-and-Sync Cable lets you stay put while still charging or syncing your device. Compatible with USB-C smartphones, tablets and more, this 6 ft. cable offers flexibility and convenience for hard-to-reach outlets. Its durable metal shell and braided design keep it protected to help it last longer, while its classic white color fits in with your other accessories. Change the way you charge, and always have your electronics within reach.
I was not expecting it to have a braided exterior. It's thick and white. Not exactly what you'd expect in the same sentence. Works good. I don't know how clean it will stay. It's too expensive for what it is. I know it's cheaper on Amazon but go here to avoid giving them money. I hate how Amazon treats their workers.
Apr 09, 2021 13:20I use this with a power delivery supported charging brick and it works great with all of my power delivery supported devices! The length is perfect as well whether you want to plug it in behind your bed or hook it up to your car.
The reason I gave it four stars overall is because it gets twisted easily.
Nov 15, 2021 08:09Love this cable, works just fine with my Macbook charger. No issues, it is actually a little longer than my original charging cable. Nice bonus, the cable is actually a braided one, which doesn't really show up well in the product pictures
Nov 13, 2021 12:44So far the cable is doing great. Was worried about getting it used but it came without any visable signs of use and is working great!
Nov 05, 2021 15:34My new F150 now comes with a USB C port. I needed a USB C to USB C cable to connect my cell phone. This cable does the job well.
Nov 05, 2021 21:22Excellent cord strength, heavy duty , wrapped and reinforced. Great length for a charging cable. Nice end pieces.
Nov 09, 2021 09:31The cord was well packaged and exactly what I was looking for. Needed it to charge my phone.
Nov 16, 2021 08:25Great service was delivered next day and wife was so happy how fast phone charges up now.
Nov 17, 2021 16:27Host high-quality watch parties of your favorite shows and steam online content on a bigger screen for everyone to watch. In addition, it supports resolutions of up to 4K, allowing you to watch movies, videos and more with a quality image that will further impress your viewers. Share your screen with those around you today and enjoy your favorite shows and movies on a full screen.
When they sell products that are already open, check that they are in good condition to sell them again, since the hdmi cable came out in bad condition.
Oct 29, 2021 16:59Not much to be said here. Purchased these along with a Surface Dock 2 for my Microsoft Surface Pro 6. These work exactly as expected and I couldn't ask for more!
I tested one of these cables on my Dell Inspiron 7306 2n1 as well as my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and confirmed that both also function as HDMI over USB-C.
Jun 16, 2021 16:06I plugged one end into my computer and the other end into my monitor. That then brought the image from my computer to the monitor as intended.
Apr 17, 2021 16:35I bought this for whenever I travel and my hotel doesn't have a smart TV. I'll just connect the USB-C to my MacBook and the HDMI to the TV in my room and watch whatever I want! It is so convenient and I highly recommend getting one of these as more and more tech products shift to USB-C.
Jun 03, 2021 14:42Being of short distance, there were no problems. As with all connectors, just need to watch how youre usong it. Leave some slack, nothing heavy pulling on the cable, ajd secure it if possible to prevent accidental damage.
Nov 20, 2021 17:47Excellent cable for hooking up cell phone with USB-C to a larger monitor when needed. A lot of times when I need a bigger screen when using my cell phone a lot this cable comes in handy, I use this cable to hook up to a TV or computer monitor. Comes in handy when needed.
Oct 25, 2021 22:18Nice quality cable. I use it for charging my oneXplayer and oculus.some of these longer cables are stiff and kinda twist awkwardly when rolled up. This one not so much. I carry it in a small case and it’s great.
Nov 08, 2021 00:52We needed this to connect a Microsoft Surface Pro to a projector for a presentation. The video over the USB to USB connection was jittery. This cable allowed us to get the video to play smoothly.
Nov 12, 2021 16:04This 2-meter USB-C 2.0 cable connects your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with Lightning connector to your computer's USB-C port for syncing and charging. Or you can connect to the Apple USB-C Power Adapter for convenient charging from a wall outlet.*
Got this for my wife, cable works as it should, unfortunately they are expensive and the of end the cable sprays out when bent sharply, almost like it was made to do that! Built In fails are part of engineering, and Apple is worried about the environment! They could make this so much better, but they won’t.
Nov 19, 2021 16:13Best charger for your Apple iPhone! Don’t use off brand charger for your phone.
Nov 15, 2021 14:10One the best items to buy if your looking for a longer wire I mean I bought cause my plug is far from my b d and I have to leave my phone on the ground to charge but anymore because of this 2m wire
Oct 30, 2021 13:56Lightening Cable faster charging.
This cable charges a lot faster than a USB Cable. Need to have a USB-C connection on your computer or a USB-C plug in adapter
Nov 13, 2021 08:51perfect for what I needed. I needed a longer charging cord to charge my phone from my MacBook Air 13".
Nov 19, 2021 17:23Excellent cable for my Tesla model y. Long enough for front or back seat charging.
Nov 19, 2021 16:42Apple - Lightning to USB-C Cable (2 m) - White Brought it as a Christmas gift
Nov 19, 2021 16:53A lot faster then the original apple charger. I recommend looking into it.
Nov 19, 2021 16:37Whether you’re working, gaming or watching a movie, why settle for a small, single-monitor display? This Insignia NS-PCKCD6 USB-C to DisplayPort Cable can take your computer setup to a whole new level. Gift yourself a theatrical experience by mirroring the display from one computer to any DisplayPort-enabled monitor. Or extend your existing display to a second monitor, making it easier to organize programs and windows for day-to-day use at work or while browsing. USB-C gives you dazzling 4K resolution at 60 Hz for high-quality video and audio. A cable length of 6 ft. lets you easily reach your monitor’s input. Its hassle-free setup requires no additional software, letting you work hard and play harder.
Got this to enable g-sync
21:9 1440p resolution and it was fully enabled
some are not 144hz capable at 1440p
To those wondering with a type c laptop that has displayport out.
worked with strix g15 and 3070 problem free.
I also like that its white its easy to differentiate from the other cables i have on my desk.
Aug 04, 2021 14:57Supports 1080p @ 240hz. Was not sure upon purchase because I couldn't find any reviews stating so. Hopefully this helps.
May 08, 2021 17:28Works well for my Zephyrus ROG G15 Laptop to my 144hz monitor. Allows me to bypass Optimus and get the most out of my GPU.
Nov 05, 2021 00:05Nice flexible high speed cable. Use to connect a computer with USB-C, but no DP port to a monitor with DP input.
Nov 02, 2021 12:121440p 144hz on a 16" MBP. No need for dongle or any other accessories, just plug and play.
Oct 27, 2020 00:55Bought the cable to hook up a monitor to the Xbox thought it would be a faster connection but it didn’t work at all, so wouldn’t recommend it for that use. Now it’s in my box with the other 20 cables that I don’t use. The quality of the cable is really good and if you have a verified use I’d guess it will serve you fine. It was a little expensive for my taste, but that could be since I’m not using it.
Mar 31, 2021 12:02Utilized to connect my MacBook pro to external display. Color value are great cables is sturdy and connection are nice and tight.
Nov 24, 2021 10:17If you need to deliver power a standard cord won't do, this cord is high quality, delivers power, signal and high-speed data!
Nov 16, 2021 19:37Stream audio and video with this black Belkin USB-C to HDMI adapter and charger. The USB-C port connector delivers up to 60W for ultra-fast device charging, while the plug-and-play design offers hassle-free use. This Belkin USB-C to HDMI adapter and charger supports 4K resolution at 60Hz for transmitting clear, detailed visuals.
>> Summary
Overall, a convenient way to expand your mobile device with a bigger screen where wireless connectivity is not available (or not desired). You can expand your USB-C laptop with a 4k screen, and you can expand your phones to a 4k screen while also being able to charge them.
- Favorable: video quality as promised, at 4k resolution video looks outstanding (well depending also on the device graphics capabilities). Charging option for your phone a plus.
- Not-so-favorable: this is no inherently to the device, but your mobile device should be able to output HDMI through USB-C.
>> One setup/configuration ideal for this device
After trying different scenarios/configurations, I see that one that would use the full features of the Belkin USB-C to HDMI/Charge is when the user uses their phone as the primary mobile device (i.e. phone dependent person) and wants to see some of their favorite shows while doing something else. For example, my wife usually follows cooking shows on her cell phone in the kitchen while doing pastries and others, and sometimes wishes she had a bigger screen phone; then the Belkin USB-C to HDMI/Charger came to the rescue, now she can have a TV near the counter (or anywhere in the kitchen) and she can follow her shows on the bigger screen and also is able to respond to her messages on her phone without running out of battery (by connecting to a power source).
>> Devices tried
I tried the Belkin device with multiple portable USB-C devices:
- Surface Tablet: I tried video capabilities using a 4k monitor, video quality just outstanding.
- Huawei P20: I tried video and charging capabilities with a 4K TV. The Belkin ended up as the perfect peripheral for the Huawei P20, the picture quality delivered was great, audio outstanding, charging with no issues, and software support just perfect. I could use the control pad to control the screen, or I could be using other apps in the small phone screen while there would be video showing on the bigger screen (very neat).
- Lumia 950XL (yes a Windows Phone): I tried video and charging using a 4k monitor and 4k TV. Video looked as good as the source device would produce, so it wasn’t that great the end result on the 4k screens, but still a great improvement to have a bigger surface. though. Charging didn’t work as expected, I had to have the power connected and then restart the Lumia for it to start charging, otherwise it wouldn’t charge.
- Sony Experia XZ2: wouldn’t work at all, it wouldn’t charge nor would output any video. There was no way to change the settings, even updating to the latest Android version and updating the Sony software. Then I learnt that it cannot output HDMI from the USB-C, so the Belkin USB-C to HDMI/Charger was useless for the device (or vice-versa).
>> Not-tested
The device is said to be Thunderbolt 3 compatible. I haven’t tested that capability as I don’t own devices with such ports.
Jul 15, 2020 16:48Had very good previous experience with Belkin products and this adapter is as good as it gets.
The adapter supports HDMI up to 4K x 60 Hz and USB-C power delivery (60 Watts).
I'm using it on my work MacBook with Thunderbolt 3 connection, and I'm able to drive a 16:10 monitor with perfect image and sound while at the same time charging it (Using only one port on the computer).
I also used it with a 4K TV, also with seamless results. The computer is able to detect the TV capabilities (resolution, size), i.e. EDID information, so the adapter is able to perform 2-way communications.
Power delivery works with up to 60 Watts.
Also used it with a Dell PC that has an USB-C display port and worked jus fine with this adapter as well.
It should also work with iPad Pros that have an USB-C connector for display out while charging.
If I have to pick something on this is that it's shell is shiny plastic which attracts fingerprints. Not a real issue.
The adapter is well constructed, with a warranty from Belkin for 2 years.
Jul 08, 2020 23:17New devices are getting slimmer and more streamlined but sometimes that means that we are losing some of the ports that we might need. One of these ports that many of the ultra-books out on the market seem to be doing without is the HDMI or VGA ports. The VGA is something that is not super required now, but HDMI is still something that comes in handy when you are trying to make the most out of a home office supported by your laptop.
This adapter does a great job of giving me that added HDMI port from the USB-C port on my laptop. It allows me to connect to an external monitor at home, and my projector once we can return to our office setting. I like that it still allows you to plug in a USB-C charger if your device supports it. This comes in handy when your device has limited USB-C ports.
A simple, effective adapter that helps to extend my digital workspace. The only thing that I would add is that this adapter supports up to 60Hz refresh rate so if your device and monitor support higher, just keep this in mind. The refresh rate should not affect most folks just looking at doing some work in email, MS Office, or web browsers. An easy recommendation for anyone looking for a simple USB-C to HDMI adapter.
Jul 12, 2020 15:41I got this Belkin - USB Type C-to-HDMI/USB Type C Cable - Black so that I can connect my laptop to another monitor, while I work. I struggled, because I did not have an HDMI connection on my computer, so I had to find something to allow me to use another monitor while working from home. To the rescue, is the USB Type C adapter, where I can plug my large monitor into my new device. it supports 4K resolution, so no degradation here. It says it is compatible with either Mac or PC, but I only used it on my Windows device. Since it is occupying the USB Type C plug on the computer, I can plug something else into this device too, because it has an additional USB Type C female input as well. It is a 60 watt Pass through power connection.
Jul 17, 2020 17:22This dongle works as designed. I was able to connect it to the USB-C port on my Samsung Galaxy S10 phone, 10-inch Galaxy S4 tablet, and 15-inch Dell laptop (see pics). With the use of an HDMI cable (not included), I was able to display all three devices on my TV. And because the dongle has an additional USB-C port for charging, I was able to charge the device while presenting.
Charging is accomplished by using the charging adapter and USB-C cable that came with your device. So instead of plugging the cable directly into your device, you plug it into the dongle, then plug the dongle into your device. There are plenty of after market chargers out there that can be used to charge your devices, but keep in mind that the dongle allows up to 60-watts of power to pass through it. Meaning, it can easily keep your Andriod phone and iPhone charged, as well as an Andriod tablet and iPad, and many laptops that require 60 watts or fewer. The notable exceptions are the latest MacBook Pros laptops that come with an 87-watt charger, as well as power-hungry gaming PCs. While a 60-watt charger can charge a MacBook pro, it may not be enough to power it properly when in use. There is a chance that the device will continue to drain, albeit slower, if your running resource intensive programs. Still, it won’t stop you from using the dongle to output your display to an external monitor, TV, or projector.
This is a quality accessory with the added bonus of powering your device up to 60-watts. On top of that, it can also handle 4K video.
And just in case anyone is wondering, it cannot be used with a Nintendo Switch. It wasn’t designed for that. I tested it on my Switch just to double check, and the Switch wouldn’t recognize the dongle, therefor it didn’t send a video signal to my TV. The dongle was designed for laptop computers, tablets, and phones with a USB-C connection. Just make sure your device is designed to output video through it’s USB-C connection.
Jul 11, 2020 21:22Works awesome with HTMI cable and Mac book pro charging port.
Sep 28, 2021 12:06The HDMI adapter works well with my Samsung S20+5G phone. The only issue I had was the little trick about the charging cable. The adapter seems to work without it, and the phone detects the adapter right away. The phone went into Samsung Dex mode so I could use the TV screen and phone more like a PC and a mouse. However when I tried to view a video on Netflix or Amazon, it would only work for a a few seconds and then quit with some error. Turns out, once I plugged in the power cord to the Adapter, all the errors stopped and it works great. So that power input is not just to charge your phone. It makes the adapter work properly as well.
Oct 08, 2021 15:49This usb c to hdmi cable is excellent. I use it on a 2016 Macbook pro to share the display to an external monitor with wireless keyboard and mouse. It allows you to charge your computer and share HDMI feed through just one us-c port.
Jan 03, 2021 19:55Connect multiple peripherals to Mac, Windows and USB Type-C devices with this HyperDrive hub. The USB Type-C port charges compatible devices, and the three USB 3.0 Type-A ports offer prompt data access. Attach monitors using the HDMI, mini DisplayPort or VGA connectors, while the microSDXC and SDXC card readers offer speeds up to 104MB/sec. This HyperDrive hub has an Ethernet port for fast Internet connectivity.
This thing works as advertised. But, it's always warm to the touch whether I use it or not. I think that's unusual. However, if I get up earlier than normal and the office room is a bit chilly, I just pick this thing up and hold it in my hand. Nice warm hands . . .
One other thing. Getting the USB plugs in and out require some real effort. They don't just slide in and out like is usually the case.
Mar 06, 2021 11:28I really like this
Nice 9 port
Easy to connect
But it as a little hot at first time connect to MacBook Pro m1
Nice lovely material
Good quality
and really small
Mar 29, 2021 03:15Replace my other model for this one.
The other one had 2c port to plug in to my mbp and noticed it was losing connection.
Jan 15, 2021 22:26I use this with my iPad Pro 11” and it works perfectly. The only downside to this item is that it tends to get pretty hot and if you plan to use the HDMI output, make sure to use it in short durations. I also wish that it had a activity led to let you know when your SD card is being read or written to.
Oct 22, 2019 15:44My new laptop could use more ports so I bought this to solve that. And it does. Works perfectly, is small, stays out of the way and has the ports I need.
Two things kept me from giving it 5 stars, I wish the usb-c cable was a little longer than the 8" provided and WOW, this baby gets HOT when in use. I have to grab it gingerly to plug in another peripheral. There is no way that I could unplug it immediately after use and slide it into a pants pocket if in a hurry. I suppose the laptop bag would be the best place but was surprised at how hot it gets.
Nov 12, 2021 16:22I almost gave this a poor rating but it turned out to be an issue with my Dell laptop. When I first plugged it in, I got an error message of Not Enough Power for the device. I tried plugging it in before and after boot up to no avail. I gave up on it and was too lazy to return it. A.couple week ago I really needed it so I tried again, only this time I plugged it into the port on the back corner of my laptop instead of the one on the side like before and what do you know, it worked fine, so apparently Dell doesn’t wire the 2 ports the same on my laptop. That was frustrating and just luck I figured it out. Bottom line, the hub works great!!
Oct 29, 2021 17:01First, hdmi port only pushes 4K at 30hz so if you want 60hz (and I’m sure you do cuz 30 is awful), you’ll need to buy a single port adapter for hdmi 4K. Beyond that this unit works and does what it should. I run an external mouse, keyboard and HD through it no problem as well as an UA recording interface. I dig this model over the few that take up two of your c ports. Not really worth losing that extra port. If you need more ports I’d recommend you buy of these or something similar. It connects snug. Doesn’t fall out. No problems.
Oct 11, 2019 17:06In the past I have always used Dell laptops along with their port replicator docking stations. Place your laptop in the docking station and you have a "desktop computer." Dell has moved away from the docking station port replicators so as an alternative I am using the Hyper Drive 9 Port "Docking Station". The reality is you are plugging in cables for your peripheral devises such as printers, ethernet cables, external speakers and keyboards mouse & power supply etc. It is a cumbersome replacement for what once was an easy way to convert your laptop into a desktop computer. It gets the job done with all of the cables plugged into the Hyperdrive "Docking Station" with only one USB-C plugged into the laptop. My Dell XPS laptop comes supplied with a 130 Watt power supply. The Hyperdrive "Docking Station" supplies only 110 watts of power. My Dell XPS will gives an error message stating the power supply is a slow charger and plug in the factory supplied power supply. Under heavy usage such as Photo or video editing the power supply does not provide enough power and the battery does loose some of it's charge. The hyperdrive is a workaround for what once was a great system.
Apr 05, 2021 12:34When your new computer accessory isn’t compatible with your hardware, don’t go buying all new expensive devices. Instead, give this adapter a try. The Insignia NS-PA3C3A USB-C to USB Adapter lets you connect standard USB products to your Mac, iPad and other USB-C enabled products. It supports up to 5 Gbps of high-speed data transfer between devices, saving you time. The attached, short, braided cable is both stylish and durable with a compact design that can easily go anywhere you do. Secure a compatible connection and forget about replacing devices with this Insignia adapter.
This is the second Insignia brand adapter we have purchased for our Mac computers, and both have been great with no issues (other than the one with lots of ports getting hot in use). But this adapter has been able to keep the speed up, and it has never ejected the drive(s) without me physically telling it to eject. So the reliability during use is great. Definitely worth the buy and does as well as the Apple version (my husband has a Apple one, and this one is very comparable).
Nov 16, 2021 15:12Works perfectly, but could be a couple of inches longer.
Nov 18, 2021 18:30Charge a compatible phone, tablet or even a laptop with this Native Union USB-C to USB-C belt cable. An LED indicator keeps you up-to-speed on charging progress, and the 100W capacity provides enough power to charge a laptop. A genuine leather strap keeps this Native Union USB-C to USB-C belt cable secure, and the 8-foot length offers flexible placement.
Love native union products. The cable serves two purposes for me. I can charge my iPad and my Oculus Quest and it also serves as a link cable to connect and play pc vr game on my laptop with my quest 2. I have a you tube channel where I review and play vr games and equipment called VRGamerz and I can say that this cable is awesome great quality materials and has weight to it.
Jan 22, 2021 20:07Bought this item in Jan 2021, it is now May 2021 and the item is completely frayed at the usb-c joint, it has stopped charging my tablet. I tried patching it up with electrical tape but it hasn't helped, still will no longer charge. Will not purchase again,
May 18, 2021 12:55The cable completely fell apart after one month of use. The end that came apart has been plugged into a charger since the day it arrived and we've even unplugged it.
Apr 25, 2021 18:06I believe if I'm not in error that I purchased this to connect a laptop to my big screen Vizio TV. They have a cord long enough to reach halfway across the room and still burrow the cord out of sight. Best buy just happened to have the best price on this HDMI compatible connection cord or USB.
Nov 12, 2021 06:27I have a Ipad and for some reason APPLE does not feel it is important to make a longer cord. BOOOOOO. So I use to plug the short apple cord into an extension cord. I decided I was done with that went out and bought the Native Union cord and I am so happy. Not more extension cord and I have plenty of length. It is made very well and I am HAPPY.
Aug 18, 2021 09:53Recommend the C-Cable.
I have stepped on it, thrown it (don't ask why), spilled coffee on it, no issues.
It's been folded and bent in every direction; it still works after four months of beatings.
Oct 06, 2021 21:15I love these cords! They're highly durable and far better than the cheapy ones that come with your apple products!
Nov 05, 2021 19:35Really nice accessory. It’s appearance is professional and it has a thick, quality feel.
Nov 17, 2021 16:37Access valuable information quickly with this StarTech adapter cable. It provides optimal accessibility to any standard 2.5-inch SATA solid-state or hard-disk drive, and it provides simple connectivity for data backups and migrations. This StarTech adapter cable connects through a laptop's USB-C port, and it can copy data at speeds up to 10 Gbps.
This cable is a great cable if you have a drive failure in your computer and it will not boot up you will have to replace it and with this cable you can recover your data from the old drive.
Feb 16, 2020 12:08Best way to get your files from a computer that not working no more through the hard drive
Aug 01, 2021 13:58Does exactly as advertised, however just in case you’re like me and didn’t realize, but you still need to power the drive with some kind of power supply and an ide cable.
Nov 25, 2020 19:24I have the USB A to SATA. Now with the dongle life, I knew the SATA could connect to USB C. It works fine. Only time with tell about its endurance.
Jan 17, 2021 21:31I have a handful of external drives that I use in an external recorder and this handy adapter makes it fast and easy accessing the files on all those drives.
Jul 03, 2020 17:15Works as intended. Just connected my old drive and can start grabbing anything that was there. Thanks Best Buy!!!
Sep 11, 2020 15:42The tool works great for making an image of your drive for backup or doing an SSD upgrade.
Jan 06, 2018 06:38Cable was able to connect a CD/DVD drive to my computer.
Oct 03, 2020 17:51Whether you’re working, gaming or watching a movie, why settle for a small, single-monitor display? This Insignia NS-PCACD USB-C to DisplayPort Adapter can take your computer setup to a whole new level. Gift yourself a theatrical experience by mirroring the display from one computer to any DisplayPort-enabled monitor. Or extend your existing display to a second monitor, making it easier to organize programs and windows for day-to-day use at work or while browsing. USB-C gives you dazzling 4K (3840 × 2160) resolution at 60 Hz for high-quality video and audio. Its hassle-free setup requires no additional software, letting you work hard and play harder.
Prior to purchasing this adapter, I had my ASUS GU502GV laptop and HP OMEN 27i monitor connected via HDMI. Unfortunately, HDMI didn't support G-SYNC. Using this adapter with a DisplayPort cable I had laying around, I was able to take advantage of G-SYNC. So far, so good!
Feb 25, 2021 13:35Bought this for my Oculus Rift S since it has a display port plug in and my laptop doesn't. Some said this wouldn't work on laptop but it works on mine. Mine is the Asus Zephyrus g14 and I've had no issues with it. Works great!
Dec 27, 2020 01:49Works great with MacBook Pro (latest model) if using dual monitors make sure to have this one plugged on opposite side of other connection
Apr 30, 2021 16:43Great product but disappointed with the staff. I bought this because the Adapter port connector wasn't working on my son's Rift S VR headset. I asked the staff, if Best Buy sold an Adapter port C connector. The individual proceeded to tell me that i was going to have to backorder through the website. I politely said thank you, Googled what I needed, saw that it was sold at Best Buy, asked a different where it was located, bought it and haven't had any issues.
Jul 19, 2021 10:56It works well with my computer. It resolves my duel monitor issue with Mac mini.
Oct 31, 2021 16:12Perfect! I have a second monitor that I use display ports for so I needed an adapter that would go from the display port to my type c plug in on my laptop.
Works out perfect! I would desire for the length to be longer, but still works great!
Jul 20, 2021 20:32Worked as described and well priced! Would purchase again.
Nov 17, 2021 22:09Already 3+ months with them. No problems at all. they do what they need to do. I have them connected to my LG 32 120Hz 1440p Monitors and speed and resolution is good
Apr 11, 2021 03:14Our USB-C 4-in-1 Multiport Adapter with up to 5 Gbps of bandwidth is the perfect all-in-one solution to connect your USB-C laptop to multiple devices. The small, compact design allows you to create a mini workstation or travel between workspaces with ease. It also supports pass-through charging up to 100W, eliminating the need to choose between port expansion and power.
Ok. So, first of all, the adapter works as intended and all of the ports function. It doesn't get super-hot, and power delivery over the USB-C port works just fine too! My biggest issue is that this dock caps the refresh rate at 60hz at 1440p. I have a 165hz capable monitor from DELL. If I use Apple's official dongle/adapter that has the HDMI port, it can output at-least 144hz to my monitor. So... while this dongle works great, if you have a high refresh rate monitor that you want to take advantage of, look elsewhere.
TLDR: It's a great adapter, but if you need more than 60hz on the monitor you're connecting, look elsewhere.
Oct 14, 2021 13:46I was lucky enough to get free items from Belkin to review. Overall the quality of the packaging looked great. When I opened up the USB-C 4-in-1 multiport adaptor, it looks and seems like a very compatible product. Very lightweight and perfect size. I can definitely take this item anywhere with me! So far, from the looks of it, it will become very handy for me to use. Also, after using it, it was very easy to connect and get set up! Highly recommended!
Aug 16, 2021 16:14I have two HDMI monitors and only one port on my laptop. I purchased this Belkin 4-in-1 instead of paying $160 to buy a docking station from Dell. This works great. Takes all of 10 seconds to plug in and my screens extend perfectly.
Aug 27, 2021 16:07Works well but I should have bought a 7-port which would have helped clean up the wires on my desk. Cable could have been another 6" longer, that would have been helpful.
Aug 28, 2021 20:20I was lucky enough to get free items from Belkin to review. Over all the quality of the packaging looked premium. When I opened up the USB-C 4-in-1 multiport adaptor, it look high quality. Has a nice weight to it. Feel like it can take a beating inside my laptop bag. Lol. So far I like what I see. It has 2 USB, 1 HDMI port and 1 USB C. Overall the look and feel is great. Will be using this as my main adapter.
Aug 14, 2021 18:28Far better than my previous adapter that died on me and superior to a cheaper brand I tried initially that failed. I'm glad I spent the extra bucks.
Nov 15, 2021 17:42I've been using this adapter for several weeks now and I have had no issues with it. It works as expected with no issues.
Nov 19, 2021 22:38No complaints. Use this with my overly sized monitor to compensate for my lack of gaming skills. This is used with my Samsung G9 and my MacBook Pro M1 and displays perfect and crap.
Oct 24, 2021 23:44Expand your laptop's connection port with this Insignia USB Type-C multi-port adapter. It has an HDMI port for transmitting 4K content to your external monitor and can also charge other devices with its 60W output. This Insignia USB Type-C multi-port adapter also has a Type-A output for syncing various devices.
Cheaper than the apple equivalent I was apprehensive about purchasing but after reading the reviews I decided to take a chance. I am a DJ and it is critical that my 2017 touchbar MacBook Pro work with no room for error! I am happy to report It works perfectly and I am super happy with my purchase.
Dec 15, 2017 16:20Yasss!!! Finally found the MHL Video n audio adapter to connect my samsung galaxy note 9 via usb c powered 60watts n hdmi only. With usb 3.0 optional port. I have yet to plug into My laptops. Then use samsung plug n play devX to use with my Note9 touch program in horizontal orientation. Yeayeah. Then. Waiting for 4k yet to test. N buy one. Overall happy today. JOANIETECH former GeekSquad in NJ n Simi Valley, CA
Oct 24, 2019 16:14I bought a new apple laptop and unfortunately it does not have the USB ports like the older versions. That is why I had to buy this product.
Apr 20, 2019 20:01This is a nice way to allow me to connect my new laptop to other devices and to charge my phone and to attach a flash drive as needed. It's an inexpensive solution to the problem of not having ports on the laptop.
Oct 26, 2018 18:25TL; DR: If you are trying to decide on whether to buy this dongle or the pricy Apple-branded version, I have both. The quality difference is noticeable both in function and build. This product, while functional, exemplifies that axiom: "You get what you pay for"
--
I bought this as a "need it now" purchase, and when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Apple stores were closed, online was going to take 1-2 days, AP didn't have any in stock--you get the idea. Kudos to BBY for having this one in stock, it really came through in a pinch. A+
I already have the the Apple-branded equivalents (i.e., Multiport HDMI and VGA Multiports) for other setups in our home so I at least have a baseline to compare this Insignia model to having used it for about two months.
Having it in your hand, you can feel the difference in build quality immediately. The Apple version feels solid, firm, and well-made; this one feels cheap. The Insignia casing feels very hollow and does not feel like it will survive too long, especially if it's being shuttled between rooms, projectors, TVs, etc. I would only recommend this dongle if it was used only in a stationary location (e.g., Living Room TV) and not being routinely unplug/replugged. Candidly, the Apple-branded version of this dongle is nearly twice the price yet the build quality may be worth it.
The labelling is peculiar. All the ports are upside down (cf. product image) yet on the bottom, all the ports are labelled. Whoever designed this adapter should have had the ports turned rightside-up so this smells like a last-minute "oops" when they sent it to manufacturing. [The Apple variant does not share this peculiarity.]
Functionality, the Insignia model is OK/FAIR; it displays well on the 1080p HP screen I bought with it and there are no issues with video quality, color, etc.
USB 3.0 functionality is fine until you decide to unplug something, the dongle will often drop the HDMI connection entirely; most times it recovers, sometimes it does not. [Meanwhile, the Apple-branded version does not share this issue at all.]
If you plug in something that uses power/data (e.g., iPhone), it is a tad noisy (e.g., capacitors) so you'll hear the screeching of capacitors while it's humming along with data and power. If you are recording in a sound-sensitive environment, the noise may be a concern. [The Apple-branded versions are always dead-silent.]
Data goes through fine and power is applied without any problems. I haven't run a speed test or anything but functionality, thus far, appears to be OK.
The HDMI physical connection is far less forgiving than the Apple-branded equivalent. On the Apple dongle, the cable slides right in, and is otherwise uneventful; however, on this Insignia model, it has to be slid in perfectly straight otherwise the cable will not go in all the way. [I can't decide if this was a design compromise for the price or an outright flaw; the upside-down ports lead me to think it's the latter.]
Power "pass-through" is only ~60W but if you unplug or lose power, the dongle will drop all of your connections (e.g., HDD, Video, etc.). [As you guessed, the Apple-branded model does not have this issue.]
For what I need it for, a simple HDMI adapter with an occasional USB device attached, it's works OK so long as it's not being asked to do very much.
By comparison to the Apple-branded equivalent, the design and functional compromises may or may not be a concern for some. In hindsight, had the Apple-branded dongle been in stock, I would have skipped this one and bought that one instead. I would not use this dongle outside the house or with any external data storage devices that were mission critical (e.g., Time Machine, large data transfers, etc.) given how temperamental it is to power delivery.
Sep 16, 2020 13:26Great accessory for the MacBook. This little device has USB 2.0/3.0 port, 4K HDMI port and a USB C port for charging and accessories. It’s compact, lightweight and easy to use. Plug-and-play.
Jun 22, 2018 22:05Works with my MacBook Pro with Wacom & canon scanner (USB) it does not work on my Samsung monitor (HDMI) . For the price is it worth it.
Sep 20, 2021 00:23it works great and is extremely handy.
the only things I would change
Make it 1/8-1/4 wider. Sometimes the stuff I want to plug in are a little too big and they push against each other.
The other thing is if could pass a little more power to the ports. I've ran into things not working because there wasn't enough power getting to it.
And maybe reinforce the cable at either end. I can see the strain from use wearing connections out.
Sep 17, 2021 20:06Transmit Full HD content to an external display with this three-port j5create USB-C to HDMI adapter hub. It supports high-definition resolutions up to 3840 x 2160, and it has a USB Type-C port for charging a compatible gadget. The USB 3.0 port of this j5create USB-C to HDMI adapter hub provides high-speed data transfers up to 5 Gbps.
So far I used the adaptor so I can plug my phone in to charge . It’s not too big fits inside my case . Made with strong material and wire it won’t break easily .
Jun 21, 2019 18:09Works great except power delivery is lacking. 28hrs to fully charge phone when direct to charger was about 1.5.
Mar 09, 2021 22:03My phone screen crashed n damage couldn't see it was blank so I bought this to help me connect this to the tv using the hdmi works great.
Sep 27, 2019 22:12I bought this adapter to connect my Samsung S4 tab to my Sony HDTV. This TV is old and is not a smart TV. The adapter works great and now I can enjoy my tablet more with a bigger screen. Also you can charge the tablet at the same time. I recommend it.
Mar 01, 2020 11:05There is plenty of external adapters out there. I recommend you find the one that best meets your need. Don't spend money if you don't need it or will use all the ports. I purchased this one because it meets my need. One USB, HDMI if I choose to use my monitor, and one power. Works fine for me
Aug 22, 2021 22:18I bought it for my switch by it's not intended for that.
Oct 29, 2017 10:19Works as intended. Wish it was black though.
It'd be perfect if it had a headphone jack. But it's still pretty good.
Nov 06, 2021 01:57Overall a good value. As with most USB-C hubs I think it's overpriced for what you get. This hub only needed to run a monitor, keyboard/mouse combo, so it gets the job done. There seems to be a slightly longer lag for the monitor to come on when using this hub compared to others that I use, but not a deal-breaker. If you just need a simple hub for a basic setup or for travel this will get the job done. No room for expansion, so if you see a need to hardwire your ethernet, printer, or a webcam you will need to look elsewhere.
