I couldn't be more pleased - this is definitely a high quality CD reader. DVD-ROM drive came in a well packaged box, the drive wrapped and then placed in a foam housing to keep it safe during shipping and handling. There is also an included CD-ROM which contains several piece of software, none of which are required to install the drive and use it. Plug and play. That's pretty much it.Apr 03, 2020 16:16
I wonder if I am the only person that uses dvd drives anymore . It's getting harder to find cases that include them anymore . I must have purchased about 10 of these over the last decades for different builds . To my knowledge they are all going on strong . The price was usually around 20 dollars tooJan 02, 2021 09:49
Used this to rip my old cds so I can use hem on my computer.Jun 09, 2021 17:05
Pretty standard optical drive, hardly anyone has use for one these days. I wanted one replace my external optical drive that was over 10 years old.Jul 07, 2021 21:41
Have used these drives for years without problems. Quality drive that holds up.Aug 24, 2021 10:27
my old cd player blew up cds inside it so had to buy new one great cd drive burns great and is fast i recommend itJul 23, 2021 18:41
Needed a DVD drive and they're becoming scarce. Have other ASUS products, ie motherboards, and am very satisfied. Price was the main draw, well worth it.Mar 07, 2021 15:32
works just fine and it was just $22.00
just as good as the originalAug 20, 2021 16:58
Use this LG GH24NSB0 DVD±RW/CD-RW drive to back up your important data on single- and double-layer DVD media and play back a full range of Blu-ray, DVD and CD formats. The 2MB buffer with underrun protection ensures consistent burning results.
Needed to replace my dvd-rom in my computer, Best Buy was convenient on my purchase of computer parts.Aug 22, 2021 22:13
I bought this because my parents wanted a cheap replacement optical drive to use in their computer. It serves that purpose, however there are two issues I have with the drive. It's slow to eject and, despite the image, does not have LightScribe.Dec 14, 2016 18:13
I'm somewhat pleased with my purchase, although I think the computer was a bit pricey. The processor speed is nice and the screen resolution is great. In order to accommodate my needs (multiple storage drives for video editing), I had to purchase a Thunderbolt port and an optical drive. This added another $75 to the purchase price.
I’ve used the computer for a month now. The keyboard is somewhat difficult to see unless it is bathed in bright light and the touch and feel of the left and right click on the keypad is clunky. I can process large video files quickly and the screen renders a beautiful image.Jul 18, 2021 22:41
It had a lightscribe photo on webpage and still to this day almost A YEAR later, it still does AFTER I brought it to BB attention. I thought I would be getting that feature, replacing my existing LS DVD drive, but I didn't. THIS IS NOT A LIGHTSCRIBE FEATURED DVD player ignore that logo on the photo. There, now YOU know. So, I am back to sharpies to mark and label my supply of perfectly good LightScribe media, but at least it burns well, quickly, and consistently. It is also considerably quieter than my old Lite-On DVD burner drive. 4 Stars only, because of the lack of truth, in their website advertising. FIX the photo folks.Aug 17, 2017 01:28
Simple to install - works like expected
Have not tried the accompanying display software.
Requires the proper cable from the PC motherboard to the drive that did not come with the drive.Nov 03, 2021 18:56
Excellent, but I had to purchase a SATA adapter. After attempting to replace my existing CD writer inside the computer case, I realized that the face would not fit through the front of my computer tower, so I purchased a SATA adapter and connected it to an outlet and the USB connector on the back of my tower. Works like a charm now, and is way faster than the stock version that came with my computer. Plus, it writes "M-Discs" which last hundreds of years, so I'll let you know around 2550 or so if the discs actually last that long.Feb 19, 2021 16:06
The dvd player is small and fits easily virtually anywhere. The dvd tray seems fragile as it starts to bend downward as I search for the center hole with my finger to lift the dvd out of the tray. The remote, in my opinion, is too small for anyone with medium sized hands to utilize in the dark. So far I am happy.Mar 13, 2021 15:57
Good product, good burn speed and reasonable priceOct 22, 2021 16:07
This Sony BDP-S6700 Blu-ray player with 4K upscaling has built-in super Wi-Fi through MIMO. This lets you stream live from online services. Built-in Bluetooth and SongPal Link stream movies and music or connect your devices through HDMI, coaxial output, USB or Ethernet. This Sony Blu-ray player with 4K upscaling also offers child lock and parental controls.
You're looking for HULU this isn't the player for you. Good product but limited on the apps that you may use.Jun 15, 2021 11:57
For a budget Blu-Ray Player, built-in LAN and all, it's a very good one, compared to similar players in that price range.Feb 15, 2020 07:30
It is very consistent, haven't had any issues with it at all. It looks sleek n the remote has multiple functions, more than I care to use! LolJan 05, 2018 16:54
This replaced a Sony unit that was hit by a surge through the Ethernet or HDMI cables from the cable box. It ran every thing well for five + years. I wanted the same unit, but it wasn't being made. This one is close to it. This one has a door that folds down when the disc is loaded. There is a good size gap along the top of the door and the top of the drive box. Quality control was bad on this unit. The unit box was not packed in another box. The box looked like it had slid from one side to the other in the truck. I don't expect this one to last as long.Jul 07, 2020 00:20
A very nice blu ray and comes loaded with great appsJun 16, 2018 16:02
The name says 4K UHD Upscale, but it doesn’t play 4K UHD discs. Just received The Martian and it doesn’t work.Apr 20, 2021 21:21
our first one crapped out (it did not have the internet capabilities) the blue ray quit working. around Christmas we got another one with internet/wifi abilities and the blue ray on this one is getting glitchy, freezing, and no longer finding certain mobile hotspots. I have kept software up to date and it hasn’t dropped or anything. We will definitely not be purchasing another. It was also expensive for a poor quality product.
The current model we have BDP-s6700. We may not even buy another Sony. Our Samsung player lasted yeaaaars with streaming abilities and little kids watching dvds/blue ray all the time.Jan 29, 2020 07:30
I am reviewing the Sony - BDP-S6700 Streaming 4K Upscaling Wi-Fi Built-In Blu-ray Player. Although I have access to Netflix, Amazon and such I did not want to stop viewing my dvd collection. This is the easiest player to work with and the image is perfect. It is small and light and includes its own remote. I printed the image with the price before going to the store and although the price was higher in-store, the lower price in my online copy was honored. I consider that good service. If you are searching for an inexpensive, quality Blu-ray player; this is it.Jul 08, 2018 17:35
Achieve high-quality visuals on every play with this Panasonic UHD Blu-ray player (Model DP-UB150-K). Deep color HDMI output and 4K upscaling delivers immersive enjoyment of your favorite movie titles, showing images at their very best. Featuring Dolby Atmos and HDR10+ compatibility, this Panasonic UHD Blu-ray player immerses you both in lifelike sound and images.
The DVD Player isn't too bad but is shoddly made. The controls for the DVD Slot takes several times to open and close, I had a large fan about 4 feet to the right of the Player and when I would turn the DVD Player on the fan would start working as well. I would have to manually to off the fan. I have since moved the fan. It still works but not as well as I hoped.Jan 29, 2021 19:03
Sure glad I kept the remote from my old one (on the right)! Apparently Panasonic intends this for the kid's room-very little kids-you know, with tiny little hands! And the old one has tv volume buttons!
I found setting it up a little confusing, but it does what it's supposed to do with no bs!Feb 27, 2021 06:11
I thought I wanted a simple Blu ray player. And this indeed delivered. Delivered great 4k quality. The menu is lightweight with no bloatware. Panasonic commits to bringing updates to it over time. Not flashy in anyway.
Unfortunately, it was so simple it didn't fit my use case here at home. I wasn't able to use it to access my digital copies of my Blu ray collection. So I am upgrading to the magnolia version of this one.Sep 12, 2020 14:22
i got this because bb made me buy a 4k tv ,,, and after watching a couple of movies ,, this has been working without any problems ..
very happy with details of the picture quality and operations .. and just wanted a basic player and did wanna pay for all other kinds of features. . that i donna use ..Dec 25, 2020 16:28
Wow, this 4k player is awesome! Standard DVD's are upscaled, Blu Ray are also upscaled and 4k movies are like your right there on set in real life! Excellent price plus I had a coupon, this player can do it all, no need to spend way more than you need to, this is it for me. Pictures included in review. (Some say the remote is way to small, it's the exact same size as my new 4k tv. I have zero issues with the remote size)Oct 08, 2021 16:13
Money well spent! For the price I paid for this player it provides just what needed. The picture quality and Dolby atmos puts you definitely into theater mode. The only tiny thing I don’t like about this is the fact it doesn’t have the digital audio output it just have the orange optical. And yes it’s just basic! No Netflix and YouTube here but who needs that anyway. I have plenty of devices to replace for those apps. But all in all I love this player so far and I forgot to say how quiet the player is not like that loud garbage disposal Sony.Nov 26, 2020 06:41
This works great. Besides just being an UHD Blu-Ray player, the front USB port will also work with external hard drives. I rip my DVD and Blu-Ray collection down to hard drive for convenience, and I can attach my USB hard drive to the front port and watch the DVDs and BluRays through this player. The USB port on my TV will *not* support USB hard drives, only flash drives, so this was a nice discovery that this player works with USB hard drives.Sep 25, 2020 15:57
I do not need a fancy player with features my tv or streamers already have. I just need a box to play a disc and pass the signal to my tv and sound system unfiltered and unchanged. This worked perfectly for my HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos, and etc etc. No need to spend money on extra "features" when I only want a disc read and data passed to TV (unfiltered and unchanged). Worked perfectly with my 2021 "top of the line" Samsung model. I recommend. This review is after 3 months of use, and well evaluated.Nov 04, 2021 11:33
Make digital copies of videotape footage with this Roxio VHS to DVD converter pack. The USB capture device has RCA and mini-DIN inputs to connect a VHS player or camcorder to a computer for video playback. The video editing software of this Roxio VHS to DVD converter pack lets you enhance video quality.
I took the product home, read the instructions on the package and manual. Found my results on the burn wouldn’t playback on my player or laptop. I asked Geek Squad for help. They tested my equipment and diagnosed it required purchase a new DVD player.Apr 07, 2019 13:13
It successfully converted my old Goosebumps VHS to DVD, but the entire movie had to be watches and recorded. So each mlvie takes as long as the movie is.Sep 23, 2019 07:51
This product tends to work pretty well, though I have had a few issues w/them over the years, namely: The authorization string sometimes only gives you the 'non-plus' version, unlike the package says; the external capture hardware (card?) can get very warm/hot and I've sometimes had to shut the system down for a little while (~30 minutes or so usually works) to get it to cool down and work again, though I suppose unplugging its external hardware from the USB port might work just as well; getting support via their customer support phone line seems to be somewhat arduous, at least since they were bought by Corel, though the last time I called they did eventually get back to me and follow up. Also, just FYI, if the hardware (USB capture card) dies, you'll have to get a whole new package, software and all, as they don't sell just the external capture device/hardware separately...or so they told me. This was problematic for me, as I've had a few of the external devices go bad over the years, due to power surges (I suspect) and it's most annoying to have to keep paying full price to buy a whole new package each time when I don't need the software again. All that aside, when it works, it's pretty good.Oct 12, 2020 14:49
I bought this product and used it to make dozens of clips of various sizes. I paid $39.95 when the software was on sale. It's about as easy to use as it can be, although I wish there was a way to edit multiple clips together instead of just being able to work within a single clip.
I had a problem in which the first and last 2 seconds of every clip has noticeable degradation in video quality. If someone has a fix for this problem, I would love to know it.
Installing this product also created a frustrating issue with my DVD drive that prevented me from using it for anything at all -- not just stuff within this software. After a bit of Googling, I found a Microsoft page that acknowledged the problem and walked me through exactly how to fix it.
The page is here:
The page reads:
"This issue may have occurred after one of the following situations... You install or uninstall CD or DVD recording programs."
"Method 4" is what fixed it for me.Dec 24, 2019 06:38
It did what I needed it to do. I took my old video camera memories to Wal-Mart to have them transfer into DVD, when I got the DVD, I notice that there was allot of time missing. They left out about 30 minutes of memories out per tape. So I both this VHS to DVD equipment to do it my self. It work great, after all the program is loaded into your computer, I just open it, rewind the tape and hit record and left it alone. I like the fact that I can leave it recording and it just stopped by itself when it's done.Dec 22, 2018 07:38
The load went well. However the load had an effect on the registry of Win 7 which corrupted a setting. I spent several hours trying to fix it and in the end had to use the REGEDIT feature to remove a line of code that affected the software identification of CD/DVD drives. I have successfully transfered my first casette to DVD.Oct 02, 2021 15:49
For $39 bucks great deal. For installation you have to install software requires code that is printed on cd install disc sleeve. A little patience is needed to learn. took about a hour to learn the process. Make sure to get the update. Process did not work until there was a notification window saying download update. After that it was smooth process. You have to hit play on the vcr and click the record button on the pc screen at the same time to start the transfer the great part is you can rip to your hard drive then get it to google photos so you have a cloud copy. I was not interested in the editing capabilities so I won’t get into that. Wish it was more clear that program could rip to hard drive then I wouldn’t have needed to buy blank dvds which I don’t use for anything anymoreJun 01, 2018 20:48
This is my second purchase. They seemed to have cleaned up some of the bugs. Maybe it's that I am using a faster CPU now, but I have done hundreds of hours of recording without any freeze ups or distortion.Aug 31, 2019 20:09
View older videos with more clarity by using this CleanDr VHS head cleaner. The dirt and dust buildup that VCRs harbor on the tape-playing mechanisms are removed when this cassette is played. The dry, nonabrasive cleansing activity of this CleanDr VHS head cleaner safely clears accumulated grime for improved future operation.
Cleans well. This is a must if you still have an old VCR.Mar 29, 2021 08:45
This has helped my ancient vcr stop from eating my old vhs tapes. I know eventually I will have to convert my tapes but in the meantime this helps preserve them.Jan 07, 2020 12:49
Cleaned old VHS players that hadn't been used in many years.Sep 25, 2020 16:17
hard to find these any more, happy best buy has them , works as it shouldSep 26, 2021 09:13
This product is great if you want to keep your vcr heads clean. I have a bunch of videos from my kids and my vcr wasn’t playing right so I bought the cleaning tape and the first try the images came out super awesome.Mar 04, 2021 00:11
Good deal for price. Everywhere else the cleaner was at higher priceJul 04, 2020 15:04
Truly unable to evaluate. The product jammed twice. Could be due to VCR being old and not functioning.Apr 23, 2021 15:38
It worked automatically but not sure it ran long enough.Feb 01, 2021 11:40
