I got this tv slightly used and Geek Squad Certified. I want to start off by saying the 4k on this tv with hdr for video games is AMAZING!!!! I’m in love with it. The free cable is a big PLUS on this tv from watching shows like Wild n Out to Gordam Ramsy cooking shows. Whenever plugging in video game systems, the tv remembers it. Not to mention the set of apps and a app store.
My only complaint is that the brightness max isn’t super bright but other then that this tv is a good deal and I am glad I got a samsung instead of Roku. Thanks BestBuy!!!
Oct 09, 2020 16:30I have had this TV for a month now, and had no issues with it! The sound quality is amazing, the 4K picture is amazing with it’s seemless border design. The brightness is sometimes too bright, especially at night, but still a good TV. It has Apple Music, so I can play music without a sound bar, and many other apps. I had 0 issues with it so far, and It is a 9.3/10 for me. It is definitely worth the purchase and your money,
Sep 26, 2021 10:29This TV is worth every penny. I use it in my home office and it has the Apple TV built in so I don't have to buy an extra device to hang on my wall. It has simple TV, netflix, youtube, apple tv, and internet options too. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a smallish tv.
Aug 10, 2020 09:09I’ve had 2 instances with the remote becoming “un-paired” to the tv and called Samsung help desk to help with the problem and another time it was a cable provider issue...other than that, it’s a great tv...very happy with my choice.
May 22, 2020 19:14If you're thinking of buying this TV because the price makes it seem like a good deal, I'd personally recommend you go with a different brand such as TCL or Vizio. Whatever "better picture quality" you think you're getting with this TV, is not worth the HORRIBLE user experience.
Now, I don't mean the UI, that's fine, fairly simple to use. But it is just TOO SLOW. Sometimes the TV will take a few seconds to recognize remote input and I'll end up opening or clicking on something I didn't mean to. It's supposed to have the new "Crystal" processor, but that's there for picture quality, not speed.
There's also been a few occasions when the I've pressed the ON button, and the TV wouldn't respond. And just when I'm about to freak out because it's not working, it suddenly decides to turn on.
Also, there's the random flickering. Yes, RANDOM FLICKERING on the screen while I'm watching content. And I either wait it out, or turn it off and on again for it to go away.
The picture quality is good with some fine tuning, but the fact that you can get a TV with better brightness and actual local dimming for roughly the same price, makes this not a very smart purchase.
I will say, the one thing I did like (and the reason for 2 instead of 1 star) is the speakers. It actually has good sounding speakers for the size.
I know I may seem harsh with this rating and review. But when you're purchasing a product from a company like Samsung, even one of their cheaper offerings, you expect better.
I'm sure I'll get some comment saying I need to update it, but according to the TV, it is up-to-date. So who knows.
In this case, the cons outweigh the pros. I will be replacing this product soon, I hope. No point in dealing with it.
Jun 10, 2020 03:17The picture on a Samsung is unrivaled. Deep blacks, bright whites and vibrant colours. Great sound for average size rooms, never have to go over 10. (May need sound bar for more open spaces, have sound bar on the 75" in living room.)
My household is all Samsung and this television went into my daughter's playroom. All that is needed were the streaming services. The remote is easy enough for her to use but the Alexa integration is also great. (Eight year olds are not known for turn off anything, so being able to do that with voice or on a schedule is great.)
Sep 25, 2021 10:36I purchased this tv about a month ago and was happy when it arrived. Setup was easy, sound and picture is great, and it's the perfect size for my family. My daily issue with this tv since the first day we used it until today is the internet connection. Literally everyday, a few times each day it loses connection for as much as 5-10 minutes. I can't make it through a movie without the tv disconnecting from the internet. Ridiculous! After continuously trying to reconnect through network settings, it has to eventually be turned off, unplugged for 1-2 minutes, and unplug my router. Nerve racking! This is the only Samsung product I'm completely disappointed with.
Jul 14, 2020 10:37Arrived ontime and in excellent condtion.
Takes two people to unbox and lift onto tv stand. I was able set up tv with built in instruction and hook upother electronic equipment without any problems. Switcing contols to cable remote was a little tricky.
Television is right size for me and my room. Picture is clear and colors vibrant. Have used and enjoyed the Smart tv set up. Switcing apps very easy.

Every year that goes by is another year where televisions have more and more in common with tablets, smart phones, and other computational devices. With that comes a newer set of features that we never had to give attention to when it comes to television sets. Issues such as online connectivity, screen freezes, UI, and App stores all play a significant role in deciding what smart TV to commit to, the two later ones come into play on this set.
First off, the image quality on this set is great. Color reproduction and fidelity ring true. Sports, gaming, streaming, as well as through the antenna viewing quality are are all superb. Viewing angle distortion is a total non-issue on this TV and it comes with more than a decent amount of options for image tweaking. visual auto settings and enhancements such as Active Full Array, Motion Control, and Super Resolution put the 'smart' in smart TV. When it comes to visuals, this is a very capable set.
Which brings me to a feature that I never knew were important until I used a smart TV with horrible one, UI, software, operating system. My old smart TV was plum dumb. It took a good 10-15 seconds to even connect to the internet. And i'm not taking a moderately fast count either. I'm taking full on, scientific, pro bull riding seconds. When it finally connected online the UI was sluggish and prone to freezing. Not great for any viewer, especially those wanting to quickly catch the last few moments of a sports game or news telecast.
I'm very pleased to write that this set suffers from none of that. It's very quick to connect and the UI is very responsive to remote inputs. The only downside?
There is no way to download any other Apps to the TV. While they do have the heavy hitters such as Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+, if you are a cord cutter you better be subscribed to YoutubeTV or FUBO otherwise you are out of luck. There are workarounds such as using a steaming device from the HDMI port or casting it from another device such as a phone or tablet. I, being a SlingTV user had to cast it from my smartphone to the TV in order to watch live TV. Its a bit disappointing and not too future proof to not have the ability to download Apps.
And while the UI is zippy, it does bombard you with just a massive amount of ads and shows from apps you may not be wanting to use. I would say around 4/5ths of the home screen is ads. With a small row of app icons that you can customize the order of.
So in the end while this model does offer superior image quality, the take it or leave it UI may turn off some that aren't willing to deal with additional streaming devices or casting workarounds.
Sep 15, 2021 21:05I’ve had so far experienced the Vizio brand a few times; I had one previously but exchanged for a different brand.
But regarding this model here, it’s sharp with the 4k resolution and is HDR and Dolby vision compatible ; HDR gaming on the PS5 and Dolby vision on the Apple TV.
As I was first getting into noticing high definition televisions and such terminology such as frame rate and motion technologies and what have you, I still have much to learn and process. I happened to think that all or most TVs have that soap opera effect when watching movies or series that has a 24-30 default movie type frame rate. But I guess I was wrong as I’ve discovered the website of RTINGS.com that gives just about every ratings from video professionals and has a rating score. But I won’t go into detail in that in regards of this model.
This tv doesn’t have that soap opera effect I may still need to do some to tinkering to do but I confirmed later after researching this M series, there’s definitely isn’t that option (or in technical terms there’s no motion interpolation and I’ll miss that feature.
The “clear action 360” as found on the specs on the Best Buy page, well it doesn’t specify in detail of what it is but some may assume that it’s going to be having that soap opera effect anyway.
When I turn on clear action, in my eyes and interpretation the picture just dims; that’s it - but I’m tinkering with it on Dolby vision with my Apple TV watching movies. Then forums, however says it should be turned off (clear action is pure cinema effect like if you’re in the theater, which I then realized when turning off the lights, and that’s cool), and that you’d have to “reduce judder”, that is if I can find a menu option (still exploring in the menus).
Video gaming wise - it doesn’t matter as some games runs 60fps anyhow and I don’t think the soap opera effect benefits when your gaming sometimes (playing COD and there’s stutter or glitching/ghosting of the crosshairs).
Asides from all that; build and quality is premium especially the stand. All the ports are on the sides and the power cable is on the back but the plug port is vertical that horizontal - and requires patience as it was HARD to plug in flush.
But this would be an ideal wall mount tv no problem! And possibly almost flush against the wall .. or just half and inch clearance. The ports are on the right side so if you have like a cable box to the left, either longer cable or you’ll have to do some rearranging.
Overall good tv - Im going to continue tinkering with the settings more.
Aug 30, 2021 18:30I was debating between the 50" VIZIO M-Series QLED and the comparable Samsung QLED. I eventually went with the VIZIO because I had no problems with my previous smaller HD VIZIO TV over the last 8 years, the VIZIO was rated better for gaming, and the slightly lower price tag.
It took me multiple weeks of constant obsessive tinkering to get the picture settings where I wanted them to be. The video looks great now on my custom setting (apart from surprisingly poor viewing angles), and the sound is nice and loud. Watching a 4K Blu Ray via my Xbox One X is a very good experience. I have grown to really enjoy and appreciate the set.
Unfortunately, the TV will often default to other picture settings when rebooted, when switching between inputs, or sometimes when leaving apps and I have to manually switch it back to my custom setting. Also, the audio goes out of sync with the video at least once per day, forcing me to reboot the TV. At times, I have to unplug and re-plug the HDMI cable for the TV to detect my Xbox after such a reboot. Maybe some of these quirks can be addressed in a future firmware update (I hope).
If I had to do it over again, I might have gone with the Samsung to avoid some of these annoyances. Sometimes you want a piece of technology that "just works."
Oct 25, 2021 10:53I bought this TV to pair with my PlayStation 5, and so far I've been blown away! The 4K resolution and HDR 10 support are phenomenal. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this TV to anyone looking to improve their gaming experience!
Oct 02, 2021 19:30I know what you're thinking. It's technology of course it's real. But seeing a TV running in the store is not the same as seeing it at home without all the lights on. Qled boasts a billion colors, this of course would make anyone skeptical. But after actually watching TV and Xbox games on this screen I'm a believer. The setup was glitching on connecting to the remote, I actually ended up in a gray screen with no options. Cold restart, unplug it. Came back into the same screen where I was trying to connect to the remote and it finally did work. I would suggest walking away while it tries to connect to the remote. I didn't give it enough time.
Finally overall satisfaction is very high. I spent more than I normally would on a TV. My last TV was a $300 job, I killed it with day in and day out use for over a year. I hope this one last much longer, that would be the real test. I'll check back in a year and let you know. Recommended for now. This is my third vizio. My first one still works, because I didn't ride it as hard as I did the second one. And even though it died. I still like this brand.
Aug 31, 2021 09:40We love this tv. We bought a vizio about 5 years ago and its still going strong and the Samsung we had in our room died out after 10 years so we went with another vizio. The color is vibrant and sound it great. The remote is easy to use . We love this tv wpuld purchase again
Nov 15, 2021 15:54Very good, clear picture at a good price. However, ended up returning for two reasons: 1. We decided we wanted something bigger (Ended up getting up getting 65" Vizio MQ6. Very happy with that purchase). 2. Didn't have the input/output options we were expecting (I guess I didn't do my research as well as I thought I did). We wanted a TV with Component Cable connection option to hook up to the rest of our slightly older A/V equipment (didn't want to have to replace the rest of our A/V equipment or buy additional adapters).
Oct 25, 2021 08:45Great looking picture, sound is good. Quality unit. However it’s advertised as having Bluetooth and that’s not entirely accurate. There is no Bluetooth functioning in the menu to pair up a speaker or headphones. It’s Bluetooth functions are singularly tasked for pairing a mobile device to screen cast/mirror video. Easily rectified with an external device, as it has dual audio outputs, but disappointing to be described as a Bluetooth capable unit.
Oct 14, 2021 08:22Elevate movies and sports with NanoCell. Color your world with a lifelike picture, enriched with a billion rich colors*. It's an experience furthered by connected home features and LG's advanced processor.
The image is very crisp. The colors pop without being unrealistic and the black levels in real time viewing are very inky and good. The game optimizer with some adjustments works pretty well. As far as colors and sharpness goes, this TV performs as well as my Sony X950H. For the price it’s probably the best TV you can get in the 400$ range.
Jun 09, 2021 09:35This TV offers everything we hoped for, except for HD. It's not that the TV can't carry HD! No, we found out that to get HD, we need to pay Comcast for a subscription, a new set-top box, and a $10 technology fee. Our old TV quit working in early August. Cami at Best Buy was very helpful as we looked for a new TV. The Geeksquad was excellent helping us with installation. My only disappointment is with Comcast.
Sep 04, 2021 16:23I purchased my TV from Best Buy because I wanted someone to take away the heavy old plasma TV and also set up my new one. It went smoothly and just as expected. It was very convenient, the technician was helpful, set up all my apps and showed me how to access everything. I would definitely recommend the service if you don't know or don't have time to do all this yourself.
Sep 10, 2021 15:47This was a great choice as a kitchen/breakfast nook TV. The picture is better than most at this size, but the sound leaves a little to be desired. We have bluetooth external speakers, but the pairing drops every time we turn the TV off. Other than that, we are pleased with the performance.
Oct 29, 2021 16:54We seldom watch TV but when we do, we like to enjoy our experience. And this what this TV brings to us. The screen is very impressive for viewing. It’s just perfect for the size of our master’s bedroom.
It comes with a lot of free channels as well. I can watch bloomberg now for updates with stocks!
Sep 24, 2021 18:45I realize there are a lot of TV brands out there but the reality is, only a few are top notch quality. The LG nano cell is one of them. This is actually my second nano cell purchase. I prefer them even over an OLED. Great picture and sound quality as well as plenty of app and smart tv options. Did I mention minimal edge lighting which seems to be a big complaint with non OLED screens. Take the time to go through the advanced display settings to customize the best picture for you. Personally I prefer the “De-judder” setting at 10 but that’s just me :)
Nov 04, 2021 12:54Great customer service very easy curbside pick up received it the next day and fits well in my living room this is the second one I bought the nano cell is a good TV definitely got everything it said that it is possibly maybe getting a third one for a bedroom and I highly recommend the LG nano
Oct 01, 2021 16:37This is a replacement for a 40-inch television. So far, the television is providing an amazing experience. Using the various settings, the picture and sound can meet one's particular preferences. My wife and I recommend this television to others.

I wish these tv had finding tc other wise it’s a great tv .
Jul 23, 2021 19:11Excellent! It Also Updated with My 27” V Smart Tv:) seamless and converts nicely! Perfect size! Love the placement application! I was able to see it fit on my new TV console :) I also use it as another screen and I can edit videos nicely with this option from my desktop & laptop & tablet & phone & DSL Camera & I can go on :)
Aug 04, 2021 10:00Love love love this TV. The casting feature is wonderful. That’s actually the reason why I got this TV. This is second Vizio. I purchase this one for my bedroom. The picture quality is Awesome. Trust me you will love this TV. A MUST BUY!!!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Aug 20, 2021 17:12I puchased this TV specifically for the Smartcast feature which works perfectly for sending YouTube from the PC, cell phone or tablet to the TV. This is important to me because my daughter is disabled and uses a PC with adaptive technology. Since she is unable to control a TV she can send / watch YouTube & PlutoTV from her laptop and control the TV using Smartcast. She loves it!
Oct 15, 2021 16:07Overall really a fan of this TV. This is the 3rd one. Had an older version (2017 model) lost In an apt fire and finally. But since the day I lost the first, I immediately knew the brand I was buying to replace it
Gotta say the smaller sized TV don’t work as well though. They seem to be way slower across the board on a lot of things and don’t function as well. I’m assuming because they’re smaller physically and cost way less they have slower processors, etc.
I might look to another brand for snail size TVs but will always stick to VIZIO for standard sizes.
Aug 24, 2021 01:40it works well with all i use, especially when playing skyrim its given it a better crystal clear look, its turned some tv shows i grew up watching have a high def look, its gaming processor works really good, the only thing i wish this series version could do is connect to my bluetooth device, but overall its an amzing tv, especially perfect for a gamer.
Aug 21, 2021 09:55Using this as a monitor for my gaming computer and it's awesome. Love the quality of the picture and the sound.
Nov 05, 2021 19:44Purchase was painless. Best Buy sales associate was knowledgeable and kind, and he went to check in the back to see if TV was available. And he found it. TV isn't the best. Fine for now. Needed for a smaller space. Limited choices in size 43". Should have got the Samsung.
Jul 23, 2021 16:15Step up to the infinite possibilities of streaming 4K in award winning Quantum Color that offers up to 75% more color than standard 4K TVs for a more nuanced, more immersive range of colors that brings everything you watch to life. UltraBright™ 600 and Dolby Vision high dynamic range bring the image to thrilling new life, combined with the Active Full Array® backlight to enhance contrast and deepen black levels. The lightning-fast IQ Active™ processor boosts overall performance while the ProGaming Engine™ with Auto Game Mode and AMD FreeSync provides fluid, artifact-free gaming performance when gaming1. And VIZIO SmartCast™ is now smarter than ever, letting you stream, control and share like never before, with Apple AirPlay 2 and Chromecast built-in in Dolby Vision and HDR10+ for a best in class 4K streaming experience. 1Color defined as the color volume measured using Dolby's MDC spec that factors the range of colors and luminance levels; standard 4K HDR TV features rec 709 color, up to 300 nits 2AMD FreeSync, VRR and auto low latency mode only compatible with Xbox One X
Do not recommend purchasing this set. I used to sell TVs (@BBY) and I would feel awful for recommending this set to a customer. There are SO MANY software issues with this set. Random distortion, pixelation, SmartCast (vizio’s smart app interface) simply does not load half of the time and even with doing power cycling, TV resets, etc this does not change.
I have reached out to Vizio “support” and all that has been offered to me is power cycling and factory resets. Both of which I have done and neither has helped.
I am beyond bummed about this purchase. Do not let the $700 price point combined with FreeSync, VRR and ALLM fool you; this set is still a Vizio. Vizio has not changed much in the past 10 years I see and if anything this purchase reminded me why I have avoided them so much in the past. Spend the additional $300 and get a Sony and you will endlessly happier about the purchase.
Please don’t make the mistake that I did with buying this set, buy a different brand than Vizio.
Sep 01, 2021 08:19Initially our reaction to picture quality was total disappointment, but we ordered an updated cable box with hdmi cables and it made a total difference!! I was ready to exchange it for a Samsung that was double the price.... just to get QLED on a 65” tv.
I’m so glad we waited on the new cable box!!
Very pleased with this tv!! 65” Qled tv with full array backlight for $600........ outstanding!!
Jan 10, 2021 08:59>> Summary
We were looking for an upgrade to our main old 55” 4K TV set with something bigger but not too big. This TV feels like the right upgrade size-wise while still providing a remarkable image once you adjust it with the proper settings.
Favorable: Big screen, 4K, wide range of colors, decent number/selection of inputs, easy menu options to choose from, easy access to a myriad of free/unlimited streaming channels in one place. (5 stars for this)
Not-so-favorable: The only issue I see is that, without doing image adjustment, the image comes out as a little washed out, even in actual 4k video. (4 stars for this).
>> Unpacking (two people needed)
This unit is heavy, so if you do not want to risk dropping it on the floor and/or damaging it (or harming yourself), you do need a helping hand to lift the box, unpack it, attach the legs and place it at the intended area.
For attaching the legs, it is best to follow the instructions to lay the TV on a flat surface that leaves space to attach the legs (without removing the screen protecting padding it came with). We have a two-level floor, so we went by laying the TV on the top section of the floor and then attaching the legs above the bottom section of the floor. To be repetitive, we were two people doing that and even then, we were very cautions in not damaging the TV.
>> Setup
Make sure you measure your entertainment center or furniture to make sure it fits in/on it, take into consideration that the legs on the TV adds about 2” to its height and that the legs rest almost at the end of the sides of the TV (so a very wide top area is needed for this TV, unless you plan on placing it on the wall). Our TV furniture has an area at the center for the TV, and it ended up coming short by 1”, it currently holds a 55” 4k TV fine, but cannot hold this one. I’ll need to buy a TV stand to try to close the 2” gap, or a new furniture for this TV. I don’t plan to place it on the wall, it is just too heavy and my house walls have several decades on them already.
Easy and painless setup, no major hurdles going through the setup menu, so not much to say, enter your WiFi (or connect your network cable to your router/switch) and ready to enjoy your favorite videos/channels.
>> Image/Color
The Vizio M-Series Quantum is advertised as having more colors than “regular” 4k TVs, this looks to be true when compared with my old 55” 4K TV, but with one caveat, without any adjustments, the image comes out as a little washed out, even in 4K and Dolby-Vision. This image washed-out is noticeable when compared to my other 55” 4K Toshiba TV (see one of the images comparing the two). As a result, I am not really sold on the claim that the Vizio Quantum TV has vibrant colors out of the box. In order to get vivid and vibrant colors one has to tinker with the image options for some time (I am not an image expert, so it was, and it is, a trial-and-error effort).
HD/1080 Video: I can tell that there is some upscaling when playing in HD format, there seems to be some micro pixelation when I get very close to the TV. We tried sitting close (but not to close) to the TV, initially the bigger “pixels” are distracting, it took us a couple of days for our brains to adjust to it, so this is one more justification to respect the proper distance to the TV.
Ambient Light Sensor: It makes a difference for situations where you do not want any lights when watching TV. The brightness is a more bearable with that setting on when watching TV in the dark (I prefer having ambient lights while my wife prefers a dark room).
Backlight: really nice to have this option, I find it useful specially to get rid of some of that washed-out feeling off the image.
Picture Mode: Picture Mode suggested is always "Calibrated". Sometimes, especially for HD cable TV, I find that "Vivid" mode is the best one (combined with some other adjustments). Calibrated mode seems to work better for Netflix. It is nice to have this option though.
Color Temperature: easy three modes for some predefined settings, whether you want more vivid color or darker color. Very convenient.
>> Sound
I didn’t expect much about the sound to be a major selling point, since I will most likely use a good sound system on such good quality TV, but it is worth paying attention to it to assess the overall quality of the product. A bad sounding device would shine-me-away from buying it. I am actually pleased and so is my wife with the sound quality. Sound is enough to fill a big room, but you’d know that the sound is coming from the TV, not from your sound system. Bottom line, to give this TV its proper credit attach it to a good sound system.
>> Connectivity
Plenty of connections, 4HDMI, antenna, among others. Cable TV runs from the box through and HDMI cable to the TV, no complaints so far.
TV Antenna: I have an HD TV antenna which I do not really use, I decided to give it a try with this TV. I’d say that the image quality is very good for the couple of non-telemarketing HD Channels available on open air TV; standard format is fine despite the size of the TV, just some pixelation (expected). The best of trying the TV antenna, though, was that we got one Latino channel (Telemundo) we like for free, so we didn’t need to put extra money on the coffers of our cable provider for that channel. There is also free Latino programming on Vizio’s WatchFree (there is plenty to watch in WatchFree!).
Miracast: Used Microsoft’s Miracast to connect to the TV through HDMI, nice quality! See picture attached.
>> Apps
Well the main app we use is NetFlix, we are just impressed about the quality the picture comes out, well of course some image adjustment needed, so far very content with the performance of this TV. Wireless works like a charm and we can watch our favorite Netflix movies and shows. This is the first time I heard about Dolby-Vision content, and quite impressed that Netflix provides such content and this TV supports it. Only complaint is that with Dolby-Vision, the backlight option is not available.
>> WatchFree!
Amazing the variety of programming you can watch here! This is just worth the whole TV price! Mixed variety of SD and HD definitions for the most part, but excellent programming nonetheless. I wouldn’t mind watching a good history program in SD definition. I am delighted with this.
>> Not-tested
There are several things not tested thoroughly or not tested at all, such as gaming, I would need more pages and time to provide that. My focus was the size and image quality for my intended main TV.
Aug 15, 2020 15:51Great Tv. Purchased to Play the new generation of gaming consoles and it doesn't disappoint! Always haave loved the vizo brand. Has never given me any trouble and is always a great product.
Jul 26, 2021 07:06Awesome TV the quality is exceptional and easy to operate
Dec 11, 2020 16:35We are very happy with our new t.v . Glad that we picked out Vizio its our second 1 the first one lasted 5 years
Nov 20, 2020 16:17Had high hopes, although initial build quality left a lot to be desired. First power up the backlight wouldn't turn on. A full power cycle the backlight came on. During the first inspection found one stuck pixel towards the center of the screen, then looked to the right and found what looked like a smashed bug between the layers of the LCD. Not really impressed and decided to return and look at a different model.
Feb 01, 2021 20:40Pretty good 4K quality.
I purchased this 2 months ago and now I’m internet features won’t work. Keeps giving me “no internet connection” when it is connected successfully to my wifi network. It used to work, but it stopped working after 3 weeks.
Also, when viewing content in HDR, pinkish red color is highly over saturated and exposed. It can’t be fixed.
If my return window was open, I’d return it.

Forth TV I bought from Best Buy in 2wks and it was finally the Vizio was Exactly what I was looking for!
Wanted to send under $800
1st bought a Samsung 6 series for $529 Horrible Tv
2nd Lg UN7070 the same took it back
3rd was a Sharp that I was replacing to being with took it back the next day
The Vizio M7 Series Amazing
Best TV under $800 don’t do what I did ,buy the Vizio !
Nov 22, 2020 20:56Better than the V series that’s for sure. Not much of a Picture difference but you can tell. Same TV parts , same Remote and TV border just for lighting zones but really does make a difference.
Dec 16, 2020 00:18I love this tv I grabbed it when it first came out it took me till now to get my xbox but I got it finally and now I could say I do get 120 hz at 1080p 60 hz at 4k hdr I am very happy I was a little worried about it saying 60 hz but everything worked out picture quality with movies is awesome I have a dolby atmos sound bar with the tv it looks and sounds great I would definitely recommend this to everyone
Dec 25, 2020 21:58Absolutely love this Tv it was a wonderful addition to my home... This is my 3rd Vizio. Really don't need to say anymore than that!
Jan 15, 2021 16:34This is just a great looking tv. I got it yesterday, spent a bit of time calibrating it (I still have a Disney WOW disc that I use w/ the Blue gel) and honestly it looks killer. Picture quality out of the box was fairly accurate, so didn't take much.
People on every site keep whinging about dimming zones and whatnot, stop reading too much into it. It's got even brightness, the blacks are black, the whites are white, the colors are vibrant.
Note: I don't use the interface. I don't use the speakers. I have an NVIDIA shield TV running into an AV receiver that handles all of my upscaling and apps, so it's basically a dumb monitor for me. For $650 you can't beat the price. If you don't like the interface and it's slow just get a roku, chromecast, fire stick, or SHIELD and don't worry about it.
Nov 25, 2020 18:53I order the television for my great room. Vizio did not disappoint.
Feb 08, 2021 22:27I Love the Tv, But its the Geek Squd installation I'm not happy with. Mounted my TV and its leaning and i paid $200
Nov 06, 2021 14:17Nice quality, very bright. Tv looks sleek. Do yourself a favor and get a sound bar dont even waste your time on the stock speakers

Well... it's a TV.
At 55", it's big. Bigger than I was ready for, coming from a 42-inch model from the mid 2010s. From what I've read it's a little thicker and a little heavier than other options, but I'm not bothered by that. It comes with legs that install easily and keep it pretty steady, but I'm not particularly interested in that, because I bought a table-mounted stand that lifts the screen up off the surface of the shelving unit I use as a TV stand, which allowed me to place my turntable and receiver on the tabletop under the screen (side note: this TV uses a 300 x 200 VESA pattern for its mounting screws, so if you're thinking of mounting this TV on a pole, make sure your choice as that option).
The picture is quite nice, for the most part. I had to play around with settings for a good while before I found the right one. I ended up using a custom setting and strangely had to reduce the amount of red in the picture because it was glaringly bright compared to other colors. Once calibrated, 4K and 4K HDR video looks very nice, indeed, and I had no problems with motion smoothing making movies look like cheap TV shows. The brightness is very good, even in my living room, which gets lots of natural light during the day.
One nice feature from a display standpoint is the TV automatically detects the type of source that's coming through, even when that source is passed through. I use an Onkyo TX-8270 stereo HDMI receiver, and hook my Blu-ray player, HD cable box, Roku, and Nintendo Switch through it. When switching between inputs, the TV auto-detects game sources and HDR sources and turns on the appropriate profile, which is a very nice.
One function that's been working fairly well is the auto switching of sources. Pressing the "home" button on my Roku remote changes the input to Roku from whatever it had been. Similarly, waking up the Switch with a wireless controller changes the input to Switch. The Roku remote also allows me to control volume and power of the TV, and when the TV is connected to HDMI ARC input of the Onkyo receiver, it can be set to turn off the TV speakers and use only the receiver volume. It works fairly well, and also allows the TV to send audio from its own Smart applications.
Speaking of the smart functions of the TV, I have to say, I'm impressed. The last Vizio TV I used with smart features was built in 2015, and I was not impressed back then with the functionality. On the other hand, this TV's smart functions are pretty snappy, and the menus are laid out pretty well. I was able to set up Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu accounts to use with he streaming functions of this TV, and they all worked well, more or less.
I'm particularly impressed with Vizio's "WatchFree" service, which cobbles together some of the better online TV content, with channels that include old movies and TV shows (watching classic episodes of Unsolved Mysteries has been a treat), as well as content from creators like "People are Awesome." It's nice to just have something to turn on, and very much like free cable TV if you have an internet connection.
The one strange thing about the TV's smart functions is the remote. It doesn't come with a standard "play/pause" button, nor FF/RW buttons, meaning the user is left with the "OK" button and the circular 4-position navigation button (doing double-duty) to control the streaming functions. The remote is also without voice command functionality, meaning any navigation of the smart menus must be done manually. There are, helpfully, an array of 6 buttons at the top with shortcuts for Vudu, Netflix, Prime Video, Kumo, Hulu, and RedBox.
The final "smart" feature of the TV is its ability to be used with Amazon Alexa and Google Home. As a Google Home user, I love being able to cast directly to the TV from my phone. My mom has been recording herself reading children's books and uploading the videos to YouTube, and I love how easy it is to click on a YouTube link from a text message she sends and cast it to the TV to show the kids, or to say "hey, Google, play Paw Patrol on my TV," for example.
I should add that, as a Roku Premiere owner, I will mostly not be using the smart channels through the TV, opting instead to stick with the Roku experience. I subscribe to CBS All-Access and HBO through my Roku account, and I also prefer the Roku remote and menus, so I'll keep using it for now. It's nice to know that some day I can choose Vizio's smart functions if I need to, and I can always cast video from my phone to the TV.
The bottom line: like I said at the start, it's a TV. It's big, the screen is bright enough and looks great in HD or 4K resolutions, the smart features and remote are adequate, and it works pretty well hooked up to an HDMI receiver with a bunch of sources attached. I'm pleased, but if I were to recommend this to a friend, I would have to make sure they're ready for this specific TV based on its attributes. I wouldn't recommend it across the board unless it fits their room and their needs.
Oct 08, 2020 14:01The best value by far for a 4K UHD set that has 2.1 HDMI, the only thing it lacks is 120hz support as the panel is limited to 60hz but it literally has everything else including: HDR10, Dolby Vision, AMD Freesync/Variable Refresh Rate and Auto Low Latency. The QLED panel isn’t as nice as an LG OLED but it also costs $800 less and put the two side by side and you’d be hard pressed to spend the extra cash. Bottom line if you’ve got a PS5 or Series X/S than this tv will blow you you away for features and price.
Dec 16, 2020 14:25If you are sensitive to “Dirty Screen Effect” than you might want to look for another TV. It may not be the same for all of these TVs but the one I bought had terrible DSE and was very noticeable, especially screen panning while playing PS5 games. The 4K HDR was great but the DSE was too distracting to enjoy. Returned the TV and paid a little extra and went with the Samsung Q70T. Great decision.
Mar 26, 2021 20:05I have a love hate relationship with this TV. Not so much hate, more annoyed. First ill say that i am no tv picture setting genius and i dont know everything about setting up a tv to get it to work best. I watched a lot of reviews of this tv so i knew what i was buying.
I am a sensitive viewer to screen effects and motion blur. I like a sharp clear image. This tv delivers that for a still pictures. Motion is blurry almost to the point that i wanted to return or exchange tv because i couldnt be the only one seeing this. But i held off giving the tv more time to dial in settings. Well my 15 day return period expired and i was still messing with settings and noticing more glitches and screen freezes.
Ive settled with the tv, i paid for a mid range performer i guess thats what i got. I was just expecting a little bit more precision. The gaming on this tv is phenomonal i have to say. That is really its shining moment. If this was just a gaming tv it would be 5 stars. Ill have to pay $800-$1000 for my next tv.
Mar 15, 2021 23:08The tv speakers sound horrible and I can’t ever get airplay to actually work. It’s be nice if I could hook Bluetooth headphones directly to tv as well. I have my Xbox series x hooked to it though, and use a gaming headset, so sound hasn’t been an issue for me. Over all the tv is fine and I don’t regret buying it, I just wish I would’ve spent a little more and gotten a Samsung. It’ll work just fine for now though.
Feb 05, 2021 19:40So my first Vizio TV purchase, I was pleasantly surprised. TV seems good quality so far and picture quality is good for the price. Still have a 5 star review because I currently have a different brand tv that consistently restarts as if I unplugged the TV. So when I got this VIZIO I love how quickly it starts up even by pressing one of the app buttons on the remote it directly powers on the tv to the app I choose which is very convenient.
Sep 04, 2020 16:11My husband and I wanted a larger TV and one that had updated ports and features. We absolutely love this 55” VIZIO smart tv. I read lots of reviews and I have to agree that this was a good deal. The remote is very easy to use; concise and uncluttered. Mounting is easy if you’re looking for that, too. Video quality great. I would recommend!!
Feb 05, 2021 21:56Love this TV. It is the perfect size for the wall it's mounted on. The only thing I wish I'd be able to do is to somehow transfer all of my streaming accounts to this tv from my other Vizio.

Just bought this in a 50” model. All I can say is junk. It’s going back tomorrow. The picture quality is horrible. And you either hear the sound or not. I wouldn’t recommend a Vizio.
Sep 07, 2021 21:35We’ve had Vizio twice before and liked the televisions. This one, however, doesn’t have great color. We’ve tried adjusting everything that can be adjusted, and it still is not “true” color and looks “cloudy”. Also, the sound is often out of sync with the lips, and we have to turn off the tv and start over.
Nov 19, 2021 19:43It’s a good TV picture and color quality is great. It is a smart TV and it has Ton of streaming apps and is very easy to use and navigate through that’s exactly what I needed for my in-laws who aren’t great with having multiple devices connected to the TV and having to use different controls. So this Tv was perfect for them. Also speakers are great gets loud.
Nov 01, 2021 13:02Great picture for the price. Was considering an OLED, but didn't want to spend the money for the location of this TV. Extremely happy with the purchase. I had to adjust the color and contrast because every person was pale and colorless when I first turned it on. The sound is good/adequate, but we always planned to add a sound bar.
Nov 06, 2021 08:05The Vizio 50" M Class TV is great. Good clarity sound is excellent and it works like a charm. We have purchased Vizio TV's for years and they never disappoint.
Nov 12, 2021 16:12Great pic and sound. Able to stream all of my apps.
Oct 29, 2021 19:00This tv is terrible. The picture is average and everything else about it is horrible. Last night, I couldn’t get it to turn off. Seriously. No combination of remotes would work, neither would the button on the tv itself, so I had to unplug it. When I turn this tv on, it takes a few minutes to “warm up” before it will respond to any remotes. Also, it shuffles randomly between inputs without me pushing any buttons (ie, I’ll be watching HDMI1 [cable] and it will shift to HDMI2 [FireStick] by itself). Lastly, the picture drops ALL THE TIME and I get an “HDR10” box pop up in the corner of the screen. I have never had a worse experience with a television, and this thing is only like 2 months old and I’m already considering e-wasting it and buying a new tv since I can’t return it and I’m not going to flip this to someone else for any small amount of money knowing how poorly it has performed. My experience has been that bad. This is my first Vizio product and I purchased it before there were any reviews thinking I could count on Vizio to put out a good product based on their track record but I am beside myself with this thing.
Nov 13, 2021 08:59Love love love this tv defiantly worth getting especially if you have a Nintendo switch the quality is great!
