    Spectacular

These are the first open back headphones that I’ve ever owned, and boy have I been missing out.

Sound is very detailed and intimate, while providing just the right amount of bass for my preferences to make it an all around fun experience. I listen to quite a bit of metalcore, and these things handle every track I’ve thrown at them flawlessly.

As for the build, they seem to be very well built. The metal hinges for the ear cups seem nice and sturdy, while allowing for fluid movement when pivoting the ear cup. There’s honestly not much that I can quickly identify as “cheap plastic”, which is a big plus.

Now for the fit. The head band seems to be the perfect mix of soft and firm, to a point where I haven’t noticed it on top of my head for the 4 straight hours I’ve had them on. So far are the only things I’d change are the pads, as I could personally use a little more room for my ears (usually my biggest issue when looking for headphones) however I have not experienced any ear fatigue during these 4 hours. Clamp force is a big win for me here, as there’s just the right amount to keep them on my head without any pain (with glasses too).

Overall, I’m definitely a huge fan of these, and would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a quality open back headset!

    Found my end game

After much hemming & hawing for years, I finally pulled the trigger and bought the Sennhesier HD800s. I am not disappointed at all! Beautiful detail and widely subtle soundstage. At first listen, It didn't sound too much different from my HD600. But after auditioning them for a few weeks (thanks to Best Buy's generous return policy) These are going to be my 'end game' headphones. Depending on your personal listening musical tastes, it really doesn't need EQing. I use a moderate bass increase, and top off the 6k treble range, and it's is about perfect now. And these sound really awesome with movies and TV shows! Imho, definitely worth the investment.

    Audio done right.

I've listened to many headphones in my time, (bose, akg, audio-technica, audeze & hifi planars, b&w, etc.), if you're looking for the ultimate listening experience with dynamic headphones, then this is your final stop. Let's start with the massive 56mm drivers, they are the largest drivers currently used in dynamic headphones, providing you with excellent sound quality. The design behind these headphones are specific to improve your listening experience. They feel like quality in your hands, almost like you can drop them without being worried ( not that I would recommend dropping them ). The detail in audio is on point and you'll hear sounds you haven't heard before in the songs you enjoy. Vocals are clean and beautiful, bass is spot on, everything is nice and balanced. Pair these with a DAC, solid state amp, or tube amp, and your listening experience will go through the roof.

Comfort is something people are always concerned about, nobody wants to have their ears hurting or sweaty after hours of use, I can safely say that these conform to just about any head size, and with hours of use you will not feel any discomfort or sweat. The band is comfortable and adjusting them is smooth, oh so smooth.

Is it worth the $1,700 or so that you will be paying?

If you enjoy listening to music, then absolutely.

I've let my friends use them and they aren't audiophiles, but they understand and wish they could own a pair.

These headphones are no joke (300ohm impedance, yum!) and require a good AMP and DAC to get the best out of them. You can run them with an adapter on your PC, but you will be missing out on their true potential.

best dynamic drive headphone in the world

Ultra high quality bass, extremely fast and punchy. Very large sound stage, everything sounds big/wide and epic. I have never heard imaging so precise. Best headphone you can buy under $4,000. Keep in mind, if you don't have a world class dad/amp and a high quality source. Those headphone will bring out every flaws in the recordings, its like watching VHS on a TOTL 4k OLED.

    Extremely comfortable, and sound wonderful!

These cans are not neutral, at all. But are actually very warm and fun to listen to all kinds of music. More bass(very clean, but definitely there). Although they have a v-shaped sound signature, the mids are fully present, and the highs crisp. The bass is better than my DT-770s, IMO, anyway. I also have the R70x's, and those also sound incredible, but have a totally neutral, clean sound. While they make great reference cans, while these just sound great, and will make any music/movies sound great! Although they have almost non existent clamping force, and they tend to slide down my head until the top of my ear keeps them in place, with no discomfort, even after a full 8 hours without taking them off. I have fallen asleep, and woke up to them still on my head. But those with smaller heads/ears might want to make sure they will stay put, and not slide off. As the "3-d wings" are the only thing that is supposed to keep them in place, but there is no way to tighten the headphones, at all. I would definitely recommend them, especially for the price. The cable is great, just wish it was detachable..

An excellent product for an exceptional price. These headphone are comfortable for hours on end. The cable is not removable, but its the kind of cable that would never be expected to break or wear out. The adapter for the jack screws in and the length of the cable is perfect for any jam session. Truly a blessed pair of headphones.

I put some Brainwavz earpads on and they are incredibly comfortable and sound so much better now. They've gone from the bottom of my pile to top 3.

    +Bass +Noise Cancellation +Soundsport compatible

Compared to my 3 year old wired soundsport with one ear working (which still sounds pretty good imo) the bass on the QC20s is much higher. There’s not too much sound leakage so I can listen louder without worrying about people hearing my earbuds leak. The noise cancellation is great even when I’m using my old soundsport wingtips (which are compatible with these) that don’t directly clog up your ear canal like everything else. It’s definitely an upgrade or my old ones just deteriorated, because on the QC20s I can hear parts of the music that I can’t hear on my soundsports. The cord on the QC20 is a bit thicker than the Soundsports except for the small cord that connects the power source to the aux. That part kinda scares me so I’ll treat it with care. Probably not my preference to have the little brick thing lugging around but it’s what makes these earbuds sound like headphones. You can opt to use the earbuds with the brick thing turned off but it’ll just sound like cheap earbuds. Overall though, great upgrade and probably the best currently made wired earbuds for me, especially since I can use my old wingtips on them.

    Good sound

This head phones have a good sound quality, but it is much better at noise cancelling

Although I would make some changes and make it more rugged and the connections at the components somehow stronger because they are the weak points to this headphones.

And they create sound failures and breakage and ripping points.

    Amazing

These things are amazing. Expensive. But amazing. So far, I've used them on two long haul overseas flights and a handful of commuter train rides. It's really almost spooky when you put them in and then flip on the switch. When I first did this I kept flipping the power on and off to just be blown away by the difference.

As advertised, they don't cut out everything from the outside. There are some frequencies - I suppose - that just don't get wholly blocked. Still, this is one of those things I wished I'd just bitten the bullet and gotten long ago. I like the corded option for this as opposed to the wireless for no other reason then you need the plug for use on airlines. If it was just being used on my various iStuff, I'd probably have opted for the wireless.

My only concerns about this thing are as follows:

    * I'd seen reviews - which I can understand - that are concerned about longevity of the cord connection. There's no real way I can judge this yet, but it does seem a bit odd how close the battery/control portion is to the plug. When it's plugged into a device, it potentially hangs in a way that causes pressure to the plug and I can see where over time, this could cause wear or a cord break. Similarly, when plugged in to an airliner headset jack, it hangs down a bit. There may have been little other choice as if it was higher up it would maybe pull on the ear pieces, but it's something to take care with. Still, I'm giving 5 stars because those are just concerns to treat this thing with a little bit of care, but it totally gets the job done.

    * The earbuds do take getting used to. Due to the design - which does work very well for keeping them in - you do have to get used to which way to put them in. (As opposed to simple round ear buds.) But I'm getting used to that and in the end, they're better in that they stay put better than others. It's just something to get used to is all.

Motorcycle wind noise, what motorcycle wind noise?

I bought these primarily to use on a motorcycle to help reduce wind noise. I just finished my first test ride (about 10 minutes at 70 mph). Bottom line: these work scary good. I was stunned. Told my wife they turned my Suzuki into a Lexus. I started out with them on playing music at a high but comfortable volume. After a mile or so at speed I paused the music and the quiet was almost eerie. Then I. turned the power switch off to eliminate active noise cancelling and was assaulted by wind noise. I didn't appreciate how well they had been working. Switched noise cancelling back on and everything went quiet again.

Cons for motorcyclists: It is tricky getting a helmet on over them. For me it took some practice until I finally found a way to use my index fingers to hold them in place while sliding my helmet on. Once I had my helmet on they stayed in place without a problem. I wear a fairly tight full-face helmet. There was some random popping (reminded me of my ears popping on an airplane) which was mentioned in some of the reviews I read. In my opinion, small price to pay for the noise reduction offered and understandable given the conditions. Finally, cord management might or might not be an issue. I was used to bluetooth headphones and I use my phone for navigation so I'll have to find an unobtrusive way to keep cords out of the way. No biggie though.

Like I said, this was only a short, first ride. I'm looking forward to testing them on a longer trip.

Great Technology, wish they were more durable

I bought these head phones in 2016 and used them on and off over the years. The noise cancelling was phenomenal for first 3 years and so was the fit and form. Last year the cover to the noise cancelling control lost adhesion, then the insulation as the cord coming out of the plug failed and just now the adhesive holding the ear bud together just gave up. I loves the head phones and when I bought them in 2016 I paid 300dollars. For that much money i wish the adhesives would have held up. Still a good purchase and I will miss them!

    Awesome, Just Awesome!

I am a very picky person, especially when it comes to great quality sound. I usually go with Beats, I had to recently replace my UR Beats because they were no longer working. I tried the Powerbeats2 wireless and I was not happy with them at all. After talking to a Best Buy employee she recommended the Bose. I decided to give them a try and WOW these are definitely keepers. The sound is AMAZING and they are sooooooo comfortable. I mainly use them at the GYM and they block out all the noise. I get lost in my music and loose track of time while working out! Buy them you wont regret it and buy the 2year protection plan too! Anything happens to them Best Buy has the best warranties out there, they give you a new pair, no questions asked!

    Fantastic noise canceling ear buds

I have a pair of Klipsch Noise canceling headphones (over the ear). The sound is great, but i found them uncomfortable to wear for the 12 - 14 hour flights to Asia, which is the main reason I have them in the first place. The bulky size of a full over the ear noise canceling headphone is a disadvantage when trying to travel light. I was looking for a more comfortable noise canceling headphone - primarily to use for lengthy flights. Upon doing some research, I saw several comments that the Bose noise canceling ear buds were exceptional with noise canceling and extremely comfortable. I bought the Bose - QuietComfort 20i just prior to a trip to Japan. I was completely satisfied with the excellent noise canceling performance and comfort of these ear buds. I find I am actually using them on a daily basis which I was not planning on. The small size (compared to a full size over the ear noise canceling headphone) makes it easy for me to have them stashed in my computer bag and have with me at all times. In a studio environment with no ambient noise, I am sure there are several products available with exceptional sound quality at a lower price point. In the real world, the noise canceling feature of this product allows one to discern details in music at a much lower volume level than with traditional ear buds. I key benefit in my book. Not an inexpensive product, but worth the price if you a looking for excellent noise canceling in a compact comfortable package.

    Awesome Product!!

I purchased this item hoping that I would be able to listen to music while mowing the lawn without blowing my ear-drums out. This product works awesome! The lawn mower sounds like a sowing machine and doesn't even over power a soft song. In the past using in-ear headphones I had to crank the volume in order to hear over the mower; which almost melted my ear-dums. If you are looking for a Great set of earbuds that you could wear forever, this it the product for you! I can't stress enough just how much I enjoy using these earbuds.

    Most comfortable, great NC, pricey

I can wear these all day long, no irritation. The tips sit at the ear canal and don't "invade" it, yet the soft flexible silicon skirt closes the canal off for great comfort and noise isolation. Then there's the world-class noise cancellation. As I write this, I'm sitting literally 5 ft from the basement oil burner (noisy enough to have to raise you voice to be heard conversationally) and hear only a slight very low-level background hiss. As near silence as you can get. Plus, if I switch off the NC I still get quality audio like my other ear buds, only far more comfortable. The only downside is that NC does cost.

    Excellent wired earphones under $50

I recently bought a Walkman to decouple music listening from my IPhone since all those FLAC and high res music collection was pointless listening through an Iphone with Air pods Pro and also get away from constant emails and notifications. I could see a major difference when I switch over to my desktop DAC AMP setup with HD 560s, DT 770 and Philips X2s. My Sony 1000xm3 over LDAC caught up well with the wired combinations but it was too bulky. Being away from wired earphones for a while, I went through an old box which had Bose sound sports (the most comfortable earphones) , CX300 and then found an old Sony XB75 earphones . I listened to each of them with the new Walkman and I was surprised the old XB75 though had intermittent connection on left side produced some fun but not flat sound signature. So I bought this pair which looks very close the XB75 . Sony Walkman paired with XB55 is a perfect combination. Great frequency range (high res coverage) , fun sound signature with clean bass without killing the mid and highs. I would say the highs are not at the top but the overall it balances out without killing the overall feel. If you want a good pair of low impedance earphones with some extra fun bass without killing mids and highs.. this is it ! Im impressed how it drives the sound under $50 . Simply put this earphone is not for bass heads , it’s for folks who listen to music with a bit of bass to bring that fun factor to a flat signal . And I bet this will last me another 6 yrs plus if I don’t abuse it.

    Durable, stylish, and great sounding!

These are the best headphones I have ever had and the only headphones I purchase now. They are on sale and I am considering buying multiple pairs. I find the sound quality to be on par with the very expensive ear muff ones. These are my favorite headphones and I cannot recommend them enough. They also very durable.

JBL/ROCK Over ear headphones Released 8-26-2021

Wow!! These are the best headphones I have ever had in my 44 years! I got them days before the official release. The Bass is amazing, the active sound cancelation works great. I love the style, the color, the look, the feel, the buttons. I have been looking for the right over ear headphones to replace a set used for over 10 years! I looked at equivalent options from, Sony, Bose, Beats, Skull Candy, and Apple. Those are all really great companies with excellent products, and quality. None were just right for me, and my intended uses. When I came across a social media post from DJ letting everyone know these were about to be released. I was very excited! Apparently DJ and I have a similar hairstyle. Lol. I couod tell just from his picture of him wearing them, that they would fit me perfectly too! I somehow found a way to get them early! This set from JBL has blown my mind! It's hard to explain how they fit so perfectly. Like a good pair of sneakers or like some perfect fitting lifting gloves, but for your head. Trying to run or workout with over ear type headphones has always sucked. They always shift, or move, or bounce, get too sweaty, or some other irritating downsides. I can tell just by putting them on, that they won't do any of that. They are super snug, but they don't hurt like others at all. They even have a 3.5 headphone jack for those who prefer to also have the direct plug in option. Somehow JBL and The Rock have found the perfectly balanced fit!

The sound is beyond words for me. Absolutely incredible!

I'm sending a HUGE thank you to JBL, and DJ for putting in the WORK, and making this an Absolute home run of a Product!

I almost forgot to mention. They even come with a nice case, with triangular carabiner! The headphones fold to fit inside.

My advice to anyone looking at these. I didn't even try them before buying them. Buy them. You will be very happy like me.

    Finally!!

I've tried just about every mainstream headphones out there sold by bestbuy and the like. These are hands down the best and even beats some if the more expensive brands.

The volume is pretty decently loud with some seriously good bass compared to others in its class.

The fit and feel is super comfortable and I can workout in them running/weight lifting and they stay fit secured.

Battery life is true. The JBL app definitely helps get the sou d we all beg for. The Rock EQ is a nice touch too, def makes a big diff in the sound.

The case is nice and hard shelled seems very durable. Love the buttons and functionality of the headphones themselves. The right ear bull logo doubles as a functioning button as well for ANC, ambient noise, and talk thru.

Plain and simple, best headphones period.

Great over the ear headphones for everyday usage

Ok so right off the bat let me just say that before buying these headphones. I started off using over the ear noise canceling headphones with the Bose QC II then jumped years after to the SONY WH-1000XM3 and later upgraded to the WH-1000XM4 which are the kings of noise canceling and quality, but my biggest issue was that I could never use them to go to the gym or for my home workout or at least if so I'd have to buy extra covers from ebay to do so. After buying the project rock wireless over the ear headphones I can definitely say these are headphones that I'm in love with everything from durability to features to having physical buttons again, and of course the option that I can use these to do as many workouts and just wash the cushion which is detachable. Also my biggest issue with Sony's headphones were that the touch controls weren't exactly as responsive as I'd wish, with these new under armour rock headphones you have all the physical buttons oh and also almost 5-10 more of battery time which in my book is huge. The less time I have to spend charging devices the better. Also the noise canceling on these headphones yes are weaker then Sony's headphones but I actually appreciate it more due that I can actually take these with more when running or walking and can still be aware in the most minimum when cars are passing by. Apart from that all the major features are still there, pairing these to my laptop, phone etc was super easy, I can connect to two devices at once is awesome. Also they look amazing with the brama bull all over the place. I can't say enough amazing things of these headphones. They truly are amazing.

    Great Workout Headphones

These are my first pair of over-the-ear headphones and so far I have not been disappointed. I have the off white version and love how the brahma bull stands out in gold (we'll see how clean they stay over time). The cushions are soft and very comfortable. The headphones are light enough for me to run and secure enough that they don't fall off. Sound has been great however I do not consider myself as an audiophile. Connecting the headphones with my Galaxy Note 20 was easy once I downloaded the app. The app itself has not been all that great and not too user friendly. Overall the headphones do help me stay focus because they drown out a lot of background noise.

I am not easily astonished, and yet here I am, absolutely astonished at the quality of the sound cancelling ability of these headphones. On top of that, they pair effortlessly with my iPhone, and deliver incredible clarity of sound. Good layout of controls and the construction seems to be robust. Great fit and finish.

Expensive? Yes.........but it appears to be well worth the expenditure. Absolutely love these headphones.

These headphones very reliable, very durable and they last a very long time. Other headphones I had I had sat on it while it was plugged into my phone. They end of the plug for the headphones would bend not these headphones. I promise you that these headphones are 100 % worth. they have never failed and that a promise.

    Totally disappointed

I purchased 2 pair of these headphones 1 blue 1 black, within the first week I had to toggle the cord on the blue pair to get the sound to play in both headphones. By week 2 I was experiencing the same problem with the Black pair. Along with the aggravation of having to toggle on the cord to get the sound to play the bass is not what you would expect from Dre beats. I'm not sure if I just so happen to be the person that bought 2 pair that had the same problem or if this is a technical issue on this model headphones. Now the kicker is the headphones are never really comfortable in after about 1 hour they go from uncomfortable to painful. I had purchased the solo's a few years back from hh greg in I had a overall wonderful experience with those. I ordered 2 pair of Studio's earlier today so I'm hoping to have a better experience.

    Fantastic monitering headphones

If you are looking for good studio headphones these are your best option for the $, diminishing return the higher you go in $ from here. These are NOT for casual listeners however, they're designed to give a relatively flat frequency response. These are for producers, mixengineers, and others looking to monitor sound for accuracy. If you're into mixing and mastering try these in combination with Sonarworks software, you'll get the flatest sound possible. Even more I like to also use Waves NX software which gives them a simulated room sound. Try all three together and you'll be shocked at how much better your mixes start turning out!

    Best headphones I’ve ever owned

Was looking for some headphones for traveling and working near an airport (too loud to focus when there are planes flying over you all the time). These are the most comfortable, high quality headphones I’ve ever owned. My friend talked me out of purchasing some Beats and I’m so glad she did! The only negative I can think of is that wearing glasses with them gets a little uncomfortable after a few hours. So I just take breaks on days when I wear my glasses.

Nice rich sound for the price

I purchased these to replace mine 30 year old Sony digital headphones which have now develop chain buzzing in one of the headsets. These particular were highly recommended on the musician forums I belong to.

Well, they have a very rich and full sound. They deliver a very flat response with tight bass and clear highs. They fit tighter than my old sonys but than again these are new and my old sonys have been well used. If you have a large head, your ears might get fatigued after long usage. I like a tighter headphone that will not slide off my head while playing my guitars so they work for me. Having 2 included chords with sufficient length that twist and lock into the phones prevents them from pulling out accidentally. I really like these headphones and the price isn’t out of reach for most folks.

    Sounded great, until . . .

Sounded really good until they snapped in half making them unusable. This is a common problem with people who use them a lot. AT offered to fix them at my expense, though it is their problem, meaning their headphones would of cost me double. Keep looking unless you like expensive paperweights.

    Awesome. But keep breaking

I love these headphones. They're comfy for wearing for a long time and the sound is great. The only reason they don't get five stars is because the one plastic swivel for the left hearphone keeps snapping. Luckily, the first time they were under warranty and got repaired. But now, over a year later, it snapped again. Really frustrating that if you handle it even slightly wrong they are rendered useless.

    Comfortable and Great Sound

I treated myself to these amazing headphones for my birthday and did not regret purchasing.

The head band is adjustable, and comes with two long cables and an extra jack.

The cushions are soft and plush on the ears which is a plus in the cold weather. I’ve also worn them in the rain (light) and no harm done.

Speakers are great quality and use them with my iPhone 8+ (bought an adapter/converter cable separately for ten dollars).

When I play my music, I only hear that and not the noise from outside which I am happy with.

    Great Headphones For Mixing/Listening/Mastering

Honestly Ive watch tons of reviews on both the M40x and the M50x and I had to go to Sam Ash to listen to them both.

I ended up getting the M40x's and Im so glad I did. They sound incredible using them with my phone, my computer and my mixer.

Everything is balanced and crystal clear. Its like one of those things where I want to listen to all the music I love because it sounds so much better through these headphones. I have a pair of Beats Studio3 which I will give credit to because they sound really good, BUT they are tuned for high bass response and so its artificial. Even if most people don't know the difference I do because I mix, record and master a lot and I know the way the songs are supposed to sound and that's not a bad thing. Its just a pure musical sound and makes you appreciate music much more once you know your tool for listening is allowing you to hear the content the way it was mastered in the studio.

Get a pair and don't compare them to anything else you've ever listened to and try to understand their true purpose. I believe you will appreciate them, and love them... Cheers!

They both were very polite, respectful, and knowledgeable about the fridge and Best Buy practices. The refrigerator is quiet and spacious on the inside. Good performance for a low price.

I was looking for a pair of no-nonsense, easy to use headphones that would work with everything without having to install drivers or pair them with anything. I found them with this pair.

These Sony ZX headphones have excellent sound in all but the highest volume settings. When I turn the sound on my computer's Soundblaster Audigy sound card all the way up and turn the sound all the way up on my program that I'm using (such as Youtube for example), the bass gets to sounding just a little bit 'muddy' or distorted. But, if I back the sound card's volume control just a little (like back down to 90 from a maximum of 100), then they sound fantastic. I tested them out by listening to classical music like Mozart, Chopin and Williams (John Williams' movie themes) and they reproduced everything as well or better than my computer's Soundblaster brand speakers and just as well as my CD player's speakers. I also tested them out by wearing them while playing video games that use my sound card's ability to create a 3D surround sound effect such as Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas. These headphones sounded very good with those games and the surround sound worked quite well with them thanks to the way that the ear pads conform to the shape of your ears a bit, blocking out most background noise so that you really get the full effect of the surround sound. That's not bad performance from a budget pair of headphones.

They are lightweight, but don't feel fragile. I like that you can fold them up quite a bit so that they'll easily fit in a backpack or portable game system carry case like the one I have for my New 3DS XL that has several pouches inside of it. Not quite as small as my earbuds, but will still fit if I don't take all of my game cards.

The only thing I really don't like about them and that keeps them from earning five stars, is that the headband isn't padded. I thought it wouldn't matter since they aren't heavy, but after extended use (like watching a two hour movie for example), the headband gets to be rather uncomfortable. So, I wrapped a piece of felt around the headband and taped it in place with Gorrilla Tape (like Duct Tape only better). That has solved the problem.

I recommend these headphones for when you want a pair of simple headphones that won't be too big of a shame to lose, get broken or stolen since they didn't cost a fortune, but yet still sound decent. They aren't Bose level of quality, but they aren't Bose priced either.

    I love these ear pods

I had a pair of these they lasted me five years, I give my old ear pods to my niece and bought these for me.The sound quality is really good and I use them when I ride my motorcycle. One day I got a call While on a ride and to my amazement when I hit the answer button and started talking the person heard me clearly they couldn’t believe I was talking While riding my bike. I’ve owned beats and other brands but the same thing would happen one ear pod would stop working then both would stop working. I think the reason was because I was using them while working out and my sweat would some how get in there and mess them up. But the Sony pods keep doing there job no problem. If you buy these you won’t go wrong.

    Durable and reliable.

I've bought several of these in-store and online. They're cheap and I'm sure audiophiles will object to the sound quality or whatever. I don't need to hear my podcasts in perfect stereo. I just need headphones that can take a bit of a beating, get stuffed in my pockets and tangled up and yanked around, and still work. These do the job. I'll use them continuously and wear them out and get a new set. Please keep making these, Sony--and please keep them in stock, BB. They're simple and reliable.

A More Immersive Experience on the Oculus Quest 2

Great headset for the Oculus Quest 2. Fits really well with the Elite Strap and feels very comfortable. The sound quality is great but not amazing. The microphone seems to have issues for me when I try to talk to connect my Oculus to my PC but it works fine when just using the Quest 2 normally.

    Amazing find!

My wife wanted wired headphones and over the ear for work and also for entertainment. She was very specific about what she wanted/needed. These headphones definitely worked for what she wanted. Great sound quality, no pressure on the earlobes and the microphone works amazingly and it's also detachable.

it works well and complements oculus as well as other devices. mike extension not required when using oculus and that is cool. so far i have had no issues with the device and recommend it without hesitation. shorter cord is definately appreciated. there is nothing out there that compares.

    Awesome Quest 2 Headphones

    Perfect for the quest 2.

Raised my immersion into the games dramatically.

Plus it isnt blasting sounds for everyone else to hear.

Wish it had some independent volume controll for bass and treble but still overall awesome

Could be a little cheaper too.

    Makes it even more immersive

I love these and hate them at the same time. Since they plug in it is awkward to put the headset on, then blindly gab these and put them on, plug them in. Not too bad. Taking everything off, especially in a hurry? The struggle is real man!

In all seriousness, I like it loud and it doesn't bother my family as much when I wear these and I don't hear my husband whining for food either, bonus! I'm busy, playing Beat Saber!

Broke after 3 weeks. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

tI purchased these as a B-Day Present for my son, (and replacement for another set up JLab Audio Headphone). After about 3 weeks a screw came loose, I put the screw back in and later the screw fell out and was lost, the part the held the L side headphone just fell off, I ended having to put some DUC tape around it to hold it in place.

Since this was past the 15 days return policy that Best Buy has, I could not return them.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THESE, THEY WILL BREAK AFTER HEAVY USE.

I have a Lenovo laptop with poor speaker volume. Due to quarantine conference calls I needed something cheap and comfortable that would work better than my cell phone earbuds. These headphones are perfect. Because they cover the whole ear, I don't experience any soreness at the end of the day. Sound quality is excellent and there have been no issues with people hearing me on the other end.

    Great backup wired headphones.

I bought these on a whim last year and have really enjoy them. The sound these produce is on-par with a lot of $99+ wireless headphones on the market. So much so that I've returned quite a few pairs of wireless headphones because of it. If they cannot out perform something that is $70 cheaper what's the point? I'm surprised that people have said these are volume limited as they get pretty loud and drown out background noise without any active noise isolation or cancelation.

The only drawback that I have found is the built-in mic is just awful. That seems to be a consistent issues across the entire JLab line of headphones.

So, after buying him a cheap pair of over-the-air headphones somewhere else (that broke super fast), I decided to get these. Best headphones for your toddler hands down!

Bought this for my 3 year old daughter and she loves it. The fact that it has a volume limiter is a huge plus so I have peace of mind knowing these will not hurt her ears if she accidentally turns the volume all the way up. This was a no brainer purchase. If you're tired of listening to cocomelon or Ryan's world over and over again, get these and enjoy your peace and quiet.

    Best bang for your buck.

I recently purchased these earbuds by Sony and I absolutely love the sound quality they provide. I was considering several different pair. I also looked at, and eventually purchased, the Klipsch R6. I also considered the Skull Candy strum.

I listened to both the Sony and the Klipsch offering, using the same music from the same device so that I would have a accurate comparison. Both pair offer excellent rich sound for such a tiny speaker. Both have great bass and mid level sound. There are 4 differences between the two offerings in my opinion.

    1. The Klipsch are more comfortable. They fit my ears perfectly. They are almost like having nothing in my ear at all. Great snug fit. I workout in my earbuds so that's important. The Sony pair seem more durable though. And they are not uncomfortable. They just aren't as comfortable by comparison.

    2. Both pair have great bass and lows. The Sony offering had better high level sound though. The vocals are crisp and the horns are clear and bright. The Sony buds are extremely well balanced in my opinion.

    3. The Sony buds have better styling and color. (If that matters to you.)

    4. The Klipsch offering costs about twice as much.

    Winner: Sony

I'm not paying Twice as much unless your product is twice as good. For the price, I haven't owned a better pair of earbuds. I'm not a fan of the bass heavy Beats. I listen to almost all types of music so I while I do love great bass from a speaker, I don't want to sacrifice clarity and balance. Sony offers it all for a great price.

    Good quality budget earbuds!

Pros: really good bass for its tier/price(rivals and maybe even kind of betters my other actively used WIRED earbuds such as UrBeats3 and it easily blows the Earpods); blocks lots of noises, long, flat, non-tangle cables, right angle 3.5mm plug, really bright blue color, universal compatibility with use of lightning or usb-c adapters and...it's made by Sony.

Cons: the buds protrude ways out than I would like them to be and it makes listening while laying on my side uncomfortable..need to take one off; no buttons for volume control(need an app or something but no thanks), mic quality for calls is so-so due to farther than usual placement of the mic itself and with the use of the bigger bud tips..uhh..it makes weird plastic-y noises when inserting into my ears.

Even with the downsides...I still recommend and rate this excellent because the pros outweigh the cons.

    Great earbuds

Im not really for listening music or movies with earbuds, they always seem to come out my ear. I like to use headphones over the ear. So i decided to get the JBL-Live 400BT for $100. There nice but they dont get loud enough and the bass is weak. I then got the Sony WH-XB700 for $130. Again, they sound good but not enough bass and doesnt get loud enough. But the Sony - MDRXB50 earbuds, surprised me. Not only does these earbuds have enough bass, the get really loud and the way they are designed they curve into your ear. Plus, they are $30... REALLY GREAT EARBUDS.

    Cheap.....but gets the job done!!

I bought these headphones to use for meditation purposes only. I don't use them for communication on the phone. The quality is very poor and people could hardly hear you. I would recommend these earphones for listening purposes only. Anything other than that....cheap...cheap...cheap.

    They sound pretty decent.

Like my title says, they do sound pretty decent. They are very light weight and pretty comfortable, I have even fell asleep while watching a YouTube video before bed on my Samsung Galaxy note 5 using these earphones and i noticed no discomfort at all.

When it comes to sound they sound very bright and what I mean by that is that the higher frequencies overkill the low frequencies by about 50% the bass response which is the lower end frequencies can be heard ok but it's not as loud as I would like it to be, when it comes to Bass on a scale of 1 to 10 I give it a 7 as it is much to be desired, you can hear it but not as loud as the higher frequencies. Now when it comes to the cord on the earphones, it is honestly very flimsy and feels like if I accidentally yank it a little too hard, the cable can tare off from the earphone making them useless. When it comes to phone calls, some people.can hear me pretty clear and some hear my voice muffled. I can answer and end calls with it but the volume control doesn't work but it's not a big deal for me.

I can compare these easily to the earphones you get with most Android smartphones like my samsung note 2 and 3. My note 5 didnt come with any so I also had a pair of klipsch XR8i Hybrid earphones which I really liked due to their awesome bass response and clarity but unfortunately I cannot recommend them because they are extremely expensive and though they sound good, they were replaced 3 times by the 1 year warranty because 1 tweeter driver on the left side and 1 woofer driver on the right side kept breaking inside the earphones which was weird. Once the 1 year warranty was over, the last replacement pair broke in 2 months of use for the same exact reason and I only used them at night watching Netflix, YouTube and some Anime off of Funimation and Crunchyroll at low to medium volume, so that is why I bought these cheaper Sony earphones to replace the expensive ones. Now for the price of these Sony earphones under twenty dollars, they do the job well and serve my purpose of bedtime YouTube video watching till I fall asleep. Would I recommend them? Yes because they get the job done and they are very affordable and very comfortable too so if these break, I can simply order another pair with no problem of breaking the bank vs the klipsch earphones that costed me almost $300.00 dollars. They sounded excellent while they worked but not worth it. BestBuy is no longer selling the XR8i's either because of faulty parts in the driver's. Anyways do not expect these to have a good amount of bass because they don't really have it however they do sound decent and get the job done. In the picture below you will see my new cheap Sony earphones in the right vs my Expensive paper weight edition klipsch earphones on the left.

Sound just as good as Audiophile Earbuds...

So I've always loved music and sound and am kind of an audiophile.

I've had higher end earbuds like the now discontinued Sony Ex-1000. These were about $500+ and sounded great until they broke after 3-4 years of me traveling and doing crazy stuff.

Then I bought the Shure 215 in ear monitors. These also sounded great and just as good as the $500 earbuds at about $100. Unfortunately the fit on these things were terrible and the detachable cable kept causing the sound to cut out when I moved vigorously during a workout or for work. After 2+ years of daily use, after one crazy day in the woods... I just lost them...

I also have a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770 Headphones. They sound great, but they're not convenient and at the time I bought them almost a decade ago, they were quite expensive.

After that I was like forget this, I'm getting some cheap Earbuds to hold me over. And you know a not-so-huge surprise was that these earbuds sounded great! Also, because of their compact size and light weight, it's easy to be active with these. Maybe the other more expensive earbuds better, but I can't tell the difference. And they are cheap and common so if you lose them, it's not a big deal, just buy another pair.

I facepalm myself for spending that much money on earbuds over the years and fulfilling the "gullible audiophile" stereotype. Oh well... Live and learn.

For any audiophiles that are active and on a budget.... like poor college students, a good setup are these earbuds($15), and a good bluetooth DAC like the FiiO BTRK3 ($70) or the Earstudio ES100 ($90). These Bluetooth adapters sound great, and are very convenient. Dedicated Bluetooth earbuds are too expensive for the quality and durability...

Also get a small protective hard case so that your gear will last longer. It's a good investment and costs between $5-$15. I've had my setup for about 2 years now and it's still strong.

With that setup that cost about $115, you will have something that sounds just as good as setups costing thousands of dollars and is very versatile. You can use this setup on your phone, tablet, laptop, PC, whatever..

    Not bad for the price

These are really good earphones. I listen to music and TV on my phone, the sounds are so clear and crisp. I also use them as a backup to my Bluetooth to talk on the phone. I love them!

    Smh...RATING OF NEGATIVE 5

I spent more time detangling the extremely thin cord (spaghetti thin), than actually using the ear plugs; chucked them away...what a waste of my money. I usually read reviews before making purchases, however, I was in a hurry (MY FAULT) and allowed myself to run w/ a brand such as SONY, with a good reputation in electronics. THAT will never happen again.

    good quality...durable

nice product...very durable and versatile...I would fold/tie it and put it in my pocket many times when not in use and the wires were still intact...used it for many activities...when my gaming headset was not around, I'd use it and it worked well...I used it especially during exercising, despite sweating a lot...the main reason that I bought this though was to still use my near-to-dead phone because its mic stopped working (I use my things till the end...I'll find a way to fix them up or alternatively use them like it's a Mad Max world)...note that the microphone and earphones seemed like its good quality was wearing off from time to time, but it always worked like new after a good clean... I'm saddened that I lost it coming back from a trip...when it comes to portable/in-the-cut electronics, I prefer wired earphones like this

    Comfortable, not durable.

These are a highly comfortable, and easy to use earbuds that stay in your ears even while moving around. I unload heavy boxes for my job, and have to move them quickly, and I have never had a problem with these buds falling out or becoming a nuisance. The fact that the first pair only lasted 20 days before they would not be read by my device, and the second pair is already showing signs of damage is disappointing. So, they don't seem to be reliable, although it could be simply because I have overused them. But as these are the best earbuds I have owned, I would continue to purchase them.

Simply The Best Sounding Bluetooth Headphones EVER

After 3 full days using the Sennheiser Momentum 3 Bluetooth Headphones heavily, they are remarkably sublime. This is a long review and I apologize in advance. If you’re going to spend $400 for state-of-the-art Bluetooth headphones, I hope this helps you. This review covers; Design/Build Quality, Features/Comfort, Bluetooth/Codec, Smart Control App, Battery Life, Noise Cancellation and most importantly SOUND.

I’ve owned several high-end Bluetooth headphones. I much prefer over-the-ear design. I find them more comfortable, better sounding and way more immersive. For the last three years I’ve been using a pair of high-end Bluetooth headphones with noise cancellation. I thought they were really, good. That was until I got the Sennheiser Momentum 3 Headphones.

The headphones come nicely packaged and included in the box is a USB Cable with USB-C connectors and USB adapter for USB-C to USB-A if you don’t have USB-C capabilities. You get a proprietary analog audio cable with 3.5 mm jack which is about 1.5 meters long. Also included is a soft carry case and a quick start guide.

The first thing they suggest you do when you get them is to charge them fully. Then you download the Sennheiser Smart Control app for iOS or Android. The first time you open the headphones to turn them on they automatically go into pairing mode. If you have a device which supports NFC (Near Field Communication), the connection is automatic. If your device doesn’t support NFC, you simply go into Bluetooth settings on the device to pair them.

    DESIGN/BUILD QUALITY

These headphones are retro-modern if there is such a word to describe them. The ear cups and headband are beautifully wrapped in supple and soft sheepskin leather (no fake PU leather on these puppies – no sir) attached to matte black metal. They are nicely padded and generously sized to fit just about any size ear. My ears don’t touch the inside of the ear cup, which is a first for any headphone I’ve ever owned. Adjusting the headphones to your head is accomplished by a simple, but elegant stainless-steel band you simply slide up and down. Many competitors to Sennheiser use a lot of plastics in their build. Many don’t offer leather either. The sum of all the parts of leather and steel in these Momentum’s looks and feels very high-quality, which should last for many years.

    COMFORT/FEATURES:

These headphones are super comfortable. Wearing them for hours is great. They don’t put pressure on your ears or your head. The sheepskin ear cups are simply sublime in my opinion. Unlike fake leather, which can feel hot very quickly, these never felt even warm.

There is no power button on the headphones. To turn them on, you unfold them, and they instantly turn on. To turn them off, you fold them, and they instantly turn off. And when they turn on, there are voice prompts to let you know their status, such as “Power On,” “Power Off” or “Device Connected.” When you take the headphones off, they pause instantly. When you put them back on, play resumes.

All the controls are buttons on the right ear cup. My previous Bluetooth headphones were touch control. I’m so grateful these are not. If you’ve ever had touch-controlled headphones, it may seem cool at first. But just touching the controller on them often brings unwanted actions, like moving to the next song when you didn’t want to or pausing the music. Having real physical controls makes so much more sense and the layout simple, intuitive and very easy to use. You get a button to control ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) which includes three levels – Max Mode, Anti-Wind Mode, which lets in enough of the outside world when you may need it, and Anti Pressure Mode, which reduces pressure on ear and was actually my favorite mode. You can turn ANC completely off if you prefer. The other buttons are volume up/down, multi-function for music and calls and voice assistance buttons. There are separate microphones for ANC and for phone calls. Phone calls I made with the headphones were uniformly excellent. Callers were completely unaware I was using headphones – Nice!

    BLUETOOTH/CODEC

The Momentum 3 headphones are Bluetooth 5.0. Bluetooth 5.0 is the newest Bluetooth standard and is very Low Energy (LE), meaning it won’t run your connected device battery down if your device is 5.0. The newest generation devices are 5.0, but if you don’t have a 5.0 device, no worries, your headphones will work just fine, as these are backward compatible.

In terms of connectivity, these headphones can be paired with up to 8 devices. Remarkably, they will pair automatically with the last two devices they were paired with at the same time. WOW! You can move seamlessly from, say your iPhone to your iPad, without having to unpair and pair again. If you connect to a 9th device, the least used device will be unpaired. Still, having the ability to pair with eight devices, two of which are simultaneous is astounding!

The Momentum’s come with the following Codecs: aptX, aptX LL, AAC, SBC. What difference does this make? These are the most advanced compression's for lossless audio streaming. aptX is not available on iPhone but is available on other makes. Apple uses AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) and is the successor to MP3. Whether your device is aptX or AAC, it will simply sound better.

    SMART CONTROL APP:

Go out to the App Store or Google Play Store and download The Smart Control App. It’s perhaps a too simple, but quite easy to use app. Once you’re in the app, you can control the equalizer (EQ) and Noise Cancellation. Adjusting EQ is too simplistic. You slide your finger around, which is easy, but doesn’t permit adjusting bass, mid and high frequencies separately. But since I personally found no adjustment was necessary at all, the app isn’t something I’ll use much, if at all. You can also turn on Transparent Hearing, which turns on the microphone if someone needs to get your attention.

These headphones also come with Tile App compatibility. Since I’m already using Tile, I can track the headphones if I misplace them. If you’re not a Tile user, you will need to download the Tile App and set up an account, which is free.

    BATTERY LIFE:

Momentum claims the battery lasts 17 hours. That is not industry leading, but it’s not bad either. Competition in the same class offer better battery life of anywhere from 20 to 30 hours. The pair of headphones I’m replacing offered only six hours, so 17 hours is a big step up for me. But if your battery dies, you can plug the Momentum in with the supplied 3.5 mm cable. It takes about three hours to fully charge the battery.

    NOISE CANCELLATION:

There are other headphones in this class which offer more noise cancellation. If your primary reason to buy headphones is to be completely isolated from the outside world, then these may not be the headphones for you. I buy headphones to listen to music. Noise cancellation for me is not the determining factor. To that end, the three options you get with Momentum 3 are more than enough for me and then some. Max offers the most isolation from outside sounds. Anti-Wind is best if you’re outside and need to be aware of your surroundings. And Anti Pressure for me was prefect.

    SOUND:

This is what it’s all about. And that’s the magic of Sennheiser sound. Sennheiser is a German company, founded in 1945. They are ALL about sound and introduced the world’s first open headphones in 1968, forever changing the world of headphones. To me, sound trumps ALL when it comes to headphones. Design, build quality, features, etc., aside (which are all excellent), this is where the Momentum's shine brightest.

OMG - These puppies have bass. Deep bass. Full bass. Punchy bass. Well controlled bass. While these headphones are great for any musical genre, I’m mostly a classical music lover. When the organ In Camille Saint-Saens Organ Symphony is played, it is simply awe inducing. The same with the Canons in Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. It can rattle your head, but in a great way.

Vocals and instruments, such as guitar or piano are so natural sounding. Few headphones recreate the human voice naturally. I expected Sennheiser to get the human voice and instruments right and they did. To change it up, I listened to some songs from artists like Libera or Enya and everything was balanced and natural sounding. Another fun group, Caravan Palace, uses synthesizers and instruments and with the Momentum's, I heard things I’d never heard with other headphones.

Many headphones over emphasize treble. which can easily become harsh sounding and fatiguing. The best reference monitor speakers may sound flat in comparison initially but sound more natural and can be listened to for many more hours. This is the case with these Momentum’s which makes for being able to listen for hours without listener fatigue.

Is there anything I would change? Just a few things. It would have been more class leading if Sennheiser had put a bigger battery in for more than 17 hours of play. The included soft sided case won’t provide much protection, so I purchased a hard-shell case for more protection. The Smart Control App isn’t really all that smart. And finally, while you can see the battery percentage in the Smart Control app, I would have preferred to see battery percentage in the Battery Widget on my iPhone/iPad. The quick start guide isn’t very good, to be honest. Bu you can go out to Sennheiser.com and download the full user guide, which is much better. To be honest, if these are the only thing’s I can be critical of it’s pretty minor.

So, there you have it. For $399, these are the best headphones I’ve ever listened to. I like how they look. I like how they’re built. I like how they feel on my head. And I LOVE how they sound. It just doesn’t get better than this and I can't recommend them enough!

    Quality ANC Headphones

Most of my Sennheiser product knowledge is predicated on my experiences with their professional broadcast audio equipment. Knowing they are a leader in that field, I was eager to try their commercial noise cancelling headphones. The MOMENTUM 3 lived up to my expectations...for the most part.

    Features

    - These headphones have some nifty tech features including auto on/off by simply "folding" (or unfolding) the headphones together. They also have a "smart pause" feature that will auto pause/play based on a magical sensor somewhere that determines whether or not the headphones are over your ears.

    - Sennheiser chose to stay with tactile buttons to control volume, skipping, ANC, etc. rather than the "touch sensors" that many other high end, designer headphone manufacturers are moving to. Personally, I prefer the touchpad concept over buttons. Nonetheless, the buttons are simple to locate/manipulate and the commands (volume, skip, hang up, etc.) are easy to remember.

    - One of the cooler features, in my opinion, is the TILE integration so you can find these headphones if you misplaced them.

    - Voice assistance is offered and worked just fine with Google Assistant, however, when I paired them with my laptop and streamed Google Music, Cortana was the default assistant and could not complete vocal commands like "play next."

    Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)

    - The ANC in these is very good. Not many of us have the option to truly test all the high end brand ANC headphones but I have used 4 other ANC headphones (including one set of in-ear buds) and while everyone argues between Bose and Sony for the "best ANC" these headphones offer better than average noise cancellation.

    - ANC options include an easy toggle switch for ANC OFF, ANC ON, and a toggle between "amplified ambient noise" and noise cancelling--essentially auto-pausing your music and letting you hear everything around you crystal clear and loudly without the need to actually take the headphones off.

    - With some ANC headphones, toggling noise cancellation on/off will impact audio quality. Not an issue with Sennheiser. I noticed very little if any change in audio quality between ANC on and ANC off.

    - On the day my headphones arrived there were Bobcats outside of my ground floor office working on a landscaping project that involved dumping/raking rocks outside my window for about 30 minutes. With ANC on and music at an average level, I hardly knew the landscapers were there. I also never heard the office phone ring :-)

    Design

    - Discreet, easy to use/remember tactile button controls on the right muff. USB-C connectivity/charging plus a mini cord for wired connectivity. The headphones come with a USB-C to USB-A adapter for charging if you don't have a USB-C charger.

    - The look of the headphones is "old school" with a durable metal bad mounted to the outside of each can. This "retro" look makes the headphones look a bit larger than normal on my bald head.

    - The cans have a very deep, soft, leather cushion. The band over the head is well cushioned and comfortable as well.

    - It is worth noting that the quality materials/construction adds some weight compared to "all plastic" headphones of the same size. They fit me very well and I have not had issues with the headphones slipping or my ears getting too warm.

    Audio Quality

Here's where it call comes together...

    - The audio quality is very good with these headphones. My only complaint is that, compared to other comparable brands at this price point, the audio sounds "distant" rather than "front facing." As a result, I think Sennheiser inadvertently created a "muddy, behind you" sensation when listening to music. Audio is full and rich, but not super tight and crisp. Again, the auditory quality is very good and balanced (you get the bass, you get the midrange, you get the treble) but when comparing them side-by-side to other headphones, I found the sound sensation to feel like the sound was behind me rather than in front of me.

    - When used for calls and video conferencing, my audience sounded great, however, they said that I was a bit hollow (as if I were in a public restroom).

    - My test music included modern rock, modern alt, 90s hip hop, 80s rap, grunge and metal. With the default EQ, no one style sounded better than the other yet I found myself wanting to tweak the settings for each style. Fortunately there is an app for that...unfortunately that app is a bit lacking.

    App

    - The app is average at best. It has an EQ feature that is less than spectacular. I cannot manually set the EQ where I want it--where I set it for ALL my audio devices (home stereo, car, soundbars, etc.)--because they use a "curve slider" rather than just letting us adjust the low, mid, high manually. Again, while the overall audio quality of these is good, a better EQ could make these headphones sound GREAT.

    - The app also let's you control ANC settings that include MAX, ANTI-WIND and ANTI-PRESSURE (eliminates that "pressure in the ear" or "underwater" feeling some get with ANC). The app will also let you turn on "transparent hearing" which essential means whether or not you want to hear street noise while listening to music.

    Other

This is the first pair of bluetooth headphones I have owned that "multi-paired" to devices. I use these in the office and paired them with my laptop to stream music. I also paired them with my mobile phone. Occasionally the headphones would cut out which I thought was a quality issue. It turns out, they were cutting out whenever I touched my phone. At first I thought this was cool--the headphones were smart enough to know which device to switch to automatically. However, it became a nuisance because of how frequently I touch my phone to read a text or acknowledge a message. Nonetheless, I am not sure if this is an intended "feature" or just "smart technology" but this knowledge may be useful for some.

    Overall

Overall I would recommend these headphones because the design quality and tech features. The audio quality and ANC is very good. If you are a sound tweaker, however, you may find these headphones to be a bit limited as you struggle to dial them in to your preference.

By far, the best sounding bluetooth headphones!

    Pros:

By far, the best sounding headphones I have ever heard for wireless bluetooth models of any kind! These things blow the Sony and Bose noise cancelling models out of the water in terms of sound quality. They just sound rich and full of bass. I listen to hip-hop, metal / punk / hardcore, and lots of electronic music. All sound great! Even right out of the box, without using their app on your phone (in my case Android - LG v30), they have a really nice amount of bass. The app lets you control it more, going way overboard on bass if you want, i mean way too much bass, but never quite getting too distorted, the drivers in the earcups can seem to handle it.

They are built solid. I mean these things are built like a tank, and it is a good thing, as the mechanism to fold them also is the only way to easily power them down. Watch out for you fingers though, as the little hinge can cut you if they fold over your fingers. But they are built great!! And they are super comfortable. The ear cups are pretty deep and don’t touch my ears!! I have fairly average sized ears, so your mileage may vary, but this is always an issue with my ears with ear cups that go over my ears. Not with these deep ear cups!

These bad boys also will stay connected to 2 devices at once!! FINALLY!! Love this!! Case in point… I paired these with my Android LV v30 phone… installed app, upgraded the firmware thru the app, and later paired them with my Nvidia Shield media player. Basically you will get a little voice saying, “connected to phone 1” then, “connected to phone 2” (if you are nearby when you turn the headphones on)... I can then watch movies and shows via my Nvidia Shield TV streamer, including KODI stuff with surround tracks, and they sound phenomenal. But, I can also still get notifications on my phone. The only downside of this is, whatever is playing on my other connected device will be “auto-paused” while the notification from the other connected device pairs thru. You can stop this behavior from happening by just setting your phone to vibrate, at least on my Android devices. The sound quality is still pretty stellar for watching movies on my Nvidia Shield TV, and I did not detect any lag between movies/shows and what I was hearing on the headphones, including watching things that had DTS-X, and Dolby Atmos surround sound tracks. I mean these things sound great for watching movies early mornings and late nights! They seem to remember the equalizer settings setup in the app most recently too.

I also found that plugging them in via USB-C cable directly to my USB-C port on my phone would give me slightly better audio quality, but not go as loud, but did however seem to charge my headphones from my phone battery. Was not expecting that, though it is a plus if you need to charge that battery in a pinch. Your touch controls still work while connected via USB-C to your device.

Via wired connection these also sound great, especially if you have a high powered DAC. I happened to have these on my LG v30 phone, and when switching on my phone to that HiFi DAC on it, it sounded great on these headphones. You will not be able to make or receive phone calls, or control the audio via the headphone touch controls however. They unfortunately have a proprietary connector on the headphone side, more on that below in the cons section of this review.

On the couple of phone calls I have made so far, callers said I sounded pretty good, certainly better than included earbuds that I was previously using. I did like that I could change the ANC to transparent mode, so I could talk and still hear the outside world while speaking.

Cons - Now I know I am listing quite a few, but I also want to say, none of these things would detract me personally from not buying these, because the sound quality is so good!!

If you spend $400 on a set of headphones, one would have hoped they would have at least provided a hard case. These headphones come with a pretty flimsy cloth case with zipper. I already have ordered a hard case to hold these, because this fabric/cloth case won’t do anything to protect your headphones in a bag with other things. If they are just in a backpack on their own they might be just fine, but at $400 they should have given this to us.

The noise cancelling seems to only knock out background noise maybe 50-60 percent to my ears. I use these while using a really loud vacuum, and they just don’t cancel my vacuum out more than that. These just don’t knock out sound like the Sony WH-1000XM3, and the Bose QuietComfort 35. But, those don’t sound nearly as good as these Sennheiser, not even close if you like bass especially!

Battery life - I really wish these had better battery life. Both the app and the headphones themselves will tell you how much battery life is left, but apparently only in increments of 20%... either saying “you have over 80% battery life”, or showing it to you via the app. Not sure why they went this route, but I would have preferred an actual percentage like most devices. The other thing is, these are rated for 17 hours of wireless battery life, but I find I am getting around maybe 10-12 hours on a full charge or so with ANC turned on, and forcing my phone to use Apt-X bluetooth codec. Luckily, after your first initial charge, they do charge up to 100 percent quickly, but make sure you use the provided USB-C to USB-C cable (and their provided adapter to USB-A for your charger if needed). At first I used my own USB-C to USB-A cable, and it seemed to charge much slower than using their cable. All in all, it seems to take about 2-3 hours to fully charge from when it is around a 40 percent state. I don’t know for sure, but I get the impression that the reason the battery life is not as good as the Sonny or Bose, is because these pack so much bass on them. They must have their own DAC on board that uses more battery power to deliver that bass.

    Folding design -

While I do like how they fold, I don’t particularly like that there is no dedicated on-off button. While it has not happened to me when folding, I can potentially see a time where they either unfold in their case, draining out your battery. They should have just thrown in an extra power button that will override this behavior.

Yeah.. you can use them with a cord, but they unfortunately are of a proprietary design on the right ear cup, and it is difficult to get in (you twist until it pops in). But once it is in, the sound can get even better than any of the bluetooth codecs can get. Just make sure if you are using them with a music app that it has a good equalizer to really make them shine to your liking. I really wish they used a standard plug on both ends. Plugging the cord in also sends the headphones into airplane mode, and bluetooth gets shut off. Now the real difficult thing is getting their proprietary cable out. It requires a lot of pressure to yank out, and everytime I feel like i am going to destroy the cable, or destroy the jack on the ear cup itself. I don’t know why they went this way with this.

Con - Equalizer in the app. At first I thought it was ok, but for a company with such a great history making headphones with stellar audio quality, I wish they had made a true equalizer, and not what they went with which doesn’t seem to provide as much granular control. At very least I wish they had allowed you to save equalizer profiles that you can switch in the app. That would have been made it easier to swallow at least. It is just hard to remember that sweet spot if you jump between genres of music with these. It is a bit finicky setting just right.

Another ding on the app on Android, and at least on my LG v30 with android version 9.0, you cannot tell what bluetooth audio codec is actually being used inside the app. I had to go into a android developer mode on my phone to see that it was not using one of the higher end codecs when connected. After physically clicking aptX, I could hear the sound quality get even better. I just wish they would let you do this in their app. Not sure why they can’t do the same with their android app.

You can charge these headphones, and still keep using them, but I noticed they introduce a low hum while listening to them via bluetooth, and charging at once. The same happens when charging the headphones and using the wired connection to your device, there is still that humming.

Overall, these are fantastic sounding, and very comfortable headphones. I know I listed a lot of cons, and my advice would be that if you value sound quality over the amount of noise cancelling, these are worth the extra money over the Sony and Bose options. I also find the build quality of these Sennheiser’s to be much better than the Sony and Bose. I personally like the way they look but they are definitely more noticeable than the Sony or Bose for sure. A more traditional headphone look.

Recommended if you value sound quality and comfort over noise cancelling! Your ears will not regret it!

    Phenomenal Sound with caveats.

Let me first start off by saying Im a headphone lover and have/had MANY, from many different brands. But, I am not an Audiophile, I just like music and I like it to sound good.

First impressions after removing the set from the case was the cold feel of the metal headband. Just screams quality product. Quality build.

Pairing was simple, they automatically go into pairing mode as soon as you unfold them. Then after that, folding and unfolding turns then on and off. I like that simple smart feature and its a battery saver for those that forget to shut their headphones of (ME).

There is another smart feature which I wish other headphone makers would follow. That is the auto pause/play function when you take the headphones off, put them around your neck and even with the right ear cup, slide it off your ear....it will pause. Genius!!

Sound quality is top tier, you can tell its a Sennheiser set of headphones. I listen to several genres of music but mainly Alternative/Metal/Metal core rock. These scream, full volume and zero distortion. Just the right amount of bass, punchy, not muddy. The highs are not tinny and sound great. You can pick up every note, seems to be the right mix between the lows and highs. I switched over to some Dubstep to really test the bass response and these carried themselves very well. Any DJ would be happy with this set.. Sound representation is really spot on.

    Now the bad.

After 20 minutes they squeeze my head, I wear glasses and this might pose a problem since I listen to music for hours a day. This is really disappointing. Im hoping they break in a bit after there worn. Time will tell.

No noise cancelling, these would greatly benefit form that, as all headphones would. My current favorite headphones have this feature and it will be hard to lay those down to test these further.

They are fairly heavy with the metal headband.

The carrying case if a soft sided case with hard tops. I wish the whole thing was a hard case.

Id recommend these to anyone would doesn't wear glasses or maybe has a smaller head. Im only deducting one star as this is not the fault of the headphones, I just must have a big head. They do sound fantastic.

    Good sound with problems

    Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless Headphones

Setup: The instruction pamphlet will get you started. You will want to download the Sennheiser Smart Control application from either Google Play or Apple’s App Store. More on the app later. My headphones shipped 80% charged so were ready for use out of the box. I started by plugging them directly into my computer via USB-C and firing up my iTunes library. My thought is that I would charge them to 100% while breaking them in with my iTunes library. Later, I was able to easily connect the Momentum 3 to my computer and iPhone via the included proprietary three-way stereo cable. Bluetooth connectivity with my iPhone was equally easy to setup.

Music: Highs, mids, and lows are clear. I played a variety of content including Electro Swing, K-Pop, easy listening, 70’s power ballads, alternative, rock, classical, and some popular videos including The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. Highs were high. Mids felt rich and clear. Low notes felt tight and detailed. And those low, powerful waves of base you get from movies felt satisfying when the Momentum 3’s were hard wired into my computer. The “Two Towers” over Netflix sounded pretty good for headphones.

I started off my musical journey with Boston’s “More Than a Feeling”. I tested the music over Bluetooth and stereo cable connection using my iPhone and Apple Music. There is a difference in sound quality. Bass sounds deeper, highs sound clearer, and mids sound fuller on the stereo connection. I also noticed that the volume increased once I removed the stereo cable. Almost like the headset was trying to make up for the detail loss with increased volume. Again, everything was clear. I did this same A/B switch out with Sturgil Simpson’s Sound & Fury, Momoland’s “Bboom Bboom”, A Hat in Time & Plasma3Music’s “Trainwreck of Electroswing”, the “Ghost Busters” soundtrack, Lindsey Stirling’s album “Artemis”, Bach’s “Sanata for Flute and Continuo in E Minor, BWV 1034: II, Allegro”, and so on and so forth. In all instances, wired sound better than wireless. I expect this due to how awful Bluetooth is with music.

Additionally, every selection, regardless of wired or wireless, had this behind my ear quality that sometimes worked and sometimes did not. The harder, punchier music could overcome this with more volume. But, softer tracks, like classical, could not. I was not left with the feeling that I could kick back and feel immersed in my music. I felt like the music was coming from behind me regardless of material, sound canceling status, or equalizer setting. I did a comparison with other quality headphones I own. This is unique to these Sennheiser headphones. It is not necessarily bad. It is just different. You will also need more volume to achieve the same immersive listening experience as other similarly priced headphones.

The included cable is poorly shielded. I heard a buzzing sound over the cable while the iPhone was connected to the charging cable. This is the only headset I have that picks up this interference. I also have a wireless charging station for my gaming mouse. The stereo cable will pick up and transmit the frequency for the charging station if the cable is in proximity. It sounds like ping ping ping. This is not an issue for my other wired headphones. The cable is very thin and thus susceptible to picking up interference.

Volume: The headphones require adjusting with every musical source without exception. Bard’s Tale IV is a video game available on Xbox Gaming for PC. It has an A+ professional soundtrack that I wanted to test these headphones with. I connected the headphones over USB-C. I adjusted the volume appropriately. Then I switched to a wired connected for my Apple Music on my iPhone. I had to adjust the sound again. I then moved to Wireless with my iPhone. I had to adjust the volume again. I can understand changing the volume between devices. But, having to adjust on the same device left me scratching my head. We are talking wild swings in volume between connection types. Switching back to any of my prior sources yielded the same experience. The Momentum 3 does not appear to remember volume levels between devices. This is a pain for me because I am always changing between devices for different reasons. I do experience differences in volume with other headphones in the same class as the Momentum 3s. However, the wide swings in volume are unique to the Momentum 3s.

Smart Control App and Music Sources: Setting up the Momentum 3s with the Smart Control application was frustrating. My iPhone connected to the Momentum 3 without any issues during initial setup. The Smart Control app, on the other hand, kept dropping the connection. I had multiple experiences where the App would not connect to the headphones at all. The app did drop the connection very 10 to 15 seconds when it did make a connection.

For example, I am listening to Bach’s “Le clavier bien tempere” through Apple Music over Bluetooth and have no access to the features of the app. I have this same issue when connecting with the stereo cable or USB-C. According to the app, Sennheiser is aware of the issue and is working on a fix. I hope they come out with an update soon. Otherwise, what’s the point of equalizer functions and multiple noise canceling options if you have to turn off your music, disconnect any wires, connect to the app, make your changes, and then turn everything back on to see if the changes are to your liking?

The headphones can be used successfully without the app.

Smart Control Appp: There are three settings: Active Noise Canceling, Transparent Hearing, and Equalizer. The app will also tell you the battery level.

Active Noise Canceling will allow you to set Noise Canceling to Max, Wind, and Anti-Pressure. Max is exactly what it sounds like. This is the best noise canceling the Momentum 3 has to offer. The noise canceling is ok. It does block out the constant fan noise of my computer and some annoying background noises. It does a decent job of blocking out distant sounds like background conversations and moderate office background noise. I did use my Momentum 3 around my air fryer while crisping up some donuts. The volume of the air fryer was cut in half. Random noises, like keyboard key clicking, are somewhat muted. However, this is mostly due to the insulation provided by the ear cups and not the noise canceling qualities of the Momentum 3.

I did not test the Wind setting. I only noticed that this setting allowed a lot of outside sound into the ear cup.

Transparent hearing is a nice feature. This allows all outside sound to pass through the ear cups microphones into the ear cups without any processing. My audio source is automatically muted. I think this is the best iteration of this type of passthrough I have heard. I know it is the best of any headphones I own. The app allows me to modify this mode by allowing music to play, at a reduced volume, while transparency is turned on. I can see myself using this feature in the office when someone stops by to ask me a question.

Last is the equalizer. The equalizer is an interactive image with a small round circle on a flat line. You move the circle with your finger around the screen to influence the curvature of the line. One way increases bass and treble response. Move another way and you enhance mids by sacrificing highs and lows. You will favor one range or another depending on how you move your finger.

Hands free: The Momentum 3 is also capable of hands-free calling. I normally use either the wired ear buds that shipped with my iPhone or a wired stereo gaming headset that includes a mic boom. I get exception audio however I also hear the cable brushing up against my clothes. I tested the Momentum 3s by making a few phone calls. The feedback I received includes: Clear sound but my voice had a “speaker in the background” kind of quality. The quality was not as tight as I would expect from a dedicated directional mic. Hopefully Sennheiser can correct this when they fix their app.

Physical Controls: The Momentum 3 ear cup controls are solid. There is a switch that controls noise canceling settings, volume, a button that controls voice communications with your virtual assistant, and a multi-function button located between the volume controls. The multi-function button controls play, pause, track forward, and track back. The Momentum 3 ships with a sticker on the right ear cup with a basic description of what each button does. The included instructions go in depth regarding the use of each button. The button placement is convenient and easy to use. The buttons are rubberized, comfortable, and easy to depress. Below the buttons are the USB-C connection and a proprietary stereo jack that locks the stereo cable in place.

Folding the headphones for storage will turn the Momentum 3 off. There is no other “off” button. Removing the right ear cup from your ear will pause your content. However, this only works over wireless and USB. It also depends on the content. Taking the headphones off or removing the right ear cup from my right ear paused my desktop’s YouTube video playback. The video automatically restarted when I returned the ear cup to my right ear. This also worked with iTunes. However, it will not work with two programs simultaneously. Apple Music paused playback and replayed when connected over Bluetooth.

Comfort: I cannot wear these headphones for more than two hours. The ear cups are very soft, are comfortable, and the ear cups are adjustable for any head size. Unfortunately, they place too much pressure on my jaw. And there is no way to adjust for this with these headphones.

Overall, I am disappointed with my experience.

    Superb Audio

These headphones provide one of the best listening experiences. Audio is clear and detailed, very clear mid-tones, highs and enough bass.

    Design:

These are around the ear headphones, which are larger and they rest on the head, surronding the ears, not resting over the ears.

The headband is made of flexible metal, covered in leather with light padding.

Hinges are also metal, and fold inwards (like eyeglasses) but not sideways.

The button-like mounts between the earpieces and headband giving the headphones a classic retro look of studio headphones.

Earcups are very soft and plush, leather.

    Controls and operation:

After using many high-end Bluetooth headphones, these for me as the best in usability:

    - Unfolding the headphones turns them on directly, no button press necessary. It pairs with the phone right away. Folding one or both earcups turns it off.

    - Using sensors in the earcups, starts playing music within a second of putting the earcups on. Lifting one of the earcups or putting them around the neck pauses the music. For example, if need to talk to someone, simply lift the earcup and it pauses on its own. Also this puts the headphones in standby mode, but does not unpair from the phone, to save battery.

    - Controls are very simple, using logically placed buttons on the back side of the right earpiece:

    ○ Noise Cancellation control: Off, On or hear-thru (The hear-thru mode is a toggle on the same switch).

    ○ There is a spacing and then the volume up, play control and volume down buttons.

§ Like on many other headphones, the play button skips forward with two clicks and backwards with three clicks. The volume buttons serve only one function. Holding it for 2 second plays back the battery level.

    ○ The last button invokes the voice assistant when pressed once, and Bluetooth pairing when held.

    - Call control: If the headphones are around your neck, putting them on answers the call. Putting it back on the shoulder mutes it. The play button also answers and hangs-up. Holding it rejects the call. Pressing it twice switches call (Call-waiting, etc). Holding the volume down or up mutes or unmutes the call.

    - The noise-cancelling function can work without a phone connected.

    - The headphones come with an audio cable that can be used even when it ran out of battery (or use ANC in conjunction with the audio cable if it's on).

    Bluetooth:

It checks all my boxes. State-of-the-art Bluetooth implementation:

    - Bluetooth 5.0 (better range and better battery with newer Bluetooth 5.0 phones).

    - It can connect to two phones at once. I was able to use both my iPhone and Android paired at the same time, but plays audio from one at a time, it does not mix the audio, which would've been better for me. Regardless, very few headphones connects to two phones at the same time.

    - Supports NFC pairing for Android phones.

    - Uses Bluetooth LE for app control.

    - Codec support: SBC (Standard), AAC (best for iPhones), and AptX/AptX low-latency for higher-quality on Android.

    Tile:

    - One of the very few headphones that support the Tile Bluetooth tracking platform. This is very useful when miss-placing the headphones. Tile can tell you if the headphones are nearby and make them play a beep, even when they are off. And because Tile has millions of uses, the headphones can be tracked if any other Tile user is nearby. It worked for me on both iOS and Android, even when not paired to the phone. Note that it took me a few tries to pair it initially using an older iPhone, but once I set it up worked fine.

    Alexa:

    - After using the headphones, received a firmware update notification. After updating them, I was given the choice through the Sennheiser app to switch to Amazon's alexa when pressing the assistant button on the headphones. Otherwise, it's Siri on iPhone and Google's on Android (Or whatever your phone uses by default).

    App:

    - The Sennheiser 'Smart Control' is very basic and simple to use. It looks and works practically the same in iOS or Android. It's used to check the battery, set Alexa if needed, firmware upgrades, some general settings for the headphones, the level of noise cancellation and the equalizer.

    - The equalizer is different than anything else I've seen: Instead of setting individual Eq bands, there is a single dot, that depending on where it's set on the page, it adjusts both bass and treble. It's the simplest I've seen and it's effective.

    Noise cancellation:

The headphones already provide superb passive noise cancellation because it's a closed design.

The ANC provides three levels. However I find that even at max, the active noise cancellation is not enough.

If you're looking for absolute silence with active noise-cancellation, this is not for you.

    Observations:

    - The headphones charge via USB-C, which is the new USB standard, which is reversible and charges faster (depending on the charger and device).

    - It comes with an USB-C to USB-C cable, and also an USB-A to USB-C adapter, to connect to traditional USB chargers. It also comes with an audio cable.

    - Battery rated for 17 hours of music play.

    - A carrying case is provided also, which is padded, gray cloth, and find it very nice.

    - Sennheiser is a German company, with many, many years of experience in making headphones. And to my rejoice, are also manufactured in Europe (but not in Germany though).

    Final notes:

Lackluster active noise cancellation notwithstanding, these are very solid headphones, with exquisite sound, and very solid construction, and albeit a bit heavy, feels very comfortable wearing them though the day.

Battery life could be better for headphones this size, but is plenty for most uses, charging them about twice a week.

Also note that these do not fold flat, so they took a bit more space than necessary. However these are impressive, solid headsets.

Sennheiser sound does not disappoint. It's among the best sound on wireless headphones. Very rich, detailed sound. Neutral, balanced sound with very vivid delivery. I cannot stress how well it sounds, unless you're looking for overpowering extra bass, which is not my case.

    Simple

Sennheiser is known for quality and the Momentum is no exception.

I have been using these for about roughly two weeks give or take and I am very surprised by these headphones. In this review I'll give my opinion on the momentum headphones and how they perform in various scenarios.

    ::::General impressions:::

I own plenty of headphones wired & wireless and was really looking forward to using these headphones. Upon opening the box you'll find your headphones in a nice carrying case with the following accessories included; 3.5mm cable and USB type C. Yep these have USB Type C to me that's a big deal because that's one less cable to carry when it's time to charge. The headphones come folded and as soon as you unfold them they begin to look for your device. I had already downloaded the application and it paired in more seconds. It was effortless and not to mention I had a full charge out of the box. How many devices normally are fully charged when you buy them? First time for me but so far I'm impressed. On the outer right cup you'll find a sticker with all the controls listed. Volume up and down and pause and the ambient noise button which is easy to use. It is the top button you just slide it down and the music pauses and allows you to hear what's happening around you without having to take the headphones off. And then the very bottom button you have the personal assistant button. I use a Note 10+ and you have three options that presents itself; Google, Alexa, and Bixby. I use Google and it works well for simple searches and whatnot. So far so good.

These headphones sound good wireless and when you opt to use the wired. The Active noise cancelling works really well. I can use them and not hear anything when my girlfriend is nagging me. I also tested them outside on the Subway and they do a good job of drowning outside noise. I got used to the ambient button and don't take off the headphones. At first it took some time to get used to and I would take them off it is just a habit. I recommend turning off smart pause in the app it is annoying and pauses even if you take one side off to scratch your ear or adjust the headphones. I used them while working out I didn't like that because they cover the ear and I ended up sweating a little more than I liked but that's no fault of the headphones.

    :::Call quality:::

Calls were clear and I was able to everything and the other party did as well. Like most headphones though using them outside while there is wind can be challenging. A mild or moderate stream of wind isn't a big deal but anything more than that the other party will struggle to hear you.

    :::Pros & Cons:::

    Pros

    - USB Type C charging port

    - Long Battery life

    - Great smartphone app

    - Super easy to use once paired just unfold and it immediately connects

    - Comfortable for long periods of use

    - Good sound quality wired & wireless.

    Cons:

    - I did not like the smart pause feature (thankfully you can turn this off in the app)

    TL;DR

To summarize my review these are a top notch pair of headphones that are simple to use right out of the box. It uses USB type C to charge and can be used wired or wireless. It has long battery life, sounds great and is loud. There is an available smartphone app with some decent functionality that works really well and is just as simple to use. These are my daily headphones I use them whenever possible and also with my Nintendo Switch. There are plenty of other great headphones on the market but none are as easy to use as these are and all in all it is why I like them so much. Go and get a pair of your own they are that good.

Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless vs. Bose NCH 700

I’d say the Bose NCH 700 is my current top pick for a noise cancelling headphone at this time. I’ve tried pretty much every other pair under sun and the Bose is the most well rounded.

Price - Both are currently $399USD at the time of this review.

Design - I prefer the looks of the Bose while on my head. It’s more streamlined and minimalistic. The Sennheiser’s look more elegant with the steel and leather materials off the head, however the exposed wiring looks kinda funky on the head from a front view (hence why none of the promo pics show the model wearing these headphones from a front view. They’re always looking towards the side.) Also, the Momentum’s looks bigger on my head which is never a good thing when outside. Both are built well with no worries that one will break easily from normal usage. The Momentum’s takes the slight edge here with authentic leather on the ear-pads and headband. The Bose can fold flat which results in a much smaller profile when stowed away in its hard carrying case. The Sennheiser’s can also fold, but not flat. The carrying case is about twice the thickness of the Bose and it’s not a hard material so your headphones face a higher chance of crush damage while being in your bag.

Controls - Bose went touch controls while Sennheiser retained the tried and true button configuration. Both headphones allow controls of your volume, play and pause media and call accept and hang up and hold. Both thankfully have a dedicated voice assistant button however the Bose allows for always on and listening Alexa. Both can toggle between ANC modes, but the Bose allows for 3 ANC presets switching while the Sennheiser’s allow for only ANC on or off and ambient mode. The Bose surprisingly doesn’t allow you to turn off the ANC from the headphone and you have to do that from the app. The touch controls on the Bose is pretty responsive and I don’t really have issues with it. The button controls on the Sennheiser’s is tactile and works as should. So it really depends if you prefer buttons or touch controls here.

Comfort - I prefer the Bose slightly here. It’s lighter and just hugs my head with enough pressure to not fall off with any sudden head movements. The ear-pads opening is generous and allows my ears to go in all the way and not be clamped down. The Sennheiser’s is quite comfortable but they’re heavier and clamp a little harder on my head. I can wear both for 2 hours straight but the Bose just leaves my headphone not feeling as fatigued.

Battery Life - Bose takes the cake here. Longer 20 hour battery vs. the Sennheiser’s 17 hours. Also, from a quick charge the Bose can receive a longer charge at 3 hours vs the Sennheiser’s 1.5 hours. Both charge via USB-C.

Bluetooth - Sennheiser’s take the cake here in terms of codec support. NFC support is on the Sennheiser’s but not the Bose. They also support AptX-LL which is great for those who might want to play video games if they have a AptX-LL equipped receiver. Both support AAC and SBC, but the Bose does not support AptX. Connectivity and range has been pretty great on both and haven’t had any crazy issues while using both on the bus, subway, walking through NYC, at the office and at home. Both support 2 device connections. I prefer the Bose implementation because it switches between devices more seamlessly and the voice prompts tells you the name of the device it is connected to. The Sennheiser’s voice prompt just says “phone 1” or “phone 2” which isn’t really helpful if you have a desk with a MacBook Pro, iPad Pro and iPhone XS Max on it. Both can conveniently be put into pairing mode from one of the buttons on the control side of the headphone’s ear-cups.

Call quality - Bose is still number 1 here. Callers continue to tell me they can hear my clearly despite me being right next to a bus engine on my commute to work. Meanwhile on the Sennheiser’s, callers said they can hear the bus engine and I need to speaker up louder in the same environment, but they can still hear me unlike the Sony WH1000Xm3 which is completely horrible in these situations. If you’re in a quiet to moderately loud environment, they’re both gonna do well. The Bose just sets itself apart in noisy environments due to the excellent microphone array and the ability to cancel our background noises. Both have a convenient feature to mute your microphone while on the call using the voice control button on the Bose and the volume down button on the Sennheiser’s.

Features - Both do the basics for a 2019 premium ANC headphones. Bose has significantly more control over its ANC system (albeit a bit overkill). Also, there’s a preset button to toggle between 3 saved ANC presets leveraging on the fly adaptation to your environment. Sennheiser’s approach is to either have it on max or on with wind reduction mode or lower cabin pressure, off or transparency/ambient mode with the ability to have audio play as well or not. The ambient mode is slightly superior on the Bose. Simply sounds like I don’t have headphones on and every natural. The Sennheiser’s sound slightly digital but very good nonetheless. As for noise cancelling, Bose is easily superior. With the Sennheiser’s, I can still hear a decent amount of what’s going on around me while I’m commuting or walking through the city. With the Bose, the world literally melts away when the noise canceling is engaged and I can faintly hear what’s going on around me. When music is playing for the most part they will both block out everything around you typical in a commuting situation unless you listen at low volumes or there’s a quiet passage in the music, then the Sennheiser’s weaker ANC will cause loud outside noise to seep in.

Sound - I enjoy listening to both. The device I used is my MacBook Pro streaming AptX to the Sennheiser’s and AAC to the Bose. The Sennheiser’s is the more bass heavy, richer and warmer sounding of the two. The Bose is very balanced and neutral to my ears. Very high levels of clarity and detail can be heard on both sets, but the Bose slightly edges the Sennheiser’s in immediate detail and clarity due to the more neutral frequency response. Soundstage is superior on the Sennheiser’s. Everything just has this multidimensional and spacious presentation. The music sounds more like a live performance as opposed to listening in a studio like on the Bose. The separation of the instruments within the music is slightly better on the Bose due to the more neutral frequency response allowing subtle nuances in the mix to be more distinct. This aides in the ability to replicate a more convincing sense of space between the sounds in which the Bose excels over the Sennheiser in this regard. The Sennheiser’s bass can sometimes come off a bit too boomy and mask the subtle nuances in the mix. But this is rare and it’s quite a feat despite the amount of bass emphasis here. It’s a healthy bass boost but it is centered in the sub-bass which mitigates bass bleed into the midrange. The Sony WH1000Xm3 in comparison has a bass boost mostly in the upper and mid bass which blooms over into the mids and makes them sound boomy overall. Overall the Sennheiser is a warm and rich sounding headphone with great levels of clarity and detail. The Bose is a balanced and neutral sounding headphone with a slightly favoritism towards the warm side of the spectrum and excellent levels of detail and clarity. The Sennheiser’s get louder than the Bose and don’t distort at max volume which is a plus if you like to listen at those volumes. The Bose at max volume can distort on some tracks. I personally listen to at most 80% so max volume performance isn’t important to me. Also, no, I don’t believe in burn-in (If you’re getting ready to say I didn’t have the Sennheiser’s long enough). I’ve listened to brand new headphones and a highly used one of the same model and they sound and measure the exact same.

Conclusion - The Sennheiser’s have a special spot in my collection even though It performs worse overall in ANC performance, isn’t as comfortable to my head, has a worse overall battery performance, looks elegant but a bit uglier in my opinion than the streamlined Bose, doesn’t perform as well for calls, has less overall controllability from the headphone than the Bose, and it’s bulkier to carry around due to the much larger case that provides less protection than the Bose.

    Why?

Because despite all that it still does the essentials required from a modern day 2019 pair of ANC wireless headphones all while packing the one of, if not the best sound experience in this category to my ears. It's a really close call between it and the Bose.

Great job Sennheiser. You managed to incorporate a better microphone for voice pickup and 2 device Bluetooth connectivity (something the Sony WH1000Xm3 couldn’t do), decent, controllable ANC with ambient modes and good comfort alongside your signature sound. Color me impressed!

    FINALLY! Earbuds that fit!

My wife was absolutely convinced that she could no longer plug headphones into her Samsung Note 20 now that the 3.5 mm input has been removed. Until she literally watched me insert the plug of these headphones into her USB-C port, she just did not get it. But, now she’s extremely grateful to have wired earbuds that she can store in her bag - ready to go at a moment's notice.

Skullcandy has done a great job not just making Earbuds that work with USB-C devices, but in actually taking time to design earbuds that fit securely, sound good, and remain affordable. I have small ear canals and most earbuds simply will not stay put. I can be sitting motionless at my desk and all of the sudden my earbuds will pop out - which is wildly annoying. Until this set, I have been forced to use sport style earbuds with crazy rubber fins or bone conduction headphones which seriously lack audio performance/quality. I am so thrilled with the fit of these that I may have raided my wife’s purse (like a bored kid in church searching for candy. ...Eh, Certs will do.)

The snug fit does a great job at passive noise cancelation. ...So good that they need to be removed in order to have a conversation - even when the volume is at lower levels. The audio quality is fairly average for earbuds, but they do produce reasonable sound for all types of music as well as podcasts. Surprisingly, the bass is rather light - which is normal due to the small size of earbuds, but rare for Skullcandy (which tends to have a bass heavy profile). They are comfortable and light with the corded mic/remote (on the left side) not causing any issues with comfort or fit.

My only major complaint is that the remote is not able to start the current track over, or move to the previous track. They are designed to move back to the previous track with 3 clicks, but I have never been able to make this function work. One click pauses/plays, two clicks moves to the next track, and no matter how fast or slow I press - 3 clicks moves to the next track and then pauses. If I want to move to the previous track I have to use my phone’s voice assistant.

The only other negative is that they do not come with any attachment to ensure they stay in place during workouts. If they would have simply included a rubber fin, these could be used more reliably during running, biking, or lifting weights. I typically use bluetooth earbuds for those activities, but these truly could have been the only earbuds I needed if only Skullcandy had included the rubber fins (as they do with other models).

Overall I am extremely happy with these earbuds - mostly because they simply fit so well in my ears. I do recommend them to anyone wanting a standard set of wired earbuds that handle most basic functions/tasks with ease.

    Great quality and amazing sound

I'm loving these wired earbuds, finally wired earbuds via USB type C for phones that don't have an earphone plug anymore! The sound quality is amazing, much better than any wireless headphones, I mean, wireless and bluetooth are great, however it will never have the quality of wired ones. Setup was easy, just plug and play, it has a small button by the mic area (yes it has a mic for calls) where you can control music, answer calls and summon your favorite phone assistant. I currently have them with my Galaxy note 20 ultra and finally I can use dolby atmos! With my wireless earbuds, it was greyed out, but with these, I enabled it and the sound is amazing in games and movies!

They are very comfy and come with several size plugs for different sized ear canals. The only con is I could not for the love of me see the classic "L' and "R" most earbuds have so you can identify which one is which. I must be blind if these have those indicators but I could not see them, I don't think these have them, but I was able to figure it out. The one plug with the control button is the left one, so just FYI.

I highly recommend these to anyone wanting the quality of wired audio and if their phones don't have an earphone plug anymore!

    Great For Moving Bodies

I received the Skullcandy Earbuds and at first glance I really liked the design and color! After plugging them in to my iPhone I was Wowed .. Wasn't sure about it at first but once I worked out and went for a walk with my dog with them a few times I got the hang of them. Most Earbuds are so uncomfortable but these truly are not! They come with 2 sets of ear inserts to fit most ears, I ended up using one size for my right side and the other size for my left ear, lol... I would recommend these for people that want a true sport Earbud. While working out the Earbuds stay in place and don't fall out, this is a great function as they are great for movement. When working out my forehead tends to sweat quite a bit and I was fearing that this would some how make the Earbud slippery and fall off but the Silicone insert stayed in place and did not come off even if it got a bit of moisture, due to the design and the fit moisture is not an issue. Great feature and are becoming my go to while I'm either jogging, walking the dog or working out!!

    Works really well!

I’m old school and prefer wire headset over Bluetooth. These headphones are amazing, the design, the sound quality and over all fell of the headphones. I think Skullcandy did an amazing job by implementing a slight curve to the headphones where it snugs in very well and doesn’t fall off. The sound quality of the headphones is up par as well. The only thing that I dislike is the wire being too short. Its plug in play with and no issues while using it with my Pixel 2 XL. Mainly I have been using the head phones for YouTube, to listen to music or watch Videos. I have also used it to make and receive call and micro phone work pretty well. I haven't had any one complain about the mic echoing as they did with my previous head set. The headphones are light weight and don't feel off wearing them for too long. I think they can do better with the head phone covers as they feel low quality compared to others. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion.

    Excellent Sound

You can't go wrong with Skullcandy Sport Earbuds. The sound quality is amazing whether you're listening to music or using the microphone on a phone call. They are comfortable to wear for hours. I like to take long walks and am happy they are sweat resistant so I can use them all the time. The USB-C connector makes it easy to connect to my cell phone or tablet. They come with several size options to pick the most comfortable fit. You are also able to pause music or take phone calls with the handy button and the cord is the perfect size to put your phone in pocket. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion.

    Good for most

Summary: A good set of headphones if you have a need for wired and have a USB-C capable device.

Setup / unboxing: The package comes with the headphones, three sizes of ear buds, a small manual and warranty documentation. Being USB-C, they are plug and play. I tried them in my S21 Ultra, iPad Air and Asus Laptop, all worked first try with no setup.

    Pros:

They can be used with any device with a USB-C connection. Sound quality is decent with good bass and clean sound. I did not find it amazing good for general listening in most environments. Sound isolation was good for me and there was a good seal with the included tips. The cord has enough slack to not worry about it getting snagged in use.

Cons: The tips took a little work before they would stay in my ear comfortably; once they were set they did not fall out and were comfortable. There is no included carrying case. The ear tips sizes might be all too big for smaller ears.

My job keeps me offline for days at a time so these will be good when I do not want to mess with wireless ear buds or charging devices. Their wide compatibility makes them very useful.

    Great sound quality

I received a pair of skullcandy headphones at a discounted price in return for my honestopinion. . Upon first opening and using my Skullcandy usb-c connection headphones, I recognized the great sound quality they put forth. After trying these headphones for a little while I attempted to make a phone call while wearing them. I was able to make a call by pushing the button on the talk piece. I was able to answer a call and hang up a call how ever I was never able to hear any calls, nor was the person on the other end able to hear me. I tried these headphones on 3 different phones and not once was I able to hear a call in them. I tried to troubleshoot and research as much as possible with no luck. I reached out to customer service and they told me the headphones are covered under warranty for a replacement, all I need to do is send them back and wait for my replacement. They sent me an email with instructions to send them in (at my own expense, not happy about that) I received my replacement about a week later. I have been using these every day since. I use them for everything. When I am cleaning around the house and the baby is sleeping, I can jam out to my favorite tunes and not have to worry about waking her up. I can take a phone call with just a push of a button, and the built in microphone is very clear when picking up

sound.. These headphones keep all outside noise out and all I can hear is what is coming out of my headphones. The only downside to this great sound quality is that I cannot hear the baby cry when she wakes up from her nap. I like the design of the earbud, it fits comfortably in my ear and does not fall out or get uncomfortable after long use. Overall good product.

Because... Skullcandy... Is the right one!

I am impressed! I've tried so many earphones, even wireless, that did not have a good ear fit. This fit is perfect, which I am attributing to the ear gels. Skullcandy even gives you three ear gels in different sizes so you WILL find that amazing fit. The sound of the music is unexplainable. I'm thinking the great seal of the gels is what makes it happen. During workouts I sweat like crazy. Never once has this impacted the sound quality. Calls are crystal clear. I strongly suggest that if someone is ready to give up on earbuds, try these! Also, anyone starting out with earbuds, try these! It will save you much time and money. Start out happy!!

    Expecting Their Untimely End

I have had several pairs of these Skullcandy earbuds models varying in price from about $7 to $25 with the same results every time. One side will (or sometimes both sides) eventually stop working. The sound is good enough for me and the controls work okay with my Samusung so I keep getting them over the cheapest earbuds. I just don't count on them to last long and try not be too disappointed when another pair dies.

    Blue collar headphones

These are the perfect pair of headphones for a long flight or long days at airports. I take 2 pairs of these on every trip. You can't beat the price for the quality. If you wait to buy headphones at the airport you'll pay $40.00 for the worst knock off headphones that may work for an hour or two. Do yourself a favor and buy a couple pairs of these. I use them for yard work as well and the kids are always stealing them for zoom meetings now too. Every household should have a few of these.

    Horrible headphones

I bought these for my young daughter to distract her for her first plane ride. After opening the package and inserting these for the first time, the sound wouldn't work. I checked the volume on the iPad and it was on so I tried to pull the headphone jack out (not forcefully) and the jack stayed stuck in the iPad.

I contacted the manufacturer and they tried to blame me for their defective product being broken. After a few emails and convincing them that their defective product was to blame for the broken jack and not me yanking on the jack, as they put it. They agreed to replace the headphones, "As a one time courtesy".

I would not recommend buying these, nor would I ever buy these again myself.

P.S. Best Buy was not to blame for the horrible customer service, it was the manufacturers horrible customer service practices that I am referring too.

This headset is great value for the $

This is actually the second time I purchased this headset. My sister went with me and purchased one for herself, as well, based on trying out the one I already had. This headset is perfect for voice. That's primarily what I use my first one for. Until now, I have found it very difficult to find a headset in this price range which makes voice clear enough for me to understand people on the phone.

I plan to use this 2nd one for music and movies on the airplane when I travel. That's why I got the blue color, hoping it would be easier to see and harder to leave behind. I have listened to some music with it, and I think it's going to be fine for that purpose as well.

The first one I bought will stay home, so I got a black one, which is my preference. This one is going in my travel bag, so I don't have to worry about remembering to grab it when I go.

Thanks to Skullcandy for making a great product and to Best Buy for carrying it at a good price.

    Awesome Earbuds

The sound quality of Skullcandy Earbuds never ceases to amaze me. It is so much better having this option than overpaying for Bose or Beats brand Earbuds that sound exactly the same. The buds fit inside the ears comfortably, and the microphone works perfectly for telephone calls. I am very happy that Best Buy carries the Skullcandy brand.

Good, but I'm starting to have problems.

I bought these because the mic died in my 5-year old Skull Candy earbuds. These were working great until about a week or so ago. I've begun to get static in the left earbud, which is annoying because I use these exclusively for Web meetings. Not sure what I'll replace them with because I like the pads.

    Spectacular Headphones

These headphones were spectacular! First off, they came in a very unique package - which was awesome. It was sort of shaped like a book, with all the essentials inside (picture attached).

The headphone quality is great! They fit better in my ear than Apple Headphones, and the sound quality is the same, if not better. The headphones also have a control system on the right cord, for volume and play/pause, as well as a microphone for phone calls.

The headphones come with a nifty leather carrying case - which is a nice added bonus. Aside from the carrying case, they also include 8 different sized ear plugs.

I highly recommend these headphones, and I do not think they will disappoint! Extremely satisfied!

I found these earbuds that are triple drivers for in ear monitor use performing on the platform during church worship. They are so clear and all vocals and instrument sound so clear in their place. Didn't have to spend 300.00 or more.

Fell in love with music all over again

Fell in love with music all over again, Wow, for ear-buds, these play like some really nice over/on the ear headphones, better than most. The highs are clean, taking you right up to that point before it can hurt and just smoothly remain/fall, the mids are great, vocals come alive. The lows are good, not overwhelming, but definitely there for a pair of earbuds. Using on PC with Dolby Atmos for headphones. There is a sound-stage to these, especially when playing symphonies, if I’m the conductor, I can imagine right where all the sounds are, again, we’re talking about earbuds. But tried on many different genres of music, and I’m so impressed, it brings out the enjoyment factor and I’m really happy about that.

When on the smartphone (Samsung 8Plus), I do switch my setting for Dolby Atmos off, and turn on the UHQ upscaler and the Tube Amp Pro on in the settings. The music becomes alot warmer/softer/smoother, almost dream like, you could say, butter to my ears.

And how can I forget, the presentation box you receive everything in, just awesome, with a wide array of ear tip sizes, silicone and foam, and even a carrying magnetic little box to put them in. The cashier looked at the size of the box, and was amazed at the size of it for a pair of earbuds, and just kept looking at it. Some other manufactures should take note of this.

I have to give it a 5 star rating, for how I enjoy them, and the overall satisfaction of everything about them. From the fabric cable, to the L connector, sound and comfort. They simply fit my need for how I enjoy music. But for some who like bass to take over, well these do not do that. I find that these are a tad more in the high/mid ranges, with an adequate small dose of lows.

    Pleasantly surprised.

Good buds for the price. They come very neatly packaged and are well presented.

The sound is better than expected for a set of small earbuds. I combined them with a dac adapters and it brought the sound and detail on them even more.

Definitely a good purchase if you’re looking for an upgrade from your standards brands.

Also, it’s a no miss good seal on the amount and type of eartips that come with the rest of the package.

    Thanks for reading.

Best Sound at this price point!

I have listened to and owned many sets of earphones over the years, from $500 audiophile level to $20 throwaways. The 1More Triple Drivers sound much better than you would expect from an $80 set of earphones. The sound is very articulate, with a good bottom end that is not boomy. The build quality is excellent for the ear buds - sculpted metal with a premium look and feel. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the volume control - it is made of plastic and really looks and feels cheap. Everything else is top quality - even the packaging is top notch, with a really nice carrying case and multiples shapes & sizes of earpieces to fit just about anyone. Overall, if not for the mic/ volume control quality, these would have received a 5 star rating. I would still recommend them to someone looking for stellar audio performance - don't think you can get better sound for under $100!

    Not worth its price,

The design is not really comfortable. They feel heavy on the ear and you need to take them off at intervals.

If you are not an audiophile, and cannot really feel the difference in sound, I would say you can go for cheaper options.

The microphone and buttons are good though, I have not received any complaints about the other person not being able to hear me.

Super cute, expensive for the cheap material.

Cheap overall. The best part is the bow. The cord literally is bended awkwardly when packaged therefore it has bends and folds all over, its wrapped in thread that by day 2 starts to come apart. Soooo not worthe the price. Walmarts $10 headphones lasted her YEARS and this seems to last a few months at its best and i dont promise the cord to be in its best condition after the 1st month. Literally will attache pics of what i mean and it has 4 humps all over the court. Returned the 1st thinking it was defective and the 2nd pair did the SAME thing.

Good Comfort & Ease of Use

In my experience, JLabs Audio always does an impressive job producing headphones that are comfortable, convenient, and safe for kids to use. My son has been using the JBuddies Play Gaming Headset, but now that he spends hours a day wearing headphones due to remote learning (Thanks COVID), he needed something more comfortable than the on-ear design of the gaming headset.

The JBuddies Pro are wired and do not have Bluetooth functionality (like their gaming counterpart), but they do have a larger earcup that fits over the entire ear - making them more comfortable - especially for those with glasses. JLabs advertises the headset for kids 8 and up, but I can confirm they work well for ages 6 to adult (as I have worn them comfortably). There is almost no inward pressure from the headband. While this makes them more comfortable for long periods, it does also mean that they do not block out much ambient noise.

Just as with the gaming headset, both earcups fold inward to decrease their size for travel - although they do not come with any travel bag or case. The hinges are thick plastic which seem durable - but, the metal which holds the earcups to the headband could easily bend if they get crushed inside of a backpack, or sat on during travel.

I like the JBuddies Pro because I find great security in knowing that the volume cannot get above 85db. My son will often crank the volume up, so I personally don’t allow him to use any headphones that don’t limit the volume. It is refreshing to know that his ears are safe with the JBuddies.

For those who are a bit older, or need the volume just slightly louder, there is a hidden switch (on the inside of the right earcup - under the blue fabric) that will allow the max volume to reach 95db. Thankfully the switch is so well hidden that nobody would ever accidentally find it.

My son pointed out that the headphones do not have either a volume knob or the ability to mute (which would be useful for online chats). Luckily the pinhole microphone on the cable works well and he has had no major issues using them for his online classes.

For comfort and ease of use, the JBuddies Pro is the way to go.

If your kid wants Bluetooth functionality and a boom style mic, go with the JBuddies Play Gaming Headset.

Great kid headphones with volume limiter

These are great little headphones that are made for kids. They sound pretty good to me, although they don’t fit on my head, and my kid doesn’t complain and frankly, thinks they’re awesome. They’re at a great price point too, and make long car rides more bearable than having a tablet/game system blasting noise into the car on a long drive. I wish the audio cable was a bit longer, it’s surprisingly short, but admittedly, it hasn’t stopped by kid from being able to use them.

These are no frills kids headphones. They don’t have noise cancelling, but they do have a mic built in with a convenient mute button. My kid doesn’t use them to chat yet, but they’re nice to have in the event he needs it. But what is important is what’s built inside the ear cup. Don’t tell your kids, but there’s a volume limiter switch that limits how loud the volume is, which is perfect for young ears. Lord knows I listened to music too loud as a kid, and as a parent, it’s nice to see this feature built into the headphones. It’s set at a certain decibel range, but you can switch it to let in a little more volume if you’re in a loud environment.

In terms of build quality, they’re all plastic, so I’m not sure how long they’ll last, but I have to say, for $25 I’m impressed with the quality. They’ve already been dropped a few times and they’re no worse off.

They do fold up, but with ear cups, it doesn’t really save too much space. I wish there was a little travel bag for them but again, a soft bag won’t necessarily prevent any damage when the headphones are being carried in a kids bag with who knows what.

Bottomline, these are solid headphones for kids at a great price, with volume limiter that can give parents peace of mind that their kids’ hearing is protected from loud decibels of competing headphones.

    Solidly Made and Affordable

The JLAB JBuddies Pro over ear headset is an expansion to the JLAB lineup aimed directly at younger kids. My 2 kids (6 and 8) already had pairs of the JLAB JBuddies Studio on ear headphones that they got for Christmas from “Santa.” Knowing how well they liked their current headsets I decided to give the Pro over ear version a shot.

If you are picking these up in store then the packaging tells you everything you need to know about the headsets. This is necessary because there is no included documentation.

First off my kids tend to play Xbox and Wii U. Both feature 3.5mm headset ports on the controller (Xbox) and gamepad (Wii U). My favorite carryover from the JBuddies Studio is the right angle connector. This connector has been very resilient to daily use and abuse for 6+ months on 2 different headsets. They also use the same braided 3ft cable with inline mic control. The inline mic control is multi-functioned. 1 click to play/pause/answer/hang up, 2 clicks to skip the track forward, and 3 clicks to skip backwards. Unfortunately there is no mic control that allows you to mute/unmute. The earcups, while different from the standard JBuddies uses the same hinge and size adjustment layout. The hinge and adjustment are very easy for my kids to setup on their own, and it’s a robust enough design.

My oldest has been the primary wearer of the headphones. He likes the way they fit and is able to play for a decent amount of time with them on. I’ve never heard him complain about any comfort issues or difficulties. The earcups do a pretty nice job of blocking outside sounds (for better or worse if you are trying to get their attention). This is a good thing for my son who has some sensory issues that can cause him to overload a bit, so the ability of the headphones to block out the surrounding noise has been a positive for him.

Under the mesh of the right earcup you will find the volume limiter control. The options are to set the max volume at 85 or 95db. The Studio headphones didn’t have this option and were limited to 85db – which would sometimes cause issues if the room was too noisy. I have left the setting at 85db for right now partially because the headphones block outside noise well enough that the extra volume isn’t really needed.

Overall, I haven’t seen or heard of any issues from my kids while using the headphones. They seem to like the upgrade over the Studio headphones because they are a little more comfortable and block outside noise out. I like the headphones because I have enough history with JLAB products to know that these will likely hold up for quite a while. The Studios I bought back in December are still going strong and are in great condition, so I have no reason to believe the Pro’s won’t do at least that well. The only real downside is the lack of mic muting. I would really love for that to be included on something like this especially if kids plan to do online gaming or school. You don’t always want or need the mic.

    Kid and Parent Approved Headphones

The JLab - JBuddies Studio Pro Over-Ear Headphones are a great addition for anyone with kids. Think about all of the things that trouble you when buying/giving kids headphones and these JBuddies check almost every box. I’ll get into those in a second, but the best feature is the decibel regulator switch on the right ear. Being able to limit the volume is a huge win in protecting a kid’s ears. I tested this out before handing them over to my 9 year old daughter and I didn’t feel like the quality suffered at all with that regulator.

Let’s get back to the other good things about the JLab JBuddies headphones. Most kids tend to be rough on their headphones and things like the cord start to get worn. Well, the braided nylon cord here seems to be very well built and it’s tangle free which is a plus. It also comes with a built-in mic and switch for use with phone calls or music. I found myself having to review the documentation on the number of button clicks and the associated function so it’s going to take the younger kids a bit to learn them. However, it’s nice to know that it can be used to play, pause, go to the next or previous track, and answer or hang up on phone calls. I also wish it had a volume wheel or rocker, but I won’t hold it against this set.

Another great thing is the comfort of the earcups. I have worn some that are circular or oval and they can be a little uncomfortable with my ear shape. My daughter also mentioned that another brand’s kid headphones hurt her ears as well. It’s because that circular design is putting pressure on her ear. Well, these JBuddies have a design that’s specifically built with the shape of ears in mind. It’s pretty impressive that they were able to do this. I really liked the feel of that shape coupled with their “cloud foam” pads. My daughter agreed as well. She tested it out while using her tablet. She was watching videos and playing games. She never once complained about the feel and still felt good afterwards since there was no pressure on her ear.

Ultimately, the JLab - JBuddies Studio Pro Over-Ear Headphones are a sharp, kid approved addition to our household. They have a stylish look while also providing a safe but quality sound for kid entertainment. They look and feel durable while also providing an option to fold them up for more compact storage. I think most parents of young children will appreciate these.

    Perfect for road trips

I know they say these are for kids 8 years old and up, but my daughter is only 6, almost 7 and they're perfect for her. While sound is usually most important with headphones, most kids that age aren't exactly audiophiles, and care more about how comfortable or 'cool' things look over how they function.

These fit her head perfectly and she said they felt super comfortable. The first time she used them she watched a full-length movie and not once complained about the headphones hurting or anything like that. Plus these headphones are flatter to her head so they don't stick out much. This was a big deal for us since she complained about her 'cat-ear' headphones all the time because they stuck out so much and hit things.

The wire didn't get in the way at all either. She normally uses these with an iPad so she's close to it anyway. This is great for road trips too, because unlike her other wireless headphones, there's no fiddling around with settings getting the bluetooth to connect, or screams of "I can't hear anything" when the connection cuts out. Kids aren't exactly the most patient during road trips so these JLab headphones make things so much easier.

Finally we can talk about sound, and according to my daughter, "they sound good".

There is one other feature dealing with sound that these have, which is an important factor when choosing kids headphones, and that's preventing them from getting too loud. I like the fact that these don't just have one setting built in that limits the decibel level. The problem with those are that sometimes it's too quiet in loud environments. This has a nice hidden switch that you can change to allow for a little more loudness (still limited though). If I have one complaint, it's that this hidden switch has no type of marking or code anywhere to tell you which direction is the 85dB side and which is the 95 dB side. The only place I found any info on that is on the box itself. So you'll have to remember yourself, and it's weird because the higher volume setting is to the left.

Overall these are great headphones for kids and they won't break the bank, so you don't have to worry about them breaking expensive equipment. I can highly recommend these for anyone who needs a pair of headphones for their kid.

    Not bad for the price

I had my grandson (8 years old) try these out while he was gaming to see what he thought. They did not pass the 8-year-old test. The first thing we noticed is that the cord is short (36"). He plugged them in to the back of a tabletop all in one and he almost pulled the computer over when he sat back to play. He had to lean forward so as not to pull too hard.

He said the sound was decent. I found some sounds to have a "hollow" tone to them.

I do like the controls on the cord. You push the button and it will pause things you are listening to. I have used this feature with YouTube videos. The directions say that two clicks and three clicks should move you a track forward and a track backward but this did not work on YouTube or Spotify. Not sure what I would be listening to on my computer that this would work. No matter how many times I clicked the button, it would just pause and restart the music.

On the plus side, they are lightweight and comfortable.

I did not get a chance to try the microphone so I cannot attest to the quality of that.

The short cord really is an issue though. Even on my laptop, If I move it to the side to get up, the cord pulls on the headset. It really should be longer.

    These are just ok

My 12 year old son has been using these for a week and here are his initial impressions:

    1) Comfortable

    2) The ear cup design is better than circular head phones that he had before

    3) I like the volume limiter feature that won't let the sound go above a certain level (85 to 95 db)

The things that he didn't like are:

    1) The cord is too small

    2) The controls on the cord don't allow him to adjust volume, skip tracks etc.

Overall, we think these are ok for the sound, feature and comfort. There are other options in this price range which might be better.

Noise Cancelling. Perfect for sound sensitivity

These headphones have a very unique shape that ergonomically fits all ears. This is perfect for any kid with ears! The noise-canceling switch is cleverly hidden within the headphones so the kids don't mess with it. I love them and my daughter loves them too!

    Great Bare Bones Headphones

Fantastic budget pair of wired headphones. The material is durable, you’d have to actively be trying to break it to damage it. Sound quality isn’t audiophile- approved, but for the rest of us it certainly exceeds expectations. Personally I’ve only used these for playing videogames and listening to music while I work, however I have heard of multiple people using these for amateur music recording so that’s another possible use. My only gripe is that the ear cushions sometimes press on my ears and hurt a little, but only after using for extended periods.

    Works well, use them daily.

These are great headphones for listening to tuning fork and meditation recordings. Muffles or eliminates most ambient noise and are comfortable around the ears. I have a big head so the band is a tiny bit tight, but I don't have them on for more than an hour at a time and it hasn't been distracting. The cord is longer than I need and hard to contain, but also a minor issue. I'm glad I spent a bit more for these over the ear, higher quality headphones.

    Good Gaming Headphone!

I have been a fan of the JBL sound for decades and for my simple gaming and SKYPE, these fill a need at a reasonable price.

The quality of sound is truly geared for gaming not-so-much for music. A touch bass heavy and mid-range voice boost. Attributes for gaming. The sound with music is OK, but there are better options if music is the primary purpose.

Reasonably comfortable. Seals sound from the outside very well. No noticeable distortion. Competitive within the suggested price range. Recommended

    I like them.

I was looking for some headphones for work meetings, i.e. PC USB input.

    Pro's:

    - plug and play, immediately recognized by my computer

    - comfortable - not too loose, not too tight, ear cups are nice

    - crisp audio (as I mainly have used them for meetings, I can hear everyone just fine. The little music I've played has been perfectly good)

    - noise cancelling has been quite nice, in fact, I can't really even hear myself

    Cons:

    - not sure if I can list this as a con, but I'm not sure how quiet my mic is, I have my input levels at max, so they should be fine, Although the first few times I used them, i wasn't sure people could hear me. I adjusted the mic a bit and have had no issues since.

    Great for gaming

I absolutely love the sound quality and this is definitely worth the price. I also love how both sides swivel which is great when you're trying to adjust them to your head compared to other stationary ones that don't fit right. I would recommend this to others for gaming because the mic sensitivity is amazing.

    Great stocking stuffer

I bought a few of these as gifts for various members of the family as well as keeping one for myself just to try.

The metal covering is definitely a plus to ensure continued durability and is not found on even more expensive earbuds.

Sound is also surprisingly well done and is reminiscent of more expensive earphones I've had in the past.

All in all, I received all praise from the giftees for this earphone.

B Panther set has no sound control. Loud for kids

Not great for kids except for the size. I got the Black Panther version for my 5 year old. These do NOT have a sound dampener or a switch to regulate volume. They can go very loud so you have to monitor their listening. The headphones seem to be good quality and comfortable. Very nice other than the volume control. For the price I can definitely work with them.

Here's a mysterious issue I faced. I bought 20 of them but 5 of them were opened by someone before. The packets of those were damaged.

Another thing was when I scanned the barcode, it was showing ALIBABA. But it was supposed to show Bestbuy and there should be SKU and MODEL numbers with BestBuy sticker. This is so low from Bestbuy. They are making money by fooling us. Shame on you Bestbuy!

    For kids as described

I was trying to find some headphones for my niece, 7, and nephew, 4, so that they could use for as long as she has them without needing to "upgrading". There were too many difficulties while trying to find standard over-ear, on-ear, and in-ear headphones that fits them just right while keeping the overall quality.

After reading some reviews, I bought these and tried them out for myself. Their overall build isn't too bad. They're easy enough to adjust to fit, the cord can't get tangled easily (unless it was on purpose), and they look nice on kids. Sounds on these headphones are okay. The maximum sound is just right for young kids so they won't have any difficulties with hearing in the future.

I'll buy my niece and nephew better sounding headphones when they get older. I wouldn't recommend these for teens or adults if you want better overall sound.

    Pretty Good Overall

I bought this for my daughter because of distance learning. The work great and help keep out the background noise from her 3 year old brother. One thing is you must press the button on the headphones while on the webcam. Otherwise they will not be able to hear you.

    Perfect for 5-YO Son's Head (w/Microphone!)

I needed something for my 5-year old (granted he has a larger head than most and my husband said to just let him use one of ours). But then two days before school was supposed to start, we get an email that it also has to have a microphone!

    This is perfect for him.

-There's a volume regulator so I don't have to worry about it damaging little ears.

-It folds compactly, so it doesn't take up too much space on his little desk.

-It comes in blue (my son said to mention it's his favorite color, although he wishes it was even MORE blue).
