OMG i love the power, quality, and design. Well worth the money as long as my wife never dings out.
Nov 03, 2021 10:47OMG! Still experimenting with set up. It does EVERYTHING. You won’t find a better all in one solution anywhere. I was going to go with separates which I realize is the way to go for a real audiophile experience but I watch a lot of movies in my time off and listen to music constantly and on a small budget this AVR so far exceeds all my expectations. Plenty of power, vast amount of controls and plays every format. Hooked up to my wireless in seconds, Bluetooth works flawlessly. A child could do initial setup. I steam my music from my iPhone from bed and the unit plays in any zone I select from the Marantz app. I read bad reviews of the app but works fine for me. The realism of Diana Kralls voice, the attack and tone of Dave Weckls drums sounds like they’re in my living room LIVE.
Use good cables and invest in speakers. SVS Pinnicles and SB 3000 sub sound insane. I bought a component fan sits on top but the unit really doesn’t run that hot. Hot should absolutely be vented but not crazy. LOOKS fantastic. I also read reviews that Marantz needs a facelift ascetically, you judge I think it perfect. Copper bottom toroidal amp and connections for wides, sides , ceiling and atmos 2 subs, phono preamp forget about it! You cannot buy separates , at least not my standard for 3100$, so the SR8015 solved all my issues! I’m not a gamer but there is 8K in ,2 outs and there is a software update coming that is future forward for gamers. Unit is insane spring for it!
Jan 08, 2021 20:09Excellent receiver!! Lots of power and excellent sound. Handles my Klipsch speakers like a champ.
Jul 30, 2021 15:53I've owned quite a few home theater receivers in my day and I've always been disappointed with the performance. I'd never felt like any of them produced sounds that seemed cinematic. However....this Marantz is superb! The sound comes at you from all directions. Perhaps I wasn't spending enough money as this receiver was quite a bit more than I've spent in the past. If you can afford it you won't regret it.
Oct 01, 2021 17:21I bought it some time ago and wanted to wait some time to share my review. After unboxing and initial setup, when in the Setup menu (when in Speaker Setup or Speaker config) the Back button does not work, you press it and does not go back to prior menu, you have to press setup to leave and return to where you were, did not put much into it because I like the receiver and is my first Marantz, but in 2021, in this receiver that issue with the menu is unexpected and still does it to this day. Now lately the Tv screen image glitches from time to time (not the HDMI 2.1) when listening to music via HEOS playback, it is kind of concerning, never did it before. I've enjoyed it and I do still enjoy it but hopefully these two issues i am experiencing get corrected via a firmware update. I work the unit at 86degrees (Aircom T10 on top) to take care of it
Aug 27, 2021 20:35It only has ONE hdmi 2.1 port and despite what is advertised 4k120hz is not working. A new hardware fix is coming but no news on when and how much it will cost.
Apr 23, 2021 15:17I would give a 5 star but I have already had an issue with the HDMi port. Not exactly what I would expect for a $3500 receiver. We will see how this goes. I like Marantz but hopefully do not have any more issues.
Jun 25, 2021 15:40This receiver is everything that I wanted and needed in setting up my home theater. It's amazing how the sound fills the room with power and clarity.
Jul 05, 2021 20:05Stream smartphone or tablet playlists through a wired component with this Rocketfish Bluetooth audio receiver. Digital optical and stereo analog outputs support various speakers, and Bluetooth 5.0 technology provides a reliable connection for high-quality sound within a 100-foot range. This Rocketfish Bluetooth audio receiver has NFC support and eight-device memory for easy pairing with various portable audio sources.
Very good little inexpensive Bluetooth receiver, sounds great, it does have some limited distance but overall a very good little Bluetooth unit and I've tried many others. As you can see I use it with all vintage audio gear.
Jun 05, 2021 00:36I got to this for my TV so i could use my headset I already had. When i connected it to my TV which was easy by the way it worked the way i wanted it instantly. I couldn't imagine it working better. Its like a wireless headphone jack for my TV.
Aug 05, 2021 00:38Do you want to listen to music on your phone through your home amp? If so, look no further. This is incredible and easy to hook up. Connects easily and maintains clear audio. I listen to music and pod casts in my office through a Reciever that is relatively new but didn’t have the Bluetooth option. Absolutely one of the best things to let the tunes and podcast steam through your home.
Feb 05, 2021 15:48Sounds great. Limited range but for a small space this is a great solution. Use it with my old school stereo. Fisher amp and Technics K9 speakers. APTX-HD is worth it!
Apr 03, 2020 20:37Successfully converted my 35-year old receiver into a bluetooth receiver. Love it. Got rid of my Sirius XM receiver - I just stream through my phone. Sound quality is slightly muted, but adjusted manually with tuner controls. Range not as advertised - about 30 feet but extendable. Easy set-up.
Oct 16, 2021 07:43Works as advertised. The unit is small, unobtrusive, and easy to set up allowing me to enjoy music streaming on my older stereo system.
Nov 27, 2021 18:13So this has limited volume but not as bad as the no name stuff. So their is a noticeable drop in volume compared to if you play the cd or radio. But I've had worse adaptors for bluetooth off ebay for a bit less that i regretted buying. This i didn't regret buying.
Nov 19, 2021 16:17We can finally keep our old receiver for our in-house speaker system. Modernized the equipment we have had for years. Super simple to use!

I purchased this as a replacement to our first remote. While durable, the other bent in half after getting stuck inside a piece of furniture. We've since upgraded to the newer 4K Apple TV, but the old remote is user-friendly and I much prefer this one. Relieved that Apple still sells these so we could replace it!
Dec 19, 2018 09:02The only thing I have to say is that this remote control is exactly like the one I lost before and work just fine
Dec 22, 2017 18:26I am an apple fan ☺️
Love the products
Love the Best Buy , because of there best customer service.
Feb 25, 2017 21:17I actually bought it before they always have it on stock
Mar 14, 2018 23:21Good service had great experience well customer service
Apr 28, 2017 18:12This remote doesn't work with older models of Apple TV boxes that also used the identical silver remote. The in store associates assured me that it would work.
Aug 25, 2018 13:04We panicked when we couldn’t find our Apple remote and this one filled the spot. Thank goodness for replacements! Saved the day!
Nov 19, 2021 17:37Original Apple remote was always so easy to use but be careful you may lose it since it’s so small lol but it’s great
Nov 17, 2021 09:56Have one of our professional installers connect and configure your A/V receiver or processor to your audio or video source. We'll also connect your device to your existing wireless network (if Wi-Fi compatible), configure your speaker settings and help you set up 2 subscription services.
Great service. Geeks were very professional. Properly coveredup due to coronavirsus. Answered any questions that I presented to them while in my home.
Dec 07, 2021 09:19Professional and courteous staff. I never thought I would buy the annual Geek Squad plan yet I am so glad we did. We have used them for numerous things and we have saved a ton.
Dec 06, 2021 19:21Time delay in getting all issues resolved. Think this has more to do with scheduler/qualfied help availability than anything else. I now realyze that a more qualified person would have approached our issues differently perhaps saving us money. My responsibility is that I needed to perhaps seek out the more qualified person.
Dec 06, 2021 10:50This never happened due to the in-home consultant making a purchasing mistake that cost me two days of work.
Dec 04, 2021 19:19great customer service and outstanding in setting up my new computer
Dec 04, 2021 14:02The agents were efficient in their work. Outstanding customer service!
Dec 04, 2021 12:55Agent's professional courteous, and fast. Nice clean up too!
Dec 04, 2021 08:36The agents determined that they could not complete the order due to the age of one of the devices and canceled the work order and canceled the charges.

Bought this to swap with my SR7011 Marantz since my wife said that was too big for our entertainment center. This receiver works powers my SVS Primes with no issue and the sound stage is just as good as the larger receiver. It has all the same primary features and fits wonderfully into the entertainment center.
Jan 03, 2020 18:13I bought this unit as a replacement of my Yamaha RX A750, which, itself is a pretty good device, especially after its last firmware update.
Still, the A750 didn't pass through Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos or DTS-X and the Marantz NR1710 did.
The set-up was the best I have ever seen. It really walks you through the process with superb graphucs and explanations.
Since I didn't want to give up my 7.1 speaker configuration, the option to set the NR1710 to virtual Atmos and virtual DTS-X was a clincher. And how good is the "virtual" option? I love it. It adds enormously to the overall sound space and allows me to run all 7 speakers.
The sound is fantastic with 6 speaker test zones easily demonstrated by clear, friendly graphics. I have never heard such clear sound dispersment as I have with the NR1710.
The only issue I have is in the hiding of graphics for Pandora, Alexa etc. services. I'm still searching for this feature and icons. I mean this stuff is a no-brainer. The icons should be visibly present. They are not. Also the HELOS offerings are a real pain. It's not helpful when I get stations that I am not interested in ever listening to. All these helpful suggestions should go, allowing the user to select either their own music format or pay service, like Pandora. OK, enough of that.
This receiver is one of the best sound systems I have owned, going back 50 years to my twenties.
The remote is easy to use and the "Options" feature opens up a great interface, with easy drop-down selections which are a pleasure to use.
Lastly, the slim design fits nicely in my cabinet, which most of the large frame receivers don't do.
So, there you have it. Since I use this receiver stricly for home theater, all the other features, blah, blah, blah, mean nothing to me.
Jan 17, 2020 21:33I purchased this AVR for a bedroom HT setup for when I want to move my to my Bedroom from the Great Room and still have a great musical and or TV experience prior to retiring for the night. I also have an Arcam AVR 850 which was 5 times as much and nothing but problems. I have to say this little AVR does as good of a job sonicaly as the Arcam AVR 850. I am going to sell the AVR 850 and purchase another one of these for my great room but utilize separate amplifiers being this is a bit underpowered for large rooms. I just don't see any reason to spend $$ of dollars to get great HT and music performance out of an electronic devices.
Jan 27, 2020 12:30Nice little receiver. Works great with no issues. Has all the bells and whistles in a small chassis. Only down 1 star because the phono input has no low end to speak of when hooked to my marantz TT15. Added a vincent 701 and its all back. This phono stage is no doubt an after thought.
Apr 03, 2021 09:37Part of the order was for headphones to be used with the receiver. Problem is that the receiver does not work with the headphones (analog v digital) so we are waiting for this to be resolved. Otherwise, the receiver is great. We are hoping to fix the problem by getting a newer model of the receiver.
Dec 05, 2020 15:29Took me a little while to setup the first time but once I sat down and spent a little time figuring it out I was very impressed. Fit perfectly in my entertainment centrr5
Feb 05, 2021 15:50Probably overkill for anyone unless you're really a sound freak. I like it, but probably didn't need so much.
Oct 02, 2020 16:20I chose the Marantz 7.2 Channel 4K HD AV Receiver Model NR1710 to be the new receiver for my Home Theater System and as usual I researched and shopped receivers that would compliment my other Home Theater System components. This unit is rated at 50 watts per channel at 8 ohms and has all the newest features allowing it to communicate with my Home Theater System components via HDMI connectivity. It also has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities to connect your smartphone and other sources wireless. The unit has a low profile stance at 4.25" high giving it a sleek look from the front of the chassis but is a well built solid unit weighing at around 19 pounds. The receiver has been passing-through all my HD 4K content from their sources beautifully. It's a very feature rich unit with a included remote controlling all of the usual optional features including the pleasant onscreen display menu. If you're looking for a new 7.2 Channel 4K HD Receiver for a medium to large size room and optional zone coverage with the newest features to control the pass-through signals from your sources to your television and speakers I would highly recommend this unit and with a three year warranty backing it up from the manufacturer the value of the unit is fairly priced.
The NR1710 has been a great addition and companion for my other 4K HD capable Home Theater System components and to enjoy many of the benefits this receiver has to offer make sure your component sources such as a 4K HD Blu-Ray Player, Cable Box, etc. are capable of passing-through the encoded Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, Dolby Digital/HD, DTS-X etc. signals from your favorite Cable TV shows or all HD Blu-Ray Disk movies to this receiver to appreciate and enjoy the newest streaming features that can be passed-through to your television and attached surround sound speakers.
The Marantz NR1710 Receiver is capable of passing-through the audio and video signals from 4K HD sources by using the required 4K HD HDMI High Speed with Ethernet Cables rated at 18 Gbps for two way communication. I recommend connecting all the audio and visual component sources of your Home Theater System with the shortest HDMI cables possible for your setup configuration just to secure the strongest and purest signals delivered throughout all the components.
Oct 19, 2019 19:02Get wireless surround sound with this Rocketfish wireless rear speaker kit. The wireless sender and receiver transmit high-quality audio from your home theater receiver to your rear speakers over a radio frequency communication link. This Rocketfish wireless rear speaker kit is easy to set up and gives you surround sound without the tangle of cables.
This works like a charm! I bought this to move two klipsch speakers into the kitchen and it works great! The best part is that my wife has been asking me for years to do this. Should’ve done it sooner. Ah well... happy wife happy life...
Nov 01, 2020 17:21Finally opened up the kit today, 6/30/20 only to find a plastic button on the back of the sender broken. Essentially it cannot clamp down to hold one of the speaker wires down. Sorely disappointed. Shame on me for not checking it sooner as it's the first open-box product here that has let me down.
Jun 30, 2020 23:06I was looking for speaker wire for extra set of speakers to achieve 7.1 sound and found this item. Figured I would try it and worse case would return it. So far very happy with this as we didn’t to want to run speaker wire behind couch as it would be visible. prior to this my rat speakers were on either side of couch which made for a distorted surround sound since they were too close to the couch due to a lack of floor space for optimal surround sound. With this addition the 7.1 surround dispersed sound better throughout room using this device and an extra set of rear speakers. Everything sounds better and I’ve tested the speakers between each movie and haven’t ran in to any issues with the transfer to these speakers with this wireless device. I’ve given this a four star rating as I paid full price and it hasn’t gone on sale for price matching yet and they are working too well for me to bring myself to return them. Yes I would recommend as a wireless rear option.
Jul 28, 2019 15:38Works better than my previous Sony S-Air which it replaced (old receiver died, Sony no longer makes S-Air). Able to get more than adequate volume from my rear speakers without the need to run wire. The package contains 2 ft wires for connecting the sending unit to the AV receiver so I tried to find the dimensions of the sending unit to see if it could sit on top of my AV receiver without blocking the ventilation grill. Yes, it could. The sending uinit is 5” wide, 3” deep, and 1.5” high (see photo). The enclosed 2 foot wires are pretty thin and is likely suitable only if your AV receiver has the spring loaded clips for attaching the surround rear speakers. But at least the ends of the 2 ft wires are already stripped. Both sending and receiving units have the spring loaded clips for attaching speaker wire. Set up was easy and intuitive - but the instructions are pretty clear if you need them. Just be sure you read the part about ensuring the two units are communicating with each other. A solid blue light on each unit means link established. Blinking light on either of them requires using the connect button on the sending unit to establish communication. Because the units need to communicate with each other, best to not try to stuff the units out of sight. Also, works better if the volume knob on the receiving unit is turned all the way to high and to then let your AV receiver control the volume.
Dec 08, 2018 10:14I was going back and forth between this and the Amphony wireless kit. I ended up going with this one from the reviews. I plugged them in and they worked right out of the box so I did not have to connect them. It works great connected to my klipsch R-51M. The reviews saying the volume is to low did not give me an issue. I actually had to turn them down some to match the sound then I did a sound calibration with my AVR. I am using to thick speaker wire (10awg) for these but I trimmed the wires a little to make them fit. The units themselves are plasticky and cheap feeling but I'm ok with it if the wireless and amp out work great, which they do. They both have power switches on the units but unless you physically turn them off they stay on all the time. I have had no issues in my first week with it at all. I have had no connection issue or it fighting my wifi.
Dec 07, 2019 21:18I have always enjoyed having a fairly large flat panel TV on the wall in our living room for casual viewing. And with a nice entertainment console below it, I could easily run a center with left/right main speakers and conceal the connecting speaker cables with no problem. But running exposed wires around the base boards or under rugs was going to cause a problem for placing a pair of rear channel speakers on either side of the main couch opposite the TV since a fireplace sits along one sidewall and the other is open to a hallway. That is where having a wireless speaker kit like this one can be most helpful.
This system includes two relatively small and unobtrusive matched units. You will need to have AC power at both ends to make this work. I fortunately already had an extension cord run under the couch for two end table lights.
Setting up the wireless sending unit to the main AVR unit up front was very simple. You should be aware that this system replaces the physical wire you'd normally use for connecting two rear channel speakers. There are no RCA connections on the back, only speaker cable terminals. So I connected speaker wire from the rear channel speaker terminals on my AVR to the left and right speaker terminals on the back of the wireless sending unit. I then placed it on top of my subwoofer that was nearby, facing the couch (NOTE: the system comes with two very short lengths of speaker wire. I highly suggest you plan to have enough of your own speaker wire as you will need it to connect the back speakers as well as the front to the respective units).
Next I placed two speakers I already owned for the rear channels on either side of the couch and connected them with speaker wire to the receiving unit that I placed under the couch. Finally, I connected both the sender and receiver units to AC power. Turning both units on I found that they both immediately connected and began glowing with the blue power light lit on both of them that meant they were operational and ready to go. The instructions were very simple to follow so it was a pretty painless install process.
The last thing I had to do was determine how high to set the power/volume on the receiving unit. This is not a particularly powerful system, but it has plenty of onboard power to drive almost any pair of rear channel speakers for most applications. Since my AVR has a room calibration system on board, I turned the power control knob all the way up on the receiving unit so it could get all the power it should need for our room size (about 15 by 20 room). I then managed the overall speaker volume of each speaker through the calibration process at the AVR.
So far it has been a couple of months of continual operation and the system has worked perfectly. The signal is rock solid between the two units, with no dropouts. I am very pleased with how dependably this wireless system has performed especially based on my experiences with other wireless speakers. I have no regrets at all with this purchase. It is a great option if you cannot run an actual solid wire connection for your rear channel speakers.
Mar 09, 2019 15:55I wanted to install a set of height speakers on my rear wall but didn't want pay for wiring through my attic just yet. I picked up this wireless speaker kit and lo and behold it does work very well. Once the rear speakers were wired into the receiver module and the transmitter was hooked into the appropriate speaker terminals on my receiver, the two units paired instantly. I had full sound from the rear heights. There are some mild pops when I change sources on the receiver and the Audyssey room calibration keeps indicating a phase problem which isn't true and can be ignored. Outside of these minor issues, the system does its job.
Nov 13, 2021 15:36Have not got to use this yet. I bought it but my office was arranged in a way that i didnt need this anymore, but i still kept it because i had one of these some time ago. It is still in the packaging since 2018, but i know one day i will use it. The one i had before worked flawlessly and connected very easily. Great, useful, and convenient product to have when setting up your speaker surround system.
Nov 19, 2021 21:41Enable wireless audio streaming with wired AV devices using the MEE audio Connect Hub Bluetooth transmitter/receiver. In transmitter mode, the Connect Hub lets you transmit TV audio to up to two Bluetooth wireless headphones for private listening, or Bluetooth speakers for enhanced audio playback. With a built-in audio pass-through, the Hub even lets your soundbar or home theater share your TV’s audio connection for maximum flexibility. In receiver mode, the Connect Hub lets you stream audio from your phone or other Bluetooth device to a stereo system, sound bar, or other wired audio component.
Use this for my song headset and woojer vest together for no wires and comfort when I’m gaming!
Jan 22, 2021 16:03This MEE audio-Connect Hub audio Transmitter and Receiver was hooked up to our TV entertainment system to allow us to use our Bose wireless headphones alone or in conjunction with our Sonos system. My husband has hearing aids and while watching a movie, he finds listening through the Bose makes the sound clearer allowing him to enjoy the movie more. I also use the Bose headphones alone (by turning the sound down on our Harmony Remote) to watch TV after he goes to bed. The tech who hooked up our system needed to connect through our cable box, which remains on all the time; so we would not need to turn on the hub every time we wanted to use the headphones. We have it sitting on top of our Sonos bar to ensure the signal remains constant regardless of where we are sitting.
Mar 27, 2021 07:34This item may be a bit pricey, but in my opinion, it is worth the money. It provides excellent dual bluetooth connectivity for my bedroom television, and its low-profile design does not light up the room.
Dec 26, 2020 17:53Excellent product although a little pricey. Comes with everything needed for most hookups. Easy to setup and use. I'm using this on a receiver in a secondary room for occasional use. This unit has built in voice prompts. I would buy this product again.
May 08, 2021 13:43This Bluetooth transmitter works great for hooking up headphones to the tv while I exercise! Or just don’t want to bug others while watching tv! simple to use, three ways to use it! I'm using the optical hook-ups for my LG TV.
Aug 21, 2018 14:05Glad I spent a little more. Premium quality product. So very easy to set up. Be sure you let it charge up for awhile after you plug it into your power receptacle.. No lag and excellent sound transfer. I use it with a small Bose Sound Link and the sound on our TV is now amazing. Highly recommended.
Oct 31, 2018 02:06I purchased this product online and the store had it ready within a couple of hours for pick up. I took it home and had it up and running in no time. Easy to install to my noise canceling headphones and are great for watching tv. I recently had hearing damage and needed an extra help in the hearing department while waiting to get a doctor appointment!
Oct 20, 2021 06:15I bought a cheap Black Friday TV and didn't realize that it didn't have bluetooth capabilities. I bought this device so I can connect my headphones. I specifically wanted this model with the passthrough function since I use a soundbar as well. It works great for my needs and was easy to set up. Once plugged in, it stay on all the time so I only need to turn on my headphones to connect and don't need to press any buttons on this device. I have 2 headphones paired to it and they both work at the same time. The only downside is that it seems like there is a half second delay between the picture and the sound. I'm not sure if that's due to my cable or if this device causes a lag. But its not too noticeable so I can live with it. I can change the lag on my TV but it will then throw off the timing with my soundbar, which I use more frequently so i don't mess with it.

Aluratek - Bluetooth Wireless Audio Extender – Black
---HIGHLIGHTS---
Long Range and Reliable Signal, Bluetooth 5.0 (apt x, apt x HD, apt x low latency), Easy to Operate, Capability to Connect Two Devices Simultaneously, Bluetooth Transmitter and Receiver
---DESIGN and CONTROLS---
I found using this device to be very easy to figure out. The first step is to plug it in using the included 9-foot micro USB cable. Then connect the desired audio cable (optical or 3.5 mm).
There are two main modes: Transmission (TX) and Receiver (RX). Once you decide what mode you want to use, you set the selector switch to the desired mode.
Illuminated lights indicate the mode, input, and signal being received.
I am mostly going to be using this device in transmission mode to stream sound to my Sony WH-1000XM3 wireless headphones from an older Denon receiver that sounds great but lacks Bluetooth capability. I am using a 1/4 to 3.55 mm audio adapter and was relieved that it worked because not all devices are compatible with adapters.
There is a third bypass mode that allows this device to function as an audio converter without using the Bluetooth function.
Included Accessories: Optical Cable, 3.5 mm Audio Cable, 9 Foot Micro USB Charging Cable, RCA to 3.5 mm Y Cable
---USE AND PERFORMANCE---
Once I put this device and my wireless headphones in pairing mode they connected instantaneously. Once paired, they both connected immediately every subsequent time that I used them. Once connected the pairing was rock solid and reliable. Two pair a second set of headphones was as simple as pairing the first.
The sound quality was not only excellent, but also completely lag free. I could not tell the difference between listening wirelessly as opposed to listening wired on my Sony Headphones. The advanced apt x codecs will really make a difference if your headphones are apt x compatible.
I immediately noticed the impressive signal strength and range of this Bluetooth transmitter. It is advertised as up 100 feet, and very impressively I had no problem receiving a signal anywhere in my two-story house.
I am not going to use the Receiver mode at this time, but appreciate that it has the capability.
---BOTTOM LINE---
Get this device if you want the very best Bluetooth performance that is out there. Yes it is expensive, but it has the premium performance, range, and versatility to match the price. The transmitter in this device has at least double (maybe triple) the range of any other Bluetooth device that I have used.
The superb sound quality and capability to use two pairs of wireless headphones at the same time, makes this my new favorite device!
Jun 13, 2019 15:04Long distance Bluetooth communication.
Set up fairly simple. I use mine to transmit to my headphones, but a second pair can receive the signal as well. I performed a range test by going outside to the farthest point in my yard. I concur it can transmit the 100-feet listed in the specs.
The Aluratek Bluetooth has inputs say from your TV or computer that can be used to add a Bluetooth transmitter to a device that doesn't have one built in.
But it can also receive Bluetooth audio. Say from your phone or laptop to an amplifier in the garage with attached speakers. Dual purpose.
Okay, the only bad thing I have to say is why not supply a power brick? You are forced to find a USB power source, be it your laptop or another power brick or charger that the USB cable can be plugged into. The cord they supply is plenty long.
For what it is designed to do, the Aluratek xmitter/receiver will do the job, clearly and without any latency in the video to audio sync.
Jun 22, 2019 16:09The Aluratek - Universal Bluetooth Audio Receiver and Transmitter is amazing ! It provides incredible flexibility in its input and output selection for audio.
I have an older high end Alesis THX certified speaker system in my office that was made for use with computers. Because it's older, it presented some challenges with respect to connectivity problems with my iPad or iPhone. With this unit I can get a high-quality input signal transfer via Bluetooth and then send it to my system via a digital optical out and I get an incredible sound reproduction through the Alesis system. Wow, it's amazing and easy to hook up and like I said it sounds great !
Mar 07, 2021 15:51This little device saved my stereo receiver from going the attic where all unused devices go to die. I can play audio from my phone on my stereo in RX mode and hear my TV audio in bypass mode. You can also listen to audio through a 3.5 mm jack or Bluetooth headphones in TX mode, but I have no need for that. I haven’t noticed any loss in audio quality from either input; I have excellent speakers and the audio sounds great. The Bluetooth pairing was simple and the device doesn’t automatically connect to your phone every time you’re nearby, therefore it doesn’t interfere with using other Bluetooth devices. It’s very light and I had to manipulate it and the cables to make it sit flush to the shelf.
The package comes with a 3.5mm cable, RCA cables, a micro USB cable (no wall adapter and works well with my 5V 2A adapter) which isn’t mandatory as long as it’s sufficiently charged according to the manual, and a RCA Y cable. This device has everything you need to get set up. I ended up using all of them for my setup.
Here’s some background info:
I have a vintage JVC receiver that I love that only accepts RCA and CompuLink input. I needed a solution that would allow my receiver to accept the optical output of my LG TV (which as of 2019 is the only audio output, to my dismay) as well as Bluetooth audio.
I searched online and nice of the solutions were both low profile and provided the in/outputs that I need. I didn’t think Best Buy would have this device because it’s more of a niche item. Surprisingly, they had it! I’m fact, my local store just opened back up from the lockdown and they had it in stock! The associates in the store didn’t even understand what was for... In any event, I love it and it does exactly what I need we’ll.
Jul 04, 2020 11:10Tested on an older TV and a newer smart tv. This device works better than I anticipated. Easy to use and understand. It works great with two headsets paired.
It has long range, I can walk from the living room to the back room and still hear the tv.
There is no latency! The audio runs perfectly in sync with the screen.
I did my research when looking for a good Bluetooth transmitter and it lead me to this device. In my opinion, Best bang for your buck.
Jul 09, 2021 21:29I don’t know many cases in this day and time that pushing audio wirelessly would be considered a bad thing. In fact, we almost expect our devices to have this functionality built in, allowing seamless streaming of audio to various devices. There are cases where this functionality doesn’t exist, and that’s where Aluratek’s Universal Bluetooth Audio Receiver and Transmitter comes in.
Having used an older model of this device in the past, I felt both comfortable and happy about this device before even opening it. The package is very unassuming and should be categorized as plain. Handling the device reveals decent build quality, giving a feeling of a sturdy device. It doesn’t have that premium feel, but it isn’t cheap either. Aluratek includes just about everything you need to get the device up and running. There are connectivity cables (3.5mm, RCA, and optical cables) and a USB cable for power and charging. Device setup is a simple, and I found it easy to connect Bluetooth devices – I do have experience in this area.
This device performs phenomenally as a Bluetooth transmitter, putting out stereo sound to a maximum of 2 devices simultaneously. The signal is very strong with a decent level of penetration and distance. The stream quality is excellent. I experienced no sound loss or interference issues. One of the few issues I have is the inability to stream surround sound. You can connect an optical cable to the Aluratek, but it only transmits stereo. The device also works as a receiver, so you can use it to push sound to devices that don’t have wireless connectivity – older stereo units, powered speaker additions, etc. Whether receiving or transmitting, the Aluratek performs admirably, and with a built in battery, it lends to flexibility in specific use cases. Actually, the battery makes this device more travel friendly, in my opinion. I find such devices are wonderful in situations like watching TV in bed to keep from disturbing a partner, or isolating a specific sound when others are engaged in something completely different.
Overall, I have to call this a can’t miss product. It’s one of those things that I feel nearly everyone should have available at their disposal. Some may use such a device more than others, but the ability to push any audio source to a Bluetooth stream in any direction is much more than a nice to have!
Jul 17, 2019 11:45I bought this Aluratek Bluetooth receiver/transmitter so I could watch movies at night with my Bluetooth headphones. It works great. It can link with up to two Bluetooth headsets. Just know that if you want to link up more than two Bluetooth headsets, you will need to buy additional units and split the signal to go into each unit.
Note: This unit also has a bypass feature (an optical, aux adapter), so for example, if you have a tv with an optical audio output, but you want to run the signal to a speaker with only an aux input, this unit can conveniently act as an adapter for your cables.
Dec 06, 2021 22:00Have a receiver without bluetooth, but way too nice to get rid of. Read all the reviews (mixed), and took a chance. Works well for me. Not quite wired-CD quality, but better than radio, and I can stream from my phone, and music silences with incoming calls, nice. Works well for my studio space, haven't tried big distances, and probably won't need to. Good value.
Dec 15, 2021 13:53Stream audio from your TV wirelessly with this Bluetooth audio transmitter and receiver. You can stream to one Bluetooth headset or two headsets and/or Airpods simultaneously. Enjoy freedom to walk around while listening to up to 33 feet away. Receiver function allows you to bluetooth enable an audio device and stream to that device from a bluetooth phone or tablet. Features include RCA/3.5mm analog audio inputs for compatibility with a variety of TVs and other devices, dual headphone / speaker connectivity.
Dream come true!!!! I have been hunting for a way to give life back to my IPod Classic. I have spent YEARS filling it with over 100GB’s of music. And now with Audiophile level Bluetooth wireless technology I was wanting to go back and enjoy some music that I don’t have anywhere else but on this device!!! Pairs easily, and unlike some other products like this, it DOESN’T limit the output volume!!! I am so happy!!
Feb 20, 2021 14:01I'm not a huge fan of newer Bluetooth earbuds it headsets because they cause too much of a seal from the world. ( If that doesn't bother you though, check out pretty much anything from Anker )
I purchased these to use in conjunction with my Koss on the ear headsets and three newest Google Chromecast with Google TV so that I can listen to content that is being streamed.
These work wonderfully as a receiver. I have not yet tried as a transmitter but I would think that the performance would be the same or similar.
Aug 29, 2021 20:57Can’t complain at all! I originally bought it for my stereo receiver to use it as a Bluetooth option but I never realized that it doubles as a transmitter either and you can use ANY headphones including AirPods to listen to the tv in a more quiet setting! Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to convert something older and bring it up to date with Bluetooth!
May 18, 2020 14:27I purchased this largely in part because a feature on the Aluratek website stated it would turn off 5 minutes after a device was disconnected. This would help prolong battery life!! THERE IS NO AUTO TURNOFF. I emailed the company, providing screen shots and they simply said, must have been a typo error on the website. No apology whatsoever. I will be returning this item.
Sep 26, 2017 14:09Product did not work for my car
Do not buy for car audio
Jul 24, 2019 18:40Small fits everywhere and powerful great device ..!
Dec 16, 2017 06:12Aluratek wireless tx and rx device was flexible and easy to configure. Connect iPod or I Phone to older hard wired stereo devices or connect older stereo devices to newer wireless headphones and vise versa. Very easy to install and links up seamlessly every time! See Pictures as installed to both RCA inputs or Headphone output from my Old School Boombox. Also have one hooked to my whole house audio input on my home stereo which I connect to both my iPhone and PC for unlimited musical applications.
Feb 24, 2018 13:59I purchased this for an older smart tv so that Bluetooth headphones could be used to listen to it privately.
Pros: it is both a transmitter and a receiver, it includes a red/white Y-style RCA cable adapter as well as a standard aux plug, it charged quickly with the included usb charging cable, it has a separate power button, and it was very easy to set up and pair.
Cons: the volume was very limited and low, requiring the volume on the Aluratek and both the headphones and tv/cable to be at max to listen comfortably (loud volume is impossible. Audio quality is just passable. Additionally, the battery life is unknown and the price is quite high.
If this unit was priced at $25 or less, it would be much more reasonable; $42.50 is really an exorbitant amount particularly for an item that lacks high quality audio fidelity.
Jul 08, 2018 18:33Aluratek iStream Universal Bluetooth Audio Receiver: Easily add Bluetooth capability to your existing stereo system or speaker dock using this receiver, which lets you wirelessly stream audio from your Bluetooth-enabled device from up to 33 feet away and remembers up to 6 paired devices.
Super cool receiver for new iPhones or any other device
It Bring to a life again my old bose speakers
The best part is you don’t have to buy a new Bluetooth speakers
Jun 21, 2019 18:43It’s working very good so far. It’s small and inconspicuously out of sight. I’m able to listen to my pandora through my Bose radio.
Jul 18, 2019 11:47we can finally forget the cables and how bad they look on the furniture and the lack of mobility by connecting them.
Feb 23, 2016 21:51Had an old receiver sitting around and wanted to put it in the garage. But was bummed it didn’t have blue tooth. Problem
Solved with this. Awesome invention!
Feb 22, 2019 21:09This is the third Bluetooth of this brand I have bought. I have them through out my home and great range.. Also includes the rca jack adapter or just the aux hook up..
Feb 26, 2016 17:38Great quality and easy to set up. Would highly recomend this item to anyone out there.
May 06, 2017 00:39We like it so much we got two. Best inexpensive streaming device. Just a good as the higher price ones at other stores.
Aug 08, 2018 21:46Used in van traveling on vacation in areas w/o radio reception. Worked great with iPhone and sounded great.
Aug 19, 2015 15:36Transmit audio and video with this j5create HDMI over wireless extender. Wi-Fi connectivity enables high-speed data transmission to your HDMI-enabled TV set, HDTV or projector up to 200 feet away with low latency. This j5create HDMI over wireless extender is compatible with macOS, iOS, Windows and Android devices for versatility.
Overall—It really works, much to my skepticism about it. There are however, a few drawbacks. The biggest being range, in my experience 1 room over and that was all it took. The next, possibly a design issue, the box itself gets very hot. I mean for something that operates more or less like a router, why does it get so hot? On idle it gets fairly warm. With use it easily reached 95+ degrees. In my use case, only the receiver gets hot, not so much the transmitter. If it weren’t made of plastic you’d easily burn yourself handling it after use. I personally don’t believe this is good for its longevity. Of course, this is assuming that my unit isn’t defective and your typical unit doesn’t experience this. Due note, at the time of writing i wasn’t able to locate my infrared thermometer and I used a different thermometer that is most certainly not meant to be used in this way. The actual temperature is certainly higher.
On the brighter side of things, this thing is definitely useful. Moving around from 1 room to the next with a connected device is great. In my case pairing a game console to it makes moving from living room to bedroom or den to let kids watch tv is great.
Performance—As mentioned above, in my use case, 1 room distance was all that was needed to have issues. To better explain, that distance is about 10ft with a sliding glass door between the rooms. The transmitter sitting on top of an entertainment center in an open living room and receiver on a shelf in the other room. As for obstacles, there’s the glass, a tv panel, and the shelf’s particle wood framing.
Usability—So how well does it transmit picture quality? Packaging and product description says 1080p but in my use case the image quality is slightly degraded. As I’ve stated in other reviews, my house possibly has a lot of interference from other wireless devices such as mesh WiFi routers, multiple smart hubs, subnet WiFi networks, a multitude of zigbee/z-wave smart devices, and many smartphones possibly creating more noise from Bluetooth and other radio signals. That said the end result is closer to a washed out 720p image.
If you game, a heavily driven story based game is acceptable, much like platformers and indie games. Movies/streaming is also an acceptable quality unless your needs require that the result be cinema quality. Where I do have an issue is during fps multiplayer matches such as call of duty, fortnite, etc. Besides image quality, there is a slight bit of latency that is very noticeable.
NOTE: the images included are of little help as the banding is created from the screen. Screen capture images will be updated in comments.
Other thoughts—An integrated power button would of been great to have. It would of made coping with the heat issue much better. Having to unplug it every time from its jack makes it possible to have the cord drop into the narrow spacing behind our entertainment centers.
Conclusion—at this price point it is a bit hard to swallow considering the short distance a real world setting provided. A 2 story home would probably not be a very good fit unless it is used on the same floor.
Sep 26, 2020 14:29I decided to get this because I no longer have a DVD player, but do have one on my laptop that I can transmit to the TV with the use of this wireless extender. Setup for this is very simple. Plug the HDMI cable (included) into the transmitter then into your computer, and plug in the AC adapter. You will need another HDMI cable (not included) to plug into your TV and the receiver. Once both lights are green, it is ready to use. Just make sure you have your TV set to the correct HDMI input. I didn’t do that at first and thought I had a problem, but then realized I had to change the input.
The computer and transmitter were approximately 25 feet away from the television and receiver and I didn’t experience any lag in the picture or the voice whatsoever. It was just like I was watching cable! There was no distortion or pixilation in the video. In fact, it looked much better on my 75” TV than it did on my laptop.
This wireless extender will come in handy for our projector screen also! I am looking forward to using the projector outside.
I am taking one star off because only one HDMI cable came with this product and you must use two for this to work. You will need one to hook the transmitter to the laptop (or transmitter device) and one to hook the receiver to the TV for the long distance wireless transmission. There is also the concern that the receiver does get very warm after having it plugged in for 24 hours. However, I do love this wireless extender and it does work VERY well for my use and I would recommend it.
Sep 27, 2020 12:19j5create - HDMI Over Wireless Extender Kit
j5create may have missed the memo about aggravating gadgets. Devices like this HDMI wireless extender aren’t supposed to work this well. They aren’t supposed to work by simply plugging in, with no need to do anything special (including reading instructions). Wow. What a breath of fresh air.
SETUP: I tested two different situations.
First setup- Security System Monitoring.
Transmit the audio/video output from my Night Owl camera security system to a TV all the way on the other side of my house. (At least 4 walls and a laundry room with appliances are in the path, not including closets and just stuff). I wanted to avoid a run of HDMI cable 45ft (not including up and down walls with all the required bends).
j5create to the rescue.
1- I plugged in the j5create TRANSMITTER to an outlet near my source (DVR). I took one HDMI cable (included) and plugged it into my Night Owl security DVR with the other end plugged into the j5create TRANSMITTER.
2- I went across my house to the room with an extra Tv. Plugged in the j5create RECEIVER into a nearby outlet. Took one of my HDMI cables (only one comes with the kit) and plugged in my receiving Tv and the other end into the j5create RECEIVER. Set the INPUT of this Tv on the desired setting.
Second setup- Amazon FireTv sent to distant location. Same obstacles.
1- This setup is the same distance, but the opposite direction. I also needed to enable the IR remote extender feature. If I wanted to change programs at a distance on my Amazon Fire Box I’d prefer not to have to get up and run across the house and “blindly” change channels.
PERFORMANCE: Situation 1- Success. The picture that had been displayed on my original security system location is now displayed on the Tv 45 feet away. And, the audio is working right along with it. I ran this setup for several days without hiccup.
Situation 2- The Amazon Fire video on my distant Tv was onscreen and looking OK. This is a more severe test, because the bright, colorful image is more demanding and audio synchronization is more obvious if it misses. And, of course, the IR remote signal is also important.
This distance combined with wall obstacles presented a bit of a challenge and required care in placing the j5Create devices. I got a good, colorful picture with decent voice and picture synch. The remote IR feature worked reliably. But, I did have occasional intermittent freezes and the quality of picture didn’t match that of a wired TV a few feet away. Some effort to improve j5create placement or a more reasonable distance will probably improve things. I’m less in love with this outcome, but I’m also stretching the limits of the j5create devices because of all the intervening walls.. j5create's suggested application in conference room setups is definitely reasonable. A more open space should also make a big difference.
ISSUES: The quoted distances for trouble-free connections on this type of device are always optimistic. I’m OK with some trial & error when the setup takes only a few minutes.
It would be a near perfect device if it had a local HDMI output, also, at the transmitting end. This would turn it into an extender/splitter. I think the added expense would increase its value by much more.
CONCLUSION: This is a quick and easy setup with a satisfactory solution for a number of problems I need to solve. For my security system, it’s perfect. While not a demanding application, it works beautifully. Using this j5create HDMI extender for extending the reach of a high quality streaming device to, say a projector, but not at lengthy or obstacle filled distances, it also works fine. I’m a picky media user and I would probably complain about the video quality at my lengthy, obstacle filled distances. j5create suggests this device is intended for conference room solutions, between a computer, for example, and a display device like a projector. I’d bet that works very nicely. I can recommend this. Just be sure to test it out before your return period expires. It works for me, but situations will vary.
Sep 23, 2020 15:56I am using this to extend a wireless HDMI signal from a security camera NVR to a monitor so I don't have to run a long HDMI cable. The signal has a lot of pixelation and has these green/red artifacts on dark areas (like the brown conference room table). For our use this does not bother me as the source has good stored video, but if I were watching, say, a movie, I would be upset.
Nov 12, 2021 16:33If I could go 1/2 star I would. This is the worse quality item I’ve ever bought for over $100. Right out of the box the pair button on the transmitter is stuck and won’t push in. Then when you plug something into the transmitter it buzzes like an electrical arch. When it is “working” the video cuts in and out and it’s only about 50 ft from the other box. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. The quality of this product is worth about $20 Max.
Feb 03, 2021 15:15Eventually I plan on using these extenders with my outdoor Video projector that I usually have in my backyard, but I move annually to display video across my Garage on Halloween. In the back yard the distance from the source to projector is abut 20' through a Stucco wall. To my garage it more like 50' through 3 interior walls. So to see if these would meet my needs I set out to do some testing.
First the initial setup, I decided to use a laptop and monitor to test with as I could move either very easily, and to view signals in daylight, I'll be using my projector at night, and during the day it's next to impossible to see, even thought it has 4500 lumens output. So first I powered up the Receiver extender; first image below shows the output on the screen. Status and instructions clearly displayed on the screen, Perfect! I connected the Transmitter extender to my notebook via HDMI, briefly the message in the screen changed to the second image and then my notebook screen was visible to my monitor. Great that was easy. My monitor supports 2K output, which I was using before trying these extenders. The monitor changed to HD resolution as soon as the extenders were connected. So as specked these J5create extenders support up to full HD, not 2K or 4K, what I expected and will be using with my HD projector.
Not surprisingly separated by 6' they work perfectly. I then moved my monitor outside, where my projector will be most of the time. And when I got everything powered up, it took a little longer for the connection to compete (5-10s) but once connected the signal was rock solid. I walked between the receiver and transmitter, no issues.
So far so good. I now moved my monitor to the back of my garage where I'll have the projector (rear projection) for Halloween. I realized, from the transmitter to the receiver was about 50' but a freezer and a bath room (2 interior walls + garage wall) bisected the path bewtween the Transmitter and the Receiver. This was obviously more of a challenge than I initially thought, but they claim these extenders can reach 200'. Once all were powered up I could see the receiver looking for the transmitter on the screen. After waiting for 60s and playing with the antenna still no connection. I then moved the receiver box closer to the wall (cable length 3'). I saw a connection then it dropped. I knew I was close, I changed the HDMI cable out with a 10' cable that allowed me to mount the Receiver box high on the garage wall, and put the antenna up. Bingo, a great stable signal. I tried opening and closing the Freezer, no problem. Now I've tested the setup's I needed the J5create HDMI extenders to work for me, and they do what I need. There is no doubt that the quoted 200' distance is probably with a clean line of sight. Add a couple of walls and other electronics, pipes etc, and you distance will vary.
If your still with me, 4 or 5 years ago I'd attempted to do the same with a different brand of extenders. The garage never worked and the backyard worked for about a year, when it just won't connect any longer. Giver the strength of signal I'm getting from the J5create extenders I think I finally found a long term workable solution. And given their price they are a deal compared to other products I've considered, or tried using. They come with IR input, output blasters, which should allow your to use a remote at the receiver location, as long as you extend the IR output from the transmitter to your IR pickup (cable box/receive/Blu-ray player. Really a nice bonus. My only complaint in setting the system up, was I wish I could have seen some sort of signal strength meter so I could better tune things in with the adjustable antenna. They also show the firmware version, but there is no discussion is to if they can be upgraded (why show the version it it can't be changed) . But once connected this is not necessary. All told I'm pleased with the product.
Sep 24, 2020 12:10Wanted a solution to extend the image from my desktop computer in our home office to our big screen in our living room, and decided to give the J5Create HDMI extender a shot.
Unboxing and setup:
Inside the box are a transmitter / receiver units, one 2’ HDMI cable, two power adapters and IR adapter cables “if you want to use an IR remote and have it extend into the other device”, and a manual.
Setup is about as simple as it gets, just hook up the transmitter to the device you want to transmit from “the desktop in this case” and destination device “our 65” in our living room”. Each device has its own power supply and there’s one short HDMI cable include which I used to connect to the desktop computer. I used the cable off our DVD player in the living room to hook the receiver up to the TV.
After plugging them in the picture instantly appeared on the living room TV, no problems at all and the picture was superb, better than I thought it would be.
Impressions:
I couldn’t be more impressed, while these only support 1080P the image looked absolutely awesome on our 4k TV, we were pretty much blown away by the image quality. The image itself looked every bit as good as it does on my 32” 2k 144mhz gaming monitor and trying out Fallout New Vegas I didn’t have any clipping that was noticeable and it was able to maintain 60fps all the time.
Our desktop computer sits in another room approximately 25’ away from the TV and there’s absolutely no problem transmitting that distance. I even had the receiver buried in the bottom of the TV cabinet to keep it hidden and figured this would be a good test to see how the signal was.
Setting this up was a breeze, it was all PnP, I didn’t have to do anything other than adjust the resolution for Fallout down to 1080 but still had all the settings maxed out. I’m going to be using this on our projector mainly and can’t see any issues running that with the transmitter being further away than the projector. This is really going to expand our viewing pleasure using either the big screen or projector now. I can see this device also coming in really handy if you want to hook up a laptop and a projector in an office environment for presentations, this way you could have the projector mounted on the ceiling and not have to worry about how you are going to hook up different devices. I’m giving this a full 5 stars just for how well it works and the quality of the image it produces.
Sep 23, 2020 17:22The JVAW53 HDMI over Wireless Extender by j5create is a product you didn’t know you needed, and it is only $140 at Best Buy.
This kit includes a transmitter and receiver as well as IR blaster for control of the source device, if it normally is remote controlled. Let me explain.
You’ve got a TV, game system or computer in another nearby room. You’d like to watch the content from that device on a display, say, on an outdoor patio or in another room, or in a meeting room, and you don’t want to run cables. Just supply the power from a wall plug, perform the simple, really simple hookup steps and enjoy.
I can tell you, IT WORKS!
It does not matter what is fed through the system, from the source to the remotely located display, so for my evaluation, I chose to send TV from the family room to a nearby TV outside on the patio that is not otherwise connected to DirecTV.
There are certain restrictions to keep in mind. Some content is protected to prevent copying. The anti-copy technology prevents transmission protected video and audio through the HDMI cable.
Bear in mind that the typical TV, regardless of location inside or outdoors, also has the inputs for antenna, HDMI, USB and cable. Think of the j5create kit as another cable box without the monthly fee. OR, think of sending whatever may be on the screen of a nearby computer in your actual in- or out-of-home office (Who goes into an office these days?) onto a display (it’s a TV!) in a nearby meeting room for the gathering throngs (safely distanced, of course).
Have I got your attention . . . yet?
Think of the possibilities! Are you thinking?????
If used as a remote display for a video game, users might think there would be an unacceptable signal lag from home base to the remote display, causing your gamer to lose a match. While there is a lag, the manufacturer claims it is less than 60 milliseconds. That’s .06 seconds. That’s right, 6/100 of a second. Hopefully, not enough to be the difference between winning and losing an online game.
How does it do what it does?
Cable boxes, DVD players, computers, game systems send their audio and video out to the local TV with HDMI, right? (The answer is YES.) Instead of seeing and hearing the programming of interest directly on the usual TV, this JVAW53, instead, connects to that device’s HDMI output and sends it wirelessly to the other TV, AND it includes an IR blaster. If there is a remote control used at the original source, take along the remote control to the remote location and point it at the TV as before. One end of the IR baster is ideally mounted where it can “see” the device to be controlled.
Over at the remote TV, the other IR blaster is mounted on the side, bottom or top of the TV bezel, or frame. In so doing, the remote control at the remote location is operated as usual, as you do now. What do you do now? You aim the remote control at the TV, right?
When the buttons on the remote control that is now at the remotely located display are pressed while aimed at that TV, the signal is “seen” by the remote signal IR (Infrared) signal blaster and sent wirelessly to the other signal blaster back at the base. From there, the signal blasts from the IR emitter now aimed at the device the user wants to control. Everything works as normal, as expected, as if the equipment is still located in the same room.
Added flexibility comes from compatibility with Windows, Android, MacOS and iOS devices.
Specifications indicate that it supports resolutions of 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080p. Not supported is the newest 4K TV standard. To this I say, “No big deal.” That is NOT why I would want and use this. It is an inexpensive convenience or business tool, not a device for purists.
Cool, isn’t it? It certainly can be, and it can save money by removing the requirement for another set of equipment in the other location.
Here is what it CANNOT DO. First, while the remote TV is receiving content from the cable box, game system, DVD player or computer, the sound and image back at home base, by necessity, must be the same as on the remote TV. The Wireless Display HDMI Extender is NOT a cable box. It does not split the signal. It takes the signal in its entirety from home base and sends it without wires to the nearby remote location onto another TV.
For example, while mom and dad are watching programming from the den DVR, j5create cannot send a different channel or different content to the remote location. It CAN and will save money by trading convenience and flexibility from the base system to the remotely located TV. This is what I see as j5create’s most useful usage model for consumers.
In other words, you don’t get the programming split for display both locally and remotely. If sent to a remote TV, it is NOT seen on the original TV or computer. Bear this in mind when considering the usability of THIS product.
Tonight, for example, I wanted to stream a movie not capable of streaming other than on a computer. In this case, I connected the HDMI out from the computer monitor, as if to a second in a dual display setup. With the other TV upstairs in my bedroom, I set the j5create as the second monitor as if in a dual monitor setup. The streamed movie went out to the j5create transmitter as if a second desktop. I went upstairs to watch on my bedroom TV using the HDMI output on the j5create receiver connected to an HDMI input on the TV. Remember, the "other" TV has to be set to the input corresponding to the output of the j5create HDMI. Since there isn’t a remote control for the computer, I did not need the IR blaster, but I DID take the wireless mouse, which, thankfully, was within wireless range, even if just barely. I used the mouse to pause and rewind to replay scenes. Not the perfect setup, but this is what j5create JVAW53 does well. Certainly better than having to take the desktop computer upstairs.
Includes a standard j5create one-year warranty with an additional six months for registering the product online as per a brochure packed in the box, so be sure to activate it.

Works very good to transmit picture and sound to projector without unsightly cables
Oct 01, 2021 16:04It’s definitely does what we need it to door. As far as range I can’t comment on because we have it in the next room.
Feb 02, 2021 07:11Bought these product cause I didn't want to run hmdi cable across the room for my security system. They worked like a charm to view my camera on my tv using these wireless kit.
Mar 11, 2021 09:26I needed to stream my DVD to my television and the sales rep at Best Buy recommended this product. I could not be happier
Nov 14, 2020 18:01Works excellent. I used these to bridge my laptop to my ceiling mounted projector so I wouldn't have wires hanging down. No drag or delay - Perfect
Nov 13, 2020 15:50It’s an ok usb drive, it works for what it needs to work.
Jul 07, 2021 19:54Works really well! Does exactly what it is suppose to do.

Dec 27, 2020 17:11Extend the display of your Android or Windows devices with this IOGEAR wireless mobile and PC to HDTV screen-sharing receiver. Compatibility with Miracast enables direct content streaming to HD displays. This IOGEAR wireless mobile and PC to HDTV screen-sharing receiver supports Full HD playback to provide an immersive audiovisual experience and connects to devices up to 50 feet away for convenience.
The packaging maximized the space to make a small package. Cardboard and plastic was used, I was glad to see no styrofoam at all.
One thing to mention right off the bat is that this device does NOT work with Apple devices. At all.
Now that you understand the only windows or android devices work with this, we can proceed.
You will need an electrical plug nearby since the power cord is short and an available HDMI port in your TV.
Plug the charging cord into the device, plug the HDMI cable into the TV and you’re good to go.
The manual explains how to connect.
This device streams audio and video from your PC or Android device to your TV wirelessly.
It does that, but it has its limitations...
There is a noticeable lag from the pc or tablet to the TV. Better not to have the pc/tablet device facing the same way as the display you’re watching or you'll notice the lag and difference in quality.
But the playback on TV is noticeably choppy if you are watching a video that shows movement/action.
And to top it all, seems like my Samsung Smart TV doesn’t need this device at all, it is built into some newer smart TVs, so check your manual to see if your TV supports this.
I think this item might work best in an office environment to display static graphics, text, Power Point slides, ETC.
Nov 20, 2019 13:41The picture is pixelated. I wasn't expecting 4k but sometimes it was bad. Most importantly it would disconnect on its own and that's the most frustrating.
Dec 08, 2020 16:54The IOGEAR screen sharing receiver is the easiest way to share video and audio from a window 10 PC or Android phone. I have a few basic flat screen TVs that I can now stream to by using the IOGEAR.
Set up is simple, plug the Micro USB power plug in to power and connect the HDMI cable that is provided in to the unit and into the TV. Once you do that the IOGEAR shows a video on how to use the unit.
For the PC it is very easy. Select the Windows button and the letter P to bring up the windows screen sharing window and select the type of sharing you want to do, Duplicate, Extend and Second screen only. Once you've made your selection then pick the IOGEAR and off you go.
For the Android devices download the IOGEAR app and follow from there. Easy peasy!
Nov 13, 2019 19:47The device is small like a fire stick. It's simple to use and set up, I followed the instructions which were easy to understand. Some TVs already have this feature but requires wifi. This device just uses your android phone or windows 10 device directly. I haven't had any issues with streaming to my tv. I've had more issues using the TVs program to connect with the phone or laptop. If you like to connect your laptop to the tv or android phone wirelessly and want 1080p this is the device for you !
Nov 17, 2019 04:16This product works well for my setup. I have been looking for a solution for viewing content on the TV for my guest room from my laptop for viewing international channels without having to run cables and stream wirelessly.
Setup was so simple, almost a "plug and play" similar to airplay on Apple TV but this one uses Wi-Fi miracast to stream content from Android phones or windows laptop, desktop or tablet. Just connect the receiver to the TV using provided HDMI cable and power cable. This is great for sharing content or mirroring your laptop display . I was able to share my pictures on large screen from my laptop wirelessly without losing resolution.
Resolution is 1080p and works great for business presentations.
I also tried connecting with my Epson power lite home cinema 5030UB for watching content from my laptop. Occasional connection drop and latency do exist if the distance is more than 20 feet.
On the box it was mentioned up to receive content up to 50ft away but in testing it doesn’t have that range and the picture gets choppy if moved away more than 25 feet.
I would rate this as four stars only because it’s not backward compatible and only works with newer operating system( android 4.2 & Windows 10 or higher). This will not work with iOS or Apple phones and is compatible only with android phone or tablet running 4.2 or higher.
What is included : Wireless A/V Receiver , Power adapter, micro usb power cable, HDMI cable, User manual & warranty card.
Nov 13, 2019 13:08The device probably will not work well for gaming but if you just want a second monitor wirelessly connected to a Miracast compatible laptop or android device and just want to mirror or use an extended display on a windows 10 laptop for doing non demanding things like viewing email or making word documents it works well, not flawlessly. Be sure to have the latest drivers installed for the display adapters. I had a new laptop and was having trouble getting Miracast to connect to the IOGEAR device. I found that the display drivers were Microsoft 2006 drivers. Went to the laptop manufacturer site and downloaded drivers dated August 2019 and all was well after that was installed. By the way the store clerk told me a device to wirelessly connect a computer to a monitor or TV did not exist. That store had 2 brands that would do that job.
Nov 28, 2019 15:35This item is very convenient if you're looking for a way to mirror screens without pricey equipment. As a college student, it's easier for me to play lectures on my TV while getting additional work done. This item is nice because it has minimal setup and is easy even if you're not technologically advanced.
This product includes the device, an HDMI cord, and power source. You will need an HD TV that has an HDMI port for it to work. The device itself is smaller than your average mobile phone, so it's very convenient for offices or on the go settings.
Setup is quick and painless. Simply connect to a power source and your TV, then from a windows computer, you can press the windows button + P and connect to your device. I will say that it's fairly laggy, so I would recommend getting to the page you want to be at, then connect to the device.
The downfall of this item is that it does not work for Apple products such as iPhones and Macbooks.
Pros:
-Easy screen mirroring
-Wireless network
-Includes necessary cables
-Low price point
Cons:
-Laggy
-Experienced some issues with connection
-Not compatible with Apple computers or phones
Overall, this item is a good buy if you need an easy screen mirroring option. Keep in mind that it's only compatible with Windows and Android.
Dec 02, 2019 20:06I originally bought this to connect my laptop to a TV wirelessly to do a presentation. I could not get it to keep the connection, it would connect and then drop after just a few minutes.
Then I used it to connect my android phone to a TV(that did not have wifi to connect to internet) so that I could display video from my phone and it works great.

It’s too expensive for not providing meaningful competent upgrades to 2021 tech. The lack of all points being hdmi 2.1 is a huge issue (only one port is). Why pay this much when a Yamaha can do all ports hdmi 2.1 for 600 bucks!
Sep 24, 2021 01:02Works great with the PS5 via HDMI 2.1 pass-thru for 8k 60hz or 4k 120hz. Sound is clear and ATMOS is well managed. Remote is awesome and backlight with motion sensor.

It worked well w/PC to our projector. Would not work with the HDMI out on our soundbar. Ending up returning it.
